Cases of predatory environmental exploitation and social calamity are frequent in everyday life. Scholars from different fields clarify the urgency of effective actions to minimize these situations in defense of global existence, which has become even more imperative after the emergence of the pandemic. With this in mind, the present study aims to analyze, from the perspective of social psychology and the philosophy of difference, experiences of affective sustainability in the daily lives of cities. Qualitative methodology was used with the participation of 15 people who were willing to describe their sustainability experiences. As a result, the experiences reported show that caring for oneself, for others, and for nature requires greater attention, especially given the accelerated pace of production that distances the population from caring for social relations, nature, and the common good. With this, it is clear that everyday experiences of individualism, prioritization of accumulation and consumption, as well as competitiveness are some of the factors that contribute to the spread of social and environmental devastation.
