Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring is crucial for early diagnosis and timely treatment of cardiovascular diseases which are the major cause of global death, and it is of great significance but a long‐standing challenge to acquire the stability of signal quality while maintaining high comfort during ECG monitoring over a long time. Textile electrodes offer strong potential for applications in the long‐term monitoring of ECG signals due to gel‐free and dry characteristics compared with existing wet silver/silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) gelled electrodes. Therefore, the last few years have witnessed the rapid development of textile ECG electrodes which are further accelerated by the booming researches on wearable electronics. Herein, a review of recent advances in textile electrodes for ECG monitoring with a focus on advanced material designs and construction technologies is presented. First, comprehensive considerations of ECG monitoring with textile electrodes are provided. Subsequently, the fabrication technologies for high‐performance textile ECG electrodes are highlighted. Integrating nanoparticles into textiles represents a crucial intersection between nanotechnology and the textile industry, fundamentally transforming the process of designing, producing and utilizing fabrics. Nanoparticles enhance textile materials by introducing novel features such as antibacterial capabilities, UV protection, flame retardancy and enhanced mechanical strength. These improvements result in fabrics that are more intelligent, highly efficient and environmentally sustainable. They also optimize production processes and provide cutting-edge product designs. Nevertheless, the extensive adoption of nanoparticle technology in textiles encounters notable obstacles, such as those related to nanoparticle dispersion, longevity and compatibility with different substrates. Furthermore, the need for sustainable production processes and the creation of environmentally friendly nanoparticle compositions is driven by concerns regarding environmental impact and toxicity. Nanotechnology, if applied to these difficulties, has the capacity to reduce environmental dangers and introduce a new era of textiles that are both highly functional and in line with global sustainability objectives. This review will examine the techniques used to incorporate nanoparticles into textiles, the advantages of doing so, the assessment of their performance and the considerations about their long-term viability. This work proposes a new model for e-textile clothing design for designers, engineers, and programmers. Through the application of the Double Diamond and User-Centered Design models in the design of smart clothing for cycling and fencing, it was possible to develop a new model that combines both processes. This model emphasizes the multidisciplinary nature of the theme, fosters a dialogue between disciplines, helps to solve problems, and at the same time, maps the various stages of research and development. The new model diverges in three aspects (design, technology, and feedback) and, after this stage, converges in the design of a product. Whenever necessary, the process allows revisiting one or more steps to reposition the design process for a successful solution. The research topic draws from distant areas such as clothing design, electronic textile technologies, and visual feedback. It allows referencing the knowledge generated in the different stages of the design process, from theoretical studies to the creation of practical studies, including collaboration with different professionals throughout the process. The model results in an interaction that involves six steps: 1) discover problems; 2) define opportunities in discoveries; 3) specify design, technology, and feedback requirements with the user; 4) develop an idea for a complete design; 5) evaluate the design proposal, technology, and feedback with the user; and finally, 6) implement the solution with the user. In cardiovascular therapeutics, procedures such as heart transplants and coronary artery bypass graft are pivotal. However, an acute shortage of organ donors increases waiting times of patients, which is reflected in negative effects on the outcome for the patient. Post-procedural complications such as thrombotic events and atherosclerotic developments may also have grave clinical implications. To address these challenges, tissue engineering is emerging as a solution, using textile technologies to synthesize biomimetic scaffolds resembling natural tissues. This comprehensive analysis explains methodologies including electrospinning, electrostatic flocking, and advanced textile techniques developed from weaving, knitting, and braiding. These techniques are evaluated in the context of fabricating cardiac patches, vascular graft constructs, stent designs, and state-of-the-art wearable sensors. We also closely examine the interaction of distinct process parameters with the biomechanical and morphological attributes of the resultant scaffolds. The study proposes a fluid simulation and analysis of oxygenated membrane fabrics for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) by applying knitting technology from the field of textile technology. This is aimed at addressing the lack of research on the impact of the oxygenator flow field before and after knitting of oxygenated membrane fabrics. For this investigation, a commercial oxygenator was selected, featuring a polymethylpentene (PMP) hollow fiber membrane as the oxygenator membrane material, along with a knitted yarn made of a 50D/24F polyester low-elasticity filament. The knitting organization utilized warp knitting technology with a pillar stitch/weft lining structure. Through the integration of theoretical geometric modeling and finite element analysis method of flow-solid coupling, the study examined the influence of knitting on the oxygenator before and after the knitting of the PMP membrane material. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) technology represents a sophisticated equipment within the domain of in vitro medical treatment. The research findings indicated that the total pressure drop in the oxygenator's flow field was 472.6 Pa for the unknitted PMP membrane and 269.4 Pa for the knitted oxygenator fabric, signifying a near 40% reduction in pressure with the knitted PMP membrane. This reduction in pressure also led to a 50% decrease in turbulence within the flow field. The maximum displacement of the knitted PMP membrane within the flow field was measured at 0.16 mm, whereas the unknitted membrane displayed a maximum displacement of 0.37 mm. The knitted PMP membrane significantly enhanced the pressure and velocity uniformity of the oxygenator's flow field, resulting in decreased stress-strain effects and improved service life of the oxygenator. In conclusion, the study illustrates that knitting the PMP membrane can substantially improve the flow field distribution of ECMO oxygenators, leading to enhanced oxygenation efficiency and membrane durability. This study addresses the fabrication of flexible, heatable fabrics via the integration of globally interconnected silver nanowires (Ag NWs) with sputter-deposited silver atoms. Conventional heatable fabrics, which utilize macroscale or nanoscale conductive wires, often face challenges in balancing flexibility, comfort, and structural durability. The proposed method leverages the advantages of nanoscale metallic wires and vacuum-based sputtering, maintaining fabric flexibility while enhancing heating efficiency. The fabrication process involves dip-coating polyester fabric with Ag NWs, followed by sputter deposition to modulate the nanowire morphology, thereby improving key electrical properties such as wire resistance and contact resistance between wires. The experimental results demonstrate that sputter-deposited Ag NW fabrics exhibit significantly enhanced heating capability compared to undeposited, otherwise identical counterparts. Further, the fabrics maintain their heating characteristics under repeated mechanical bending and prolonged electrical stress, highlighting their potential for use in wearable electronic applications. This approach offers a promising solution to the limitations of current heatable textile technologies, providing a pathway for the development of comfortable, efficient, and durable heatable fabrics. Due to climate change, population increase, and the urban heat island effect (UHI), the demand for cooling energy, especially in urban areas, has increased and will further increase in the future. Technologies such as radiative cooling offer a sustainable and energy-free solution by using the wavelength ranges of the atmosphere that are transparent to electromagnetic radiation, the so-called atmospheric window (8–13 µm), to emit thermal radiation into the colder (3 K) outer space. Previous publications in the field of textile building cooling have focused on specific fiber structures and textile substrate materials as well as complex multi-layer constructions, which restrict the use for highly scaled outdoor applications. This paper describes the development of a novel substrate-independent coating with spectrally selective radiative properties. By adapting the coating parameters and combining low-emitting and solar-reflective particles, along with a matrix material emitting strongly in the mid-infrared range (MIR), substrate-independent cooling below ambient temperature is achieved. Moreover, the coating is designed to be easily applicable, with a low thickness, to ensure high flexibility and scalability, making it suitable for various applications such as membrane architecture, textile roofs, or tent construction. The results show a median daytime temperature reduction (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) of 2 °C below ambient temperature on a hot summer day.

The seamless integration of emerging directional liquid transport (DLT) technology with traditional textile materials has ushered in the next‐generation multifunctional textiles, i.e., DLT textiles, which will play a vital role in areas such as wearable smart materials and ecological environmental protection. To further promote the combination of DLT technology and textile technology, a concise overview of the research progress in DLT textiles, including the basic transport mechanisms, various preparation strategies and diversified applications of DLT textiles is provided. In this review, the theoretical mechanisms of directional transport from the perspective of wetting and wicking is discussed. Besides, the preparation strategies of DLT textiles, and categorized them into three categories is summarized: fiber‐based DLT textiles, fabric‐based DLT textiles, and fiber/fabric hybrid‐based textiles. Subsequently, the current and potential applications of DLT textiles are classified and discussed, mainly focusing on functional clothing, oil‐water separation, fog collection, distillation, sensors, biomedicine, and so on. Electronic textiles (e‐textiles) combine electronic functions (e.g., sensing, actuating, data processing) with textiles. E‐textiles are a platform technology with the potential for ubiquitous deployment in any application scenario where textiles can be found. E‐textiles have attracted significant research interests from materials and manufacturing process development to applications such as sports/fitness, healthcare, and workwear. While significant advances have been made in the research domain regarding the integration of electronic functionality, the technology is relatively immature and significant challenges remain in the manufacturing of commercialized e‐textile systems. This paper reviews the state of the art in e‐textile manufacturing including materials (e.g., yarns, inks), fabrication (e.g., weaving, knitting, printing), electronic integration and interconnections. This paper also reviews the key principles of textile sustainability and electronic waste (e‐wastemanagement, which provide useful guidance on e‐textile design and manufacturing to minimize their impact on the environment. Examples are given to demonstrate the early work toward sustainable e‐textiles. The remaining research challenges regarding scalable and sustainable manufacturing of e‐textiles are presented. With the advancement of functional textile technology, there is a growing demand for functional enhancements in textiles from both industrial and societal perspectives. Recently, nanopattern transfer technology has emerged as a potential approach for fabricating functional textiles. However, conventional transfer methods have some limitations such as transfer difficulties on curved fiber surfaces, polymer residues, and delamination of transferred nanopatterns. In this study, an advanced nanopattern transfer method based on surface modification and thermoforming principles is applied to microscale electrospun fibers. This transfer method utilizes covalent bonding and mechanical interlocking between nanopatterns and the fibers without requiring extra adhesives. Various nanopatterns transferred electrospun fibers possess significant potential for diverse wearable healthcare applications. This work introduces two specific application scenarios in the field of wearable healthcare, both of which leverage the light: diagnostics and antimicrobials. Versatile textile with silver nanogap‐pattern detects glucose in sweat, diagnosing hypoglycemia and diabetes by shifting Raman peaks from 1071.0 to 1075.4 cm−1 for 0 to 150 µm glucose. Additionally, a bactericidal mask using visible light to induce the photocatalytic degradation effect of titanium dioxide and silver nanopatterns is developed. Bactericidal efficacy against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus is 99.9% due to photolysis from visible light irradiation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Photochromic textiles have a wide range of applications in the field of fashion and smart textiles due to the qualities of rapid light responsiveness and reversibility of reaction. The principle and classification of photochromic materials are summarized. We discussed the latest research progress of photochromic textile preparation technology including direct grafting, dyeing and printing, spinning, layer-by-layer self-assembly, and microencapsulation, and summarized the advantages and disadvantages of each method. Direct grafting method can precisely control the number of materials, but some methods need professional technology and equipment. Dyeing and printing method is simple and economical, suitable for mass production, but the dyes are easy to fade and may pollute the environment. Spinning method spins photochromic substances into the fibers, but the preparation process is complicated. Layer-by-layer self-assembly method can accurately control the structure of the materials and improve stability, but the preparation cycle is long and cumbersome. Microencapsulation can effectively isolate the materials, improve stability, and has the potential for mass production. Electronic textiles (e-textiles) are a branch of wearable technology based on integrating smart systems into textile materials creating different possibilities, transforming industries, and improving individuals' quality of life. E-textiles hold vast potential, particularly for use in personal protective equipment (PPE) by embedding sensors and smart technologies into garments, thus significantly enhancing safety and performance. Although this branch of research has been active for several decades now, only a few products have made it to the market. Achieving durability, reliability, user acceptance, sustainability, and integration into current manufacturing processes remains challenging. High levels of reliability and user acceptance are critical for technical textiles, such as those used in PPE. While studies address washing reliability and field tests, they often overlook end user preferences regarding smart textiles. This paper presents a narrow fabric-based e-textile system co-developed by engineers, garment and textiles' manufacturers, and firefighters. It highlights material choices and integration methods, and evaluates the system's reliability, sustainability, and user experience, providing comprehensive insights into developing and analyzing e-textile products, particularly in the PPE field. Integration of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology with conductive textiles has greatly expanded the possibilities for creating smart devices that fit perfectly into the concept of the Internet of Things. The use of e-textiles for antenna manufacturing has enabled the development of a textronic RFID tag. Integration of such tags into products with often non-flat surfaces may result in exposure to changes in antenna geometry caused by bending. As a result, the antenna parameters may change, resulting in disruption of the entire tag operation. Tirupur, famously dubbed the "Knitwear Capital of India," is a vital hub in the nation's textile industry, accounting for nearly 90% of India's knitwear exports. This article delves into the evolution, economic significance, and contemporary challenges of Tirupur's textile sector. From its modest beginnings as a cluster of small-scale units in the early 20th century, Tirupur's industry has flourished, particularly from the 1980s onwards. Technological advancements, such as automation and the use of sustainable materials, have helped maintain Tirupur's competitive edge globally. The industry's resilience was showcased during the COVID-19 pandemic when many manufacturers swiftly pivoted to producing personal protective equipment (PPE). Socio-economic impacts are notable, with the industry providing vital employment opportunities, particularly for women, although the dependence on migrant labor highlights the need for improved job security and wages. Globalization has further shaped the industry's trajectory, with e-commerce expanding market reach and international standards becoming increasingly critical. A resilient economy is a strong base for large volume of trade as it provides a perfect solution to poverty. Synthesis of Yoruba textiles and modern technology for resilient economy in this turbulent era is the concern of this paper. It highlights how Yoruba indigenous textiles are face lifted by modern technology to eradicate economic downturn. The paper gives insight to improvement on the production of Yoruba textiles therefore giving opportunity of job creation and self-reliance through the fusion. Functional fabrics including nano-metal coatings is an advanced application in textile technology that combines the distinctive characteristics of nanoparticles to improve fabric capabilities. These fabrics are meticulously designed to provide a wide range of uses, from protective textiles to high-performance athletics. Nano-metal coatings are added to the textiles to enhance their durability and conductivity. Moreover, examining their electromagnetic and ultraviolet (UV) characteristics indicates the possibility of providing protection against detrimental radiation and enhancing overall safety. This research aims to examine the nanometal coated fabric materials containing Copper (Cu) and Silver (Ag) metals, that concentrates on their electromagnetic interference (EMI) and UV protecting characteristics. To achieve this objective, the thermal evaporation under vacuum technique has been employed to apply Cu and Ag coatings onto textile fabric samples. The assessment of the extent of coating on textiles is conducted by the utilization of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis. Both Ag and Cu coatings have been demonstrated to be beneficial for enhancing the EMI and UV protective characteristics of fabric-materials. Moreover, the implementation of Ag coating has been observed to be better in enhancing the EMI and UV protective capabilities of fabric-materials in the context of textile industries. Patterned silks served as signifiers for rituals and status in early China. They were patterned using different techniques, for example, some sha -silks from Mawangdui dated to 168 CE were repeatedly stamped with motifs while other silks were woven with monochrome or polychrome motifs. The technical knowledge for producing such silks was embodied as internal memory in the artisans who predominantly worked in state- run workshops until the mid-first century BCE. Artisans also invented external memory devices to facilitate their work. Some devices – bronze stamps and pattern-shafts on looms – have been unearthed from Guangzhou and Laoguanshan dated to 122 and 118 BCE respectively. Most techniques did not circulate widely, and over time, some disappeared and were then replaced by others. Lacking artisans' own accounts, this article examines these external memory devices in the workshop context to suggest the hypothesis that the transmission of the embodied knowledge depended on the mobility and freedom of the artisans. To consider textiles along the trade routes that traverse Asia is to consider materials, technologies, images and ideas: fibres and filaments, dyestuffs, and the technologies of felt-making, weaving, embroidery, carpet-weaving and block-printing. Pattern-making is affected by all of these factors. And the trajectories of designs, repeated to form patterns, bring us to confront changes in meaning over time and space, relating textiles to the history of ideas. Within the breadth of this vast complexity of cultural exchange on multiple levels, this paper offers a brief exploration of two vexing problems. The first concerns origins and cultural diffusion of a warp-resist patterning technique (ikat). The second concerns the origin, development and transmission of drawloom weaving, resulting in the production of compound textiles with repeat patterns from selvedge to selvedge. The enhancement of fabric quality prediction in the textile manufacturing sector is achieved by utilizing information derived from sensors within the Internet of Things (IoT) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems linked to sensors embedded in textile machinery. The integration of Industry 4.0 concepts is instrumental in harnessing IoT sensor data, which, in turn, leads to improvements in productivity and reduced lead times in textile manufacturing processes. This study addresses the issue of imbalanced data pertaining to fabric quality within the textile manufacturing industry. It encompasses an evaluation of seven open-source automated machine learning (AutoML) technologies, namely FLAML (Fast Lightweight AutoML), AutoViML (Automatically Build Variant Interpretable ML models), EvalML (Evaluation Machine Learning), AutoGluon, H2OAutoML, PyCaret, and TPOT (Tree-based Pipeline Optimization Tool). The most suitable solutions are chosen for certain circumstances by employing an innovative approach that finds a compromise among computational efficiency and forecast accuracy. The results reveal that EvalML emerges as the top-performing AutoML model for a predetermined objective function, particularly excelling in terms of mean absolute error (MAE). On the other hand, even with longer inference periods, AutoGluon performs better than other methods in measures like mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), root mean squared error (RMSE), and r-squared. Additionally, the study explores the feature importance rankings provided by each AutoML model, shedding light on the attributes that significantly influence predictive outcomes. Notably, sin/cos encoding is found to be particularly effective in characterizing categorical variables with a large number of unique values. This study includes useful information about the application of AutoML in the textile industry and provides a roadmap for employing Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance fabric quality prediction. The research highlights the importance of striking a balance between predictive accuracy and computational efficiency, emphasizes the significance of feature importance for model interpretability, and lays the groundwork for future investigations in this field. The textile industries are looking forward to sustainable textile products. The bio‐based products are very important for protecting the environment, reducing carbon emissions, eliminating chemical pollution, and preserving the resources. These products provide economic advantages and strengthen communities with customer expectations for environmentally friendly items. In addition, sustainable practices encourage innovation and contribute to a healthier and adaptable environment, making them an essential textile product. Here the natural flax fiber plays a vital role due to its eco‐friendly behavior. Cotton‐flax blended yarns are manufacturing for perfect use of natural fibers and getting the better quality yarn than single product yarn. Here in this work it was trying to find out the perfect blending ratio by using Design‐Expert software. Because different blended ratio contain different characteristics. So it was trying to find out a perfect blending solution from the thirteen different ratios by using Design‐Expert software. This software analyses the blended ratios through statistical analysis. This study focuses on the unevenness (U%), imperfection index (IPI), hairiness (H%), tenacity (cN/tex) and elongation at break of the blended yarn. During the analysis the actual and predicted values were checked and it shows good significance, the correlation and regression analysis highlight the results of the samples summary. The findings of the study have great impact on the quality of cotton‐flax blended yarn, which impact on the quality of textile products. This work not only helps to understand cotton‐flax blending using Design‐Expert software, but it also highlights the possibility of using the perfect blended ratio by giving a solution. In the field of textile technology, this study centers on towpreg—an integral component utilized in production techniques like tape laying and filament winding. Here, fibers are pre‐coated with resin, typically epoxy but not exclusively. Notably, towpreg retains a partially cured state, maintaining tackiness throughout the processing stages. The ultimate quality of the product manufactured with this towpreg is highly dependent on this initial material. This research highlights the importance of considering various factors that impact product quality. While not exhaustive, a systematic analysis of diverse towpreg parameters, including tack, resin content, and width, is provided. The work encompasses findings, challenges, and insights derived from towpreg manufacturing, incorporating the investigation of various experimental methodologies. The study also evaluates methodologies for laminated coupon production with towpreg, assessing their applicability in characterizing filament‐wound components. Nanogenerators possess the capability to harvest faint energy from the environment. Among them, thermoelectric (TE), triboelectric, piezoelectric (PE), and moisture-enabled nanogenerators represent promising approaches to micro–nano energy collection. These nanogenerators have seen considerable progress in material optimization and structural design. Printing technology has facilitated the large-scale manufacturing of nanogenerators. Although inks can be compatible with most traditional functional materials, this inevitably leads to a decrease in the electrical performance of the materials, necessitating control over the rheological properties of the inks. Furthermore, printing technology offers increased structural design flexibility. This review provides a comprehensive framework for ink-based nanogenerators, encompassing ink material optimization and device structural design, including improvements in ink performance, control of rheological properties, and efficient energy harvesting structures. Additionally, it highlights ink-based nanogenerators that incorporate textile technology and hybrid energy technologies, reviewing their latest advancements in energy collection and self-powered sensing. This work introduces a silent speech interface (SSI), proposing a few-layer graphene (FLG) strain sensing mechanism based on thorough cracks and AI-based self-adaptation capabilities that overcome the limitations of state-of-the-art technologies by simultaneously achieving high accuracy, high computational efficiency, and fast decoding speed while maintaining excellent user comfort. We demonstrate its application in a biocompatible textile-integrated ultrasensitive strain sensor embedded into a smart choker, which conforms to the user's throat. Thanks to the structure of ordered through cracks in the graphene-coated textile, the proposed strain gauge achieves a gauge factor of 317 with <5% strain, corresponding to a 420% improvement over existing textile strain sensors fabricated by printing and coating technologies reported to date. Its high sensitivity allows it to capture subtle throat movements, simplifying signal processing and enabling the use of a computationally efficient neural network. The resulting neural network, based on a one-dimensional convolutional model, reduces computational load by 90% while maintaining a remarkable 95.25% accuracy in speech decoding. The synergy in sensor design and neural network optimization offers a promising solution for practical, wearable SSI systems, paving the way for seamless, natural silent communication in diverse settings. Tuft disentanglement involves the principal actions of opening and carding, which are essential processing in textile technology. In this article, tuft disentanglement is modeled as fiber withdrawal considering the fiber interactions within the tuft. Based on the reasonable tuft model, the kinematic constraints were constructed in the disentanglement considering the carding essence and fiber interactions. Combined with the dynamic equation, the state of the fibers can be solved as a linear complementarity problem due to the complementarity in the fiber interactions. The withdrawal forces verified the simulations, which capture the qualitative features of experiments. Also, the effect of the withdrawal parameters on disentanglement was studied. The simulation results showed that the withdrawal forces increased with increasing withdrawal velocities and decreasing gauge lengths. The simulation results are consistent with the experiments. The proposed computational framework can be extended for predicting the mechanical behaviors of other random fibrous materials involving fiber interactions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The element database can also be continuously filled according to the existing logic to realize the diversity of design. And verify the feasibility of the simulation software to assist pleated clothing design. Design/methodology/approach: Firstly, according to the logical framework of origami theory, different innovative designs and combined designs are made for the basic units of hyperbolic paraboloid, and the element library that can be used for design is systematically summarized. This database can also be continuously filled according to the existing logic to realize the diversity of design. Secondly, it summarizes three methods of pleated element filling clothing – uniform filling method, the irregular filling method and geometric addition method – that improve the theory of fashion design, expand the designer's design ideas and improve design efficiency. Clear design steps and logic can help students and machines learn the design process and promote the development of intelligent design. Finally, the virtual software is used to simulate the effect of pleated clothing, and the three-dimensional simulation software 3dclo is used to make an empirical study on the application of hyperbolic paraboloid origami in clothing pleated design to verify the feasibility of the simulation software to assist pleated clothing design. Findings: The theoretical results of hyperbolic paraboloid origami are collected and arranged to establish the element library of hyperbolic paraboloid origami. The results expand the designer's design ideas and auxiliary design technology and improve the design efficiency using a sample of hyperbolic paraboloid fabric to verify its practicability and three-dimensional clothing simulation software for exploring the design. The design rules of hyperbolic paraboloid clothing and the realization method of fabric are summarized, including the expansion and combing of elements, the application of size and shape and the method of combination. Research limitations/implications: Owing to the hyperbolic paraboloid origami's length shrinkage, the loose computation of clothing requires targeted computation. This paper solely applies a paper model for estimating the shrinkage, and then we tend to subsequently explore the way to precisely compute the porosity, to determine the existing differences in the two-dimensional shrinkage of hyperbolic paraboloid creases of varying materials and to know if the clothing after large-scale production is capable of reaching the anticipated value. Practical implications: The exploration of this experiment brings a new 3D experiment process to the design process. Social implications: This experiment brings new possibilities for the development of virtual fitting and virtual display in the industry. The spinning equipment for processing recycled fibrous materials and their technology characteristics were summarized. The overview of waste textiles was briefly introduced. The related resuing technology of waste textiles were sorted out, including physical recycling method, chemical recycling method, thermal energy recycling method and mechanical opening method. The spinning system, spinning equipment and its technology characteristics for processing recycled fibrous materials exhibited by Switzerland Rieter and Saurer in 2022 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition & ITMA Asia were emphatically summarized. It is considered that guiding and developing the reuse of waste textiles scientifically and orderly conforms to Chinese laws, regulations and development plans. The influence of screen-printing parameters on the electrical conductivity and printing quality of electronic textiles was analyzed. The research and application of screen-printing technology in the field of electronic textiles were explained, including human body monitoring, electromagnetic shielding, energy collection and storage, human-computer interaction interface, etc. The future research direction of electronic textiles prepared by screen-printing technology was prospected. With the rapid development of fashion industry, the requirements for the design and manufacture of clothing fabrics are getting higher and higher. The traditional fabric design method has the problems of long time consumption, high cost and difficult evaluation, so it is necessary to introduce new technologies to improve the fabric design process. Based on optical imaging technology and big data intelligence, this study aims to develop a new method to realize 3D digital design of clothing fabrics, so as to improve design efficiency and quality. In this paper, optical imaging technology is used to scan and measure different types of fabrics with high precision, and the texture and color information of fabrics are obtained. Then the obtained data are processed and analyzed, and combined with big data technology, a three-dimensional digital model of fabric is established. Finally, computer-aided design software is used for simulation and adjustment to further improve the design effect of fabrics. The experimental results show that this method can effectively transform the physical characteristics of fabrics into digital models and realize the personalized design of fabrics. The production technology of one of the essential structural parts of rubber-textile conveyor belts, the textile carcass, has not changed much since the start of their use. Specific changes occurred only in the material used when various synthetic fibres gradually replaced cotton. However, with the development of additive technologies, the possibility of changing the production technology is coming to the fore, when industrial textiles produced by classic weaving will not be used to make the carcass but a structure built by 3D printing. Confirmation of this change would represent a revolutionary breakthrough in the technology for rubber-textile conveyor belt production. Based on these facts, the possibility of using continuous 3D printing technology was verified to print a structure that would replace the technical fabric used in the conveyor belt carcass. As part of the research, the Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), and Stereolithography (SLA) technologies were verified. Experimental specimens with the dimensions of 145 x 145 x 185 mm were produced in three different positions: at an angle (45°), horizontally, and vertically. The specimens were made of three types of filament: SLA (Elastic 50A), SLS (TPU 1301), and FDM (Flexfill 92A); for each of the three positions of the specimen, filament consumption and printing time were determined due to the use of support material. This study explores the complexities of cost behavior in the textile industry, conducting a comparative analysis between firms in the Nordic countries and Spain. Our main goal is to examine how distinct economic and corporate governance models impact the cost management strategies of textile firms. Utilizing a panel dataset from the Orbis database covering the years 2017 to 2022, we reveal significant differences in cost stickiness between these regions. Notably, Nordic textile firms demonstrate a stronger tendency toward cost stickiness compared to their Spanish counterparts. This difference is largely attributed to the Nordic textile firms' more cautious approach to adjusting costs in response to decreases in revenue, potentially motivated by a commitment to sustainability, eco-friendly technologies, and long-term business success. Our analysis not only highlights the complex interaction between the global challenges confronting the textile sector and the unique economic and governance environments but also maps out how these elements shape cost management strategies. By offering insights to both academics and practitioners, this study advocates for a comprehensive cost management approach, capable of navigating demand volatilities and strategic complexities faced by textile firms. With the development of science and technology, the field of 3D fashion design has been widely paid attention to and developed in recent years, and it has also made outstanding contributions to daily clothing and functional wearable clothing. 3D technology has changed traditional clothing production technology and it made clothing design faster and more comfortable. However, as 3D apparel design involves interdisciplinary research, scholars from various specialties have not defined the research field of 3D apparel design, and the research lacks a targeted direction. In order to gain a more in-depth understanding of the research status and research hotspots of 3D technology in the field of apparel design, this study adopts a quantitative research method for literature analysis. This study used CiteSpace software to visualize and analyze 1532 articles on "3D fashion design" in the core database of Web of Science (WoS) from 2000 to 2022 and analyzed and explored the future research trends according to the current research status. We also analyze and explore future research trends based on the current research status. The textile department at the Yorkshire College of Science was opened in 1875 and absorbed into the University of Leeds in 1904. Thereafter it was transformed from a well-equipped centre for technical education, meeting local industrial needs, to an applied science department of high academic achievement, and international renown, with a graduate employment record which was both successful and diverse. Throughout, it received the generous support of the Worshipful Company of Clothworkers. The transformation, which was neither straightforward nor painless, required a strategic response to each of three questions by three successive generations of university managers, as follows. Firstly, can a technical curriculum be sustained in a university setting? Secondly, can the study of textiles be redefined as an applied science? Thirdly, can other disciplines be included to provide broader insights? By considering the responses, this article explores the manner in which social relationships, academic behaviour, industrial practice, and industrial change interacted to shape the curriculum and the research agenda, during an era of large-scale textile production in the UK.
