This research examines teachers' views on the mentoring roles of school administrators. Since the research was carried out during the pandemic (Covid-19) period, mentoring roles in this process, which was considered as a crisis period, were also tried to be examined. The research was carried out with the phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative research methods. Purposive sampling method, which is among the non-probability sampling methods, was used to determine the study group. The study group consists of 49 teachers studying for a non-thesis master's degree. For the purpose of data collection, five open-ended questions created by the researchers were submitted to expert opinion, a semi-structured interview form was placed and collected by face-to-face interviews. The data obtained was examined using the content analysis method. The findings obtained in the research indicate that school administrators should provide mentoring on all matters related to the school in order to support new teachers and to gain professional development, to increase teacher-parentstudent communication. It has been stated that school administrators are insufficient in mentoring, and the reasons for this are workload, not meeting administrator criteria, lack of communication and lack of personal development. While teachers stated that they received support on issues such as distance education, pandemic crisis management, communication and process management during crisis periods, there were also some who stated that they did not receive any support. It has been stated that mentoring support during the crisis period not only ensures a healthy recovery of the process, increases motivation, but also provides guidance and psychological support. The purpose of this study is to determine the distributed leadership level of school administrators. The study is in the cross-sectional survey model to determine the distributed leadership level of school administrators. The sample of the study consists of 325 school administrators (principals and assistant principals) working in schools in the districts of Konya, Türkiye. In the study, the “Distributed leadership scale” developed by Hairon and Goh (2015) and adapted into Turkish by Akyürek (2022) was used to determine the level of distributed leadership. The results show that distributed leadership perceptions of school administrators were high. Moreover, distributed leadership perceptions of school administrators did not show a significant difference according to gender, age, duty, educational status, seniority of administration and school type variables. In this context, cooperation can be made with all education stakeholders, especially school administrators, and their opinions can be sought in order to carry out distributed leadership in schools more effectively on the basis of authorization, participation and sharing. Background: Principals are key to the promotion of physical activity (PA) in schools. The purpose of this study was to understand how school principals' PA values, behaviors, and individual and school characteristics were associated with the presence of an active school. Methods: A representative sample of 1019 school principals in the United States was surveyed. Survey items addressed principals' values and behaviors associated with PA, individual and school demographic factors, such as years of experience and school level, and a single item asking whether principals perceived their school to be an active school (ie, provides students with opportunities to be physically active before, during, and after the school day). Significant variables from a cross-tabulation and chi-square analysis were added to a hierarchical logistic regression model to assess the predictive properties of principal values and behaviors as they relate to the presence of an active school. Results: Approximately half of principals (47%) reported having an active school. The model significantly predicted the presence of an active school but accounted for only 6.6% of the total variance. Although values toward PA and more frequent personal PA behaviors were associated with the presence of an active school within the cross-tabulation and chi-square analysis, neither variable emerged as a significant predictor in the regression model. Conclusions: Principals' personal PA values and behaviors contribute to the presence of an active school, but other variables, including years of experience and school contextual factors, are more powerful predictors. The study aimed to identify the current status of the application of technological leadership in public education schools in Riyadh region from the perspective of principals, and to detect statistically significant differences between the means of sample individuals' responses regarding the reality of the application of technological leadership in public education schools in Riyadh region in terms of ISTE standards, attributed to variables such as academic qualifications, years of experience, and computer training courses. To achieve these objectives, a sample of (400) female principals of public education schools in Riyadh region was selected, in addition to a sample of (13) information technology experts for the interview. A mixed-method approach was used, and questionnaires and interviews were used to collect data. The study reached the following results: The status of the application of technological leadership in public education schools in Riyadh region in terms of ISTE standards from the perspective of principals was moderate, and it came in first place after visionary leadership with an average score of (2.90), with a moderate degree of agreement. It came in second place after comprehensive improvement, followed by digital citizenship in third place, professional practice excellence in fourth place, and finally digital learning culture in fifth and last place.There are statistically significant differences at a significance level of (α ≤ 0.05) in the responses of the study sample regarding the reality of the application of technological leadership in public education schools in Riyadh region in terms of ISTE standards attributed to the variables of academic qualifications and computer training courses. The aim of this study is to reveal the effect of administrative behaviors, which are considered as an important component of school effectiveness, on the effectiveness of schools. The research is a quantitative study in the relational survey model. The study group of the research consists of 208 teachers working in high schools in Gaziantep province center. In the study, "Personal Introduction Form" was used to determine demographic variables, and " Administrative Behavior Scale" and "Effective School Scale" were used to collect research data. Descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analyses were used to analyze the research data. According to the results of the study, teachers' perceptions of school administrators' administrative behaviors and effective schools are at medium level. According to another research result, there is a positive and moderately significant relationship between the independent variable of administrative behaviors and the dependent variable of effective school. In addition, the perception of administrative behaviors is a significant predictor of the perception of effective school. As a result, determining the effect of administrative behaviors, which are defined as the attitudes exhibited by administrators both in the performance of their duties and in the context of human relations they have established, on the effectiveness of schools will contribute to the studies and schools to be conducted in this field by increasing the quality of individual and organizational outputs. This study examines the effect of school administrators' motivational language use on teachers' perceptions of organizational support and work engagement. The study sample included 394 teachers who were selected using a disproportionate cluster sampling method from primary schools in Gaziantep. The relationships between the variables were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results indicated direct positive relations among the study variables and a partial mediating role of perceived organizational support between motivational language and work engagement. Motivational language used by school administrators significantly predicts teachers' work engagement directly and through perceived organizational support. While the use of motivational language enables teachers to engage more with their work; at the same time, they display more work engagement behaviors with increased perceptions of organizational support. Therefore, school administrators should be encouraged to use motivational language to provide support and improve teacher engagement. Further research could focus on identifying schools where motivational language use and organizational support are not occurring at the desired levels. In this way, with the measures and activities to be taken, teachers' engagement with their work can be increased, and their active participation in school development can be ensured. This study was conducted in order to reveal the level of instructional leadership behavior scores of school administrators working in public secondary schools according to the opinions of teachers and to examine them in terms of various variables. The working group of this research, which was designed in the converging parallel pattern of the mixed method, was formed through easily accessible sampling. 383 teachers in the central districts of Mersin province formed the quantitative data study group and 5 teachers formed the qualitative data study group. The semistructured interview form prepared by the researcher and the "Instructional Leadership Scale" developed by Alig-Meilcarek (2003) and adapted to Turkish by Şahin (2011) were used as data collection tools. Kolmogorov Smirnov test was applied for normality test. Kolmogorov Smirnov value is <.05. Skewness value is between -+ 3 values and the kurtosis value is between +-10 values. Kline (2011) mentioned that normality tests can be performed if the normal distribution has a skewness value of ± 3 and a kurtosis value of ± 10. Since the quantitative data showed a normal distribution, they were analyzed by independent T-test analysis, while the qualitative data were analyzed with the help of content analysis. When the research findings were evaluated, it was found that there was no significant difference between the school administrators' instructional leadership scores according to the gender of the participants. Background: The World Health Organization recommends a whole-ofschool approach to promoting youth physical activity (PA) and there are several examples of this approach internationally. In the United States, the comprehensive school PA program (CSPAP) model serves as the national framework for school-based physical education (PE) and PA. Part of the implementation support structure for a CSPAP is staff involvement. Although there is a growing body of research that examines the CSPAP-related involvement of school staff, few studies have focused on school principals. Principal involvement is critical to the success of school-based PA programming. Investigating principals’ CSPAP involvement is a necessary step toward maximizing efforts to leverage CSPAP implementation. This study drew upon social-ecological and biographical perspectives and used a person-centered analytic approach to investigate principals’ CSPAP involvement. Purpose: Building on recent research using a variable-centered approach to examine school principals’ CSPAP involvement in the U.S., the purpose of this study was to examine distinct profiles among these same principals in terms of their CSPAP involvement, social-ecological based perceptions of CSPAPs, and satisfaction with personal experiences in K-12 PE. Methods: Stratified random sampling was used to recruit a national sample of 2941 public school principals in the U.S. for participation in an electronic survey that measured CSPAP involvement, socialecological perceptions (intrapersonal, interpersonal, and environmental), PE satisfaction, and several demographic, background, and school context variables. A total of 291 principals completed the survey. Only data from respondents who indicated their school has a CSPAP (N = 198) were used for this study. Data analysis involved principal component analysis and latent profile analysis. Results: All PE satisfaction items were found to be good measures with factor loadings ranging from .879 to .962 and a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of .932 (previous research provided validity and reliability evidence for the CSPAP involvement and social-ecological measures contained in the survey.) The optimal latent profile model included four profiles, which were labeled Average (average scores for all three social ecological factors), Above Average (above average scores for all three social-ecological factors), Below Average (below average scores for all three social-ecological factors), and Low-Interpersonal (high scores for the intrapersonal and environmental factors and low scores on the interpersonal factor). Latent profiles did not vary significantly on any measured demographic, background, or school context variables. The Kruskal–Wallis test yielded significant differences across the four latent profiles on both PE satisfaction (H(3)= 24.527, p < .001) and CSPAP involvement (H(3)= 34.469, p < .001). Conclusion: This study supports the idea that there are distinct groups of principals, based on intrapersonal, interpersonal, and environmental perceptions regarding CSPAP implementation. Additionally, PE satisfaction was an important predictor of latent class membership, which in turn predicted principals’ CSPAP involvement. Future interventions to increase principals’ CSPAP involvement can incorporate the results of this study to design tailored professional trainings that target appropriate levels of social-ecological influence. Further, even though previous experiences with PE cannot be changed, helping principals understand the value of quality PE programs to whole-child learning and development may be worth exploring as a strategy to bolster CSPAP implementation efforts. The concept of sustainable development is defined as a form of development that aims to meet the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations. The increasing importance of sustainable development is beginning to show itself in the education curriculum. One of the most important goals pointed out by UNESCO, it is important that school administrators, who are the most important actors of education, have educational knowledge, skills and attitudes for sustainable development. In this research, it is aimed to evaluate the opinions of school administrators in vocational high schools on sustainable development goals and to determine the deficiencies in this subject and to contribute in this direction by collecting the necessary data for taking the right steps. Qualitative research methods were applied in the research, and 15 school administrators working in Northern Cyprus vocational high schools participated in the research. The semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher was used for data collection. The data obtained in the research were analyzed with the content analysis method. As a result of the research, it is seen that school administrators have knowledge about sustainable development. Among the opinions of school administrators who put forward their views on the 17th article of sustainable development, providing equal rights to the society, providing economic contributions, providing access to clean water and energy, recycling, ensuring the sustainability of agricultural development, and cooperation with stakeholders come to the fore. This paper seeks to examine the views and experiences of school administrators about the emotional labor that they exhibit in the school environment. The study group consists of a total of 30 school administrators. The qualitative method was used and a basic qualitative research design was adopted. The data were gathered through a semi-structured interview form and analyzed through content analysis. The results showed that there were feeling rules in school administration, and the emotions of school administrators are shaped mainly by informal rules such as personal characteristics and professional ethics rather than formal rules. It was determined that school administrators do not reflect their negative feelings, such as anger, sadness, and fear in the school environment and act to display the appropriate emotion (surface acting). In addition, it was understood that as a requirement of being an administrator, they force themselves to feel certain emotions to treat everyone equally and create a positive school climate (deep acting). School administrators indicated that the effort to manage their emotions in their relations with people in the school environment caused negative results such as burnout, weariness, unhappiness, stress, tension, nervousness, headache, regret, insomnia, tension, and restlessness. On the other hand, school administrators expressed that exhibiting emotional labor also had positive results. These include positive communication and school climate, happiness, psychological relaxation, getting to know people better, success, gaining people's trust, being more cautious and foresighted, being accepted, mature and the feeling of being a good person. Regarding the results, the concept of emotional labor and related skills can be integrated to the pre-service and inservice training of school administrators. School leaders play a pivotal role in fostering change and improvement, including via teacher-led interventions, such as co-teaching. Leaders' vision and support create the conditions for teachers to maximize the effectiveness of school interventions. However, there is limited understanding of how school leaders provide support for the intervention of co-teaching. This gap in knowledge is crucial because co-teaching has the potential to be transformative, but teachers must actively drive pedagogical changes. We conducted a mixed-methods study involving 150 Norwegian elementary schools participating in a multi-year co-teaching initiative for literacy instruction. We collected data through open and closed survey questions, inquiring about school leaders' beliefs and support practices regarding co-teaching. Our descriptive analysis examined school leaders' practices and explored potential associations with their epistemological perspectives. Our findings indicate that leaders who approach co-teaching with cautious optimism tend to provide more thoughtful support compared to those who are overly optimistic and may underestimate implementation challenges. Moreover, most leaders prioritize structural support elements while potentially overlooking psychological and emotional support practices aligned with self-determination theory (SDT). We conclude with practical recommendations for school leaders to offer support to teachers that are grounded in the principles of SDT and organized according to implementation phases. The purpose of this research is to examine the opnions of teachers and school administrators regarding the Regulation of Teaching Career Steps published by the Ministry of Education. The study group of the research, designed within the framework of the phenomenology research model, one of the qualitative research approachess, consists of a total of 17 participants, taking into account the criterion of having worked as a teacher for ten years or as a specialist teacher for ten years in one of the provinces in the Southeastern Anatolia Region in the 2022-2023 Academic year. Research data were collected through face to face semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers. In the analysis of the research data, content analysis was used. Research findings have reached conclusions such as that teaching career steps are insufficient in terms of developing teachers economic, social and personal rights, don't contribute to Professional development, applications are insufficient, the exam is simple, applications will create duality and cause differences among teachers, it shows that the regulation of teaching career steps should be redesigned and solution proposals should be developed to make teachers economic, social and personal rights more comprehensive. Bu araştırmada, sosyal mesafe ve okul iklimi olguları ele alınmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı, öğretmenler arası sosyal mesafenin nedenlerini ve sosyal mesafenin okul iklimine yansımalarını belirleyerek, sosyal mesafenin azaltılmasına katkı sağlayacak öneriler geliştirmektir. Araştırma, 2021-2022 öğretim yılında Düzce ili merkez ve ilçelerinde bulunan okullarda görev yapan yedi öğretmen ve beş okul yöneticisi ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırma, nitel araştırma desenlerinden biri olan olgubilim deseni şeklinde tasarlanmıştır. Katılımcılar, amaçlı örneklem yöntemlerinden ölçüt örneklem yöntemi ile seçilmiştir. Araştırma verileri, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde içerik analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, öğretmenler arası sosyal mesafenin; öğretmenlerin kendisinden, okul idaresinden, öğretmen sayısının fazlalığından ve sözleşmeli, ücretli, kadrolu gibi ayrımlardan kaynaklı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Okul büyüklüğünün, öğretmenler arasındaki sosyal mesafe üzerinde etkili olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca, COVID-19 salgınının da öğretmenler arasındaki sosyal mesafeyi olumsuz etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmenler arası sosyal mesafenin; okulda huzursuz bir ortam oluşmasına, eğitimin kalitesinin düşmesine, öğretmenlerde motivasyon kaybına, öğretmenler arasında iletişimsizliğe, çatışmaların yaşanmasına, önyargılı davranışların oluşmasına, gruplaşmaların oluşmasına, güven ortamının kaybolmasına neden olarak okul iklimine olumsuz yansımalarının olduğu tespit edilmiştir. The aim of the research is to reveal the experiences of teachers who left the school administration and return to the teaching profession, and the advantages and disadvantages of this situation, which caused them to leave the school administration. The data of the study, which was conducted with the phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research methods, were obtained by using a semi-structured interview form. Through criterion sampling, 19 teachers who previously worked as administrators in Siirt city center and returned to teaching were interviewed. The data obtained from the interviews were coded and content analysis was carried out under the themes. The majority of the managers participating in the research are male managers. The majority of those who left the management stated that the administrative work and transactions are intense and the administrative paperwork is excessive. At the same time, family-based reasons as an external factor and workload as an internal factor are effective in quitting management; They stated that they had difficulties in getting teachers and other personnel to work in terms of their relations with teachers, that they had little and could not use their leave, and that they had long working hours. He also stated that they experience mental and emotional exhaustion in management, and that although the majority of the participants express that returning to teaching is a gain, they will return to management in the following years or if the job description of the manager is made. In this sense, it is noteworthy in terms of research that the reasons for leaving the management and the lack of a full management job description are more dominant. The aim of this study is to determine the research trends of the graduate theses prepared in the field of school management between the years 2018-2022. For this purpose, theses; publication year, method, data collection tools, sample characteristics, data analysis techniques and subject areas. The study was designed according to the qualitative research model. Graduate theses prepared in the field of school management were examined with the document review method. The theses examined in the study were obtained as a result of the searches made in the database of YÖK National Thesis Center. A total of 199 theses were included in the research, since 94 of the 293 theses with access permission were out of context. The "Thesis Classification Form" was used for the analysis of the postgraduate theses, and content analysis was carried out in the analysis of the obtained data. In the evaluation of the data, descriptive statistics such as percentage and frequency were used by using the SPSS 22 package program. According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, it was determined that the majority of the postgraduate theses on school management were master's thesis and were mostly prepared in 2019. It has been seen that the most suitable sample size is between 301-1000, and the most appropriate sample size is the teachers and administrators. Questionnaire-scale and semi-structured interview form were used the most among the data collection tools; It was determined that percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t test, Anova and correlation analysis techniques were the most used data analysis techniques. Along with the subject of school management, demographic characteristics, leadership style, managerial competencies and management processes were determined to be the most studied subjects. According to the findings obtained from the research; It has been concluded that more and more comprehensive studies are needed in the field of school management, that qualitative and mixed research methods should be used more in research, and that unique subjects that have not been studied before should be emphasized in research. This study aims to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine teacher perceptions of unethical pro-organizational behavior of school administrators. School Administrators' Unethical Pro-Organizational Behavior Scale (SAUPBS), which was created as a result of the literature review and the opinions of field experts, is of the 5-point Likert type. Exploratory Factor Analysis (AFA) was performed to test the construct validity of the scale and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (DFA) was performed to test the validity of the structure formed by the resulting sub-dimensions. As a result of AFA, a measurement tool consisting of 21 items and 3 dimensions was obtained. The first sub-dimension of the scale is named "image", the second subdimension is called "finance" and the third sub-dimension is called "learning climate". On the scale, it was determined that there were three factors with an initial eigenvalue above 1, and the contribution of these three factors to variance was 65.47% in total. The DFA result was χ2/sd = 2.25, RMSEA= .067, RMR= .034, SRMR= .064 and CFI= .89. All compliance indices are acceptable. Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient; α = .975 for the scale whole, α = .945 for the image subdimension, α = .939 for the finance sub-dimension and α = .88 for the learning climate subdimension.
