In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, Agile methodologies have emerged as a crucial approach for organizations to remain competitive and responsive to change. Despite the growing adoption of Agile frameworks, there is a lack of quantitative research examining the impact of Agile certifications on individual career trajectories. This study aims to bridge this gap by investigating the relationship between acquiring Agile certifications and career outcomes, specifically focusing on professionals from business administration (BA) and computer science (CS) backgrounds. Employing survival analysis (SA), particularly the Kaplan-Meier method, we assess the temporal dynamics of career advancement events, including job promotions, job transitions, and changes in job responsibilities. Our findings reveal that the most prevalent career advancement is promotion, occurring on average after 1,102.98 days, while the average time for observing at least one career effect is 733.37 days. The study also identifies scrum master and product owner as the most sought-after Agile certifications. These results contribute to the understanding of how Agile methodologies influence career progression and provide valuable insights for professionals, employers, and educational institutions navigating the dynamic landscape of Agile adoption. The findings underscore the importance of Agile certifications in fostering career growth and adaptation to the evolving demands of the industry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives. The purpose of the study was to identify the peculiarities of athletes’ adaptation to post-sport life under modern conditions of reality. Materials and methods. The study involved 36 athletes, Masters of Sports, aged 25 to 40 years, who had finished their professional sports careers in disciplines such as ballroom dancing, artistic gymnastics, football, swimming, and judo. The study used methods of analysis and generalization obtained from scientific-methodical literature and internet data, surveys, and psychodiagnostics: the “Differential Emotions Scale” by C. Izard, adapted by A. Leonova, the “Meaningful Life Orientations” method by D. A. Leontiev, an adapted version of the “Purpose-in-Life Test” (PIL) by James Crumbaugh and Leonard Maholick, as well as the “Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory” (ZTPI) by Zimbardo, P. G., & Boyd, J. N. During the study results’ analysis, the following methods were used: frequency analysis — identification of the frequency of each emotion category (absolute frequencies), and a calculation of percentage values (relative frequencies) for each category relative to the total number of participants. This was also applied to determine the number of athletes belonging to each category of future plans and to define the components of the time perspective; descriptive statistics — calculation of the mean value for each survey scale; these values were used to compare mean values between different scales and to analyze the variability of responses by calculating the standard deviation; percentage calculation. Results. This study examined the post-sport adaptation of 36 athletes using psychodiagnostic methods, thereby uncovering a complex emotional landscape and a variety of future perspectives. The survey results showed that 43% of the respondents had not yet decided what they wanted to become in their post-sports life, indicating significant stress, negative emotions, and physical and psychological problems that require attention and support. A significant portion (40%) of respondents affirmed that they could envisage their future without sports, with 25% choosing to become coaches and 15% interested in sports-related professions. Only 17% of respondents considered their future in other fields. The study also found that 42% of athletes reported having a strongly negative attitude towards leaving professional sports, experiencing feelings such as despair, grief, anger, disgust, and confusion. Another 36% of athletes characterized their emotional state as anxious-depressive, which also requires attention. Meanwhile, 22% of respondents stated a positive emotional attitude towards ending their careers, demonstrating interest in new circumstances and their future, which helps them to transition effectively into new lives. The study results on life orientations revealed that athletes tended to be more focused on past achievements and current goals than on the future, which may complicate their adaptation to post-sports life. Nevertheless, 37% of athletes are oriented towards a positive future and are willing to make efforts to achieve the necessary goals. Therefore, the findings clearly indicate the need for post-sports support and increased attention to the large proportion of former athletes (79%), whose mental health depends on the timeliness and speed of measures taken by specialists. Conclusions. The transition process for athletes after ending their professional careers to a life without sports is defined as individually nuanced, complex, and prolonged; it depends on past career success, is accompanied by stressful situations and negative emotions, and often requires a sudden conclusion to preserve the sense of being a champion.

The purpose of the article is to show the relationship, its strength and nature, between the resilience of performers in the performing arts and their intentions to reorient their careers, particularly towards pursuing dual careers. The research presented in the article sought to answer the questions of what is the level of professional resilience of performers in Poland, and whether and how their resilience is determined by characteristics such as gender, total work seniority and artistic seniority, as well as the pursuit of a dual career or a single – exclusively artistic – career. In particular, it sought to determine whether there were relationships between levels of resilience and performers’ assessment of their situation on the labour market during the pandemic, or between levels of resilience and performers’ attitudes towards: the decline of artistic careers, potential opportunities for career reorientation, and dual career reorientation. The research was quantitative in nature and was conducted through an online survey of 111 performers from Poland. The study found, among other things, that performers are characterised by a high level of resilience, with particularly high self-assessment ratings for speed of learning (mean 4.11), sense of ability to work in a team (mean 4.05) as well as ease of adaptation to new working conditions (mean 3.95). It also showed that the level of resilience of performers is not determined by gender, seniority or career strategy. In addition, it was found that those with higher levels of resilience were less likely to report that the pandemic had made them aware of the need to change their career, for example, to pursue a dual career. The research findings presented in this article fill a knowledge gap in the field of performers’ resilience and are the first such study conducted among Polish performers.

social ideas ,professional career ,subjects ,age evolution ,eff ects ,positive and negative changes ,Education - Abstract
The relevance of the research issue is due to the following: an increase in the length of a person’s working life creates a socially and personally significant ‘second reality’ that comprises the individual’s ideas about oneself, about the profession, success, etc. Purpose: to study the subject’s ideas about one’s career. Hypotheses: 1) The subject’s ideas about their career (as the evolution of professional and working life) act as regulators of the dynamics of the processes of one’s age-related professional evolution. 2) Social experience and personal characteristics act as ‘internal conditions’ that determine the subject’s ideas about their career. Methods (tools): J. Rotter’s Locus of Control Scale (Level of Subjective Control) (in the adaptation of E. F. Bazhin, S. A. Golykina, A. M. Etkind) was used to determine the role of personal characteristics in the formation of ideas; the methodology ‘Dynamics of Professional Career’) (by V. A. Tolochek) was used to solve the direct research tasks. Participants: nurses (n1 = 99), students of a humanitarian university (n2 = 61) and of a technical university (n3 = 90), private security guards (n4 = 62), university teachers (n5 = 37) (Moscow, Volgograd, Samara, Krasnodar). Results: people’s ideas about professional and working life, about the evolution of their qualities aff ect the dynamics of ‘objective’ processes; social experience does not act as a factor that determines the degree of infl uence of external eff ects on human perceptions (including the conditions of professional self-realization in Russia and abroad). The main conclusions. It is necessary to purposefully form constructive ideas of a person about the real conditions of realization in the profession. A broad approach to the issue of human resource management as a ‘reverse economy’ is required (a set of tasks to reduce social costs, optimize the cost of education, training, staff rotation, health restoration, etc.). As a way to coordinate the results of individual studies, it is proposed to use the ‘vector of scientifi c concepts’ - the allocation of a continuum of connections between diff erent concepts of several disciplinary areas. Practical signifi cance. The results of the research can be used to correct particular and strategic tasks of human resource management.

Background. More than half of future teachers in our country receive professional training in classical universities, which determines a great variability of motivational-professional and planned career trajectories. At the same time, the type of university (federal or regional) significantly influences the conditions for forming a professional teacher. This study identifies career orientations of students attending classical universities of different types in order to determine trends in career preferences according to choice of university type. Objective. This study aims to identify the peculiarities of career orientations of students studying at pedagogical bachelor degree programs of classical universities of different types (federal and regional), determining the interrelations of their indicators with socio-demographic and motivational-professional characteristics of the test subjects. Design. The study was conducted in the form of a comparison of career orientations of the first-year students in teacher education programs (83 students of Kazan Federal University and 89 students of Smolensk State University). The empirical methods used included the adapted Schein's career anchors tool and a questionnaire revealing socio-demographic and motivational-professional variables to identify factors related to career orientations. Results. The obtained results revealed common preferences for both universities in career orientations on the service, job stability and lifestyle integration scales, indicating stable trends in choosing the teaching profession. Students at both universities, who chose the teaching profession and plan to work in their specialty, demonstrate a readiness for professional development and overcoming difficulties. However, the university is an independent factor which determines differences according to the scales of entrepreneurship, autonomy and management. Students at a federal university are characterized by greater independence and initiative, but also more uncertainty in choosing a profession, in contrast to students at a regional university. Conclusion. Considering student career orientations according to their socio-demographic and motivational-professional characteristics, allows us to obtain an objective and comprehensive picture of the professional choices of students from different types of universities, leading to more effective delivery of their professional development.

Acquiring technical skills during university education becomes essential for developing professional field-specific capabilities, for which the application of innovative methodologies is recommended. This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of the assessments provided by students on the Pedagogy and Dentistry programmes at the University of Seville (Spain) and the Translation and Interpretation programme at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) to understand their perception of the development of technical skills through the learning contract. Percentages, means, standard deviations and results of non-parametric inferential tests (Kruskal-Wallis and Games Howell) were evaluated between different groups. The results indicate a positive assessment from the students regarding the development of skills related to the organisation and planning of learning, followed by those related to autonomous learning, and lastly, those related to the application of various methods and procedures through the learning contract. Additionally, it is noted that both the participants' qualifications and age substantially influence their perceptions. Thus, it is inferred that the statistically significant differences found may be attributed to prior experience with the use of the methodology itself. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article shares some reflections built from a series of ongoing studies, aimed at investigating teaching practices and training experiences from a (self) biographical-narrative approach. The line of research that brings them together seeks to dispute pedagogical meanings, promote processes of co-training and professional development among peers, and intervene in the educational debate through discursive practices and pedagogical works written by teachers and teachers in training. The notion of bio-library allows us to investigate the processes of identity construction and the formation of a textual corpus that collects and mobilizes the voices of those who find in the narrative records a peculiar way of investigating and enriching the pedagogical field, highlighting its historical character, dynamic, contingent and localized. Undergraduate research (UR) in engineering education is an important active learning strategy, and it is widely used through various implementation styles. Several studies have been conducted to assess the contribution of UR experience in the career path of alumni from an academic point of view and based on graduate studies. This paper is focused on the assessment of UR experience gained through a two-semester long "Undergraduate Research Projects" course sequence, on the professional career of mechatronics engineering alumni. The results of a survey-based investigation show that such UR experience is considered beneficial by the alumni in three main aspects: employment, entrepreneurship and the effect of the obtained knowledge and skills on the professional career. The feedback from the alumni has revealed that this experience contributes significantly to the development of their research abilities. In addition, many graduates emphasized that the UR experience is beneficial for employment as well as for their academic and professional development. The suggestions from the alumni concerning collaboration with the industry, course methodology, and selection of project topics form a basis for systematic UR model development by faculties in the future. The preparation of pedagogical staff who meet the demands of a dynamically developing world is a strategic task that determines the well-being of the society and the state. One of the effective ways to address this task may be to attract motivated applicants to university programs in pedagogical education who are aware of the significance and multi-faceted nature of the teacher’s work, are oriented towards the personal development of students, and are ready to embrace modern technologies and approaches. In this regard, the research focused on identifying the motivations for choosing a pedagogical profession, including career orientations, is especially relevant. The aim of this research is to identify the features of motivation for a professional career among applicants admitted to pedagogical programs and to determine the relationship between their career orientations and socio-demographic and motivational-professional characteristics. The empirical methods of the study included E. Schein’s «Career Anchors» methodology and questionnaire surveys. The study involved 107 applicants and 107 second-year students at Smolensk State University. The results obtained indicate stable trends in the motivation for choosing a pedagogical profession, expressed in the career orientations of «service» and «job stability», which are predominant among the subjects of both studied groups. In addition, applicants who consciously chose a pedagogical profession demonstrate readiness for professional development and overcome difficulties. The indicators of applicants who have experience in pedagogical activities and plans for work in the field, as measured by the scales of «professional competence» and «challenge», are statistically higher than those of individuals with predominantly external motivation for enrollment. These research findings confirm the feasibility of pre-professional training for future teachers.

ideas ,professional career ,age-related evolution ,positive and negative changes ,subjects (nurses) ,Education - Abstract
The relevance of the study is determined the following: increase in the duration of a person’s working life and the expansion of the articulate components of its quality create a socially and psychologically signifi cant “second reality”, by which we mean subjective ideas about one’s profession, about one’s career, and about their social success. The research purpose is to study the ideas of the professional activity subjects about the age-related evolution of their qualities. The article hypothesizes the following ideas: 1) The subjects’ ideas about their professional and working life act as conditions that aff ect the dynamics of their professional evolution. 2) Social experience acts as a factor that infl uences the subjects’ ideas about the age-related evolution of their qualities. Participants: nurses (N = 82), women aged from 21 to 67, Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1 named after Professor S. V. Ochapovsky (Krasnodar). Methods (tools): the locus of subjective control was determined by means of the subjective control questionnaire (SCQ) (J. Rotter adapted by E. F. Bazhina, S. A. Golykina, A. M. Etkind); the original author’s methodology (“Dynamics of Professional Career Questionnaire”) (L. A. Sizova, V. A. Tolochek), which includes several groups of the most informative questions (previously tested and characterized by satisfactory reliability as the technique ‘items’): A) ideas about the dynamics of positive development, that is the development of professionally important qualities at the age of 20–65: 1) learning ability; 2) intuition in the professional sphere; 3) physical performance; 4) intellectual performance. B) ideas about the dynamics of the negative phenomena increase at the age of 20–65: 1) occupational destructions; 2) occupational diseases; 3) life crises. The third set of questions (C) is focused on the respondents’ refl ection on the role of various “factors” in their professional development. Such factors as parents, relatives, friends, family members, work groups, special circumstances, science, art, and religion are considered. The fourth block (D) took into account the socio-demographic and offi cial job-position characteristics of the respondents. Results: working hypotheses have been confi rmed. The research shows that: 1) the use of the original author’s methodology made it possible to identify important “nodes” in the studied connections and determinants, and to identify both typical and professionally specifi c features of the dynamics of the subjects’ age-related evolution; 2) when getting the task of presenting their integral working life, people adequately describe its overall dynamics. At the same time, the level of refl ection in the sample as a whole seems to be insuffi cient, adequate not in every aspect; 3) the subjects’ assessments (nurses of a large medical institution) of the role of external conditions, which optimize and/or aggravate the dynamics of evolution/involution of their qualities and functions, are liable to the powerful infl uence of indirect factors (media, etc.). This refl ects the relevant tasks of correcting negative distortions of social perception of fragments of social reality, as well as the real possibilities of managing people’s ideas about their professional career. Main conclusions: the issue of professional careers in the areas with a “fl at hierarchy” is of current importance and requires further study.

What types of career capital are important for the development of women's managerial careers? 2. What factors influence the success of female managers in their professional careers? 3. What are the key competencies of women performing managerial functions? The research sample consisted of N=742 respondents. The article is based on literature studies, both domestic and international. A systematic review of the literature served to clarify the cognitive gap. Then, our own research was conducted using the diagnostic survey method. Results The research shows that the professional success of the surveyed women is closely related to improving qualifications, balance between all spheres of life, recognition in the professional group, self-fulfillment, and effectiveness in action. At the same time, women do not attach much importance to financial satisfaction and formal manifestations of power, which promotes good communication and translates into effective motivation of subordinates to work effectively, as well as to creativity, innovation, and sharing problems. Conclusions As a result of a critical analysis of literature and own research, the following conclusions were formulated: the surveyed women are aware that educational capital does not guarantee further success in their managerial career and should be constantly developed and improved. As in the case of other forms of career capital, it follows that the accumulation of career capital has a direct impact on the professional success of women in managerial positions.

QUALITATIVE research , *PART songs , *NARRATION , *TEACHERS , *PROFESSIONS - Abstract
In this text, the results of an investigative process are presented whose purpose was to reflect on the becoming of a teacher from the co-construction of 348 stories and 3 life stories of practicing teachers from the department of Antioquia-Colombia. One of the results obtained is the polyphony of voices that is generated from narrations, to from there, on the one hand, understand how it is that we constitute ourselves in the world and society and give meaning and meaning to the teaching profession; and on the other, as an approach to interpreting the world and reality from the qualitative method in educational research, where the biographical perspective, attentive listening and the collective reading of reconstructed texts allow, in their own voice, the subject-teachers to express and narrate the configuration of becoming a master. EMPLOYABILITY , *SOCIAL skills , *CONFIRMATORY factor analysis , *ACADEMIC motivation , *LABOR supply , *LABOR demand - Abstract
The study of employability aims to analyze the skills developed by students and their relevance for obtaining a job. It is about reducing imbalances between labor supply and demand. Carrying out internships in companies has proven to be an important factor in improving employability, because it improves the capabilities of university graduates. This paper has analyzed the role of internships in improving student skills and, consequently, their role in the employability of graduates. For doing the analysis, a questionnaire has been prepared, based on the four employability dimensions derived from the theoretical analysis, which includes ítems referring to: instrumental and interpersonal skills, as well as those related to motivation and the adequacy of the internships to the student’s university training. The questionnaire has been sent to 580 Business Administration and Management (ADE) students at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEE) at the University of Barcelona (UB). A Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was carried out with the results of the survey. The model obtained divided the employability into the four factors previously defined according to the theory: two kind of competences, instrumental competences and interpersonal competences, student’s motivation and the adequacy of the practices. Additionally, the model shows the existence of gender differences related to the motivation of students in carrying out the internships. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The aim of the article was identification and analysis of factors influencing students' career planning and development in Poland and Italy. Design/methodology/approach: The first stage of the research involved an analysis of the source literature and a review of the activities undertaken by universities in order to support students in career planning. This was followed by an analysis of reports on the situation of young people on the labour market in Poland and Italy. The final research method was a diagnostic survey with the use of a questionnaire, which was addressed to students of selected universities in both countries. Findings: Polish and Italian students are aware of their needs regarding their future careers, they are able to formulate career goals and to select a strategy needed to achieve them. However, there are noticeable differences in the implementation of their career plans. These discrepancies may be due to the socio-economic situation of students’ countries of origin. Practical implications: The article is a source of information for both students embarking on their professional careers and employers who will be able to meet the expectations of young employees, as well as universities seeking to create competitive activities in order to support professional development of their students and graduates. Originality/value: The article presents an interesting, comprehensive and comparative study of students in two EU countries, taking into account not only labour market data, but also direct opinions of students and an analysis of the career support activities offered by universities. 28. Maria Manturzewska's model of the lifespan development of professional musicians in the light of recent research and cultural changes.

- Abstract
The lifespan trajectory of musical achievement in the field of classical music and the factors that promote or hinder the development of talent in music are the focus of Manturzewska's model of the lifespan development of professional musicians. This article aims to describe Manturzewska's model briefly, relate it to recent research, and explore the extent to which it fits the diversity of musical careers of contemporary professional musicians. A brief depiction of the developmental model provides insight into the six developmental phases of the model and the factors that influence them. Recent research investigating talent development and career research in music suggests that Manturzewska's theoretical model is largely consistent with findings from expertise research, research examining the determinants of musical development, and current models of talent development. The development of musicians with traditional careers as orchestral musicians in permanent, full-time employment or as successful soloists in contemporary musical culture is likely to be represented largely accurately in Manturzewska's model. However, the diversity of typical portfolio careers, characterized by simultaneous irregular musical and non-musical activities in musical and non-musical fields, cannot be depicted in a single, more-or-less linear development model. Appropriate research, especially long-term studies that model the lifetime development of professional musicians (not only) in classical music, is lacking. Furthermore, Manturzewska's model addresses important aspects that have been insufficiently studied by others, such as the development of professional musicians in the second half of life, and provides a sound and inspiring basis for future research. This article discusses how the evolution of media industry in Canada affects the construction of identities and careers in digital journalism. It is based on 17 in-depth interviews with professionals working in Canadian Anglophone and Francophone media. Based on an interactionist theoretical approach, this article underlines how journalists negotiate their career project in a scenario of precariousness and deterioration of the job market in Canadian journalism. In this regard it highlights the strategies of resistance and resilience adopted by some interviewees in contrast to the international discourses that aim to restructure their practices and identities. This results in a conservative approach to adapting to the professional identity in digital journalism – which in fact translates into segmentation and diversification of the status that comes with this profession. The purpose of this study was to determine how professional athletes in different branches perform their visual self-presentation on Instagram, a social media platform. Embedded design, one of the mixed methods, examined 24 professional athletes. To create the group for study in this research, including football, basketball, tennis and track and field athletes, we used criterion sampling, a purposeful sampling method. Specifically, a total of 5030 posted photos and 854 videos were analysed. In the study, we used thematic coding to conduct content analysis by the subject and purpose of the research (Geurin-Eagleman & Burch, 2016) as well as open coding. Chi-squared was calculated to measure gender differences. Most of the athletes’ shared contents and their likes and comments fell under the theme of business life, followed by personal life content. The professional athletes showed differences according to gender and sport in the themes of what they posted on Instagram. The men posted much more actively than the women. Athletes in individual sports also posted less content than team sport athletes. It was striking how little content these professional athletes, especially women and individual athletes, produced about their fans. This research can contribute to the diversification of research on the brand development and strengthening strategies of athletes in the Instagram application and to better understand the use of Instagram by professional athletes. It can also provide a perspective on Instagram usage strategies for professional athletes and athletes with high-performance potential.

The aim of the article is to present the activities undertaken by students of Polish universities to support their professional capital during the COVID-19 pandemic. It presents the results of nationwide empirical research conducted with the participation of 1,259 male and female students. The research material was collected using an online survey (CAWI – Computer Assisted Web Interview) and subjected to statistical analysis (Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, V-Cramer coefficient and chi-square test were used for this purpose). The survey questionnaire used a tool designed for the study, inspired by the concept of professional capital by Andy Hargreaves and Michael Fullan (2012), in which respondents indicated what actions they took to support career capital during the pandemic. The results obtained indicate that the professional capital of students at that time was at an average level [average of the results obtained: human capital – 2.76 (scale 0–5), decisional capital – 2.45 (scale 0–5), social capital – 1.28 (scale 0–4)], and is manifested to a greater extent by older students studying at non-public universities, achieving high didactic results during studies (average grades obtained above 4.5) and people who were not forced to moving back in with their parents. The data enrich knowledge about how students function during the pandemic and may be useful for career advisors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The availability of internships is determined by the interest in accepting interns if the conditions are agreed upon. Georgia is a legal and social state, which means that the primary function of the legislator is to establish new norms in the relations of the parties or to stop actions from regulation. The state and universities have special functions. There are numerous relations between the economic and legal meanings. The role of the state is considered ambitious. Regulation and abstention may play a defining role so that the legal context does not constrain economic significance. It is necessary to determine which should be implemented in the relations between the parties. Various reasons may determine the basis of the legislative change, but the purpose of this change should be correctly seen. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the Ottoman Empire, the scholarly-bureaucratic career track comprised several interconnected paths of teaching and judgeship positions. Scholarbureaucrats, the civil servants of their day, chose from a variety of career options, and those who were especially successful could rise through the ranks to achieve the top positions in the land. In recent decades, several major studies have examined the careers of scholar-bureaucrats, but most have approached the topic using such conventional methods as qualitative analysis of historical texts and manual manipulation of data. In this article, distinct from previous studies, we adopt the perspective of social network analysis (SNA) to analyze the positions in the careers of Ottoman scholar-bureaucrats as a hierarchical network. Using formal SNA methods, we examine the careers of the 56 scholar-bureaucrats (ulema) in Ottoman government service who reached the two top positions – the chief judgeships (kazaskerlik) of Anatolia and Rumelia – during the period 1516 – 1622. As this article will show, this approach makes it possible to produce new knowledge that is difficult to acquire through conventional historical research, as well as to confirm, correct, and qualify existing knowledge on the subject.

Research demonstrates that a pilot should have specific skills and abilities. Therefore, professional aptitude tests developed by AGAI are used to select the best graduates for the pilot profession. This research investigates the connections between pilots' academic achievement, vocational selection, and careers. The sample comprises 52 subjects who started studying in 2009, 2010, and 2011. They were evaluated based on their maturity examinations, vocational selection, academic achievement, and professional career. We observed that the average scores for the pilots' Lithuanian language, mathematics, and physics maturity examinations are statistically significantly higher (p < 0.05) than the average scores of Lithuanian school graduates. The vast majority of the enrolled students completed their studies and began work in their field of specialty. The academic achievement of those working as pilots (a person who has completed 5 years of pilot studies and works as a captain or first officer) differ in that their average scores in physical study subjects are statistically significantly higher. The graduates who received higher study scores during this study show a statistically significant frequency in their employment as pilots (2–4 quartile). These research findings show that academic achievement and vocational selection are characteristics of those who work as pilots. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract Background The approach to the education and professional advancement of physiotherapists is particularly relevant today. To date, no studies have compared the perceptions of physiotherapists regarding professional issues in geographically close European countries such as Poland and Germany. Therefore, this study’s purpose was to compare Polish and German physiotherapists’ perceptions related to their profession, entry-level education, and career opportunities. Methods We recruited 565 physiotherapists from Poland and 560 physiotherapists from Germany. An opinion polling method based on a questionnaire was applied in the study. The survey was conducted in 48 facilities located throughout the territories of the two countries. The assessment focused on the following three issues: 1) professional education (form and content of educational programs, organizational aspects, and effects of education); 2) professional development and career opportunities; and 3) the relationship between years of service and perceptions of professional education, career satisfaction and advancement opportunities. Results German respondents rated specific aspects of their education, development opportunities and professional careers more highly than their Polish counterparts (p = 0.001). A highly significant negative correlation was identified in both groups between all the assessed aspects of professional education and years of service (0.9 ≤ |R|

Introduction. Public health as an academic discipline is taught at different academical levels all around the world. In Poland, the first School of Public Health was launched in 1991 in the city of Krakow, becoming then a part of the Jagiellonian University Medical College. Through more than three decades, this educational entity (Institute of Public Health Jagiellonian University Medical College; IPH JU MC) has educated hundreds of graduates who work for various healthcare stakeholders. Aim. The goal of this study was to find the benefits resulting from studying public health, based on the experiences of IPH JU MC graduates, as well as to characterize the experiences gained and the skills developed during university studies of public health. Material and Methods. Based on 46 interviews conducted with public health graduates, a qualitative analysis was made using NVivo 12 software. Interviews' content was analyzed with the use of eight codes related to issues mentioned by graduates: EPH (EuroPubHealth), EBM, data analysis, English, project, HTA, practical placement, and students' scientific clubs. Results and conclusions. In the interviews the graduates indicated the role of skills gained during education at IPH JU MC, e.g., drawing conclusions based on scientific research, taking part in many public health projects, better language skills thanks to English specialization path, working in the international environment. The results have shown that experiences gained during university studies of public health allow for career development in the healthcare sector. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Due to the widespread use of the Internet, digital space has now pervaded schools. This study aimed to investigate student-teachers' perspectives and experiences of digital citizenship through project-based learning in a teacher institution in Indonesia. A case study research design was employed using content analysis to analyze the data from semi-structured interviews, observation, and daily journal report. The results showed that technology overuse requires moral guidance in terms of digital citizenship. The student-teachers viewed that digital citizenship provides some principles that encompass knowledge, skills, and appropriate behavior to use technology safely and responsibly. They asserted that digital citizenship is a necessary skill for prospective teachers, particularly considering the growing demand for schools to develop character education programs that address the topic of student technology use. After engaging in digital-issue-driven project-based learning, the student-teachers opined that project-based learning will be beneficial tolearners' autonomy engagement in constructing an understanding of the digital world. Project-based learning also provides opportunities for learners to advance and grow digital skills that are relevant to the 21st century within a real-world context. This study has implications for educators, school principals, and policymakers in ensuring that youths access curricula at all grade levels for them to be able to show appropriate and responsible behavior in both online and offline environments.
