Relying on Krippendorff's description of "authentic conversation" we describe the ethnography of unimagined possibilities in the intersection of ethnography and human-centered design research. Possibilities are what inspire human-centered designers to create products, practices, and services that could satisfy currently unimagined yet real needs and desires. Although possibilities are not observable as such, they can be constructed in conversations of designers and other stakeholders. The article is my ASHE Presidential Address from 2013 – it has not been substantially revised or updated. It is a reflective piece on my journey in academia, with a particular focus on the role of personal identity in research. The piece begins by discussing my initial belief in the importance of maintaining objectivity in research by distancing personal identity from my work. This belief was rooted in the traditional academic notion that research should be "objective" and "distanced." My position, however, evolved as I came to realize that my positionality was not objective but was instead problematic. This realization was not immediate but was the result of years of reading, studying, and being influenced by other scholars. In this piece I share an "aha moment" that greatly influenced my professional and personal life. This moment led to a significant shift in my approach to research, making privilege and awareness central to my work. The essay includes not only my perspectives on this matter, but also those of my colleagues in the field in the form of data as well as vignettes. The paper concludes by encouraging other academics to acknowledge their personal identities and experiences as fundamental parts of academic discourse – to engage in me-search. This study aims to identify the reality of human resources development at Al-Quds University from the perspective of the university’s faculty members, highlighting the obstacles on the way of such HR development and offering proposals for their development. For the study purposes, a questionnaire, consisting of (39) items distributed into 4 dimensions, was designed; and the tool’s validity and reliability were verified. The study sample consisted of (270) individuals. Data statistical analysis using the (S.P.S.S.) program was conducted. The study results revealed that the reality of human resources development at Al-Quds University showed average career development and career creativity, with an overall arithmetical mean of (2.83). Human development components presence scored an overall average value, with an arithmetical mean of (2.78). It was also concluded that human resources development faced many obstacles, notably the lack of trained human resources and absence of technological skills among workers. There was no effect of (experience, gender) varaible in determining the reality of human resources development at Al-Quds University. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Despite its far-reaching influence, Ángel Rama’s La ciudad letrada (1984) has been amply criticized in recent years for positing a too-rigid and univocal relationship between writing and power, as well as for the argument’s disregard of indigenous, mestizo, and Afro-descendant forms of literacy. This article takes these debates as the starting point for a new intellectual genealogy of the concept—the lettered city—through a thorough review of Rama’s earlier critical work and epistolary writing. In particular, I revisit the 1980 essay in which Rama referred for the first time to the lettered city, “La señal de Jonás sobre el pueblo mexicano.” A rereading of the posthumous book in dialogue with the previous work allows us to see that the idea of the lettered city did not aspire to describe the totality of the cultural reality of colonial America, but rather one of the poles that puts it in tension, one side of a cultural conflict. “La señal de Jonás” offers a significantly different vision of the colonial city, where the cultural force of an urban and multiracial plebs defies the walls of the lettered city and manages to penetrate the intellectual practice of some of its guardians. In contrast to the pessimism of La ciudad letrada, “La señal de Jonás” entails a kind of utopianism regarding the political and aesthetic potentialities of that popular urban culture that is ultimately similar to that of Transculturación narrativa en América Latina. This paper explores Ilyenkov's conception of imagination as it is expressed in his writings on aesthetics and in his 1968 book Ob idolakh i idealakh (Of Idols and Ideals). Ilyenkov deemed imagination and creativity to be central to the character of distinctively human forms of mental activity. After examining the many different contexts in which Ilyenkov sees imagination at work—from the most basic operations of perception to the expression of artistic and scientific genius—I bring his ideas into dialogue with the account of imagination developed in Vygotsky's writings. I argue that, though there are significant differences, their respective approaches are complementary. Both see imagination not simply as a vehicle of fantasy, but as intimately involved in disclosing reality. Moreover, both thinkers are reluctant to cast imagination as a discrete mental function on a par with reason, memory, will, etc. Imagination, rather, is critical to the way in which mental functions express themselves. Background: Virtual reality modeling (VRM) is a 3-dimensional simulation created from patient-specific 2-dimensional (2D) imaging. VRM creates a more accurate representation of the patient anatomy and can improve anatomical perception. We surveyed surgeons on their operative plan in complex pediatric oncology cases based on review of 2D imaging and subsequently after review of VRM. We hypothesized that the confidence level would increase with the use of virtual reality and that VRM may change the operative plan. Methods: Patients were selected and enrolled based on age (<18) and oncological diagnosis. VRM was created based on the 2D imaging. Surgeons identified surgical plans based on 2D imaging and again after VRM. A blinded surgeon not involved with the case also gave opinions on surgical plans after viewing both the 2D and the VRM imaging. These assessments were compared with the actual operation. Results: A total of 12 patients were enrolled. Diagnoses included six neuroblastomas, two Wilms tumors, one Ewing's sarcoma, one pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas, one rhabdomyosarcoma, and one mediastinal germ cell tumor. VRM increased the operating surgeon's confidence 63% of the time. The operative plan changed 8.3% of the time after VRM. Double bookkeeping is a term introduced by Eugen Bleuler to describe a fundamental feature of schizophrenia where psychotic reality can exist side by side with shared reality even when these realities seem mutually exclusive. Despite increasing theoretical interest in this phenomenon over the recent years, there are no empirical studies addressing this issue. We have, therefore, conducted a phenomenologically descriptive qualitative study of 25 patients with schizophrenia in which we addressed the following issues: (1) Experience of double reality; (2) Emergence and development of two realities; (3) Truth quality of psychotic or private reality; (4) Insight into illness; (5) Communication of psychotic experiences. The most important result was that most patients felt to be in contact with another dimension of reality. Hallucinatory and delusional experience pertained to this different reality, which patients most frequently kept separated from the shared reality. This other dimension was considered by the patients as being more profound and real. The pre-psychotic and psychotic experiences were difficult to verbalize and typically described as totally different than ordinary experience. Double reality was persistent across remissions. None of the patients considered their condition as an illness analogous to a somatic disorder. Most patients described a vague sense of duality preceding the crystallization of double bookkeeping. This emergence of doubleness was associated with a fundamental alienation from oneself, the world, and others stretching back to childhood or early adolescence. In many literary works, the characters transform into a "new man". For example, Tom Joads in Grapes of Wrath is transformed from a selfish character who prioritizes his own survival under the social background of the Great Depression. After traveling with his family to California. Young Joads gradually become sober towards the suffering of lower class Americans, turning into a righteous man who fights for social justice. Nevertheless, I disagree with the concept "new man", because despite the ceaseless stream of time and transformative experiences we undergo, our personal essence is constant through time. Meaning that we do not form a complete new self through the transformation of time and experience. To understand this we will be examining the concepts of personal identity defined by memory and consciousness throughout the period of human life. Locke believes that experiences form a human being, and that the concept of individual consciousness will demonstrate the inherent continuity and persistence of the self that are presented through a comprehensive understanding of nature's capacity for transformation over the span of time. Therefore factors such as individual perceptions and impressions in shaping one's sense of self, along with the influence of moral development and virtue on individual identity do not alter the core of identity. Indeed, Descartes, who views the human consciousness as the only object that holds true in the universe, agrees that we are not able to perceive the objective truth. The view point we will argue is in contrast to that of Hume and his bundle theory of identity; we will, therefore, first give an exposition on Hume's critique of a stable personal identity, which it separated into qualitatively identify, and numerical identity. Hans-Georg Gadamer criticizes Friedrich Schiller for inaugurating a merely aesthetic disposition toward reality. Such an aesthetic disposition, on Gadamer's account, is overly subjective. It also robs one of a genuine encounter with beauty that contributes to one's understanding. In my view, Schiller's position is not reducible to Gadamer's critique of it. Indeed, following scholars like John Pizer and Nathan Ross, I affirm that Gadamer does not fully appreciate the practical, political, and theoretical aspects of Schiller's aesthetics. In the following, I focus on Schiller's political thought as it is developed in response to the French Revolution. In addition to contextualizing his political thought, I illuminate his account of the mediating play impulse, his conception of the beautiful, and his systematic understanding of freedom to argue that Schiller resists Gadamer's charge of aesthetic differentiation. By returning to Gadamer's critique, we can more fully appreciate Schiller's political invocation of the aesthetic domain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Knowledge serves as the driving factor of society, especially since today knowledge is no longer only a human mental process, but also one that animals, and artificial intelligence, and intelligent robots, and the Internet have. The purpose of this study is to highlight the fact that the modern notion of "educated and well-informed man" presupposes not only a permanent and healthy informational competition with other members of society, but also with oneself. This implies the fact that human freedom and happiness can be acquired not only unconsciously, but also consciously, through learning, through cultivation, by becoming more elevated tomorrow than today, because the knowledgeable, well-documented human is not only stronger, but also capable to face current challenges. That is why the constant search and the presence of doubt in what he thinks, the joy of a conscious interpretation of reality will allow him to exploit his potential to the maximum, and this can ensure his true happiness. This article examines how the autofictional works of Latin American writer Mario Vargas Llosa and Tamil writer Charu Nivedita employ similar strategies. This article provides the opportunity for readers to discuss how autobiography, autofiction, and life writing might evolve in the future. In addition, it seeks to discover the theoretical implications in the life narratives of the chosen writers' works. This article investigates the ongoing evolution of life-writing studies and their potential impact on a wide range of fields of study. These two authors share numerous similarities, most notably a meta-modernist storytelling style. Through autofiction, they question the nature of reality and construct an alternate universe. To create a narrative, one must demonstrate empathy and connection, as well as address the interrelationships between different ways of thinking and being. ÖZ: Dijital dönüşümün küresel etkisi birçok alanda büyük değişimler yaratmaktadır. 2021 yılında bu etkinin yepyeni bir deneyime dönüştüğü Metaverse ise değişimin hızını daha da arttırmaktadır. Metaverse kullanıcıların dünyayı algılama, yaşama ve değerlendirme biçimini değiştirmektedir. Bu değişim üniversiteleri de etkilemekte ve gelecekte tamamen farklılaştırma potansiyeline sahip görünmektedir. Metaverse zaman ve mekân sınırlarını ortadan kaldırmanın çok ötesinde üniversite eğitim kalitesi için çok değerli olan eğitim içeriği ve eğitim ortamının meta varlıklarla yapılandırılmasında sınırsız olanaklar sunmaktadır. Çalışma, üniversitelerin Metaversity olma sürecinde yapılandırmaları gereken meta eğitim ekosistemi için üniversite öğrencilerinin algılarını ölçmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Buna yönelik olarak üniversite öğrencilerini iki gruba ayırarak toplamda 16 katılımcıyla odak grup görüşmeleri yapılarak içerik analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Aynı zamanda alanyazın taraması sonucu elde edilen bilgilerden hareketle ortaya konan meta eğitim ekosistem modelinin avantaj ve dezavantajları incelenerek girdi ve çıktılarının araştırma bulgularıyla keşfedilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda metaverse hakkında bilgisi olan ve olmayan öğrencilerin algıları arasında farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir. Aynı zamanda modele metaverse geçiş oryantasyonu, dijital kimlikle etkileşim ve sosyalleşme rehberliği, operasyonel staj simülasyonu, küresel meta etkileşim ve geçmişten geleceğe meta tanıtım unsurları eklenmiştir. Temel olarak meta varlıklar, sürükleyici teknolojiler, gerçeklik türleri, ağ kalitesi ve sanal deneyim tasarımı gibi öğelerle zenginleştirilecek Metaversity öğrenme ortamı, sanal sınıflar ve sanal kütüphane gibi dijital deneyimlerle yüksek kalitede meta eğitim sunabilecek biçimde yapılandırılabilecektir. ABSTRACT: The global impact of digital transformation is leading to significant changes across various fields. This impact has been further accelerated by the influence of the Metaverse in 2021. The Metaverse is altering how users perceive, experience, and evaluate the world, including its potential to significantly impact universities and appear to have the potential for complete differentiation in the future. Beyond eliminating time and space constraints, the Metaverse offers unlimited possibilities for structuring education content and environments with meta-assets, which are highly valuable for university education quality. This study aims to measure university students' perceptions regarding the meta education ecosystem that universities need to structure in their journey towards becoming Metaversities. University students were divided into two groups for this purpose, focus group discussions were conducted with a total of 16 participants and content analysis was conducted. Additionally, based on the information gathered through literature review, the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed meta-education ecosystem model were examined, aiming to explore its inputs and outputs considering research findings. The study identified differences in perceptions between students who are knowledgeable about the metaverse and those who are not. Furthermore, the model was enhanced with elements such as metaverse transition orientation, interaction with digital identity and socialization guidance, operational internship simulation, global meta interaction, and elements of meta introduction from past to future. Essentially, the Metaversity learning environment, enriched with elements like meta-assets, immersive technologies, types of reality, network quality, and virtual experience design, can be structured to deliver high-quality meta education through digital experiences such as virtual classrooms and virtual libraries.

It highlights Levinas's criticism of art as contributing to a distortion of reality, likening its role to a form of silence and inaccessibility, drawing parallels with Plato's views on art as deceptive and obstructive to true understanding.

This essay analyzes the 2007 board game Pandemic in light of the COVID-19 global pandemic. The essay explores the connections between the reality of Pandemic and the play of COVID-19. To do this, it uses Ian Bogost's interpretation of systems (both real and imagined) to invite a dialectic of reality and game simulation. The interaction of such systems, in a game whose theme became real, highlights a major tenet of game studies—the borders between reality and games are thin, blurred, and mobile, if they exist at all. Games, in their simulation of the real, are mimetic, and, in turn, reality has become gamified. The essay examines the board game and highlights its mechanics, which include cooperation and mitigation of risk. It also explores how the game and reality blur their borders in this instance of play, inviting further study into the ramifications of simulated games and the fantasy of the real. Research question (RQ): Is pragmatic research the answer to researching complex, uncertain, and irrational organisational landscapes? Purpose and originality: This article explains a mechanism-based pragmatic approach to organizational science. A comprehensive examination of core approaches to organizational research reveals that traditional organizational theories and classical models prove inadequate in providing a holistic understanding of the escalating complexity and multimodality of organizational phenomena. This underscores the novelty and potential of the pragmatic approach in tackling these complexities. Method: The research used organizational source criticism as a historical methodology to analyse the shift in organizational science beyond classical objectivist conceptualizations. Mechanism-based research explored and understood the contingency of knowledge and action using a pragmatic approach to organisation research. Results: This study's findings underscore the practical implications of pragmatic research in organizational science. It is not a static method but a dynamic and evolving one that effectively addresses organizations' changing needs, societal trends, and technological advancements. This emphasis on adaptability and relevance keeps pragmatic research at the forefront of organizational science, making our findings all the more significant and interesting. Limitations/Further research: It's important to note that this research is based on conceptual views of organizational pragmatic research. While it involved a systematic analysis of the application of pragmatic research methods in the empirical field, it's crucial to acknowledge that further analysis is not just a suggestion but a necessity to fully understand the method's role in explaining complex organizational phenomena. This acknowledgement of the need for more research encourages the reader to delve deeper into the topic, fostering a sense of curiosity and engagement.

The article considers the phenomenon of fake and its infl uence on the individual existence of a person. In circumstances where public opinion is entirely manipulated, the freedom of thought is constrained. Overwhelmed by the excessive infl ux of information, an individual gradually loses the capacity to distinguish between what is true and false. Having embraced the ideological slogan “This is completely diff erent” and acknowledged the importance, the acceptability of double standards, opting for a fabricated reality becomes a choice of the lesser evil for an individual. On the one hand, there exists truth, liberty, and accountability, which necessitates considerable eff ort for a meaningful existence. On the other hand, the devaluation of these values to the level of “one’s own truth,” comfortable conformity, and a reduction in the degree of accountability to the status of “possessing” or “maintaining one’s reputation” enables an individual to seamlessly conform to the prevailing consensus, without stepping out of the comfort zone. The data from domestic and foreign researchers studying this phenomenon are analyzed. Key issues related to the nature of fake, the roles of mass media and new media are identified, the author’s defi nition of this concept is provided. In the context of this article, a “fake” is interpreted as a means of ideological manipulation, serving as a defi ning feature of a text regarding its deviation from the truth. The typical psychological traits of an “average” individual, who generates untruths and is open to accepting them as facts, his/her inclination to “avoid information”, attributing truthfulness to what is essentially an opinion, and showing unquestioning faith in diverse experts, enable contemporary information consumers to merge their personal perception of reality with the constructed reality presented by infl uential media sources. It is concluded that a fake, having various forms of existence, is an ideological tool for manipulating individual and supra-individual consciousness, while individuals fi nd themselves immersed in a new fake reality.

This article introduces the project Return to Reality: What Does the World Ask of Us? This project evolved from a concern that frameworks in mental health operate with knowledge as their primary mode in such a way that reality is lost from sight. This is not primarily an epistemological problem, but an ethical and existential one: ethical because a knowledge-mediated relation to the real can make us blind to the ethical imperatives found in encounters with reality; existential because to be a subject is to respond to what is real. The works of Gert Biesta are a key inspiration. We use Levinas's, Lingis's, and Arendt's ideas to elaborate these concerns. A return to reality is needed; a shift from knowledge-based to reality-sensitive approaches. We relate these ideas to the Open Dialogue approach, with the key imperative of responding to the presence of those present, and to Reflecting team practices, which Tom Andersen describes as being guided by people's bodily responses. This research, titled “Examples of the revelation of verses on reality according to the scholar Muhammad alAmin bin Abdullah al-Harari (d. 1441 AH) through his book Tafsir al-Hada’iq al-Ruh wa al-Bayyhan fi Rawabi Ulum al-Qur’an, an applied study,” SARA MADAWI Ali AL JABER aims to provide an overview of the personality of Imam al-Harari, his interpretation, and the approach that He followed it, clarifying the features of revelation, its benefits and controls, and showing the multiple aspects on which Imam Al-Harawi revealed the verses, through the methods of description, analysis and extrapolation limited to examples, not all, and the most prominent results were that the revelation of the verses of the Holy Qur’an on reality has interested scholars throughout the ages. Islam, including Imam Al-Harari in his interpretation of Gardens of the Spirit and Contemporary Basil, in order to come up with rulings on the calamities that occurred, and that the contemporary issues dealt with in the work are doctrinal, social, economic, military, issues related to women, and issues related to scientific miracles. Background: Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) comprises a group of rare types of genodermatoses characterized by extreme mucocutaneous fragility, leading to blistering and/or erosions, even with minimal trauma. Continuous care through wound management is an integral part of daily life for the families and individuals affected. The aim of this study was to assess the social reality and impacts on families of having minor members diagnosed with EB in Spain. Methods: A qualitative methodology was employed, utilizing four focus groups entailing participation by 24 parents (19 mothers and five fathers) of minors diagnosed with EB in Spain. Results: Negative impacts on the family nucleus were evident in four priority areas of analysis: sociorelational, economic‐labour, physical and psychoemotional, with significant differences observed based on the severity of the symptoms. Conclusion: Impacts on the family nucleus are noticeable from birth, influencing all other daily life routines and complicating family planning and organization. There is an imperative need to enhance the availability of sociohealth resources and to adopt an interdisciplinary approach to address their biopsychosocial needs. Patient or Public Contribution: The active participation of relatives of minors diagnosed with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is invaluable to sociohealth professionals, legislators and researchers. A team member conducts their professional activities at DEBRA España (national patient association dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with EB and their families), actively engaging in all study phases. The aim of this study was to analyse the role that Educational Psychologists (EPs) could play within the framework of the right to inclusive education and the barriers they perceive at different levels of the education system. A reflexive Thematic Analysis study was conducted in Madrid (Spain), which gathered the opinions of 177 professionals working in Counselling Teams. These are multidisciplinary teams in which EPs work alongside other professionals such as social workers and support teachers, in the stages of early childhood and primary education. The data were collected through 21 focus groups. The findings highlight two issues. On the one hand, EPs identified the existence of systemic barriers to advancing towards a more inclusive education, both within and beyond schools, that determine the activities they do in their daily lives. On the other hand, these professionals express their desire to perform other functions, beyond the assessment activities to which they dedicate most of their time, consistent with the international objective of ensuring quality, inclusive, and equitable education for all. These findings are discussed, as well as the gap between accumulated knowledge and the exclusionary practices that continue to occur in everyday reality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper argues that the so‐called ‘paradox’ of dehumanization is a mirage arising from misplaced abstraction. The alleged ‘paradox’ is taken as a challenge that arises from a skeptical stance. After reviewing the history of that skeptical stance, it is reconstructed as an argument with two premises. With the help of an epistemologically structured but pluralistic frame it is then shown how the two premises of the Skeptic's argument can both be debunked. As part of that it emerges that there are a couple of ways how dehumanization can be realized, and one such realization can be sufficient for affirming the reality of dehumanization for a specific case. Although Virginia Woolf's extensive reflections on "the moment" have fascinated critics ever since the publication of "The Moment: A Summer's Night" in 1947, her conception of the moment has been interpreted as either a privileged instant (temporal) or an aleatory insight (psychological). These studies have neglected the influence of her contemporary and acquaintance Alfred North Whitehead, who claimed that reality is comprised of "events," or temporally autonomous, radically contingent, and non-substantialist units of reality. Woolf's "moment" reflects Whitehead's conception of "event" and, via Whitehead, has an unexpected afterlife in Gilles Deleuze's conception of "the event." The entanglement between Woolf's moment, Whitehead's "event," and Deleuze's l'événement yields an alternative modernist sensibility characterized by wonder at a world in which the most ordinary occurrences—such as the leaves fluttering across the lawn, or a bird taking wing—are baffling, miraculous, revolutionary. The global impact of digital transformation is leading to significant changes across various fields. This impact has been further accelerated by the influence of the Metaverse in 2021. The Metaverse is altering how users perceive, experience, and evaluate the world, including its potential to significantly impact universities and appear to have the potential for complete differentiation in the future. Beyond eliminating time and space constraints, the Metaverse offers unlimited possibilities for structuring education content and environments with meta-assets, which are highly valuable for university education quality. This study aims to measure university students' perceptions regarding the meta education ecosystem that universities need to structure in their journey towards becoming Metaversities. University students were divided into two groups for this purpose, focus group discussions were conducted with a total of 16 participants and content analysis was conducted. Additionally, based on the information gathered through literature review, the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed meta-education ecosystem model were examined, aiming to explore its inputs and outputs considering research findings. The study identified differences in perceptions between students who are knowledgeable about the metaverse and those who are not. Furthermore, the model was enhanced with elements such as metaverse transition orientation, interaction with digital identity and socialization guidance, operational internship simulation, global meta interaction, and elements of meta introduction from past to future. Essentially, the Metaversity learning environment, enriched with elements like meta-assets, immersive technologies, types of reality, network quality, and virtual experience design, can be structured to deliver high-quality meta education through digital experiences such as virtual classrooms and virtual libraries. This article explores ideas of solidity in the writings of Charlotte Brontë and Virginia Woolf. It is the first study of its kind in its aim to use solidity to reconcile two writers whose literary affinities, I propose, outnumber their differences. The article demonstrates that in Brontë's Villette (1853) and Woolf's The Waves (1931), the theme of solidity manifests itself in similar forms. It will show how the lingual, written or spoken word, which offers substantial sustenance to characters, is one such form. Similarly, it will show how solidity is present in both Brontë's and Woolf's portrayal of passion, the spiritual and the sexual. The presentation of solid objects as anchors and armours, tying characters to the real world, is a third similar manifestation of solidity in these works. The most recent reimagining of Miguel de Cervantes's Don Quixote (1605) --Salman Rushdie's Quichotte (2019)-- represents the volatile identities in American society under the conditions of blurring a line between fact and fiction. Exploring quixotism as the conflict of idealism vs realism elucidates the idea of humans who fight with the windmills in their heads. Against the background of this conflict, topical concerns are vividly highlighted to remain constant throughout the centuries, considering specific historical and sociocultural circumstances. The impact of this binary opposition on the worldview of the people of that time and the modern ones, created by Cervantes and Rushdie correspondingly, is a primary focus of the article. Both novels share a symbolic reflection of the world through the distinct aesthetics of a work of fiction that moves them beyond metafictional narration. The purpose of the research paper is to analyze the public attitudes of the inhabitants of Right-bank Ukraine cities during World War I from the perspective of such abstract categories as 'illusion' and 'reality'. The scientific novelty is in applying a multidisciplinary approach to the study of personal and collective perception of the wartime period of 1914-1917 by the Ukrainian rear area population through the prism of history, philosophy, and social psychology. Conclusions. During 1914-1917, in the cities of Right-bank Ukraine, a fierce confrontation between the illusory and realistic perception of the events of World War I took place. In the conditions of extreme everyday life, illusions performed various functions, the essence of which reduced itself to attempts to find psychological comfort. The natural human tendency to believe in what one wants to believe, with which the military propaganda of the Russian Empire flirted with varying degrees of success, mitigated the objectively depressing impact of the fact of the outbreak of war on the minds of the population in the summer of 1914. However, typical at the time 'illusion of a quick solution', on which the pro-government sentiments were based, was replaced within a year by the 'illusion of occupation', causing an unprecedented panic among the urban population. In the competition between the two controlled and chaotic constructors of illusion -- propaganda and rumors -- the latter won. The heavy burden of the war inevitably led to disillusionment with the power and the expediency of government policy, and, ultimately, to an ontological crisis in the form of social apathy and 'erosion of reality', which testified to its complete capitulation to illusion on the eve of the 1917 revolutionary events. Undermined by the war, critical thinking did not give the general public the ability to distinguish truth from lies. That could not but had a negative impact on society's ability to perceive reality adequately in the following historical era, when various kinds of social populists effectively used the so-called 'fictional reality' to spread their ideas. legal modernity as a value-oriented framework considered the concept of "right" as an abstract and metaphysical concept in the eighteenth century. At the same time, utilitarian theory welcomed the method of empirical observation in legal analysis, and considering the socio-economic functions of right emerged as an independent theory and have challenged how metaphysics interacts with reality. The present study seeks to investigate the relationship between metaphysics and reality and the nature of the concept of right from the perspective of utilitarianism theory. The principle of "achieving the greatest welfare for the greatest number" in utilitarian school of thought can challenge the concept of right drastically. It seems that utilitarianism authorizes sacrificing individuals and their interests (rights derived from the theory of modern natural law) as a necessity for greater happiness and welfare. Further investigation revealed that the theory rejects the subjectivism that exists in modern natural law; in other words, in examining the concept of right, it simply does not reflect the precedence of metaphysics over reality and, therefore, can be consistent with a typical impression of the concept of "right". AbstractDesigning effective haptic feedback is challenging due to the subjective nature of touch and the fact that multiple people cannot easily share and evaluate touch experiences. In this work, we propose CoTacs, a collaborative haptic toolkit to address the challenges of haptic feedback design by enabling designers to explore haptic experiences together using group collaboration and allowing them to refine ideas quickly through early feedback during the design process. Two design sessions with five collaborators each show that CoTacs enables users to design, evaluate, refine and explore haptic feedback together. Participants leveraged group feedback to improve their designs and inspire creative ideas for the second collaboration round. Our work demonstrates how collaborative haptic toolkits can enable synergistic effects through interactions between the designers, benefiting haptic feedback design while still exposing several limitations. The article focuses on challenging the traditional three-dimensional view of reality in favor of high-dimensionalism within quantum mechanics. It argues that the fundamental nature of reality is not confined to three spatial dimensions but resides in a vastly larger configuration space where entities described by quantum mechanics, such as wave functions, exist.

There are several proposals regarding the origin of the universe and the inhabited earth, the most prominent being Biblical creationism and naturalistic evolutionism. Biblical creationism proposes that the reality around us was created supernaturally by a personal and transcendent Being, who first shaped an earth that was disordered and then filled it with all kinds of life; At the end of the process, he created the human being to represent him visibly in the government or administration of other things. On the other hand, naturalistic evolutionism proposes that the reality that surrounds us is the product of a process in which, without any type of supernatural intervention, natural laws, acting on matter over time and at random, gave rise in a way gradually to the universe, to the inhabited earth and to organisms. Which of the two fits more with the evidence and the reality that surrounds us? Although it is true that trying to explain the origin of both have limitations, the reality is that Biblical creationism is not only more consistent with the evidence, but also with social reality. We are currently in the middle of the transformation from Martin Heidegger's modern society to a society based on digital technology. In the developing digital society, humans in their current state of 'Being' are increasingly surrounded by systems that are networked and run based on algorithms, software, and data. These interconnected systems function, communicate, and interact in networks and driven by these algorithms, software, and data, which give them the ability to connect, calculate, and reveal. Jointly, these systems thus create a new and actual reality based on their mathematical and scientific background. In the present-day digital society, humans' actual 'state of Being' is increasingly framed by what the digital technology reveals to us and enables. The transition to this new digital reality conjures up more and more questions as to whether we as humans sufficiently understand the essence of digital technology and whether we as humanity have sufficient knowledge and insight to be able to analyze and fathom the essence of the new digital ecology around us. In this article, I will use Heideggerian phenomenology as a philosophy to create a framework that will allow us to, based on phenomenological research into our current 'Dasein' or 'being there', gain deeper insight into the 'Being' of digital technology and the ensuing development of a digital reality for humanity as a whole. This article attempts to identify Georg Lukács' particular contribution to the problem of musical mimesis, as presented in his work The Specificity of the Aesthetic (Die Eigenart des Ästhetischen). Of particular interest is Lukács' solution to the problem of how music, which is so far re moved from reality (using only sounds, not images or concepts), is ultimately - like the other arts - a mimesis (representation) of that reality. Lukács' answer is discussed here through an analysis of his essay on music from The Specificity of the Aesthetic and compar ing it with other approaches (Enlightenment aesthetics and especially the opposing view of Eduard Hanslick). The concluding assessment is that Lukács' musico-aesthetic essay makes an important contribution to the theory of musical mimesis, which has not been sufficiently recognised by contemporary aesthetics. Roland Barthes called attention to the barometer in 'Un Coeur simple' to illustrate the concept of l'effet de reel: the presence of objects which constitute a narrative luxury. For Flaubert's characters too, the barometer represents an objet de luxe since it goes unread. This article examines how humans interact with barometers figuratively and physically in Flaubert's works, and how contemporaneous cultural references view conversations about weather and barometers as evidence of provincial taste. Flaubert's unread barometers may not predict the weather, but they signal the pressure of gratuitous acquisition, preoccupation and conversation, and forebode the consequences of failed interpretation.
