To meet the high-performance trajectory tracking requirements of underactuated autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) under complex disturbances and parameter uncertainty, a three-dimensional trajectory tracking controller method with predefined dynamic performance and convergence time is proposed. Firstly, by extending the forward position channel of the underactuated AUV, and a multi-input multi-output trajectory tracking control-oriented model is developed. Subsequently, by combining dynamic process functions with predefined-time control theory, a dynamic performance-predefined trajectory tracking control system is established, which allows the transient quality of AUV trajectory tracking to be determined by dynamic process functions, and the actual convergence time of tracking errors to be predefined by a single control parameter. Finally, to avoid control singularities and the " differential explosion" phenomenon, the controller design incorporates the absolute value correction method and radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) fitting method. Numerical simulation results indicate that the proposed controller significantly improves the disturbance rejection and transient quality of underactuated AUV, achieving fact, smooth, and High-performance trajectory tracking. Owing that the conventional temperature drift error (TDE) estimation method for capacitive micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) accelerometers (CMA) has demerits of inaccurate TDE traceability and tedious model establishing process, low accuracy and high complexity are introduced inevitably. A precise TDE estimation method of CMA based on micro-deformation analysis is proposed. Firstly, TDE is traced accurately with micro-deformation analysis, and a modified TDE estimation model is established with radial basis function neural network (RBFNN). Secondly, an accurate model identification method is proposed under Expert-Fuzzy assisted decision-making based on expert experience and fuzzy theory, which offers effective structural configuration guidance to the modified model. Then, temperature experiment is designed to test CMA, and the conventional and modified models are evaluated in performance by comparing their bias stability. Experimental results show that the establishing process for the modified model is greatly simplified, and its bias stability is improved by 35%. It ensures that TDE of CMA can be estimated much more precisely, which decouples temperature dependency of Si-based material and improves the environmental adaptability of CMA. So, the consequences of the modeling disclose the large precision of the above-mentioned RBFNN-ACO, GEP Model-I, and GEP Model-II by average absolute percentage relative deviations (AAPRD%) of 6.28%, 6.39%, and 7.45%, respectively. Based on the outliers analysis, nearly 95% of the databank and model estimations are, respectively, valid and reliable. Additionally, the three input variables, including moldic porosity (with a + 70% impact value), non-fabric-selective dissolution (connected) porosity (with a -30% impact value), and interparticle porosity (with a -23% impact value), exhibit the main affecting parameters on the cementation exponent. Comparing current results with traditional literature correlations demonstrates the supremacy of the RBFNN-ACO model (AAPRD = 6.28% and root mean squared error (RMSE) = 0.17) over the examined literature correlations such as Borai's equation (AAPRD = 12.30% and RMSE = 0.41). AbstractFast and accurate wheeling pricing has emerged as an important issue in the recent competitive power market. Embedded cost-based wheeling pricing is well accepted by power market, because it is based on actual flow of power wheeled by them. It also recovers fully the fixed cost of wheeling facility installation and operation. In this article, metaphor-less Rao-3-based ACOPF, MVA-mile method and Bialek tracing has been employed to compute wheeling prices across various generators and loads. In actual power market due to continuously varying load conditions, the computation of wheeling prices is quite a time taking process. Because for computing wheeling prices, the optimal power flow (OPF) program has to be run each time for every loading condition. In this scenario, the artificial neural network (ANN) approach has been found to be very useful, to estimate wheeling prices instantly and accurately for any unseen loading scenario. Here, a number of ANNs have been developed under parallel computing environment. This article presents a metaphor-less Rao-3-based approach to project wheeling prices in the competitive power market by developing a new radial basis function neural network (RBFNN). The present work of wheeling pricing has been demonstrated and examined on IEEE 30-bus system.

This paper focuses on the significant and practical problem that how to improve communication rate between neighbor agents for high-order nonlinear multiagent systems. This issue shall be addressed by establishing a series of event-triggered mechanisms between neighbor agents, such that neighbor signals are transmitted only when the preset events are activated. By utilizing backstepping approach, a novel event-triggered consensus controller design procedure is elaborated. Initially, the uncertainties of the systems are handled by radial basis function neural network, whose unknown weight vectors can be estimated by only one required adaptive law. Next, a novel consensus control strategy is proposed to resolve a contradiction between communication rate and system performance. Stability analysis of the control algorithm is then strictly proved by Lyapunov functional theory. This ensures that all the closed-loop signals remain bounded and the consensus errors converge exponentially to an adjustable domain. Aiming at the common problems of unknown disturbance, nonlinear dynamics and parametric uncertainty in the electro-hydraulic servo system, a backstepping control ( BC) method based on sliding mode observer and radial basis function (RBF) neural network was proposed. Firstly, a three-order strict feedback state space model of the valve-controlled cylinder system was constructed, and the sliding mode observer with finite time convergence characteristics was used to estimate the unknown speed state of the closed-loop system and the uncertain lumped disturbance of mismatched items. Then, the backstepping controller was designed based on the strict feedback model of the valve-controlled cylinder system and command filtered technology. The classic recursive backstepping methodology was utilized to design the nonlinear tracking controller according to the strictly feedback state-space mathematical model. The radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) was used to compensate the estimation error of the system speed and disturbance states, the filtering deviation and the matching term disturbance of the system, etc. According to Lyapunov stability theorem, the asymptotic bounded convergence of the tracking error for the closed-loop system was proved. Finally, valve-controlled cylinder electro-hydraulic control system test platform was established and the tracking performance of the control method on multi frequency reference signals was verified by comparative simulation and experiment. The research results demonstrate that the control method can further improve the trajectory tracking accuracy and robustness. Maximum experimental tracking error Me, average tracking error μ and mean square value of tracking error σ are respectively decreased by 66. 7%, 80%, and 83. 3%. In this article, the research team systematically developed a method to model the kinematics and dynamics of a 3-wheeled robot subjected to external disturbances and sideways wheel sliding. These models will be used to design control laws that compensate for wheel slippage, model uncertainties, and external disturbances. These control algorithms were developed based on dynamic surface control (DSC). An adaptive trajectory tracking DSC algorithm using a fuzzy logic system (AFDSC) and a radial neural network (RBFNN) with a fuzzy logic system were used to overcome the disadvantages of DSC and expand the application domain for non-holonomic wheeled mobile robots with lateral slip (WMR). However, this adaptive fuzzy neural network dynamic surface control (AFNNDSC) adaptive controller ensures the closed system is stable, follows the preset trajectory in the presence of wheel slippage model uncertainty, and is affected by significant amplitude disturbances. The stability and convergence of the closed-loop system are guaranteed based on the Lyapunov analysis. The AFNNDSC adaptive controller is evaluated by simulation on the Matlab/simulink software R2022b and in a steady state. The maximum position error on the right wheel and left wheel is 0.000572 (m) and 0.000523 (m), and the angular velocity tracking error in the right and left wheels of the control method is 0.000394 (rad/s). The experimental results show the theoretical analysis' correctness, the proposed controller's effectiveness, and the possibility of practical applications. Millions of people are dying, and billions of properties are damaged by road traffic accidents each year worldwide. In the case of our country Ethiopia, the effect of traffic accidents is even more by causing injuries, death, and property damage. Forecasting road traffic accident and predicting the severity of road traffic accident contributes a role indirectly in reducing road traffic accidents. This study deals with forecasting the number of accident and prediction of the severity of an accident in the Oromia Special Zone using deep artificial neural network models. Around 6170 road traffic accidents data are collected from Oromia Police Commission Excel data and Oromia Special Zone Traffic Police Department; the dataset consists of accidents in the Special Zone of Oromia Districts (Woredas) from 2005 to 2012 with 15 accidents attributes. 5928 or (80%) of the dataset was used for the training model, and 1482 or (20%) of the dataset was used for the testing model. This study proposed six different neural network architectures such as backpropagation neural network (BPNN), feedforward neural network (FFNN), multilayer perceptron neural network (MLPNN), recurrent neural networks (RNN), radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) and long short-term memory (LSTM) models for accident severity prediction and the LSTM model for a time serious forecasting of number accidents within specified years. The models will take input data, classify accidents, and predict the severity of an accident. Accident predictor GUI has been created using Python Tkinter library for easy accident severity prediction. According to the model performance results, RNN model showed the best prediction accuracy of 97.18%, whereas MLP, LTSM, RBFNN, FFNN, and BPNN models showed the accuracy of 97.13%, 91.00%, 87.00%, 80.56%, and 77.26%, respectively. LTSM model forecasted accident for three years which is 3555 where the actual accident number is 3561. In the present study, we built predictive models of the mechanical properties (Young's modulus, fracture strength and toughness) of α-Al2O3. Experiments carried out on samples produced by spark plasma sintering (SPS). The experimental results were the basis for the evaluation of mathematical models and predictions by both the radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) and multiple linear regression (MLR) models. The results of the comparison of MLR and RBFNN models showed good agreement between the experimental data and the RBFNN model predictions whereas the MLR model reveals modest agreement with the studied mechanical properties. This paper presents an adaptive backstepping-based model-free control (BSMFC) for general high-order nonlinear systems (HNSs) subject to disturbances and unstructured uncertainties to enhance the system tracking performance. The proposed methodology is constructed based on the backstepping control (BSC) with radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) -based time-delayed estimation (TDE) to overcome the obstacle of unknown system dynamics. Additionally, a command-filtered (CF) approach is involved to address the complexity explosion of the BSC design. As the errors arising from approximation, new control laws are established to reduce the effects in this regard. In electrical impedance tomography (EIT) detection of industrial two-phase flows, the Gauss-Newton algorithm is often used for imaging. In complex cases with multiple bubbles, this method has poor imaging accuracy. To address this issue, a new algorithm called the artificial bee colony–optimized radial basis function neural network (ABC-RBFNN) is applied to industrial two-phase flow EIT for the first time. This algorithm aims to enhance the accuracy of image reconstruction in electrical impedance tomography (EIT) technology. The EIDORS-v3.10 software platform is utilized to generate electrode data for a 16-electrode EIT system with varying numbers of bubbles. This generated data is then employed as training data to effectively train the ABC-RBFNN model. The reconstructed electrical impedance image produced from this process is evaluated using the image correlation coefficient (ICC) and root mean square error (RMSE) criteria. Tests conducted on both noisy and noiseless test set data demonstrate that the ABC-RBFNN algorithm achieves a higher ICC value and a lower RMSE value compared to the Gauss–Newton algorithm and the radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) algorithm. These results validate that the ABC-RBFNN algorithm exhibits superior noise immunity. Tests conducted on bubble models of various sizes and quantities, as well as circular bubble models, demonstrate the ABC-RBFNN algorithm's capability to accurately determine the size and shape of bubbles. This outcome confirms the algorithm's generalization ability. Moreover, when experimental data collected from a 16-electrode EIT experimental device is employed as test data, the ABC-RBFNN algorithm consistently and accurately identifies the size and position of the target. The thermal environment behind the integrated strut of the afterburner is very harsh. A double-wall structure is set at the integrated strut flame stabilizer for cooling. The multiobjective optimization of the double-wall cooling structure is carried out by using the RBFNN-coupled nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II), and the complex interaction between the film outflow and the mainstream was explored based on the numerical simulation results. The effects of geometric parameters and external working conditions on the cooling performance of the double wall are studied based on the Sobol method. The results show that the upward spiral vortex behind the strut will press the film outflow to form an irregular air film on the wall, effectively protecting the trailing edge of the strut. The optimized double-wall structure has a better air film coverage effect, and the comprehensive cooling performance has been improved to a certain extent. Compared with the geometric parameters, the mass-flow rate of the cooling gas per unit area has a greater impact on the comprehensive cooling performance of the double wall. Abstract To solve the synchronisation problem associated with fractional‐order hyperchaotic systems, in this study, a new dual‐neural network finite‐time sliding mode control method was developed, and a differential evolution algorithm was used to optimise the switching gain, control parameters, and sliding mode surface parameters, greatly reducing chattering problems in sliding mode controllers. By using the developed method, the complete synchronisation of the drive system and the response system of a fractional‐order hyperchaotic system was realised in a finite time; moreover, the stability of the error system under this method was proved by using Lyapunov stability theorem. Numerical simulation results verified the feasibility and superiority of the method.

A novel robot skill learning method using dynamic movement primitive (DMP) and adaptive control is proposed. The existing DMP method learns actions from a single teaching trajectory, and its Gaussian basis function distribution mode is fixed, which is not suitable for multiple movement trajectories with different characteristics. Therefore, the Gaussian mixture model (GMM) and Gaussian mixture regression are introduced into DMP to enable the robot to learn skills from multi-teaching trajectory. Moreover, radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) is introduced into DMP to establish the RBF-DMP method, which is able to learn the central position and weight of Gaussian basis through gradient descent and improves the accuracy of skill modeling. Furthermore, an adaptive neural network controller is designed to control the learned actions of the manipulator in redemonstration. Finally, experiments on Franka Emika Panda manipulator prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A semi supervised image classification method for satellite images is proposed in this paper. The satellite images contain enormous data that can be used in various applications. The analysis of the data is a tedious task due to the amount of data and the heterogeneity of the data. Thus, in this paper, a Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) trained using Manta Ray Foraging Optimization algorithm (MRFO) is proposed. RBFNN is a three-layer network comprising of input, output, and hidden layers that can process large amounts. The trained network can discover hidden data patterns in unseen data. The learning algorithm and seed selection play a vital role in the performance of the network. The seed selection is done using the spectral indices to further improve the performance of the network. The manta ray foraging optimization algorithm is inspired by the intelligent behaviour of manta rays. It emulates three unique foraging behaviours namelys chain, cyclone, and somersault foraging. The satellite images contain enormous amount of data and thus require exploration in large search space. The spiral movement of the MRFO algorithm enables it to explore large search spaces effectively. The proposed method is applied on pre and post flooding Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) images of New Brunswick area. The method was applied to identify and classify the land cover changes in the area induced by flooding. The images are classified using the proposed method and a change map is developed using post classification comparison. The change map shows that a large amount of agricultural area was washed away due to flooding. The measurement of the affected area in square kilometres is also performed for mitigation activities. The results show that post flooding the area covered by water is increased whereas the vegetated area is decreased. The performance of the proposed method is done with existing state-of-the-art methods.

This article presents a cross-domain robot (CDR) that experiences drive efficiency degradation when operating on water surfaces, similar to drive faults. Moreover, the CDR mathematical model has uncertain parameters and non-negligible water resistance. To solve these problems, a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN)-based active fault-tolerant control (AFTC) algorithm is proposed for the robot both on land and water surfaces. The proposed algorithm consists of a fast non-singular terminal sliding mode controller (NTSMC) and an RBFNN. The RBFNN is used to estimate the impact of drive faults, water resistance, and model parameter uncertainty on the robot and the output value compensates the controller. Additionally, an anti-input saturation control algorithm is designed to prevent driver saturation. To optimize the controller parameters, a human decision search algorithm (HDSA) is proposed, which mimics the decision-making process of a crowd. A framework for Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) to diagnose Cavitary TB and Miliary TB from chest Computed Tomography (CT) slices has been designed and implemented. The lung tissues from the CT slices are segmented using region-based Active Contour Model (ACM) and the Region of Interests (ROIs) labelled by an expert radiologist are extracted. Features based on shape and texture are extracted from each ROI. A wrapper-based Improved Artificial Bee Colony Optimization (I-ABCO) algorithm with the accuracy of the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier as the fitness function is used to select the optimal subset of features. The search process of I-ABCO is improved using two evaluation functions, namely, rough dependency measure (RDM) and mutual information (MI), to promote better exploitation of the search space. The selected features are used to train the Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) classifier, using ten-fold cross validation and the performance is evaluated. Experimentation has been performed on CT slices using two datasets: Tuberculosis dataset and Lung Image Database Consortium-Image Database Resource Initiative (LIDC-IDRI) dataset. The accuracy of the CAD systems using I-ABCO with MI and I-ABCO with RDM for both datasets are (88.34%, 92.63%) and (87.32%, 90.17%), respectively. The CAD system using the basic Artificial Bee Colony Optimization (ABCO) algorithm for feature selection is also experimented with the same datasets and an accuracy of (85.68%, 88%) is achieved. The performance of the proposed algorithms outperforms the ABCO algorithm in diagnostic accuracy, which ensures that selecting the optimal feature subset efficiently has an impact on the classification accuracy. This paper presents optimal energy management for distribution system with Internet of Things (IOT) using hybrid system. The proposed hybrid system is joint performance of Student Psychology Optimization Algorithm (SPOA) and Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) and therefore called SPOA-RBFNN strategy. The main objective of the research work is the optimal energy management through the framework of internet of things and the reduction of costs. In the proposed system, the distribution system is interconnected through the data acquisition module is an IOT object with a unique IP address resulting at large wireless mesh network of devices. The framework collects the RES and load data through centralized server. The collected data is processed by the SPOA-RBFNN strategy. In addition, the proposed system is in charge for meeting the supply and energy demand. This proposed technique reduces the overall system operating costs and increases energy security. Under the persistent excitation (PE) condition, the real dynamics of the nonlinear system can be obtained through the deterministic learning-based radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) control. However, in this scheme, the learning speed and accuracy are limited by the tradeoff between the PE levels and the approximation capabilities of the neural network (NN). Inspired by the frequency domain phase compensation of linear time-invariant (LTI) systems, this paper presents an adaptive phase compensator employing the pure time delay to improve the performance of the deterministic learning-based adaptive feedforward control with the reference input known a priori. When the adaptive phase compensation is applied to the hidden layer of the RBFNN, the nonlinear approximation capability of the RBFNN is effectively improved such that both the learning performance (learning speed and accuracy) and the control performance of the deterministic learning-based control scheme are improved. Theoretical analysis is conducted to prove the stability of the proposed learning control scheme for a class of systems which are affine in the control. Smart traffic congestion reduction is actually a real challenge for big cities. Machine learning algorithms can play a significant role in traffic analysis, congestion prediction, and rerouting. In this paper, we propose a new prediction approach to reduce the traffic congestion problem by studying a scheme for predicting traffic flow information using four machine learning techniques: Feed Forward Neural Networks (FFNN), Radial Basis Function Neural Networks (RBFNN), simple linear regression model, and polynomial linear regression model. This prediction scheme is based on the following parameters: the average waiting time at entry and exit street pairs, the days of the week, hours of movement, holidays, and the rain rate. In this article, the research team systematically developed a method to model the kinematics and dynamics of a 3-wheeled robot subjected to external disturbances and sideways wheel sliding. These models will be used to design control laws that compensate for wheel slippage, model uncertainties, and external disturbances. These control algorithms were developed based on dynamic surface control (DSC). An adaptive trajectory tracking DSC algorithm using a fuzzy logic system (AFDSC) and a radial neural network (RBFNN) with a fuzzy logic system were used to overcome the disadvantages of DSC and expand the application domain for non-holonomic wheeled mobile robots with lateral slip (WMR). However, this adaptive fuzzy neural network dynamic surface control (AFNNDSC) adaptive controller ensures the closed system is stable, follows the preset trajectory in the presence of wheel slippage model uncertainty, and is affected by significant amplitude disturbances. The stability and convergence of the closed-loop system are guaranteed based on the Lyapunov analysis. The AFNNDSC adaptive controller is evaluated by simulation on the Matlab/simulink software R2022b and in a steady state. The maximum position error on the right wheel and left wheel is 0.000572 (m) and 0.000523 (m), and the angular velocity tracking error in the right and left wheels of the control method is 0.000394 (rad/s). The experimental results show the theoretical analysis’ correctness, the proposed controller’s effectiveness, and the possibility of practical applications. The paper proposes an approach to deal with problems stemming from inaccurate elements of car driving simulators and the disadvantages of nonlinear model-based controllers, including the Backstepping and Sliding Mode Control. For this kind of model, it is challenging to design nonlinear model-based controllers to guarantee smooth and accurate movements due to unmodelled parts in the system dynamics and the appearance of external forces. Furthermore, there are well-known demerits in the aforementioned controls, such as 'explosion of terms' and chattering phenomena. The main contribution focuses on constructing an adaptive and robust neural network-based controller with online learning laws, which not only ensures the high accuracy of the robot's motion under uncertain components and external factors but also mitigate the disadvantages of conventional controllers. In this work, the radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) and random forest (RF) algorithms were employed to develop generic AI models predicting mass transfer coefficient in amine‐based CO2 absorber. The models with operating parameters as input gave quite different prediction performance in different CO2 absorption systems. To secure better applicability, extra parameters related to amine type and packing characteristics were introduced to reasonably describe mass transfer behaviors, respectively. Moreover, the generic models were proposed by considering all influencing factors of mass transfer in CO2 absorber column. Furthermore, the performance of BPNN, RBFNN, and RF models was completely compared and fully discussed in terms of AARE. All three generic models could predict mass transfer coefficient of CO2 absorber very well. It was found that the BPNN models provide the best predication with AAREs of below 5%. The developed generic model could serve as a fast and efficient tool for preliminary selection and evaluation of potential amines for CO2 absorption. The framework of generic ML model development was also clearly presented, which could provide theoretical basis and practical guidance for the implementation and application of ML models in the carbon capture field. The mechanical parameter inversion model is an essential part of ensuring dam health; it provides a parametric basis for assessing the safe operational behavior of dams using numerical simulation techniques. Due to the complicated nonlinear mapping relationship between the roller compacted concrete (RCC) dam's mechanical parameters and various environmental quantities, as well as conventional statistical models, machine learning methods, and neural networks fail to consider the inputs of fuzzy uncertainty factors. Therefore, the accuracy, efficiency, and stability of inversion models are usually affected by their modeling methods. In this paper, a novel hybrid model for mechanical parameter inversion of an RCC dam is proposed, which uses a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) to establish the nonlinear mapping relationship between the dam mechanical parameters and the environmental quantities, and the modified particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is used to find the optimal parameters of the model. The modified PSO algorithm makes the inertia weight ω dynamically adjust with the number of iterations to improve the randomness and diversity of the particle population, and population crossover and mutation are introduced to improve the global search ability and convergence speed of the algorithm. The proposed hybrid model is verified and comparatively analyzed by four typical mathematical test functions, and the results show that the proposed model exhibits good performance in parameter inversion accuracy, convergence speed, stability and robustness. Finally, the model is applied to the mechanical parameter inversion analysis of an RCC gravity dam in Henan Province in China. The results show that the proposed model is feasible and reasonable for practical engineering applications, and the relative error between the results obtained by inputting the inverted parameters into the numerical model and monitoring data was within 10%. Farming is an essential sustenance for the progressive population. The development of our country depends on the farmers. Plants endure by many diseases due to environmental factors. So, the farmers need to detect plant diseases at an early stage for appreciable yield. In the beginning, the observing and examining plant disease are examined physically by the expertise in the farming field, which requires a considerable measure of work/ and requires over the top handling time. Now, machine learning concepts eliminate conventional protruding and time-consuming techniques. This paper focuses on a novel method for detecting and identifying paddy leaf diseases at the early stages in Thanjavur region using radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) classifier. Further, it is optimized with salp swarm algorithm (SSA) technique. The proposed method utilizes the data from the TNAU agritech portal, IRRI knowledge bank, UCI machine learning repository databases, which have healthy and diseased images. This work illustrates four categories (Bacterial Blast, Bacterial Blight, Leaf Tungro and Brown Spot) of infected paddy images along with the normal set of images. Initially the preprocessing is performed for the acquired images then K-means segmentation algorithm segregates the image. Gray level co-occurrence matrix extracts the Texture features from the segmented image and the RBFNN classifier performs the disease classification and improves the detection accuracy by optimizing the data using SSA. The investigational results of the proposed methodology exhibit the performance in terms of accuracy of disease detection is 98.47%. However, radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) achieves the diseases detection accuracy of 97.85% and support-vector machine (SVM) classifier achieves a disease detection accuracy of 97.07%. This paper proposes a method of paddy leaf disease recognition and classification using RBFNN and salp swarm algorithm. It also suggests and identifies an image analysis by framing a set of conditions for disease affected plants. Micro-Expressions (ME) has turned out to be one amongst the most vital clues for lies, as well as numerous other applications. It is the brief Facial Expressions (FE) that the people express whilst endeavouring to conceal, hide, or repress their emotions. In a real environment, recognizing facial ME is really very hard than recognizing the general-FE, which shows rich emotions. Here, to attain the most accurate classification outcomes of Micro-Expression Recognition (MER), a combination of Feature Learning (FL) algorithms is proposed. The Video Frames (VF) is taken as the input for MER. First, the inputted-VF is preprocessed and then a Viola-Jones Algorithm is carried out to attain the face images of the VF. The SB-DCNN extracts the Facial Land-Marks as of the face images. Next, for performing the effectual FL, the combination of Weight matrix-based Temporal Accumulated Optical Flow and Improved LBP features (WTAOF-ILPB) are employed. Lastly, to recognize the ME of the input VF, the features as of SB-DCNN and WTAOF-ILPB are rendered to the optimal adaptation of Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN), i.e. Levy Flight based Shuffled Shepherd Optimization Algorithm (LFSSOA)–RBFNN (LFSSOA-RBFNN). There exist universal model uncertainty and input deadzone in mechatronic motion plant due to unknown model parameters and actuator physical feature, which will degrade the motion performance and stability. In this study, a fixed-time event-triggered adaptive control is proposed in n -DOF manipulator system to address these problems. Firstly, the dynamic model of n -DOF manipulator with joint friction and input deadzone is constructed by Lagrange technique. Then a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) is designed to approximate uncertain dynamics. Meanwhile, an event-triggered mechanism (ETM) is used to reduce the control update frequency and to save the communication resource. Furthermore, an adaptive estimation law is adopted to compensate unknown input deadzone parameters. Based on backstepping iteration technique, a fixed-time convergent controller is presented to guarantee the system state errors convergence to zero neighborhood in finite time irrelevant to arbitrary initial state. In electrical impedance tomography (EIT) detection of industrial two-phase flows, the Gauss-Newton algorithm is often used for imaging. In complex cases with multiple bubbles, this method has poor imaging accuracy. To address this issue, a new algorithm called the artificial bee colony–optimized radial basis function neural network (ABC-RBFNN) is applied to industrial two-phase flow EIT for the first time. This algorithm aims to enhance the accuracy of image reconstruction in electrical impedance tomography (EIT) technology. The EIDORS-v3.10 software platform is utilized to generate electrode data for a 16-electrode EIT system with varying numbers of bubbles. This generated data is then employed as training data to effectively train the ABC-RBFNN model. The reconstructed electrical impedance image produced from this process is evaluated using the image correlation coefficient (ICC) and root mean square error (RMSE) criteria. Tests conducted on both noisy and noiseless test set data demonstrate that the ABC-RBFNN algorithm achieves a higher ICC value and a lower RMSE value compared to the Gauss–Newton algorithm and the radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) algorithm. These results validate that the ABC-RBFNN algorithm exhibits superior noise immunity. Tests conducted on bubble models of various sizes and quantities, as well as circular bubble models, demonstrate the ABC-RBFNN algorithm’s capability to accurately determine the size and shape of bubbles. This outcome confirms the algorithm’s generalization ability. Moreover, when experimental data collected from a 16-electrode EIT experimental device is employed as test data, the ABC-RBFNN algorithm consistently and accurately identifies the size and position of the target. This achievement establishes a solid foundation for the practical application of the algorithm.

A novel feedback distributed adaptive control strategy based on radial basis neural network (RBFNN) is proposed for the consensus control of a class of leaderless heterogeneous nonlinear multi-agent systems with the same and different dimensions. The distributed control, which consists of a sequence of comparable matrices or vectors, can make that all the states of each agent to attain consensus dynamic behaviors are defined with similar parameters of each agent with nonidentical dimensions. The coupling weight adaptation laws and the feedback management of neural network weights ensure that all signals in the closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded. Finally, two simulation examples are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the suggested control design strategy.

In practice, the performance of distribution feeder parameter estimation is limited by the measurement conditions in distribution networks. An accurate mathematical model that considers limited phasor measurements in distribution networks is necessary to estimate feeder parameters. This paper presents a set of modified parameter estimation models for unbalanced three-phase distribution feeders that only require the measurements of voltage amplitudes and power flows. To simplify the calculation process and improve the estimated results, a method combined with a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) and multi-run optimization method (MRO), namely RBFNN-MRO, is proposed to calculate the parameters of distribution feeders. The relationship between the feeder parameters and the measurement data from the two terminals of the feeder can be mapped perfectly using the RBFNN. Furthermore, the random errors in the measurement device were eliminated using the proposed RBFNN-MRO algorithm. The RBFNN-MRO algorithm can limit the number of neurons in the hidden layer and substantially reduce the training time for each RBFNN. The feasibility of the proposed method was verified using four IEEE test systems. The proposed RBFNN-MRO and RBFNN methods were compared using the maximum absolute percentage error (MAPE) curves. The results reveal that the proposed RBFNN-MRO method has excellent potential for improving the accuracy of feeder parameter estimation even without synchronized phasor measurement.

BackgroundSuicide is one of the leading causes of death for college students. The predictors of suicidal ideation among college students are inconsistent and few studies have systematically investigated psychological symptoms of college students to predict suicide. Therefore, this study aims to develop a suicidal ideation prediction model and explore important predictors of suicidal ideation among college students in China.MethodsWe recruited 1,500 college students of Sichuan University and followed up for 4 years. Demographic information, behavioral and psychological information of the participants were collected using computer-based questionnaires. The Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) method was used to develop three suicidal ideation risk prediction models and to identify important predictive factors for suicidal ideation among college students.ResultsThe incidence of suicidal ideation among college students in the last 12 months ranged from 3.00 to 4.07%. The prediction accuracies of all the three models were over 91.7%. The area under curve scores were up to 0.96. Previous suicidal ideation and poor subjective sleep quality were the most robust predictors. Poor self-rated mental health has also been identified to be an important predictor. Paranoid symptom, internet addiction, poor self-rated physical health, poor self-rated overall health, emotional abuse, low average annual household income per person and heavy study pressure were potential predictors for suicidal ideation.ConclusionsThe study suggested that the RBFNN method was accurate in predicting suicidal ideation. And students who have ever had previous suicidal ideation and poor sleep quality should be paid consistent attention to.

Nowadays, natural disasters occur frequently in the world, causing a large number of casualties and economic losses. As a typical natural disaster caused by non-human activities, debris flow can not be fully prevented in advance. Therefore, timely emergency rescue and relief work after the disaster is particularly important. This paper takes Yunnan Province, a province with severe debris flow disaster, as an example to discuss the formulation of a reasonable and effective debris flow rescue and relief program, so as to ensure that the rescue and relief work can be carried out in an orderly manner and avoid greater losses caused by disasters. This paper uses a combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to study the deployment of personnel and material resources in the debris flow rescue and relief plan. First, we select the five influencing factors of the 24 ​hours precipitation, the number of rainstorm days in the month, the precipitation and the altitude of the month, and the terrain slope when the debris flow disaster occurs. We obtain the weight of each influencing factor through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and use Fuzzy Evaluation Method to evaluate the risk of debris flow disaster index. Then through qualitative analysis, we concluded that debris flow rescue and disaster relief requires 3 types of rescue team personnel and 6 types of emergency supplies. According to the three indicators of the debris flow risk evaluation index, the affected population, and the direct economic loss of the disaster, the rescue personnel are dealt with through the Radial Basis Function neural network (RBFNN), so as to construct a debris flow rescue and disaster relief plan. Finally, taking the mud-rock flow event in Gongshan County, Nujiang Prefecture, Yunnan Province on May 31, 2018, as an example, a relevant plan for the event was formulated according to the rescue and relief plan constructed in this paper, and the feasibility of the plan was evaluated by comparing with the actual disaster relief data of the event.

Nonlinear sparse data regression and generation have been a long-term challenge in the field of aerodynamics, flow field reconstruction is an area of specific interest in this article. The high computational costs of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) make large scale CFD data production expensive, which is the reason why cheaper methods are needed. Traditional reduced-order models were promising but they cannot generate a large amount of full domain flow field data (FFD) to execute high-precision flow field reconstructions. Motivated by the problem of existing approaches, and inspired by the success of generative adversarial networks (GANs) in the field of computer vision, we prove a theorem that shows the optimal approximation to a GAN discriminator is a radial basis function neural network when engaged in with nonlinear sparse FFD regression and generation. Based on this theorem, a radial basis function-based GAN (RBF-GAN) and a RBF cluster-based GAN (RBFC-GAN) are proposed for regression and generation purposes. Three different datasets are applied to verify the feasibility of our models. The results show that the performance of RBF-GAN and RBFC-GAN are better than that of GANs and conditional GANs (cGANs) by both the mean square error and the MSPE measurements. In addition, compared with GANs/cGANs, the stability of the RBF-GAN and the RBFC-GAN are improved by 34.62 and 72.31%, respectively. Consequently, our proposed models can be used to generate full domain FFD from limited and sparse datasets to meet the requirements of high-precision flow field reconstructions. In this article a novel data-driven iterative learning control (ILC) approach is proposed for unknown nonlinear nonaffine repetitive discrete-time systems, where the dynamic linearization (DL) technique in the iteration domain is applied both on the controlled nonlinear system and on the unknown nonlinear ideal learning controller. Through updating the weight matrix of a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN), the learning control gain of the obtained iterative learning law is automatically tuned in reaching the optimal learning controller using only the input-output data of the nonlinear system. The uniformly ultimately bounded property is established for the tracking error of the proposed ILC scheme in the iteration domain through rigorous theoretical analysis. In this article, we develop a novel approach for detecting patients’ position using the radial basis function of the neural network. This new approach aims to continuously monitor the patients’ health statistics and real-time prediction, even when they are outside of cellular coverage. Our research is driven by an initiative to innovate a novel healthcare system of significant importance for intelligent and efficient medical services. For example, doctors need to remotely monitor any patient’s health with the provided health statistics derived from data collected from battery-powered Internet of Things sensors. To this end, our proposed method has been quantified with a holistic mathematical analysis and extensive simulations considering realistic network situations. In this paper, we aim to improve the tracking performance of the manipulator joint system by establishing accurate friction model based on the Stribeck model and the cubic polynomial method. Meanwhile, in view of the established system model, an adaptive Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) compensation computed-torque controller is designed for the manipulator joint system. Firstly, we consider the friction modeling process at low- and high- velocity regions to advance the model accuracy, and identify the parameters in the friction model equation offline via the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. Secondly, an adaptive RBFNN algorithm is developed to analyze the unmodeled dynamics online and introduce it to the computed-torque controller design. After that, we further conduct the stability analysis for the proposed controller based on the Lyapunov stability criterion. Finally, the self-developed manipulator joint platform introduction, the simulation experiment and the contradistinctive experiments are given to illustrate the effectiveness of designed controller. When a cross-domain robot (CDR) flies on the water surface, the large pitch angle and roll angle may lead to water flooding into the robot cabin or even overturning. In addition, the CDR is influenced by some uncertain parameters and external disturbances, such as the water resistance and current. To constrain the robot attitude angle and improve the robustness of the controller, a non-singular terminal sliding mode asymmetric barrier control (NTSMABC) algorithm is proposed. All the uncertain disturbances are regarded as a lump disturbance, and a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) is designed to compensate for the output of the controllers. Unlike the traditional quadrotors, the robot controls the yaw angle by paddles when the robot flies on the water surface. To prevent the actuator saturation and the robot from rolling over due to excessive yaw angular velocity, an adaptive integral sliding mode barrier control (AISMBC) algorithm is proposed to constrain the yaw angular velocity directly. This algorithm adaptively adjusts the gain of the sliding surface to suppress the influence of the lump disturbance on the robot.
