Consumers' growing awareness of environmental protection and carbon regulations enacted by the government based on strengthened environmental pressure are forcing manufacturers to curb carbon emissions. This paper considers a manufacturer investing in green technology to reduce carbon emissions under the cap-and-trade regulation, selling products to consumers through a direct channel and an online retail platform. The platform could choose to operate either in an agency mode or a reselling mode. A three-stage game is constructed to examine the interactions between the manufacturer's investment and the platform's operation mode under the cap-and-trade regulation, as well as the influences of the regulation on the interactions, and the supply chain coordination. The findings suggest that green technology investment in either operation mode leads to Pareto improvement in profits of both the platform and the manufacturer, and the investment induces the platform to prefer the reselling mode. Besides, the cap-and-trade regulation encourages the platform to opt for the agency mode, while the investment could mitigate the influence of the regulation on the platform's mode choice, with greater investment efficiency resulting in better mitigation. Global knowledge flows are not only important in promoting economic activities but also in addressing global environmental issues. In order to examine the mechanisms of how firms in emerging economies can learn from global partners in finding solutions to environmental challenges, we explore a rich data set covering nearly 190,595 Chinese firms and analyze the knowledge flows that local firms received from foreign firms in developing eco-innovations. We examine both knowledge flows in the same industry and those in the up- and down-stream industries, and, in particular, provide a nuanced consideration around the under-explored industrial conditions and regional institutions of technology spillovers and domestic eco-innovation. We find clear evidence that foreign green technology spillovers have a positive impact on the eco-innovation of domestic firms in China. This superior performance is particularly pronounced in certain industries (e.g., technology-intensive, pollution-intensive, and highly competitive) and cities with higher levels of environmental regulation stringency. This study discusses how Bangladeshi libraries have adopted green methods to protect the environment, focusing on the Dhaka University Library (DUL), while exploring the associated opportunities and challenges. As there is no library in the country that is LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified, this study outlines how the DUL can be transformed into a green library and aims to inspire other libraries to implement similar techniques. The work also provides a framework for libraries that are designing a new green building, renovating existing structures, and educating the public and library professionals about the benefits of creating and operating sustainable green libraries for both the users and the environment. A mixed-methods research design drives the study with 404 DUL patrons and 15 staff members participating in surveys and face-to-face interviews. This study revealed important perceptions of the DUL users and library professionals toward a green library. Finally, it identifies several challenges, including a lack of knowledge about green technology, budget constraints, low public awareness, and insufficient willingness among users and staff. In addition, the study highlights some opportunities, such as offering a healthy indoor and outdoor environment and initiating a project that could inspire other libraries to adopt green practices, with a particular focus on DUL. The insights gained from this study would help the DUL execute a green library concept and pave the way for further research on green libraries in Bangladesh.

Taking the implementation of China's Stock Connect program as a quasi-natural experiment, we use the difference-in-differences (DID) method to document the relationship between the capital market opening up and corporate green technology innovation from 2007 to 2020. The results show that the capital market opening up significantly promotes corporate green technology innovation by reducing financing constraints and raising firms' environmental protection awareness. However, this effect is more pronounced in non-state-owned enterprises and enterprises with higher initial productivity, higher regional marketization degree, or fiercer industrial market competition. Additionally, by improving corporate green technology innovation, the capital market opening up can further promote the total factor productivity of firms. Under the drive of China's carbon neutral target policy, informatization has become an effective means for China to coordinate economic development and achieve a low-carbon pathway. Taking China's information benefiting people pilot policy in 2014 as a quasi-natural experiment, we deploy a difference-in-differences regression to investigate how informatization affects carbon emission efficiency (CEE) in 282 cities in China. We find that information benefiting people pilot policy effectively promotes CEE. Further, for China as a whole, the information benefiting people policy will enhance CEE by promoting green technology innovation; for developed eastern regions, both green technology innovation and digital financial inclusion are well-mediated positive transmission variables. Taken together, the findings of this paper fill the academic gaps for the green effect of informatization policy and help the government to provide valuable references for effective guidance on CEE improvement. Objective: This study focused on the development of a new‐to‐world ingredient harnessing the natural potential of fresh Jasminum grandiflorum flowers to self‐ferment by its phytobiome revealing flower content. Analytical investigations were conducted to highlight specific phytocompounds generated during the natural fermentation of flowers in comparison to a conventional extraction. The synergy with another extraction technology maximized the generation of biocompounds for an interesting efficacy. Methods: Jasmine extract was elaborated by combining two patented technologies: the phytofermentology™, inspired by plant–microorganisms interaction and designed to develop ingredients obtained by natural fermentation of the vegetal using its own phytobiota; and the PSR™ technology allowing the extraction of bioactive phytocompounds such as small RNAs from plants. Results: Analytical investigations of Jasmine extract highlighted uniqueness and richness of the phytocompound profiles, such as organics acids and phenolic compounds, markers of fermentation only obtained after phytofermentology in comparison to conventional extraction. Jasmine extract has the particularity to contain jasmintides, flower small peptides belonging to the family of cysteine‐rich peptides (CRPs). Antioxidant and global anti‐ageing properties were investigated in cell‐free assays demonstrating interesting results: about 20% scavenging of free radicals from 0.5% of Jasmine extract and protection from DNA damage of 26% in comparison to a stressed control. Conclusion: Phytofermentology™ technology combined with PSR™ technology, meant to be respectful of the environment, allowed to development of biofunctionals very close to nature with a unique analytical signature as Jasmine extract, using the potential of fresh flowers phytobiota to self‐ferment. The efficacy of the ingredient on global antioxidation and anti‐ageing via hyaluronidase/tyrosinase inhibitions was highlighted by cell‐free evaluation assays. Telecommunication plays a crucial role in the modern society, and its importance in Ghana's rapid digital and economic transformation is very relevant. Ghana is however confronted with huge telecommunication towers doted in the skylines of its major cities with some towers mounted in homes and on roof top of structures. The objective of this research was to investigate the major challenges associated with the urban deployment of the towers and suggest sustainable approach to its deployment. Using quantitative descriptive design, data was collected from the three leading telecommunication companies in Ghana receiving a response rate of 77.6%. Analysis of responses showed that, land acquisition and use challenges, compliance with regulatory and statutory issues, community occupational health issues, neighbourhood challenges and urban planning regulations are the key factors that affect the deployment of towers in Ghana. The research postulates that the urban deployment of telecommunication towers would require an integrated and regulated planning approach that constrains environmental impact, diminishes land use, optimises existing urban infrastructure through co-location and the deployment of advanced technologies such as Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellites, High Altitude Platforms (HAPs) and Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and 5G in managing the growing urban demand for urban telecommunication. A combination of complementary and substitute products are very significant for any business industry to make all-round profit from various prospect. How deterioration affects complementary products or substitute products is discussed in this study. A deterministic production inventory control model for complementary and/or substitute items with a constant deterioration rate is studied. Here a shortage is also allowed. During shortage period, the demand of available item increases due to the shortage of substitute items. Similarly, the demand of available item decreases due to the shortage of complementary items during the said period. The demand is both price and stock dependent and the deteriorated items are salvaged. Here the total profit function consist of sales of product, inventory holding cost, green technology cost, carbon tax, production cost and salvage value. Numerical examples illustrate the theoretical results. The Pontryagin Maximum principle is used to solve the said optimal control inventory model. For the first time under laboratory conditions, the virulence of a unique cypovirus strain, DsCPV-1, which has broad host specificity, was tested on nontarget aquatic organisms (natural species: Gammarus lacustris, Anopheles messeae, Coenagrion lunulatum, Cloeon robusta, Chironomus sp., Ilyocoris cimicoides, and Plea minutissima; laboratory species: Aedes aegypti and Daphnia magna), a terrestrial pollinator species (Apis mellifera), and an entomophage (Podisus maculiventris). The probability of this virus's accumulation in the bodies of invertebrates and of its transmission along a trophic chain was evaluated by two approaches: bioassays and a molecular diagnostic analysis. In the bioassays, there was no significant increase in mortality among all the tested aquatic and terrestrial nontarget species exposed to DsCPV-1 as compared with control groups (no virus). When we fed Podisus maculiventris with caterpillars having active DsCPV-1 infection (i.e., with the virus replicating in the host) no viral replication was observed in bug. No replication was also observed in mosquitos as well as in bee after viral treatment. Thus, the results show that the DsCPV-1 virus has excellent environmental safety toward many invertebrate species and can be recommended for the control of lepidopteran pests in forestry and agriculture as insecticide with light effect on environment. This study investigates the connections among institutional quality (IQ), globalization, technological innovation, and environmental sustainability in China, using time‐series data from 1995 to 2022. The autoregressive distributive lag model (ARDL) and Granger causality, stability, and diagnostics approaches were employed for rigorous data analysis. Results of the ARDL test reveal that IQ and technological innovation have a negative and significant impact on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the long run. In the short run, globalization has an insignificant impact on CO2 emissions; on the other hand, IQ, technological innovation, foreign direct investment, and economic growth significantly affect CO2 emissions in China. The result of Granger causality also confirmed unidirectional causality running from globalization, technological innovation, and IQ toward CO2 emissions. Furthermore, the NARDL analyses supported this research's findings. The study suggests that implementing effective environmental regulations, improving governance, and promoting transparency and accountability can enhance the enforcement of environmental policies. Although allowing the limited short‐term impact of globalization, planned global engagement associated with ecological goals is also recommended. Furthermore, policy recommendations include investing in research and development of green technologies, incentivizing companies to adopt eco‐friendly practices, and supporting startups focused on environmental solutions, which can drive positive change toward environmental sustainability in China. The development of green technology (GT) and green innovation (GI) in green management practices (GMP) is an important key in today's digital and sustainable era. This article discusses how e-learning (EL) acts as an antecedent variable in strengthening green innovation (GI) and the application of green technology (GT) to green management practices(GMP). This study analyzes whether e-learning influences green management practices by mediating green technology and green innovation. This study uses cross-sectional data that collects population data at one point to analyze the prevalence of variables or relationships between variables in the sample. The population consisted of lecturers in higher education in Indonesia. The results show that e-learning influences green innovation, technology, and management practices. Similarly, green innovation and green technology significantly affect green management practices. It is also firmly established that green innovation and technology are effective mediator variables for e-learning and green management practices. Therefore, green management practices in universities cannot ignore the important role of e-learning, investing in green innovation and green technology to support the achievement of sustainable education. The low-carbon city pilot policy (LCCPP) is an important part of achieving "dual carbon" goals and promoting green technology innovation (GTI) in Chinese export enterprises. This study integrates Green Technical Barriers to Trade (GTBTs), LCCPP, and the GTI of exporting enterprises into a unified framework based on data from A-share market Chinese non-financial export enterprises from 2007 to 2021 and discusses how export enterprises should optimize green innovation resource structure with support from LCCPP to facilitate enterprise GTI when facing GTBTs. Several findings are uncovered: (1) GTBTs have a significant negative impact on the GTI of Chinese export enterprises, and the LCCPP significantly mitigates the negative impact of GTBTs on export enterprises' GTI. (2) After distinguishing the heterogeneous characteristics of export enterprises, the moderating effect of the LCCPP becomes even more pronounced in non-state-owned enterprises, general trade enterprises, and enterprises whose export destinations are high-income countries. (3) Further exploration of the moderating effect of the LCCPP with different policy instruments and intensities is needed. We found the best moderating effect on export enterprises' GTI under high policy intensity, and only market-based policy instruments had a significant moderating effect. These findings provide direction for policymakers expanding the pilot scope of low-carbon cities as well as theoretical support for realizing foreign trade growth for sustainable development. Green technology innovation (GTI) has been increasingly adopted by firms worldwide to promote sustainable development, whereas its potential downsides have been largely overlooked. Drawing on moral licensing theory, we devise a framework to reveal the potential dark side of firms' GTI on corporate social responsibility (CSR). We argue that with the global eco-awakening, GTI has been an efficient means for firms to meet their stakeholders' expectations and environmental legitimacy. This may cause a moral licensing effect for senior executives' ethical strategic decision-making, due to their belief that existing GTI could balance the firm's subsequent moral neglect, thereby minimizing firms' CSR. Using the Chinese listed manufacturing firms as a sample, we find empirical support for our prediction. In addition, we investigate how firms' environmental awards and honors may exacerbate the negative impact of GTI on CSR, whereas the presence of women executives may mitigate the relation. Our findings can trigger firms' reflections on GTI's downsides, and contribute to research and practice in comprehensively understanding firms' GTI consequences, CSR decisions, and moral balance. The growing demand for sustainable and healthy practices has led to an increased interest in the electrolyzed water (EW) application. This technology has garnered widespread acceptance as a sanitizer within the food industry. It also enhances the nutritional, functional, and sensory properties of food products to improve quality and safety. This review undertakes a comprehensive review of the recent advancements in electrolysis technology, exploring its applications in fruits and meat industry and its impact on nutritional, functional, microbiological, safety, and sensory characteristics. It is concluded that the EW should be considered an essential component of industrial equipment sanitization and food product decontamination by offering antimicrobial benefits and promoting functional component accumulation. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of EW can be compromised by the presence of organic matter and equipment corrosion. Furthermore, it provides a concise overview of EW generation, elucidates the influential factors governing its production, and delineates prospective directions for research and development in this field. The relentless devastating impacts of global warming and other climate change effects leading to incessant ecological damages have compelled governments across the globe to rethink the pattern of natural resource depletion. This has motivated policymakers, governments, international organizations, and research pundits alike to advocate for a transition to sustainable consumption and production of natural resources. Consequently, there is a growing call for sustainable production and consumption practices, as outlined in Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG‐12). This research probes how natural resource production and consumption facilitate or hinder environmental sustainability in G7 economies from 1996 to 2020. The empirical evidence incorporates green energy, green technology, green finance, environmental tax, financial development, economic growth, and population as control variables within the STIRPAT theoretical framework. Second‐generation estimating techniques are utilized for empirical verification. An outstanding contribution of this study among others is the estimation of the moderating effects of green energy in mitigating the ensuing impact of natural resources on environmental sustainability. The results indicate that both production and consumption of natural resources, particularly coal and oil negatively affect environmental sustainability. Furthermore, green technology, energy, and finance as well as environmental tax are found to play a crucial role in promoting environmental sustainability. Green technology plays significant part in subduing the deteriorating effects of natural resources on the ecosystem. The robustness analyses further buttress the main analyses. Green technology has received continuous attention and facing challenges of transformation because of the growing environmental concern, especially the carbon emissions resulting in global warming. In the Industry 4.0 era, green technology transforms into smart green technology benefits from the convergence with digital technologies. However, little research investigates the role of green and digital technology convergence (GDC) on carbon emission reduction. This study proposes a novel measurement of the GDC level of enterprise based on the network method and examines its pattern and dynamic. Moreover, we empirically analyze the impact of GDC on carbon emission reduction. Results show that GDC has a significant carbon reduction effect. Moreover, GDC reduces enterprises' carbon emissions by improving green innovation quality. Furthermore, an enterprise's technology convergence capability moderates the focal relationship. The heterogeneity analysis results reveal that the carbon reduction effect of GDC is stronger in large, state-owned, non-labor-intensive and heavy-pollution enterprises. This essay examines struggles over a water drainage tunnel as a window into the politics of mining, infrastructure, and national development in early twentieth-century Peru. It argues that the Peruvian mining elite operated as an organized network of entrepreneurs, mobilizing capital, environmental technology, and the power of the state to challenge the rising hegemony of US interests in Peru's copper corridor. Unlike the classic literature on nineteenth-century mining in Peru, which has presented Peruvian mineowners as a struggling bourgeoisie, this study focuses on this group's innovations and dynamism in the wake of the copper bonanza. It also studies its discursive strategies, which appealed to preexisting skepticism of free trade and anxieties about foreign influence. Altogether, this essay contributes to the literature on US imperialism and capitalist penetration by centering local actors and studying US hegemony as a contentious and contingent process. Ecological identity involves all aspects of how individuals or collectives identify themselves with nature. This paper aims to examine the discursive construction of corporate ecological identities in corporate sustainability reports in China and evaluate how these identities are legitimated through the lens of ecolinguistic discourse analysis. Our data was drawn from a collection of English-language sustainability reports of Huawei Technologies Corporation (2016–2020). The findings suggest a mix of ecological identities across all texts, among which stewarding nature dominates and it relates to the belief that humans are obligated to steward nature for the sake of sustainability. These ecological identities are discursively legitimized in terms of defining characteristics, social roles, and community memberships. Innovativeness, leadership and ethicalness are legitimated as the corporation's dominant characteristics which serve as moral identity standards, allowing further legitimation of the social roles and community memberships that the corporation claims. In the case of social roles, green manufacturing depends on green technologies, and both of them point to the instrumentality and rightness of technology in advancing sustainability. These construals uncover the ecological sustainability in the Chinese cultural context, that is, achieving the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. Amid the increasingly severe global climate change situation, green technology innovation has become an important means to promote carbon reduction and achieve the transition to a low-carbon economy. This study aims to systematically analyze the relationship between green technology innovation and carbon emission performance in the urban agglomeration of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, exploring the degree of coupling and coordination between different cities. Utilizing data from 2011 to 2021, we employ methods such as the Coupling Coordination Degree Model and fixed effects model to achieve our objectives. Our findings reveal that both green technology innovation and carbon emission performance in this region are on an upward trend; however, the growth rate of green technology innovation showed a slowdown in 2021. Notably, there are disparities in the coupling coordination degree among cities, with economically developed areas exhibiting a faster growth rate. Moreover, green technology innovation significantly enhances carbon emission performance, and heterogeneity tests indicate that this impact is even more pronounced in cities with weaker environmental regulations. Understanding the impact of farmland size adjustment on net crop carbon emissions (NCEs) is crucial for both effective farmland management and sustainable development, which are essential topics in agri-environmental science. However, studies exploring the relationship between farmland size and NCEs remain limited, particularly in developing countries with scarce farmland, such as China. To fill this gap, this paper discusses farmland size's impact on NCEs using a threshold model combining endogenous switching regression (ESR) and two-stage least squares (2SLS) with survey data from 2600 Chinese farmers. The results show that increasing farmland size curbs the scale and intensity of NCEs. However, their relationship follows a triple threshold effect, where substantial NCEs mitigation occurs only when the per-household farmland size exceeds specific thresholds of 5.1, 15.2, and 46.7 ha. Expanding farmland size can also indirectly reduce NCEs by promoting green agricultural technologies (GAT) adoption. Moreover, lowering farmers' time preferences and enhancing technical training can increase the positive effect of farmland size expansion on GAT adoption and reduce NCEs further. However, the emission reduction effects vary by GAT type. Soil testing and fertilization technology, pest control technology, and water-saving irrigation technology reduce NCEs, while the other GAT have insignificant effects. Overall, our study sheds light on the intricate relationships between farmland size, GAT adoption, and NCEs, and provides valuable insights for low-carbon, sustainable agriculture policies. We suggest that policymakers can reduce NCEs and facilitate agriculture's low-carbon transition by promoting moderate farmland size expansion and locally adapted GAT. Key policy insights Expanding farmland size beyond specific thresholds of 5.1, 15.2, and 46.7 ha significantly reduces NCEs, but this relationship is nonlinear. China should promote appropriate scale management to transition toward low-carbon agriculture. Promoting the widespread dissemination of agricultural carbon mitigation technologies according to local conditions is crucial, especially for large farms to cut carbon emissions. Policymakers should demonstrate the long-term benefits of GAT to raise farmers' valuation of low-carbon agriculture constrained by their time preferences. Green technology innovation is a vital strategic driver for the sustainable development of an organization and is pitched toward energy conservation, pollution mitigation, and waste recycling. This study investigates the influence of the green technology orientation of the top management on a hotel's green competitive advantage. It considers the effects of green human capital, green structural capital, and green relational capital. It adopts a partial least square structural equation model (PLS-SEM) to test hypotheses using 380 data samples from top employees of hotels in the USA. The statistical results show that corporate environmental ethics, stakeholder pressure, and market demand for green processes positively affect green technology involvement. Furthermore, findings of green human and structural capital positively affect green competitive advantage. The study sheds light on the significance of green competitive advantage in the hotel industry while providing novel perspectives on the deficiencies and vulnerabilities of the competitive hotel business. Summary: This study explores the potential of hydrothermal extraction as an innovative valorisation method for the simultaneous production of gelatin and fish oil from fish byproducts. It offers an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional solvent‐based techniques by minimising the use of chemical solvents and water. We researched various major commercial freshwater fish species: striped catfish, catfish, and tilapia, and achieved a gelatin product that reflects commercial standards in chemical structure, gel strength, and pH level. The striped catfish gelatin showed the highest gel strength and viscosity (66.01 ± 0.83 g bloom and 15.3 ± 0.1 cP), but was produced at a lower yield than the catfish gelatin. On the other hand, striped catfish produced the highest yield of fish oil (13.56 ± 0.21%) and has the highest omega 3 content (3.72 ± 0.02%) than other fish oil. This innovative study demonstrates the potential of hydrothermal extraction as a sustainable method for producing gelatin and fish oil, offering eco‐friendly and nutritional benefits across a range of applications. This paper addresses the gaps in understanding green regional path development and the role of firm-level agency in driving regional green transitions. By analysing a large patent dataset covering 30 years, we provide a systematic account of green regional path development in 70 regions across four Nordic countries. We identify six types of green path development – extension, stagnation, extinction, diversification, renewal and creation – and explore how different types of organisations – incumbents and new entrants – contribute to these paths. This paper explores the development of digital and green collaboration, empirically examining both the linear and nonlinear impacts of the convergence of digital and green technologies on regional total factor productivity (TFP). Using data from 30 provinces and cities in China from 2010 to 2022, the study constructs a panel threshold model with business environment and intellectual property protection as threshold variables to investigate their roles in mediating the effects of digital–green technology convergence on regional TFP. The key findings are as follows: (1) The linear analysis reveals that the convergence of digital and green technologies significantly enhances regional TFP. (2) The nonlinear analysis demonstrates a nonlinear relationship between the convergence of these technologies and regional TFP. (3) The threshold effect test identifies a single-threshold effect for the business environment, showing that once the threshold is surpassed, the positive influence of the convergence of digital and green technologies on TFP increases. Additionally, a double-threshold effect is found with intellectual property protection; as intellectual property protection surpasses the first and second thresholds, the positive impact initially strengthens but then weakens. (4) A heterogeneity analysis shows that the convergence of digital and green technologies significantly contributes to TFP in the eastern regions, while the effects in central and western regions are not significant. The Paris Accord emphasizes the obligation of nations to contribute to Nationally Determined Contributions and mitigate environmental pollution. Consequently, countries worldwide are actively seeking to discern the influence of various factors on improving environmental quality. Among these factors, innovation and financial sector development are indispensable in curtailing environmental pollution. Employing panel data from 1996 to 2018, we investigate the tripartite relationship between environmental pollution, innovation, and financial development within the G-20 countries. The findings of this study reveal that both innovation and financial development contribute to reducing environmental pollution in the long term. However, no significant relationship is observed in the short term between innovation, financial development, and environmental pollution. To further explore these dynamics, we conduct separate analyses for each country to examine the connection between innovation, financial development, and environmental pollution. Our results indicate that the short-term impact of innovation varies considerably across most G-20 countries. Nonetheless, in the long term, enhanced innovation catalyzes diminishing environmental pollution. These findings underscore the significance of innovation as a pivotal factor in alleviating environmental pollution through innovations in products, processes, and technologies. Similarly, financial sector development plays a vital role in promoting environmental quality by facilitating initiatives such as green lending and supporting research on green technologies and renewable energy solutions. Green finance contributes significantly to the openness and transparency of carbon quota trading prices, which is conducive to the development of green technology innovation. With known carbon quota trading prices, we construct game‐based operational research models to analyze fixed‐fee and mixed‐fee cross‐licensing strategies for green technologies between two competing firms under the cap‐and‐trade policy. We compare the equilibrium outcomes of no‐licensing, fixed‐fee, and mixed‐fee cross‐licensing strategies. The findings reveal that product pricing under the fixed‐fee cross‐licensing strategy is beneficial to consumers. The mixed‐fee cross‐licensing strategy is optimal in terms of firms' total profits. When the degree of product substitutions is large and the improvement in carbon emissions is small, firms are more inclined to the no‐licensing strategy. We further introduce the revenue‐sharing contract, which can extend the Pareto improvement domain and improve the performance of green technology cross‐licensing strategies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article uses the spatial Durbin model to examine the spatial spillover effect and mechanism of outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) on China's green total factor energy efficiency. The study found that, from an overall perspective, outward direct investment negatively impacts local green total factor energy efficiency and has a negative spatial spillover effect on green total factor energy efficiency in geographically related regions. From a regional perspective, the impact of outward direct investment on regional green total factor energy efficiency shows significant regional heterogeneity. In contrast, outward direct investment in the eastern region only promotes improving local green total factor energy efficiency. Mechanism analysis found that outward direct investment negatively impacts the region's green total factor energy efficiency by inhibiting green technology innovation and industrial structure upgrading. The ability of a low-carbon strategy to promote tourism development is critical to achieving economic development and environmental protection. Taking China's low-carbon city pilot (LCCP) policy as a quasi-natural experiment, this study evaluates the low-carbon strategy's effect on tourism development by adopting the difference-in-difference method with 275 cities'panel data from 2002 to 2019. The results verify that tourism has significantly developed, driven by the LCCP policy, and this finding is robust even after multiple tests. Mechanism and heterogeneity analyses show that LCCP policy drives tourism development by improving air quality, promoting industrial structure upgrading, and enhancing green technology innovation. Additionally, the pilot construction has a positive spatial spillover impact on the tourism industry in surrounding cities, reflecting the demonstration effect of the pilot city on the neighbouring cities. The continuous mechanical mining technology represents the development trend and significant transformation in excavation techniques for non-coal mines. It embodies a systematic and integrated innovation encompassing rock breaking methods, rock-breaking equipment, excavation methods, and excavation processes. Based on the current status of continuous mechanical mining technology in non-coal mines, this paper firstly outlines the technical characteristics of mechanical mining and summarizes the key scientific and technological challenges to be addressed. It provides an overview of various mechanical cutter-based rock-breaking methods, rock mass cuttability, and the development and application of continuous mechanical excavation technology. In response to the problems and challenges facing continuous mechanical mining technology in non-coal mines, this paper proposes a four-tier approach for technological breakthroughs; "process needs-technological breakthroughs-equipment research and development-engineering application." Research will be conducted across multiple aspects, including rock-breaking theory, key technologies, mining equipment, mining methods, and complete sets of processes, aiming to promote the development and advancement of safe, efficient, green, continuous, and intelligent non-explosive mechanical mining technologies and equipment for non-coal mines in China. This study aims to explore the impact of digital technology innovation on energy efficiency and energy intensity, and further provide new insights for addressing emerging challenges in energy economics. Focusing on the panel data of 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2010 to 2020, this study thoroughly investigates the process by which the digital economy influences regional energy intensity through the mechanism of technological spillovers, utilizing the fixed-effect model, the mediatedeffect model, and the spatial Durbin model. The systematic empirical analysis clearly demonstrates that the vigorous development of the digital economy significantly reduces regional energy intensity, and this effect remains stable after tests for endogeneity and robustness. Further analysis reveals that green technology innovation is a crucial pathway through which the digital economy reduces regional energy intensity. Additionally, the digital economy positively and indirectly lowers the energy intensity of neighboring provinces through technological spillovers. However, it is noteworthy that the rapid growth of the digital economy since 2017 has also triggered the so-called "energy rebound effect," which has led to an increase in energy consumption in neighboring regions to some extent. Therefore, to achieve a sustainable reduction in regional energy intensity and promote coordinated regional development, it is essential to continuously strengthen the development of a digital economy centered on digital technology to fully realize its technological spillover effects. These findings not only provide a scientific basis for the formulation of regional energy policies but also offer valuable insights for China in promoting green development and achieving the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Based on the perspective of green technology innovation, this paper takes listed companies in China's manufacturing industry from 2012 to 2022 as the research sample, and adopts the Driscoll-Kraay standard error method to explore the relationship between intelligent manufacturing and the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. The results show that intelligent manufacturing can promote high-quality development of manufacturing industry Green technology innovation plays an mediating role in the above relationship. The above findings still hold after considering robustness tests and endogeneity treatments. Heterogeneity analysis indicates the application of intelligent manufacturing in state-owned enterprises, CEO separately enterprises and heavily polluting industries has a stronger role in promoting the development of manufacturing industry. This paper complements the existing research results on intelligent manufacturing and also establishes a realistic path for the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry. Green technology (GT) and the utilization of renewable energy (RE) are widely acknowledged as a catalyst for energy efficiency, economic growth, and a tool for combating environmental degradation. Although various studies have examined the ecological repercussions of these two improvements, they have primarily used traditional pollution indicators (namely, carbon emissions and ecological footprint) and ignored nations with the highest cleaner energy adoption. To bridge this gap, the present research seeks to analyze the relationship between GT, RE consumption, economic growth, trade, and load capacity factor in the top‐10 renewable economies. In addition to environmental pollution indicators, the study utilizes the load capacity factor as a novel proxy for environmental quality and investigates the load capacity curve hypothesis using the Cross‐sectional‐autoregressive distributed lag model from 1990 to 2021. According to the empirical findings, all explanatory variables have a significant long‐term effect on the load capacity. More precisely, GT and RE consumption contribute to the sustainability of the ecosystem, while trade increases the ecological deficit. Furthermore, the findings do not support the validity of the load capacity curve hypothesis, implying that the environmental restorative benefits of economic well‐being may not manifest in the latter stages of economic growth. Given these findings, policymakers in the top‐10 renewable economies should seize the environmental prospects offered by GT and RE and update trade and growth policies in a way that promotes biocapacity while simultaneously reducing the ecological footprint to reach the long‐term sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs 7 and 13. In the wake of the increasing environmental challenges and the urgent need for sustainable development, this study focuses on the complex issue of mineral resource management. Given the growing global demand for minerals and the environmental impact of extraction, the research seeks to uncover the solutions that promote green growth while effectively addressing the ecological consequences of resource utilization in China. In the study, six factors, twenty‐four sub‐factors, and five potential solutions have been identified influencing sustainable mineral resource management and green growth. The study utilizes fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to assess these factors and sub‐factors. Following, the study utilizes fuzzy Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method to evaluate and rank five potential solutions for sustainable development. The fuzzy AHP results indicate that environmental impact mitigation, robust policy frameworks, and innovation in extraction techniques are the most crucial factors. The fuzzy TOPSIS findings indicate that technological innovation for sustainability ranks highest, followed by policy‐driven green growth, socio‐economic empowerment, enhanced environmental stewardship, and integrated circular economy approaches. These findings emphasize the critical role of advanced technologies and robust policies in promoting sustainability while addressing the socio‐economic and environmental dimensions of mineral resource management. Environmental justice is an important part of the environmental governance system. We use the exogenous shock of the environmental public interest litigation (EPIL) pilot implemented by the Chinese government in 2015 to construct a quasi-natural experiment and employ the difference-in-differences (DID) model to examine the impact and its mechanisms of environmental judicial protection on urban green technology innovation (GTI) with the help of the panel data of 274 cities in China from 2011 to 2019. The results show that the EPIL policy can significantly promote urban GTI. Mechanism tests reveal that the EPIL policy can induce urban GTI by raising public environmental attention (PEA) and strengthening the application of digital technology (DE). Heterogeneous analyses indicate that the promoting effect is more significant in eastern cities, southern cities, cities with higher administrative levels, larger cities, and cities with higher economic development levels. Our study not only enriches the relevant literature in the field of 'law and economics', but also provides a reference for policymakers to scientifically implement EPIL policy. Sustainable development is a global imperative; however, it is unattainable without a transformation of the production sector. Therefore, the study examines the impact of green strategies [Industrial innovation, Eco‐tech imports‐IMPT, and Green finances‐GFN] and policy interventions [Environmental policy‐EPY and Environmental taxes‐ETX] on production‐based emissions (PBE), industrial value addition (IVA), and sustainable development goals (SDG). The study covers the years 1990–2022 and focuses on 25 European nations. In addition, the pooled mean grouped (PMG)‐ARDL and mean group (MG) techniques were used to assess the short‐ and long‐term parameters. The country‐specific relationships are evaluated using the Bootstrap Granger Causality test. The results affirm that green strategies and policy interventions mitigated PBE and increased the IVA and SDG in Europe. However, globalization and energy use increase the PBE and IVA while impeding progress toward the SDGs. The mitigation technologies fueled with green energy (MPRE) came out as the ultimate solution, which requires green technologies and sustainable practices across all sectors. Therefore, it is suggested that governments implement eco‐friendly policies that boost GFN, reduce pollution, increase green output, and meet the Sustainable Development Goals. The continuous rise in global economic growth (EG) and human activities has contributed to the release of CO2, emphasizing the crucial role of environmental policy stringency (EPS) in encouraging green innovation to lower CO2 emissions levels and achieve environmental sustainability. This study aims to analyze the direct impacts of geopolitical risk (GPR), renewable energy consumption (RE), EPS, green technical innovation, and EG on CO2 emissions in Brazil Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS) economies on the dataset spanning from 1990 to 2020 using dynamic ordinary least square, fully modified ordinary least square, and method of moment quantile regression approach. The results demonstrate that stringent environmental regulations and the adoption of green technology are negatively associated with CO2 emissions. Further, the interaction of INV*EPS also demonstrates a negative impact on CO2 emission. In contrast, GPR and EG have a positive effect on CO2 emissions. These findings suggest that it is imperative for the policymakers of BRICS economies to implement measures that effectively encourage the adoption of green innovative technologies through the adoption of robust policy initiatives. In general conclusion, the long‐term viability depends on the implementation of green innovations by enacting strict environmental regulations in the sample countries. Based on these findings study suggests that there is a need to prioritize the consumption of renewable energy sources, the adoption of rigorous environmental regulations, and the utilization of climate‐friendly technology to attain extensive and sustainable economic development. Furthermore, this study urges the attention of government officials and policymakers in these economies to redesign more effective strategies to address these potential challenges and safeguard the environment. Improving energy utilization efficiency is a crucial means to achieve energy conservation, emission reduction, and green development. At present, to establish a high-quality development framework and satisfy the growing need for a better life among all its people, China must steadfastly pursue the path of green development. Although China's substantial economic scale and achievements in ecological civilization construction provide favorable conditions for green transformation, there remains a significant gap compared to developed countries in the application of green and clean technologies. Confronted with technological bottlenecks, leveraging emerging technologies such as industrial robots from the new round of scientific and technological revolutions to improve the green total factor energy efficiency (GTFEE) is of critical importance to China's green development. This study explores the potential impact of industrial robots on enhancing China's GTFEE. It begins by reviewing the current research landscape in this field, highlighting its shortcomings, and theorizing potential impact pathways of industrial robots. Subsequently, the paper analyzes data from 2010 to 2019 on the usage of industrial robots and GTFEE across 276 cities at the prefectural level or above in China. Through empirical regression models that incorporate control variables and interaction terms, the study investigates the specific impacts of industrial robots on energy efficiency and their mechanisms of action. The results indicate that industrial robots significantly enhance the GTFEE of Chinese cities, especially in the Northeastern region. Industrial robots notably improve the GTFEE in resource-based cities, old industrial bases, and low-carbon pilot cities. Additionally, robots indirectly boost GTFEE by increasing labor productivity. Enhanced levels of green innovation and environmental regulations also positively moderate the effectiveness of industrial robots in improving energy efficiency. The findings of this research can assist local government agencies in coordinating and implementing policies that are conducive to green development, making better use of industrial robots to serve the people, and are of significant importance for promoting the transformation of China's economy and society towards high-quality development. As the "carbon neutrality" strategy is implemented, green technology R&D, a core competitive strength for sustainable enterprise development, is an essential pathway for China's transformation and green growth. Green technology, a breakthrough over traditional production technologies, involves lengthy and costly R&D processes with high risks typically beyond the reach of a single enterprise. It requires the heterogeneous functions of enterprises, universities, and research institutions to complement each other's advantages and establish an "industry–university–research" collaborative innovation alliance for green technologies. This paper constructs differential game models for non-cooperative and cooperative green technology R&D involving a green manufacturer and a research institution. We solve and compare the profits for both parties under these scenarios, apply a time-consistent payment distribution mechanism to allocate cooperative profits, and ensure that neither party deviates from the optimal cooperative trajectory over a prolonged period, achieving Pareto improvement and enhancing social welfare. This paper investigates the impact of the digital economy on urban environmental pollution by analyzing panel data from 283 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2019 and using the digital technology comprehensive pilot zone of China as a natural experiment. The results demonstrate that digital technology has a significant effect in reducing pollutant emissions and empowering urban environmental governance. The findings are proven to be robust based on various tests, including parallel trend, PSM-DID, and placebo tests. Our analysis further shows that digital technology is particularly effective in controlling pollution in old industrial areas, high digital areas, and low energy efficiency areas. We also find that the national digital technology integrated pilot zone can mitigate environmental pollution in prefecture-level cities by increasing public environmental awareness and encouraging green technology innovation. Moreover, our research indicates that digital technology-enabled urban pollution control can contribute to the formation of a new urbanization pattern in China.
