The article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the global helium industry. The areas of efficient use of associated components in natural gas production are an integral part of the technological economy. The article discusses the current state of the world production and consumption of helium. Russia possesses the largest reserves of helium in the world, most of which are concentrated in the fields of Eastern Siberia and the Far East. Russia can become the main producer and supplier of helium to the world market. The paper also analyzes the current state of the production and consumption of helium in the world with the identification of the main helium producers (USA, Qatar, and Algeria). The main factors influencing the production and consumption of helium have been determined. The authors have constructed a forecast for the production and consumption of helium in the world until 2040 according to three scenarios. An assessment was made of the possibility of transporting helium from Russia to the world market until 2040. In addition, the authors considered options for creating storage facilities for helium concentrate on the territory of Eastern Siberia.

- Abstract
Cash management optimization is one of the most essential tasks for any bank, because it helps save a significant amount of money by reducing the cost of ATMs funding and encashment. This paper focuses on forecasting customer cash demand, which is one of the key components of the optimization system. Furthermore, for the first time, our research touches on the problem of nonstationarity, which is typical for real-world ATM data, and proposes a data preprocessing pipeline to tackle it. We proposed new forecasting methods in the paradigms of local and global models, proved their superiority over classical approaches to forecasting time series and approaches used specifically for the cash demand forecasting problem. SORBENTS ,SYNTHETIC lubricants ,PETROLEUM - Abstract
This article starts with an overview of available reports on the effectiveness estimation and implementation of oil sorbents. Given the lack of generalized or systematized requirements for oil sorbents and the paucity of reliable data on the Russian sorbent market, and bearing in mind the existing formulas for effectiveness evaluation that require a large set of sorbent data unavailable from public sources, proper estimation of sorbent effectiveness has been a challenging problem. The paper further analyzes the Russian sorbent market and in particular the market shares of the major manufacturers and supplier countries. The main characteristics of sorbents—divided into categories and groups according to the type of materials—were summarized. The existing sorbent effectiveness factors were discussed, with a focus on the limited applicability of the respective evaluation formulas. To overcome the challenges, we identified major stages of the sorbent life cycle and proposed a new system of factors that provides an integrated estimation of sorbent effectiveness, including that in each individual stage and overall estimates. A simplified formula was proposed to calculate a unified effectiveness factor using a minimized range of sorbent characteristics available from public reports. The effects of sorbent characteristics on the effectiveness factors were assessed. Based on a relative effectiveness factor proposed, we compared a variety of organic, inorganic, and synthetic oil sorbents and identified the most effective and the least effective categories. The most effective brands were also indicated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Relevance. A possible scenario of state self-isolation during an emergency actualizes interest in the study of foreign trade turnover of food calories as a factor of national security.Methods. The article considers issues of caloric value of export and import of the Russian food market for period 1998-2017.Results. The study was based on some hypothesis that the calorie content of exported grain was higher than a import of low-calorie foods like vegetables, fruits, and dairy products. The testing this hypothesis showed a sixfold excess of food calorie content of export over import and h a seven-fold cheapness of exported calories over imported ones. It was revealed that exports was represented by plant calories (grain), and import was represented by animal calories (dairy products). It was proposed to freeze the export of plant calories into emergency period and redirecting to development of domestic animal calories.

Biofuel is one of the world’s major alternative sources of energy derived from biomass which includes almost all organic substances. In this regard, the state and prospects of development of the world bioenergy have been considered. The positive and negative sides of increasing energy production from biomass have been revealed. The analysis of the countries with the greatest biological resources for the production of liquid and gaseous biofuels has been carried out. The leading countries in the production of various types of biofuels have been determined and the measures of state support, contributing to the development of this direction, have been analyzed. The state and prospects of bioenergy development in Russia have been considered. The export potential of the country in the field of biofuel production and its use in industry has been revealed. It has been established, that despite some successes in the use of biofuel, the development of bioenergy projects in Russia still leaves much to be desired. The reasons, hindering the development of bioenergy in Russia, and measures to stimulate the development of biofuel production have been identified. In this regard, a flexible policy of the state in terms of innovation and energy is necessary, while today the state is focused on traditional energy sources.

Over the past two decades, there has been an exponential growth of the international art market. And the growth of the art market means an increase in the capacity of the art insurance market. The level of activity in the art market directly affects the number of new insurance contracts. Crashes in the markets of precious metals and oil, sanctions, a pandemic - all this makes us think about finding new ways to save capital. And one of the features of the art market is just a weak correlation with other financial markets.,

The aim of this study is to analyze the character of the financial market’s response to information on innovative investments made by Russian companies. The key objective of investments is to create value, so the research question is whether investors perceive value creation from innovative investments. This problem has an increasing importance during crisis period. Managers should maximize value for their shareholders, but due to the rationing of capital, they need signals regarding which types of innovations are able to create value. These signals are provided by the market: if share prices are going up after the announcement on innovation-based investment, it can mean that investors believe that this new product, technology or service is valuable and promising. Though the Russian market is the focus of this study, the problem has a broader importance. In theory, innovation is considered to be one of the most important drivers for companies' development and competiveness; nevertheless, many researchers, analysts and managers fear that firms do not invest enough in innovation. Some critics assert that an earnings-focused, short-term orientation on stock prices may decrease the amount of investments in innovation that typically have a long payback period and bear high risks. However, accurately assessing market returns may be critical to understanding how markets respond to innovation and motivate firms to invest in innovation. Using event study, we tested the sample of 149 announcements on companies’ investments in innovation projects. The data sample consists of announcements of companies traded on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange between 2008 and 2013. To reveal differences in reaction to special types of innovation, a regression analysis was implemented. The main finding of the study is that the cumulative average abnormal returns to all announcements in the sample are positive. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper describes the Baltic ports in the process of adoption to a changing environment. The EU is Russia's most important trading partner by far, accounting for 50% of its overall trade in 2010. This relation will continue to strengthen due to Russia's recent accession to the WTO (since December 2011). This paper aims to analyse the present economic situation in the ports on the East coast of the Baltic Sea with a qualitative analysis of their hinterlands. Since the ports on the East coast of Baltic basin are in a very competitive environment, it is interesting to investigate how they succeed in the attraction of Russian and Eastern European cargo.

The application of effective methods for forecasting of the bankruptcy of industrial companies is always an urgent task for businesses, especially at the present stage which is characterized by an extremely high uncertainty. The paper presents the main techniques of bankruptcy modelling used in the world’s practice: logit, probit and MDA-models, as well as the special private methods developed on their basis. These tools constitute the methodological foundation of our research. To assess the practical applicability of these methods to the contemporary Russian market, two sectorial companies (bankrupt and nonbankrupt) are selected as the object of study. A feature of the research is the use of financial statements of companies developed according to Russian and international standards. In the course of the calculations, we apply external and internal restrictions related to the key rate, credit history characteristics, age and regional affiliation of companies. Based on the dynamic assessment, we draw conclusions about the practical applicability and inapplicability of certain forecast models for the Russian economy. We investigate the relationship between the assessment results and the type of source data used. Research veracity is confirmed using generally recognized models and methods, as well as the practical implementation of the results obtained. We can recommend to use these results for improving the existing models for predicting bankruptcy and developing new ones, as well as for owners and investors of companies who need to make strategic decisions. Heilongjiang has a unique geographical advantage in cross-border e-commerce with Russia. However, the training of cross-border e-commerce talents can not meet the rapid development of cross-border e-commerce. Therefore, in terms of cross-border e-commerce talents training, we should train a large number of cross-border e-commerce talents with the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship according to the actual demand of cross-border e-commerce enterprises. Therefore, this paper puts forward that higher vocational colleges should establish cooperation among school, Enterprise, bank and training, establish “Cooperation between school and enterprise + order-type” training, promote learning by competition, suggestions such as strengthening the construction of teaching staff for cross-border e-commerce between Heilongjiang and Russia in the border areas of Heilongjiang were put forward to construct a new talent training model, with a view to providing talent support for the rapid development of the cross-border e-commerce industry between Russia and Russia.

Since 1955, when new China began to reconstruct its automotive industry, and for a long time after, Chinese car exports consisted mainly of commercial automobile products (chassis and finished vehicles, etc.) which were exported in small quantities by state-owned manufacturers. Since 2000, however, with the emergence of independent automobile manufacturers, the number of vehicles exported has increased rapidly, and the makeup of exports has shifted gradually from a focus on commercial vehicles to a focus on passenger vehicles. With regard to overseas expansion, manufacturers’ market access strategy has led to the rapid transition from parts trade to local knock-down manufacturing. However, despite the rapid progress of foreign expansion, problems have arisen due to insufficient risk management know-how with regard to foreign expansion on the part of independent Chinese manufacturers, and the fact that their experience acquired from domestic markets is not applicable to overseas markets. For these reasons, following a period of prosperous overseas expansion, some Chinese automobile manufacturers have been forced to withdraw from one market or have chosen to switch to another market. This entire process, from rapid prosperity to quick decline in Chinese automobile exports, is dramatically observed in the case of their overseas operations in the Russian market. This paper, then, focuses on the burst of growth in Chinese automobile exports around the year 2000, taking the Russian market (the most significant case with regard to the characteristics mentioned above) as a case study to analyse both the domestic and external reasons for this surge, and to investigate the mistakes in manufacturers’ overseas expansion strategies which led Chinese automobile exports from rapid prosperity to quick decline.

Lithuanian manufacturing companies pursue internationalization in various foreign markets. Nevertheless, problem analysis demonstrates that Russian remains one of the most important countries concerning the internationalization of Lithuanian manufacturing firms. The results of the previous studies confirm that political barriers are critical concerning the outcome of internationalization, although most research in this field does not investigate the Russian market, making an impact of the Russian political environment on Lithuanian manufacturing companies present in this market not well discovered. Consequently, there is a need to find out what are the solutions to political barriers to internationalization experienced by Lithuanian manufacturing companies operating in the Russian market?, Lietuvos gamybinės įmonės vysto internacionalizaciją įvairiose užsienio rinkose, tačiau probleminė analizė parodė, jog Rusijos rinka išlieka nepaprastai svarbia ir aktualia.

The article addresses the issue of the business climate in Russia from the Swedish investors' perspective and relates it to a general theoretical debate in the field. Statistical test suggests that the majority of variables relating to the business climate has deteriorated between 2012 and 2014. The findings support several mainstream theories regarding the business climate but also demonstrate some contradictions that would require further investigation. These include the reaction of Swedish business to the escalation of political tensions between Russia and the West and the factor of corruption, which is not viewed as serious enough to fully discourage foreign investors from staying in Russia. In the past few decades, the concept of "sharing economy" has become widespread in the world, which, for various social and economic reasons, as well as with the emergence of a parallel virtual world of information technology, has resulted in a shift in focus in the middle class of developed countries from the concept of "ownership of things" to "use of infrastructure". This concept has shown particularly strong growth in real estate and car sharing. Short-term car rental services were very much in tune with the plans of most governments to create new alternative options for urban transport, which further spurred its development through the provision of numerous subsidies and other forms of state support. This work was devoted to the study of the current state of the carsharing market in Russia and the place on it quite exotic for the domestic car market product-electric vehicles. The carsharing market in Russia is still very young and is at the stage of formation, although at its final stage. The main distinctive features of the Russian market are identified,as well as the main barriers and positive changes in the way of distribution in these services of electric vehicles.,

The article uses a standard methodology for description of industries and econometric models for sales forecasts and analysis. The article's main benefit for Central and Eastern European managers is its concise and up-to-date description of the both sectors of the Russian economy, which is not easily accessible for foreigners due to language barriers and marketing agency fees. The development of technologies made the world “smaller” fostering the emergence of connections between all parts of the world. Under such conditions companies tend to evolve into internationalization process expanding to different markets, pushed by various goals and motives. International business and management have been trying to develop ideal framework allowing companies avoid risks and implement the most appropriative entry strategy. Among the most popular perspectives we can highlight the Resource based view, Transaction costs view, Institutional view, Uppsala model, among others. The work is based on the case study of CERAMIFOR company, which is Portuguese producer of heat treatment equipment. The company has a large experience of world activity and is now interested in expanding into the Russian market to widen customers’ base and improve performance. Careful analysis of the Russian environment allowed to identify trends of the country’s economy movement, crucial points in political and cultural life. According to collected information specific characteristics of the negotiation with Russian community were declared. Customers’ database including most of companies from ceramic industry was organized. Concluding, results from joint theoretical approaches and the market analysis led to suggestions for CERAMIFOR potential entry strategy, which we think should focus on Export.

Little research look at failures of international projects, especially over a period of several years, from the original decision to country departure, after a two years’ presence. Based on analysis of the existing literature on company internationalization and intercultural management, we examine the Russian deployment of a middle-size automotive subcontractor, for whom the project was strategic. Our aim is to identify, understand and evaluate the impact of the different factors, which led to the failure, using interviews of the Western and Russian participants, documents issued during the preparation phase, as well as interviews of managers of automotive companies well established in Russia. We show that despite strong personal investment, the team was not able to respond to the numerous constraints of the Russian market because of a lack of efficient cooperation with their Russian colleagues and partners.

Europe is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, in which tourism occupies a significant place among the most relevant economic activities, and this applies to the Republic of Croatia as well. Based on this study, the authors intended to encourage and support the creation of an effective tourism policy in Croatia that would be based on the profiling of certain target groups. Another objective was to compare the results obtained from the customer analysis with the market analysis of the tourism industry in Croatia. The objective is to adapt the current tourist offer according to the identified needs and expectations of a particular tourist group in order to increase the attractiveness of Croatia as a tourist destination and motivate greater attendance of the targeted tourist groups. The current research was oriented towards the Russian market as the target group. Therefore, the authors wanted to encourage a discussion on how to attract more Russian guests. Consequently, the intention of the research was a detailed analysis of Russian tourists, in order to gain a better understanding of their travelling motives and tendencies. Furthermore, attention was paid to the expectations of Russian customers and to compare them with the Croatian tourist offer, and to determine whether there is a possibility for an overlap. The method used to obtain the information required was a survey conducted among Russian citizens about their travelling habits. The research was carried out on the basis of 166 participants of different age, gender, profession and income group. The sampling and distribution of the survey took place between May and July 2016. The results provided from the research indicate that Croatian tourism has certain unrealized potential considering the popularization of Croatia as a tourist destination, and there is a capacity for increasing the revenues within the group of Russian tourists. Such a conclusion is based on the fact that the Croatian tourist offer and the preferences of the Russian guests are compatible, i.e. they overlap in many aspects. The results demonstrate that beautiful nature, cultural and historical heritage as well as the sun and sea, play a leading role in attracting more Russian tourists. It is precisely these elements that form the three pillars of the Croatian tourist offer. On the other hand, the profiling revealed that the most desirable destinations for the Russian guests are Italy and Spain, both of which provide the same main tourist attractions as Croatia. Therefore, the focus of the strategic ideas given in the paper shifted to other tourism segments, such as type of accommodation, sales channels, travel motives, additional offer and seasonality etc., in order to gain advantage in the Russian market, the Mediterranean region and tourism in general. The purpose of the research is to serve as a foundation for analysing the attractiveness of the other tourist destinations in the Russian market, as well as to be a general basis for a more detailed profiling of the various specific target groups of the Russian and other tourist groups., {"references":["World Tourism Organization, UNWTO Tourism highlights, Madrid: World Tourism Organization, 2015, pp. 4–15.","Institute for Tourism, Croatian tourism in figures 2014, Zagreb: Ministry of Tourism, 2015, pp. 18–38.","Croatian Tourist Board, Rusija – profil emitivnog tržišta 2013.-2015., Zagreb: Croatian Tourist Board, 2015, pp. 2–10.","Government of the Republic of Croatia, Strategija razvoja turizma Republike Hrvatske do 2020. godine, Zagreb: Government of the Republic of Croatia, Feb 2013, pp. 25–66.","G.
