The aim of the research is to determine the effect of circadian rhythm and fatigue status on hedonic eating of healthcare personnel working in shifts. The research is a descriptive and cross-sectional study conducted using quantitative research methods. The population of the research consists of 366 healthcare professionals working in all block clinics of a city hospital in Istanbul, and the sample consists of a total of 175 shift healthcare personnel, male and female, between the ages of 18-55, determined by simple random sampling method. As a data collection tool in the research; A survey form questioning socio-demographic information and anthropometric values, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Emotional Appetite Scale (DIA) and Occupational Fatigue, Burnout and Recovery Scale (OFER) were used. In the analysis of data; Independent Samples t Test, ANOVA and Perason Correlation analysis were performed. The average sleep disorder rate of female health workers was found to be higher than that of men. A significant difference was detected between sleep duration and daytime dysfunction in shift workers according to snack consumption status. It has been observed that the sleep quality of shift workers is negatively affected and the risk of chronic diseases increases due to wrong eating habits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
