Objective: To evaluate smartphone addiction and postural alterations in the cervical region in adolescents. Methods: A cross-sectional study with 281 adolescents (15 to 19 years old), attending the 1st to the 3rd grades of High School, carried out between September and October 2019 in the city of Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. Data collection took place in two stages. In the first, they answered four self-administered questionnaires: sociodemographic questionnaire, health conditions and smartphone use, Nordic Musculoskeletal Symptom Questionnaire (NMQ), SelfReport Questionnaire (SRQ-20) and the Smartphone Addiction Inventory (SPAI-BR). In the second stage, they were submitted to photogrammetry using the Postural Assessment Software (SAPO) and anthropometric assessment (weight and height). The software SPSS Statistics version 23.0 was used for data analysis. Results: Of the total number of adolescents, 63.3% (n=178) showed smartphone addiction, using it for 5.8 hours (±3.5) during the week and 8.7 (±4.0) hours on the weekend. When analyzing postural alignment in the anterior view, a significant reduction in the lateral head tilt was observed when typing on the smartphone (p=0.002) compared to the anatomical position (baseline). In the lateral view, an increase in head anteriorization was observed during smartphone use (p<0.05). There was an association between smartphone addiction and head anteriorization (p<0.05). Conclusions: The use of the smartphone in the typing position causes postural alterations in the cervical region, especially in adolescents with smartphone addiction. Therefore, health promotion measures that alert adolescents to the adverse effects caused by prolonged smartphone use are necessary. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
To construct and validate a questionnaire for assessing teachers' self-perception of their posture, and their perception of students' posture habits in different situations in the school environment. 7-step were performed for the construction of the questionnaire. The content validation strategy was judged by a panel of experts and the Validity Index (VI). Test-retest reliability was performed with teachers and measured by the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) and Kappa Coefficient (KC). Eleven experts with a doctorate, experience in education, and the field of posture participated in content validation and 40 teachers participated in test-retest reliability. VI measurements were all above 0.81, and the overall mean of ICC and KC were 0.94 and 0.91, respectively. This questionnaire was considered valid, reliable, and feasible with language understandable to teachers. It can be recommended for research in schools, and posture education programs, contributing to the prevention of inadequate posture habits and their consequences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article shows that the generic hybridity perceived and proven in the text of Nora Sari was an effect of the stakes of various tendencies of the context of production in the choice of the subject to treat: on one hand, the life of the family and the self-story of the main character of the novel; on the other hand, the historical context prevailing during the period concerning this slice of life. This hybridity reveals a concern for posture in line with the discourses and orientations of the social and l iterary field within which the novelist seeks to inscribe her place. It also shows a desire to overcome a deep split in the issue of languages in this same field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Brazilian agriculture is a major source of economic growth for the country, being one of the largest in the world, particularly prominent since colonial times. The study of postures in milking parlors is important to evaluate factors that may lead to the overload of body structures. Objective: To identify the main postural changes resulting from work activities in milkers, and to relate the degree of postural alteration with the years worked in the field, and their main functional complications. Method: This study is a cross-sectional, observational analytic research, conducted in the city of Pilar de Goiás. The STROBE methodology was used. Results: The main postural changes resulting from work activities found in milkers were rightward head tilt, forward head positioning, higher left acromion and anterior superior iliac spine, genu varum and genu flexum, and feet in valgus position. Conclusion: The main musculoskeletal dysfunctions found in rural producers are acquired due to years of work in incorrect postures, which are the main cause leading to their disability. Thus, an early change in postural habits can promote an improvement in the quality of life of these workers during old age. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It aims to verify the effect of athe hydrokinesiotherapy program on the posture and musculoskeletal disorders of the elderly at the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (UNATI PUC-GO). Quasi-experimental study, lasted four months, twice a week, for fifty minutes. Posture was evaluated by Alcimage 2.1® Computerized Biophotogrammetry and disturbances by the Nordic Questionnaire of Musculoskeletal Symptoms. Statistical analysis was performed in SPSS version 23.0, using the Shapiro-Wilk test (n<50) to determine data normality, to compare posture data before and after the program, Student's t - test was used for parametric data and Wilcoxon for non-parametric data and to compare musculoskeletal symptoms before and after the program, the Mcnemar test was used. Adopted significance level p<0.05. The sample was composed of 29 seniors, 27 women, mean age of 69.71 years and, a mean BMI of 27.60 kg/m2. Statistically significant differences were found before and after the program in the posture of the angles of head inclination (p = 0.04), of the iliac crest-ASIS in the right lateral view (p = 0.03), and between the trochanterline joint in the left lateral view (p = 0.00). Regarding musculoskeletal disorders, no statistically significant differences were found. It was observed that the program was effective in improving the body awareness of the elderly, an extremely important gain for the posture of the elderly. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Cervicalgia is a musculoskeletal illness that is less common than low back pain (LBP). However, with the rise of remote work, there has been a significant increase in the worsening of neck pain, affecting around 50% of cases during the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) pandemic emergency. This article examines various working positions using advanced technological tools to analyze the posture of patients: inertial motion sensors are placed on the head to track head movements, while wireless surface electromyographic probes are used to record muscle activity during the sustained maintenance of uncomfortable postures. WOMEN authors ,CZECHS ,POETRY collections ,NINETEENTH century ,ENCYCLOPEDIAS & dictionaries - Abstract
The idea of the woman writer in the Czech literary field of the first half of the 19th century was informed by the male mystifications of Czech women writers. In literary communication, their creators modelled female writers who never existed, invented their life stories and attributed to them the qualities they believed Czech women writers should possess. The first Czech circle of women patriots and writers then had to cope with this legacy. They used a variety of strategies to make their way: their debut collections of poems would refer to their fictional predecessors, they would work on the Czech encyclopaedia, combine writing with educational work, or smoke in public - the last of which was supposed to give the Czech author a George Sandian worldliness. To analyse their positions in the literary field of the first half of the 19th century, I use the term posture, which, following Alain Viala, the Swiss scholar Jérôme Meizoz understands as a unique way of taking a position in the literary field. In the context of history and language, the term posture has two dimensions: it is simultaneously defined as an act and as a discourse. On the one hand, it refers to self-representations within public discourses in literary situations, and on the other hand, it refers to the image itself given through discourse, which rhetoric refers to as ethos. Background: Individuals with Parkinson disease (PD) may have a flexed posture, but only axial postural abnormalities (PAs) are generally investigated. Purpose: The objective was to verify if PAs of the axial and appendicular skeleton observed in PD occur in an interrelated manner to maintain balance and physical function. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study. Sixty-nine individuals with PD were evaluated by computerized photogrammetry. The MDS-UPDRS scale was used to analyze the physical function and the Mini-BESTest to assess balance. To determine the relationship between PAs and clinical aspects, multiple linear regression analysis was performed, setting age and levodopa equivalent dose as covariates. Results: The anterior trunk inclination angles were significantly correlated with the flexion angles of the elbows, hips and knees (p˂0.01). Larger head flexion was correlated with worsening physical function (p=0.013) and gait (p=0.043); greater trunk, hip and knee flexion were correlated with reduced postural instability (p˂0.05), and greater knee flexion was correlated with improvements in gait deficits (p=0.013). Conclusion: Postural abnormalities in the axial and appendicular joints of people with PD appear to occur in an organized and interrelated manner as a body compensation used to improve physical function and reduce balance and gait deficits.

The feet are the first part of the body to come into contact with the ground during walking, its main objective is to receive and distribute the body's weight. Some studies highlight that the use of high heels increases the angle of lumbar lordosis, promotingpostural changes that require compensatory adjustments to maintain balance. Considering the growing use of high-heeled shoes, this study aimed to investigate the influence of the use of high-heeled shoes in women on musculoskeletal structures, assess pain, flexibility of the posterior muscle chain, and also analyze posture. Women who wear high-heeled shoes for at least 6 hours a day, twice a week, in the last 6 months, with a heel equal to or greater than 6 centimeters, were included. Thirteen female subjects participated in the research, with an average age of 30.07 ± 7.78 years, the average time in years that the participants use this shoe was 12.23 ± 8.53, while the average time in years in hours per day it was 7.30 ± 1.79, according to the Analogic visual scale the mean pain among women was 3.69 ± 2.49, in the posterior chain flexibility assessment, using the Wells bank, the mean among the participants, it was 28.81 ± 11.15, concluding that within the population evaluated, the use of this type of high-heeled shoes leads to muscle shortening, high pain and postural changes. The Jibacoa region is a rice producing region generating high amounts of husk, used as an alternative for fertilizer. The convenience of tube technology for seedling production using rice husk combined with soil, as a substrate, is an option to produce coffee seedlings in the region. The experiment was carried out in the nursery of the Jibacoa Agroforestry Experimental Station, Villa Clara province, Cuba, located at 22°.01'N and 79°.58'W, in the period between November 2019 and June 2020. The effect of different proportions of burned rice husks (BRH)., soil and different Multicote® doses on the development of coffee seedlings established in tubes as containers was evaluated. A factorial completely randomized experimental design was used with 26 treatments. Seven months after the establishment, the variables height, stem diameter, number of paired leaves, leaf area and total dry mass were evaluated in 20 plants per treatment: The treatment consisting of 25% BRH + 75% soil + 3 g of Multicote® reported the highest mean values of height, stem diameter and number of leaves of seedlings of Coffea arabica L. Variety "Island 6_14. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is one of the most complex joints in the human body, being responsible for the movement of opening and closing the mouth. Dysfunctions that affect the temporomandibular joint have a multifactorial etiology that includes: the joint itself, the chewing muscles and other structures of the stomatognathic system. In this sense, postural movements can be associated as a predisposing factor for temporomandibular disorder (TMD), when analyzing the negative repercussions of body movements reflected in the TMJ. In this way, it is clear that a better understanding of such conditions would therefore contribute to more accurate diagnoses and more comprehensive, coherent and, consequently, more effective therapeutic approaches. A systematic review of the literature was carried out, with the aim of searching for works that support the impact between craniocervical posture and temporomandibular disorders, using references from scientific articles from the last five years in Portuguese and English. - Abstract
The literature that explains the neurological mechanisms underlying the development or compensation of idiopathic scoliosis is limited. The objective of the article is to describe and integrate the mechanisms and nerve pathways through which idiopathic scoliosis is compensated and/or developed. A narrative systematic review in different databases of the studies published between January 1, 1967 and April 1, 2021 was performed, using the following terms: «scoliosis», «vision», «eye», «vestibule», «labyrinth», «posture», «balance», «eye movements», «cerebellum», «proprioception», and «physiological adaptation». In the search, 1112 references were identified, of which 50 were finally included: 46 observational analytical clinical studies-descriptive (between cohorts, report and series of cases) and 4 experimental studies. In the neurological response to idiopathic scoliosis, the sensory-cortical integration of the afferences in the visual-oculomotor-vestibular-proprioceptive systems, allows modifications at the postural level in order to achieve an initial compensation on the sagittal balance and the centre of body mass; however, over time these compensation mechanisms may be exhausted causing progression of the initial deformity. - Abstract
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Contextualization: Fibro Geloid Edema (FEG), also known as cellulite, is a common dermatological condition with concentration preferably in thighs and buttocks. Its presence and degree of commitment are related to various factors such as biotype, age, gender, circulatory disturbances. It is suggested a possible relationship with postural changes. Objectives: This research aims to evaluate the existence of the relationship between postural deviations and cellulite. Methods: This is a transverse observational study, with a sample of 33 participants, aged 18 to 45 years, with feg. Participants were evaluated with the Celluqol® pafeg and questionnaire, which evaluate the degrees and characteristics of the FEG. Photographs were also performed using a symmetrograph. Then the biometric and constitutional evaluation was performed through a bioimpedance balance and an analysis of biotype and postural changes qualitatively made. Then, the inferential statistics for categorical results with the chi-square test and logistics linear regression was made. For all analyzes a level of significance of p <0.05 and a confidence interval of 95%was adopted. Results It can be observed that 78.79 % of volunteers had gynoid biotype, 42.42 % have flaccid feg, 39.39 % severe level on the hexsel scale. It is verified that they have very strong correlation (<0.9), the variables, the right inner inner rotation with very strong correlation with the type of cellulite (flabby predominance), with the classification of hexsel (with severe predominance), type of Obesity (gynoid), and physical activity (sedentary); Left femur internal rotation with biotype (gynoid), and physical activity (sedentary); Geno valgo with type of obesity and physical activity. It is observed that they have strong correlation (0.7 <0.9), with the variables right inner internal rotation with Celluqol® correlation (affecting little quality of life), physical activity (physical inactivity); Left femur internal rotation with the type of FEG (flabby predominance); High Right Right Correlation Strong with FEG (Flacid) type and Genu Left Recuratum with FEG (Flacid) type correlation, Celluqol® (little quality of life). It is observed that they have moderate correlation (0.5 <0.7), the eias right right variables with hexsel classification, anteroversion with the hexsel classification, valgo with obesity type, description of "not complete agulation" with the type of obesity. Conclusion: It is concluded that postural changes, especially in the hip region, have an important association with the association of the FEG and its different levels of gravity. Mechanized transplantation of rice is being imposed worldwide and it requires certain conditions to develop the process efficiently like the production of seedlings in trays. In Cuba, transplanting machines with the system to the filling of the trays are being acquired, so it is necessary to establish a technology that allows the transplanting machines to be put into operation. The objective of this research was to evaluate the quality of rice seedlings to be used in mechanized transplantation under sowing conditions, in Pinar del Río Province, Cuba, with the use of the ERP-60 transplanter. Among the main results obtained in the tray seedbed technology at the time of transplantation, an interaction was found between the factors under study. When the component elements of the substrate were mixed and left at rest, the plants found the appropriate conditions for growth, in the fourelement substrate (ST + MOT + FCSM + CAC), with 30 or more days of rest. This made possible to achieve seedlings of 15.37 cm high and 2.19 mm thick, 19 days after the seed germinated, complying with the requirements for transplantation with the ERP-60 machine.
