【Objective】With the continuous development of the information age, science and technology has become the fundamental driving force for the development of rural industries. In order to further activate the vitality of rural development and promote the integration of three industries in rural areas, it has become a strong support for rural revitalization.【Method】Based on the vector auto regression (VAR) model and relevant data of science and technology and industry in China from 2011 to 2019, the study explores the relationship between the integration of three industries in rural areas and the input of scientific and technological innovation through nine secondary indicators under three first-level indicators corresponding to the output of science and technology, the input of science and technology, and the integration of three industries in rural areas.【Result】Empirical analysis results show that, there is still a lot of room for continuous improvement in the degree of integration of three industries in rural areas. There are dynamic interactions and high correlations among the input intensity of science and technology, the output level of science and technology and the integration of three industries in rural areas in the index systems; the input of science and technology innovation can promote the development of integration of three industries in rural areas, which will increase 0.767% when the output of science and technology is increased by 1% in the current period; the development of integration of three industries in rural areas will promote further investment in science and technology innovation. When the comprehensive score of integration of three industries in rural areas increases by 0.881%, the comprehensive score of science and technology output increases by 1%.【Conclusion】Based on the above conclusions, we should focus on promoting agricultural scientific and technological innovation to overcome technical barriers, support and encourage agricultural scientific research workers to develop products and technological innovation, build a platform for scientific and technological innovation alliances, increase investment in scientific and technological research and development, create an environment for scientific research and innovation, and accelerate the pace of agricultural technological innovation in our country to realize the deep integration between traditional agriculture and high-tech industries.

This paper unravels the critical aspect of science and technology through research and development indicators as sources, drivers, and predictors of economic growth from the perspective of two developing countries, namely: Philippines and Thailand (ASEAN), and two developed economies, namely: Japan and Australia (ASEAN-X) in Asia-Pacific Region. The data set ranges from 1980 to 2019 and is collected from World Development Indicators of the World Bank, Institute for Statistics of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Research and Development (R&D) is a tool for generating new knowledge and serves as input for technological advancement. In the long run, it has been proven that technology can sustain permanent economic development in the economy. In developed economies, the nexus between the aforementioned variables is robust and significant. Thus, the R&D indicators can be used as a predictor of economic growth. However, in developing economies, the nexus of variables involved is negligible and insignificant. Hence, the R&D indicators cannot be effectively utilized as a predictor of economic growth. Furthermore, the study combined the two sets of panel data and a relevant conclusion was drawn. A country-panel regression and causality analysis were performed based on the empirics of macroeconomics.

Abstract: There is close relationship between science & technology inputs and economic growth. Based on the data of science & technology input and economic growth, the paper makes the econometric models analysis on the economic growth and science & technology input of the three major coastal economic regions of China. Facility agriculture, a typical agricultural production management mode, could affect carbon cycle due to its unique production environmental conditions and highly intensive utilization. With the five main sources as accounting objects, including agricultural film investment, energy consumption, pesticide and fertilizer application, CO 2 fertilizer application, and facility soil, we estimated the amount and intensity of carbon emission of three facility agriculture (continuous greenhouse, solar greenhouse, and plastic greenhouse) in 31 provinces in 2018. The results showed that the total carbon emission of facility agriculture in China was 210.3817 million t CO 2 e, with the three facility agriculture types of plastic greenhouse, solar greenhouse, and continuous greenhouse accounting for 60.2%, 37.4% and 2.4%, respectively. Carbon emission of facility agriculture was mainly contributed by soil greenhouse gas, agricultural film and supplies investment. Carbon emission per unit area of continuous greenhouses was significantly lower than that of solar and plastic greenhouses. The scientific capital allocation rate and facility agriculture scale were the two main factors influencing the carbon emission in facility agriculture. Based on all the results, we presented the carbon emission reduction path from the three perspectives of improving the scientific investment, material consumption utilization rate, and facility area utilization rate of facility agriculture.
