Various approaches to investigating the sources of inequality in education are discussed in the paper. It is noted that data on the representation of students from families with various parental status at levels of education do not give a full picture of what is happening. Full-fledged interpretation requires to turn to a much larger amount of information, primarily because an influence of the family and the environment during the period of primary socialization is of decisive importance for the formation of chances in the educational sphere. The social experience of the family, the models of social behavior based on it, the developed cultural patterns, strategies, and tactics are important. At the same time, the orientations towards education are not fixed once and for all; they can be transformed if the general situation changes (for example, economic) or a directed influence is made (for example, pedagogical). The formed orientations are, as it were, a starting position and later sets the direction and speed of possible reflection on certain influences. The pandemic and the resulting intensification of distance learning have sharply increased the importance of motivation and other students’ qualities, formed during the period of primary socialization: they are critical for academic success. The accompanying growth of inequality in education has actualized the search for its sources to find means to overcome or at least reduce it. Equalization of opportunities for young people from all social groups is especially important for the growth of human potential.

Apparently contradictory, the theories that explain the genesis of school deviance focus their attention on dimensions and levels of analysis, which result from the multifactorial nature of deviant behavior. In this article, we will present the main factors that contribute to the appearance and perpetuation of school deviance in the first years of life, during primary socialization, using both theoretical perspectives in sociology, psychosychology and pedagogy and the conclusions of field research on the causality phenomena, respectively to the methods and strategies for ameliorating these phenomena depending on the etiological factors. Primary socialization, the first stage of the process of becoming the individual as a social actor, takes place in the first years of life and results in the formation of a set of values and attitudes that will guide the individual in subsequent actions. In this article, we started from the hypothesis that the family and the school, as the main agents of socialization in the first 7 years of life, play a decisive role in the child's subsequent decision to violate school rules and leave school. We analyzed the literature to find out if and to what extent the stated hypothesis is confirmed by theoretical models and field research conducted so far

SOCIALIZATION , *RELIGIOUS education , *SECULAR education , *RELIGIOUSNESS , *YOUNG adult psychology - Abstract
A recurrent critique towards socialization theory is its emphasis on stability and disregard for change. Some case studies in the YARG project, particularly that of Ghana, do indeed point to the central role and influence that young adults ascribe to their primary socialization agents. In these contexts, personal religiosity is described as being in accordance with the values of parents and family, making religious transmission from one generation to another appear like a seamless affair. However, data from these contexts also point to how secondary socialization agents, such as peers, media and secular education, play a central role for how young adults maintain their personal religiosity. The aim of this paper is to analyze how young adults in Ghana, India and Poland describe the role of primary socialization agents on their religiosity, but also, to critically discern this influence as against that of secondary socialization agents. This article builds on both survey and interview data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This article presents the results of a survey conducted between 2018 and 2019 in Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The survey involved men convicted of perpetrating violence against women (VAW) analysis of the forms of socialization to which were subjected male perpetrators of violence against women condemned under the Federal Law 11,340 (known in the country as Maria da Penha Law) that criminalizes VAW. Based on that survey, the study investigated how those men were socialized, aiming to determine patterns referring to practices based on beliefs and customs, moral values in which these men, perpetrators of intimate violence against women, were socialized. Convicted by Brazilian law, in 2019 they were sentenced to attend reflection groups. In this study, qualitative and quantitative methods were used to reconstruct the memory of VAW perpetrators and to analyze the data generated in the research. Among the three phenomena described in the study, I highlight “the imprisoned social order”. To describe this phenomenon, practices originating from moral standards and standards of masculinity learned in childhood and adolescence are analyzed, relating them to the changes in customs that are taking place in the country, which in turn are linked to new laws, approved by parliament for greater protection of women subjected to violence., Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa realizada entre 2018 e 2020 em Belo Horizonte, capital de Minas Gerais, Brasil. SOCIALIZATION , *MORAL education , *MORAL development , *DEVIANT behavior , *YOUNG adults - Abstract
Socialization is the process by which individuals learn, gradually, through interaction with other peers and participation in social life, norms, values, thinking and knowledge of a particular culture of birth, or in other words, socialization is the interactive communication of values, norms and methods of behavior specific to a group or a society, throughout his life. Deviance is a set of behaviors and conditions that group members judge the most inconsistent with their expectations, norms and values, and which, therefore, are most likely to awaken within them reprobation and sanctions. The dimensions of the concept of socialization are primary socialization and secondary socialization. The concept of deviance, which is analyzed in this project is moral deviance. The indicators used to characterize the concept of socialization in this research: the word socialization, and socialization through example. The indicators used to characterize the concept of moral deviance in this research: honesty, politeness, honesty, kindness This study notes that if the moral education received is very rich in the family, moral deviance is lower. This indicates the direction one needs to approach, and perhaps the only possible solution to avoid moral deviance of youth: a very rich family in moral education, both in word and deed, beginning from the earliest childhood. Thus grew the teen and the young, can, when he comes in the life of a very active group of friends, to maintain clean and moral ideals, learned from infancy, to represent his second nature. Legislation Orthodox Church encoding rules and moral imperatives of the ecclesial community can provide all the social actors specific tools for stakeholders in the educational process, to be able to reintegrate socially young people who suffer from deviant moral installed in its own existence. Extant research on the dispositional dimensions of coping strategies emphasizes the personality determinants behind the different ways through which individuals seek to tolerate, minimize, and overcome stressful situations. We offer a sociological complement to this perspective. To do so, we conducted a qualitative inquiry of Brazilian new middle-class consumers who are facing the current economic crisis after having experienced more than a decade of expansion in consumption. We identify five sets of coping strategies through which consumers minimize the effects of the crisis and remain invested in consumer culture. We also demonstrate how such strategies are differently informed by dispositional elements that stem from primary and secondary socializations. We contribute to a sociological account of the shaping of the cognitive, emotional, and social resources individuals deploy to cope with the crisis as well as with an empirical account of the lived effects of current Brazilian crisis. Menim, da prehodna zgodovinska obdobja preko kolektivnega in historičnega spomina do določene mere formirajo in vzdržujejo nekatere vzorce vedenja, katere bom poskušal odkriti in primerjati. V zaključku diplomske naloge predstavim dobljene rezultate in jih argumentiram. In my graduation thesis work I research the possible transfer of unconscious patterns of behaviour from the older to the middle aged generation on a collective level in Slovenia. In the introduction I talk about different patterns of behaviour. After that I talk about family and primary socialization as being the first factors when forming patterns of behaviour after the birth of an individual. I continue with the secondary socialization as a continued integration process of an individual into his social enviroment. In the end of the theoretical introduction I also touch on the subject of memory as a product of our biological brain which helps us to remember, abstract and interpret and also collective memmory as a social phenomenon of memory transmission. In my analysis I try to encorporate stories of three different generations of people with the help of the people who participated in the study. First of the parents of the participants who lived in the times of the second world war, secondly the participants themselves who lived in the time after the war and finally the children of the participants. It is my belief that the different historical periods through collective and historical memory to some extend form and maintain certain patterns of behaviour, which I will try to uncover and compare. In the end of my thesis work I interpret and argue about the results of my research.

Não recebi financiamento During 2019, in Belo Horizonte (MG), a total of 456 men who committed violence, punished by the Law 11.340 (Maria da Penha Law), were referred by the justice system to serve part of their alternative sentence in existing reflection groups in two programs in the city: Albam Institute and Dialogar Program of Civil Police of Minas Gerais State. There were respondents found by this survey. The data obtained resulted from the application of questionnaires to 30% of the total number of participants in these reflection groups operating in Belo Horizonte that year - meaning the application of 137 questionnaires related to childhood and 137 questionnaires on youth. The main purpose of this research was to carry out an empirical study in Belo Horizonte that would allow to find patterns related to practices based on beliefs and customs, moral values in which men who committed violence against women in intimate relationships were socialized, punished by the Maria da Penha Law. The way to make this proposal viable was to reconstruct the memories of primary and secondary socialization of these men, in view of an approximation with the dimension of the habitus (conf. Bourdieu 1979:164; e Bourdieu, 1980:88 e 89; Bourdieu, 1987:81structured in this trajectory. The tested hypothesis was built from the objective of exploring a little more the notion of an increase in violence associated with a movement to change the patterns of masculinity, in view of the notions brought by Connell and Messersmith (1985 and 2013); Walby (1991), Patman (1998), Bourdieu (1998) and Segato (2006).

- Abstract
This research paper focuses on the description of the development of a self-concept in relation with social interaction that happens between children and other adults or partners. 312 children were chosen of both sexes between the ages of 3 and 7. All of them were registered in educational institutions such as kindergarten, pre-nursery, nursery and first grade. The Inventory on Development Battelle was applied in an empirical and analytical study with a transactional and descriptive design. The results given showed that a child who is not provided with the social procurement for his age, presents a low emotional development. In this manner, a low self-concept was correlated with difficulties of interaction with adults or parents. In this way, the stimulating and strengthening of the personal and social development in the infancy, both in the family and in the school, is very important. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

An anthropological interpretation of nurses’ and patients’ perceptions of the use of space and touch The use of touch and space by nursing staff is critical in all aspects of patient care. How patients and nurses perceive the use and possible abuse of these encounters is the subject of this research. Data were collected through participant observation and semi-structured interviews with staff and patients. Interpretation of data was inherently from an anthropological perspective. There were some similarities between staff and patients’ perceptions of space/touch interactions, for example what constituted personal space, but also some differences, which may have implications for clinical practice, namely gender and age of both staff and patients during intimate tasks. The construction of the ward environment was identified as being crucial in developing a ‘new reality’, within which altered expectations emerged as to what was considered to be acceptable or unacceptable behaviour. The conflict between primary and professional socialization is an issue which may need to be examined further in educational institutions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The conceptualization of predisposition to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) is summarized by three models: (1) predisposition due to preexisting psychopathology, (2) predisposition due to preexisting traits or characteristics considered normal, and (3) predisposition due to preexisting experience of specified stressors in family of origin. The investigation reported can be subsumed under the third model. The study involved the exploration of major stressors found in families of origin of 40 veterans, 20 who later developed PTSD and 20 who did not develop PTSD, with key demographic and military service variables balanced across groups. Additionally, the study focused on childhood perceptions of major stressors in family of origin. Findings suggest PTSD veterans had greater childhood stress related to parental alcoholism and unemployment than did non-PTSD counterparts. Further, the data suggest two major sets of childhood perceptions separate the two groups of veterans: (1) parental alcoholism/unemployment in the perception of PTSD participants, and (2) parental strictness/delegation of responsibility in the perception of non-PTSD participants. Methodological refinements are discussed that are needed to better hone in on the connection between family system stressors during primary socialization, subsequent phenomenology, and risk for PTSD. Abstract This article is the product of a qualitative study done in Bogotá between August 2013 and March 2015. Thirty semi-structured interviews were done with pediatricians and caregivers of children less than six years old who had been brought for medical consultation because they were "not eating" but who were diagnosed as healthy after the medical examination. The paradox results from the difficulty to explain and understand why some children who "do not eat", according to parents or guardians, do not show any medical criteria that could be considered as illness. Framed in the analysis model in which Illness, Disease and Sickness are three different but complementary forms, "not eating" is seen as a sociological problem in which the explanatory system of beliefs, guidelines and practices of raising children on the part of the parents or caretakers during the first socialization process marks the beginning and the development of a conflict at the moment of the feeding that ends up as a motive for a visit to the pediatrician. In the same way with other aspects of parenting, eating is a negotiation between various biological and cultural characteristics that can be problematic, causing unexpected clashes between adults and children during the socialization process. Finally, it is seen that that children "not eating" is a problematic manifestation of how society conceives of childhood - in the discourse of rights - and the role of parents, who end up in a crisis of meaning. This thesis is the interpretative product of a qualitative investigation realized in Bogotá, for which thirty semiestructurated interviews were done to pediatricians and children caregivers who search for medical help because the boy or girls “don´t eat” but after the medical exam were considered as healthy. With the model of Illness, Disease and Sickness, three different but complementary ways of approaching a complaint, it was found that this “don´t eat” problem is a sociological one and the articulation of the activation of the explicative system of beliefs, patterns, and practices of the parents during the primary socialization process of the small ones involved, begging the conflict in the moment that eating starts to be a motive of pediatric consult; showing the biologic and cultural characteristics of alimentation during upbringing as the codependence between them. Finally, arguments were found to consider that this is problematic manifestation of the way that actually is conceived childhood with the wrights speech as the role played by parents in society, this last one in a meaning crisis. 33.
In this way, the stimulating and strengthening of the personal and social development in the infancy, both in the family and in the school, is very important., Este artículo de investigación describe el autoconcepto en relación con la interacción social que se da entre los niños y las demás personas, ya sean adultos o compañeros.

The purpose of this work is to analyze the main changes undergone by both school and society in the recent years, focusing on how school happened to take a leading role in primary social development of children. In order to fully understand this current situation different factors such as 1973 oil crisis or the feminist movement that prompted the entry of women into the labour market will be taken into account. In addition to this, to see more clearly how important socialization is during early childhood a case of study of an immigrant child with late entry is given. Being from a different country and having a different culture, this is an ideal scenario to also review the recent migratory movements that have led to a new landscape of cultural diversity in society and their effect in nursery school. Nowadays, there are two primary agents (Family and kindergarden) that they are going to manage of the socializing process of the child during the first year of their life. While a great diversity of values is attributed to nature, the usual social determinants, such as socioprofessional category, age or gender, have proven to be of little explanatory value. This article explores the role of socialization, and more specifically of primary socialization, in the type of value that individuals assign to nature. The investigation took place in the sub-Antarctic islands: there, nature is valued in a non-utilitarian and non-market context, which allows for the expression of a wide range of values. We have analyzed the correspondence between the forms of socialization of individuals to nature and the values they assign to it. The main distinction puts into tension two instances of primary socialization: families and peer groups. Families lead to a dominant and abstract evaluation of nature whereas peer groups lead to an egalitarian and concrete evaluation. On the other hand, those who were not socialized to nature in childhood tend to emphasize the the self-esteem provided by their adult experience of nature. Although the majority of trajectories are linear, reinforcements or alterations are possible, showing that certain forms of secondary socialisation can change the values attributed to nature.

- Abstract
It tries to explain their paths by reconstructing their “careers” to raise the question of their socialization as chiefs (both as a profession and as a social status). In doing so, it shows how different colonial mechanisms have partly shaped the uses of political heredity in Senegal. On the other hand, this work raises the question of the biographical implications of independence for former intermediaries of colonial power, and of the changeover of their dispositions in the independent states.`!-- Fin du contenu @xml:lang="en" --b
