While other publications provide insight into the overall trajectory of the published literature on music information literacy, instruction-related presentations and poster sessions at MLA meetings are a key part of the scholarly record that have been overlooked. As information literacy has expanded to occupy a prominent role in the broader practice of librarianship, the consistent increase in the numbers of MLA posters and presentations on this topic reflects the growth of a community of music information literacy practitioners. This article will demonstrate the ways that presentations and posters intersect with and expand upon foundational documents like the ACRL Framework, the published scholarship of music IL, and the work of the MLA Instruction Subcommittee. The article is organized chronologically into three sections: Laying the Foundation (1978-1999); From the Standards to the Framework (2000-2016); and Teaching with the Framework (2017-2024). On 25–26 March 2023, the U.S. National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) held its 2024 annual meeting in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. The NCRP dates from 1929, and this meeting celebrated the 60th anniversary of receiving a U.S. Congressional Charter. For this annual meeting the NCRP felt it was essential to provide a briefing about advanced and small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). The Journal of Radiological Protection is delighted to publish the following synopsis of material presented at the U.S. NCRP meeting. This synopsis is divided into five sections. The first section provides an overview of the whole meeting together with summaries of two context setting overview papers. The following four sessions of this synopsis are specific to advanced and small modular nuclear power reactors. The meeting also included keynote presentations by three of NCRP annual award recipients. The meeting topical areas were Technology Overview and Critical Issues. The individual papers laid the groundwork to understanding reactor technologies, terminology, and the fundamental concepts and processes for electrical generation. The perspectives of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and states, through the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors were provided. The papers included a discussion of diverse topics including potential emergency preparedness considerations, radiological survey requirements, an evaluation of the future of nuclear power, the economics of reactors (both large and small), and the critical issues identified by the recent National Academies of Sciences' study on advanced reactors. The summary papers were developed to briefly document the major points and concepts presented during the oral papers presented at the 2024 NCRP Annual Meeting. Wheat has been an important part of the human diet for millennia. The increase in demand for wheat grown organically in the United States and globally reflects the growing interest in organic food and food products. A symposium on organic wheat production was held during the annual meeting of the American Society of Agronomy in Baltimore, MD, during 2021. Presenters discussed the state‐of‐the‐science on organic wheat research. Papers were solicited following the symposium for inclusion in this special section. As a result, five papers are included in this special section: four focus on organic wheat research in North America while one discusses results of a European study. Core Ideas: Demand is increasing for wheat grown organically.A need exists for research to solve problems encountered by organic wheat growers.Results of research discussed in five papers can be used to guide future research on organic wheat production. The 46th meeting of the Upper Midwest Neuro-Ophthalmology Group (UMNOG), held on July 26, 2024, and hosted by Northwestern University at Chicago, brought together a group of neuro-ophthalmologists, researchers, and trainees. This conference served as a forum for presenting research findings, illustrating challenging cases in clinical practice, and discussing them from an expert viewpoint. Key topics included visual outcomes following the treatment of various optic neuropathies, and advancements in diagnostic techniques, including the integration of machine learning. Case demonstrations covered a wide range of afferent and efferent neuro-ophthalmological conditions, primarily related to systemic illnesses and novel treatments. This revision of the da Vinci Medal Address delivered at SHOT's annual meeting in Los Angeles on October 28 2023 presents two valedictories. The first reviews fifty years in SHOT studying and teaching the history of technology and warfare. It argues that not only is technology a particularly useful category of analysis for understanding change in warfare over the course of human history but warfare is an equally useful category of analysis for studying technological change. The second valedictory invites SHOT members to clarify what they mean by the term "technology." In the past decade, there has been an increasing focus within scientific research on how to assist people affected by the negative consequences of trauma and crises around the globe. As many countries struggle with a lack of resources to deliver mental health interventions, scalable strategies have been developed to help more people in need. These scalable strategies were the theme of the 39th annual meeting of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS). The presidential panel, chaired by Marit Sijbrandij during her ISTSS presidency, brought together a group of experts in the field of scalable interventions: Kenneth Carswell, Syed Usman Hamdani, Judy Bass, and Eirini Karyotaki. The panel highlighted the current state of the evidence on scalable interventions for adults and children and outlined important next steps for research and implementation. These recommendations include further improving the availability of, and evidence for, scalable interventions through increased training and sustained funding; conducting more studies in underrepresented samples, such as children and adolescents; and promoting open access availability of research findings worldwide. This is a conceptual overview of a premeeting institute (PMI) I presented at the 39th International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS) annual meeting in November 2023 entitled, "A Functional Approach to Repairing Moral Injury and Traumatic Loss in Context: Evidence, Change Agents, Clinical Strategies, and Lessons Learned." This paper was invited by the co‐chairs of the Scientific Program Committee, Isaac Galatzer‐Levy and Katharina Schultebraucks. I first describe the aims of the PMI and then summarize the foundational assumptions that led me to expand adaptive disclosure and create adaptive disclosure–enhanced (AD‐E). The foundational assumptions are that (a) moral injury is a unique measurable potential clinical problem, (b) moral injury damages the sustaining building blocks to personal and collective humanity, and (c) repairing moral injury requires corrective humanizing and virtuous experiences and connections. I then provide an overview of AD‐E and describe two new change agents— loving–kindness meditation and letter writing—that augment the original AD in service of promoting corrective experiences in the social world that are valued, valuing, and promote the experience of belonging. More than 20 years that have elapsed since the inaugural American College of Medical Toxicology Spring Conference in 2002. During this time, the now ACMT Annual Scientific Meeting has grown in many ways, as demonstrated by the increase in attendance and abstract submissions, and diversification of educational offerings, and partners. Most importantly, the scientific rigor and presentation of new knowledge has continued to mature, and the conference is now firmly rooted in the annual educational schedule for medical toxicologists. Patient research partners (PRPs) have been actively participating in the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) annual meetings, working groups, and research activities since 2013. As they have evolved, the PRPs operate as a cohesive group supported by their GRAPPA-approved handbook and policy documents. The number of involved PRPs has increased, allowing more opportunity for the incorporation of the patient voice and experience in GRAPPA activities. In the GRAPPA proceedings, PRPs regularly report on their involvement in the meetings and research projects. During a 30-minute plenary session at the GRAPPA 2023 annual meeting, attendees were informed about the evolving roles of PRPs in GRAPPA and beyond and were asked to provide feedback on their experience and opinions regarding PRP involvement in psoriatic disease research. The East African Society of Physiological Sciences (EASPS) identified many problems associated with the practice and impact of physiology training and graduates within the region. The EASPS, in conjunction with the African Association of Physiological Sciences (AAPS), resolved to tackle those identified problems in the region by organizing a regional conference in Tanzania between November 29, 2023, and December 1, 2023. The conference was successful with remarkable achievements, including production of Physiology Curriculum for African Universities (PhysioCAFUN); launching of the International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS) African Physiology Mentoring Program; educational workshops on physiology teaching and skills acquisition; plenary sessions on various inspiring scientific topics for advancement of research capacities and current trends in physiological sciences; presentation of abstracts by authors and publishing of the abstracts as edited conference proceedings in the Journal of African Association of Physiological Sciences; presentation of awards to the top 10 abstracts and 7 other key Local Organizing Committee members and partners; first annual general meeting of the EASPS members; networking of participants within and beyond Africa; and recognition of the formation processes of national physiological societies in Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. This essay examines how internationalization has been a part of the history of the History of Science Society (HSS) from its establishment in 1924 to the present. Although the HSS remains a US-based society and its annual meetings are held primarily in the US, attended by mostly US-based scholars, we argue that there has always been a strong commitment to internationalism that continues to this day. We walk through the hundred years of the Society in four phases, namely the Sarton years (1924–52), the coming-of-age of the field in America (1953–88), the opening up of the HSS to the world (1989–99), and the new millennium (2000–present). We end with a concluding section to elucidate how the Society has transitioned beyond Sarton as it goes into its second centenary. Our sources of evidence include interviews with select past HSS presidents, founders and chairs of HSS interest groups and forums, statistics of HSS membership to be found in the Smithsonian archives and HSS Newsletters , and distribution and patterns of Society-awarded prizes. We also take note of the growing numbers of roundtables and panels on global and non-Western history of science at HSS annual meetings since the 2010s. Purpose of the Study: After two years of virtual meetings, the Barrels Meeting resumed to an in-person format on 10 and 11 November 2022 in La Jolla California. Materials and Methods: The meeting focused on the rodent sensorimotor system, with a focus on integrated information from the cellular to the systems level. A series of invited and selected oral presentations were delivered in addition to a poster session. Results: The latest results in the whisker-to-barrel pathway were discussed. Presentations included how the system encodes peripheral information, motor planning, and is disrupted in neurodevelopmental disorders. There is a resurgent enthusiasm for Indigenous Knowledges (IK) across settler–colonial institutions of research, education, and conservation. But like fitting a square peg in a round hole, IK are being forced into colonial systems, and then only as marginal alternatives. To address this mismatch, the Traditional Ecological Knowledge Section of the Ecological Society of America (ESA) hosted a 2‐day workshop—entitled Elevating Indigenous Knowledges in Ecology—at the 2022 ESA Annual Meeting, which was held on Kanien'keháka (Mohawk) and Ho‐de‐no‐sau‐nee‐ga (Haudenosaunee) territories in Montreal, Canada. This gathering of 21 interdisciplinary Indigenous ecologists included scholars from across the career and professional spectrum. By consensus, workshop participants (including the authors of this article) identified four emergent themes and respective guiding questions as a pathway toward the transformation of settler–colonial institutions into IK‐led spaces. We highlight this pathway to support actions toward systemic change, inspire future directions for Indigenous and non‐Indigenous ecologists, and nurture stronger relationships between Indigenous communities and the Western sciences, toward actualized decoloniality. Abnormal findings in the biliary tree are frequently encountered in response to acute and chronic exposures to various compounds. The more common findings are described here in an overview of previous publications such as the INHAND Proliferative and Nonproliferative Lesions of the Rodent Liver and the Liver-Nonneoplastic Lesion Atlas NTP with comments regarding current considerations. This was presented at the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Society of Toxicologic Pathology. Histologic descriptions and some discussions regarding the pathogenesis of the various categories of non-neoplastic lesions in the biliary tree are presented. The 44th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Apheresis was successfully held in Morioka City, Japan from October 20-22, 2023. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and out-of-season influenza infections, the format of the event was difficult to decide on. Ultimately, the decision was made to hold the conference completely on-site in order to facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration. The meeting focused on the target diseases and substances of apheresis therapy, with various lectures and symposia addressing topics such as phagocytic removal therapy, uremic toxins, and the development of apheresis for the next generation. Background: The increasing number of women physicians is in contrast to their underrepresentation in academic positions and professional associations. This study aimed to evaluate the status of women physicians in the Japanese Society of Hospital General Medicine (JHGM) based on society membership, board membership, and annual meeting authorship. Methods: A cross‐sectional analysis was conducted. Information on women physicians, society and board membership, and annual meeting authorship was collected. Data from the Japanese Primary Care Association (JPCA) served as the control. The gender of authors with accepted abstracts in the JHGM and JPCA annual meetings was determined by name or Internet search. Results: In the JHGM, 14.2% of members were women physicians, compared to 19.1% in the JPCA (p < 0.001). None of the 21 JHGM board members were women, compared to 20.5% in the JPCA (p < 0.001). The average number of years of experience was significantly higher for the JHGM board members than for the JPCA board members (37.0 vs. 28.1 years, p < 0.001). Women first authors in the 2022–2023 JHGM meeting comprised 17.9%, significantly lower than the 28.4% in the 2023 JPCA meeting (p = 0.002). Similar patterns were seen for women last authors (6.0% in the JHGM vs. 18.8% in the JPCA, p < 0.001) and women chairpersons (17.9% in the JHGM vs. 40.3% in the JPCA, p = 0.036). Conclusions: The JHGM has low women representation in society and board membership, and annual meeting authorship. Strategies are needed to enhance diversity and inclusion by increasing women's participation and leadership in the JHGM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In June 2024, the Endocrine Feedback Loop podcast recorded its fiftieth episode at the annual meeting of the Endocrine Society. Launched in May 2020, the podcast serves as a way for listeners to hear a critical analysis of recent and impactful research studies published in clinical journals of the Endocrine Society. The podcast follows methods proven effective in traditional journal clubs and adapts them to reach a wide audience with different levels of expertise in endocrinology.
