Another managerial intuition is revealed through the numerical result that the stock should be held in a rented warehouse when deterioration in the owned warehouse increases, despite the cost of a rented warehouse. Technology improvements in the retail industry influence the buying behaviours of customers. In the retail industry, it has been observed that the selling price of goods and promotional efforts influence a customer's choice. In the retail sector, the popularity of financing schemes i.e., trade credit offered by suppliers rather than financial institutions has also grown. Taking such a scenario into consideration and with reference to the retail sector, an inventory model has been developed for non-instantaneous deteriorating items. Effect of inflation also incorporated in model. Customers' demand is affected by the selling price of the product and the retailer's promotional efforts. During a shortage period, the backlogging rate of demand is considered a function of the waiting period. The retailer can also take advantage of a trade credit facility provided by the supplier. Furthermore, holding cost is time-dependent, and an investment is made to reduce ordering cost. Various theoretical results are obtained that maximize the retailer's total profit. To gain better managerial insights, sensitive analysis and numerical examples are provided. The results indicate that the retailer's profit increases as the trade credit period increases. Further, the profit of the retailer increases if the retailer deals in products with a longer non-deteriorating period. Time-dependent holding cost shows a significant impact on the profit of retail. Trade credit is generally used by businesses to obtain external funds. This article demonstrates an inventory system from the retailer's point of view in which (1) the influence of trade credit on expanding small businesses and their consumers is the focus of this research, and (2) the retailer's on-hand inventory follows the non-instantaneous deterioration. (3) To maximize profit, the demand is disclosed, which is based on not just the sales price, but also on cumulative demand, which indicates saturation and diffusion. (4) The product's initial price and the permitted discount rate at the time of deterioration are considered to be time-dependent functions of the sales price. In the absence of deterioration, the item is sold at a constant rate, and whenever deterioration occurs, the sales price is assumed to be an exponential function of the discount variable. The main aim is to optimize the total profit of the retailer in terms of cycle time and sales price. The traditional algorithm of optimization is used to address the optimization problem. Finally, the theoretical results are validated by solving three numerical illustrations and conducting a sensitivity analysis of the main factors resulting from the following managerial implications: (1) credit period provides the maximum profit margin of any financing method, and (2) an increase in the initial rate of demand raises sales price while increasing overall profit significantly. Deterioration, a continuous process of all items, may be low or high for different items. This paper develops an inventory model for stock-dependent demand and time varying holding cost under different trade credits, considering four different situations. The second order approximations are used for exponential terms. Optimal solutions are obtained using Mathematica 9.0 software. Numerical examples and sensitivity analysis are provided to illustrate the proposed model.

Although numerous researchers have developed different inventory models for deteriorating items, very few of them have taken the maximum lifetime of a deteriorating item into consideration. This paper illustrates a mathematical model to obtain an optimal replenishment policy for deteriorating items with maximum lifetime, ramp-type demand, and shortages. Both holding cost and deterioration function are linear functions of time, which are treated as constants in most of the deteriorating inventory models. A simple solution procedure is provided to obtain the optimal solutions. Numerical examples along with graphical representations are provided to illustrate the model. In the production system, the production of a perfect item is essential for existing competitive market situations. To produce a perfect finished product, the quality of a raw material is a crucial issue of a production system. This paper has examined this issue with an insightful production-inventory model of the manufacturer of a deteriorating item selling goods to multiple markets with different selling seasons. We have provided an answer strategy to track down the optimal production plan for raw materials and the ideal creation plan for completed items. Transportation cost was incorporated for transporting the raw material. Marketing of the finished product is another crucial factor for selling products and earning revenues. The main objective of the present study is to adopt a production model in inventory for inferring request capacities for multi-item, multi-outlet circumstances. As of late, much accentuation has been given to the consideration of the control and support of creation inventories of disintegrating things. The demand rate is persistent and holding cost is a direct function of time. This paper has followed an analytical approach to diminish the entire inventory cost. Finally, a sensitivity analysis was performed to study the effect of changes of different parameters of the model on the optimal policy.
