Background: Endometriosis is a widespread problem that has devastating effects on women reproductive health, causing chronic pelvic pain and correlated with significantly negative impacts on sexual life quality. Improving pain coping strategies have a substantial influence on chronic pelvic pain management through continuous care model. Aim: To evaluate the effect of continuous care model on pain coping strategies and sexual quality of life among women with endometriosis related chronic pelvic pain. Design: In order to accomplish the aim of this research, a quasi-experimental research design, specifically a one-group time series design, was implemented. Setting: The study was carried out at the Obstetrics & Gynecological Outpatient Clinic within the Qaliobya governorate of Egypt, which is affiliated with Benha University Hospitals. Sample: 76 women who were medically diagnosed with chronic pelvic pain associated with endometriosis were selected as a purposive sample. Tools: A structured self-administered questionnaire, numerical rating scale, coping strategies questionnaire and the sexual quality of life-female questionnaire. Results: At the pre-intervention, one-month, and three-month post-intervention stages, there was a highly significant difference in the pain coping techniques, pain severity, and sexual life quality of the women who were evaluated. Conclusion: The continuous care model application was effective in reducing pelvic pain severity. This was accomplished by improving pain coping strategies, which resulted in an improvement in the sexual quality of life for women who experienced chronic pelvic pain associated with endometriosis. The results supported the research hypotheses. Background: Premature ejaculation is the most common sexual problem that has many psychological effects on the relationship between spouses. Therefore, it will be helpful to identify targeted and effective intervention programs in this field. So far, various methods have been used to increase sexual quality of life in men with premature ejaculation, However, there is a research gap regarding the comparison of the effectiveness of the mindfulness therapy, biofeedback and combined method on sexual quality of life in men with premature ejaculation. Aims: The present study aimed the effectiveness of mindfulness therapy, biofeedback and combined method on sexual quality of life in men with premature ejaculation. Methods: The research method was semi-experimental, pre-test, post-test with a control group. The studied population included all men 30 to 50 years with premature ejaculation who referred to the Nejat sexual disorders clinic in Tehran in 2022. Among them, 32 men with premature ejaculation were selected based on the inclusion criteria and by purposive sampling method. Then, they randomly assigned to experimentals and control groups (groups of 8 people each). The Sexual Quality of Life- Men (Abraham et al, 2008) was used to pre-test, post-test. The first experimental group received mindfulness intervention in eight 90-minute sessions, the second experimental group received biofeedback intervention in eight 20-minute sessions, and the third experimental group received the combined method (The combination of mindfulness and biofeedback) in eight 90-minute sessions; While the control group was on the waiting list. The data were analyzed using one-way ANCOVA and LSD post hoc test in SPSS23. Results: No statistically significant differences were observed in the demographic variable of the groups. The findings showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental groups and control group; all three mindfulness therapy, biofeedback and combined method therapy interventions increased sexual quality of life (F= 193.37) in men with premature ejaculation (P< 0.05). Also, the results of LSD post hoc test showed that the effectiveness of combined method on sexual quality of life (IJ= 12.27) was more than mindfulness therapy and biofeedback (P< 0.05). Conclusion: According to the results of the present study, the of mindfulness therapy, biofeedback and combined method interventions can increase the sexual quality of life of men with premature ejaculation. It is suggested that therapists and counselors use these treatments in order to improve the sexual quality of life of men with premature ejaculation along with other therapeutic interventions

Abstract Objective The aim of the study was to determine the effect of WhatsApp-based BETTER sex counselling on sexual function and sexual quality of life in breast cancer survivors in a randomized control trial. Methods This is a randomized controlled trial in which a total of 90 breast cancer survivors were recruited using convenience sampling and then randomly assigned to two groups of WhatsApp-based BETTER model counselling and routine care. Data collection tools consisted of a demographic questionnaire, the Sexual Quality of Life-Female (SQOL-F) and the Sexual Function Index (FSFI-BC). Participants in the intervention group were given access to the 6-week program. The program consisted of six consultation and assignment packages covering all six steps of the BETTER model. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 20. Chi-square test, independent samples t-test and repeated measures analysis of variance were used. The significance level (p-value) was considered to be less than 0.05. Results In the control group, the mean score of SQL scale changed from 35.16 ± 10.71 to 35.16 ± 12.97 (P > 0.05) and in the intervention group, it significantly increased from 34.76 ± 10.13 to 68.20 ± 20.48 (P 0.05), and in the intervention group, it significantly improved from 59.49 ± 6.10 to 120.73 ± 25.54 (P

Objective Methods Results Conclusion Dyspareunia can severely impact the quality of life of patients with endometriosis. This symptom is often linked to a specific form of deep infiltrating endometriosis, such as rectovaginal septum endometriosis. Despite the radicality of surgery, persistence and recurrence of symptoms post‐surgery are not uncommon. The aim of the present study was to determine whether adenomyosis contributes to the failure of surgical interventions for dyspareunia in these patients.A retrospective single‐cohort study was conducted at the at tertiary care gynecologic center of the University Federico II of Naples, using medical records from January 2020 to July 2023. The study included patients who underwent surgery for dyspareunia associated with rectovaginal endometriosis and had a definitive histologic diagnosis. Pain and sexual quality of life were assessed using the visual analog scale (VAS) and the sexual quality of life‐female (SQoL‐F) questionnaire, both before and 6 months after surgery. Patients with isolated rectovaginal endometriosis were compared to those with concurrent adenomyosis.A total of 94 patients were included: thirty‐five in group A (endometriosis with adenomyosis) and 59 in group B (isolated rectovaginal endometriosis). Histology confirmed deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) in all patients. Clinical characteristics such as age, BMI, abnormal uterine bleeding, and infertility, showed no significant differences between the groups. Multiparity was more common in group A (20%) compared to group B (5.1%) (P < 0.001). Pain VAS scores decreased significantly in both groups: from 7.11 to 5.40 in group A and from 7.34 to 3.31 in group B (both P < 0.001). Sexual quality of life (SQoL) scores improved significantly: from 42 to 57 in group A and from 41 to 66 in group B (both P < 0.001). Patients in group B showed a more significant improvement. Adjusted linear regression showed no significant association between parity and the severity of dyspareunia or sexual quality of life.Adenomyosis appears to reduce the effectiveness of surgical treatment for dyspareunia in patients with rectovaginal septum endometriosis. Comprehensive preoperative screening for adenomyosis is recommended to improve surgical outcomes and provide appropriate counseling. Background/Objectives: Multiple sclerosis (MS) frequently results in both urinary and sexual dysfunction, which significantly impairs quality of life. Conventional treatments for bladder dysfunction often prove insufficient, leading to the exploration of alternative therapies such as percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS). This study aimed to assess the impact of PTNS on sexual function and bladder symptoms in female MS patients with neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO) and female sexual dysfunction (FSD). Methods: A total of 65 female MS patients with NDO were evaluated and underwent 12 weeks of standardized PTNS treatment. Sexual function was assessed using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and the Female Sexual Distress Scale-Revised (FSDS-R), while bladder symptoms were evaluated using the OAB-v8 questionnaire. Participants were grouped based on the presence of sexual dysfunction and distress and compared to a control group of 20 patients who declined PTNS. Results: Significant improvements were observed in FSFI scores across multiple domains (desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, and pain) in the treatment groups (p < 0.05). Additionally, 58.46% of patients showed positive responses to PTNS regarding overactive bladder symptoms (OAB-v8 score), while the control group showed no significant changes. Conclusions: PTNS appears to be an effective therapeutic option for improving sexual function and urinary symptoms in female MS patients with NDO and FSD, offering a promising non-invasive alternative for managing these conditions. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the tendency among women to undergo breast reconstruction after mastectomy and the quality of sexual life and social appearance anxiety. This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted in 138 patients who underwent mastectomy at the general surgery and oncology department at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Dursun Odabaşı Medical Centebetween May 2019 and July 2020. Data were collected using the "personal information form," the " tendency to breast reconstruction after mastectomy scale (TBRAMS)," the "sexual quality of life -female (SQOL-F) scale," and the "social appearance anxiety scale (SAAS)." The mean scores on the TBRAMS, SQOL-F scale, and SAAS were 27.19 ± 2.68, 64.48 ± 9.26, and 46.10 ± 12.22, respectively. The results showed that the mean TBRAMS, SQOL-F, and SAAS scores of the patients were at a moderate level, and a negative relationship was observed between the mean TBRAMS score and the SQOL-F scale and SAAS scores. Sexual health and sexual quality of life are key components of psychosocial adjustment after cardiac surgeries and are often linked with improving the general quality of life. Reviews have been conducted to highlight the associations between cardiovascular diseases and sexual dysfunctions, but no review reported determinants of sexual health and sexual quality of life in patients after cardiovascular surgeries. We aimed to comprehensively examine the determinants of sexual health and sexual quality of life among individuals with cardiovascular surgeries. Literature was searched within PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, Web of Science, and OVID databases. In total, 816 records were identified from database searches, 279 records were screened, and 11 empirical studies were included for review. Relevant data were extracted using literature summary tables and synthesised using an inductive approach. The core determinants of sexual health and sexual quality of life were type of surgery and comorbidities, fears and uncertainties regarding sexual activity, sexual health education and counselling, spousal relationship and communication, and demographic factors such as advanced age and literacy levels. Major surgeries performed were coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and heart valve surgeries. The data collection tools used to collect data for sexual health and sexual quality of life were the International Erectile Function Questionnaire (IEFQ), International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF), Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), S exual Knowledge CABG Scale (SKS-CABG), Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire (SQOL), SKS-Myocardial Infarction Scale (SKS-MI), and Couple Communication Scale (CCS). Despite their importance, sexual health and quality of life are frequently overlooked during patient rehabilitation after cardiovascular surgeries. The lack of adequate education and counselling from healthcare professionals frequently leads to increased fear and uncertainties among individuals and their partners. Sexual dysfunction is a common and significant issue for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), adversely affecting their overall quality of life. Proper sexual counseling can be beneficial for these women. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a counseling intervention based on the PLISSIT model on family functioning and sexual quality of life in women with MS. This interventional study was conducted in 2020 at the largest center for special diseases in southeast Iran. Sixty women with MS were selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to either an intervention group or a control group. The intervention group participated in four 90-minute individual counseling sessions based on the PLISSIT model over four weeks, while the control group received routine training. Data were collected using a demographic information form and questionnaires on family functioning and sexual quality of life, both before and after the intervention. Results showed no significant differences between the two groups in terms of family functioning and sexual quality of life scores before the intervention (p > 0.05). However, after the intervention, the intervention group exhibited significant improvements in both family functioning and sexual quality of life scores (P < 0.0001). Specifically, there was a notable increase in the mean scores for family functioning and sexual quality of life in the intervention group post-intervention (P = 0.001 and P = 0.0001, respectively). In contrast, the control group showed no significant change in family functioning (P = 0.79) and a significant decrease in sexual quality of life (P = 0.014) during the second assessment. The results of rANOVA indicated that there was a significant difference in the mean scores of the SQL and SFS between the two groups from pre- to post-intervention, and then over the 1-month follow-up period in the intervention group (p < 0.001). Considering partial eta squared, the effect of the intervention had the highest interaction effect on both variables of the sexual function index (η2 = 0.73) and sexual quality of life (η2 = 0.41). Conclusions: The intervention program was a successful model for improving female sexual quality of life and female sexual function in breast cancer survivors. The present study investigated the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on sexual function and quality of life in Iranian couples. The current research is cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytical. The sample consisted of 315 married couples who participated in this study. Data on couples' SQoL were collected using the men (GRISS-M) and women (GRISS-F) version of the Golombok Rust Inventory of sexual satisfaction. The SD was obtained via the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF). The prevalence of SD and ED in the infected women and men was 35.93 and 21.95%, respectively. The mean SQoL and SQoL-P were for the infected men and their partners was 42.17 ± 13.78 and 50.81 ± 11.26 respectively. The mean SQoL and SQoL-P were for the infected women and their partners were 52.82 ± 12.51 and 63.17 ± 14.18 respectively. Although there was no significant difference between infected participants with and without SD in terms of mean SQoL score, it is essential that health providers do not lose sight of the imperative to provide couples with access to sexual health. A cross-sectional study aimed to determine the sexual function and sexual quality of life in Iranian couples. In general, the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in infected women was significantly higher than in infected men. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the impact of vNOTES on postoperative sexual dysfunction in patients undergoing adnexal procedures. Methods: We analyzed data from patients who underwent vNOTES adnexal surgeries for benign conditions between May 2020 and May 2023. The primary outcome was the presence of new postoperative deep dyspareunia (DD) or other sexual dysfunctions, which were assessed through a phone survey conducted 6 to 24 months after surgery. Secondary outcomes included surgical feasibility, operative times, complications rate, and postoperative pain evaluation. Results: We included 103 patients for primary and secondary outcomes and 111 patients for secondary outcomes analysis only. Newly postoperative DD was reported by three patients (2.9%), remained present at 12 postoperative months in one case (1.0%), and spontaneously disappeared in two cases (1.9%) after four and 10 postoperative months, respectively. In the remaining 100 patients (97.1%), no new DD or other sexual function disorders were reported after surgery. vNOTES procedures were successfully performed in all cases, with a mean operative time of 38.2 ± 19.6 min and a conversion rate to conventional laparoscopy of 0.9%. No significant complication was observed. Conclusion: This study suggests a very limited risk of developing postoperative sexual dysfunction after vNOTES benign adnexal procedures. Background Patients who undergo treatment for hematologic malignancies may experience a decline in sexual health, alterations in sexual functioning, and reproductive capacity during survivorship. Aim This study investigated the prevalence of sexual dysfunction and factors influencing sexual activity and functioning in patients with hematologic malignancies, to identify potential targets for interventions in clinical practice. Methods This nationwide cross-sectional study included adult patients diagnosed with a hematologic malignant disease in Denmark in the period from January 20, 2013, to August 20, 2022. Eligible participants received electronic questionnaires through their officially assigned digital mailbox. Outcomes Outcomes included the Female Sexual Function Index, International Index of Erectile Function, Female Sexual Distress Scale–Revised, European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire–Sexual Health, and European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire. Results A total of 362 patients, on average 5.7 ± 3.4 years postdiagnosis, completed the questionnaires. Of these, 52.5% women and 73.2% men reported sexual dysfunction, with more women (40.9%) than men (34.1%) being sexually inactive. Across gender, this was significantly more prevalent in patients >65 years of age and in those with a low quality of life. In addition, for women a significant association with fatigue and sleep difficulties was observed. In total, 40.3% reported sexual-related personal distress, with the highest proportion among patients 40 to 65 years of age. Most patients (98.7%) with sexual dysfunction had not discussed sexual issues with their healthcare professional. Clinical implications It is hoped that knowledge from this study will help healthcare professionals in clinical practice and encourage them to proactively address and discuss sexual health issues with their patients, irrespective of age. Strengths and Limitations Sexually inactive participants may reduce the overall score of sexual function in the scoring of both the Female Sexual Function Index and International Index of Erectile Function. We therefore analyzed sexual function in a subgroup analysis in only those being sexually active to emphasize that level of dysfunction persists in sexually active participants. It is obvious that current tools in literature that are used to measure female's sexual quality of life focus only on the objective dimension of sexual function, failing to examine quality of life on a multidimensional level. The aim of this research is to examine the validity and reliability of the ADORE for Turkish society. In the methodological research, 500 females were included. The research data was collected with "Descriptive Information Form" "ADORE" and "Sexual Quality of Life-Female (SQOL-F)." ADORE is a five-Likert-type type and 36-item scale that was developed to assess female's sexual quality of life. It has six sub-dimensions. It is stated that ADORE can better evaluate female's sexual quality of life holistically and contextually. The validity of ADORE was analyzed as linguistic, content, and construct validities. In determining the reliability of the scale, item-total score correlation, Cronbach alpha (Cr α) coefficient, Pearson correlation, split-half analysis, test–retest, and parallel form were used. Content validity index was found to be 0.90. The confirmatory factor analysis was performed for construct validity. ADORE's Cr α reliability coefficient was determined to be.95. According to ADORE test–retest analyses, it was found that there is a positively strong and statistically high significant correlation among scores of the scale. It was determined that there is an acceptable correlation between ADORE and SQOL-F. In determining female's sexual quality of life in Turkish society, ADORE is a valid and reliable scale. The present study was carried out to determine the predictors of women's sexual quality of life during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 536 married women participated in a cross-sectional study utilizing convenience online sampling. Data were collected using a battery of psychometric scales and analyzed using stepwise multivariable linear regression. There was no significant difference in the female sexual quality of life based on COVID-19 infectious status (p = 0.92). Having independent living conditions (β = 0.49), less psychological distress (β = –0.42), higher frequency of monthly sexual intercourse (β = 0.20), and less sexual distress (β = –0.14) were significant predictors of good sexual quality of life among females. The findings indicate that reducing psychological and sexual distress would likely improve women's sexual quality of life. Introduction: Sexual function of patients with endometriosis should be assessed by patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) that present high reliability and validity. The objective was to study the PROMs used to assess sexual function for patients with endometriosis to improve their selection for research and clinical practice. Material and methods: We performed a systematic literature review from January 2000 to September 2023. All studies including women with confirmed endometriosis and assessing sexual quality of life or sexual function or sexual distress were retrieved. Different properties of PROMs used for sexual dysfunction were assessed according to the COnsensus‐based Standards for the selection of health Measurement Instruments (COSMIN) recommendations. Properties evaluated were: structural validity, internal consistency, cross‐cultural validity, reliability, measurement error, criterion validity, construct validity, and responsiveness. This literature review was registered on Prospero as 2018 CRD42018102278. Results: Seventy‐four articles with evaluation of sexual function were included. Of the 25 PROMs assessing sexual function, the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) was the most frequently used (34/74 [45.9%] items), followed by the Female Sexual Distress Scale (9/74 [12.2%] items) and the Sexual Activity Questionnaire (SAQ) (8/74 [10.8%] items). The most commonly used measurement properties were "hypothesis testing" and "responsiveness". The PROMs with a high level of evidence for these two measurement properties were the FSFI, the SAQ, the Short Sexual Functioning Scale, the Sexual Satisfaction Scale for Women, Sexual Quality of Life‐Female, the Brief Profile of Female Sexual Function, and the Sexual Health Outcomes in Women Questionnaire. The FSFI questionnaire appeared to be more relevant for evaluating medical treatment, and the SAQ for evaluating surgical treatment. Only one instrument was specific to endometriosis (the Subjective Impact of Dyspareunia Inventory [SIDI]). Conclusions: In this systematic literature review of sexual function assessment questionnaires in endometriosis, the FSFI and the SAQ questionnaires emerged as having the best measurement properties according to the COSMIN criteria. The FSFI questionnaire appears to be suited for evaluating medical treatment, and the SAQ for surgical treatment. Abstract Introduction Cardiovascular diseases are a common chronic illness in adults, with implications for health and psychological well-being. These implications not only affect the patients themselves but also impact family members, especially the spouses of patients. One significant issue and consequence of this disease is its impact on marital relationships and sexual satisfaction, which can also influence other dimensions of quality of life. The aim of the current study is to determine the effect of couple counseling based on the CHARMS model on sexual quality of life and marital satisfaction of wives of men suffering from myocardial infarction. Method This study is a clinical randomized controlled trial. Sampling will be done on a convenience basis. Participants will be randomly allocated into two groups: control (50 couples) and intervention (50 couples). Couples in 6 groups of 8 members each will attend counseling sessions based con the CHARMS model, with sessions held weekly and lasting for 60 min. Data collection tools will include Demographic information questionnaire, Women’s Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire, Enrich Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire, Sexual Compatibility Questionnaire and Perceived Quality of Relationship Dimensions Questionnaire, which will be completed by women in both groups before and after the intervention. Data will be analyzed using appropriate statistical tests and SPSS software. Discussion This trial will evaluate whether a counseling intervention based on the CHARMS model can enhance sexual quality of life and marital satisfaction of wives of men with myocardial infarction in Urmia city. Introduction. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease of the central nervous system, resulting from immune system dysfunction and characterized by demyelination and neurodegeneration. An essential aspect of therapy, besides improving overall quality of life, is also the quality of sexual life of patients with multiple sclerosis. Aim. The aim of this study was to assess the quality of sexual life of female patients with multiple sclerosis. Material and Methods. The study was conducted among 100 female patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the Neurology Department. Research tools included a questionnaire regarding patients’ demographic and clinical data, as well as the Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire — Female (SQoL-F). Results. The level of sexual quality of life among female patients with multiple sclerosis in the neurology department was associated with the following domains: psychosexual feelings, sexual satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, worthlessness, and sexual repression. 44% of women rated their relationship with their partner as poor. Sexual activity was rated as poor in 43% of cases, and 32% experienced a deterioration in their sexual life before and after the onset of multiple sclerosis. Factors such as demographic characteristics (place of residence, employment status, marital status) and clinical factors (obesity and diabetes) influenced the assessment of sexual quality of life. Conclusions. The mean score for quality of life in the SQoL-F questionnaire was 69.02 with a standard deviation of SD=25.86 and a median of Me=75. Background: Breast cancer treatments may have impacts on several aspects of sexual health, including psychological, psychosexual, physiological, physical, and relational. Aim: In this study we sought to assess sexual function and sexual frequency in breast cancer patients 2 years after diagnosis. Methods: We selected all breast cancer participants from the the French national VIe après le CANcer 2 (VICAN 2) longitudinal study. Data sources included patient and medical questionnaires, along with medico-administrative databases. Outcomes: Outcomes assessed were the dimensions of sexual function and frequency from the Relationship and Sexuality Scale and communication about sexuality with healthcare providers. Results: Out of 1350 participating women, 60.2% experienced a decrease in sexual desire, 61.4% reported a lower frequency of intercourse, and 49.5% faced decreased ability to orgasm. In contrast, 64.8% had engaged in sexual intercourse in the previous 2 weeks, 89.5% were "Somewhat" to "Very much" satisfied with the frequency of intimate touching and kisses with their partner, and 81.6% expressed satisfaction with their intercourse frequency. However, a mere 15% of women discussed sexuality with the healthcare providers. Independent factors associated with increased communication about sexuality included age younger than 50 years (OR = 1.90 95% CI [1.28–2.82], P = .001), being in a partner relationship (OR = 2.53 95% CI [1.28–2.82], P = .003), monthly income above 1,500 euros (OR = 1.73 95% CI [1.15–2.60], P = .009), and absence of diabetes (OR = 6.11 95% CI [1.39–26.93], P = .017). Clinical Translation: The study findings underscore the need for continuing education in oncosexology and dedicated sexual health interventions that should involve a holistic approach that takes into consideration age, treatments, relationship status, and whether the patient has diabetes. Strengths and Limitations: Strengths of the study are the sample size, the national representativeness, and data reliability. However, the cross-sectional design could introduce potential recall, recency, or social desirability biases. Also, social determinants influencing sexual health, such as ethnicity or geographic locations, have not been considered in the analyses. Conclusions: This study revealed that sexual disorders persist 2 years after a breast cancer diagnosis, with a noticeable communication gap regarding sexuality between patients and medical teams. Background: Patients with an intestinal ostomy may experience significant sexual dysfunction that may have adverse impacts on quality of life. Appropriate sexual health counseling can be beneficial for these patients. Aim: This study was conducted to determine the effect of sexual counseling on the sexual function and sexual quality of life of women with a permanent intestinal ostomy. Methods: For this experimental study, 60 female patients with a permanent intestinal ostomy were selected through convenience sampling and then randomly assigned to either the intervention or control groups. Patients in the intervention group received four 90-minute individual counseling sessions based on the PLISSIT (permission [P], limited information [LI], specific suggestions [SS], and intensive therapy [IT] model over a period of 4 weeks). The control group underwent routine training. Data were collected by use of a demographic information questionnaire, the Female Sexual Function Index, and the Sexual Quality of Life Female questionnaire. Both groups completed the questionnaires before and after the intervention. Outcomes: Study outcomes were the resulting data for the Female Sexual Function Index and the Sexual Quality of Life Female questionnaire. Results: The results revealed a significant increase in the mean score of sexual function in the intervention group after counseling (P = .001). No significant difference was observed in the mean score of sexual quality of life between the 2 groups before the intervention (P > .05). In contrast, a significant increase was noted in the intervention group's sexual quality of life after the intervention (P = .001). Clinical Implications: The results indicate a need to sexual counseling interventions directed toward sexual function and sexual quality of life in women with permanent intestinal ostomy. Purpose: We assessed factors that affect the utilization of sperm cryopreservation before 2021, when patients covered expenses, and the influence on quality of life. Methods: Between 2011 and 2021, testicular cancer survivors (TCS) at our clinic completed a questionnaire, including EORTC QLQ-TC26, covering sperm cryopreservation, sociodemographic details, post-treatment births, and artificial insemination. Results: After 5.7 ± 3.0 years, 279 participants (64%) responded to the questionnaire. Among them, 33% (91/279) of testicular cancer survivors chose sperm cryopreservation prior to treatment, with 11% (10/91) using it for insemination. Conversely, 2% (3/188) without cryopreservation reported unfulfilled desire to have children. Univariate analysis showed TCS with cryopreservation were younger (30.6 ± 7.1 (35 (21–59)) vs. 42.4 ± 10.9 (48 (22–81)) years; p = 0.001), had a lower BMI (24.2 ± 3.3 vs. 26.6 ± 4.6 kg/m2; p = 0.009) and a lower Charlson Score (> 3: 36% vs. 60%; p < 0.001). Multivariate analysis revealed older age (≥ 37 years: OR 13.1 (5.5–31.2), p < 0.001) and lower education (middle school or less: OR 3.3 (1.6–6.9), p = 0.001) as independent factors associated with not undergoing cryopreservation. Regarding quality of life, multivariate analysis identified a lower infertility anxiety score (OR 4.3 (2.0–9.0), p < 0.001) and higher age (≥ 44 years: OR 5.4 (2.6–11.3); p < 0.001) as predictors for the absence of prior cryopreservation. Conclusions: Age and education seem to impact the choice of undergoing paid sperm cryopreservation. Urologists should inform testicular cancer patients about costs and coverage. This study investigates the relationship between sexual quality of life (SQoL) and internalized homonegativity among Italian lesbian and bisexual cisgender women, drawing on the minority stress model. The aim of this study is to compare levels of internalized homonegativity and SQoL between the two groups, exploring the association between these variables. We used a quantitative methodology based on a questionnaire. The data were collected through an online questionnaire from 686 women, including 217 lesbians and 469 bisexuals, using the Lesbian Internalized Homophobia Scale and the Female-Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire. Statistical analyses, including t-tests and linear regression, were performed to assess group differences and predictors of SQoL. The findings support the hypothesis that bisexual women may experience higher levels of internalized homonegativity. Additionally, the study reveals disparities in SQoL, with lesbian women reporting better outcomes. The linear regression model confirmed a significant negative association between internalized homonegativity and SQoL. The results highlight the need for further research on factors influencing sexual well-being in sexual minority women, and the need to give thorough attention to specific sexual identities in clinical and research practice. Background: Gynecological cancers among women were both chronic and vitally health problems. The increasing prevalence of women with surviving gynecological cancers and the receiving treatments of cancer negatively affected the sexual quality of life. Aim: The study was conducted to determine the sexual quality of life of healthy women and women with gynecological cancer and to determine the predictors of sexual quality of life in women with gynecological cancer. Methods: The research is a hospital‐based case–control study was conducted. The study was carried out with 65 patients with histologically confirmed gynecological cancer were compared with 75 controls, who were admitted to the different departments of the same hospital in the Izmir, in western Türkiye. Results: The Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire score (SQOL) of cases was 60.12 ± 9.01 and controls was 78.92 ± 7.08. SQOL scores of cases were significantly lower than controls (p < 0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis results showed that age (B = −0.295, p = 0.072), working (B = 4.981, p = 0.016), smoking (B = −4.590, p = 0.035), diagnosed with cervical cancer (B = −4.214, p = 0.045), and receiving chemotherapy (B = −4.722, p = 0.028) were associated with sexual quality of life in women with gynecological cancer (p < 0.05, R2: 0.40). Conclusion: Women with gynecological cancer had lower quality of sex life compared with healthy women. Gynecological cancers negatively affect women's sexual quality of life. Health professionals (especially nurses) should be aware of the potential problems that women with gynecological cancer may experience with their sexual lives. The aim of current study was to examine the sexual quality of life and problems of women with gynecological cancer in a Turkish Muslim population to evaluate them according to their treatment modalities. This study was conducted on 350 women who voluntarily accepted to participate in the study and were treated for gynecological cancer. Patients; who are aged from 18 to 65 years, have partners, sexually active, completed first treatment, not in the terminal period, without neurological and psychiatric disorders were included in the study. The research data were collected by using the descriptive characteristics form and Sexual Quality of Life Scale-Female (SQOLS-F). The quality of sexual life of women with gynecological cancer was very low (34.1 ± 10.2). The sexual quality of life of women with gynecological cancer differed according to the treatment methods and cancer types. Sexual quality of life was higher in those who received surgical treatment than those who received radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment. In addition, pathological symptoms were observed more intensely, especially in the chemotherapy group. Objective(s): Sexual self-efficacy is one of the most important issues for having a sexual quality of life. The present study was conducted with the aim of assessing the effect of narrative therapy on sexual self-efficacy and sexual quality of life in women. Methods: This semi-experimental study was conducted on 82 women in reproductive age. Among comprehensive health centers affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, two centers were randomly selected. Then, 82 women were selected according to the inclusion criteria and randomly assigned to intervention and control groups ( n= 41 per each group). In the intervention group, narrative therapy was performed during four 90-minute sessions. The control group did not receive any intervention. Data were collected using the standard sexual self-efficacy questionnaire (SSEQ) and the sexual quality of life questionnaire (SQOL-F), before and one month after the intervention. Data analysis was done using mean and standard deviation, number and percentage, independent and paired t-test, Mann-Whitney and Fisher. Results: There was no significant difference between the intervention and control group in terms of demographic and clinical characteristics. Before the intervention, sexual self-efficacy was not significantly different in the intervention 11.92(2.06) and the control group 12.63(3.42) (P=0.24); However, after the intervention this difference was significant between the intervention 20.31(5.18) and control group 13.39(2.87) (P=0.001). IntroductionProblems related to the quality of sexual life in gynecological practice are usually neglected. This study aimed to highlight the significance of this area of concern and evaluate the usefulness of tools, such as patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and pelvic floor examination, to improve women’s sexual wellbeing and to identify predictors of poor quality of sexual life during the well-woman annual visit.MethodsA cross-sectional study was designed to examine 300 healthy women to determine whether the sexual quality of life (SQOL) questionnaire (on electronic devices) and pelvic floor muscle assessment (the vulva, anus, muscles, and periurethral (VAMP) protocol) of asymptomatic women during the annual bimanual examination (BME) help differentiate patients who would benefit from discussing sexual problems with a gynecologist. Dyspareunia was an exclusion criterion.ResultsThe majority of subjects experienced high sexual wellbeing (82.0% with SQOL score of ≥84), with a mean of 85.7 points. SQOL scores were lower for psychiatric disorders or symptoms (37.0% of subjects), although they did not correlate with age, BMI, parity, contraception use, history of vulvovaginal symptoms, neurosurgical/orthopedic problems, and rectal, bowel, or bladder symptoms. Patients with dyspareunia (16.0% of participants, although they denied it during the face-to-face consultation) had a 3.6 times higher prevalence of low or moderate quality of sexual life. The VAMP protocol score was low in asymptomatic women, 33.0% met positive criteria (VAMP+, NRS ≥3) for pelvic floor dysfunction (overactivity), although at borderline levels. VAMP+ was positively correlated with chronic pain and genitourinary symptoms, but neither with dyspareunia nor incontinence, and was unrelated to the SQOL score (p = 0.151).ConclusionWomen’s sexual health is a global health priority. Finding a way to start a discussion with an asymptomatic patient is crucial to increasing patients’ interest in disclosing a sexual health problem to be resolved. PROs or simple questions about sexual wellbeing direct the discussion mainly toward the at-risk group for sexual deterioration: those with mental health problems and women with dyspareunia. Dyspareunia is considered a predictor of decreased quality of sexual life, a major sexual disorder that should not be overlooked. Gynecological consultation should resolve concerns, identify the problem, and refer for professional sexual care if still needed.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the relationship between the sexual quality of life and life satisfaction in women with urinary incontinence. Methods: This research is Correlational-descriptive research. Sample of the study consisted of 210 women with urinary incontinence. The data of the study were collected using "The Patient Information Form," "The Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire" and "The Satisfaction with Life Scale." In analyzing; Mann-Whitney U tests, Kruskal Wallis variance analysis were used. Results: It has been found that educational status, income status, menopause status, and frequency of urinary incontinence affect the sexual quality of life. A statistically significant positive moderate linear relationship was found between the mean SWLS scores and the mean SQOL scores (p < 0.05). Background: Shilajit is mentioned in the “Kama Sutra” as a potent enhancer of sexual desire. This study aimed to investigate the effects of oral Shilajit tablets on sexual function and sexual quality of life among women of reproductive age. Methods: Forty-eight reproductive-aged women participated in a placebo-controlled triple-blind clinical trial. The intervention group took oral Shilajit tablets (200 mg) twice daily for 60 days and the control group took the placebo. Data collection tools were Sexual Quality of Life-Female and Female Sexual Function Index. Data were collected before the intervention, 30, 60, and 90 days after the start of the study. Results: Forty-three women completed the study. The mean score of total sexual function in the intervention group was significantly higher than before the intervention (P < 0.001). The mean score of sexual function was 28.93 after 90 days in the intervention group while it was 22.09 in the control group. This finding was observed in most domains of the sexual function index. The mean score of sexual quality of life increased after 60 days of intervention in both groups; however, the difference was not statistically significant (P = 0.094). Conclusion: The study indicated that Shilajit, as a complementary therapy, may improve sexual function and most of its domains; while there was no effect on improving the quality of sexual life. Abstract Background Breast cancer, as the most prevalent malignancy among women globally and in Iran, affects important aspects of the lives of the survivors of this condition, especially the quality of sexual life. Solution-focused brief therapy is one of the therapeutic counseling approaches used in various fields, including sexual function problems. In recent years, online and internet-mediated counseling methods have received more attention. Objective This study investigated the effect of online counseling based on a solution-focused approach in improving the sexual quality of life (SQL) of women with breast cancer. Materials & methods In this clinical trial, the research population consisted of women with a history of breast cancer with a recorded file in Shahid Ramazanzadeh Radiation Oncology Center in Yazd and at least 6 months had elapsed since the end of their treatment. After selecting 80 samples based on the random numbers table, they were assigned into two groups of 40, i.e., active control and intervention, using random allocation software. Participants in the intervention group were given online counseling through the Skyroom space with a solution-focused approach. Eight weekly sessions were held each lasting 60–90 min. The active control group received an educational file to improve the SQL. All participants in two groups completed the SQL questionnaire at the beginning of the study, at the end of the study, and 1 month after the study. Data were analyzed with SPSS18 using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results Finally, the data of 33 participants in the intervention group and 32 participants in the active control group were analyzed. The mean score of the SQL in the intervention group increased from 68.57 ± 18.63 before the intervention to 78.84 ± 12.7 immediately after the intervention (P = 0.015), and to 79.60 ± 19.88 1 month after the intervention (P = 0.012). The mean score of the SQL in the active control group increased from 64.45 ± 22.76 before the intervention to 67.20 ± 20.29 immediately after the intervention (P = 0.33), and to 68.70 ± 20.76 1 month after the intervention (P = 0.62). The difference in the mean score of the SQL before and after the intervention between the two groups was statistically significant (P = 0.007). Conclusion It seems that the use of counseling with a solution-focused approach in women with a history of breast cancer improves the SQL. Thus, considering the effectiveness of this type of training, it is recommended that this method be used as a sexual health counseling method in medical centers. The purpose of this study is to examine the predictors of sexual quality of life and relationship happiness during the COVID-19 pandemic in a sample in Turkey. This study utilized a descriptive and relational screening design. It was conducted between June 2021 and November 2021 during the pandemic. The participants included 307 women who were accessed online through social networks. The linear multiple regression analysis results showed a significant relationship between changes in the family income level during the pandemic (β-coefficient −0.120; p =.006), sexual compatibility with the spouse (β-coefficient 0.541; p =.001) and experiencing problems in sexual life (β-coefficient 0.173; p =.001) and sexual quality of life. A significant relationship was found between relationship happiness and quality of the time spent with the spouse during the pandemic (β-coefficient −0.282; p =.001), sexual compatibility with the spouse (β-coefficient −0.327; p =.001) and marriage compatibility (β-coefficient −0.152; p =.019). This study found that women's sexual quality of life and relationship happiness were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, women should be provided with consultancy services through the evaluation of their sexual life and relationship happiness when their health problems are evaluated during the pandemic period. This study aims to determine the effect of reduction mammoplasty on low back pain, self-anxiety, and sexual quality of life. The study was conducted with 51 female patients who met the criteria. The data were collected using a descriptive characteristics form, the Oswestry Disability Index, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and the Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire-Female. The patients had moderate (22.64SD6.72) low back pain in the preoperative period, which decreased (3.21SD6.59) in the postoperative period. The patients had significantly lower Oswestry Disability Index and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale mean scores in the postoperative period than in the preoperative period (p < 0.05). The patients' self-esteem increased after the surgery. However, there was no significant difference between their preoperative and postoperative Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire-Female mean scores (p > 0.05). This study found a significant decrease in low back pain and a significant increase in self-esteem in patients after reduction mammoplasty, whereas no significant change was found in their sexual quality of life. Background: Sexual counseling can improve or may have benefit to patients' sexual function after open heart surgery. Aim: The study aims to determine the effect of sexual counseling on sexual function and quality of sexual life with the PLISSIT model (ie, permission, limited information, specific suggestions, intensive therapy) for women undergoing open heart surgery. Methods: The study was a pilot randomized controlled trial. Seventy women who planned open heart surgery were randomly divided into the control group or the sexual counseling group between November 2020 and November 2021. In addition to routine care, sexual counseling with the PLISSIT model was given to women in the sexual counseling group for 12 weeks after the operation. During the research, 6 PLISSIT sessions were conducted. Women in the control group received routine postoperative care, which included hospital-provided postoperative home care practices (medication, nutrition, physical activity). Outcomes: Data were obtained with an information form, the Beck Depression Inventory, the Female Sexual Function Index, and the Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire–Female. Results: The women in the sexual counseling and control groups were similar in terms of sociodemographic, obstetric, gynecologic, general health, current heart disease, and sexual function data (P > .05). After sexual counseling with the PLISSIT model, scores on the Female Sexual Function Index and Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire–Female significantly increased in the sexual counseling group while Beck Depression Inventory scores decreased (P < .05). Comparisons were made within and between groups. Clinical Implications: Sexual counseling with the PLISSIT model is a useful and effective model for health professionals to improve the sexual function and sexual quality of life of women's who will undergo open heart surgery. Strengths and Limitations: The limitations of the study were as follows: only 1 assessment after the intervention ended, no short- or long-term follow-up, and a small sample size. Other limitations include the absence of controls for therapeutic context or positive expectations in the experimental group. Conclusion: Sexual counseling with the PLISSIT model after open heart surgery increased the sexual function and sexual quality of life of women while reducing the symptoms of depression. Aims and Objectives: This study aimed to determine the prevalence and predictive factors of sexual dysfunction and quality of sexual life in women with heart failure. Background: Symptoms of heart failure may cause a decrease in sexual performance, sexual satisfaction and sexual desire. Methods: This cross‐sectional study was conducted between December 2019 and June 22, 2020. The findings were reported according to the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) guidelines (n = 356). Results: The majority of the participants had sexual dysfunction (84.8%), mainly a reduction in sexual desire. Participants had a mean SQOL‐F score of 75.49 ± 19.37. More than a quarter of the participants stated that they were afraid of dying during sex (29.2%). There were changes in sexual dysfunction based on the class of medications that participants used regularly. Almost all participants stated that they were never informed by nurses or other healthcare professionals about sex (98%). Menopausal women are seven times more likely to develop sexual dysfunction than non‐menopausal women (OR = 7.0, p <.001). Conclusion: Women with heart failure are more likely to develop sexual dysfunction. Many factors affect sexual dysfunction and sexual quality of life. Therefore, nurses should take sexual dysfunction into account when caring for women with heart failure. They should monitor them for risk factors and side effects, draw up and implement plans to respond to problems. Relevance to Clinical Practice: Sexual dysfunction is quite high in women with heart failure. Nurses should encourage these patients to talk about sexual problems and provide sexual health education and counselling regardless of the level of their sexual problems. Background: Breast cancer, as the most prevalent malignancy among women globally and in Iran, affects important aspects of the lives of the survivors of this condition, especially the quality of sexual life. Solution-focused brief therapy is one of the therapeutic counseling approaches used in various fields, including sexual function problems. In recent years, online and internet-mediated counseling methods have received more attention. Objective: This study investigated the effect of online counseling based on a solution-focused approach in improving the sexual quality of life (SQL) of women with breast cancer. Materials & methods: In this clinical trial, the research population consisted of women with a history of breast cancer with a recorded file in Shahid Ramazanzadeh Radiation Oncology Center in Yazd and at least 6 months had elapsed since the end of their treatment. After selecting 80 samples based on the random numbers table, they were assigned into two groups of 40, i.e., active control and intervention, using random allocation software. Participants in the intervention group were given online counseling through the Skyroom space with a solution-focused approach. Eight weekly sessions were held each lasting 60–90 min. The active control group received an educational file to improve the SQL. All participants in two groups completed the SQL questionnaire at the beginning of the study, at the end of the study, and 1 month after the study. Data were analyzed with SPSS18 using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Finally, the data of 33 participants in the intervention group and 32 participants in the active control group were analyzed. The mean score of the SQL in the intervention group increased from 68.57 ± 18.63 before the intervention to 78.84 ± 12.7 immediately after the intervention (P = 0.015), and to 79.60 ± 19.88 1 month after the intervention (P = 0.012). The mean score of the SQL in the active control group increased from 64.45 ± 22.76 before the intervention to 67.20 ± 20.29 immediately after the intervention (P = 0.33), and to 68.70 ± 20.76 1 month after the intervention (P = 0.62). The difference in the mean score of the SQL before and after the intervention between the two groups was statistically significant (P = 0.007). Conclusion: It seems that the use of counseling with a solution-focused approach in women with a history of breast cancer improves the SQL. Thus, considering the effectiveness of this type of training, it is recommended that this method be used as a sexual health counseling method in medical centers. Objective: Given the improvement in the surgical treatment of endometrial cancer with the inclusion of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB), our aim was to evaluate the impact of this minimally invasive and tailored nodal assessment on patients' quality of life (QoL). Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in a single-centre, tertiary-level hospital. Patients diagnosed with preoperative early-stage endometrial cancer, who underwent primary surgical treatment between August 2015 and November 2021, were included. The enrolled patients were divided into two cohorts according to the nodal staging performed: the first group underwent only SLNB (SLNB group); the second group underwent pelvic and/or para-aortic lymphadenectomy (LND group). We evaluated the overall QoL using the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Quality of Life core 30-item questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30) and a sexual health questionnaire (EORTC SHQ-C20). The scores were compared between the groups. Results: Ninety patients were enrolled in the study: 61 (67.8%) in the SLNB group and 29 (32.2%) in the LND group. In the LND group, 24 (82.7%) patients underwent pelvic and para-aortic LND, while 5 (17.3%) patients underwent pelvic LND. The assessment of the functional scales showed better results for the SLNB group than for the LND group, with a significantly lower impact on physical status (8.2% vs. 25%, respectively; p = 0.031). In terms of the symptom scales, the SLNB group reported a significantly lower negative impact on sleep quality (4.9% vs. 27.6%, respectively; p < 0.01), pain (1.6% vs. 13.8%, respectively; p = 0.019), and dyspnoea (0% vs. 10.3%, respectively; p = 0.011) than the LND group. The SLNB group had better results for all analysed items regarding sexual QoL. Conclusions: The implementation of a surgical technique with SLNB improved patients' overall QoL by increasing their well-being in the functional and symptom spheres. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Depression and anxiety are two phenomena that affect quality of life as well as sexual function. In this study we aimed to investigate the correlation between quality of sexual life in women candidates for Social egg freezing (SEF) and their depression and anxiety symptoms and to our knowledge, this relation has not yet been fully explored. We surveyed 166 women seeking SEF and asked them to fill out the Sexual quality of life questionnaire Female (SQOL-F), with four subscales: Psychosexual Feelings, Sexual and Relationship Satisfaction, Self-worth-lessness, and Sexual Repression, and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). We found that psychosexual feelings and sexual repression were negatively associated with anxiety (r=-0.304 and r= -0.174, respectively) and depression (r=-0.255 and r= -0.237, respectively). There was also statistically negatively significant correlation between HADS-D score and self-worthlessness (r= -0.231, p = 0.002). The SQOL-F total score and HADS-A or HADS-D scores showed low yet negatively significant correlations (r= -0.197 and r=-0.236). Participants who considered virginity to be important in their life, had reportedly lower mean score of the SQOL-F than others (p = 0.020). In contrast, opponents, who did not consider virginity to be of importance in life, declared lower mean scores of anxiety and depression than others. We concluded that women seeking SEF exhibited a satisfactory level of SQOL, and low magnitude of depression and anxiety symptoms. We discovered inverse relationship between two domains "psychosexual feelings" and "sexual repression" with anxiety and depression. Participants who believed that virginity must be preserved until after marriage also claimed that they had suffered mentally more than others from sexual repression. Sexual quality of life (SQoL) challenges are prevalent and persistent for people with a cancer diagnosis. Using a qualitative design, this study investigated the impact of a cancer diagnosis on SQoL in participants (N = 18) with a current or past cancer diagnosis of various sites and severity. Thematic analysis identified three themes: gender attachment, vulnerability, and growth vs. fixed mindset. The theme of gender attachment related to the impact of understanding SQoL based on heteronormative definitions of masculinity and femininity. The second theme of vulnerability suggested that pre-existing relational or personal challenges can amplify the impact of a cancer diagnosis on SQoL. The third theme of growth vs. fixed mindset explored how cognitive flexibility and optimism can support SQoL, while a rigid and pessimistic mindset can exacerbate SQoL challenges. The findings of this study build on the traditional medical understanding of SQoL and can inform SQoL support in cancer care settings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between women's marital adjustment and sexual quality of life, and their use of family planning methods. This is a descriptive study. The sample size was calculated as 349 women. Data were collected using the personal information form, the Dyadic Adjustment Scale, and the Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire-Female. The data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 software by creating the database. The statstcal sgnfcance level was set at 0.05. The mean scores the participants obtained from the Dyadic Adjustment Scale and Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire-Female were 106.27±22.21 and 77.46±21.85 respectively. Of the participating women, 36.7% used an intrauterine device for birth control, 27.8% used condoms, 13.8% used hormonal drugs. No statistically significant differences were determined between the mean scores obtained from the Dyadic Adjustment Scale and between the mean scores obtained from the Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire-Female in terms of the family planning methods the participants used (p>0.05). However, differences between the mean scores the participants obtained from the affectional expression subscale of Dyadic Adjustment Scale were found to be statistically significant in terms of the family planning methods they used (p<0.05). While the marital adjustment was high among the participating women their quality of life level was moderate. It was determined that the sexual quality of life increased as the marital adjustment increased. It was also determined that family planning methods the participants preferred affected not their sexual quality of life and marital adjustment but the affectional expression subscale. Family planning methods the participating women used did not affect their marital adjustment and sexual quality, but hormonal drugs and intra uterin device affected their scores for the affectional expression subscale of the Dyadic Adjustment Scale. Background: Association between opioid use and sexual functioning is well-known. However, data evaluating the influence of treatment on different aspects of sexuality are lacking. Aim: To compare sexual behavior, functioning, relationship, satisfaction, and sexual quality of life (sQoL) among treatment naïve patients (GROUP-I) with Opioid (heroin) dependence syndrome (ODS-H) with those maintained on buprenorphine (GROUP-II). Methods: Married adult males diagnosed with ODS-H, currently sexually active, and living with their partner were recruited. They were assessed for their sexual practices and high-risk sexual behavior (HRSB) through a semi-structured questionnaire and sexual functioning, relationships, satisfaction, and sQoL through structured questionnaires. Results: A total of 112 individuals (GROUP-I: 63; GROUP-II: 49) were recruited from the outpatient settings. Mean age and employment in GROUP-II were higher (p < 0.05) than in GROUP-I (37 vs 32 years; 94% vs 70%, respectively). Other sociodemographic variables and the age of onset of heroin use were comparable. The current practice of HRSB (e.g., engaging in casual partner sex, sex with commercial sex workers, and sex under intoxication) was higher in GROUP-I while almost no differences were seen in lifetime HRSB. The frequency of erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation in the two groups were: 78% vs 39% (p < 0.001), and 30% vs 6% (p = 0.001), respectively. GROUP-II had significantly higher scores in all the scales (p < 0.05) as compared to GROUP-I, indicating better sexual satisfaction, quality of life, and sexual relationship. Conclusion: Heroin use is associated with HRSB, poorer sexual functioning, overall satisfaction, and sQoL. Maintenance of Buprenorphine helps with improvement in all these parameters. As young women transition from adolescence to adulthood, they begin to explore their sexual identities and sexual relationships. The current literature supports the relationship between sexual quality of life (QOL) and mental well-being. However, this relationship has not yet been replicated in undergraduate women. In order to address this gap, the authors assessed the correlation between sexual QOL and mental well-being among a sample of women undergraduate students in Canada. The study design was cross-sectional in nature, and demographic information was collected, along with the completion of validated measures of sexual QOL and mental well-being. A total of 157 individuals participated. After removing those who did not meet inclusion criteria and those with > 90% incomplete responses, 124 valid survey responses remained for analysis. A hierarchical multivariable linear regression was conducted while controlling for age, sexual orientation, exercise, history of nonconsensual sexual contact, household income, and self-perceived health status. Every one-unit increase in sexual QOL was associated with a 0.35 increase in mental well-being (95% CI 0.105–0.428, p = .002). A history of unwanted or nonconsensual sexual activity had a significant negative correlation with mental well-being (p = .027). The authors' findings suggest a significant relationship between sexual QOL and mental well-being. There is a strong opportunity for universities to bolster the support services available to students, with a required focus on women with a history of nonconsensual sexual contact. Objective: To evaluate the effect of a sex education program on sexual function and sexual quality of life in women with endometriosis. Methods: In a quasi‐experimental study, women with endometriosis who had undergone laparoscopic surgery were assigned to an intervention group (n = 36) or a control group (n = 36). The intervention group received a sex education program consisting of two sessions a week (90 min each) for two consecutive weeks; the control group received none. Both groups were followed for 12 weeks. Sexual function and sexual quality of life were assessed on the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and the Sexual Quality of life‐Female (SQOL‐F) questionnaire before the intervention, as well as 8 and 12 weeks after the intervention. Outcomes were analyzed using Student t test, the χ2 test, Fisher exact test, and repeated measures analysis of variance. Results: The mean age of the study participants was 36.9 ± 5.7 years. The two groups did not differ significantly in terms of demographics and pre‐intervention clinical characteristics. At the end of the study, sex education reduced female sexual dysfunction by 58.1% in the intervention group. The mean FSFI score increased significantly in the intervention group from pre‐intervention to 8 and 12 weeks post‐intervention compared with the scores in the control group (P < 0.001). Conclusions: Sex education appears to be a promising intervention for reducing sexual dysfunction and improving sexual function and sexual quality of life in women with endometriosis. Future studies should encompass longer periods of follow up to obtain further data on the efficacy of sex education in this setting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
