The paper aims to describe how higher education students manage their webcams in a synchronous digital learning setting. A survey investigated students' self-presentation and the main factors impacting their decision to turn the camera on or not. The results indicate that only 6% of students always keep their camera on, affected by an inappropriate setting , only 19% have a dedicated space, and by personal appearance , 75% wear pyjamas or a gym suit. Students do not manage their impression either because they are not aware of the implications, or they are not technically equipped, or because they do not consider it relevant in online learning activities. Findings' implications provide relevant recommendations for higher education institutions to better prepare students to study effectively in a digital learning environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ABSTRACT Aim Design Methods Results Conclusion Impact Reporting Method Patient or Public Contribution To explore the factors influencing the implementation of reasonable adjustments in hospitals for people with intellectual disability: using a realist lens.A qualitative study using a realist lens.Data collection involved one focus group interview and three semi‐structured interviews with healthcare professionals working in hospital or community settings in September 2023. Data were analysed using qualitative content analysis and findings were mapped to the Context and Implementation of Complex Interventions (CICI) framework across the dimension's context, implementation and setting.Healthcare professionals support the provision of reasonable adjustments in acute hospitals as a person‐centred approach to caring for people with intellectual disability. While reasonable adjustments are evident in practice, they are mostly individual‐level cases with little evidence of strategic system‐level implementation. The factors influencing the implementation of reasonable adjustments in practice were conceptualised using the CICI framework. Context factors spanned the domains of epidemiological (e.g., ageing population), socio‐cultural (e.g., historical healthcare), political (e.g., lack of integrated care pathways) and ethical (e.g., provision of person‐centred care). Implementation factors spanned the domains of strategies (e.g., leadership strategies), agents (e.g., liaison and advocacy roles) and outcomes (e.g., individual‐level reasonable adjustments). The setting for the complex intervention was the acute hospital. System‐level indicators for successful implementation include intellectual disability specific policies/procedures for integrated care pathways, education and awareness training for hospital staff, and leadership strategies such as the development of liaison nursing roles and the appropriate allocation of physical and human resources.A radical change is needed where implementation of reasonable adjustments in acute hospitals are broadened beyond isolated individual‐level cases to system‐level healthcare. This research sought to generate large-scale yet sophisticated data relating to ability grouping practices in physical education (PE) in secondary schools in England, with the intent of extending knowledge of the various ability grouping practices being adopted within and across schools. The prevalence of particular ability grouping practices, processes associated with their application, and factors influencing their use and non-use were explored. Data were collected via a web-based survey of all (3197 at the time of study) mainstream state-funded secondary schools in England. A total of 903 responses were received, giving a response rate of 28.2%. The findings reveal that overall, mixed-ability grouping is the most common ability grouping practice in PE, although the extent and nature of this practice (and other ability grouping practices) varied by year group, Key Stage, gender of students, and/or curriculum activities. Setting was the predominant approach in PE in Year 8 (aged 12–13) and Year 9 (aged 13–14). The use of variants on these practices (including mixed-ability grouping with a separate top and/or bottom set) and descriptions of how and why different grouping practices are enacted in specific contexts, illustrate the significance of discourses of ability, gender, and pragmatism in grouping practices in PE. The research is devoted to the analysis of the problem of cognition in the work of the 20th century Russian philosopher Vasily Sesemann (1884-1963). A number of circumstances concerning his life and work influenced the fact that to this day his works remain little known. Domestic philosopher spoke several languages; his scientific works were written in Russian, German and Lithuanian. The article provides an detailed overview of Sesemann's main works on epistemological issues; it is substantiated that the problem of cognition in the work of the Russian thinker occupies a highly significant position. An analysis of his approaches to solving epistemological issues, in particular the problem of pure knowledge, allows us to see the strong links between the elements of his philosophical system (epistemology, logic, ethics, aesthetics, philosophy of culture). Sesemann's focus on understanding knowledge in general, his critical attitude towards the positivist position on the superiority of natural science methodology is demonstrated by the persistent inclusion of questions about moral, aesthetic and religious cognition in works devoted to epistemological issues. This emphasises not only the key role of epistemology in the system of Sesemann’s philosophy, but also the importance of problems related to the spiritual and moral realm. The foundation of epistemological issues in ontology and the consistency in the application of the anthropological approach in the interpretation of knowledge gives its position depth and creates the unity of the philosophical system. The connection between various areas of philosophy is carried out, among other things, through such cornerstone concepts as: attitude, objective and non-objective, rational and irrational, reflexivity, temporality, consciousness, self-awareness, which are the conceptual framework of Sesemann’s entire philosophy.

Abstract Background Understanding participation in sport is important for sport policy, strategy and management. Most research regarding participation in sport report general trends in participation rates. However, as societies trends in leisure-time activities are changing, we need to also understand the settings of sport participation. The aim of this study was to investigate the settings of sport participation of children and adults across 13 major sports in Victoria, Australia. Methods This study utilised data about sport participation collected in the AusPlay survey from a representative sample of adults and children in Victoria, Australia. For each of the 13 sports, the settings of participation were identified for 2020, 2021 and 2022. Respondents can report participation in a particular activity in more than one setting. Therefore, we use the term “instance of participation” to refer to a person playing a particular sport in a particular setting. We calculated the weighted frequencies and prevalences pertaining to sport participation instances in each setting. Results In 2022 compared to 2020, overall participation was 1.1% higher for children and 1.2% higher for adults. For children and adults, the most popular sport for each year was swimming. In 2022, the next most popular sports for children were Australian football, basketball, gymnastics and soccer, and for adults’ tennis, basketball, golf and Australian football. For children, approximately half of participation took place within a sports club or association setting (56-60%). For adults, approximately one third of participation took place within a sports club or association setting (36%). Much of the adult participation took place in non-organised settings. The largest increases in participation in clubs and associations in 2022 compared to 2020 for children was for, hockey, soccer, gymnastics, and Australian football. The adult participation in sports clubs or associations did not fair as well, with 8 sports decreasing the proportion of participation in this setting. Conclusion As a society, we continue to evolve in how we consume participation in sport, and sport policy, infrastructure and opportunities to play need to be directed towards those particular settings and modes of delivery of sport where and how individuals want to play.

Abstract Background Management of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is complex requiring contributions from multiple specialized disciplines. In practice, this creates considerable organizational and communicational challenges. To meet those challenges, we established an interdisciplinary integrated outpatient clinic for IIH with a central coordination and a one-stop concept. Here, we aimed to evaluate effects of this one-stop concept on subjective patient satisfaction and economic outcome in patients with IIH. Methods In a retrospective cohort study, we compared the one-stop era with integrated care (IC, 1-JUL-2021 to 31-DEC-2022) to a reference group receiving standard care (SC, 1-JUL-2018 to 31-DEC-2019) regarding subjective patient satisfaction (assessed by the Vienna Patient Inventory). Multivariable binary linear regression models were used to adjust for confounders. Results Baseline characteristics of the IC group (n = 85) and SC group (n = 81) were comparable (female: 90.6% vs. 90.1%; mean age: 33.6 vs. 32.8 years, educational level: ≥9 years of education 60.0% vs. 59.3%; located in Vienna 75.3% vs. 76.5%). This paper proposes a hybrid T-DEA-P (Taguchi-Data Envelopment Analysis-Pareto) method to optimise and rank parameters of the electrohydraulic forming process using the aluminium (AA1100) sheets for automotive panel application. A linear programming model was formulated based on the integrated Taguchi – DEA data and solved using DEA software. The design variables are the stand-off distance, electrode gap voltage and medium. The constraints are formulated according to the levels specified in the level-factor table. Using literature data, the validation of the method was made. An important result shows that case 1 has the optimal parametric setting is SOD3E2V2M2. This is interpreted as a stand-off distance of 3mm, an electrode gap of 30mm a voltage of 260 volts and the medium as Oil with a viscosity of 0.89cP. The delta values are 16.026, 16.0605, 17.1109 and 37.3587. Delta values measure the rate of change of the average signal-to-noise ratios relative to the changes in levels. Based on the Pareto intervention, the medium is ranked first while voltage, electrode gap and stand-off distance are ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. The method aids in the planning activity for the forming process.

This essay considers what happens in the English classroom when teaching the same lesson to two classes considered to be of different levels of 'ability'. It explores what happens during a discussion about the fate of Eva Smith in An Inspector Calls when students' reading of a text diverges. I consider what teachers do when students' readings of a text goes against our expectations and accepted critical norms of both the teacher and the National Curriculum. Conclusions: Interdisciplinary integrated management of IIH statistically significantly and clinically meaningfully improves patient satisfaction – particularly in socioeconomically underprivileged patient groups. There is an extensive international literature on different forms of ability grouping in schools, much of which describes their impact on students' academic achievement, motivation, self‐concept and/or attitudes towards learning. Comparatively little research has focused on students' perspectives of these practices, while the research that has been conducted has primarily focused on mathematics, English and science. There is a conspicuous and arguably significant absence of research that explores students' perspectives on different forms of ability grouping in other areas of the school curriculum, including physical education (PE). In contrast to the relative privacy of classroom‐based subjects, students' bodies, physical competencies and performances are very openly on display in PE, which potentially accentuates the importance of grouping strategies from students' perspectives. This study sought to extend current grouping and ability research by generating large‐scale data relating to students' preferences for setting, mixed‐ability grouping or a combination of these approaches in secondary school PE. Data were collected through an online survey administered to 4908 students in 48 mainstream state‐funded secondary schools located in all nine regions of England. The responses showed that overall, most students preferred setting to mixed‐ability grouping or a combination of these approaches. Variations in preferences are discussed in relation to demographic and situational factors, including gender, self‐identified ability, school year group, previous experiences and the nature of the learning environment. Implications of the findings for policy, practice and future research are discussed, and the need for ability to be problematised and further explored in PE research and practice is highlighted. In this article, we offer some reflections on the concept of surprise by questioning its place and role in the practice of analytic processes. After discussing some elements related to the preconditions for surprise to occur in the analytic framework, in particular the dialectic between predictability and unpredictability, we examine the particularities of the mental state that favors states of surprise by drawing on the notions of »negative capability« and »selected fact«. We would like to propose a typology of moments of surprise that may be encountered in the analytical framework and that reveals their heterogeneous and polymorphic dimensions. Surprise can indeed vary in its temporality and intensity and can be experienced by both the analyst and the analysand separately or together. Surprise thus appears as an expression of unconscious meaning according to a reorganization of its relation to defense mechanisms such as splitting or repression. It could also maintain variable relationships with other sensory impressions such as astonishment, horror, and disconcerting strangeness. We further propose to consider surprise as an essential feature of the symbolization process to which the analyst pays particular attention. From this perspective, it appears as an expression of an encounter with the unexpected at the interface between the inside and the outside, between pleasure and displeasure, which is why it is so central to the work of psychic integration. It therefore occupies an essential place in analytic work and is catalyzed by the occurrence of transference and free association. Finally, the article concludes with some thoughts on surprise at the intersection of psychoanalysis, neuroscience, and epistemology, drawing in particular on Karl Friston’s work on the Bayesian brain. This study investigated the seamless mobile learning practices of UK government workers at various life stages, to understand how context impacted decisions about how, when and where learning was undertaken. Following Hedegaard, the context was understood as involving settings embedded within institutions. Drawing on analysis of data from public domain blogs and reports and anonymised trace data showing e‐learning visits via a mobile device, a picture of institutional practice and values was developed. Against this backdrop, a survey of 50 individuals followed by semi‐structured interviews provided information about seamless mobile learning projects. Mobile learning was often fragmented and ad hoc, rather than part of a longer, seamless learning project. A distinction between just‐in‐time learning and just‐in‐case learning was apparent, with the latter often postponed. For mobile workers, mobile learning focused on current work setting, whereas workers who could work in many interchangeable settings might move to somewhere they could concentrate. Mobile learning was sometimes motivated by a sense of a lack of time and a need to stay 'on top of things' as much as by interest in a topic. Sustained seamless mobile learning projects occurred if there was institutional support for learning that was also of individual interest and if learners had the ability to orchestrate their learning. Learners reported these seamless mobile learning projects to be enjoyable and compelling. This paper contributes to the evidence of seamless mobile learning practice over the life course and illustrates the value of considering an individual's relation to various institutions in conceptualisations of seamless mobile learning. Ayahuasca has gained the attention of researchers over the past decade as psychedelic-assisted therapy for MDMA and psilocybin have progressed through FDA approved clinical trials. In spite of the increase in research, there are relatively few clinical studies of ayahuasca and little qualitative research on the therapeutic or healing uses of psychedelics in general. The present study included 41 Western participants who were interviewed about their participation in facilitated group ayahuasca experiences (e.g., in shamanic, neoshamanic, spiritual, and religious settings). Participants were interviewed about their intentions for participating, along with the perceived impact of the experiences. In particular, we focused on impacts that participants perceived to be sustained and enduring. We identified an impressive range of beneficial impacts, including improvements in areas that are often a focus of psychotherapy, such as mental health and substance use, health behaviors, interpersonal relationships, sense of self, attitude. Extratherapeutic effects were also observed in areas such as changes in creativity, somatic sensations, physical health/pain, sense of connection to nature, spirituality, and concern for the greater good. Two participants also reported problematic experiences, apparently related to set and setting. Implications for research and practice, along with a humanistic framework for interpreting these findings is provided. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

When dealing with such topics as lighting setup, particularly in a puppet production, and its impact on the actor, namely the puppeteer, the main goal is to emphasize the importance of a stage element that is often ignored by the director and the lighting technicians as well as by other members of the production crew including the actor, the scenographer or the coreographer. My interest in this issue is not of recent date and the present article is the result of both collecting information on lighting techniques and concepts (lighting points, positions, dimensions, technical equipment, aso) and interviewing lighting technicians in this art, as one may call it, on their correlation to every phase in the evolution of a production. I do not claim to have supplied clear solutions to the above matter, but I have opened a path for debate for those that are interested in such aspects, mostly for those that can actually address this issue in an appropriate manner when working on the lighting setup of a puppet production or other stage production. BackgroundPressure support ventilation (PSV) is one of the most frequently used ventilator modes in the intensive care unit (ICU). The successful implementation of PSV depends on matching the patient’s inspiratory effort with the ventilator support. In clinical practice, the pressure support level is usually set and adjusted according to tidal volume and respiratory rate. However, these parameters may not fully represent the patient’s effort. Previous studies have shown that pressure muscle index (PMI), which is measured as the difference between the peak and plateau airway pressure during an end-inspiratory airway occlusion, could reliably determine the low and high inspiratory effort during PSV. Herein we present the study protocol for the Inspiratory effort-Targeted Pressure Support Ventilation (IT-PSV) trial to determine the effect of a PMI-targeted pressure support setting strategy on clinical outcomes in patients undergoing PSV.Methods and analysisThis is a cluster randomized controlled trial. Sixteen ICUs in academic hospitals will be included, eight of which will be randomly allocated to the PMI-targeted group and eight to the tidal volume/respiratory rate-targeted group. Before the initiation of the study, a four-week comprehensive training program, which includes courses of PSV initiation, pressure support adjustment, and weaning process, will be conducted for all staff in the participating ICUs. Adult patients with acute hypoxic respiratory failure and undergoing PSV within 24 h will be included. Pressure support setting and adjustment will follow the strategy according to the grouping. The primary outcome is the ventilator-free days at 28 days after enrollment. The patients will be followed up until successful weaning or separation of mechanical ventilation, death, hospital discharge, or until 28 days after randomization, whichever comes first.DiscussionThe IT-PSV trial will examine the effect of an inspiratory effort-targeted PSV setting strategy on the duration of mechanical ventilation. If positive, it will provide a new physiological-based PSV management that could potentially facilitate protective assisted ventilation.Clinical trial registrationClinicalTrials.gov, identifier NCT06526598.

Abstract Introduction This research explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on psychotherapists' practices and their ability to maintain a framework despite a shared reality with their patients. The specific focus in this article is on the Lebanese context, which is characterized by a series of crises including economic collapse, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Beirut blast. The objective of this study was to examine how the destabilization of the meta-frame due to crises necessitates adaptations in theoretical knowledge, practice, and setting. Methods We conducted a qualitative study among a population consisting of mental health professionals, which were recruited in Lebanon through associations and societies of psychologists, psychotherapists, and psychoanalysts. Data was collected using semi-structured individual interviews. The interviews were analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), which allowed for a dynamic exploration of the participants' experiences. Results Our study revealed four superordinate themes: (1) The strained frontiers; (2) The cumulative traumatic reality and its impact; (3) A challenged professional identity; (4) The creativity stemming from collective trauma. Conclusions Our results highlight the insecurity caused by external reality infiltrating the therapeutic setting. Online therapy allowed for continued work, but uncertainty about the online environment's impact on therapeutic relationships was observed. The study underscores the importance of adaptability, containment, and support for therapists navigating crises, particularly in the online setting.

The device of analytic psychodrama with its own peculiar characteristics, according to the method developed by Dr. Lemoine, at the design level, was well suited to the medium to long-term treatment needs of patients in charge of SerDP. The experience itself was innovative with respect to the field of application, it met the design expectations not only from a clinical point of view, but also from an economic point of view. The most important part, however, remains the clinical one, and from this point of view the numbers represented in the tables of the text are also encouraging. An important fact to underline concern the effectiveness of the method in its progress, which not only confirmed the expected expectations, but also exceeded them. From this we can deduce the reproducibility of the experience, which has as an indispensable condition a thorough training of the two psychotherapists involved in its application. Les activités à médiations artistiques et les soins culturels sont devenus une composante de la plupart des institutions hospitalières pour enfants et adolescents. Pourtant leur financement n'est pas spécifié. À partir de l'expérience d'un service hospitalo-universitaire, nous souhaitons réfléchir aux mesures qui pourraient favoriser leur maintien. Nous avons conduit une étude observationnelle et des entretiens (n = 15) pour colliger l'ensemble des activités conduites par un intervenant extérieur en 2023, leur thématique, le public visé, leurs objectifs, la nature des intervenants, l'existence d'une convention formalisée, d'un financement, et également leurs fréquence et durée. Trente-quatre partenaires différents ont mené 685 actions en 2023 dont 10 % ont pu être réalisées à l'extérieur de l'hôpital. Les thématiques abordées sont extrêmement variées (sports, arts de la scène, littérature, arts visuels...). Ces activités représentent 210 interventions en moyenne par unité, soit 4 par semaine. Elles sont néanmoins moins nombreuses dans l'unité de soins intensifs et les unités pour patients autistes avec comportements défis, et quasiment absente des unités extrahospitalières. Art-mediated activities and cultural care have become a component of most hospital institutions for children and adolescents. Yet their funding is not specified. Based on the experience of a university hospital department, we would like to consider measures that might encourage their continuation. We conducted an observational study and interviews (n = 15) to list all the activities carried out by an external contributor in 2023, their themes, the target audience, their objectives, the nature of the contributors, the existence of a formalized agreement, funding, as well as their frequency and duration. Thirty-five different partners carried out 685 actions in 2023, 10% of which were carried out outside the hospital. The themes addressed are extremely varied (sports, performing arts, literature, visual arts, etc.). These activities represent an average of 210 interventions per unit, or 4 per week. However, they are less numerous in the intensive care unit and units for autistic patients with challenging behaviors, and virtually absent from outpatient units. Finally, specific funding or agreements are often absent. Despite their frequency and the substantial investment made by the team and its partners, there are a number of weaknesses. We are developing the idea that the creation of a cultural policy co-constructed between a cultural and sponsorship department and the clinical components (in our case, child psychiatry) would make it possible to resolve some of these weaknesses and promote a better inclusion in patient care. Introduction: This research explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on psychotherapists' practices and their ability to maintain a framework despite a shared reality with their patients. The specific focus in this article is on the Lebanese context, which is characterized by a series of crises including economic collapse, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Beirut blast. The objective of this study was to examine how the destabilization of the meta-frame due to crises necessitates adaptations in theoretical knowledge, practice, and setting. Methods: We conducted a qualitative study among a population consisting of mental health professionals, which were recruited in Lebanon through associations and societies of psychologists, psychotherapists, and psychoanalysts. Data was collected using semi-structured individual interviews. The interviews were analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), which allowed for a dynamic exploration of the participants' experiences. Results: Our study revealed four superordinate themes: (1) The strained frontiers; (2) The cumulative traumatic reality and its impact; (3) A challenged professional identity; (4) The creativity stemming from collective trauma. Conclusions: Our results highlight the insecurity caused by external reality infiltrating the therapeutic setting. Online therapy allowed for continued work, but uncertainty about the online environment's impact on therapeutic relationships was observed. Clinical guidelines for adults with borderline personality disorder (BPD) recommend outpatient psychotherapy as first-line treatment. Little is known whether this recommendation is also applicable to adolescents. The current study examined the relationship between treatment setting and the outcome of early intervention for adolescents with BPD pathology. One-hundred and seventy-eight adolescents from a specialized outpatient clinic were assessed at baseline, and at 1- and 2-year follow-up. Sixty-three participants who received inpatient treatment during the first year were assigned to the "combined inpatient/outpatient group", 115 participants to the "outpatient only group". Generalized linear and mixed models with inverted probability weights to adjust for baseline differences were applied to examine the impact of group on clinical changes over time. Both groups demonstrated a significant decrease in BPD features, depressive symptoms, psychopathological distress, non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, and overall illness severity, and a significant increase in quality of life and psychosocial functioning from baseline to follow-up 2. The decrease in NSSI and overall illness severity, and the increase in psychosocial functioning from baseline to follow-up 1 were greater in the outpatient only group, with comparable improvements between groups from follow-up 1 to follow-up 2. Both outpatient treatment and combined outpatient/inpatient treatment resulted in clinical improvements over time, with some indication for faster changes in the outpatient only setting. The findings provide preliminary evidence that the recommendation of outpatient psychotherapy as the first-line treatment for BPD also holds true for adolescents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

José Bleger’s paper on the setting (encuadre) is integral to his 1967 book Symbiosis and Ambiguity. Relevant concepts from the book are summarised before examining his view of the setting as a “non-process” consisting of “constants”, complementing the “variables” of the analytic process. Process and setting are related as figure and ground in Gestalt psychology. The ideally maintained setting is studied as a thought experiment, uniting the categories of institution, personality, body schema, and body. Deposited in the setting, the psychotic part of the personality, or “agglutinated nucleus”, is a remnant of early symbiosis with the mother. Bleger distinguishes two settings: the analyst’s and the patient’s. The latter can only be analysed by strictly maintaining the former. Ritualisation of the setting denies temporal reality. De-symbiotisation is not always possible. A concept of “internal” setting is suggested, but Bleger nowhere mentions this and the concept is problematic, leaving open the question of how to listen to the silence of the setting. Bleger’s concept of encuadre can be applied to constants (invariants) in the wider world, the psychotic part of the personality being deposited in everything that is familiar and felt to be constant, including technology, which creates a “platform” for human activity. This paper attempts to expand José Bleger’s classic, metapsychological descriptions of the psychoanalytic frame to formulate and emphasize the role of the analyst’s internal frame in establishing a psychoanalytic observational perspective in the analytic situation. The rationale for doing so follows from clinical necessity, especially when working with patients and psychic organizations that are ‘beyond neurosis’ and in non-traditional settings such as distance and telemetric analyses. Clinically speaking, in its most effective state, the analyst’s internal frame can inform the possibility of an observational vertex aimed at the intuitive grasp of psychic reality rather than a sense-based, empirical observation of parameters denoted by the elements of a consensually validatable social reality. The research aimed to enhance the accuracy of setting and spiking skills among the players of the University of Baghdad's volleyball team for the academic year (2022-2023) through a visual stimuli system designed by the researcher. The system works to develop the accuracy of two skills simultaneously during the operation of the system, through the accuracy of setting on an electronic board that contains numbers. Based on this, the setter prepares for the required position according to the number displayed on the board. The system also works to enhance the accuracy of spikes through lights that operate simultaneously with the numbers and within the opponent's area. Based on the location of the light that illuminates the area, the player performs a spike (either straight or diagonal) onto the illuminated area, according to the type of stimulus. This integrated approach not only improves the precision of spiking skills but also provides realistic game scenarios, enhancing training effectiveness. The researcher intentionally employed the experimental method for a single group with both pre-test and post-test. The research population and sample comprised players from the university volleyball team for the 2022/2023 season, who were students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, totaling 18 players. The research sample was intentionally selected, excluding the libero players, of whom there were 2. In addition to excluding the two players involved in the pilot experiment, the sample size was thus (14) players, representing (77.778%) of this population. Following the procedural steps, statistical analyses, and verification of scientific principles and parameters, the researcher arrived at the final form of the study. The statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS system to derive conclusions and applications aimed at improving the spatial accuracy of both researched skills based on their correlation with enhancing performance and motor control in the specific parts of each skill. The educational tool helped to define this free activity within the parameters of correct performance through the lighting controlled by the coach to direct the players' tasks and increase their attention in each part of the performance. This approach also catered to the detailed nuances required to showcase them along with proper skillful performance. Thus, the role of visual stimuli exercises is to facilitate the precise direction of the ball to the designated location through control and manipulation, by accelerating cognitive processes for players and enhancing their effectiveness. On the one hand, they support the motor pathway of the required skillful behavior and guide it, while also accelerating cognitive processes, or more precisely, increasing their effectiveness in organized training without exaggeration in the training environment. α-tricalcium phosphate (α-TCP) is the most widespread raw material for hydraulic calcium phosphate cements (CPCs). CPCs are widely used in bone repair due to their injectability, setting ability, and osteoconductivity. This study investigated the reactivity of α-TCP powders, focusing on the impact of minor phase impurities, β-calcium pyrophosphate and hydroxyapatite, and the synthesis temperature. The α-TCP powders were synthesized via a solid-state reaction of calcium carbonate and anhydrous dicalcium phosphate, with varying Ca/P molar ratios (1.4850–1.5075) and synthesis temperatures (1175°C–1350 °C). Powders produced with a Ca/P molar ratio below 1.50 and synthesized at a temperature above the melting point of β-CPP (1296 °C) had a broader size distribution and a two to fourfold lower hydraulic reactivity. Conversely, a higher Ca/P molar ratio improved reactivity. The study underscores the importance of precise control over synthesis parameters to enhance the performance of α-TCP-based CPCs, offering insights for optimizing material design in biomedical applications.

ObjectiveVarious approaches exist to treat youth with anorexia nervosa (AN). Family-based treatment (FBT) has never been compared to long inpatient, multimodal treatment (IMT) in a randomized controlled trial (RCT). The aim of this study was to compare data on body weight trajectories, change in eating disorder psychopathology, hospital days and treatment costs in RCTs delivering FBT or IMT.MethodReview of RCTs published between 2010 and 2020 in youth with AN, delivering FBT or IMT.ResultsFour RCTs delivering FBT (United States, n = 2; Australia, n = 2), one RCT delivering Family Therapy for AN (United Kingdom) and two RCTs delivering IMT (France, n = 1; Germany, n = 1) were identified from previous meta-analyses. The comparison of studies was limited by (1) significant differences in patient baseline characteristics including pretreated versus non-pretreated patients, (2) use of different psychometric and weight measures and (3) different initial velocity of weight recovery. Minimal baseline and outcome reporting standards for body weight metrics and nature/dose of interventions allowing international comparison are needed and suggestions to developing these standards are presented.DiscussionAn RCT should investigate, whether FBT is a viable alternative to IMT, leading to comparable weight and psychopathology improvement with less inpatient time and costs.

Introduction. The study addresses the effect of nanofibrillar cellulose (NFC) on the setting process of cement paste during the first hours of gauging. A brief justification of the research topic relevance is given. It has been noted that the modification of cement materials by nanoscale additives has sparked significant scientific and practical interest in recent years. NFC has emerged as one such additive, and the potential impacts of its incorporation into cement systems are currently under active investigation. The study aims at investigating the effect of NFC on the cement paste setting kinetics during the first hours of gauging. Materials and methods. We present the materials used in the research and their characteristics, in particular, two types of cement characterized by the presence or absence of false setting, as well as cement paste compositions with different NFC consumption (from 0 to 0.24% of dry matter by weight of cement). The technique of measuring conditional viscosity in time with a laboratory rheometer and a special measuring system is described. Results. The results of cement paste tests are presented in the form of setting process diagrams. Discussion. The results obtained and experimental data are given. The complex character of NFC influence on the cement paste setting kinetics has been noted, which depends on the cement quality and additive consumption. For cement without signs of false setting, a decrease in setting onset time was observed when increasing the NFC content. Conversely, increase in the amount of NFC leads to an increase in the setting onset time for cements with signs of false setting. Conclusion. NFC has a noticeable effect on cement paste setting kinetics in the first 3 hours: it accelerates the process when using cement without false setting and slows down the setting when using cement with false setting.

The United Kingdom (UK) has not adopted the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Heritage (the 2003 Convention). It has been argued that this is because the UK government does not fully comprehend intangible cultural heritage (ICH). However, this article suggests that the UK government does in fact understand ICH, and that several historic and current UK laws and policies protect aspects of ICH. The article re-examines ICH, and reveals that ICH includes two key elements: the discernment of heritage and the embodiment of heritage. The discernment of heritage refers to how cultures identify which spaces, objects and artefacts are the correct and meaningful referent for the expression of ICH. The embodiment of heritage refers to activities which express ICH. Understanding ICH in this way clarifies that heritage-related laws in the UK have been focussed on protecting the discernment of heritage, and not on protecting specific embodiments of heritage. The divergence of heritage-related laws and policies between England and Wales since Devolution is then examined, revealing a relationship between nationalism and the embodiment of heritage. It is argued that the UK government's understanding of this relationship better explains the UK's hesitation in adopting the 2003 Convention than poor comprehension. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study explored the multifaceted role of setting in Golshiri’s novel Shahzadeh Ehtejab. The main purpose was to show the implicit and explicit impacts of setting on different aspects of story, including meaning making, audience immersion, making space, and foregrounding common cultural aspects. Taking the purpose into account, the study tried to see the impacts of the setting on the structure and meaning of the novel Shahzadeh Ehtejab? Taking a descriptive-analytical method, the analysis of semantic, thematic, and structural elements of the novel were analyzed. The analysis of these elements of the story showed that setting in the modern stories is considered a fundamental and necessary element. It showed how the past and present lives of characters are inevitably intertwined with their surrounding environments, so that any small changes in the setting impacts the identity of characters, shapes their desires and motivations, directs their choices in a certain way, and helps determining their destiny. Since launching health health-promoting settings approach to health by WHO, valuable progress has happened in implementing its holistic concepts in settings such as cities, schools, workplaces, hospitals and healthcare services. However, significant knowledge–intention–success gaps still exist in creating sustainable health-promoting changes in settings. The complexity of the task of bridging this gap has contributed to the call for a complexity-informed paradigm shift to health as well as settings, followed by increasing consultation of relevant complexity theories, frameworks and tools in health research. This paper provides a critical scoping review of the application of complex adaptive system (CAS) theory in settings-based health promotion research. We included 14 papers, mostly qualitative studies, reporting on planning or implementation of change initiatives, less on its evaluation. CAS theory application was often incomplete thereby reducing the potential benefit of using this lens to understand change management. We suggest some recommendations how to comprehensively apply the CAS theory in setting-based health research and to report on all CAS characteristics to enhance the understanding of settings as adaptive health-promoting settings. In this article, the author investigates the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting changes in the clinical setting. The shared common reality, with its dangerous burden of death, disrupts both the analyst's and patient's worlds, uniting them in an experience of danger and alarm due to the contagion. Reflecting on the experience related to the danger of contagion becomes a valuable opportunity to anchor that experience in the clinical situation. A clinical vignette completes the article, allowing the author to delve deeper into the therapeutic process, with particular attention to the setting in patients with complex traumas, where individual trauma resonates and is amplified by collective trauma. Freud claimed that objects are means of satisfying drives (Freud, 1916), a view that was strengthened by object-relation theories, which claims that drives are primarily object-seeking (Fairbairn, 1946). In a recently published paper, I have suggested modifying this assumption. I argue that while drives are consciously directed at objects, they are unconsciously directed solely at characteristics (Saad, 2022). In this paper, I examine the distinction between directing drives at characteristics and directing drives at objects. I then use this distinction to make a distinction between transference relations and real relations. Finally, I show that the characteristic/object distinction might reveal intrapsychic conflicts in which the subject is consciously attracted to an object and unconsciously repulsed by its characteristics (or vice versa), and I examine how these conflicts can be analyzed within the psychoanalytic situation. As an inquiry of space-related methods this article evaluates the concept of “the world of the text” in relationship to the book of Numbers. It is contrasted with a more loose understanding of setting as referential field, which has been used in connection with narrative anthologies. Numbers may be described as an anthology with an attenuated frame narrative concerning Israel’s wandering through the wilderness. Therefore, setting as referential field is a better way to conceptualize space in the book than reading for the “world” of Numbers. This is seen through two case-studies where the two approaches are compared. One concerning the high census numbers at the start of Numbers together with the wilderness setting, which are shown to not invite a “factual” reading of them in a world of the wilderness, but rather as theological constructs connected to the tabernacle. The other concerning the confused itinerary notices, which are shown to not cohere into a logical trail through the wilderness, but rather fulfill their function in the passages they are part of, among other things.

Relevance. The article provides a theoretical analysis of the requirements for an educational film from the point of view of psychology and pedagogy. The analysis of Russian and foreign studies in the field of perception of sound and video, as well as the semantic content of the educational film showed that they research general characteristics and mechanisms of processing for auditory and visual information in creating an image of reality. The main studies consider the focus of attention and semantic and cognitive attitudes. Objective. The research aims to create a video course that allows a student with problems mastering mathematics to overcome the "learned helplessness", to find meaning in studying algebra and geometry, to believe that learning mathematics is easy and interesting. Methods. Content analysis, subject-subject dialogue, assessment and forecast of changes, conclusions from general to particular and from particular to general, comparative analysis. Results. The project "Matstream" considering the main topics of algebra that students of primary school study in a series of video tutorials is presented. Taking into account the cognitive characteristics of modern fifth-ninth grade students is implemented in the presentation of educational material. Three blocks of videos are aimed at forming an attitude to the perception of abstract-logical information expressed in mathematical symbols, specific knowledge, skills and abilities. Conclusion. In creating educational audiovisual products, it is necessary to take into account motivational, emotional, and cognitive components. Within the framework of the Matstream project, a program of assistance in teaching mathematics to schoolchildren is being implemented. It also involved developing attitudes to the perception of abstract-logical language of mathematical algorithms and overcoming difficulties in mastering mathematics.

Abstract The rising prevalence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) and extended-spectrum beta lactamase-resistant (ESBL) Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae) is an important global public health challenge. This threat is even more pertinent in clinical settings. Morbidity and mortality associated with this condition are alarming particularly in the developing regions of the world. A comprehensive evaluation of the epidemiology of this phenomenon will assist towards the global effort of reducing its burden. So, this systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the epidemiology of MDR K. pneumoniae in South-Eastern Asia (SEA). The study was done under the PRISMA guidelines and was preceded by the development of a priori protocol. The protocol was then registered in PROSPERO—the public registry for systematic reviews. Seven important outcomes which include the assessment of the overall MDR K. pneumoniae prevalence were designed to be evaluated. A literature search was carried out in five selected electronic databases and 4389 were screened. Of these articles, 21 studies that met the eligibility criteria were included in the review. Relevant data were extracted from the included studies. By conducting a quality effect meta-analysis, the pooled prevalence for MDR and ESBL K. pneumoniae in SEA was estimated at 55% (CI 9–96) and 27% (CI 32–100) respectively. The review also identified ESBL genes types of allodemic situations occurring mostly in respiratory tract infections. The high prevalence of MDR and ESBL K. pneumoniae in this subregion is highly significant and of both public health and clinical relevance. Overall, the findings of this review will assist in the effective prevention and control of this threat in SEA.
