Competitive sport involves physical and psychological stressors, such as training load and stress perceptions, that athletes must adapt to in order to maintain health and performance. Psychological resilience, one's capacity to equilibrate or adapt affective and behavioral responses to adverse physical or emotional experiences, is an important topic in athlete training and performance. The study purpose was to investigate associations of training load and perceived sport stress with athlete psychological resilience trajectories. Sixty-one collegiate club athletes (30 females and 31 males) completed self-reported surveys over 6 weeks of training. Athletes significantly differed in resilience at the beginning of competitive training. Baseline resilience differences were associated with resilience trajectories. Perceived stress and training load were negatively associated with resilience. Physical and psychological stressors had a small but statistically significant impact on resilience across weeks of competitive training, indicating that both types of stressors should be monitored to maintain athlete resilience. Introduction: Resilience is the dynamic adaptive process of maintaining or recovering mental health from stressors, such as trauma, challenging life circumstances, critical transitions, or physical illnesses. Resilience after adversity can be fostered through protective factors and the implementation of interventions that promote resilience. Hence, it is essential to investigate both protective and vulnerable factors to reduce the negative effects of unfavorable life events and increase resilience through positive risk-response interventions. Objective: To assess the effect of previous adversity, protecting factors, and resilience-promoting interventions to possess resilience after adversity in a global context. Methods: The study included English language articles sourced from PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Sciences, the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Scopus, and Google Scholar published before 15 April 2024. These articles reported the effect of adversity, protecting factors, and/or resilience-promoting interventions to possess resilience after adversity in a global context without a population age limitation. The quality of the included studies was assessed using the Assessment of Multiple Systematic Reviews. A weighted inverse-variance random-effects model was applied to find the pooled estimates. The subgroup analysis, heterogeneity, publication bias, and sensitivity analysis were also assessed. Results: A total of 44 articles (n = 556,920 participants) were included in this umbrella review. From the random-effects model analysis, the pooled effect of adversity on the development of resilience was 0.25 (p < 0.001). The pooled effects of adversity-protective factors and resilience-promoting interventions after adversity were 0.31 (p < 0.001) and 0.42 (p < 0.001), respectively. The pooled effects of specific adversity protective factors were 0.26, 0.09, 0.05, 0.34, 0.23, and 0.43 for the availability of support, cognitive ability, community cohesion, positive self-perception, religious involvement, and self-regulation, respectively. The pooled effects of specific resilience-promoting interventions were 0.30, 0.21, 0.51, and 0.52 for cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) interventions, mindfulness-based interventions, mixed interventions, and resilience-promoting interventions, respectively. Conclusion: The findings of this umbrella review revealed that people who experienced early adversity can develop resilience later in life. The study highlights the need to consider adversity protective factors, such as availability of support (family, friends, and school), cognitive ability, community cohesion, positive self-perception, religious involvement, and self-regulation, and resilience-promoting interventions, including CBT interventions, mindfulness-based interventions, and mixed interventions, to enhance resilience promotion programs. Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a rare, genetic neurodegenerative disorder caused by insufficient production of survival motor neuron (SMN) protein. Diminished SMN protein levels lead to motor neuron loss, causing muscle atrophy and weakness that impairs daily functioning and reduces quality of life. SMN upregulators offer clinical improvements and increased survival in SMA patients, although significant unmet needs remain. Myostatin, a TGF-β superfamily signaling molecule that binds to the activin II receptor, negatively regulates muscle growth; myostatin inhibition is a promising therapeutic strategy for enhancing muscle. Combining myostatin inhibition with SMN upregulation, a comprehensive therapeutic strategy targeting the whole motor unit, offers promise in SMA. Taldefgrobep alfa is a novel, fully human recombinant protein that selectively binds to myostatin and competitively inhibits other ligands that signal through the activin II receptor. Given a robust scientific and clinical rationale and the favorable safety profile of taldefgrobep in patients with neuromuscular disease, the RESILIENT phase 3, randomized, placebo-controlled trial is investigating taldefgrobep as an adjunct to SMN upregulators in SMA (NCT05337553). This study explores how students in three African universities ensured resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic and what support initiatives were put in place by these universities to ensure students' resilience during this pedagogical shift. A lack of student support results in a high dropout rate and a lack of academic throughput. This study was conducted to evaluate student-support initiatives to establish the extent to which they enhanced student resilience in three African universities. With regards to a theoretical framework, Kolb's learning theory was used. The study used a qualitative approach with a case-study design. The interpretive paradigm was used. Purposive sampling was used to select six lecturers and six student-support practitioners from each university to make a total sample of twelve participants per participating institution. The major findings revealed that student-support initiatives played a significant role in ensuring students were resilient during Covid-19. The study concluded that there was a misalignment of psychosocial and academic student support, which does not built student resilience. The study recommends that student-support initiatives be reviewed and aligned with the current trends in higher education and the actual challenges students face to help students build resilience with a view to adapting and growing academically, emotionally and socially. Urban faces numerous challenges around the world due to its complexity, rapid urbanization, and diverse urban contexts. Bekasi City facing flood many years as an impact this problem. In early 2020, flooding points in Bekasi City reached 58 points with an area of around 15.37 ha or 73% of the city area with a depth of 1-4 meters. Looking at its history, the longer the flooding, the wider and depth. In 2005 the inundation area ranged from 164 ha, then in 2018, the inundation area increased to 12353 ha. The funds spent on flood management almost one-third of regional budget. The question that should be asked is why flooding still occurs, even though the efforts that have been made are not small. The social, economic and environmental impacts of flooding are significant. If it continues uncontrol, it is feared that the sustainability of Bekasi City is threatened. Therefore, a big picture of the current flood control system in Bekasi City is needed. This study identified that the critical gap in urban environmental risk management strategies in Bekasi City, Indonesia, is the necessity of incorporating community participation and non-structural measures to establish flood-resilient communities and mitigate risk. The promotion of community resilience is a multifaceted process that warrants further exploration. This article aims to contribute to this literature stream by assessing the role of citizen science (CS) approaches in the development of community resilience, since CS is considered a promising approach for generating new knowledge by fostering the participation of citizens (non-professional scientists) in research activities. The results show that CS approaches can contribute to community resilience at the institutional level, improving emergency and recovery planning capacity; at the infrastructural level, by contributing to land use planning and urban design; and at the social level, through the creation of community ties and social capital. Semi-bent functions are Boolean functions with almost optimal nonlinearity, and the number of input variables can be either even or odd. Semi-bent functions are widely used in the design of symmetric cryptographic systems and CDMA communication systems. In this paper, we provide two classes of construction methods to obtain semi-bent functions. Different from previous method usually used, our constructions are based on the disjoint linear codes. The existence of nonzero fast points and linear structures reflects the properties of Boolean function's higher order derivatives, which is closely related to many cryptographic differential attacks. Rotation symmetric Boolean functions (RSBFs) is a super-class of symmetric functions, which are used widely in cryptography. We first obtain some existence results of nonzero linear structures of n-variable RSBFs with degree n - 2 . Moreover, we determine all the possible sets of fast points of n-variable RSBFs with degrees n - 3 and n - 4 based on integer partition. This article discusses the finite‐time H∞$$ {H}_{\infty } $$ control problem for a type of discrete‐time semi‐Markov jump systems (SMJSs) with partial unavailable information. A mode‐dependent resilient state feedback control strategy and the incomplete semi‐Markov kernel (SMK) method are applied to stabilize the obtained closed‐loop systems to protect against additive disturbances that can easily occur in the controller. By considering the upper and lower thresholds of sojourn time for each mode, the number of jumps of SMJSs is effectively estimated and new finite‐time bounded related criteria are established, which cover the general case of some previous studies and are more practical in depicting systems. Besides, the H∞$$ {H}_{\infty } $$ performance is further discussed and optimization problems are presented to achieve better closed‐loop performance. There are challenges to community-based tourism (CBT) post-COVID-19, and some health measures still need to be taken to prevent the risk of people spreading the disease and remaining safe from infection. It is especially important for those in rural areas, who may have limited access to healthcare and other resources, and certain health measures can be taken to protect themselves and others. Nineteen tourism community cases from rural Ayutthaya were selected for study since their CBT recovered faster from the pandemic than in other provinces. Data were recorded and collected on the physical and actual conditions of the properties surveyed. Principal component analysis was then implemented to the dataset to clarify the major spatial management attributes contributing to decisions on the operation of the tourism community during a crisis. The study results revealed that multi-center tourism communities with several activity bases were more able to fully operate and quickly return to tourism. This pattern of community spatiality is a key factor in promoting resilience in the tourism community during and after the pandemic. This paper presents a pioneering systematic literature review (SLR) that scrutinizes the increasingly pivotal role of resilience in manufacturing strategy (MS), a perspective notably absents in previous literature. In the wake of disruptive events, our study provides an exhaustive analysis of resilience within MS, employing a meticulous multi-stage process encompassing article collection, critical evaluation, and both bibliometric and content analyses. Utilizing Atlas.ti © for an enhanced analytical depth, the study distinctly maps current trends and pinpoints previously unexplored gaps in this research area. Post-2020, a surge in academic focus on MS and resilience is evident, and our analysis brings forth critical research domains such as the formulation of theoretical resilience frameworks and the refinement of strategic resilience in manufacturing. The study accentuates the necessity of agility and responsiveness in manufacturing, emphasizing the integration of uncertainty into decision-making processes. It also highlights the instrumental role of technological innovation, particularly the adoption of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies, in reinforcing resilience. Through a detailed content analysis, our research systematically categorizes findings into approaches to resilience, resilience components, and MS resilience. Urban agriculture (UA) can be deployed as a strategy to ensure sustainability in pursuit of building a resilient city. The objective of this study is to investigate what and how UA contributes to environmental sustainability (ES) thereby to the building of a resilient city. Scholarly search engines such as Elsevier, Google Scholar, Science Direct, Springer and Taylor & Francis were used to retrieving articles of interest. The findings revealed that UA has immensely contributed to urban environmental sustainability through mitigating greenhouse gas, mitigating urban heat island effect, controlling flood, enhancing biodiversity, promoting agro-tourism and generating technologies contributing to addressing urban land allocation challenges for UA. UA is a solution to curb rising key urban ES issues. However, challenges such as lack of policy support, exclusion to include in urban land use planning and/or replacing it with other land use types and urbanites' behavior toward the choice of its agricultural products are determinants to enjoy the full benefits of UA. Therefore, implementing UA as a strategy to ensure ES at this very high time of global climate change is time to harvest its multiple benefits. Calabar is a city in which 65 per cent of people live in poverty in informal settlements that have low and decreasing access to improved water. In the low-income informal areas of the city, residents are being made responsible for securing their own water supply through the use of several coping strategies. This paper explores the decreasing access to water and coping strategies for shortage in Calabar, Nigeria. It analyses two complementary pieces of data: (i) the households' coping strategies and (ii) satisfaction with improved water services. A mixed method was introduced, and data were collected via fieldwork at three settlements in Calabar. A household survey of 360 respondents and 27 in-depth interviews were undertaken, and focus groups were conducted. The findings show that households engaged in different coping strategies with which to access water, including conservation (changing routine/reusing), purchasing (spending a significant proportion of their income on buying water) and pumping. The household's tenure, socioeconomic status and water accessibility determine their decision to move if services are not provided. A crucial differentiation exists between a larger population being granted less access to water versus certain individuals receiving access to a greater quantity of water. The study suggests that improved access to water be secured by mainstreaming approaches and policy interventions that align with the needs of marginalized informal residents and by concerted efforts to effectively manage the water supply for sustainable development. The problem of climate change is a significant issue that is worsening. It leads to more disasters and difficulties. These challenges will keep growing in the coming years. To mitigate the impact of climate change, individuals must be conscious of environmental preservation. This study aims to analyze MASAKLIM, an initiative focused on communication, information, and education, which aims to promote sustainable waste management and support climate resilience. The research applied a quantitative approach using survey design. The study was conducted at Sebelas Maret University and involved undergraduate and postgraduate Civics students from FKIP, UNS who took Civic ecology courses during the even semester of 2023. This research showed that MASAKLIM is a legitimate initiative undertaken by students to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change through two key activities: a). reducing the amount of packaging waste generated by purchasing large products or avoiding the use of disposable products, and b). reducing the use of disposable plastic shopping bags in favour of reusable alternatives. Despite elevated low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels, some older subjects with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) do not develop atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ACVD) during their lifetime. The factors related to this resilient state have not been fully established. The aim of this study was to evaluate differential characteristics between older HeFH subjects with and without ACVD and factors associated with the presence of ACVD. Subjects were part of the Spanish Atherosclerosis Society Dyslipidemia Registry, and those ≥ 70 years old and with HeFH were included. Baseline characteristics of these subjects with and without ACVD were compared. A multivariate analysis was performed to assess factors associated with the presence of ACVD. A total of 2148 subjects with HeFH were included. Resilient subjects were mostly female, younger and presented fewer comorbidities with respect to the ACVD group. Subjects without ACVD had higher baseline high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (55.8 ± 17.1 vs. 47.9 ± 15.4 mg/dL; p < 0.001) and lower lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] (53.4 ± 67.9 vs. 66.6 ± 85.6 mg/dL; p < 0.001) levels with respect to those in the ACVD group. Summary: Sleep loss impairs cognition; however, individuals differ in their response to sleep loss. Current methods to identify an individual's vulnerability to sleep loss involve time‐consuming sleep‐loss challenges and neurobehavioural tests. Here, we sought to identify electroencephalographic markers of sleep‐loss vulnerability obtained from routine night sleep. We retrospectively analysed four studies in which 50 healthy young adults (21 women) completed a laboratory baseline‐sleep phase followed by a sleep‐loss challenge. After classifying subjects as resilient or vulnerable to sleep loss, we extracted three electroencephalographic features from four channels during the baseline nights, evaluated the discriminatory power of these features using the first two studies (discovery), and assessed reproducibility of the results using the remaining two studies (reproducibility). In the discovery analysis, we found that, compared to resilient subjects, vulnerable subjects exhibited: (1) higher slow‐wave activity power in channel O1 (p < 0.0042, corrected for multiple comparisons) and in channels O2 and C3 (p < 0.05, uncorrected); (2) higher slow‐wave activity rise rate in channels O1 and O2 (p < 0.05, uncorrected); and (3) lower sleep spindle frequency in channels C3 and C4 (p < 0.05, uncorrected). Our reproducibility analysis confirmed the discovery results on slow‐wave activity power and slow‐wave activity rise rate, and for these two electroencephalographic features we observed consistent group‐difference trends across all four channels in both analyses. The higher slow‐wave activity power and slow‐wave activity rise rate in vulnerable individuals suggest that they have a persistently higher sleep pressure under normal rested conditions. This paper evaluates rail transit within the context of the transit policies implemented in Lima, Peru. First it reviews the implementation of rapid transit, and bus reform. Secondly, it evaluates the outcomes of such policies by using Total Factor Productivity for policy effectiveness, Data Envelopment Analysis for rapid transit performance, and Generalized Cost of Travel for improvements. This paper finds that implementation failed in enforcing key requirements for rail transit regarding penetration of CBD and short transfers to bus transit; and that the basic assumptions of bus reform did not hold regarding bus oversupply, bus congestion or bus pollution. This paper also finds that outcomes of policies failed dramatically in achieving the planning goals; however, rail transit (Metro) shows high level of resilience in serving large ridership at high speed. On the other hand, bus reform was associated with a disproportionate increase of motorization, well over the effect of income growth or car attractiveness, and more related to the excessive reduction of bus transit capacity ill-advised from unproved bus reform assumptions. This paper recommends expanding rail rapid transit due to its intensive use of green renewable energy and its potential of demand growth if combined with modern Intelligent Transportation services, but this opportunity can be wasted without the proposed policy constraint to achieve lower Generalized Cost of Travel at any governmental intervention for bus reform, instead of just reducing bus transit capacity as implemented. Finally, this paper recommends government to government contracts to build rail transit and to enforce proper planning.

Departing from traditional models, I5.0, an evolution from Industry 4.0, strategically aligns with SDG 9 to reshape industrial landscapes and promote global sustainable, resilient, and inclusive development. I5.0’s emphasis on resource optimization and collaboration between humans and machines marks a departure from technologically driven manufacturing (I4.0), ushering in a sustainable production model. Cutting-edge technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and automation, optimize resource utilization, enhancing operational efficiency to support sustainability goals. Yet, challenges like initial implementation costs and a lack of global sustainability standards pose obstacles. The human-centric integration within I5.0 prioritizes human needs throughout the manufacturing process. Collaborations with Cobots and AI-ML technologies optimize workflows, contribute to customization, and align with SDG 9’s vision, necessitating robust training programs and strategic considerations for workforce adaptation and financial investments. Exploring I5.0 resilience within SDG 9 unveils its pivotal role during crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Discussions navigate challenges related to supply chain disruptions, economic impacts, and geopolitical factors, emphasizing the need for strategic resilience, sustainability, and human-centric approaches. I5.0 resilience, guided by Cobots, aligns with SDG 9’s focus on resilient infrastructure. Sustainable Business Model Innovation (SBMI) emerges as a central point of contention in the I5.0 and SDG 9 interplay. Advocates tout its transformative potential for sustainability goals, while skeptics question scalability and adaptability, reflecting the complexity of factors in achieving sustainable and resilient industrial development. Summary It is well established that individuals differ in their response to sleep loss. However, existing methods to predict an individual's sleep‐loss phenotype are not scalable or involve effort‐dependent neurobehavioural tests. To overcome these limitations, we sought to predict an individual's level of resilience or vulnerability to sleep loss using electroencephalographic (EEG) features obtained from routine night sleep. To this end, we retrospectively analysed five studies in which 96 healthy young adults (41 women) completed a laboratory baseline‐sleep phase followed by a sleep‐loss challenge. After classifying subjects into sleep‐loss phenotypic groups, we extracted two EEG features from the first sleep cycle (median duration: 1.6 h), slow‐wave activity (SWA) power and SWA rise rate, from four channels during the baseline nights. Using these data, we developed two sets of logistic regression classifiers (resilient versus not‐resilient and vulnerable versus not‐vulnerable) to predict the probability of sleep‐loss resilience or vulnerability, respectively, and evaluated model performance using test datasets not used in model development. Consistently, the most predictive features came from the left cerebral hemisphere. For the resilient versus not‐resilient classifiers, we obtained an average testing performance of 0.68 for the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, 0.72 for accuracy, 0.50 for sensitivity, 0.84 for specificity, 0.61 for positive predictive value, and 3.59 for likelihood ratio. We obtained similar performance for the vulnerable versus not‐vulnerable classifiers. These results indicate that logistic regression classifiers based on SWA power and SWA rise rate from routine night sleep can largely predict an individual's sleep‐loss phenotype. However, existing multirobot cooperative localization systems still fall short in meeting high-precision localization requirements in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-denied environments. In this paper, we propose a factor-graph-based resilient cooperative localization (FG-RCL) algorithm for multirobot systems. This algorithm integrates measurements from visual sensors and Ultra-WideBand (UWB) to achieve accurate cooperative state estimation—overcoming the visibility issues of visual sensors within limited fields of view. We utilize the Joint Probabilistic Data Association (JPDA) algorithm to calculate the corresponding probabilities of multiple visual detection measurements between robots and assign them to their respective edges in the factor graph, thereby addressing the data association challenges in visual detection measurements. Finally, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm significantly reduces the influence of visual detection measurement interference on the performance of cooperative localization. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm outperforms UWB-based and vision-based methods in terms of localization accuracy. The system is implemented using a factor-graph-based optimization approach, and it exhibits scalability and enables plug-and-play for sensors. Sweet potato is one of the important tropical tuber crops across the world. This review analyzes the studies on the climate resilience of sweet potato to various environmental parameters, the impact of climate change on its yield, and geographical suitability to exploit more about this crop and find out the knowledge gap in its existing research. Drought tolerance studies indicate the suitability of sweet potato in drought‐prone areas in terms of their survival rate, and their leaves can tolerate up to a wilting point of −1.3 MPa. The optimum night and daytime temperatures for sweet potato are 18°C and 28°C. There are 82 crop varieties available globally with heat‐stress tolerance without compromising the yield. The elevated atmospheric CO2 enhanced the growth and yield of sweet potato and increased the water use efficiency. The salinity tolerance of sweet potato is observed as 11 dS m−1, and it is superior to other major food crops. Sweet potato's ozone tolerance is higher than other crops (59 ppb). The impact studies on crop yield and geographical suitability also recommend its superiority to other major food crops with similar crop duration. As an outcome of this study, further research is needed to explore this crop as sweet potato can substitute for major food grain crops in developing countries regarding food, feed, medicine, and fuel. Research on value‐added products and their marketing is another area that needs immediate attention. Studies must exploit sweet potato leaves to ensure nutritional security in developing countries. The researchers also need to focus on developing climate‐resilient varieties to ensure a continuous supply of planting materials to needy people to ensure food security. This review also demands more studies on the modeling of sweet potato worldwide to issue crop yield forecasts and monitor the spatial distribution of its major pests worldwide. The theoretical literature on resilience shows there is no consensus regarding whether resilience is an ability; interactive process involving the individual, group, and community; both ability and process; or favorable outcome. A definitive part of the research on children's resilience featured the assessment of an indicator of resilience (e.g., health-related quality of life) and involved pediatric patients with prolonged illnesses. The present study examined resilience directly as an ability and process, and related protective or risk variables, with validated instruments among adolescent patients with chronic orthopedic conditions. One-hundred fifteen adolescent patients assented (parents/legally authorized representatives consented), with 73 completing the study questionnaire. Fifteen, 47, and 10 scored low, normal, or high, respectively, on resilience-ability (one with missing data). These three groups differed significantly on the number of years living with family, individual personal skills, self-esteem, negative affect, anxiety, and depression. Resilience-ability positively correlated with number of years living with family, individual personal skills, and self-esteem, but negatively with duration of chronic orthopedic condition, negative affect, anxiety, and depression. Duration of chronic orthopedic condition negatively correlated with individual peer support among those scoring high on resilience-ability. For girls, duration of chronic orthopedic condition negatively correlated with resilience-ability, educational context, and self-esteem, but positively correlated with caregiver physical and psychological caregiving for boys. Findings underscored the consequence of resilience for these adolescent patients, with their chronic orthopedic conditions affecting daily function and life quality. Industry 5.0 promises to revolutionize the industry by focusing on human-centric, sustainability, and resilience empowered by emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitalization. This paradigm shift is expected to bring significant advancements in sustainability, resilience, productivity, effectiveness, efficiency, customization, reliability, safety, security, maintainability etc. However, this shift of the industrial paradigm introduces substantial cybersecurity challenges due to the increased attack surface and data sensitivity. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to conduct a thorough literature review of the recent research on cybersecurity in Industry 5.0, highlighting emerging trends, gaps, and potential solutions. To conduct this research, the authors have applied the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology to investigate cybersecurity solutions in Industry 5.0. The findings reveal that conceptual research dominates, with AI, Blockchain, and Internet of Things (IoT) most prevalent but highlights a gap in linking cybersecurity to resilience and sustainability. Furthermore, the paper aims to present trends in cybersecurity research with more relevant results from 2022 to 2024. It conducts a thorough review of the literature, highlighting the evolving landscape of cybersecurity applications in Industry 5.0.

Climate variability and food insecurity shocks frequently affect the livelihood of rural households. Therefore, understanding the fundamentals of resilience is essential for enhancing the capabilities of vulnerable households. The objective of this study was to analyze rural households' resilience to the adverse impacts of climate variability and food insecurity in the North-eastern highlands of Ethiopia. Based on a cross-sectional survey, both probability and non-probability sampling procedures were employed to select sample respondents, key informants and focus group discussants. Principal Component Analysis (PCA), one-way ANOVA and linear regression modeling were used to analyze the data. The results indicated that perceptions of climatic variability, agricultural assets, adaptive capacity and income and food access are the four resilience dimensions with the largest contribution to households’ resilience. Likewise, social capital and access to basic services were the next positive contributors. However, agricultural technology adoption and social safety nets were insignificant contributors. Moreover, households living in the Meher livelihood zone/LHZ/were highly resilient followed by ABB and Meher-belg. On the other hand, respondents in the SWS, CHV and Belg LHZs were less resilient. Male-headed households, household heads with formal education and married households were found to be more resilient than their counterparts. The study found that 50.4 % of the respondents were non-resilient and 45.5 % were highly resilient. In conclusion, the adverse impacts of climate-related hazards associated with the existing food insecurity have deteriorated the resilience capacity of rural households by which they became highly vulnerable and could be easily exposed to shocks. The study suggested that unless well-planned intervention is implemented many households might quickly lose their resilience status to worse even by a very little shock. Moreover, enhancing capability aspects should be the primary goal of any interventions aimed at increasing households' resilience in drought-prone areas in general and the study area in particular.

Abstract Background Resilient health system (RHS) is crucial to achieving universal health coverage (UHC) and health security. However, little is known about strategies towards RHS to improve UHC and health security. This systematic review aims to synthesise the literature to understand approaches to build RHS toward UHC and health security. Methods A systematic search was conducted including studies published from 01 January 2000 to 31 December 2021. Studies were searched in three databases (PubMed, Embase, and Scopus) using search terms under four domains: resilience, health system, universal health coverage, and health security. We critically appraised articles using Rees and colleagues’ quality appraisal checklist to assess the quality of papers. A systematic narrative synthesis was conducted to analyse and synthesise the data using the World Health Organization’s health systems building block framework. Results A total of 57 articles were included in the final review. Context-based redistribution of health workers, task-shifting policy, and results-based health financing policy helped to build RHS. High political commitment, community-based response planning, and multi-sectorial collaboration were critical to realising UHC and health security. On the contrary, lack of access, non-responsive, inequitable healthcare services, poor surveillance, weak leadership, and income inequalities were the constraints to achieving UHC and health security. In addition, the lack of basic healthcare infrastructures, inadequately skilled health workforces, absence of clear government policy, lack of clarity of stakeholder roles, and uneven distribution of health facilities and health workers were the challenges to achieving UHC and health security. Conclusions Advanced healthcare infrastructures and adequate number of healthcare workers are essential to achieving UHC and health security. However, they are not alone adequate to protect the health system from potential failure. Context-specific redistribution of health workers, task-shifting, result-based health financing policies, and integrated and multi-sectoral approaches, based on the principles of primary health care, are necessary for building RHS toward UHC and health security.

Abiotic stresses, caused by climate change pose a huge threat to agriculture. In particular, climate change related drought stress will have large negative impact on crop growth, development and eventually production. As the changes in the weather patterns have a direct impact on farmers' capability to grow crops, the urgency of improving farmers' adaptive capacity should be addressed to minimize the potential negative impacts of climate change. Availability of adaptation technologies that would reduce crop production losses is of utmost importance in attaining climate change resilient crops. One potential adaptive measure is the use of crop varieties resilient to climate change related stresses. Various breeding technologies have been used to develop new durable crops, if not, enhanced or improve the ability of crops to survive under adverse environmental conditions, brought about by the changes in climate. One of the most sustainable strategies to mitigate these effects to agriculture is the development of climate resilient crops. Crops that can thrive under extreme weather conditions as effects of the changing climates. Conventional breeding may not be enough to develop new breeds of crops with better durability to abiotic stresses such as drought, salinity, submergence, high and low temperatures. Thus, other strategies as stand-alone or in combination with conventional breeding, are explored to enhance genetic variability for improving tolerance to abiotic stresses. These are the biotechnological approaches including marker assisted breeding, mutation breeding, genetic engineering and genome editing. These technologies offer a better future for developing climate change resilient crops.

Abstract Background Overcontrol and undercontrol personality types have been associated with an increase in eating pathology, depression and anxiety. The aim of the research was to explore whether latent overcontrol and undercontrol personality types could be identified using cluster analysis of the facets of the five factor model (FFM). We further aimed to understand how these personality types were associated with eating pathology, depressed mood and anxiety. Methods A total of 561 participants (394 women and 167 men), aged 16–30 years in Australia completed a survey designed to assess disordered eating, FFM personality traits, anxiety, depression and stress. A systematic four-step process using hierarchical, k-means, and random forest cluster analyses were used to identify a meaningful 3-cluster solution. Results The results revealed a cluster solution that represented overcontrol, undercontrol and resilient personality types, and highlighted facets of the FFM that were associated with each type. Both overcontrol and undercontrol personality types were associated with increased clinical symptoms compared to the resilient types. Conclusions It was concluded that FFM facets may potentially be more meaningful than broad domains in identifying personality types, and that both overcontrol and undercontrol personality types are likely associated with increased clinical symptoms.

So, the resiliency of an employee (sales-force of any commercial organization in this study) should be understood on the touch-points of salesemployee with society. On this context, the main purpose of this study is to explore the strategic relationships of social communication, social change, and social engagement of the sales-employees to build the concerned employees’ resiliency. With the descriptive research design, this research-work is intended to study the above said relationship by extensive literature review. Major outcomes of this study refer that social communication in varying level makes the employee of an organization engage with the social activities and simultaneously develop the psychological adjustment of the concerned sales-employee towards social change. Finally, the social engagement and self-accommodation to the social change build the resilient sales-force of the concerned retail organization. A conceptual model is developed that justifies the above outcomes, which is the major contribution or novelty of this study. Thus, the industrial implication of the said outcomes is that any commercial organization should develop the social orientation of their sales-force by developing their social communication continuously, which in turn enables the concerned sales-employees for better adoptability to any social changes, for insulate themselves for adverse social (market) conditions, and for productive social engagement in the marketing orientations. The said causal relationship ultimate give the return to the organization in the form of resilient sales-force. And, social implication refers that the society will be aware of the truth regarding the functioning of sales-functions of organization in the context of social contribution of those organizations.

Greater resilience was also observed when people with dementia had fewer functional difficulties and/or fewer neuropsychiatric symptoms, there was a stronger dyadic relationship, and the caregiver had fewer social restrictions, less neuroticism, and greater perceived competence. Surprisingly, caregiver self-efficacy, optimism, and self-esteem were unrelated to resilience. Conclusion Caregivers of people with mild-to-moderate dementia generally scored well for resilience. Resilience was associated with both the personal characteristics of caregivers and level of care need among people with dementia. Future work is needed to determine whether the caregivers in this cohort appeared resilient because the care recipients had relatively low care needs and consequently placed fewer demands on caregiver well-being than would be the case where dementia is more advanced.

A series of traits grouped together is called a personality type. Three broad personality types have been identified consistently in previous research, being overcontrol (rigid, perfectionistic), undercontrol (impulsive, mood dependent) and resilient (flexible, low pathology). Understanding eating disorders in the context of overcontrol, undercontrol and resilient personality types has been found to be predict disordered eating behaviour and treatment course for people with eating disorders. This study aimed to identify personality types using the well known five factor model of personality among a group of Australian young people. We also aimed to understand the relationships between personality type and eating pathology. It was found that a wider range of personality traits may be more meaningful than broad domains in identifying personality types. It was further found that individuals who were overcontrol or undercontrol were more likely to experience eating pathology and disordered eating compared to resilient types. Overall, this means that that the five factor model of personality may be useful for identifying people at risk for developing an eating disorder and to consider treatment needs. The results of research conducted in 2022 in the Lae-Lae Island fishing community found that the forms of household livelihood vulnerability can be categorized into: pressure from external community factors that are long-term and broad-scale (trends), shocks that come in a short time that disrupt sources of livelihood, and disturbances or pressures that are seasonal. The study also found that small-scale fishing communities carry out three livelihood strategies namely: (1) double income pattern; (2) optimizing the role of the family; and (3) utilizing social networks. The factors of the existence of physical and financial capital as an essential element of resilience show that these two capitals still need to be improved in the community’s possession. This research is a continuation of previous research, aiming to determine the strength of social capital possessed by fishing communities in dealing with household livelihood vulnerabilities on Lae-lae Island, Makassar City. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with informants and was carried out through purposive sampling. Researchers used observation data collection techniques, interviews, and documentation. The analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis and is descriptive. The study found that social norms in the fishing community on Lae-lae Island contributed to other elements of social capital. Social solid norms maintain the habit of mutual assistance, high trust among them, and cooperation built in a network of social and institutional relations, which is a condition rooted in the socio-cultural values of the fishing community of the Bugis-Makassar tribe. The article discusses how pharmacists can maintain sustainability in their profession, particularly on how to ensure high-level of performance and resiliency while mitigating severe workplace stress that could lead to mediocre performance or departure from the profession. Also cited are the need to recognize job stress and the recommended steps to address it, and how some stress and anxiety could result in a successful and sustained leadership.

City managers search for new concepts of city development in order to satisfy growing demands and manage risk. The research assumes that city management requires the combination of ideas of sustainable development, a smart city and resilience. These three concepts are the components of the so-called "Fundamental Power of the City". The aim of this paper is to present and test the operationalization of the new hybrid approach to city development through the index named the Fundamental Power of the City Index which includes 80 variables. The research applies six linear ordering methods to investigate the functionality of the Index. These are used to investigate each city's performance and compare it with other cities by ranking them according to a chosen measure. The research considers 18 voivodship capital cities of Poland. The research draws attention to different approaches of development assessment although analysis shows that most linear ordering methods produce similar rankings. Investigation shows that human and social capital factors contribute to high positions in the ranking which is consistent with the development strategies formulated by the leading cities. The results of the analysis also identify the most urgent problems of the municipalities. The research confirms that the Fundamental Power of the City concept, by including the requirements for sustainable, smart and resilient cities, fills the gaps between them and provides a holistic approach to city management.
