Moving contact line dynamics calculations include two models: precursor film models and slip models. The lubrication approximation method is used to establish a three-dimensional mathematical model to analyze the droplet thermocapillary migration behavior on a non-uniformly heated solid substrate with a wettability track. The contact line dynamics in the slip model and the disjoining pressure effect in the precursor model are proposed to regulate the substrate wettability. Both models are numerically implemented to investigate droplet spreading for three cases: free spreading on an isothermal substrate, thermocapillary migration on a uniform wettability substrate, and thermocapillary migration on a wettability-confined track. For the case of free spreading on an isothermal substrate, the three-dimensional results of the slip and precursor contact line models are essentially consistent with two-dimensional slip model results. For the case of thermocapillary migration on a uniform wettability substrate, the results of the two models essentially agree with the experimental results. Decreasing the thermal gradient reduces the discrepancies between the two models that result from the coordinate transformation method used in the slip model, which reduces the contact angles measured in the y-direction and enlarges the advancing contact angle in the migration direction. For the case of thermocapillary migration on a wettability-confined track, the slip model gradually shows a "dynamic-pinning" behavior with increasing equilibrium contact angle in the hydrophobic region. By contrast, the precursor film model maintains a stationary pinning behavior but separates a residual liquid outside the track. The precursor film model is preferred over the slip model in lubrication approximations for three-dimensional fluids when calculating complex moving contact dynamics caused by wettability differences. Background: Successfully restoring facial contours continues to pose a significant challenge for surgeons. This study aims to utilize head-mounted display-based augmented reality (AR) navigation technology for facial soft tissue defect reconstruction and to evaluate its accuracy and effectiveness, exploring its feasibility in craniofacial surgery. Methods: Hololens 2 was utilized to construct the AR guidance system for facial fat grafting. Twenty artificial cases with facial soft tissue defects were randomly assigned to Group A and Group B, undergoing filling surgeries with the AR guidance system and conventional methods, respectively. All postoperative three-dimensional models were superimposed onto virtual plans to evaluate the accuracy of the system versus conventional filling methods. Additionally, procedure completion time was recorded to assess system efficiency relative to conventional methods. Results: The error in facial soft tissue defect reconstruction assisted by the system in Group A was 2.09 ± 0.56 mm, significantly lower than the 3.23 ± 1.15 mm observed with conventional methods in Group B (p < 0.05). Additionally, the time required for facial defect filling reconstruction using the system in Group A was 25.45 ± 2.58 min, markedly shorter than the 37.05 ± 3.34 min needed with conventional methods in Group B (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The visual navigation offered by the fat grafting AR guidance system presents obvious advantages in facial soft tissue defect reconstruction, facilitating enhanced precision and efficiency in these filling procedures. Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology is the main means of reducing NO X emissions. Urea injection structure parameters (i.e., the hole number in a nozzle, spray angle, the distance between the nozzle and the front section of the catalyst) and operating parameters (i.e., exhaust gas temperature, gas hourly space velocity, ammonia-to-nitrogen ratio (ANR)) of the SCR systems have a significant impact on denitrification efficiency (deNO X). A three-dimensional simulation model is developed to investigate the impact of diverse parameters on deNO X. The influence of temperature, ANR and space velocity on the deNO X of SCR system is studied by using the control variable method. The simulation model is modified according to the SCR catalyst gas distribution test results. A diesel bench experiment is conducted to test the deNO X of the SCR system of D2 cycle and two additional operating points to verify the accuracy of the numerical simulation model. Based on this model, the influence of key factors on the deNO X of SCR system is studied. In SCR system, the optimal urea injection angle is about 75°, the optimal number of nozzle holes is 4, the distance between the optimal urea injection point and the front section of the catalyst is 8 times of the pipe diameter, and the optimal operating temperature is 300 ∼ 420℃. The influence trend of ANR on deNO X at different temperatures is obtained. Background: The neurovascular conflict (NVC) at the brainstem exit zone of the facial nerve is considered the primary etiology of primary hemifacial spasm (HFS). Therefore, microvascular decompression (MVD) has become the preferred treatment for HFS. Successful neurovascular decompression can achieve significant therapeutic effects, and accurately identifying the site of compression is crucial for the success of this surgery. Detailed diagnostic neuroimaging plays an important role in accurately identifying the site of compression.The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility and predictive value of preoperative visualization assessment of the neurovascular relationship in HFS using 3D Slicer software based on multimodal imaging fusion. This aims to reduce the omission of responsible vessels and lower the incidence of postoperative complications, thereby potentially improving the efficacy and safety of the surgery. Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed 80 patients with HFS who underwent MVD surgery. All patients underwent preoperative cranial MRI scans, including the 3D-FIESTA and the 3D-TOF MRA sequences. Three-dimensional models were reconstructed from the multimodal MRI images using 3D Slicer software. Independent observers, who were blinded to the surgical outcomes, evaluated the neurovascular relationships using both the three-dimensional models and multimodal MRI images. The assessment results were compared with intraoperative findings, and statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 22.0 software. Results: The agreement between preoperative assessment using the 3D-TOF MRA sequence combined with the 3D-FIESTA sequence and intraoperative findings was represented by a Kappa value of 0.343, while the Kappa value for agreement between three-dimensional reconstruction and intraoperative findings was 0.637. There was a statistically significant difference between the two methods (X2 = 18.852, P = 0.001). The sensitivity and specificity of the 3D-TOF MRA sequence combined with the 3D-FIESTA sequence for evaluating neurovascular relationships were 92.4% and 100%, respectively, while for three-dimensional reconstruction, both were 100%. The Kappa value for agreement between preoperative the 3D-TOF MRA sequence combined with the 3D-FIESTA sequence prediction of offending vessels and intraoperative findings was 0.625, while the Kappa value for agreement between three-dimensional reconstruction and intraoperative findings was 0.938, showing a statistically significant difference (X2 = 317.798, P = 0.000). The Kappa value for agreement between preoperative the 3D-TOF MRA sequence combined with the 3D-FIESTA sequence assessment of the anatomical location of facial nerve involvement in neurovascular compression and intraoperative findings was 0.608, while the Kappa value for agreement between three-dimensional reconstruction and intraoperative findings was 0.918, also showing a statistically significant difference (X2 = 504.647, P = 0.000). Conclusions: The preoperative visualization assessment of neurovascular relationships in HFS using 3D Slicer software based on multimodal imaging fusion has been demonstrated to be reliable. It is more accurate than combining the 3D-TOF MRA sequence with the 3D-FIESTA sequence and shows higher consistency with intraoperative findings. The dynamic characteristics of the track and bridge system change continuously with the mileage and operating environment, exhibiting highly significant nonlinear and nonuniform spatial distribution features. Based on the Generalized Rayleigh–Ritz Method (GRRM) and Component Mode Synthesis (CMS), this work presents a novel method to establish a three-dimensional model of train–track–bridge interaction that considers the nonuniform distribution of track–bridge system parameters and the nonlinear contact between track and bridge layers. Unlike traditional Finite Element Method (FEM) models, the GRRM-based structure employs generalized displacements without nodal degrees of freedom, thus avoiding the complex processes of element discretization and assembly when constructing tracks/bridges with nonuniform physical and geometric parameters. Additionally, when dealing with the nonlinear contact relationship between track and bridge layers, this model does not require incremental or iterative methods. By introducing CMS to truncate the modes of each substructure in the track–bridge system and establishing the reduced-order model of the entire system based on boundary conditions at the coupling interface, the matrix dimensions can be effectively reduced, thereby improving computational efficiency. The accuracy and efficiency of this newly developed train–track–bridge dynamic model have been validated through comparisons with FEM-based models and measured results. AbstractThis study presents a comprehensive characterization of the Pliocene reservoir formation in the Temsah gas field, located 65 km NNW of Port Said in the northeastern Nile Delta Basin. The research integrates seismic data with well log analysis to enhance reservoir characterization. The Temsah gas field is distinguished by its intricate geological structure, featuring numerous normal faults oriented along northeast-southwest and northwest-southeast trends. The field’s stratigraphy is predominantly composed of sandstone and shale facies, which are considered highly prospective for hydrocarbon accumulation. A full geological field analysis was conducted to identify key prospects for enhancing productivity. To accurately delineate seismic features, data from four wells and twenty-nine 2D seismic lines were interpreted. Depth maps of the reservoir layers were constructed, highlighting critical transitions between sandstone and shale facies, which are pivotal for future exploration efforts. A detailed 3D static model was developed to illustrate the impact of lithological composition on reservoir characteristics, with a specific focus on the Upper Sand of Kafr El-Sheikh Formation. Petrophysical properties, including effective porosity (13–23%), shale content (7–31%), and water saturation (30–45%), were meticulously evaluated to inform the creation of a robust 3D property model. This model provides a detailed spatial distribution of rock facies and petrophysical parameters within the Temsah gas field. The integration of these studies identified two promising areas, with estimated original gas in place (OGIP) ranging from 2.86 to 4.04 stock cubic feet (SCF), indicating significant potential for field development and enhancement. As the Rural Revitalization Strategy continues to progress, there is an increasing demand for the digitization of rural houses, roads, and roadside trees. Given the characteristics of rural areas, such as narrow roads, high building density, and low-rise buildings, the precise and automated generation of outdoor floor plans and 3D models for rural areas is the core research issue of this paper. The specific research content is as follows: Using the point cloud data of the outer walls of rural houses collected by backpack LiDAR as the data source, this paper proposes an algorithm for drawing outdoor floor plans based on the topological relationship of sliced and rasterized wall point clouds. This algorithm aims to meet the needs of periodically updating large-scale rural house floor plans. By comparing the coordinates of house corner points measured with RTK, it is verified that the floor plans drawn by this algorithm can meet the accuracy requirements of 1:1000 topographic maps. Additionally, based on the generated outdoor floor plans, this paper proposes an algorithm for quickly generating outdoor 3D models of rural houses using the height information of wall point clouds. This algorithm can quickly generate outdoor 3D models of rural houses by longitudinally stretching the floor plans, meeting the requirements for 3D models in spatial analyses such as lighting and inundation. By measuring the distance from the wall point clouds to the 3D models and conducting statistical analysis, results show that the distances are concentrated between −0.1 m and 0.1 m. Purpose: Concurrent use of minus heads with tapered stems in total hip arthroplasty (THA) decreases the prosthetic range of motion (pROM). Three-dimensional preoperative templating can simulate the location of the impingement by taking the hip through a virtual pROM. This enables surgeons to simulate how modifying the type of implant, orientation, and position influences impingement. We hypothesized that CT-based modeling would result in a decrease in the pROM, thereby increasing the risk of impingement when minus heads are used. Methods: Forty-three patients who underwent robotic-assisted primary THAs were included. Prosthetic head diameter (32/36-mm) and head length (minus/zero/plus) were the predictors. Maximum external rotation at full hip extension and internal rotation at 90° and 100° of flexion prior to prosthetic impingement were the outcome variables. A CT-based preoperative planning software was used for pROM estimation and impingement detection. Results: Significant decreases in pROM were found for both head diameters as the head length decreased and was more pronounced in external rotation during full hip extension (changes of 2.8–3.4° for the 32-mm head and 1.6–2.8° for the 36-mm head (p = 0.00011)). The magnitude of loss in pROM when using a minus head was larger than the gain provided by a plus head in tapered stems (p < 0.0001). Conclusion: Head length affects the offset and pROM. When the use of minus heads or smaller heads is indicated, 3D preoperative templating for assessing postoperative pROM and impingement provides surgeons with options to consider alternate surgical plans offering additional assurance and protection from dislocation. This paper discusses web slenderness effects on the flexural behaviour of epoxy adhesive-bonded compound normal and high-strength steel beams. The compound beams were simply supported and consisted of an I-section connected, on its top flange, to a channel section using an epoxy adhesive. A non-linear three-dimensional finite-element modelling study was performed using Abaqus software for the analysis of the beams. The non-linear finite-element modelling was verified against tests on compound steel beams with different cross-sections. An extensive parametric study was carried out using the finite-element modelling to study the effects of the change in web slenderness, cross-sectional geometries, beam lengths and steel strengths on the flexural behaviour of compound steel beams. The failure moments predicted by the finite-element modelling were compared with the design moments predicted by the European code for steel beams in flexure. It is shown that the code generally overestimated the design failure moments for most of the epoxy adhesive-bonded compound steel beams investigated in this study. In addition, reliability analysis was performed to assess the reliability of the design rules of the code. Diagnosis of compound faults plays a significant role in evaluating the health status of a gearbox. The difficulty of compound fault diagnosis is due to the entanglement of fault symptoms. In this work, diagnosis of single and compound uniform wear and tooth root crack via gear condition indicators have been studied analytically. A three-dimensional dynamic model that can include several design parameters and working conditions has been employed to model the dynamic of compound faults for the first time. The effect of fault severity, noise, working conditions, and design parameters on the diagnosis efficiency have been investigated. The qualitative and quantitative assessment of fault diagnosis has been accomplished via t-SNE and Generalized Discriminative Value (GDV) measures, respectively. The results show that the gear condition indicators are more suitable to assess the general health state of the gearbox. However, their ability to detect the type of fault and decouple compound faults are limited. This research proposes an innovative method to convert the modeling of three-dimensional structures to the modeling of two-dimensional structures for the stability analysis of long tubular buildings. The process of the proposed method is in the form of modeling the equivalent frame and then modeling the reduced frame using the equivalent moment of inertia for beams and columns. The second-order elastic analysis has been performed considering the effects of P-Δ and P-δ. Framed-tube and frame tube-in-tube systems have been used for modeling. Newton's Raphson and Crisfield's Arc Length methods have also been used for nonlinear analysis. The accuracy and speed of analysis of the new method have been checked by comparing the displacements and drifts in the modeled systems for 40 and 50 stories tall buildings. For each structure, two framed-tube and tube-in-tube systems are considered. In the presented method, the number of nodes and elements in the reduced model is much less. The method presented in this research can reduce the amount of calculating the response of tall structures and the duration of the analysis. One of the advantages of the presented method is the acceptable accuracy of the analysis along with the high speed of the analysis. We prove a Steiner formula for regular surfaces with no characteristic points in 3D contact sub-Riemannian manifolds endowed with an arbitrary smooth volume. The formula we obtain, which is equivalent to a half-tube formula, is of local nature. It can thus be applied to any surface in a region not containing characteristic points. We provide a geometrical interpretation of the coefficients appearing in the expansion, and compute them on some relevant examples in three-dimensional sub-Riemannian model spaces. The problem of seepage control is faced in the construction of large underground powerhouse cavern systems. To reduce leakage and improve the permeability stability of the surrounding rock, a complex seepage control system, including drainage hole arrays, drainage tunnels, and grouting curtains, was designed for the Wunonglong underground powerhouse caverns. In this study, we performed a seepage field numerical analysis of the Wunonglong underground powerhouse caverns system to optimize the seepage control system. A three-dimensional numerical model was established considering the complex seepage control system and the geological conditions. A steady seepage analysis method, with a variational inequality formulation, was adopted in order to calculate the long-term seepage field. A drainage substructure method was used to simulate the seepage behavior of the densely arranged drainage hole arrays. The seepage control effects of single and double grouting curtains were compared to determine a reasonable curtain layout scheme. The effect of the drainage system on the seepage control of the powerhouse caverns is further discussed. The findings offer reliable insights into the seepage behavior of underground powerhouse caverns and provide a reference for the design and construction of similar underground powerhouse cavern systems. In order to meet the basic design requirements for high critical speed met, and anti-cavitation performance enhanced of Integrated Motor Pump-Jet (IMP) thrusters, a three-dimensional model of the IMP thruster using the blade parameter three-dimensional (3D) inverse design method was developed. The model utilises the shear stress transport (SST) turbulence model and the Zwart–Gerber–Belamri (Z-G-B) cavitation model. Then, based on the non-dominated ranking genetic algorithm and multi-objective parameter seeking theory to improve the IMP thruster's cavitation improvement optimization design. After optimisation, the hydrodynamic performance and anti-cavitation performance of the rotor blades were slightly improved. In order to further carry out the design of anti-cavitation performance, the oblique flow is introduced to further analyse according to the influence mechanism. The main focus was on the IMP thruster's excitation force, pulsation pressure and velocity distribution, the oblique flow angle had less impact than the cavitation number in the oblique flow field. Radiative cooling has proven to be a useful tool to address the problems of lack of comfort and excessive energy consumption in situations of high temperatures, overheating and heat waves. Likewise, incorporating courtyards in warm climate zones has been found to be highly beneficial in addressing similar challenges. Hence, there is interest in analyzing the combined effects of both: radiative cooling and courtyards. This paper presents an analysis of the impact of the application of radiative cooling on a courtyard using a comprehensive simulation approach that includes a CFD model for the thermodynamic airflow in the adjacent roofs and inside the courtyard, equations for the transient heat conduction through roofs, walls and courtyard slabs, and a hybrid raytracing-radiosity model for the evaluation of the solar radiation reaching the building surfaces and its reflections, both of specular and diffuse origin, and for the calculation of the thermal radiation exchange, especially with the sky. The results show that in the hot season, the courtyard with radiative cooling always provides lower temperatures than the initial courtyard does, with a temperature range of 18.33 °C to 33.78 °C, compared to a range of 19.32 °C to 38.00 °C in the initial courtyard, and producing a greater difference with outdoor temperatures that can reach 12 °C versus 8 °C for the reference case. In addition, it was found that the courtyard with radiative cooling is able to significantly reduce the observed nighttime overheating by providing lower temperatures than the outdoor temperatures in the 50% of the nights studied. It was also found that the thermal loads to achieve indoor thermal comfort in the spaces adjacent to the courtyard were reduced by 63.46% to 69.85%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this research, a sawing mechanism of a mobile buckling machine was innovatively designed for the forest resources and environmental characteristics of the northeast region of China. The northeast region of China is rich in forest resources, but the climate is cold, which puts high demands on the performance and adaptability of mechanical equipment. In this study, the three-dimensional modeling of the saw-cutting mechanism was completed by Pro/Engineer 5.0 modeling software, and an in-depth dynamics simulation analysis was carried out using dynamics simulation software. The study aims to assess the applicability of this saw-cutting mechanism in the northeast region of China, analyze its design characteristics, and explore possible directions for performance optimization. Through this study, we expect to provide valuable references for future technological innovations, as well as to promote the practical application and development of mobile buckling machines in cold regions. Many systems in the manufacturing industry have spatial distribution characteristics, which correlate with both time and space. Such systems are known as distributed parameter systems (DPSs). Due to the spatiotemporal coupling characteristics, the modeling of such systems is quite complex. The paper presents a new approach for three-dimensional fuzzy modeling using Simultaneous Perturbation Stochastic Approximation (SPSA) for nonlinear DPSs. The Affinity Propagation clustering approach is utilized to determine the optimal number of fuzzy rules and construct a collection of preceding components for three-dimensional fuzzy models. Fourier space base functions are used in the resulting components of three-dimensional fuzzy models, and their parameters are learned by the SPSA algorithm. The proposed three-dimensional fuzzy modeling technique was utilized on a conventional DPS within the semiconductor manufacturing industry, with the simulation experiments confirming its efficacy. Soil–structure interaction (SSI) leads to a modification in the dynamic properties of structure, but due to the complexity of analysis, it is traditionally assumed in seismic designs that the structure is fixed-supported on the ground, which brings about potential risks to the seismic performances of structure. The study works on the possibility of SSI having detrimental effects by comparing the dynamic responses of the SSI system to a fixed-base structure, and presents charts for an evaluation of the system frequency of SSI for the purpose of engineering practice. In order to reveal the physical nature, the SSI model is reduced to its simplest form, consisting of a SDOF oscillator, a three-dimensional rectangular foundation, and a multi-layered half-space. The energy dissipation in the soil is achieved by foundation impedances and the substructure method. Previously, the foundation impedances are usually acquired by two-dimensional or axisymmetric three-dimensional models in uniform half-space to avoid the high cost of the more realistic, fully 3D models, while a high-precision indirect boundary element method is employed, combined with the non-singular Green's functions of distributed loads to calculate the foundation impedances. Although SSI dampens the peak amplitude of structure response in the frequency domain, case studies on four buildings' responses to 42 earthquakes in the time history show a possibility of 15–20% that SSI amplifies the dynamic responses of structures, such as the maximum and the mean values in the time history, depending on the properties of the structures and the site, as well as the frequency component of incident waves. As mining engineering progresses into the deep excavation phase, the intensification of high pressure, high temperature, strong disturbances, and complex geological conditions becomes increasingly prominent. Researchers perform stability analysis on the excavation area to reduce potential safety hazards during the extraction process. Developing a detailed numerical calculation model that accurately reflects the true geological structure is essential for numerical simulation analysis in mining engineering. Based on the excellent 3D geological modeling capabilities of 3D Mine software, this paper introduces a new 3D geological and numerical unified modeling method (3DMine-Rhino-HyperMesh) involving multi-software coupling and details the specific steps and concepts of this modeling approach. Subsequently, using a certain open-pit mine in Panzhihua as a backdrop, a detailed geological and numerical unified model is established, reflecting the true geological structure of the mining area, and the potential failure mechanisms of the mine slope are analyzed. The results indicate that the modeling method aligns well with the actual geological conditions, enhancing the grid quality of the numerical model and offering a new modeling approach for simulating and analyzing large complex geological entities in mining operations. By utilizing motion relationships and the potential field theorem of robot motion, a three-dimensional model of the power inspection robot's route is established to determine the direction of the robot's route when obtaining action tasks. The fuzzy support vector algorithm is used to plan obstacle avoidance paths for the initialized walking path, making the inspection robot intelligent. The experimental results show that the average success rates for avoiding static and dynamic obstacles are 98.37% and 96.12%, respectively. The average time for obstacle avoidance path planning is 1.56 seconds, and it has fast, efficient, and accurate obstacle avoidance and path planning capabilities, which can improve the robot's obstacle avoidance ability and path planning efficiency for dynamic and static obstacles. In this paper, a three-dimensional dynamic model of a dual-cable winding hoisting system is presented to simulate and analyze its coupled vibrations. The equations of motion of this system are derived based on a substructure method and Lagrange's equations of the first kind, in which the longitudinal–torsional coupled mechanical characteristics of the hoisting cables are considered. Longitudinal and transverse natural frequencies of the system are obtained and studied, and its dynamic responses due to some assumed displacement excitations are calculated. Numerical results agree well with those from ADAMS simulation, and the results have shown that longitudinal and transverse resonances are inevitable, but the transverse resonance has little effect on the conveyance; Slow longitudinal excitations should be avoided, thus avoiding the first-order longitudinal resonance since the system longitudinal vibration is dominated by its first-order mode; the torque in the hoisting cable is mainly induced by its tension under longitudinal–torsional coupled mechanical characteristics of the cable, and a torque release device is suggested to protect the hoisting cable from torsion failure; Torsional and transverse vibrations of the conveyance are been well restricted by the guiding cables even when the guiding cable pre-tension is zero. The establishment of harmonious police-community relations is a important factor in advancing the modernization of public security endeavors, linked to the exercise of authority, value orientations, and the core mission of law enforcement agencies. The OIC model considers police professional prestige, image, and credibility. Utilizing the OIC three-dimensional model as a foundation, this study examines the intricate mechanisms and explanatory frameworks underlying the relationship between police professional prestige, police image, police law enforcement credibility, and police-community relations. This study surveyed police officers and citizens in X city. Through a comprehensive questionnaire survey and rigorous data analysis, the study reveals several noteworthy findings: (1) police professional prestige has a significant positive predictive effect on police-community relations; (2) police image plays a partially mediating role between police professional prestige and police-community relations; (3) police law enforcement credibility plays a partially mediating role between police professional prestige and police-community relations; (4) police image and police law enforcement credibility can play a chain mediating role between police professional prestige and police-community relations; (5)police image and police law enforcement credibility jointly play a sequential mediating role, bridging the gap between police professional prestige and police-community relations. The three-dimensional dynamical model for nonlinear viscoelasticity of strain-rate type is investigated in a quasistatic setting under the assumption of higher-order regularity of the deformation, which in the literature is referred to as the case of non-simple materials. The existence of weak solutions is proven using a time-discretization technique while respecting the condition of dynamical frame indifference. Some observations on frame indifference for strain-rate-type stresses are made, and corrections are proposed for some related work in the literature. Background and purpose: Ir192 vaginal brachytherapy (IBT) is commonly used for patients with postoperative endometrial cancer (EC). We devised a novel multichannel vaginal applicator that could be equipped with an electronic brachytherapy (EBT) device. We aimed to explore the differences in physical parameters between the EBT and IBT. Materials and methods: This retrospective study included 20 EC patients who received adjuvant IBT from March 1, 2023, to May 1, 2023. Multichannel vaginal cylinders were used, and three-dimensional plans were generated. We designed an electronic multichannel vaginal applicator model and simulated a three-dimensional EBT plan. In order to ensure comparability, D90 of the CTV for the EBT plan was normalized to be equivalent to that of the IBT plan for the same patient. Results: Twenty EBT plans were compared with 20 IBT plans. Results showed, the mean D90 value of clinical target volume (CTV) was 536.1 cGy for both treatment plans. For the mean dose of CTV, the EBT was significantly greater (738.3 vs. 684.3 cGy, p = 0.000). There was no significant difference in CTV coverage between the EBT and IBT plans. For high-dose areas (V200% and V150%), the EBTs were significantly greater. There were no significant differences in the maximum doses to the vaginal mucosa between the EBT and IBT, whether at the apex or in the middle segment. For the bladder and rectum, both the low-dose area and high-dose area were significantly lower in the EBT plans. For the conformity index, there was no significant difference between the EBT and IBT plans. For the dose homogeneity index, the EBT value was lower. Conclusion: In conclusion, under the premise of a three-dimensional brachytherapy plan, for patients receiving multichannel vaginal applicator brachytherapy, compared with IBT, EBT could reduce the dose to the surrounding organs at risk while maintaining the dose in the target area. Historical buildings carry the key technologies and practical values throughout the development of architectural heritage. Investigating the restoration techniques for historical buildings under various forms of damage is an essential step in the conservation and utilization of these structures. Utilizing Web of Science (WOS) and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) as the primary databases, this study employs the PRISMA methodology to search and screen relevant research literature. A comprehensive review of the retained literature is conducted, analyzing publication trends, co-citation networks of authors and keywords, among other characteristics. To enhance the visibility of restoration techniques, three-dimensional modeling diagrams are created using actual case information of material or component damage as a reference, thereby increasing the referential value of the review content on historical building restoration techniques. The study provides a thorough review of over 30 restoration techniques corresponding to 9 types of damage from the perspectives of historical building walls and wooden components. Additionally, new materials or technologies mentioned in the retrieved literature are categorized; for instance, in the context of moisture-proof treatment for brick masonry, traditional methods are explained, and new research on electrochemical desalination and lipid-based waterproof materials is discussed and evaluated. Finally, given the multifaceted value and the variable mechanisms of damage in historical buildings, an analysis of the restoration process and techniques reveals that the restoration of historical buildings is a complex interdisciplinary process. The development and implementation of restoration plans should adhere to the principles of cultural relic protection to ensure their reasonableness and effectiveness, while also considering sustainability and environmental adaptability to protect and reuse historical buildings, thus leveraging their cultural and historical values. The effectiveness of road signs is hindered by obstructions, such as vegetation, mutual obstruction of signs, or the road alignment itself. The traditional evaluation of road sign recognition effectiveness is conducted through in-vehicle field surveys. However, this method has several drawbacks, including discontinuous identification, unclear positioning, incomplete coverage, and being time-consuming. Consequently, it is unable to effectively assess the recognition status of road signs at any arbitrary point within the road space. Therefore, this study employed laser scanning to construct a point-surface model, which was based on a point cloud algorithm and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), integrated LiDAR and inertial navigation system data, and optimized the point model after processing steps such as denoising, resampling, and three-dimensional model construction. Furthermore, a method for assessing the highway sign occlusion rate based on the picking algorithm was proposed. The algorithm was applied to an actual road environment, and the occlusion by other items was simulated. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the method. To clarify the influence range and saturation distribution after the biogas desaturation method is applied, a three-dimensional model is established with TOUGH2 software to analyze the effect of construction parameters such as grouting volume, grouting rate, grouting depth, nitrogen source concentration, and soil porosity. Pedestrian bridges, which are essential in urban and rural infrastructures, are vulnerable to vibrations induced by pedestrian traffic owing to their low mass, stiffness, and damping. This paper presents a novel predictive model of Human-Structure Interaction (HSI) that integrates a three-dimensional biomechanical model of the human body, and a pedestrian bridge represented as a simply supported Euler-Bernoulli beam. Using inverse dynamics, the human model accurately captures three-dimensional gait and its interaction with structural vibrations. The results show that this approach provides precise estimates of human gait kinematics and kinetics, as well as the bridge response under pedestrian loads. The incorporation of a three-dimensional human gait model reflects the changes induced by bridge vibrations, providing a robust tool for evaluating and improving the effect of structural vibrations on the properties and gait patterns. The initial compression wave induced by a 400 km/h high-speed train entering a tunnel in two cases (offset running and center running) is investigated by overset mesh technology. The governing equations of the IDDES model for three-dimensional, unsteady, compressible flow are employed. The meshing strategy and numerical algorithm are validated by moving model test data. The spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of the initial compression wave and the one-dimensional planar wave characteristics are analyzed. The results show that the compression waves undergo three stages: from an irregular spherical shape near the train to an oblique shape, and finally to a one-dimensional planar wave. The initial compression wave captured at the measurement points at a distance of 5Di (Di represents the equivalent diameter of the tunnel) from the tunnel portal has been fully characterized by one-dimensional features, which can provide a boundary input for the propagation of the initial compression wave towards the tunnel exit. Compared to the offset running case, the initial compression wave amplitude and pressure gradient amplitude induced by central running are reduced by 3.66% and 6.87%, respectively. The seismic hazard of a fault system is controlled by the maximum possible earthquake magnitude it can host. However, existing methods to estimate maximum magnitudes can result in large uncertainties or ignore their temporal evolution. Here, we show how the maximum possible earthquake magnitude of a fault system can be assessed by combining high-resolution fault coupling maps with a physics-based model from three-dimensional dynamic fracture mechanics confirmed by dynamic rupture simulations. We demonstrate the method on the Anninghe-Zemuhe fault system in southwestern China, where dense near-fault geodetic data has been acquired. Our results show that this fault system currently has the potential to generate Mw7.0 earthquakes with maximum magnitudes increasing to Mw7.3 by 2200. These results are supported by the observed rupture extents and recurrence times of historical earthquakes and the b values of current seismicity. Our work provides a practical way to assess the earthquake potential of natural faults. This study introduces a novel approach for the segmentation and classification of tooth types in 3D dental models, leveraging the Adaptive Enhanced GoogLeNet (AEG) classifier and a Custom Mask Convolutional Neural Network (CM-CNN). Motivated by the complexities and potential misinterpretations in manual or semi-automatic tooth segmentation, our method aims to automate and enhance the accuracy of dental image analysis. The 3D dental models are processed using CM-CNN for segmentation, followed by classification using the AEG classifier. It has not yet been proven whether sepsis affects the tissue around the anal canal. To address this issue, we established three-dimensional models for various types of anorectal abscesses and utilize 3D reconstruction of Magnetic Resonance Imaging scans to assess the extent of muscle damage caused by anorectal abscesses. Patients diagnosed with anorectal abscess, selected from January 2019 to January 2022 underwent pre- and post-operative scanning of pelvic floor and perianal tissues. The aforementioned structures were segmented for the reconstruction of a three-dimensional visual model and measurement of volumes for the abscess as well as the internal and external sphincters and levator ani muscle. The study included a total of 42 patients. Three-dimensional visualization models were created for different types of anorectal abscesses, including perianal, intersphincteric, ischiorectal, and supralevator abscesses. No statistically significant differences were observed in the volume of the internal sphincter, external sphincter, and levator ani muscle between pre- and post-operative patients. The 3D model of anorectal abscess, reconstructed from MRI data, offers a precise and direct visualization of the anatomical structures associated with various types of anorectal abscesses. The uncertainty of structural interpretation complicates the practical production and application of data-driven complex geological structure modeling technology. Intelligent structural modeling excavates and extracts structural knowledge from structural interpretation through human–machine collaboration and combines structural interpretation to form a new model of complex structural modeling guided by knowledge. Specifically, we focus on utilizing knowledge rule reasoning technology to extract topological semantic knowledge from interpretive data and employ knowledge inference to derive structural constraint information from complex geological structure models, thus effectively constraining the 3D geological structure modeling process. To achieve this, we develop a rule-based knowledge inference system that derives theoretical models consistent with expert cognition from interpretive data and prior knowledge. Additionally, we represent the extracted knowledge as a topological semantic knowledge graph, which facilitates computer recognition and allows estimation of intersection lines during 3D geological modeling, resulting in the creation of accurate models. The applicability of our proposed method to various complex geological structures is validated through application tests using real-world data. The Qinling water conveyance tunnel has a large buried depth and high in-situ stress level, and rockburst disasters frequently occurred during excavation. In order to find out the mechanical mechanism of rockburst, the research work in this paper is as follows: (1) In-situ three-dimensional hydraulic fracturing method was used to measure the in-situ stress of the deep buried tunnel crossing the ridge. (2) Based on the measured in-situ stress results, the stress distribution characteristics of the tunnel crossing the ridge were obtained by the multiple linear regression method, and the rockburst tendency during construction was predicted. (3) A three-dimensional numerical model of tunnel excavation was established to analyze the dynamic adjustment characteristics of the surrounding rock stress and elastic strain energy during TBM excavation, and to clarify the mechanical mechanism of rockburst. The research results show that the maximum principal stress of the deep-buried tunnel crossing the ridge of Qinling is 40–66 MPa, which belongs to extremely high in-situ stress level, and medium-strong rockburst may occur during excavation. In the process of TBM excavation, the stress of the surrounding rock in the range of 2.6 times the diameter of the tunnel before and after the working face is adjusted violently, and the concentrated zones after the stress redistribution are mainly distributed in the arch roof and arch bottom, and the stress concentration coefficient can reach 2.06. The arch roof, arch waist, and arch bottom are susceptible to immediate rockburst due to stress transient unloading at the moment of excavation. After the elastic strain energy of the surrounding rock at the arch roof and the arch bottom is released and accumulated, it is easy to cause time delayed rockburst, and the depth of the rockburst pit can reach 3.5 m, which is consistent with the rockburst phenomenon in the field. This crossover design study was conducted to verify the usefulness of two-dimensional (2D) scan-based three-dimensional (3D)-printed wrist splints versus that of 3D scan-based 3D-printed wrist splints. To apply the two splints to the participants, made using different methods, a crossover design was applied by randomly assigning two groups of five people each. Their work performance and wrist pain were then evaluated. Work performance was evaluated by using a grooved pegboard. Wrist pain was evaluated by using the patient-rated wrist evaluation (PRWE) before and after performing the grooved pegboard test. No statistical difference existed in task performance between each splint group. Wrist pain was significantly higher for splints made with the 3D scanning method than for splints made with the 2D scanning method. Results of a kinetic study of the pyrolysis of woody biomass (Quercus robur) under conditions of continuous heating to a temperature of 873 K at a constant rate of 1.25, 2.5, 5, and 10 K/min have been discussed. An integral method has been used to describe the reaction mechanism and determine the macrokinetic parameters. It has been found that, from a phenomenological point of view, the averaged woody biomass pyrolysis reaction under test conditions corresponds to a three-dimensional diffusion model (1.25 K/min), a model described by the third-order reaction equation (2.5, 5 K/min), and a one-dimensional diffusion model (10 K/min). In this case, the relative standard deviation of the conversion values calculated using this equation from the test data is <11.2%. The division of the averaged reaction into three stages (first stage is completed at a temperature of 390 K; the second, at 579 K; the third, at the completion of the conversion process) leads to agreement between the calculated degree of degradation of the studied biomass samples and the test values in a range of the degree of degradation of 0–1. Although the relative standard deviation does not exceed 3.5%, the division of the averaged reaction into stages does not exclude discrepancies in the values of the determined macrokinetic parameters. It has been shown that the choice of the model that provides the best description of the wood conversion process depends on heating rate during the tests. Owing to this dependence, the macrokinetic parameter values significantly differ from each other. Taking this fact into account, it can be concluded that the selected models and calculated macrokinetic parameters are of a formal nature and cannot be thought of as physicochemical characteristics that are universal with respect to the subject of research. Discrepancies in calculations of macrokinetic parameters that are caused by the effect of heating rate can be eliminated by studying the kinetics of conversion under isothermal conditions (at a constant temperature). Rapid flow-like landslides frequently occur in mountainous regions. To mitigate the disasters caused by these landslides, it is crucial to develop robust numerical models that can accurately predict their run-out processes. Models based on the material point method (MPM) offer significant advantages in simulating large deformation issues in geomaterials, including landslides. However, applying these models to accurately simulate real-world rapid flow-like landslides remains a challenge, primarily due to the complexities involved in handling the three-dimensional (3D) sliding bed boundary. This paper introduces a novel 3D MPM model specifically designed for simulating rapid flow-like landslides that propagate across curved beds. The constraints of the sliding bed on the landslide are imposed by the boundary nodes close to the bed. These boundary nodes carry information about the normal vector of the sliding bed, derived directly from the digital terrain model (DTM). Furthermore, the model integrates a hybrid formulation that combines the Full Lagrangian Implicit Particle (FLIP) method with the Particle In Cell (PIC) method, facilitating a stable solution for the velocity and position of material points. The effectiveness of the proposed model is confirmed through a numerical analysis of a rigid block sliding down an inclined plane and an experiment of sand flow on a curved bed. The simulation results from these two benchmark scenarios align closely with both analytical and experimental data, attesting to the validity of the model. The model is then applied to analyze a rapid flow-like landslide that occurred in Gansu Province, China, characterized by a curved sliding bed. The outcomes illustrate the model's capability to efficiently capture the landslide's climbing and turning motions induced by the meandering topography. Moreover, it successfully reproduces the main deposition characteristics observed in the field, demonstrating the model's strong suitability for simulating the propagation of rapid flow-like landslides on naturally curved beds. The estimation of rockfall frequency for the quantitative assessment of rockfall hazard is challenging when there are not records of previous events. The aim of this study is to investigate the correlation between the rockfall frequency and the geometry of the overhanging rock blocks, at rocky slopes. The investigation takes place for seven rocky slopes along a coastal road in Northern Spain, and it is based on 15 years of rockfall data. A field survey of these slopes took place between May and June 2022, using a terrestrial laser scanner as well as ground and aerial photogrammetry from UAVs, in order to build three-dimensional digital models. Then, the geometrical attributes of the existing overhanging rocks were measured on the models. The surface area and the width of the latter were calculated. The correlation between the rockfall frequency and the sum of the overhanging areas at each slope was assessed. A good linear correlation was indicated between the normalized per slope area number of rockfalls and total overhang area (R2 = 0.9013) and between the respective normalized per unit of road length parameters (R2 = 0.9594). We applied physics-informed neural networks to solve the constitutive relations for nonlinear, path-dependent material behavior. As a result, the trained network not only satisfies all thermodynamic constraints but also instantly provides information about the current material state (i.e., free energy, stress, and the evolution of internal variables) under any given loading scenario without requiring initial data. One advantage of this work is that it bypasses the repetitive Newton iterations needed to solve nonlinear equations in complex material models. Furthermore, after training, the proposed approach requires significantly less effort in terms of implementation and computing time compared to the traditional methods. The trained model can be directly used in any finite element package (or other numerical methods) as a user-defined material model. We tested this methodology on rate-independent processes such as the classical von Mises plasticity model with a nonlinear hardening law, as well as local damage models for interface cracking behavior with a nonlinear softening law. In order to demonstrate the applicability of the methodology in handling complex path dependency in a three-dimensional (3D) scenario, we tested the approach using the equations governing a damage model for a three-dimensional interface model. Such models are frequently employed for intergranular fracture at grain boundaries. However, challenges remain in the proper definition of collocation points and in integrating several non-equality constraints that become active or non-active simultaneously. As long as we are in the training regime, we have observed a perfect agreement between the results obtained through the proposed methodology and those obtained using the classical approach. Purpose: Artificial intelligence (AI)-tools hold great potential to compensate for missing resources in health-care systems but often fail to be implemented in clinical routine. Intriguingly, no-code and low-code technologies allow clinicians to develop Artificial intelligence (AI)-tools without requiring in-depth programming knowledge. Clinician-driven projects allow to adequately identify and address real clinical needs and, therefore, hold superior potential for clinical implementation. In this light, this study aimed for the clinician-driven development of a tool capable of measuring corneal lesions relative to total corneal surface area and eliminating inaccuracies in two-dimensional measurements by three-dimensional fitting of the corneal surface. Methods: Standard slit-lamp photographs using a blue-light filter after fluorescein instillation taken during clinical routine were used to train a fully convolutional network to automatically detect the corneal white-to-white distance, the total fluorescent area and the total erosive area. Based on these values, the algorithm calculates the affected area relative to total corneal surface area and fits the area on a three-dimensional representation of the corneal surface. Results: The developed algorithm reached dice scores >0.9 for an automated measurement of the relative lesion size. Furthermore, only 25% of conventional manual measurements were within a ± 10% range of the ground truth. The memristor, a novel device, has been widely utilized due to its small size, low power consumption, and memory characteristics. In this paper, we propose a new three-dimensional discrete memristor map based on coupling a one-dimensional chaotic map amplifier with a memristor. Firstly, we analyzed the memristor model to understand its characteristics. Then, a Simulink model for this three-dimensional discrete memristor map was developed. Lastly, the complex dynamical characteristics of the system were analyzed via equilibrium points, bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponent spectra, complexity, and multistability. This study revealed the phenomena of coexisting attractors and hyperchaotic attractors. Simulink modeling confirmed that the discrete memristors effectively enhanced the chaos complexity in the three-dimensional discrete memristor map. This approach addresses the shortcomings of randomness, the lack of ergodicity, and the small key space in a one-dimensional chaotic map, thereby enriching the theoretical analysis and circuit implementation of chaos. Due to limited data on the geochemical properties of natural gas, estimations are needed for the effective gas source rock in evaluating gas potential. However, the pronounced heterogeneity of mudstones in lacustrine successions complicates the prediction of the presence and geochemical characteristics of gas source rocks. In this paper, the Liaohe Subbasin of Northeast China is used as an example to construct a practical methodology for locating effective gas source rocks in typical lacustrine basins. Three types of gas source rocks, microbial, oil-type, and coal-type, were distinguished according to the different genetic types of their natural gas. A practical three-dimensional geological model was developed, refined, and applied to determine the spatial distribution of the mudstones in the Western Depression of the Liaohe Subbasin and to describe the geochemical characteristics (the abundance, type, and maturation levels of the organic matter). Application of the model in the subbasin indicates that the sedimentary facies have led to heterogeneity in the mudstones, particularly with respect to organic matter types. The effective gas source rock model constructed for the Western Depression shows that the upper sequence (SQ2) of the Fourth member (Mbr 4) of the Eocene Shahejie Formation (Fm) and the lower and middle sequences (SQ3 and SQ4) of the Third member (Mbr 3) form the principal gas-generating interval. The total volume of effective gas source rocks is estimated to be 586 km³. The effective microbial, oil-type, and coal-type gas source rocks are primarily found in the shallow western slope, the central sags, and the eastern slope of the Western Depression, respectively. This study provides a practical approach for more accurately identifying the occurrence and geochemical characteristics of effective natural gas source rocks, enabling a precise quantitative estimation of natural gas reserves.
