Tourism is considered as one of the symbols of globalization and is an integral part of the world development process, which brings with it numerous consequences, while one of them is the standardization of products and services. Likewise, tourism has a negative effect on the natural environment, the destruction of which is a consequence of mass tourism. Many tourist visits in the tourist season endangers the natural and cultural resources as well as the infrastructure of a certain tourist destination. Experts state that the volume of tourism is not a big problem if it does not reach a number that exceeds the economic, social, and natural capacities of an individual tourist destination. For these reasons, the current and future development of tourism should be based on specific tourist products and services that are intended for a narrower segment of demand. The above refers to selective forms of tourism that are seen as sustainable. Another problem that tourism in Croatia faces is uneven development, and this refers to greater investments and development of the coastal parts of Croatia, while continental tourism lags and does not realize it´s potential. Therefore, it is considered that by developing selective tourism and increasing the tourist offer on the territory of continental Croatia, a greater number of tourist visits can be achieved and the seasonality of tourism, which is an obstacle to Croatian tourism, can be reduced. The aim of this thesis is to point out the possibilities of continental tourism development and the revitalization of forgotten tangible and intangible heritage.

The rural area of Banovina, part of the Sisak-Moslavina County in the northwestern part of Croatia, is an area with a poorly developed economy, a decreasing number of inhabitants, poor transport connections and infrastructure, which sees the development of tourism as an opportunity for recovery and development. Selective forms of tourism are being developed on a very rich, but unused and neglected resource base. In addition to all the difficulties that burdened the economies of all countries (pandemic, terrorism, migration, wars, economic crisis, inflation, consequences of climate change, etc.), the Banovina area was also hit by a devastating earthquake, destroying and damaging residential and commercial buildings, as well as cultural historical ones that are part of the heritage, which have not yet recovered from the destruction by the aggressors in the Homeland War. In order to make maximum use of existing resources, improve and perfect the tourist product and attract potential tourists and consumers, it is necessary to connect all stakeholders of tourism in this area, improve marketing, and above all, build tourist infrastructure.

Ovim diplomskim radom želi se ukazati na važnost selektivnih turističkih vrsta i uspostavljanja kvalitetne i raznovrsne turističke ponude naspram masovnom turizmu. Cikloturizam predstavlja vrstu selektivnog turizma s najvećim potencijalom razvoja i iznad svake države stoji pitanje hoće li znati valorizirati potencijal koji cikloturizam sadrži. This graduate thesis aims to point out the importance of selective forms of tourism and to establish quality and diverse tourism supply in opposition to mass tourism. Cyclotourism is a type of tourism with the greatest potential for development and above each country there is a question of whether it will be able to valorize the potential that cyclotourism contains. City of Split with its urban aglomeration due to its numerous cultural and historical resources and natural beauty has good prerequisites for the quality development of cycling tourism. At the pandemic time, this type of tourism proved to be the most resistant and suitable type because it takes place in nature and at a sufficient distance. The theoretical part of the thesis seeks to define the concept of cycling tourism in Europe and Croatia and give an overview of the main cycling corridors in Croatia. The next part of the thesis is dedicated to analysis of the state of cycling tourism in the Urban aglomeration of Split through an overview of the natural and cultural resource base of this area, analysis of the cyclotourist supply with a separate chapter dedicated to the system of public bicycles, analysis of the demand for cyclotourism and the potentials and development opportunities of cyclotourism, in which certain proposals were given to improve the cyclotourism supply. The empirical research involved 120 respondents surveyed online through a questionnaire made in Google Forms format. Based on the results of the research, the author's critical review and general conclusion of the thesis are given.

Ulaganjem i usmjerienim dugoročnim planiranjem u određene oblike selektivnog turizma proširuje se ponuda, a samim time i prihodi. With the increase in tourist demand for new things, adventures and something that tourists have not yet experienced, the need to create new forms of tourism that will attract tourists has also increased. In response to the classic tourist offers, selective tourism appeared. By creating as many forms of selective tourism as possible, the circle of tourists who will find themselves in one of the forms of selective tourism on the basis of which they choose a tourist destination expands. By investing and focused long-term planning in certain forms of selective tourism, the offer is expanded, and thus the income. Croatia, as a country with favorable geolocation and climatic conditions, has the potential to create a diverse selective offer that can attract all age groups and satisfy demanding tourists. The paper will discuss the phenomenon of selective tourism, which are all selective forms of tourism and their explanations, and will discuss the most common forms of selective tourism in Croatia. The purpose and goal of the paper is to show the importance of recognizing tourist demand and to compete with remote tourist locations.

Over the last few decades, it can be observed that the pace of life is growing and accelerating in line with growth and innovation in the information and communication (ICT) sector. Due to that, there is an increasing need for rest and free time, and thus the need for tourism. With the emergence of selective tourism, which has as its primary goal the realization of a special interest of tourists in order for them to feel the destination and what it provides in a specific way, dark tourism also appeared. It means travel or temporary stay of persons in a destination or in a locality marked by human casualties in history, where war conflicts took place, natural or man-made disasters occurred, or where celebrities were killed. Modern tourists want to see that they could understand what happened and ultimately believe it. Examples were used in this paper: concentration camps (Auschwitz and Vukovar), infamous prisons (Alcatraz and Goli Otok), natural and human disasters (Chernobyl and Pompeii), and terrorist attacks (Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and 11-9). While some may control their emotions when visiting this type of tourism, some visit them visibly shaken. Since death is considered an integral part of life, turning it into a tourist offer is both acceptable and controversial. Dark tourism is very emotional, complex and is considered a moral phenomenon, and the benefit of its research lies in what it can reveal. Current dark tourism destinations have good approaches and offers, but they also have a lot of room for development.

U suvremeno doba, multisenzorno iskustvo u turizmu sve više dolazi do izražaja preko svih pet osjetila čovjeka: vida, sluha, okusa, dodira i njuha. Tehnologija danas olakšava i unaprjeđuje turističku ponudu, napose kroz proširenu i kroz virtualnu stvarnost, a sigurno će se u budućnosti i nadalje razvijati. Putem osjetila čovjek doživljava i ulazi u interakciju s prostorom i ljudima, stoga turističke destinacije moraju uložiti dodatne napore u daljnje razvijanje multisenzornog turističkog iskustva za korisnike. In modern times, the multisensory experience in tourism is increasingly expressed through all five senses of man: sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell. Mass forms of tourism are considered obsolete, so selective forms of tourism are beginning to develop that must be able to respond to the demands of modern tourists. Today, tourists ask for more from the destination than the classic tourist offer, and through the senses they "absorb" the destination and create an authentic and unforgettable experience. The tourist offer should be able to meet the increasingly demanding needs of tourist demand in order to maintain the competitiveness of destinations. Recognizing tourist motives for travel, is important because they are the ones that move people to visit a particular destination. Tourist trips are generally motivated with an escape from everyday life. Therefore, users want to experience unforgettable experiences in a short time that they will remember for a lifetime. Today, technology facilitates and improves the tourist offer, especially through augmented and virtual reality, and it will certainly continue to develop in the future. Through the senses, man experiences and interacts with space and people, so tourist destinations must make efforts to further develop a multisensory tourist experience for users.

This paper work defines the importance and significance of sports tourism as a selective form intended for the target group of consumers, those are tourists. The role of sports and sports recreation in the tourism market takes on increasing importance, therefore, so in modern tourism they are becoming one of the primary reasons for visits of tourists to a certain tourist destination. Large sports events stand out as an important segment of sports tourism development and they have, on a global level, an important impact on the promotion of the destination itself and significant socio - economic effects. In big sports events can be classified the European and World Football Championships, the Winter and Summer Olympics, the Masters series tennis tournaments and more. A significant role in sports tourism has football, which is the most represented sport in the whole world, regardless of whether active or passive participation in it is considered. Football tourists are active throughout the year due to various football competitions, from club leagues to international representative competitions, and create significant consumption through travel, overnight stays, ticket purchases and the use of accompanying facilities offered by the tourist destination. Istria, as the most developed tourist region, through its comparative advantages has the potential for the development of sports tourism, which can significantly extend the season, with special emphasis on football preparations, hiking and cycling tourism. By monitoring sports trends on the market, through the joint action of all stakeholders and with the further infrastructure development, football preparations and cycling tourism have the potential to develop Istria into an even more competitive destination in a strong Mediterranean market.

Velik problem je nedostatak novčanih sredstava te smještajnih objekata seoskog oblika koji bi upotpunili samu ponudu., This paper deals in more detail with the treatment of the concept of marketing as a social and managerial process and how it affects tourism. It also deals with various ways in which a tourist destination could be even better positioned in the tourism market and the models that digital marketing contributes to the modern business in tourism at the national level and rural tourism as a form of selective tourism continental space. Besides, the paper is based on empirical research conducted among the holders of tourist offers in Krapina-Zagorje County, which sought to answer the question "Is rural tourism the future of Croatian tourism, given that rural tourism does not know seasonality." As rural tourism is still not the main development direction, the county's entire tourism and guidelines for its improvement are given. A big problem is the lack of funds and rural accommodation facilities that would complement the offer itself.

The paper discussed selective forms of tourism in continental Croatia, which is less developed in terms of tourism compared to Adriatic Croatia, but has good opportunities for better development, because selective forms of tourism in continental Croatia are underused. Due to a better understanding of the topic, the paper discussed tourism, its economic significance, the relationship between modern society and tourism, and the focus of tourism on sustainability. Furthermore, the paper dealt with selective tourism, its definition and characteristics, types and 66 demand for selective forms of tourism. The development factors of the Croatian tourist industry, indicators of the (under) development of the Croatian tourist market, the Croatian tourist offer, competitiveness and limitations of the development of Croatian tourism, and the seasonality of Croatian tourism were also analyzed. The last chapters discussed the tourism of continental Croatia, the geographical coverage by counties, the characteristics of tourism, tourist resources, the tourist offer of continental Croatia, and the development of selective tourism in continental Croatia, analyzing examples from practice: selective tourism of Osijek - Baranja County and selective tourism of the city of Zagreb.

Ipak, najčešći razlog putovanja je odmor, nerijetko uz more. Stoga velik broj turista u posljednje vrijeme nastoji spojiti ugodno s korisnim-sport i rekreaciju. Sports tourism is a term that has developed quite a bit in recent years. Selective tourism is the tourism of specific tourist motifs that attracts visitors to specific destinations where the tourist offer is tailored to the tourist in order to specifically experience the destination and what the tourist destination as such can provide. Dark tourism is a selective form of tourism that involves the travel or temporary stay of tourists in a tourist destination or locality marked by human suffering throughout history, in which wars have occurred, natural or disasters occur, or localities suffered by celebrities. One such, dark locality is the island of Alcatraz, which houses the most famous prison in the world. The prison, from 1934. to 1963. was the leading United States maximum security prison housing the most notorious American prisoners. Due to the high cost of reflection, Alcatraz closed in 1963. and has been under the management of Golden Gate National Park since 1973. and has been visited by more than one million visitors during the year.

SEASONALITY of tourism ,TOURISTS ,TOURIST attractions ,MASS tourism ,SUSTAINABLE development - Abstract
Seasonality is one of the most salient and significant characteristics of tourism which is experienced in almost all destinations in the world. Seasonality causes the fluctuation in tourists and visitor numbers to a destination resulting at certain times in the year with overcrowded or underutilized tourist destinations, particularly in the mass tourism destination with dominant bathing tourism. Seasonality is a concept that is well studied and documented in the tourism literature, but it is still one of the most incomprehensible problems of the tourism industry and there is still need for further investigation of certain aspects of seasonality. With the growth of mass tourism the negative economical, ecological and socio- cultural implications of seasonality increased. There is a need to understand the off-peak period for better planning and effective resource allocation in tourism sector as essential prerequisite for sustainable development. Numerous strategies of combating seasonality have been investigated but were not empirically tested. One strategy to attract additional visitors to a destination when demand levels are below capacity is the modification and diversification of the destination product. Increasing demand outside peak season and redistributing demand from time of excess use to times of low demand provides an extension of the summer season and sustainable development. Diversifying attraction through selective forms of tourism is one of the modern trends in tourist flows. Offering diversified products for selective demand in the off-season could provide extended season and ensure sustainable development. A proactive approach is required to develop and offer a variety of selective tourism products for the different segments of the tourism market in the off peak season to extend the summer season. - Abstract
There is no proper development of tourism product, whether it is about a micro- or macro- approach, without design and implementation of an adequate tourism policy. The same could apply when it comes to selective tourism and selective tourism offer, as well. The process of tourism policy creation aimed at stimulating development of selective tourism, is a highly sophisticated and demanding activity, entailing emphasized multidisciplinary, as well as support of all participants in tourism policy creation. Montenegro is an example of destination which knew how to create an incentive tourism policy in the field of selective tourism development, but it is also a destination which, due to numerous negative occurrences in both micro- and macro- environment, was often limited in creating a more stimulating environment for development of selective tourism offer. With regard to the fact that offer of different types of selective tourism represents the most competitive segment of the total tourism product of Montenegro in the global tourism market, the future tourism policy makers will have to innovate the approach to its creation. - Abstract
The concept of selective tourism took hold in the early nineties, but because of severe criticism it was not much used in the last few years. From the moment the term "selective tourism" occurred, all the way until now, there has been harsh criticism of the usage of the term. It is the term which caused heated debates, and it tends to clarify some important changes in tourism, therefore it is necessary to explain it and to help people use it in a right way. Selectivity, as a concept, occurs in other field, particularly in management, which makes additional confusion and it is necessary to clarify it. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to contribute to the right usage of the term selective tourism, i.e. selective types of tourism, and to separate it from the term selectivity in management, which occurs in a form of business style, or style of managing a business entity. Dječji karneval, Županijska smotra folklora, Ogulinski festival bajki i mnogi drugi. Today, there are more and more changes in the tourism market. Change were visible from the start when tourism had various definitions which changed with the developed and changes in the market. The first journeys were connected with the migration of population, while the first tourist travels with the Olympics. The main participants are tourists who are, today, more educated, have more income and are seeking for tourist experiences. As tourists became more demanding over time, there has emerged a need for creation of selective types of tourism in the 1970s. The first selective forms were health tourism, religious tourism, cultural tourism, holiday tourism, and so on. Due to the previously mentioned change in the participants of tourism, today we are witnessing and increasing number of selective types of tourism, and some of the newer forms are dark, sex tourism and tourism of disasters and some the like. The aim of those types of tourism is to reduce overcrowding and pollution of tourist destinations, of course with the sustainable development of tourism. Sustainable development is based on four main principles: ecological, socio-cultural, economic and environmental sustainability. Cultural tourism is a selective form of tourism which includes cultural-motivated travel, such as trips to festivals, visits to historical sites and monuments, etc. Cultural tourism participants are cultural tourists who are more educated and are wealthier than other tourists, but are also inclined to culture and the arts. There are 3 types of cultural tourists: culture-motivated tourists, culture-inspired tourists, and culture-attracted tourists. Also, cultural tourism has sub-types, and some of them are: heirloom tourism, heritage tourism, gastronomic tourism, industrial tourism and the like. For the development of a cultural tourist destination, cultural resources are needed, for example, monuments, amusement centers, museums, art events and the like. In addition to cultural resources for the development of cultural tourism, infrastructure, suprastructure and the image and reputation of the destination are also important. Ogulin is a small town in the middle of Croatia, in Karlovac county with 13 915 residents. It is situated in the Ogulin – Plaški valley, and surrounded by mountain Velika Kapela with Klek, Krpel, Brezovica, Hum, Klekinja i Trojvrh peaks, while there are rivers Dobra and Zagorska Mrežnica on the lower portion of the valley. The economy is based on wood industry and agriculture, but there are also some hints of tourism developing. For Ogulin to become a destination of cultural tourism it needs certain cultural resources. Some of the cultural resources are: sacral monuments like, for example, Parish church of sacred loftiness of st. Cross, Chapel of st. Bernardin and so on; cultural and historical monuments like: The Frankopan castle, monument to king Tomislav, Vitunj fortress and so on; legends about the creation of Klek, the witches of Klek, the cave of Klek and the origins of the name of the Đulin abys. A variety of different manifestations like the children's carneval, county folklore gathering, Ogulin festival of fairytales and many others ought to be mentioned also. Cultural routes of Ogulin are the new tourist product that would include a couple of programs, that is, a fairy tale route with Ogulin connecting to Slavonski Brod, valorisation of traditional legends of Ogulin and linking of Ogulin, that is, The Frankopan castle with the cultural route called „Putovima Frankopana“. This new tourism product would also include recreational offer which would include cycling, climbing Klek and many others. With all the activities tourists would have the opportunity of tasting specialties of Ogulin area. A survey was conducted to examine the perceptions of the local population of the town and the surrounding area, students of Bernardin Frankopan High School and Secondary Vocational School, Ogulin Open University and Ogulin Local Museum about Ogulin cultural tourism.

This paper analyzes the tourism perspective of the City of Sinj, the current state and possible measures that would revitalize the area. The town of Sinj is recognizable as a cultural and religious destination, and the potential exists in the development of rural and sport-recreational tourism. The current results and the quality of the tourism supply are far below the city's potential and the wider environment. The main focus should be on enriching the tourism supply in all segments, especially those that contribute to the extending the tourist season. There is a need for greater promotion, especially those tourist activities that would make Sinj City unique.

Nautical tourism has a relatively short history of development. Nevertheless, today is the one of the most promising and fast-growing tourist products, that dominates in the leading European competing destinations. Its development is based on the existence of concrete comparative advantages, reflected in the natural resourcea and other contents. In Croatia, nautical tourism is recognized as the one of the most strategic tourist products, but the contemporary aspects of its development are neglected. Except the basic constraints relating to infrastructure, finance system and stakeholder integrity, it is important to point on the tourist experience, tourist offer and added valuein tourism.Nautical tourism in Croatia requires investment processes in infrastructure, as well as additional offer, care for sustainable development and the support of information deriving from the research of international trends. One of the possible solutions is to integrate nautical tourism with other selective forms that dominate in the coastal destinations. That could maximize its competitiveness and recognizability in the tourist market.

Tourism, as very complexed phenomena of the world and humankind has several determinants, which define it. The basic determinants of this phenomenon are motion, consumption and tourist evaluation, which is undertaken because of the aforementioned tourist motion. The last decades of the 20th century were marked by intensive growth and dispersion of tourism in all parts of the world and diversifying the various forms of tourism theory treated special, specific, alternative or selective forms of tourism. They occur in the segment of wants and needs more demanding tourist demand, and operate within the tourism offer, in line with the available natural and anthropogenic resources and built tourism infrastructure and superstructure. Rural tourism, as a specific form of tourism, is one of the main factors of development and village revitalization. Thanks to tourism, long-term goals of development can be established. Foundations and organization of rural areas and the creation of socioeconomic and market conditions for accelerated economic and social development of the village can be established. Depopulation can be stopped. Deterioration of the demographic and social structure of rural areas in the region can be reduced. Activation of local resources and raising motivation of rural people to develop and regulate the rural area as a long-term perspective and choice of life and livelihood, as well as the preservation and enhancement of environmental, cultural and other values of rural settlements are all benefits of tourism. The Podravina Region of Croatia, as a unique, ecologically preserved area along the Drava River, has specific advantages for development of ecological tourism. These advantages are shown through the example of the rural household “Zlatni klas” Otrovanec.

West Serbia region, in other words, Mačva, Kolubara, Zlatibor and Morava districts, possess various industrial and especially tourist values and wealth. According to the relatively favorable geographical position and enormous natural and anthropological wealth, we find it possible to develop tourism as priority industrial activity. Tourism in the beginning of 19th century gains new dimensions. Tourist areas on all continents are being opened with rapid growth, this leads to new distribution of tourist circulation and relocation of tourist destinations. Tourism still has characteristics of mass, but more attention is dedicated to selective tourism, smaller volume tourism. Because of the fact that tourism in modern conditions is oriented towards new areas and destinations, importance which tourism can have in the future industrial development of the region becomes obvious. With the selective types of tourism being developed, it is possible to also develop all year tourism in this part of Republic of Serbia. As the most significant selective types of tourism, distributed in areas, which can be developed on the whole territory of the region include next: in the plain area - city, religious, transit, fishing, festival.; in hilly area - rural, health, excursionist, sport and recreational, children and youth; and in the mountain area - winter sport and recreational, health, hunting, adventurous etc. Previously mentioned types of tourism could, with modest investment in relatively short terms give significant economical results. Development of tourism in that way could enable and provide development of other industrial activities like: agriculture, craft, trade and some other branches of manufacturing. The largest integrative relationship can be achieved between tourism and agriculture. As in this region developed extensive agricultural production already exists in smaller or bigger degree, biologically correct and healthy food for the tourist can be provided. Apart from that, agriculture provides constant and additional fulfillment of working positions in tourism, and by activating crafts and handcrafts made of natural materials, non boarding offers can be supplemented. In that way, complementary development of agriculture and tourism might start the development of other industrial activities, so it is quite obvious that their coexistence would give enormous contribution to the industrial development of this region. On the other hand, tourist transition is more and more directed towards ecologically preserved, industrially unproductive, agriculturally-extensive areas, so the region of West Serbia becomes even more interesting for the tourist from all around the world, what indicates multiple growth of foreign tourists transition in the last decade or so. With the development of West Serbia region and all of its potentials, especially tourist, a new chance for the industrial development of the whole country can be provided. That is the reason why all the necessary prerequisites must be provided and created so this region could use its potentials and chances which are not insignificant to finally obtain bigger role in the industrial development of Serbia which it certainly deserves. More important role of West Serbia region, according to this scenario, would be reflected in enhanced tourist transition, consumption, income in foreign currency, gross domestic production, employment etc.

The work aims at helping design and implement a plant tour to provide an additional source of revenue to the city of Labin. There are advantages in addition to generating extra revenue for the manufacturer to conduct tours of their plant ; tours need to be complicated to produce these benefits. This proces requires careful planning. Particular attention must be given to safety and catering of the tour participants. Today's tourists desire to experience the excitement of watching people and machines involved in their lives. Not only just by seeing the manufacturing process but also creating a unique experience that changes the perceptions of the visitor about the project. Companies that provide industrial tours in their facilities try hard to make the time spent during the tour a quality time. Museums are places where people are energized in a whole new way, especially when involved in the research Center tours. In the potential future tours the visitors see how an industry operates, with extensive safety awareness programs, environmental protection best practices and a sparkling-clean, orderly facility. Muzej Labin enhances the experience by enabling visitors to get the feel of the company culture and conscientious workforce. After these industrial tours, not only do visitors know more about the products they use, but they also see more value in the product. Their experience while «touching» the products they use will change their perception of the product for the rest of their lives, they feel more intense, they have experienced the process.

Potencijalni budući izleti omogućit će da posjetitelji vide kako funkcionira industrija, uz opsežne programe sigurnosti i informiranosti, najkvalitenije postupke u zaštiti prirode i besprijekorno čista, uredna postrojenja.

This Montenegrin region has potentials in terms of the coast and sea qualites. However, the coastal region is rich in exceptional cultural and historic values that demand a completely different approach in the making of tourism offer. This is the place where East and West have met and created a new and unique space for coexistence that enriches both the inhabitants of the coast as well as the tourists who come here.If we had to explain what the foundations of the offer of the Montenegrn coast should be in only one sentence, we could say that it should be the unique trinity of natural values, long history and diversity of religions. That presentationshould embrance the folloving: quality, segmentation, differentiation, standardization, selectivity and sustainability.

Stoga, kao prilog razjašnjenju pojma selektivnog turizma kao predmet ovog rada postavljena je analiza i rasprava kako bi se odgovorilo na pitanje je li to bio trnutni hir ili potreba za dubljim znanstvenim istraživanjem turizma., As a term, selective tourism was established in the beginning of 1990's, and it was regularly used by the middle of 2000, but in the recent years it has been used very rarely. However, it was a period characterized by vivid discussions and confrontations and confrontations among respectful tourist scientists on term usage accuracy. Therefore, as a contribution to anatempt to explain the term selective tourism, this paper analysis and discusses this question and tries to solev the dilemma if a selective tourism is a fast fading fad or a neccessity for studying one egment of tourism.

One of major forms of selective tourism is, undoubtedly, health tourism. So far it has been some kind of a privileged form of tourism that only members of higher social strata could afford. This means that a large majority of the population has not been taking part in it. Croatian selective tourism of the 21st century, as a counterbalance to the so far dominating mass tourism, will find a very important strategic orientation for its development in health tourism. This does not refer to only spa tourism but also and primarily to the way of life that involves prevention of diseases, such as healthy food, "ecological" living, recreation and sport, entertainment and culture, and, above all, pleasant life and engaging in activities in a preserved environment. All these elements, forms of a selective, especially health tourism, can be developed in Croatian Istria and should be encouraged.
