The purpose of the present study was to analyze Adapted Physical Activity Quarterly (APAQ) publications over the journal's fourth decade (2014–2023) and compare them with previous documentary analyses of the first 3 decades. Consistent with prior documentary analyses, publications were coded and analyzed based on the use of theory, research participants, topic, whether the study was an intervention, first-author country affiliation, and research method. The total number of published research papers increased substantially (n = 61) from the third to the fourth decade. Similar to prior documentary analyses, most of the research was quantitative (n = 140; 57.5%), followed by qualitative research (n = 96; 39.5%). There were far more qualitative-research publications in the fourth decade compared with the third decade (n = 34). This may reflect the continued acceptance and growth of qualitative research compared with 10–20 years ago. It may also reflect the value of rich in-depth exploratory research using small samples. Additional trends included more review papers and meta-analyses, possibly reflecting the increased knowledge base in particular areas requiring synthesis. The diversity of topics also increased, with papers on dignity, classification, coaching, and the Paralympics playing more prominent roles. The number of international publications also grew substantially. Purpose: Dental implants are an established treatment option for varying edentulous conditions that has grown in popularity since the 1990s. This increased clinical application has shown a parallel increase in implant-related research. The objective of this paper was to perform a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of five dental implantology journals from 1991 to 2023. Materials and Methods: A search was done in the Web of Science database between 1991 and 2023 in five journals with a focus on dental implantology: Clinical Oral Implant Research, Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research, Implant Dentistry, The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants, and International Journal of Oral Implantology. Results marked as a correction, retraction notice, retracted article, meeting abstract, or withdrawn publication were removed from the analysis. The time period analyzed was divided into four time periods, organized by decade: 1991 to 2000, 2001 to 2010, 2011 to 2020, and 2021 to 2023. Additionally, the top 100 cited papers were also exported separately. Authors and countries with most publications were tabulated from the Web of Science database. VOSviewer software was used to create network maps of keywords and title word occurrences for each of the time periods. HistCite software was used to analyze the number of publications and citation counts. Results: Network maps of keywords and title word occurrences suggested an early focus on osseointegration and titanium implants between 1991 and 2000. Publications between 2001 and 2010 saw a focus on in vivo studies, implant surface, and peri-implantitis. Publications from 2011 and later saw a focus on bone regeneration, complications, and zygomatic implants. The USA ranked highest in total number of publications in all analyzed time periods. Conclusions: Within the limitations of the present study, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis from 1990 to 2023 was reported. Purpose: The purpose of this survey was to create a list of essential historical and contemporary readings for undergraduate and graduate students in the field of exercise physiology. Methods: Fifty-two exercise physiologists/sport scientists served as referees, and each nominated ∼25 papers for inclusion in the list. In total, 396 papers were nominated by the referees. This list was then sent back to the referees, with the instructions to nominate the "100 essential papers in sports and exercise physiology." Results: The referees cast 4722 votes. The 100 papers with the highest number of votes received 51% (2406) of the total number of votes. A total of 37 papers in the list of "100 essential papers" were published >50 years ago, and 63 papers were published since 1973. Conclusions: This list of essential studies will provide a perspective on contemporary studies, the "giant's shoulders" to enable young scholars to "see further" or to understand where they have "come from." This compilation is also meant to impress on students that, given the (lack of) technology available in the past, some of the early science required enormous intuitive leaps on the part of historical scientists. Institutional discovery environments now serve as central resource databases for researchers in the academic environment. Over the last several decades, there have been numerous discovery layer research inquiries centering primarily on user satisfaction measures of discovery system effectiveness. This study focuses on the creation of a largely automated method for evaluating discovery layer quality, utilizing the bibliographic sources from student research projects. Building on past research, the current study replaces a semiautomated Excel Fuzzy Lookup Add-In process with a fully scripted R-based approach, which employs the stringdist R package and applies the Jaro-Winkler distance metric as the matching evaluator. The researchers consider the error rate incurred by relying solely on an automated matching metric. They also use Open Refine for normalization processes and package the tools together on an OSF site for other institutions to use. Since the R-based approach does not require special processing or time and can be reproduced with minimal effort, it will allow future studies and users of our method to capture larger sample sizes, boosting validity. While the assessment process has been streamlined and shows promise, there remain issues in establishing solid connections between research paper bibliographies and discovery layer use. Subsequent research will focus on creating alternatives to paper titles as search proxies that better resemble genuine information-seeking behavior and comparing undergraduate and graduate student interactions within discovery environments. An introduction to articles published within the issue is presented, including one which identified and summarized trends in how libraries have or have not considered the ethical implications of artificial intelligence (AI), another on the steps taken by an institution to develop and implement a library chatbot, and one on the developments in AI-assisted music creation as well as the resultant challenges regarding copyright and cataloging work.

Despite ongoing efforts to improve database accessibility, aggregated database vendors concede that they do not have complete control over document accessibility. Instead, they point to the responsibility of journal publishers to deliver articles in an accessible format. This may increase the likelihood that users with disabilities will encounter articles that are not compatible with a screen reader. To better understand the extent of the problem, a document accessibility audit was conducted of randomly selected articles from EBSCO's Library & Information Source database. Full-text articles from 12 library science journals were evaluated against two measures of screen reader compatibility: HTML format (the optimal format for screen readers) and PDF accessibility conformance. Findings showed inconsistencies in HTML format availability for articles in the selected journals. Additionally, the entire sample of PDF articles failed to meet the minimum standard of PDF Universal Accessibility of containing a tagged structure. To study library guides, as published on Springshare's LibGuides platform, new approaches are needed to expand the scope of the research, ensure comprehensiveness of data collection, and reduce bias for content analysis. Computational methods can be utilized to conduct a nuanced and thorough evaluation that critically assesses the resources promoted in library guides. Web-based library guides are curated by librarians to provide easy access to high-quality information and resources in a variety of formats to support the research needs of their users. Recent scholarship considers library guides as valuable resources and as de facto publications, highlighting the need for critical study. In this article, the authors present a novel model for comprehensively gathering data about a specific genre of books from individual LibGuide pages and applying computational methods to explore the resultant data. Beginning with a pre-selected list of 159 books, we programmatically queried the titles using the LibGuides Community search engine. After cleaning and filtering the resultant data, we compiled a list of 20,484 book references (of which 6,212 are unique) on 1,529 LibGuide pages. By testing against inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure relevancy, we identified a total of 281 titles relevant to our topic. To gain insights for future study, citation analysis metrics are presented to reveal patterns of frequency, co-occurrence, and bibliographic coupling of books promoted in LibGuides. This proof-of-concept could be adopted for a variety of applications, including assessment of collections, public services, critical librarianship, and other complex questions to enable a richer and more thorough understanding of the information landscape of LibGuides. The Executive Council of the International Society of Biomechanics has initiated and overseen the commemorations of the Society's 50th Anniversary in 2023. This included multiple series of lectures at the ninth World Congress of Biomechanics in 2022 and XXIXth Congress of the International Society of Biomechanics in 2023, all linked to special issues of International Society of Biomechanics' affiliated journals. This special issue of the Journal of Applied Biomechanics is dedicated to the biomechanics of the neuromusculoskeletal system. The reader is encouraged to explore this special issue which comprises 6 papers exploring the current state-of the-art, and future directions and roles for neuromusculoskeletal biomechanics. This editorial presents a very brief history of the science of the neuromusculoskeletal system's 4 main components: the central nervous system, musculotendon units, the musculoskeletal system, and joints, and how they biomechanically integrate to enable an understanding of the generation and control of human movement. Background: Nurse-patient relationships are an integral component of person-centred palliative care. Greater understanding of how nurse-patient relationships are fostered and perceived by patients and nurses can be used to inform nursing practice. Aim: To systematically identify and synthesise how nurse-patient relationships are fostered in specialist inpatient palliative care settings, and how nurse-patient relationships were perceived by patients and nurses. Design: Integrative review with narrative synthesis. The review protocol was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42022336148, updated April, 2023). Data Sources: Five electronic databases (PubMed, CINAHL Complete, Medline, Web of Science and PsycINFO) were searched for articles published from their inception to December 2023. Studies were included if they (i) examined nurse and/or patient perspectives and experiences of nurse-patient relationships in specialist inpatient palliative care, (ii) were published in English in a (iii) peer-reviewed journal. The Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool was used to evaluate study quality. Data were synthesised using narrative synthesis. Results: Thirty-four papers from 31 studies were included in this review. Studies were mostly qualitative and were of high methodological quality. Four themes were identified: (a) creating connections; (b) fostering meaningful patient engagement; (c) negotiating choices and (d) building trust. Conclusions: Nurses and patients are invested in the nurse-patient relationship, benefitting when it is positive, therapeutic and both parties are valued partners in the care. Key elements of fostering the nurse-patient relationship in palliative care were revealed, however, the dominance of the nurses' perspectives signifies that the nature and impact of these relationships may not be well understood. Nurse administrators and leaders are key influencers and supporters to bolster expertise and resources to publish. We report evidence of an undocumented method to manipulate citation counts involving "sneaked" references. Sneaked references are registered as metadata for published scientific articles in which they do not appear. This manipulation exploits trusted relationships between various actors: publishers, the Crossref metadata registration agency, digital libraries, and bibliometric platforms. By collecting metadata from various sources, we show that extra undue references are actually sneaked in at Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registration time, resulting in artificially inflated citation counts. As a case study, focusing on three journals from a given publisher, we identified at least 9% sneaked references (5978⁄65,836) mainly benefiting two authors. Despite not being present in the published articles, these sneaked references exist in metadata registries and inappropriately propagate to bibliometric dashboards. Furthermore, we discovered "lost" references: the studied bibliometric platform failed to index at least 56% (36,939/65,836) of the references present in the HTML version of the publications. This research led to an investigation by Crossref (confirming our findings) and to subsequent corrective actions. The extent of the distortion—due to sneaked and lost references—in the global literature remains unknown and requires further investigations. Bibliometric platforms producing citation counts should identify, quantify, and correct these flaws to provide accurate data to their patrons and prevent further citation gaming. Article content and author characteristics were analysed in the articles published in the British Journal of Guidance and Counselling (BJGC) from 2000–2019 to determine trends over time. The BJGC publishes more total articles and guidance and counselling research articles annually than any other guidance and counselling journal except the Journal of Counseling & Development. The University of Leeds was the leading institutional contributor. The proportion of UK and non-university-affiliated lead authors declined, while the proportion of women authors and collaboration increased. More research-based articles are being published, about 55% of which use qualitative approaches, and 12% of which evaluate guidance and counselling interventions. There is a paucity of counselling scholarship investigating the trends in writing about Black life and experiences in the US. The purpose of this study was to explore the topics and themes of the articles related to Black Americans, published in American Counseling Association (ACA)-affiliated journals over a span of 24 years. Accordingly, we conducted a content analysis of both conceptual and empirical articles. A total of 348 articles focusing on Black Americans were categorised into the following content areas: frequency of publications by journal and year, target populations, methodologies and topics of interest. Based on the results, we have suggested strengths and limitations of the current scholarship focused on Black Americans. Implications for professional counsellors and research are discussed. Over a decade ago, in the 100th issue of Health Communication (Volume 25, issues 6–7); 2010), 30 "impact" articles addressed how our collective research findings had been translated to make a positive difference for persons across diverse communities. It is laudable to develop projects helping others to enhance their awareness about healthy living, refine practical communication skills to promote behavioral change, and rely on findings to enact important practices and policies giving priority to how well and long we live in contemporary society. As a preview, however, an article entitled "Why is it so difficult to talk about impact?" raised a series of inherent challenges faced whenever we conduct our research to advance basic knowledge by pursuing meaningful translation opportunities. These efforts are constrained in various ways: A lack of motivation, ability, and training to envision and implement protocols beneficial for the public good; the need to procure adequate resources (e.g., time and money) for sustaining longitudinal investigations; dealing with misconceptions that "applied" communication research has less value than "basic" studies; and creating and managing cross-disciplinary collaborations necessary to achieve project goals. When designing interventions to change others' lives in meaningful ways, attention must also be given to balancing community outreach while avoiding unnecessary self-promotion and imposition of social scientific priorities. In this study, we conducted a bibliometric and altmetric analysis of the top 100 most-cited articles on religion from 2010 to 2023. The data were sourced from the Web of Science Core Collection database. VOSviewer was utilized to create visualization knowledge maps such as co-authorship, co-citation, and keywords co-occurrence analysis, and the Spearman correlation analysis was performed to determine the relationships between the variables. The results indicate that these articles were published in 22 journals by 231 authors in 158 institutions across 24 countries. Most of the articles were published from the USA. Kenneth I. Pargament and Harold G. Koenig were identified as two of the most prominent scholars, while the Journal of Religion and Health and the Psychology of Religion and Spirituality emerged as the most productive and influential journals. The citations for these articles span a range of 45 to 828, whereas the altmetric attention scores (AAS) vary from 1 to 797. The Spearman correlation analysis revealed that the AAS is weakly positively correlated with the article influence score (AIS) ( r = 0.285 ) and weakly negatively correlated with the number of years since publication (NYsP) ( r = - 0.233 ), but is not significantly correlated with other bibliometric indicators; however, it is posited that the importance of the AAS may increase over time as the influence of social media continues to expand. In this commentary, I reflect on the papers in this special issue that describe inclusion in five countries. More specifically, I highlight several themes among the authors' descriptions of both progress and challenges as their respective countries try to provide students with disabilities a stronger, more inclusive educational experience. I compare and contrast this effort to efforts in the United States to properly understand and implement an inclusive education that benefits all children and youth with disabilities. The adoption of open science practices (OSPs) is crucial for promoting transparency and robustness in research. We conducted a systematic review to assess the frequency and trends of OSPs in psychometric studies focusing on measures of suicidal thoughts and behavior. We analyzed publications from two international databases, examining the use of OSPs such as open access publication, preregistration, provision of open materials, and data sharing. Our findings indicate a lack of adherence to OSPs in psychometric studies of suicide. The majority of manuscripts were published under restricted access, and preregistrations were not utilized. The provision of open materials and data was rare, with limited access to instruments and analysis scripts. Open access versions (preprints/postprints) were scarce. The low adoption of OSPs in psychometric studies of suicide calls for urgent action. Background and Aims: The human gastrointestinal system hosts a rich and diverse microbial community, surpassing a staggering 10[ 14 ] bacteria, collectively harbouring more than 5,000,000 genes. The aim of this study is to carry out a systematic review of human studies in order to investigate the correlation between the gut microbiota and pancreatic disorders. Materials and Methods: To systematically compile relevant research between 2011 and 2022, a thorough exploration of the MEDLINE and EMBASE databases was executed. The initial search results, encompassing all identified studies, were meticulously scrutinised, including a comprehensive review of their reference lists to ensure the completeness of our search. Initially, our search strategy yielded a total of 114 items. Subsequent refinement involved the removal of 58 duplicate articles identified in both searches. Following a meticulous screening process involving title, abstract and keyword assessments, 36 studies progressed to the next phase of evaluation. However, this cohort underwent further scrutiny, leading to the exclusion of 11 studies categorised as reviews or case reports, 5 in languages other than English that have been published and 20 that did not investigate the microbiome. As a result, a focused set of 20 papers emerged for in-depth evaluation for eligibility. Results: The demographic profile of the patients revealed that nearly half were men, with an average age of 52 years (interquartile range of 44-56). The interquartile range further ranged from 45% to 52%, reflecting the distribution of ages within the group. Among the studies scrutinising acute pancreatitis, gallstones emerged as the predominant cause in 9 out of 15, while 7 studies focusing on chronic pancreatitis found no evidence of gallstones. Conclusion: This comprehensive, systematic investigation has furnished robust evidence substantiating the intricate connection between pancreatitis and the microbiota. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Dr Bhagwan Din Chaurasia is a legend in Indian Anatomy education. Being his student in 1977–78, I saw him closely and was inspired immensely to write his biography to pay my homage and tribute to this great 'guru'. Methods: Apart from my first-hand information and experience with Dr Chaurasia, I did extensive research on PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar databases to extract his research publications. I also extracted his personal information from his old students at Gajra Raja Medical College, Gwalior (India), some of the main ones have been acknowledged in this paper. Results: Despite a shortened life, Dr Chaurasia's influence on the field remains immense. His book, Human Anatomy has been an essential guide for countless medical students around the world. He was not only a gifted teacher but also, a dedicated researcher, actively publishing in prestigious journals. Conclusion: Dr Chaurasia's legacy is a testament to the power of clear explanations, innovative teaching methods, and unwavering passion for Anatomy. The name Dr B. D. The 50th anniversary of the Journal of Gerontological Nursing is a milestone that calls for reflection on the many important contributions made by our clinicians, educators, and researchers to the care of older adults. This article was written to highlight not only the issues that have been the focus of our professional attention but also the accomplishments that gerontological nurses have made during the past half century. Edna Stilwell, the inaugural editor, laid out nine objectives for the journal in the first issue, which was published in 1975. Using those objectives as a lens to our past, the >400 editorials written from 1975 to the present are summarized and discussed using the framework Stilwell provided. The gerontological nurses who wrote these editorials were visionaries whose efforts advanced and continue to advance the quality of care that nurses provide to older adults today. Scholarly publications play a vital role in the advancement of psychotherapy, as a creative treatment strategy and as an empirically supported approach. The best scholarly articles integrate scientific methodology and clinical practice. Unfortunately, many mental health professionals devote their work responsibilities to one domain or the other, choosing to become academic researchers or full-time clinicians. The Psyche Awards were developed to highlight the most valuable journal articles that were published during the previous year. A total of 168 journals were screened to identify 128 interesting and useful articles, which were then sorted into 13 award categories. In the last year, there have been many remarkable articles published in the Italian Journal of Pediatrics. This review highlights papers that can be potentially helpful in healthcare practice among the most cited or accessed papers on the journal website. We have chosen key articles on allergy, analgesics, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, genetics, global health, infectious diseases, neonatology, neurology and pulmonology. Advances in understanding risk factors, mechanisms, diagnosis, treatment options and prevention of pediatric diseases have been discussed and in the context of the subsequent steps. Background: The search for neuroprotective treatments for Parkinson's disease (PD) still relies largely on motor disability scales. A limitation of these tools is the strong influence of symptomatic dopaminergic treatment effects. Drawing on a wealth of published information, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of motor progression in PD and its relationships with dopaminergic therapy. Methods: We searched Medline, Embase, and Central to identify 84 publications with adequate serial motor scores to calculate progression, expressed as an increase in the percentage of maximum disability. Results: A random-effects model showed motor progression at 2.0% p.a. (95% CI 1.7–2.4%). There were no significant differences by baseline age, sample size, or observation period. However, untreated patients, in 8 publications, progressed at 4.5% p.a. compared to 1.6% p.a. in 76 studies containing individuals on dopaminergic drugs (p = 0.0004, q = 0.003). This was supported by research on phenoconversion in prodromal PD, where motor progression exceeded 5% p.a. in the 2 years before diagnosis. Starting levodopa improved pre-treatment disability by 40.3 ± 15.2%. Practically defined off state measurements increase faster than on scores by a modest degree (p = 0.05). Conclusion: This survey suggests that accurate long-term measurements of motor progression to assess disease-modifying therapies can be conducted despite the sequential commencement of dopaminergic drugs and sample attrition over time. While study designs involving prodromal or untreated PD avoid confounding effects of symptomatic treatment, different assumptions about motor progression may be needed. A job-exposure matrix (JEM) is a tool that can estimate diesel engine exhaust (DEE) exposures. JEMs based on expert judgment or measurement data are limited by the information available at the time of development. Over time, more information about hazardous exposures is understood through additional measurements and peer-reviewed publications. This study presents a systematic approach to updating an existing DEE JEM using published data to better reflect current scientific knowledge. The literature was searched for occupational exposure studies that measured DEE as elemental carbon (EC) between January 2010 and May 2022. Four-digit North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 2002 and National Occupational Classification-Statistics (NOC-S) 2006 codes were assigned to each identified subgroup within the studies. EC exposures were categorized as low (0–10 µg/m3), moderate (10–20 µg/m3), or high (>20 µg/m3). Weighted arithmetic means were calculated for each industry-occupation intersection (IOI) identified in the literature. These means were used to adjust, or retain, the existing exposure level within the JEM cells using a decision tree based on the number of studies, workplace locations, and pooled sample size of the weighted mean. Concordance was measured between the updated JEM (Diesel Exhaust in Canada JEM (DEC-JEM)), the previous (existing) JEM, and the Canadian Job-Exposure Matrix (CANJEM). Thirty-seven studies were identified from the published literature reporting on 53 unique IOIs (20 NAICS and 34 NOC-S codes), including occupations in the mining, construction, and transportation industries. Exposure levels for 66% of identified IOIs increased, most in construction and mining. After the decision tree's results were expanded to the full DEC-JEM, the exposure level of 486 IOIs (12.5% of DEC-JEM) and 286,710 workers (15.8% of DEE-exposed workers) increased. There was a significant correlation between qualitative exposure levels in the updated DEC-JEM and CANJEM (Kendall's τ = 0.364, p < 0.001). This study describes a systematic approach to updating an existing JEM to incorporate new scientific knowledge. The updated DEC-JEM better reflects existing exposure knowledge in several industries, particularly construction. Objective: This study provides a comprehensive overview of the knowledge structure and research hotspots regarding barriers and strategies for the implementation of clinical practice guidelines. Methods: Publications on barriers and strategies for guideline implementation were searched for on Web of Science Core Collection from database inception to October 24, 2022. R package bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace were used to conduct the analysis. Results: The search yielded 21,768 records from 3,975 journals by 99,998 authors from 3,964 institutions in 186 countries between 1983 and 2022. The number of published papers had a roughly increasing trend annually. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada contributed the majority of records. The University of Toronto, the University of Washington, and the University of Sydney were the biggest node in their cluster on the collaboration network map. The three journals that published the greatest number of relevant studies were Implementation Science, BMJ Open, and BMC Health Services Research. Grimshaw JM was the author with the most published articles, and was the second most co-cited author. Research hotspots in this field focused on public health and education, evidence-based medicine and quality promotion, diagnosis and treatment, and knowledge translation and barriers. Challenges and barriers, as well as societal impacts and inequalities, are likely to be key directions for future research. Conclusions: This is the first bibliometric study to comprehensively summarize the research trends of research on barriers and strategies for clinical practice guideline implementation. Skin cancer (SC) is one of the three most common cancers worldwide. Melanoma has the deadliest potential to spread to other parts of the body among all SCs. For SC treatments to be effective, early detection is essential. The high degree of similarity between tumor and non-tumors makes SC diagnosis difficult even for experienced doctors. To address this issue, authors have developed a novel Deep Learning (DL) system capable of automatically classifying skin lesions into seven groups: actinic keratosis (AKIEC), melanoma (MEL), benign keratosis (BKL), melanocytic Nevi (NV), basal cell carcinoma (BCC), dermatofibroma (DF), and vascular (VASC) skin lesions. Authors introduced the Multi-Grained Enhanced Deep Cascaded Forest (Mg-EDCF) as a novel DL model. In this model, first, researchers utilized subsampled multigrained scanning (Mg-sc) to acquire micro features. Second, authors employed two types of Random Forest (RF) to create input features. Finally, the Enhanced Deep Cascaded Forest (EDCF) was utilized for classification. The HAM10000 dataset was used for implementing, training, and evaluating the proposed and Transfer Learning (TL) models such as ResNet, AlexNet, and VGG16. During the validation and training stages, the performance of the four networks was evaluated by comparing their accuracy and loss. The proposed method outperformed the competing models with an average accuracy score of 98.19%. Our proposed methodology was validated against existing state-of-the-art algorithms from recent publications, resulting in consistently greater accuracies than those of the classifiers. Introduction: Many papers reporting on QI projects are not publishable for a variety of reasons. We compared manuscripts submitted as QI reports between June 2014 and June 2016 (prior to publication of the revised Standards for Quality Improvement Reporting Excellence (SQUIRE 2.0) with papers submitted to the American Journal of Nursing between July 2016 and December 2022). The aim was to evaluate any changes in the quality of manuscripts and identify problems that led to rejection; we also compared the quality of students with non‐student submissions. Methods: We conducted a non‐randomized descriptive study to evaluate 349 papers submitted as QI project reports between June 2014 and December 2022 using screening templates based on the SQUIRE 2.0 checklist and findings of the INANE Working Group on Student Papers. Results: Manuscripts designated as QI reports accepted for publication increased from 4% during 2014–2016 (T1) to 14% during 2016–2022 (T2); one student submission was accepted. There was a slight decrease in submissions designated as QI that were not QI: 36% of student submissions during T1 and 31% of student submissions during T2. Among clinician submissions, 44% in T1 designated as QI reports were not QI versus 31% submitted during T2. There was a decrease in student submissions that followed the SQUIRE guidelines (36% during T1 to 24% during T2). Conclusions: Findings demonstrate that by following the SQUIRE 2.0 guidelines, authors submit more complete manuscripts with fewer missing components. However, there are still misconceptions about what constitutes QI versus research and how to report QI initiatives. After comparing the findings from both periods, it is noteworthy that there is essentially the same level of inaccuracy and lack of acceptable manuscripts. Clinical Relevance: Sharing findings from QI activities through presentations and publications is a vital way of helping spread the learnings from these projects and improve health care for a wider audience. Clinicians, academicians, and students must understand the elements of the SQUIRE guidelines and ensure that this framework is used for both designing and submitting QI projects for publication.
