Abstract

The article focuses on the campaign against the illegal wildlife trade in Kenya. It discusses the re-emergence of wildlife poaching and trafficking in the country, some factors contributing to the evolution of such crime which include the rising price of ivory and rhinoceros (rhino) horn as well as their value as status symbols or traditional medicine and the proliferation of small arms, and the implementation of wildlife laws by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) that aim to eliminate poaching.
