- Abstract
Laura Betti’s career as a recording artist covers the years from 1957 to 1965, and represents a unicum in the history of Italian popular music: for the participation of several famous writers in the composition of the lyrics; for the use of a ‘low’ medium such as the song in an ‘intellectual’ project; for the transgressive and provocative content of many songs; and for the distinctive features of Betti as a singer, in relation to her contemporary performers. The objective of the essay is to reconstruct Betti’s career as a recording artist, and situating it in relation to the cultural history of Italian canzone and the new aesthetics of song and voice that emerged in the years of the economic boom.

This paper presents the results of the analysis of Croatian and Russian idioms with phytonymic components naming different types of fruit and the lexemes voće and ... as phraseological components. During the analysis an attempt is made to investigate the way in which fruit as a phraseological component is conceptualized in idioms and the way in which it influences the formation of phraseological meaning with regard to the possibility of its dual conceptualization: as a plant and as a food source. The contrastive approach aims to determine the similarities and differences in the way fruit as a phraseological component motivates the phraseological meaning in the nationalculturally specific phraseological picture of the world characteristic of the two related Slavic languages. Croatian and Russian idioms with the component ... are analyzed in more detail since it represents the phraseologically most productive phytonymic component referring to fruit in both analyzed languages. - Abstract
From birth, if right from the intrauterine period, the mouth is the seat of sensory experiences that are fundamental for the development of our psyche. As psychoanalysts, we can-not limit ourselves to simply saying that we are dealing with the oral area or with the oral phase, since this area of the body is responsible for at least a dozen different functions, such as digestive, phonatory, respiratory and taste perception, just to name the most important ones. These multiple functions must constantly coexist in the double relational dimension with oneself and with others and in a reciprocal alternation between activities related to nutrition and those related to breathing. Starting from a patient's dream, the present paper explores the meaning of experiences and fantasies about the mouth in the clinical dimension, comparing the main bibliographic sources on the subject. VALUES (Ethics) , *AGE groups , *EDUCATIONAL attainment , *DATA analysis , *PRAISE , *SOLIDARITY , *INTIMACY (Psychology) - Abstract
The starting point for this study is the observation that, by generalizing its use in the Angolan context, the treatment form you will acquire, as is registered in the diatopic and diastratic varieties of PE, distinct semantic values, pragmatic and discursively determined. It is because of the context (formal, informal) and the relationship (vertical, horizontal) that you registers considerable rates of occurrence in Angola, including in contexts in which, according to the standard norm, such use is discouraged. Data were obtained by applying a questionnaire with twenty questions, all simulating real communication situations. The questionnaire was distributed and filled out online by 115 participants of different educational levels, provinces of residence, age group and sex. From the data analysis, which follows an eminently qualitative approach, it was possible to identify different types of use of you: you of intimacy, you of intimacy-affection, you of respect-affection, you of superiority, you of inferiority, you of detachment; you interpolate, you derogatory. The discursive context, the type of expressive act, of praise or criticism, formal or informal, the relationship between the interlocutors, of power, solidarity, or proxemics, are determining variables for the association of one of those semantic values to you. The conclusion is the following: when a positive semantic value is associated with you, it occurs in an expressive speech act of praise and the pronominal treatment presents percentage data (very) close to the data related to the nominal treatment; when, on the contrary, it occurs in expressive acts of criticism, it reveals itself to be considerably threatening from the negative face, which is reflected in the reduction of its use, translated into (very) low percentage rates, compared to percentage rates related to nominal treatment. Therefore, the less used the you will be, the more threatening it is to the negative face of the addressee. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the current research, a torsion of isotropic prismatic rods with elastic–plastic behavior under non-linear hardening behavior, such as Swift, Voce, and Ramberg–Osgood relations, is investigated with the method of fundamental solutions. Based on the Saint–Venant displacement assumption and deformation theory of plasticity for the stress–strain relation, the non-linear boundary value problem for the stress function is formulated. The purpose of the current research is study the elastic–plastic torsion problem with non-linear hardenings in a new simple form and solving the presented equations with the method of fundamental solutions and radial basis functions. The non-linear torsion problem is solved by means of the Picard iteration method. The proposed algorithm is based on solution of the linear Poisson equation at each iteration step. The change in politeness rules affects and reconfigures the treatment system of a given language. Finding scarce primary sources, such as the 16th and 17th century manuscripts, allows us to study, in addition to the forms of treatment, the formation of a new politeness agreement. This new agreement is based on a new society that began to be formed in American Portuguese.in the middle of the 16th century The indices of this new system are the forms vossa mercê and você. The arrangements made at the beginning of the colonization process affected the courtesy forms and functions of what would become the Brazilian Portuguese (BP), which are the reasons why this paper emphasizes the 16th and 17th centuries. We investigate in this article (a) manuscripts produced between 16th and 17th centuries that have never been analysed by the perspective of the Portuguese’s address system and (b) the use of vossa mercê and você in literary texts and in metalinguistic sources. In the end of the paper, final observations are made in the light of the proposed research. One of the contributions made by this study is the register of the terminus a quo of the word você, which dates from the year 1638. We argue for the interdisciplinarity of Philology, Paleography and Historical Linguistics studies and for the constitution of an effective dialogue between the state collective projects that investigate the BP history, considering its common socio-history.

The aim of this work was to model the moisture content (MC) and drying rate (DR) using artificial neural network (ANN) methodology. Many architectures have been tested and the best topology was selected based on a trial and error method. The dataset was randomly divided into 60, 20, and 20 % for training, test, and validation stage of the ANN model, respectively. The best topology was 10-{29-13}-2 obtained with high correlation coefficient R (%) of {99.98, 98.41} and low root mean square error RMSE (%) (0.36, 6.29) for MC and DR, respectively. The obtained ANN can be used to interpolate the MC and DR with high accuracy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Fides et ratio recommends “the necessary and urgent passage from the phenomenon to the foundation”. This is the transit that Moses made by perceiving the voice of fire in front of the bush and allowing himself to be challenged by it, to initiate unheard-of thoughts, sought through the encounter with old signs. The voice and the thought of the trace are not a kind of relativism, but a continuous attempt to rewrite the value of truth in new contexts. Theological language is given to indicate the truth, not to register it and if reconciled with the phenomenon, can go back to appreciate the contemporaneity of the connection between phenomenon and foundation, enjoying living a hermeneutic circularity. - Abstract
In modern society there is an increased need for verbal communication in many professional categories, in which the voice must be clear, aesthetic and adequately strong. A functionally appropriate voice is estimated to be essential for about one third of current jobs. Nowadays, human communication has acquired impressive social dimensions, with the current technology providing the necessary means of communication, and man generating the message. Phoniatry manages the quality of the verbal transmission. Vocal disorders influence the daily activity of patients, having an impact on their quality of life. In order to identify these conditions as effectively as possible, the authors aim to review the main methods of evaluation and diagnosis of vocal pathology, insisting on their importance and interdependence. For the exact determination of anatomical changes of the vocal folds and for the therapeutic management, laryngeal videoendoscopic examination and videostroboscopy are indispensable. Electroglotography is a diagnostic method complementary to endoscopic techniques, but by no means a substitute. Acoustic examination methods such as computer-assisted techniques for recording complex vocal sounds and analyzing their spectral composition have reached a practicable level that allows their use in the medical offices. - Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to point out the relationship between the works of Henri Michaux and the re-elaboration of Valerio Magrelli concerning the main theme of the body. In particular, the research is focused on the thematic presence of the organ of the mouth and of the voice and of the imagery associated with them. The attention to this organ and the phonetic emission resulting from it is extremely linked, in both writers, to the relationship with parental figures. Therefore, this theme seems to be linked to that of the rejection of the father and to that of the mother.

Giorgio Falco’s novels are marked by a constant critique of the neo capitalist world, based on his own experience as a temporary worker. Despite the different historical setting, La Gemella H also serves the same purpose. The essay offers an interpretation that highlights this theme, based on comparisons with other important novels by the same author (Pausa caffè, Condominio Oltremare, Ipotesi di una sconfitta, Flashover, Il paradosso della sopravvivenza), followed by three insights focusing on Hilde, her relationship with her twin sister Helga and finally on her father, Hans Hinner.

Abbiamo anche sco, A glance at a face, a few syllables uttered by a speaker, or the verbal description of a behaviour are fundamental cues for forming a first impression. However, impressions are not always based on a single modality, but are determined by the combination of several modalities. Just as our impressions are sensitive to multiple cues, they are also subject to being updated when additional, diagnostic information is presented. Only a few studies have tested the integration of multi-modal cues presented sequentially. This research aimed to extend and complement previous work on multi-modal integration and impression updating by addressing key open questions. In seven pretests (N= 317) and eight experiments (N = 1613) we examined whether, how, and why multi-modal cues update first impressions based on faces, voices, and verbal descriptions of others' behaviour. In each experiment, we used the sequential presentation of cues to examine this process. Participants were first presented with information about the target on which they provided their global (valence-based) impression. Then, they were presented with valence-inconsistent information from a different source before providing a second impression. In Experiments 1-3, we analysed the face-to-voice and voice-to-face impression updating. We showed that faces and voices updated impressions based on cross-modal cues. In addition, voices had a greater impact on updating impressions. In Experiments 4-7, we analysed the updating of impressions from behaviour to face and from behaviour to voice. We demonstrated that faces and voices updated first impressions based on behaviours. We also found that voices were on average more effective than faces, but that this effect depended on the type of faces used (i.e., artificial or real faces). In Experiment 8, we aimed to provide an explanation for the higher impact of voice (vs. face) in impression updating. Comparing face-to-voice and voice-to-face updating, we found that voices were

Iron deficiency anaemia is one of the major health problems that affects cognitive performance, physical capacity, immune status, and reproductive performance. The iron content in 35 food samples (fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices) marketed in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina was determined. The iron content in the fruits and vegetables was determined using FAAS spectrometry, and in the herbs and spices samples by UV/Vis spectrophotometry. Experimentally determined content was: fruits (2.91-39.27 mg kg-1), vegetables (6.33-107 mg kg-1), herbs (135-962 mg kg-1), and spices (59.00-918 mg kg-1). Daily intakes for different plant samples were also calculated. The food samples were arranged by iron concentration in the following descending order: herbs and tea > spices > vegetables > fruits. The results from this study were compared with previously published data. The obtained values are in the area of common values. The iron content and the factors that increase its bioavailability can help in the selection of proper foods to be included in the daily diet. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The body is the focal point of all knowledge. Knowledge is always a knowledge of the body. The educational relationship is a relationship between bodies. Words have a body, the writing has a body, the tongue is a motor act. Despite all this, the educating body size is still not thematized by pedagogical reflection. Referring to the perspective inaugurated by the pedagogy of the body, the essay aims to reflect on the constituent aspects of a bodily vision of educational processes, developing its own reflection on the concept of "posture", to extend its meaning, and not just metaphorically, way beyond the narrow semantic spaces which the biomechanical paradigm has long relegated. A reflection that weaves knowledge and interdisciplinary awareness, to try to unravel as in gesture (of touch, of seeing, of listening, of voice) lies much more than educating the sense of what we tend to grant him reductively.

During the analysis an attempt is made to investigatethe way in which fruit as a phraseological component is conceptualized in idioms andthe way in which it influences the formation of phraseological meaning with regard tothe possibility of its dual conceptualization: as a plant and as a food source. The con-trastive approach aims to determine the similarities and differences in the way fruitas a phraseological component motivates the phraseological meaning in the national-culturally specific phraseological picture of the world characteristic of the two relatedSlavic languages. Croatian and Russian idioms with the component jabuka/яблоко areanalyzed in more detail since it represents the phraseologically most productive phyto-nymic component referring to fruit in both analyzed languages., В статье представлены результаты анализа хорватских и русских фразеологизмовс фитонимическими компонентами, которыми называются разные виды фрук-тов, и тех, в которых в качестве фразеологического компонента появляются лек-семы voće и плод.

Selenium is an essential element for animals and humans, which is toxic if elevated. Raša coal is exceptionally enriched in sulfur, selenium, uranium, vanadium and molybdenum. It was used in local industry of the Raša area for centuries. The aim of this study was to determine the levels of selenium and potentially toxic trace elements in locally grown vegetables, fruits and wild plants. In comparison with the values of selenium in vegetables from other regions of Croatia and the Croatian legislative values, selenium in Raša vegetables was substantially increased. The results of this work should encourage further research on the alimentary habits of the population of the Raša area.

The employment of você in current European Portuguese is not clear. Although Brazilian Portuguese has specialised it as an informal pronoun in certain geographical areas within the country, the European variety presents its use in contexts which seem to be contradictory: informal address, formal address and pejorative address. Due to the lack of an in-depth study on the evolution of this form, we have collected data from three different corpora that reflect the real usage of você throughout the twentieth century, since it is from the nineteenth century that você started specialising as an informal pronoun. The results show a decreasing use of this pronoun and a certain degree of polyvalence due to a gradual marginalisation experienced for over one hundred years. As a consequence, the strategy of null subject plus 3sg has emerged as the unmarked politeness strategy in current European Portuguese. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MICROBIAL enzymes , *ENANTIOMERIC purity , *BIOACTIVE compounds , *PLANT species , *ENZYMES - Abstract
Due to better efficiency and safety the need for enantiomerically pure chiral compounds is increasing, especially in the pharmaceutical industry. To meet these needs, new, more efficient and cheaper but also environmental-friendly methods of their preparation are needed. Accordingly, great attention has been drawn to biocatalysts in which microorganisms or theirs enzymes are used as biocatalysts. Recently, the scientific community turned to research on the use of fresh, intact plant material as a biocatalyst. The use of plant material does not require the addition of expensive cofactors since various enzyme systems and necessary cofactors, and their regeneration system already exists in plant tissue. Depending on the plant used (fruits, vegetables, spices), either enantiomers may be obtained in high yield and with high enantiomeric excess, which is a critical factor for the development of biologically active compounds and their bioactivity. In this paper, various studies of different plant species parts as biocatalysts in stereoselective transformations of compounds to obtain enantiomerically pure chiral compounds are presented. The use of plants as a biocatalytic systems is in accordance with green chemistry principles and represents a significant alternative to synthetic chemical transformations that would meet the needs of ecological and economic. CONSUMER attitudes , *FOOD habits , *PUBLIC health , *DIETARY fiber , *CALORIC content of convenience foods , *VEGETABLES in human nutrition - Abstract
Unlike fast and restaurant food, diet rich in fibre is known to contribute significantly to health. The aim of our study was to assess eating habits such as consumption of fibre-rich, fast, and restaurant food of the general population in Croatia. For this purpose we used a validated survey designed by the Polytechnic Institute Viseu in Portugal, which includes questions about demographics, good eating habits related to the consumption of the main sources of dietary fibre (fruit, vegetables, and whole grains), and unhealthy eating habits related to the consumption of fast food and restaurant meals. Between October 2014 and March 2015 we received answers from 2,536 respondents aged between 18-70 years, of whom 67.4 % were women and 32.6 % were men. Most respondents reported consuming one serving of vegetables and one piece of fruit a day, and whole grains every other day. Women and urban residents reported consuming larger amounts of fruit, vegetables, and whole grains than men (p<0.001). Men, in turn, reported eating out and eating fast food more often than women (p<0.001). Eating out highly correlated with eating fast food, which translates to lower consumption of dietary fibre (p<0.001). Higher education correlated positively with the consumption of fibre-rich food, but it also correlated positively with the consumption of fast and restaurant food (p<0.001). While eating fast food is not the predominant dietary practice in Croatia, over 50 % of respondents have reported eating fast food at least once a week. Our data also indicate that consumption of fruit, vegetables, and whole grains falls below the national and international dietary recommendations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The constitutive stress-strain relationships for structural alloys under tensile loading are reconstructed by assessing the form and mechanism of work hardening relationships. The stress-strain relationships are derived that reproduce both the Hollomon and Voce expressions. The Voce expression well-reproduces the later steady-state stage of work hardening whereas the Hollomon relationship provides a better fit just beyond the proportional limit. Using the Voce relationship, sequential linear regions can be considered for the variation of work hardening with stress, wherein the slope is defined as the softening factor. It's found that the work hardening and softening factor increase as deformation initially progresses beyond yield but decrease once the steady state condition is achieved as the total plastic strain continues up to the instability. By evaluating the initial linear stage beyond yield, a formulation is developed to compute the dislocation activation volume for the onset of plastic deformation. In addition, a new constitutive nonlinear work hardening behavior is used to derive a new stress-strain relationship for the deformation of alloys that work harden to the strength instability as derived from a statistical mechanics of assessment of work hardening behavior. Utility is demonstrated for the wide range of stress-strain behavior that is observed for the additively manufactured Ti–6Al–4V alloy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

39. «Le voci ingenue del principio». Orality as the language of origins in Elsa Morante’s work

Khaghani, Alexandra and Khaghani, Alexandra
- Abstract
This paper focuses on the oral component in Elsa Morante’s writing, in order to interpret it as a form of representation of the origins. The reflection starts from the theoretical recognition of a twentieth-century conception of origins, according to which the quest for an original dimension is essentially developed in the realm of language and poetry. In this view, the numerous references to an oral and prelogical phase of language that pervade Elsa Morante’s works are interpreted as the remnant of a language of origins. Making use of the cross-cutting perspective of thematic criticism, this study investigates the forms of expression and meanings of orality in Morante’s literary path. From the ‘phantom of vocality’ staged by Menzogna e sortilegio to Nunziata’s corporeal and maternal language on L’isola di Arturo, up to the Useppe’s oral poems and Aracoeli’s lullabies, the orality of origins constitutes a poetic and, since the 1960s, an ideological thread too, invoked by the writer to shake the cornerstones of the expressionless and monotonous language of Western history.

Neophodno je provoditi redovite kontrole nad pesticidima u voću i povrću., Pesticide residues can be found in the foods we consume in food, fruit, and vegetables, in water and air, and as a result, negative consequences for human health can occur. It is important for food that reaches the market to be safe, and any pesticide residues that may be present must be within the maximum permitted concentrations, which is regulated in the Republic of Croatia by Regulation no. 396/2005 of the European Parliament and the Council of February 23, 2005, on maximum levels of pesticide residues in food and animal feed of plant and animal origin. The aim of this thesis was to determine the presence of pesticides in fruit and vegetable samples found on the market of the Republic of Croatia. The concentration of pesticides in fruits and vegetables was determined by the instrumental techniques of gas chromatography with a mass spectrometer, gas chromatography with an electron capture detector, and liquid chromatography with a mass spectrometer. Out of a total of 142 analysed fruit and vegetable samples, pesticide residues above the maximum allowed concentrations were detected in 8 samples. Such samples did not pose a risk to human health. Given that fruits and vegetables are used daily in the diet, the safety of these products is of public health importance. It is necessary to carry out regular controls over pesticides in fruits and vegetables.

Uspoređivanjem eksperimentalnih vrijednosti s vrijednostima USDA baze podataka uočene su velike razlike u sadržaju vitamina C u voću i voćnim prerađevinama.
