This bachelor's thesis deals with the image of feminism in Czech weekly newspapers during 2019. The thesis first focuses on the historical context and development of feminism in the Czech lands from the national revival and the struggle for women's social and political rights, through the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic and the acquisition of suffrage and through the official and real position of women during socialism, up to the post-revolutionary and contemporary image of feminism in the Czech Republic and its presentation in the media. The work also defines the space for analysis, it defines weekly news magazines and briefly summarizes their content focus, readability and print load. The thesis tries to get an answer to the question whether feminism and related topics were presented mostly negatively in Czech weekly newspapers in 2019. The analysis of the text, based on keywords, selects articles devoted to feminism and then categorizes them according to the tone into groups as negative, neutral or positive texts. The analysis brings both the total number of articles that dealt with the topic in each of weekly magazines during one year, as well as their number in individual categories. У статті представлено загальний огляд історичного становлення, сучасний стан та тенденції розвитку студентської преси Київського та Львівського політехнічних інститутів. На прикладі інститутських видань «Київський політехнік» (КПІ) та «Аудиторія» (ЛПІ), виявлено вплив на формування студентів-журналістів та студентів-редакторів як майбутніх фахівців, окреслено основні риси та тематика студентських газет, а також обґрунтовано необхідність створення таких видань. The article presents an overview of the historical development, current status and development trends of student press media of Kiev and Lviv Polytechnic. Using the example of the publications «Kyiv Polytechnic» (KPI) and «Audience» (LPI), which play the significant role in training of the students-journalists and students-editors as future professionals, the main features and subject are outlined and the necessity of the foundation of such publications is substantiated.

The text deals with the history of Chomutov's weekly paper Nástup. I decided to write about this topic since I was born in Chomutov and I wanted to cover this part of the regional history. In 1960, weekly Nástup took up two village papers and followed regional political authorities in their ideology till 1989. I tried to cover the changes in the content and the personal constitution but I was interested in the price and the number of pages, too. Nástup supported the political and the social changes in 1968, gave opportunities to discussions and disputations. Nástup played an important role in the days after the occupation, because the journalist published Nástup every day for one week. They provided regional news as well as news about events in Czechoslovakia. At the beginning of the 70's, Nástup became the normalization medium. This change caused editorial staff had to leave and interrupted their journalist career for twenty years. All the time, citizens very often appealed to the weekly with their problems. They usually wrote about their troubles with institutions and offices and Nástup helped them to solve that problems. This issue begins with a tribute to Dr. J. Hugo Reed, Professor of Veterinary Science. Agricultural articles pertain to creating antifreeze mixtures, the commercial incubator in the poultry industry, and sales efficiency in the dairy industry.
