RESUMO: Este artigo analisa como a mulher é semiotizada no filme O sorriso de Mona Lisa (2003), com o objetivo de pensar sobre como o embate entre tradição e revolução reflete e refrata valores sociais sobre o que significa ser mulher. Centrado nas protagonistas, este estudo se volta às vozes sociais tradicional e subversiva em embate. A relevância se justifica pela reflexão acerca da movimentação valorativa interna-externa que constitui os sujeitos-mulheres e as sociedades no grande tempo da cultura. O filme é analisado em sua unidade verbivocovisual. A fundamentação teórica bakhtiniana embasa a análise em seu movimento metodológico materialista histórico-dialético- dialógico, com a utilização, principalmente, dos conceitos de diálogo, ideologia e vozes sociais. Para analisar questões relativas ao feminismo, serão utilizados os estudos de Beauvoir, Saffioti, Davis, Studart, hooks e Ribeiro. Os resultados revelam como a pressão social sobre a mulher a afeta e impacta a sociedade. O sorriso de Mona Lisa semiotiza movimentos históricos e culturais em ressurgência na contemporaneidade, e é urgente refletir sobre isso. ABSTRACT: This article analyses how the woman is semiotized in the movie Mona Lisa Smile (2003), aiming to think about how the conflict between tradition and revolution reflects and refracts social values of what it means to be a woman. Centered on the protagonists, this study focuses on traditional and subversive social voices in conflict. The reflection on the internal-external valuation movement that constitutes subjects-women and societies in the great time of culture justifies its relevance. It analyzes the film in its verbivocovisual unity. The Bakhtinian theoretical foundation supports the analysis in its dialectical-dialogical-historical materialist methodological movement, using mainly the concepts of dialogue, ideology, and social voices. To analyze issues related to feminism, studies from Beauvoir, Saffioti, Davis, Studart, hooks, and Ribeiro will be used. The results reveal how the social pressure on women affects them and impacts society. Mona Lisa Smile semiotizes historical and cultural movements in resurgence in the contemporaneity and reflecting on this is urgent.

Desde a sua criação, o slam possui características de uma cultura que o antecede: a cultura hip-hop. Neste trabalho, entendemos que o Poetry Slam e todos os seus desdobramentos integram essa cultura e as batalhas, em especial, relacionam-se diretamente com o fruto de um de seus elementos: as letras de rap escritas pelos MCs. Consideramos que tanto o Poetry Slam quanto a cultura hip-hop constituem um movimento que abre espaço para que sujeitos que vivem à margem tenham suas vozes ouvidas e não silenciadas. Não nos ateremos ao slam enquanto movimento porque nos interessa, nesse momento, discorrer sobre uma parte dele, que são as batalhas de poesia falada, em especial os vídeos postados na internet. Desde a chegada do slam no Brasil, têm-se formado grupos, autodenominados “comunidades”, que organizam e realizam essas batalhas mensalmente. Tornaram-se comuns nas batalhas as filmagens de vídeos de poetas declamando os poemas, com sua posterior divulgação em redes sociais e em plataformas digitais. Considerando o interesse crescente pelo slam e a sua relação com os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS), apoiados pela Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU), devido aos seus recorrentes temas acerca das desigualdades sociais, esta pesquisa toma por objetivo examiná-lo e, para tanto, analisa quatro vídeos postados no canal do Slam da Guilhermina, no YouTube. A escolha pelo YouTube se deu devido à facilidade do acesso nessa plataforma e a escolha pelo Slam da Guilhermina por se tratar da primeira comunidade de slam a acontecer na rua e da segunda comunidade a ser criada no país. Os vídeos são os quatro mais visualizados do canal. O nosso objetivo principal é, com o recorte desses vídeos, examinar o Poetry Slam, analisando os valores sociais que são afirmados e negados, depreendendo, enfim, o embate de vozes nesses excertos de batalha. Fundamentamos nossa pesquisa no quadro teórico-metodológico dos estudos bakhtinianos. Nesse sentido, tomamos os vídeos como enunciados concretos e, desse modo, esse conceito, junto à relação dialógica entre eu-outro e ao conceito de cronotopo, representam o cerne teórico da nossa discussão. Os resultados apontam que há nos vídeos certa regularidade temática, visto que as desigualdades sociais, especificamente feminismo e racismo, são temas que os constituem, além de o “eu” nos vídeos ora defender valores que visam ao grupo, ora defender valores pessoais. O trabalho detalha os modos como esses valores são apresentados nas batalhas, sempre “encarnados” pelo sujeito que toma a palavra. O eu-poeta se endereça ora ao que chamaremos de “seus” ora a um outro que se opõe. Essas vozes sociais que constituem as batalhas, em meio ao levante de vozes que tem sido o slam, têm rompido com o silêncio imposto pelos grupos antagônicos que sempre estiveram no poder e, apesar deles, o Poetry Slam continuará (re)existindo. Poetry Slam, or just slam, are spoken poetry battles that emerged in Chicago in the 1980s and arrived in Brazil in 2008 through "atriz-MC" Roberta Estrela D’Alva. Since its inception, slam has had characteristics of a culture that precedes it: hip-hop culture. In this work, we understand that the Poetry Slam and all its ramifications are part of this culture and the battles, in particular, are directly related to the fruit of one of its elements: the rap lyrics written by the MCs. We consider that both Poetry Slam and hip-hop culture constitute a movement that opens space for subjects who live on the margins to have their voices heard and not silenced. We will not stick to the slam as a movement because we are interested, at this moment, in discussing a part of it, which are the spoken poetry battles, especially the videos posted on the internet. Since the arrival of the slam in Brazil, groups have been formed, called “communities”, that organize and carry out these battles monthly. Video footage of poets reciting the poems became common in battles, with their subsequent dissemination on social networks and digital platforms. Considering the growing interest in slam and its relationship with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) supported by the United Nations (UN), due to its recurring themes about social inequalities, this research aims to examine it and, therefore, analyzes four videos posted on the channel "Slam da Guilhermina" on YouTube. The choice for YouTube was due to the ease of access on this platform, and the choice for "Slam da Guilhermina" because it is the first slam community to take place on the street and the second community to be created in the country. The videos are the four most viewed on the channel. Our main objective is, with the clipping of these videos, to examine the Poetry Slam, analyzing the social values that are affirmed and denied, inferring, finally, the clash of voices in these battle excerpts. We approach our research on the theoretical-methodological framework of bakhtinian studies. In this sense, we take the videos as concrete statements and, in this way, this concept, together with the dialogic relationship between self-other and the concept of chronotope, represent the theoretical core of our discussion. The results show that there is a certain thematic regularity in the videos, since social inequalities, specifically feminism and racism, are themes that constitute them, in addition to the “I” in the videos sometimes defending values aimed at the group, sometimes defending personal values. The work details how these values are presented in battles, always “incarnated” by the subject who takes the floor. The poet-self sometimes addresses what we will call “his” and sometimes another who opposes himself. These social voices that constitute the battles, during the uprising of voices that has been the slam, have broken with the silence imposed by the antagonistic groups that have always been in power and despite them, Poetry Slam will continue to (re)exist. 132918/2020-0

No mundo contemporâneo, o cinema se tornou uma indústria bilionária, que produz enunciados artísticos que representam as mais diversas vozes sociais e ideologias: tanto a hegemonia, vinda da superestrutura, quanto a subversiva vinda da base. Esta dissertação visa analisar como enunciados fílmicos de cunho feminista (mesmo que menos populares por conta de seu caráter revolucionário) representam mulheres em uma jornada de engajamento político, se tornando participantes ativas de lutas pelos direitos das mulheres, em jornadas emancipatórias, e suas valorações dentro de seus respectivos mundos. As obras escolhidas para o corpus são Revolução em Dagenham (2010), As Sufragistas (2015) e Mulheres divinas (2017). A análise dialética-dialógica (PAULA; FIGUEIREDO, 2011) será embasada nos estudos do Círculo de Bakhtin, principalmente nos conceitos de enunciado, dialogia, signo ideológico, e forças centrípetas e centrífugas, e considerará os filmes como enunciados verbivocovisuais (PAULA, 2017), em diálogo com outros enunciados e com o mundo. Os estudos de Beauvoir (2019a e 2019b) e Saffioti (1987 e 2015) serão usados como fundamentação para aspectos sobre feminismo, sendo enriquecidos por Davis (2016) e hooks (2020). A partir das análises, obteve-se como resultado a compreensão mais aprofundada da urgência de apresentar na mídia a mulher políticamente engajada com valoração positiva, assim como reforçar a importância da participação de todos no movimento feminista, não somente mulheres, já que este sistema discriminatório oprime mulheres e ainda traz consequências negativas para todos, além de realçar que uma verdadeira mudança sistemática só é conquistada quando a maioria (se não todos) os sujeitos se envolvem na busca por justiça e igualdade social. As the artistic object is a representation of the values of the world presented from the axiological place of the author who experiences them, we have in the work of art the reflection and refraction of the ideologies that constitute society and subjects. In the contemporary world, cinema has become a billion dollar industry, which produces artistic statements that represent the most diverse social voices and ideologies: both the hegemony, of the superstructure, and the subversive of the base. This dissertation aims to analyze how feminist film (even if less popular due to their revolutionary character) represent women in a journey to become politically engaged, active participants in fights for women's rights, in their emancipatory journeys, and how they are valued within their worlds. The pieces chosen for the corpus are Made in Dagenham (2010), Suffragette (2015) and The Divine Order (2017). The dialectical-dialogical (PAULA; FIGUEIREDO, 2011) analysis will be based on studies by the Bakhtin Circle, mainly on the concepts of utterance, dialogy, ideological sign, and centripetal and centrifugal forces, and will consider the films as verbivocovisual (PAULA, 2017) utterances, in dialogue with other utterances and with the world. Studies by Beauvoir (2019a and 2019b) and Saffioti (1987 and 2015) will be used as a foundation for aspects of feminism, being enriched by Davis (2016) and hooks (2020). From the analyses, the result achieved was a deeper understanding of the urgency of presenting politically engaged women in the media with positive valuation, as well as reinforcing the importance of the participation of everyone in the feminist movement, not only women, since this discriminatory system oppresses women and still has negative consequences for everyone, in addition to highlighting that true systematic change is only achieved when most (if not all) subjects get involved in the search for justice and social equality 133861/2020-1

– In the Elizabethan period, historical plays were a very popular form of representation in English theatres. Shakespeare wrote several historical plays and seven of them are based on the history of England and, in particular, on the lives of some English kings who lived between 1377 and 1485. Of particular interest for the present analysis, particularly from a linguistic perspective, are two of his last plays, Henry IV and Henry V, which can be interpreted according to the Bakhtian notion of ‘heteroglossia’ (1981). The different social voices, linguistic registers, as well as the different and contrasting emotions which are revealed in the alternating dialogues and monologues, constitute the main feature of the historical reconstruction carried out by Shakespeare. These strategies allow the author to create a new and original perspective on the narrated events. Nowadays, the daily reconstruction of historical events is carried out by newspapers, which select national and international events turning them into ‘news’. The analysis described in this chapter aims to identify whether and how heteroglossia is at the basis of contemporary historical reconstructions, as in Shakespeare’s plays, and if these accounts are influenced by a change of perspective due to the cultural context in which they are produced. With this in mind, two corpora of British and Italian newspaper articles (from The Independent, The Guardian, Il Corriere della Sera, and La Repubblica) have been assembled. The most frequent linguistic elements have been analysed, along with their grammatical categories and the semantic fields that they can be grouped into. Results suggest that news language is a socially and culturally connotated event which, through different social voices, is able to create a multiplicity of social perspectives, thus revealing many similarities with the way Shakespeare used heteroglossia to describe historical events.

Machado de Assis introduces us, in Memórias Póstumas de Brás Cubas (2012), Virgília that through dissimulation maintains a double life. Marçal Aquino, in Eu receberia as piores notícias dos seus lindos lábios, features a protagonist Lavínia, which by means of psycho-emotional instability also maintains a double life. Conhecer o comportamento humano e as sociedades por meio do texto literário, sem perder seu caráter artístico, torna-se uma pesquisa possível ao considerar que cada romance traz várias vozes sociais que revelam o pensamento ou a ideologia de uma época, de acordo com Mikhail Bakhtin. Será analisado no presente trabalho de que modo as sociedades oitocentista e contemporânea reagem diante de mulheres que vivem uma vida dupla. Cet article explore les manifestations du dialogisme, au plus bas niveau de l’énonciation, dans les marqueurs sociophonétiques de la voix. Différents cas de mimésis vocale relevés dans la littérature scientifique sont analysés à la lumière du phénomène bakhtinien de « dialogisation intérieure ». L’imitation à ressort comique, la convergence vocale observée en interaction, l’alternance phonétique des jeunes de banlieue, l’emprunt par les femmes d’une voix enfantine et/ou maternelle et la réalisation de tel ou tel trait phonétique pour l’expression d’une certaine identité (sociale, culturelle géographique et/ou de genre) sont autant d’exemples qui mettent en évidence différentes facettes d’un dialogue interne avec de l’altérité vocale. L’hybridation des voix relève ainsi du dialogisme, qui sans être restreint au seul discours rapporté, est constitutif de toute parole laquelle ne se construit que par et avec de l’Autre. Les reprises de certaines caractéristiques phoniques autres à des fins de marquage identitaire apparaissent également comme des formes d’emprunt de tonalités vocales localisables comme Autres au sein de l’énoncé (dialogisme interdiscursif) et émises pour être entendues et reconnues par les colocuteurs (dialogisme interlocutif). This paper tackles the question of the markers of dialogism at the lowest level of speech, i.e., that of phonetics. Several cases of vocal mimesis found in the scientific literature are interpreted here in the light of Bakhtin’s ‘internal dialogical process’. Satirical vocal mimicry, phonetic convergence in interaction, variations of speech as functions of geographic/ social background or for the expression of one’s identity and/or hierarchical position account for many intentional vocal modifications and testify the presence of the Other (s) in one’s own voice. Thus, vocal hybridisation is a matter for dialogism which is not restricted to reported speech but can be considered as constituent of any oral production, the latter being constructed by and with the Other (s). The reusing of some specific vocal markers for the expression of one’s identity can be regarded as “vocal loans” (i.e. interdiscursive dialogism) which share echo sounds like the quoted individual and/or social figure (i. e. interlocutive dialogism).

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2020-07-01 This article aims to analyze the cover and an article from the magazine O Diabo a Quatro, from 1879, as an answer to movements that fought for the inclusion of women in politics, in comparison with the article Bela, recatada e 'do lar', from the magazine Veja, from 2016; and with statements from members (officials or not) from Bolsonaro's government (Damares Alves, minister of Women, Family and Human Rights; and Italo Marsili, doctor suggested to be minister of Health) about women, her rights and duties. The theoretical-methodological foundation is based on the concepts of ideology, dialogue and social voices from Balchtinian studies. The results reveal how much, at any time, if, on the one hand, the feminist movements act with full force, on the other, with the same strength, traditional movements that reproduce conservative values answer actively. Reflecting about this clash of social forces is the relevance of this text.
