1. Promotion of Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure and Russia’s Interests in the Global Scientific Information Space

Abstract

The article analyzes the place and role of the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) in the development of international cooperation and scientific and technological potential of China. The English-language resources of the CNKI are disclosed. The importance of the English version of the CNKI website as a tool for promoting CNKI in the international arena is shown. With the help of the google trends web statistics service, the information needs of foreign users of the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure are studied. The most promising options and scenarios for cooperation between the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure and the Russian academic and scientific community are presented. It is explained why the primary task is to pay for full-text access to journals on social sciences and humanities in Chinese. It is suggested that the experience of CNKI may be useful for the formation of a similar national knowledge infrastructure in Russia itself, and integrating the entire Russian-speaking scientific and information space in the world. The role of the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences in promoting Russian scientific results abroad and expanding access to foreign resources is shown.

3. Evolution of technology collaboration networks for climate change mitigation and mechanisms for their impacts.

Abstract

The number of patent ap plications for climate change mitigation technologies (CCMT) in China has shown a rapid development trend over the past decade. This study applies social network analysis (SNA) method and directed time-exponential random graph model(TERGM), while considering endogenous network structure variables, node variables and external network covariates, to analyze the Climate Change Mitigation Technology Innovation Cooperation Network (CCMTICN) formed in Chinese provinces, and analyzes the influencing factors and evolution of the CCMTICN from 2011 to 2021 using CCMT patent data from the Himmpat database. The results show that CCMTICN shows obvious core-edge structural characteristics; endogenous network structural variables have a non-negligible influence on the formation of the network, and other factors such as the information exchange network, industrialization level, knowledge level, and the degree of governmental intervention can promote the formation of CCMTICN; whereas, foreign direct investment, urbanization level, and carbon dioxide(CO 2) emissions can inhibit the formation of CCMTICN. When considering the 11-year time effect of CCMTICN, it is found that the CCMT cooperative relationship between provinces remains relatively stable. • Edge weights set by cooperative patents between provinces. • Examined CCMTICN factors over three periods using TERGM. • Added Baidu index to network variables; assessed CO2 impact. • Time effects in TERGM analyzed for network stability. Abstract

Abstract: Various research efforts would benefit from the ability to exchange and share information (traces with packet payloads, or other detailed system logs) to enable more data-driven research. Protection of the sensitive content is crucial for extensive information sharing. We present results of Kencl and Loebl (2009)  and Blamey et al. (in preparation) about a technique of information concealing, based on introduction and maintenance of families of repeats. The structure of repeats in DNA constitutes an important obstacle for its reconstruction by hybridisation. A large proportion of eukaryotic genomes is composed of DNA segments that are repeated either precisely or in variant form more than once. As yet, no function has been associated with many of the repeats. In the paper by Blamey et al. (in preparation) , the authors propose that in eukaryotes the cells have DNA as a depositary of concealed genetic information and the genome achieves the self-concealing by accumulation and maintenance of repeats. The protected information may be shared and this is useful for the development of intercellular communication and in the development of multicellular organisms. Abstract

I all teori om sökmotorsoptimering finns det många olika tankar om hur man ska sökmotorsoptimera. De flesta berättar mest om den tekniska biten och har endast som en kort punkt förklarat att innehållet på en webbplats också är viktigt. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka webbföretags förhållningssätt till både hur de arbetar och resonerar kring sökmotorsoptimering och webbstatistik, men även gå djupare in på hur förhållandet mellan kund och företag påverkar vart marknaden är på väg. Genom att utföra kvalitativa intervjuer med webbföretag där främst marknaden för sökmotorsoptimering, sponsrade länkar och webbstatistik diskuterats har ett resultat utformats. Baserat på de senaste artiklarna, respondenternas svar och mina egna personliga reflektioner av situationen, visar det att det blivit en förskjutning i vad definitionen av sökmotorsoptimering är. Den tekniska biten är kvar men inte alls lika viktig längre då sökmotorerna hela tiden ändrar sina algoritmer och blir smartare, utan fokus läggs istället mer på innehållet. Ett rikt innehåll med bra skriven text samt ett intressant video- eller bildmaterial är mycket viktigare än att ändra på småsaker i strukturen av webbplatsen. Sökmarknaden idag ser annorlunda ut mot bara några år sedan. Det innebär att sökmotorsoptimering inte enbart handlar om att förbättra den egna hemsidan, utan även innefattar all marknadsföring på webben. In all theory about Search Engine Optimization there are lots of different ideas on how to optimize search engines. Much of the theory concerns the technical aspects and only offers a short explanation on the importance of the actual content of the website. In this essay I will examine how web companies think and act around search engine optimization and web statistics, but also go deeper into how the relationship between customer and company affects where the market is heading. By doing qualitative interviews with web companies where the subject search engine optimization, paid ads and web statistics were discussed, a result has been formed. Based on the latest articles, the answers from the respondents and my own personal reflections of the situation, there are clear signs that the definition of Search Engine Optimization has changed. The technical aspect is still there, but with less importance since the search engines keeps changing the algorithms in order to become smarter. Instead the focus is on the content. Rich content, good written text, interesting videos and images has a larger impact than changing the little things in the structure of a website. The search market looks different today than it did a few years ago. The term Search Engine Optimization has changed its meaning into something more than just improving your own homepage. Now it also includes all the marketing your company does outside of the web.

12. BSc-project: Geautomatiseerde webstatistiekanalyse & website-prestatie-indicatie

Abstract

Content Power biedt hun klanten een Content Management Systeem (CMS) aan waarmee zij gemakkelijk content op hun website kunnen aanpassen of toevoegen. Voor dit Bachelor-eindproject hebben wij onderzoek gedaan naar geautomatiseerde webstatistiekanalyse en website-prestatie-indicatie voor de websites van klanten van Content Power. Hiervoor hebben wij literatuuronderzoek gedaan, interviews gehouden en uiteindelijk een proof-of-concept gebouwd. Deze proof-of-concept bestaat uit een aanbevelingen-dashboard als module binnen het CMS van Content Power. Websitebeheerders krijgen met behulp van een expertsysteem gegenereerde aanbevelingen te zien met als doel meer conversies en search engine-optimalisatie. Tevens worden de beheerders in staat gesteld de prestaties van hun website te volgen door middel van door hun instelbare doelstellingen. Aan eenvoud wordt een hoge prioriteit gegeven alsmede het voorzien van de module van een "actionable interface". Vanwege de complexiteit van dit project en de gelimiteerde tijd is er gekozen voor een proof-of-concept. A large number of statistic services exist today, which shows that there is a great interest in knowing more about the visitors on a web site. But how reliable is the result the services are giving? The hypothesis examined in the thesis is: Web-based statistic services do not show an accurate result The purpose of the thesis is to find out how accurate the web-based statistic services are regarding unique visitors and number of pages viewed. Our hope is that this thesis will bring more knowledge about the different statistic services that exists today and the problems surrounding them. We will also draw attention to the importance of knowing how your statistic software works to be able to interpret the results correctly. To investigate this, we chose to do practical tests on a selection of web-based statistic services. The services registered the traffic from the same web site during a test period. During the same period a control program registered the same things and stored the result in a database. In addition to the test, we have done an interview with a person working with web statistics. The investigation showed that there are big differences between the results from the web-based statistic services in the test and that none of them showed an accurate result, neither for the total number of page views nor unique visitors. This led us to the conclusion that web-based statistic services do not show an accurate result, which verifies our hypothesis. Also the interview confirmed that there is a problem with measuring web statistics. Ett stort antal statistiksystem existerar idag för att ta reda på information om besökare på webbplatser. Men hur pålitliga är egentligen dessa tjänster? Syftet med uppsatsen är att ta reda på hur pålitliga de är när det gäller att visa antal unika besökare och totalt antal sidvisningar. Hypotesen vi har formulerat är: Webb-baserade statistiksystem visar inte ett korrekt resultat. För att testa detta har vi gjort praktiska tester av fem olika webb-baserade statistiktjänster som användes på samma webbplats under samma period. Informationen som dessa tjänster registrerade lagrade vi i en databas, samtidigt som vi använde ett eget kontrollprogram för att mäta samma uppgifter. Vi har också genomfört en intervju med en person som arbetar med webbstatistik på ett webbföretag. Undersökningen visar att resultatet mellan de olika tjänsterna skiljer sig mycket, både jämfört med varandra och med kontrollprogrammet. Detta gällde både antal sidvisningar och unika besökare.
