Green walls in urban environments can be both an aesthetic feature and be of practical use in greywater treatment. This study evaluates the effect of different loading rates (4.5 l/d, 9 l/d, and 18 l/d) on the efficiency of treating actual greywater from a city district in a pilot-scale green wall with five different filter materials as substrates (biochar, pumice, hemp fiber, spent coffee grounds (SCG), and composted fiber soil (CFS)). Three cool climate plant species, Carex nigra, Juncus compressus, and Myosotis scorpioides, were chosen for the green wall. The following parameters were evaluated: biological oxygen demand (BOD), fractions of organic carbon, nutrients, indicator bacteria, surfactants, and salt. Three of the five materials investigated – biochar, pumice, and CFS - showed promising treatment efficiencies. The respective overall reduction efficiencies of BOD, total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) were 99%, 75%, and 57% for biochar; 96%, 58%, and 61% for pumice; and 99%, 82% and 85% for CFS. BOD was stable in the biochar filter material with effluent concentrations of 2 mg/l across all investigated loading rates. However, higher loading rates had a significantly negative effect on hemp and pumice for BOD. Interestingly, the highest loading rate (18 l/d) flowing over pumice removed the highest levels of TN (80%) and TP (86%). Biochar was the most effective material in removing indicator bacteria, with a 2.2–4.0 Log10 reduction for E. coli and enterococci. SCG was the least efficient material, giving a higher BOD in the effluent than in the influent. Therefore, this study presents the potential of natural and waste-derived filter materials to treat greywater effectively and the results can contribute to the future development of nature-based greywater treatment and management practices in urban areas. The purpose of the article is to analyse the culturological, environmental and social aspects of the project activity of a landscape designer. Methods. The author applies a combination of theoretical and empirical approaches, namely: the method of observation, the method of study and generalisation, the method of analysis, comparison, and synthesis in the study of trends and prospects of landscape design. Results. It is established that landscape design as a general cultural and environmental factor affects the socio-cultural aspect of human life and the safety of its activities. Landscape design is transformed into a phenomenon that combines environmental safety, economic feasibility, and aesthetic expressiveness. The article provides an analysis of the modern means of creating landscape design projects. With the help of landscape design, new values and norms are formed in the cultural space, spatial orientations and forms of social development are expanded. The global issues of humanity determine the orientation of scientific and cultural vectors of Ukraine to European standards. The scientific novelty of the study is determined by the fact that landscape design is considered in the range of cultural, environmental, and social issues. The main trends and prospects of modern landscape design are identified.

Green elevations are one of the elements of modern and technologically advanced pro-ecological architecture. As a result of this phenomenon, greenery has become a material modifying the character of the architectural object, constituting a new quality element in the urban landscape of Polish cities. The development of technical possibilities of shaping vegetation systems allowed for various applications of greenery in architecture also in more difficult climate conditions, such as a cold, dry winter and a hot, dry summer like those found in Poland. The use of greenery on the facade has many positive aspects, which are obtained as a result of the synergy of nature, technology and art.

Dünya genelinde kentleşme oranı gittikçe artmakta ve 2050’ye kadar bu rakamın daha yüksek oranlara ulaşacağı ön görülmektedir. Dünyayı yaşanır hale getiren doğa ise, bu süreçten kötü etkilenmekte ve yeşil alan oranı gün geçtikçe azalmaktadır. Günümüzde bu problemleri düzeltmek için alınan önlemler genel tanımı ile “sürdürülebilir yaklaşım” başlığı altında toplanmaktadır. Yağmur bahçeleri, dikey bahçeler, çatı bahçeleri bu çalışmaların sadece bazılarıdır. Bu çalışmalar peyzaj mimarlığı meslek disiplinin de odak noktasında yerini almaktadır. Bu nedenle gerek formal gerekse informal eğitim sürecinde sürdürülebilirlik çalışmalarını yerini almaktadır. Öğrencilerin eğitim süreci içerisinde bu gibi kavramlar ile çalışmaları mezun olduklarında uygulamalarında daha fazla yermesine neden olmaktadır. Bu da 4 yıllık eğitim süreçlerinin sonunda “farkındalık” etkisi yaratmaktadır. Yapılan bu çalışma, Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Peyzaj Mimarlığı Bölümü Mühendislik Bilgisi dersi kapsamında “yeşil duvar olması önerilen bir duvarın” 2 haftalık ders süreci içerisinde tasarlanması ve ortaya çıkan ürünlerin peyzaj değeri açısından incelenmesini içermektedir. Çalışma sonucunda öncelikle tasarlanan duvarların peyzaj değeri açısından önemi ve ekolojik kaygılar ile yapılan tasarımların eğitim sürecindeki önemi vurgulanmıştır. The nature that makes the world livable is badly affected by this process and the rate of green area is decreasing day by day. Today, the measures taken to correct these problems are gathered under the title of sustainable approach in general definition. Rain gardens, vertical gardens, roof gardens are just some of these works. These studies take place in the focal point of the professional discipline of landscape architecture. Therefore, it replaces sustainability studies in both formal and informal education processes. Students' studies with such concepts in the education process cause them to have more place in their applications when they graduate. This creates an “awareness” effect at the end of 4-year training processes. Within the scope of this study, within the scope of the engineering knowledge course of the department of landscape architecture of Karadeniz Technical University, “a wall that is supposed to be a green wall is designed within a 3-month education period and the resulting products are examined in terms of landscape value. As a result of the study, the importance of the designed walls in terms of landscape value and the importance of the designs made with ecological concerns in the education process were emphasized.

Rapid urban growth and high density limited green areas in urban spaces of New Cairo. Growing literature propose vertical gardens to increase green areas with various potentials. The study is testing the hypothesis of vertical gardens, as a restorative tool in urban space. The aim is achieved through investigating the perceived restoration, and the consequential change of heart rate and blood pressure. Using a quasi-experiment; two groups of twenty participants each were exposed to a graphic simulation with and without vertical gardens in a certain context in New Cairo. Results assessed the effect on each group through SPSS and presented a comparative analysis between mean ratings of the restorative scale test, heart rate and blood pressure. Findings showed that the group exposed to vertical gardens was with higher restorative effect and lower stress levels. This proved that vertical gardens could enhance the quality of life through its restorative effect.

Санкт-Петербурге».В дипломной работе был запроектирован 30-этажный апартамент-отель высотой 120,0 метров, с Ð´Ð²ÑƒÑ ÑƒÑ€Ð¾Ð²Ð½ÐµÐ²Ð¾Ð¹ подземной автостоянкой в г. Санкт-Петербурге.В Ñ Ð¾Ð´Ðµ выполнения дипломной работы были разработаны разделы проектной документации на строительство высотного апартамент-отеля с Ð´Ð²ÑƒÑ ÑƒÑ€Ð¾Ð²Ð½ÐµÐ²Ð¾Ð¹ подземной автостоянкой в соответствии с Постановлением Правительства РФ от 16.02.2008 No87 (ред. от 15.07.2021) и актуальными нормативными документами.В Ñ€Ð°Ð¼ÐºÐ°Ñ Ð½Ð°ÑƒÑ‡Ð½Ð¾â€“Ð¿Ñ€Ð°ÐºÑ‚Ð¸Ñ‡ÐµÑÐºÐ¾Ð¹ части были проанализированы различные подвиды Ð·ÐµÐ»ÐµÐ½Ñ‹Ñ Ñ„Ð°ÑÐ°Ð´Ð¾Ð², выполнено сравнение Ð¸Ñ Ñ Ð°Ñ€Ð°ÐºÑ‚ÐµÑ€Ð¸ÑÑ‚Ð¸Ðº, изучены разновидности растений с учетом ÐºÐ»Ð¸Ð¼Ð°Ñ‚Ð¸Ñ‡ÐµÑÐºÐ¸Ñ ÑƒÑÐ»Ð¾Ð²Ð¸Ð¹ г. Within the framework of the scientific and practical part, the disclosure of the design features of the creation of vertical gardens and their classification, possible solutions for the installation of green facades in St. Petersburg were madeAs a result, various subspecies of green facades were analyzed, their characteristics were compared, plant varieties were studied for the presence of characteristics conducive to survival in the climate of St. Petersburg, a design suitable for installation on a high-rise building was selected, a calculation was made for the thermal characteristics of such a design. As a result of the calculation, it was revealed that green facades are energy-efficient and conveniently operated, with the correct selection of the design of their implementation.

El presente trabajo de grado presenta un plan de negocio para la creación de una empresa de infraestructura verde, los principales productos son los jardines verticales, cubiertas verdes y huertas urbanas, con el propósito de compensar el CO2 que necesita la ciudad. Bogotá cuenta con una densificación crecimiento y solo se tiene 1.2 m2 por habitante, se requieren más zonas verdes y jardines que contribuyan a la oxigenación y al paisaje. Tener plantas en la casa ayuda a disminuir el estrés, esto beneficia para poder mantener relajadas a las personas ya que la jardinería nos ayuda a combatir el estrés, de una manera mucho más eficaz El diferencial de la creación de empresa es un dispositivo que permite medir el PH del suelo, la asolación del jardín, la hidratación que requiere las plantas entre otras bondades, este con el fin de garantizar a tiempo que el jardín se deteriore y se pueda actuar a tiempo y ahorrar en mantenimiento. También utilizar un sistema de recirculación mecánico de agua el cual se purifica, ahorrando agua para el riego de las plantas. En cuanto a contexto social se involucrará personal que será el encargado de proveer semillas, esto por medio de fundaciones que se dedican a esta labor. De acuerdo al estudio realizado se logró evidenciar que uno de los fatores que pesa para tomar la decisión de adquirir un jardín vertical o huerta urbana es el mantenimiento, en ocasiones las plantas instaladas no son las aptas para el clima donde se instalan, el agua no es la suficiente para mantenerlas saludables, el sustrato no cuenta con los componentes necesarios y en especial el bolsillo hidropónico en el cual sirve para su crecimiento no contiene las medidas necesarias para que las raíces de la plantas permitan un crecimiento acorde a su especie. Esta es la razón por la cual las plantas en ocasiones pueden generar deterioro, y es aquí donde los especialistas en plantas deben asesorar a las personas y brindarle la debida capacitación para el mantenimiento del jardín. [ES] Hoy en día gracias a Internet de las Cosas (IoT) se puede controlar cualquier objeto desde cualquier parte a través de internet, sin embargo, cada vez más, se espera que los sistemas sean autónomos y tomen decisiones correctas por sí solos que permitan ahorrar agua, luz, batería, etc. Por otra parte, como es conocido, el mundo agrícola es un sector donde se realiza un mayor consumo de agua, lo que supone la necesidad de un sistema de riego eficiente. Debido a ello, se desea implementar un sistema de riego inteligente para jardines verticales. El proyecto consiste en la creación de un programador de riego que no necesita supervisión humana ya que proporciona a las plantas el agua necesaria en función de la humedad del suelo requerida por cada tipo de planta, logrando así una optimización de agua. El sistema es controlado por un programador que, basándose en los parámetros de humedad de suelo de cada zona, configurados por el usuario, gestiona el riego. La configuración de dichos parámetros, así como la visualización de los valores de los sensores y el control del riego, se puede realizar desde cualquier lugar y desde cualquier dispositivo mediante una página web. Esto se logra gracias a un servidor alojado en la nube que permite la comunicación entre el programador y la página web con la que interactúa el usuario. El trabajo de profundización busca determinar el impacto en el desarrollo de competencias para la solución de problemas de acuerdo a la teoría de Polya. La estrategia implementada fue “ECO-STEM”. Esta fue desarrollada con estudiantes de los grados noveno de la Institución Educativa Capitán Miguel Lara de Puerto López – Meta. A partir de la propuesta de Polya (1965) se diseña e implementa la estrategia “ECO-STEM” mediante el proyecto de huertas verticales. La estrategia está dividida en siete etapas: clasificar residuos orgánicos, diseñar composteras, implementar compostaje, construir estructura vertical, siembra, construir sistema de riego convencional y sistema de riego automático. Cada etapa está compuesta por los estados: planteamiento del problema, investigación, sustentación, retroalimentación, construcción y práctica en TIC. Las competencias para la solución de problemas fueron evaluadas según las cuatro fases de la propuesta de Polya (1965): entender el problema, diseñar el plan de solución, ejecutar el plan y evaluar el plan. La vegetación urbana ha sido considerada en los últimos años como alternativa para mitigar la contaminación del aire en las áreas urbanas. Este artículo utilizó una revisión sistémica para abordar las diferentes alternativas que permitieran evaluar la evidencia disponible sobre si las intervenciones ecológicas urbanas, como la plantación de árboles, parques, techos verdes, jardines verticales y jardines comunitarios urbanos influyen de manera eficiente sobre la calidad del aire en áreas urbanas. La mayoría de estudios investigados respaldan ampliamente la hipótesis de que las intervenciones ecológicas puede inducir a cambios el medio ambiente, al menos a escala local. Los artículos revisados aportan una mayor atención a los efectos en la creación de parques y los árboles aislados, mientras que los efectos de los techos verdes y jardines verticales han sido menos estudiados, sin embargo estos han cobrado bastante interés en los últimos años debido a la disponibilidad de área. No obstante, los jardines comunitarios urbanos aunque se reconocen como sistemas socioecológicos dinámicos que aportan servicios ecosistemicos, la literatura ha restringido su efecto hacia los beneficios que aportan en la calidad del aire. Si bien, la mayoría de casos aporta efectos positivos del efecto de la vegetación urbana sobre la calidad del aire, esta es respaldada por los efectos que ejercen las plantas al almacenar carbono. Por lo tanto, la evidencia actual no permite hacer recomendaciones específicas sobre la mejor manera de incorporar los diferentes tipos de intervenciones ecológicas urbanas para mejorar la calidad del aire en áreas urbanas. Urban vegetation in recent years has been considered as an alternative to mitigate air pollution in urban areas. This article used a systemic review to address the different alternatives that would allow evaluating the available evidence on whether urban ecological interventions such as tree planting, parks, green roofs, vertical gardens and urban community gardens efficiently influence air quality in urban areas. Most researched studies broadly support the hypothesis that ecological interventions can induce changes in the environment, at least locally. The reviewed articles bring greater attention to the effects on the creation of parks and isolated trees, while the effects of green roofs and vertical gardens have been less studied, however these have gained considerable interest in recent years due to the area availability.However, urban community gardens are recognized as dynamic socio-ecological systems that provide ecosystem services, the literature has restricted their effect to the benefits they bring to air quality. Although the literature in most cases provides positive effects of the effect of urban vegetation on air quality, it is supported by the effects that plants have when storing carbon. Therefore the current evidence does not allow making specific recommendations on the best way to incorporate the different types of urban ecological interventions to improve air quality in urban areas. Con el desarrollo de esta propuesta se describe la manera como los estudiantes del grado décimo del Colegio Chuniza I.E.D. aprenden el concepto de energías limpias y renovables para la mitigación del CO2, mediante el diseño y desarrollo de una ATE, enmarcada en el análisis a través de la experimentación, Por lo tanto, al plantear este proyecto de investigación desde las áreas de Tecnología-Informática y Ciencias Naturales, se requiere orientar aprendizajes sobre: a) Calentamiento global, b). V poskusu, ki je bil opravljen leta 2016 v bivalnem prostoru stanovanjske hiše, smo želeli preučiti možnost gojenja bazilike v vertikalnem sistemu. V poskus smo vključili 4 sorte bazilike ('Emily', 'Red Rubin', 'Piccolino' in 'Lemon'). Šest tednov stare sadike smo presadili v plastične lončke, ki smo jih napolnili s kokosovimi vlakni (po 4 rastline na lonček). Na koncu smo lončke s sadikami, po obravnavanjih, postavili v plavajoč sistem (9 lončkov = 36 rastlin/obravnavanje) in vertikalni sistem (9 lončkov = 36 rastlin/obravnavanje). Da bi ugotovili primernost vzgoje bazilike v vertikalnem sistemu smo pri rastlinah analizirali nekatere morfološke parametre (višino, število razvitih listov, dolžino in število stranskih poganjkov ter svežo in suho maso) in vsebnost L-askorbinske kisline. Pri merjenju višine nismo zaznali večjih posebnosti, saj so bile rastline dokaj izenačene v obeh sistemih gojenja. Na splošno so bile rastline, ki smo jih gojili na plavajočem sistemu večje od tistih v vertikalnem sistemu. Le pri sorti 'Red Rubin' so bile večje tiste rastline, ki smo jih gojili v vertikalnem sistemu (13,2 cm) v primerjavi s plavajočim sistemom (8,3 cm). Pri številu razvitih listov so bile rastline prav tako izenačene ne glede na tehnologijo gojenja, le pri sorti 'Piccolino' smo zabeležili nekoliko večje odstopanje (plavajoč sistem je imel v povprečju 173,8 razvitih listov, vertikalni sistem pa 113,2 razvitih listov). Tudi pri merjenju dolžine stranskih poganjkov in njihovem številu smo najboljše rezultate zabeležili pri sorti 'Piccolino'. Največji pridelek sveže mase smo ugotovili pri sorti 'Piccolino' vzgojeni v plavajočem sistemu (142,8 g), vendar so imele v povprečju rastline, vzgojene v vertikalnem sistemu, večjo svežo maso. Pridelek suhe mase je bil prav tako večji pri rastlinah, gojenih v vertikalnem sistemu, izjema je le sorta 'Emily' kjer smo dobili večji pridelek pri vzgoji na plavajočem sistemu. Meritve L-askorbinske kisline so pokazale, da so v povprečju največ L-askorbinske kisline vsebovale rastline, vzgojene na plavajočem sistemu ('Emily' 21,4 mg/100 g, 'Red Rubin' 16 mg/100 g, 'Lemon' 16 mg/ 100 g), vendar pa smo kljub temu največjo vrednost izmerili pri sorti 'Piccolino', vzgojeni v vertikalnem sistemu (30,6 mg/100 g). In an experiment conducted in 2016 in a living room of a dwelling house, we wanted to examine the possibility of cultivating sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) in a vertical system, which we created in our direction. In the experiment, we included 4 varieties of sweet basil ('Emily', 'Red Rubin', 'Piccolino' and 'Lemon'). After six weeks, the seedlings were transplanted into the plastic pots, filled with coconut fibers (4 seedlings per sweet basil variety). Finally, we planted the seedlings by treatments in the floating system (9 pots = 36 seedlings/treatment) and the vertical system (9 pots = 36 seedlings/treatment). To determine the suitability of cultivating the sweet basil in the vertical system, we measured some morphological parameters (height, number of leaves developed, length and number of shoots, fresh and dry weight) and L-ascorbic acid content. No major peculiarities were detected when measuring the height as the plants were fairly uniform in both cultivation systems. In general, the plants grown on the floating system were higher than those in the vertical system. Only the 'Red Rubin' variety was higher in the vertical system (13,2 cm) compared to the floating system (8,3 cm). By the number of leaves developed, the plants were also equalized by cultivation technologies, with the exception of 'Piccolino' variety, where slightly greater deviations have been observed (floating system 173.8 medium-developed leaves, vertical system 113.2 medium-developed leaves). Even when measuring the length of the side shoots and their number, the best results were recorded with the 'Piccolino' variety. The highest yield of fresh mass was recorded in the 'Piccolino' variety, grown in the floating system (142,8 g), but on average the plants grown in the vertical system had a higher fresh mass. The dry weight yield was also higher for plants, cultivated in the vertical system, except for the 'Emily' variety, where we obtained a larger yield when cultivated on a floating system. L-acorbic acid measurements showed that, on average, the most of the vitamin C contained plants cultivated on a floating system ('Emily' 21,4 mg/100 g, 'Red Rubin' 16 mg/100 g, 'Lemon' 16 mg/100 g). Nevertheless, the highest value of L-ascorbic acid was recorded in the 'Piccolino' variety, grown in vertical system (30,6 mg/100 g).

Budezavantajlardan en önemlisi; doğanın bir parçası olan insanın kentlerdekikalabalıklaşma ve yapılaşmadan dolayı doğadan uzaklaşmasıdır. Doğadan uzaklaşaninsanlar yapısı gereği stres gibi birçok psikolojik sorunlar yaşamaktadır. Bunoktada hem ekolojik faydaları, hem kentin en sıkışık ve yapısal alanlarında doğalalanlar yaratmaktaki avantajı ile dikey bahçeler ön plana çıkmaktadır. Dikey bahçelerin kentlerde sayısızfaydaları bulunmaktadır. Bu faydalardan insanın kendisi için en önemlilerindenbir tanesi, doğal alanlar yaratarak insanları kentin stresli ve yapısalyaşantısından uzaklaştırmasıdır. Dikey bahçelerin kentlerde kolay ve en azmaliyetle uygulanabileceği alanlar ise kentlerde bolca bulunan duvarlar veköprü ayaklarıdır. Bu çalışmada; Dünyadakentlerde uygulanan dikey bahçe örnekleri incelenmiş, İç Anadolu Bölgesi’ndedikey bahçelerde kullanılabilecek bitkiler belirlenerek, başkentin merkezindebulunan yapısı ile kötü bir görüntüye sahip olan Sıhhiye köprüsü ve çevresiiçin dikey bahçe tasarımı gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma ve tasarım yarıkurak ve kurak bölgelerde bulunan diğer şehirler için örnek teşkil edecektir., By the year 2050, it is estimated that will live in urban center’s about80% of the world's population. There are several disadvantages to living incities as well as many advantages. The most important of these disadvantages;people who are a part of nature move away from nature because of crowding andbuilding in cities. People who move away from nature are experiencing manypsychological problems such as stress. Vertical gardens are very important itsecological benefits and the advantage of creating the natural areas in the mostcongested and structural areas of the city. Vertical gardens have numerous benefits in cities. One of the mostimportant benefit for humans is that they create natural areas and removestressful and structural life in the cities. The areas where vertical gardenscan be applied at the easiest and least cost in the cities are the walls andbridges in the cities. In this study;Vertical garden samples applied in the world are examined. For example;İstanbul, Trabzon, Ankara, Southern France, Bengaluru, etc. and the plants havebeen determined that can be used in the vertical gardens in the CentralAnatolia region. As a result of the study, a vertical garden design wasprepared for Ankara Sıhhiye bridge and its surroundings, which had a badappearance due to its structure. This study will set an example for othercities located in semi-arid and arid regions.
