A study was aimed to delineate the micronutrient status, their change directive with time and relationship with other soil variables in piedmont soils of Bangladesh. Northern and Eastern Piedmont Plains (AEZ 22) is one of the 30 agro-ecological zones (AEZs) of the country whose bench mark status of soil micronutrient has been used for comparing with the present status. There is an indication of zinc (Zn) and boron (B) depletion to some extent after a decade of time whereas the very high fertility status of copper (Cu), manganese (Mn) and iron (Fe) prevails as it was in the previous status. In general view, the micronutrient content of surface soil (0-15 cm) was higher than those of sub-surface soils (15-30 cm). In surface soil clay content showed significant correlation with soil Zn (r=0.403**), Cu (r=0.752**), Fe (r=0.501**) and Mn (r=0.340**). Cu content of soil exhibited positive relationship with all the soil parameters except soil pH and P content; there existed highly significant negative correlation of Cu with soil pH (r=-0.578**) and P (r=-0.420**). The availability of Fe in soil was strongly related with soil clay content (r=0.501**), soil pH (r=-0.686**) and organic matter content (r=0.527**). In surface soil, Fe content influenced significantly with the content of Zn, Cu and Mn. Accordingly in sub-surface soil, positive significant interaction of Zn-Fe, Cu-Fe, Cu-Mn and Fe-Mn was observed. The message revealed from this study concerning nutrient depletion, and interactions among different soil parameters and nutrient elements will pave the way for efficient use of soil resources in a sustainable way.

Located in the Trans-Gangetic Plains of India, Kurukshetra is dotted with a number of man-made, perennial, sacred ponds of great historical and religious importance. These wetlands also serve as important wintering and stopover sites for birds coming from the Palearctic region. Surveys were conducted from April 2014 to March 2015 to recordthe diversity and status of avifauna in four sacred ponds of Kurukshetra. Point counts and direct observations were used to record the bird species. A total of 126 bird species of 98 genera belonging to 45 families and 16 orders were identified, of which 41 were winter migrants, six were summer migrants, and 79 were residents. Anatidae (n=15) was the most common family, followed by Ardeidae (n=8), and Motacillidae and Muscicapidae (n=7 each). Based on the guilds, 37 species were carnivorous, 36 omnivorous, 29 insectivorous, six herbivorous, six frugivorous, five granivorous, four insectivorous/nectarivorous, and three piscivorous. Of the species recorded, five species are classified as Near Threatened and one species as Vulnerable in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species; nine species are listed in Appendix II of Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and six species are included in Schedule I of the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. We hope that this study will provide a baseline for future research on monitoring the population and seasonal changes in the bird assemblageof sacred ponds.

- Abstract
This essay is an analysis of the horse during the scandinavian bronze age, more specifically southern scandinavia with a breaking point at circa Gothenburg. The questions regard whether or not the horse was a high status animal during older to younger bronze age in the region and whether or not we can argue this based on rock carvings, horse gear and other pictorial renderings where the horse is present. The question is if we really can separate high status from religious status, and where we should go with our analysis when there has only been one person doing the framework for the entire bronze age cosmology.

Avian composition of the Chittagong University Campus (CUC), Chittagong, Bangladesh was studied through direct field observations between 2007 and 2014. Two-hundred-and-fifteen species belonging to 63 families were recorded during the study period, which are 33.08% of the country’s total species of birds. Among the birds, 160 species were resident, 51 migratory and 4 vagrant; of which 101 species were very common, 36 common, 29 uncommon, 22 few and 27 rare. The status of these birds in CUC has also been compared with the country’s status. The species richness of birds in the study area reveals that it is a potential habitat for birds, so an urgent step should be taken to conserve this unique habitat in Bangladesh.

It is evident that the participation of the local community plays a crucial role in the success of a conservation project. Despite initiating and leading the oldest Batagur affinis conservation project in Malaysia since 1967, which involved egg protection, head starting and reintroduction programs, the Department of Wildlife and National Parks did not involve the participation of the local community. This study provides the first account of the involvement of local villagers in B. affinis research and conservation project in the Kemaman River, Terengganu, Malaysia. As a result of involving this group of local villagers, the Village Development and Security Committee was recruited to be involved in the conservation project. From 2012 to 2016, we hand captured and processed 102 post-nesting females. The Schnabel mark-recapture method estimated at least 186 wild female B. affinis in the river. We collected 2,542 B. affinis eggs from 205 nests for incubation, and produced 1,723 hatchlings (mean hatching success 67.8%). Survivorship of head started B. affinis hatchlings in captivity ranged from 96.7−100 % among cohorts. Head started hatchlings recorded a 467% increase in body mass and 90% increase in straight carapace length. We reintroduced 1,690 B. affinis juveniles into the river. We also initiated a symbolic adoption program to raise funds and ensure the sustainability of the conservation project. This study proves that local communities are capable of managing their own resources, given sufficient training in conservation techniques.

Nancy Fraser, American philosopher, argues that claims for recognition of difference push at present, many social conflicts in the world and cover a wide range of aspirations, from the emancipation to the more openly roundly rejected. This multiplicity of movements seeking to express their demands through the language of recognition. 66 María Nohemí González Civilizar 10 (18): 65-74, enero-junio de 2010 Today, the claim of identity supplants class interest and makes it the best means of social mobilization. This new vision requires to Guild an intellectual and practical enterprise, which must be the dissolution of the concept of identity as a category of social analysis. The author proposes the model’s status as an alternative model in this configuration. What requires recognition is not group-specific identity but the status of individual members of a group as full participants in social interaction. To participate fully in a social group requires a new model of justice that has the capacity to sustain the lack of recognition and cultural value can not be understood apart from economic conditions and can not block the distribution of wealth. Also economic reasons, such as income distribution, counts as subtext for the recognition. Only considering both dimensions simultaneously it is possible to determine what prevents equal participation in a particular case. This is achieved by analyzing the overlap between recognition and redistribution to determine what is the best way to remedy the injustice.

- Abstract
The purpose of the work is to investigate what the conditions were like for women born out of wedlock during the 19th century in Stranda judicial district in Småland. Since the Middle Ages, illegitimate children have had a special position in Swedish society, they have been regulated by both laws and by the religious power and this makes them an interesting group to investigate. Furthermore, my work intends to investigate women born out of wedlock, this as women throughout history have also experienced social and legal restrictions. Combining these two subordinate groups in society and examining how their lives turned out is not only a fairly unexplored area of research but also an interesting one. In the work, a comparison between the 1830s and the 1860s will be carried out in order to examine whether the position of women born out of wedlock in society came to change. The conclusion is that there wasn’t a significant difference between the women born in the 1830s and the 1860s, most women got married and their husbands were neither socially untouchable nor from a similarly unfortunate upbringing as the women was. It’s also possible to see that the economic situation for the women wasn’t as bad as one might think but it’s important to clarify that only a handful of estate inventories were found in the archives. To summarize it’s possible to say that these women were not as badly affected by their title as illegitimate as previous dissertations have concluded and it’s even possible to think that illegitimate children in this part of Småland wasn’t as badly thought of as we like to think.

INSTITUTIONAL care of children , *CHILD services , *CHILD care , *INSTITUTIONAL care - Abstract
Summary: There has been long-standing academic interest in the study of residential child care. Such study has made a valuable contribution to the development of both services and care practice. The perspectives of young people have, however, received less attention. This gap is most significant in relation to their group care experiences. Indeed the resident group is seen as a somewhat negative force and one from which children and young people require protection. This article uses data from one ethnographic study undertaken in Scotland to explore the ways in which young people in residential care offer one another support. Findings: The findings from this study illustrate the various functions that the group serves for residents and the ways in which young people achieve status within such groups. In particular this article focuses on young people's use of support. It was found that support was provided in a number of ways, ranging from material provision to advice. Applications: It is argued that whilst the individualization of care is necessary in terms of care planning and intervention, the experience of group living must not be overlooked. Practitioners need to have a clear sense of how their group is functioning and seek to encourage positive group behaviours. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The article addresses the problem of socialization of the elderly. Changes in the status of persons of the gerontological group of the population during different historical periods, the attitude of the society towards them, the key roles and functions are considered. The purpose of the article is to investigate the dynamics of the process of socialization of the elderly through their roles, place, attitude towards them during different historical periods, using an interdisciplinary approach. The use of the method of comparison, analysis, synthesis and generalization is required to build a methodological basis for the study and theoretical substantiation of the technology of social and pedagogical support of the elderly in the age of the information society. The results of the study of the historical course of the dynamics of socialization of the elderly make it possible to identify the problems of this process at different times, taking into account the conditions of life in the society. The historical understanding helps to predict the further development of the problem and reveal the ways of solving it by applying social pedagogy. Having studied the process of socialization of the elderly in phylogenesis, one can say with decision that the sociocultural, natural conditions, the mentality played a key role in the life of elderly people, and, accordingly, the attitude of the society towards them, their respect or discrimination. In a traditional society, the status of the older population was unstable, due to the fact that it experienced ups and downs, which directly affected the intensity of the society development. According to the studies, the wisdom and social experience of the older population, which was transferred to younger generations, contributed to human evolution. In an industrial society, the life expectancy has increased and this age group has lost its high positions, which required the search for new mechanisms of influence on younger generations and, Decision making groups, including European juries, often contain factions differing in status. Mock juries composed of trained and layperson status factions decided guilt and punishment for realistic cases of university code violations. Cases presented predominantly intellective or judgmental issues, and juries had to justify verdicts according to facts alone, or facts and values. Compared to laypersons, trained factions influenced group decisions more, but only in judgmental cases, or when having to include values in justification. They more actively discussed the judgmental cases, and engaged more than laypersons in normative influence. Trained jurors appear to wield social/normative power, impacting judgmental issues more. Consistent with their minority status, laypersons engage in more informational than normative influence. The fact that laypersons are as active in discussing intellective cases as are trained members, and are equally informational in their style of influence, enhances their impact when deciding issues that revolve around gathering facts to reach a correct decision. - Abstract

- Abstract
To fight as a gladiator held such appeal to some Romans during the early empire that they actually were ready to incur the legal stigma of infamia (infamy) just in order to participate as gladiators. But there were not only men who were drawn to the lure of the arena, even women fought as venatores (beast-hunters) and gladiators in the Roman games. The roman historian Cassius Dio informs us that in the early empire during the reign of Nero even men and women from the equestrian and senatorial rank participated in the arena in increasing numbers. This often overseen fact that women would appear as participants in the gladiatorial games in the Greco-Roman world is just another signifier that we have to re-evaluate our knowledge of the women of antiquity and their social outlooks. The fact that women participated is in a sense nothing new for the modern scholars, who have tended to view the evidence in the light of the lacking material and appearance in the ancient sources and have been content to explain the phenomena as something of a novelty, which does not tell us much about the romans or their society at all. But what does the appearance of women in the gladiatorial games tell us about the Romans view on gender roles in the arena? How did a female gladiator differ from a male gladiator in the Roman empire? With an intersectional perspective and a close-reading of the texts referring to female and male contestants and gladiators this study has showed that the roman elite observed the female gladiators with overwhelmingly negative attitudes if they where of higher social status. In this case they differ little from male gladiators. But attitudes concerning female gladiators were not all bad, especially if they were of no prominent class, some were even praised for their bravery and likened with Amazons or even Heraclese

- Abstract
Son los mismos hablantes del español andino que muestran las actitudes menos positivas., In this study the linguistic attitudes towards the Andean Spanish of students at three universities with different socio-linguistic and socio-economic contexts in La Paz, Bolivia, are analyzed. In the survey two techniques are used: matched guised where informants evaluate four voices, two Andean Spanish-speaking people and two "standard" Spanish-speaking people in which the rate of solidarity and status is measured; and a questionnaire with a semantic differentiation scale which measures attitudes towards different kinds of transfers from Aymara to Andean Spanish. The results of the analisis indicate that the attitude towards speakers of "standard" Spanish is more positive than the attitude towards Andean Spanish speakers, it provoces more solidarity and especially more status. The very same speakers of Spanish Andean show the least positive attitudes.

- Abstract
The purpose of this study, was to see if there were any connections between dialects and the listeners expectations on the identity of the person who speek the dialect. Are our expectations effected by earlier experience, that we tend to analyze a person, and judge him or her, on their dialect? What does the interview person think about his own dialect? The questions were as follows: What does the interviewee think about his/her own dialect? In what way did the interviewed person get influenced by the dialects and which expectations can be found that are influenced by earlier experiences? Methodologically a semi-structured interview-structure was used, following a frame which would represent different head-themes. The selected crowd consisted of twelve interview persons between the age of 20-30. The interviews lasted for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. The obtained result indicated that most of our interview persons where effected of themes as expectations and solidarity when it came to their vision of their own and other peoples' dialects.

- Abstract
Planned change and change-related communication are perceived very differently by the members of an organization. Strongly varying perceptions of new tasks, work processes and goals make joint action difficult and cause the failure of many change initiatives. The purpose of this study is to investigate how internal communication and sensemaking processes contribute to the perception of strategic change among the members of a public service organization. The following questions are answered: How does the management plan and perform internal communication during a strategic change of the Swedish public service television company Sveriges Television (SVT)? How do the members of the organization make sense of a strategic change and the internal communication related to the changes that are planned and carried out? A social constructivist perspective combined with theories of sensemaking, communication, social identities, roles, groups, power and status constitutes the analytical framework. The investigation is designed as two case studies of the SVT production facilities in Malmö and Örebro. The empirical material consists mainly of personal interviews. Written documents and observations have also been used. The case studies took place between 2002 and 2004. Some main conclusions are as follows: 1) Internal communication is central for how members of an organization make sense of, and participate in, major change. Yet, not even in ideal communication situations do the employees experience that the information has been sufficient and that they have been included in the change process. There are thus reasons for more balanced expectations of what is possible to achieve with internal communication during strategic change. 2) The most influential factor determining how people make sense of change-related communication is the practical everyday reality that constitutes their frames of reference. The reluctance to consider, and act upon, how other individuals conceive of a si
