This research aimed to identify the characteristics of the work context of servants of a body of the Brazilian Judiciary Power and the relationship of these variables with the quality of life at work. The Activity Ergonomics Applied to Quality of Life at Work (EAAQVT) approach was adopted as a theoretical-methodological reference. 169 servers participated, 92 women and 77 men, with an average age of 41.5 years. 23 focus groups were conducted, in which a semi-structured script was used. Of the 23 focus groups, 18 were validated and submitted to thematic content analysis performed by judges. The empirical categories obtained were devaluation, demotivation, and disgust; organizational management; impacts of the electronic process; workload; insufficient working conditions; and relationships with colleagues, leadership, and senior management. A work context characterized by contradictions and demands that potentiate experiences of malaise and risk of illness was identified, thus compromising the quality of life at work.
