Abstract
- The article presents a study which aims to examine if women are portrayed as heroes in Clio award-winning advertisements as well as explore if such portrayals changed over a 10-year time period. It cites the presence of top advertising agency brands that could be directly related to the cost of entry as well as the politics with winning a Clio awards. The need for future research on the topic of gendered concepts of heroism to focus on a more typical sample of television marketing is tackled.
