Context: The hamstrings are the most commonly injured muscle in sports and are especially injury prone in lengthened positions. Measuring knee muscle strength in such positions could be relevant to establish injury risk. Handheld dynamometry has been shown to be a valid, reliable, and practical tool to measure isometric muscle strength clinically. The aim of this study was to assess the validity and reliability of the assessment of isometric knee muscle strength with a handheld dynamometer (HHD) at various muscle lengths, by modifying the hip and knee angles during testing. Design: Concurrent validity and test--retest reliability. Methods: Thirty young healthy participants were recruited. Hamstring and quadriceps isometric strength was measured with a HHD and with an isokinetic dynamometer, over 2 testing sessions, in a randomized order. Isometric strength was measured on the right lower limb in 6 different positions, with the hip at either 0° or 80° of flexion and the knee at either 30°, 60°, or 90° of flexion. Pearson and Spearman correlations were used to assess the validity, and intraclass correlation coefficients were calculated to establish the test--retest reliability of the HHD. Results: Good to excellent reliability and moderate to high validity were found in all the tested muscle length positions, except for the hamstrings in a seated position with the knee extended at 30°. Conclusions: The use of a HHD is supported in the clinical setting to measure knee muscle strength at varying muscle lengths in healthy adults, but not for the hamstrings in a lengthened position (hip flexed and knee extended). The article carries out a complex theoretical and legal analysis of transfer as a form of realization of the right to work by civil servants in Ukraine. In particular, the legal grounds, procedure and consequences of the transfer of civil servants are investigated, taking into account the regulatory framework and the practice of applying the current legislation. The main attention is paid to the study of the features of the transfer, its impact on the labor rights of civil servants, as well as ensuring the effectiveness of the functioning of state authorities. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to improve the legal regulation of labor relations in the field of public service, increase the requirements for professional mobility and adaptability of civil servants in the context of reforming the state apparatus of Ukraine. The scientific novelty of the work consists in the definition and systematization of the legal basis for the transfer of civil servants, the analysis of their compliance with international standards and practice, as well as in the development of recommendations for improving legislation in this area. The article highlights the main forms and types of transfer of civil servants, examines in detail the legal grounds for the transfer, in particular, initiation by the head of the civil service, reorganization and liquidation of state authorities, the need to avoid the subordination of relatives, etc. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the impact of the transfer on the material situation, career development and realization of the right to work of civil servants. It was found that the transfer to a lower position, although not defined as a significant change in working conditions, actually leads to significant changes that require additional legal regulation and protection of employees' rights. Clear criteria and transfer procedures are proposed, which take into account both service needs and the rights and interests of civil servants themselves. An important place in the work is the analysis of the international experience of the legal regulation of the transfer of civil servants, in particular the models used in the countries of the European Union. The possibilities of adapting such models to Ukrainian realities in order to improve the efficiency of the civil service and protect the labor rights of civil servants have been studied. On the basis of the conducted research, a conclusion was made about the need to improve the legislation in the field of transfer of civil servants, to ensure the transparency and fairness of this process, as well as to create effective control mechanisms for compliance with the relevant procedures. The proposed recommendations can be used for further reform of the civil service system in Ukraine, contributing to increase its efficiency and the professional level of civil servants. This research explores organizational ethics among knowledge workers using ICT4Ds in regional enterprises in Poland before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The study addresses the importance of understanding how ethics in organizations, particularly ethical optimism, corporate social responsibility, and top management action, have evolved across these periods. This topic is crucial as organizational ethics influence employee behavior and decision-making, particularly during crises. The research question focuses on how organizational ethics, influenced by gender and the pandemic, differ by position. Online surveys and random sampling were employed to collect data among knowledge workers (139 before, 134 during, and 98 after the pandemic). The study applied multivariate statistical methods, including variance analysis and causal moderation. Findings were that superiors rated organizational ethics higher than subordinates, and ethical optimism fluctuated, rising during the pandemic and dropping afterward. Extreme space weather events can have serious impacts on critical infrastructure, including Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). The use of GNSS, particularly as sources of accurate timing signals, is becoming more widespread, with one example being the measurement of electricity grid frequency and phase information to aid grid management and stability. Understanding the likelihood of extreme space weather impacts on GNSS timing signals is therefore becoming vital to maintain national electricity grid resilience. This study determines critical intensity thresholds above which the complete failure of a GNSS based timing system may occur. Solar radio bursts are identified as a simple example to investigate in more detail. The probability of occurrence of an extreme space weather event with an intensity equal to or greater than the critical intensity is estimated. Both a power law and extreme value theory were used to evaluate recurrence probabilities based on historical event frequencies. The probability was estimated to be between 3%–12% per decade to cause the complete failure of any GNSS‐based timing system. Plain Language Summary: Society is increasingly reliant on satellite technologies for a wide range of applications. If a huge space weather event were to impact the Earth today, it would likely have catastrophic impacts across many modern technologies including satellites and satellite systems, communications, and electricity grids. Here we assess the probabilities that intense solar events may affect timings derived from Global Navigation Satellite System (of which one commonly used example is the Global Positioning System, or GPS). These timing signals are increasingly used in electricity grid management. Solar radio bursts are used as an example, since they can overwhelm the weak GNSS signal. Statistical methods were employed to assess 46 years of solar radio burst data. Our findings suggest a 3%–12% probability per decade of an event large enough to disrupt the UK electricity grid. Against the backdrop of rapidly advancing Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIOT) and sensing technologies, there is a growing demand for indoor location-based services (LBSs). This paper proposes a through-the-wall localization and tracking (TWPT) system based on an improved ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) radar to achieve more accurate localization of indoor moving targets. The TWPT system overcomes the limitations of traditional localization methods, such as multipath effects and environmental interference, using the high penetration and high accuracy of IR-UWB radar based on multi-sensor fusion technology. In the study, an improved Kalman filter (KF) algorithm is used for clutter reduction, while the CLEAN algorithm, combined with a compensation mechanism, is utilized to increase the target detection probability. Finally, a three-point localization estimation algorithm based on multi-IR-UWB radar is applied for the precise position and trajectory estimation of the target. Experimental validation indicates the TWPT system achieves a high positioning accuracy of 96.91%, with a root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.082 m and a Maximum Position Error (MPE) of 0.259 m. The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the impact of the vertical level of the stopcock connecting the infusion line to the central venous catheter on start-up fluid delivery in microinfusions. Start-up fluid delivery was measured under standardized conditions with the syringe outlet and liquid flow sensors positioned at heart level (0 cm) and exposed to a simulated CVP of 10 mmHg at a set flow rate of 1 ml/h. Flow and intraluminal pressures were measured with the infusion line connected to the stopcock primarily placed at vertical levels of 0 cm, + 30 cm and − 30 cm or primarily placed at 0 cm and secondarily, after connecting the infusion line, displaced to + 30 cm and − 30 cm. Start-up fluid delivery 10 s after opening the stopcock placed at zero level and after opening the stopcock primarily connected at zero level and secondary displaced to vertical levels of + 30 cm and – 30 cm were similar (− 10.52 [− 13.85 to − 7.19] µL; − 8.84 [− 12.34 to − 5.33] µL and − 11.19 [− 13.71 to − 8.67] µL (p = 0.469)). Fluid delivered at 360 s related to 65% (zero level), 71% (+ 30 cm) and 67% (− 30 cm) of calculated infusion volume (p = 0.395). Start-up fluid delivery with the stopcock primarily placed at + 30 cm and − 30 cm resulted in large anterograde and retrograde fluid volumes of 34.39 [33.43 to 35.34] µL and − 24.90 [− 27.79 to − 22.01] µL at 10 s, respectively (p < 0.0001). Fluid delivered with the stopcock primarily placed at + 30 cm and − 30 cm resulted in 140% and 35% of calculated volume at 360 s, respectively (p < 0.0001). Syringe infusion pumps should ideally be connected to the stopcock positioned at heart level in order to minimize the amounts of anterograde and retrograde fluid volumes after opening of the stopcock. Background: Studies have found that in healthy individuals without nasal disease, changes in posture cause an increase in nasal resistance, especially in the prone posture. Many patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) sleep in a prone posture, but no studies have examined the effect of this change in posture on nasal resistance in patients with OSAS. Therefore, we conducted this study to investigate this posture-related physical phenomenon in individuals with OSAS. Methods: We evaluated the nasal patency of 29 patients diagnosed with OSAS using the visual analog scale (VAS), acoustic rhinometry, and video-endoscopy in the sitting, supine, and prone postures. Results: In the OSAS group, both supine and prone postures significantly influenced subjective nasal blockage and led to a notable reduction in the minimal cross-sectional area (mCSA) as determined by acoustic rhinometry, compared to the sitting posture. The prone posture exhibited a more pronounced effect than the supine posture. Endoscopic evaluations further revealed increased hypertrophy of the inferior turbinate in the supine posture for the right nasal passage and the prone posture for the left. However, no significant differences were observed between the prone and supine postures. Conclusion: In OSAS patients, nasal resistance significantly increased in supine and prone postures compared to sitting, with the prone posture showing a greater effect. Clinicians should consider a patient's habitual sleep posture and the effects of postural changes when assessing OSAS severity and devising treatment plans. Level of Evidence: 4. Total supported abduction, or TSA, is a position for ultrasound evaluations and guided interventions of the upper extremity. It provides optimal access to the medial arm through the volar wrist and palmar hand for diagnostic evaluations of the median and ulnar nerves as well as procedures including injections for carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar neuropathy at the elbow, and stenosing tenosynovitis. It enables ease of both ipsilateral and bilateral evaluations/interventions without the need for significant positional changes by the patient or physician. Moreover, the researcher discussed the establishment of one-person company in a direct and indirect way and highlighted the position of Islamic jurisprudence, Yemeni legislation, and comparative legislation regarding one-person company in the other section of this study. The researcher ended the research with results and recommendations, the most important of which is that the Yemeni Commercial Companies Act should explicitly stipulate the establishment of a one-person company in a direct way. Objectives: This research investigates the most important efforts made by the Abbasid Caliphs against the people of innovation and deviation. They had successful efforts throughout the Abbasid era to eliminate the deviants and prevent them from carrying out their activities. The current research also aimed to investigate how the deviants had worked to undermine the Abbasid authority and the Islamic religion, and how they exaggerated in their words about religion and began to spread their deviant ideas and beliefs in an attempt to restore their glory and ancient authority. It also aimed to shed light on how the Abbasid caliphs face their danger, limit their influence, and eliminate some of their leaders. Methodology: To achieve the objectives of this study, the researchers adopted the historical descriptive approach when presenting the position of the Abbasid Caliphate on intellectual deviation, represented by the position of the Abbasid Caliphs against the intellectual deviation that appeared clearly in the Abbasid era by referring to specialized historical sources and references, dealing accurately while employing those sources to reach the most accurate information and clarify the position of the Abbasid Caliphate on those deviations.Results: The study showed many important results that were obtained during the research period, perhaps the most prominent of which are the following:1- The Abbasid era witnessed dangerous deviant intellectual movements carried out by the enemies of Islam to undermine Arabism and Islamic culture and strike the authority of the Arabs, by entering the ranks of Islamic sects and inclining them towards intellectual deviation.2- The Abbasid Caliphs worked to make efforts to eliminate them and work to cut off their continuous movements throughout the Abbasid era.3- Ending the issue of saying that the Qur’an was created, through the successful4- The Abbasid sultans had similar efforts to the efforts of the caliphs to eliminate heresies and deviations by the Ghaznavid and Seljuk sultans and Sultan Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi.Conclusion: The study recommends the necessity of emphasizing on researchers to study intellectual deviations in depth and to know the reasons that led to their emergence, who is behind them and the goals they seek to achieve. It also recommend to work on refuting the claims and falsehoods of those movements and rejecting their ideas that are foreign to Islamic society.

A novel geometrical optical illusion is reported in this article: the horizontal distances of the contextual structures distort the perceived vertical positions of observed objects. Specifically, the illusion manifests in the form of connected boxes of varying widths but equal heights, each containing a circle at the center. Despite identical vertical positioning of the circles, they appear misaligned. The illusion diminishes when the boxes are removed. Potential underlying mechanisms are discussed.

Background and Study Aim. Coaches frequently use small-sided games with numerical inequalities. However, it is unclear if these games accurately represent official matches. This study aims to identify the differences in external load between small-sided games and official matches among professional soccer players, incorporating the variance due to positional roles. Material and Methods. The analysis used GPS data collected from 20 professional football players from Turkish Super League club's first team during the 2023-2024 season. The small-sided games (SSGs) were structured as 4vs4+3, including three joker players. Players were divided into five groups based on their field positions: central defenders, fullbacks, midfielders, wingers, and forwards. The GPS metrics recorded included total distance (m), moderate-intensity running distance (16-20 km/h), high-intensity running distance (20-25 km/h), sprint distance (>25 km/h), the number of accelerations and decelerations, and high metabolic power distance, both in absolute and relative terms. Furthermore, the SSGs were compared based on the number of days prior to official matches when they were conducted. Results. Abstract The authors propose an innovative solution to address challenges in terrain‐referenced navigation (TRN). The suggested solution is the interactive multiple‐model particle filter with a classification error minimisation strategy (IMM‐CPF) based on decision theory. TRN is a technique that estimates position by comparing measured terrain altitude to the digital elevation model and critically depends on obtaining accurate altitude measurements. However, these measurements can be easily contaminated to not only from sensor errors but also from vegetation effects. The TRN measurement noise model is characterised as a multi‐modal density, and it reveals an overlap between two density functions, with the mixture weight parameter varying based on surface environmental conditions. This variability can potentially degrade estimation accuracy. The proposed approach integrates truncated likelihoods into the mode estimation process to enhance mode estimation capability using a classification error minimisation strategy. The proposed strategy is based on decision theory and has been modified to be suited in the IMMPF form. The effectiveness of the proposed IMM‐CPF method is verified through simulations conducted under diverse surface conditions, demonstrating significant improvements in estimation accuracy compared to conventional algorithms. Furthermore, the significance of this method is presented in terms of computational cost and robustness.

Aim: According to delivery room guidelines, an optimal position is not specified for the stabilization of the baby. This study aimed to define the positions effects on postnatal adaptation parameters and cerebral oxygenation in non-resuscitated neonates. Materials and Methods: A total of 60 neonates delivered by cesarean section stabilized randomly in the supine, right-side, left-side, or prone positions were enrolled. Apgar scores, heart rates (HR), arterial oxygen saturations via pulse oximetry, and perfusion indexes (PI) at the 2nd, 5th and 10th minutes were recorded. Cerebral regional oxygen saturation (SpO2) of the patients was monitored by near-infrared spectroscopy. Results: In the prone position, the 1st minute Apgar score was significantly lower than other groups, but no difference was observed at the 5th minute Apgar scores (1st min Apgarprone, p=0.05). Although there was no statistically significant difference, the prone position had the lowest HR at the 2nd minute, while the supine posture had the greatest HR at the 5th and 10th minutes. While the groups’ SpO2 values were similar, the left-side group’s perfusion rates increased at the 5th and 10th minute marks (5th and 10th min PIleft-side, p=0.67, p=0.21, respectively). Regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rScO2) and cerebral fractional oxygen extraction did not differ significantly between groups at the 5th and 10th minute time intervals. Although right and left rScO2 were found to be higher in the first 5 minutes in the prone position, this elevation did not lead to a statistically significant difference, and right and left rScO2 values were found to be similar in all groups at the 10th minute. Conclusion: Adaptation parameters were not affected by position, except for lower 1st minute Apgar scores in the prone group and higher perfusion indices in the left lateral position. Cerebral perfusion was similar in all groups. The left-side position, which results in a higher PI, may be a good alternative. Studies with larger case series may provide further information.

Different types of devices with modulable resistance are attractive for the significant potential applications such as sensors, information storage, computation, etc. Although extensive research has been reported on resistance effects, there is still a need for exploring new mechanisms that offer advantages of low power consumption, high sensitivity, and long-term stability. Here, we report a graphene–Si based spatial-dependence photo-rheostat (SDPR), which enables bipolar resistance modulation in the range of 5 mm with a resistance sensitivity exceeding 1,000 Ω/mm at operating wavelengths from visible to near infrared band (1,550 nm). Especially, at ultra-low energy consumption, the device can achieve modulation of even 5 orders of magnitude of resistance and response speed up to 10 kHz. A theoretical model based on carrier dynamics is established to reveal the diffusion and drift of carriers as a mechanism explaining such experimental phenomenon. This work provides a new avenue to modulate resistance at low power consumption as novel opto-potentiometers in various photoelectric applications.

Abstract The High‐Dynamic enhanced Loran (eLoran) signal simulator must accurately model the motion parameters and dynamic transmission delays of the carriers in the channel. A method was proposed based on B‐Spline interpolation, capable of arbitrary ratio interpolation and multi‐channel simulation. This method can regenerate carrier‐to‐transmitter distances from available discrete motion asynchronous data, it can effectively reproduce more motion details for carrier. The algorithm can be implemented using digital circuits, allowing for real‐time simulation on a hardware platform. The circuit structure is divided into integer and fractional calculations, which can satisfy the interpolation of asynchronous data with arbitrary ratios. Compared with existing methods, the approach simulates the motion parameters with satisfactory accuracy.

To evaluate whether different positions are advantageous for hemodynamics and respiratory balance in patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) procedures. Pre- and postoperative arterial blood gas data obtained during spontaneous breathing for 67 prone (Group 1) and 56 supine (Group 2) patients undergoing PCNL were analyzed. Additionally data on all patients' gender, age, body mass index, stone size, access and surgical duration, volume of irrigation fluid, length of hospital stay, requirement for blood transfusion, and residual stones were recorded: There were no differences between the groups in terms of age, stone size, operation time, access time, radiation exposure, transfusion requirements, stone-free rate, and length of hospitalization. A statistically significant pH decrease was observed in both groups in the postoperative period (p = 0.001 and p = 0.001, respectively). There was a statistically significant increase in pCO2 values in both groups in the postoperative period (p = 0.001 and p = 0.024, respectively), and that increase did not differ significantly between the groups (p = 0.624). A statistically significant decrease in pO2 and SpO2 values was observed in both groups in the postoperative period compared to the preoperative period. Again, no statistical difference was observed between the groups for these values. There was a statistically significant decrease in bicarbonate in both groups period (p < 0.001 and p = 0.001, respectively). Hemodynamics and the respiratory balance of the patient are impaired in both prone and supine positions. Neither position is superior to the other in this respect. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Humorous messages (not derogatory jokes) related to obesity seem to be retweeted frequently. Potentially, such humor could be included in viral public health campaigns to combat obesity, but would jokes actually increase the likelihood of purchasing healthy foods advertised on social media? 411 participants were asked to test two soon-to-be-introduced features (e.g., repost button) in Instagram on their phones. Participants scrolled through a series of posts about various topics ranging from architecture to beauty products. A healthy food post, preceded by one of four joke types (two containing the word "fat"), was embedded at the top, middle or bottom position of the Instagram page. After participants scrolled through the page, perhaps reposting some posts, they were presented with the healthy food product featured in the post and were asked to indicate a purchase probability (0-100), as well as whether they recognized the food product from the post (yes/no). At the end of the study, the individual jokes were rated as "funny/not funny" and "positive/ negative". If the food product was recognized, the joke type played a role. In particular, jokes containing the word "fat" had a negative effect on the purchase probability. However, if the food product was not recognized, only its position on the page mattered. The purchase probability was highest if the product was placed at the top. Social media, criticized for promoting unhealthy food consumption, especially among children, can therefore also be used to address issues such as the global obesity epidemic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction and Hypothesis: This study was aimed at investigating the hypothesis that sexual intercourse positions may have an impact on the occurrence of coital urinary incontinence (CUI) in women. Methods: This case–control observational study enrolled 360 married, heterosexual, sexually active female participants with CUI. Each patient was evaluated using medical and sexual histories, questionnaires, physical examinations, and laboratory tests, including urodynamics. Participants were asked whether or not their intercourse positions had an impact on the occurrence of their CUI. Patients with intercourse position-dependent CUI were included in group 1, and those independent of it were allocated to group 2. The clinic and laboratory findings of the patient groups were compared. Results: The patients' mean age was 47.24 ± 0.57 years. Of these women, 28.9% (n = 104) were in group 1, and 71.1% (n = 256) were in group 2. Group 1 had a lower mean age, body mass index, Charlson comorbidity index, number of urinary incontinence episodes, severity of CUI and incontinence, and pad weight than group 2 (p < 0.05). The rates of detrusor overactivity and penetration type of CUI were higher in group 1 than in group 2 (p < 0.0009, p = 0.009 respectively). According to logistic regression analysis, the likelihood of sexual position-related CUI was 3.5 times higher in women with detrusor overactivity. Conclusions: In certain patients, intercourse position is associated with the occurrence of CUI. This condition seems to be related to detrusor overactivity and is inversely associated with incontinence severity. However, further studies are necessary to explain this phenomenon. Biomedical research has advanced medicine but also contributed to widening racial and ethnic health inequities. Despite a growing acknowledgment of the need to incorporate anti-racist objectives into research, there remains a need for practical guidance for recognizing and addressing the influence of ingrained practices perpetuating racial harms, particularly for general internists. Through a review of the literature, and informed by the Research Lifecycle Framework, this position statement from the Society of General Internal Medicine presents a conceptual framework suggesting multi-level systemic changes and strategies for researchers to incorporate an anti-racist perspective throughout the research lifecycle. It begins with a clear assertion that race and ethnicity are socio-political constructs that have important consequences on health and health disparities through various forms of racism. Recommendations include leveraging a comprehensive approach to integrate anti-racist principles and acknowledging that racism, not race, drives health inequities. Individual researchers must acknowledge systemic racism's impact on health, engage in self-education to mitigate biases, hire diverse teams, and include historically excluded communities in research. Institutions must provide clear guidelines on the use of race and ethnicity in research, reject stigmatizing language, and invest in systemic commitments to diversity, equity, and anti-racism. National organizations must call for race-conscious research standards and training, and create measures to ensure accountability, establishing standards for race-conscious research for research funding. The authors propose an innovative solution to address challenges in terrain‐referenced navigation (TRN). The suggested solution is the interactive multiple‐model particle filter with a classification error minimisation strategy (IMM‐CPF) based on decision theory. TRN is a technique that estimates position by comparing measured terrain altitude to the digital elevation model and critically depends on obtaining accurate altitude measurements. However, these measurements can be easily contaminated to not only from sensor errors but also from vegetation effects. The TRN measurement noise model is characterised as a multi‐modal density, and it reveals an overlap between two density functions, with the mixture weight parameter varying based on surface environmental conditions. This variability can potentially degrade estimation accuracy. The proposed approach integrates truncated likelihoods into the mode estimation process to enhance mode estimation capability using a classification error minimisation strategy. The proposed strategy is based on decision theory and has been modified to be suited in the IMMPF form. The effectiveness of the proposed IMM‐CPF method is verified through simulations conducted under diverse surface conditions, demonstrating significant improvements in estimation accuracy compared to conventional algorithms. Paraserianthes falcataria, locally known as Batai, is a non-native, fast-growing species selected by Malaysia's forest plantation programme. Limited empirical studies have been conducted regarding this species, specifically the one planted domestically. A comprehensive understanding of its wood properties is essential to effectively introduce and utilise this species commercially. Thus, a study was conducted to evaluate the physicomechanical properties of Batai and their correlation with age and position variation. In this study, P. falcataria was harvested from a forest plantation in Kuala Krai, Kelantan, Malaysia, encompassing three different age variations: 2.5, 5 and 8 years. Five replicates were felled for each age, and the logs were segmented into three 2 m portions representing variations along the vertical axis: top, middle and bottom. Additionally, radial variation was examined by distinguishing between heartwood and sapwood. Subsequently, samples were tested with static bending and compression tests following standard protocols (ISO 13061-3: 2014, ISO 13061-4, and ISO 13061-17: 2017). The results revealed statistically significant physico-mechanical properties among different ages and within-tree sections. This study provides valuable documentation on P. falcataria wood properties, contributing to the field's knowledge. Inclusions are an important parameter affecting the fatigue life of materials. In this paper, the type, size, and quantity of inclusions in bearing steel were quantitatively analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and automatic scanning electron microscopy with an X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy function. The effects of the inclusion parameters and positions on the rotating bending fatigue properties were analyzed using the rotating bending fatigue test. The results proved that for samples 1 and 2, the inclusions were mainly sulfides, Ti-containing inclusions, and their composite inclusions. For samples 3 and 4, the inclusions were mainly oxides or sulfide–oxide complexes. The number and maximum size of inclusions in sample 2 were relatively small. This was mainly due to the difference in the content of Al, S, and Ca elements in the different samples. The inclusion distance to the surface and the maximum inclusion size had a larger influence on the rotating bending fatigue life in comparison to the inclusion type. Moreover, nitride–oxides had a more detrimental effect on the rotating bending fatigue life as compared to the sulfide–oxide complex inclusions. A model was established on the basis of the inclusion size, depth, and stress by using the Python software. Heterogenization of nickel‐based olefin polymerization catalysts has received increasing attention in recent years. In this contribution, positional heterogenization effect in salicylaldimine nickel catalyzed ethylene polymerization is studied. The salicylaldimine nickel pre‐catalysts bearing anchor groups are synthesized, characterized, and investigated in heterogeneous catalytic ethylene polymerization. The anchoring groups are installed at different positions, including the 4‐position of the salicylaldehyde moiety and the 4‐position of the aniline moiety. It is shown that the positions of the anchoring groups have significant effects on heterogeneous ethylene polymerization catalyzed by SiO2‐supported salicylaldimine nickel catalysts. Purpose: This single‐group, quasiexperimental study was conducted to determine the effect of feeding position on the physiological parameters and feeding performance of term‐born infants with cleft lip and palate (CLP) in the preoperative period. Methods: The study sample consisted of 45 infants aged 0–6 months with CLP followed up preoperatively in our outpatient clinic between January 2021 and 2022. Infants who were being fed with a specialty bottle for babies with CLP and whose families consented to participate in the study were included. After 2 h of fasting, the infants were fed in the elevated supine (ESU) position for the first meal, then in the elevated side‐lying (ESL) position for the second meal after another 2 h of fasting. The infants' heart rate and oxygen saturation values before, during, and after each feed and indicators of feeding performance were compared between the positions. Results: There was no significant difference between the positions in terms of heart rate and oxygen saturation before, during, or after feeding (p >.05). There was no statistically significant difference in measures of feeding performance according to the infants' feeding position (p >.05). Conclusion: According to the findings obtained in this study, infants with CLP showed no statistically significant differences in heart rate, oxygen saturation, or feeding performance when fed in the ESL and ESU positions. Practice Implications: However, despite the lack of statistical significance, both physiological values and feeding performance tended to be better when the infants were fed in the ESL position, nurses can practice ESL position according to the infant's opposite direction of the side of the cleft lip or palate. It is indicated that in the process of the formation of Ukraine as a state with a developed market economy and the evolution of the civil service according to the European model, as a politically neutral apparatus of professional workers in state authorities, an urgent question for research remains the appeal to the positive foreign experience of the organization of the civil service, and especially - to the experience of exercising the right to work by civil servants. The article provides a thorough analysis of the legislative mechanisms of the Republic of Lithuania that regulate the labor rights of civil servants. The specifics of Lithuanian labor legislation have been studied, in particular the provisions that ensure effective protection of the rights and interests of civil servants, as well as contribute to increasing the efficiency of civil service. The article examines in detail the main aspects of Lithuanian legislation related to the right to work, working conditions, social guarantees and protection against discrimination. In particular, the mechanisms of ensuring equal opportunities, professional development, as well as improving the qualifications of civil servants are analyzed. The study focuses on effective practices that contribute to reducing the level of bureaucracy and increasing transparency in the civil service. The author gives a number of concrete ways of borrowing the positive experience of the Republic of Lithuania to the national labor legislation. Proposed measures include the implementation of transparent employment procedures, improvement of the system of motivation and performance evaluation of civil servants, as well as ensuring stable working conditions and social guarantees. Attention is also focused on the need to adapt the best practices from the Lithuanian experience to national realities, taking into account the specifics of the national legal system. The author offers practical recommendations for reforming the national labor legislation, which can significantly increase the efficiency and transparency of the civil service in Ukraine. Borrowing the positive experience of the Republic of Lithuania can become a key factor for improving the working conditions of civil servants, which, in turn, will contribute to improving the quality of public administration and meeting the needs of citizens. How does the human visual system assess the separation between pairs of stimuli in a frontal plane? According to the direct (or subtractive) view the system finds the difference between the positions of the stimuli in a localization system. According to the indirect (or additive) view the system finds the number of instances of a distance unit lying between representations of the stimuli. Critically, position is explicitly represented under the direct view, with separation being derived from position. Position is not explicitly represented under the indirect view; separation is consequently inferred by counting an internal unit of distance. Recent results favor the indirect over the direct view of separation assessment. Dissociations between assessments of separation and position, various context effects in the assessment of separation, and suggestions that position information is not cleanly accessed argue against the direct view. At the same time, various context effects in separation assessment argue for the indirect view. Recent findings regarding the brain bases of vision are consistent with the indirect view. Aim: According to delivery room guidelines, an optimal position is not specified for the stabilization of the baby. This study aimed to define the positions effects on postnatal adaptation parameters and cerebral oxygenation in non-resuscitated neonates. Materials and Methods: A total of 60 neonates delivered by cesarean section stabilized randomly in the supine, right-side, left-side, or prone positions were enrolled. Apgar scores, heart rates (HR), arterial oxygen saturations via pulse oximetry, and perfusion indexes (PI) at the 2nd, 5th and 10th minutes were recorded. Cerebral regional oxygen saturation (SpO2) of the patients was monitored by near-infrared spectroscopy. Results: In the prone position, the 1st minute Apgar score was significantly lower than other groups, but no difference was observed at the 5th minute Apgar scores (1st min Apgarprone, p=0.05). Although there was no statistically significant difference, the prone position had the lowest HR at the 2nd minute, while the supine posture had the greatest HR at the 5th and 10th minutes. While the groups' SpO2 values were similar, the left-side group's perfusion rates increased at the 5th and 10th minute marks (5th and 10th min PIleft-side, p=0.67, p=0.21, respectively). Regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rScO2) and cerebral fractional oxygen extraction did not differ significantly between groups at the 5th and 10th minute time intervals. Although right and left rScO2 were found to be higher in the first 5 minutes in the prone position, this elevation did not lead to a statistically significant difference, and right and left rScO2 values were found to be similar in all groups at the 10th minute. Conclusion: Adaptation parameters were not affected by position, except for lower 1st minute Apgar scores in the prone group and higher perfusion indices in the left lateral position. Cerebral perfusion was similar in all groups. The left-side position, which results in a higher PI, may be a good alternative. Studies with larger case series may provide further information. Heart rate and vascular tension baroreflex exhibit resonance characteristics at approximately 0.1 and 0.03 Hz. In this study, we aimed to induce postural resonance (PR) through rhythmic postural adjustments. To assess the viability of this technique, we investigated the acute impacts of postural resonance on blood pressure, sympathetic nerve activity, and mood. Fifteen healthy study participants, consisting of 8 males and 7 females, were selected for this self-controlled study. Skin sympathetic nerve activity was continuously monitored during both the intervention and stress test on the experimental day. After PR intervention, the diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure in the PR group exhibited significant reductions compared to the CON group (P = 0.032, CON = 71.67 ± 2.348, PR = 64.08 ± 2.35; P = 0.041, CON = 75.00 ± 2.17, PR = 81.67 ± 2.17). After PR intervention both left brachial ankle pulse wave velocity and right brachial ankle pulse wave velocity exhibited a significant reduction compared to pre-intervention levels (from 1115.86 ± 150.08 to 1048.43 ± 127.40 cm/s, p < 0.001; 1103.86 ± 144.35 to 1060.43 ± 121.35 cm/s, p = 0.018). PR intervention also led to a significant decrease in burst frequency and duration (P = 0.049; CON = 8.96 ± 1.17, PR = 5.51 ± 1.17) and a noteworthy decrease in burst amplitude and burst threshold during the cold-pressor test (P = 0.002; P = 0.002). Additionally, VAS scores exhibited a substantial increase following PR (P = 0.035, CON = 28.4 ± 4.49, PR = 42.17 ± 4.10). PR can induce resonance effects within the cardiovascular system, resulting in the effective reduction of blood pressure, skin sympathetic nerve activity and pulse wave velocity, and decreased burst amplitude and burst threshold of the sympathetic nerve during the cold-pressor test. Sustainability is an important issue that we all face, including higher education students. We assert that the transition into the contemporary higher education context needs educators to plan transition pedagogy that engages students with the world during their studies, instead of solely using curriculum as preparation for the future world of work. To investigate this, we explored how students position themselves in relation to sustainability as part of an assessment task in a first-year university transition course and whether this type of assessment provides opportunities for students to experience subjectification. Drawing on Biesta's ([2022]. World-Centred Education: A View for the Present. New York: Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group) conception of world-centred education, we applied a novel methodology based on dialogical self theory, developed by Hermans and Bartels ([2021]. Citizenship Education and the Personalization of Democracy. New York: Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group. ), to analyse the data comprising student reflections on an assessment item oriented toward current sustainability issues. Our findings suggest that when students interact with their peers and encounter challenging content, conflicting internal positions can lead to subjectification and an intention for further action on real-world issues from the commencement of their studies. We propose that the principles of opposition, cooperation and participation provide a practical framework for educators and course designers to purposefully designate space for students to explore positions and practise the generative dialogue needed for thinking and acting in the world as subjects now and in the future. In analysing students' reported experience, our paper contributes to the discussion around implementing world-centred education and provides useful insight into how students engage with sustainability in higher education. The High‐Dynamic enhanced Loran (eLoran) signal simulator must accurately model the motion parameters and dynamic transmission delays of the carriers in the channel. A method was proposed based on B‐Spline interpolation, capable of arbitrary ratio interpolation and multi‐channel simulation. This method can regenerate carrier‐to‐transmitter distances from available discrete motion asynchronous data, it can effectively reproduce more motion details for carrier. The algorithm can be implemented using digital circuits, allowing for real‐time simulation on a hardware platform. The circuit structure is divided into integer and fractional calculations, which can satisfy the interpolation of asynchronous data with arbitrary ratios. Background and objective:Breastfeeding has a significant impact on maternal and child health. Poor feeding practises increase the risk of infectious diseases such as diarrhoea and acute respiratory infection significantly. In view of the significance of breastfeeding, the current study was carried out to evaluate lactating mothers' knowledge, attitudes, and practises toward breastfeeding as well as to track their positioning and attachment. Material and methodology: this study wasconducted in Department of Pediatrics of tertiary care teaching hospital at Ahmedabad. This was cross sectional observational study; conducted over period of 2 years. All neonates who were qualified under inclusion criteria were enrolled in study. Demographic details of mothers were collected. All the answers were filled up according to pre designed questionnaires and all data were tabulated and analysed. Results: Total 300 mothers were included in this study. In our study 58% mothers had average and 39% mothers had excellent knowledge regarding breastfeeding; 83% mothers had excellent attitude. 55% mothers were having average and 45% mother were having poor practices regarding breastfeeding. There was a moderate positive correlation between attitude and practices, which was statistically significant. Conclusion:The present study concludes that despite having adequate knowledge, attitude, good practices towards breastfeeding, there were still myths prevailing in the community, certain malpractices and insufficient knowledge on certain aspects of breastfeeding. Objectives: No consensus regarding the optimal position and location for the measurement of the inter‐rectus distance (IRD) via ultrasound (US) has been reached. By investigating the intra‐ and interimage reliability of IRD measurements taken in different positions and at different locations within and between testers, this study provides a theoretical basis for the current situation. Methods: The IRD was measured via US in 46 women at 42–60 days after delivery at the superior margin of the umbilicus and 3 cm above, 5 cm above and 3 cm below the umbilicus while the women were in the supine, crunch and standing positions. In the interimage test, every participant was tested 2 times by Physician X and 1 time by Physician Y; in the intraimage test, the images collected by Physician X during the first test were saved in the machines, and two measurements were performed by Physician X and one measurement was performed by Physician Y. Paired t tests and intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) were calculated. Results: Only the first IRD measurements by tester X and tester Y at 3 cm below the umbilicus in the crunch position were significantly different (9.56 ± 6.00 versus 11.00 ± 5.55) (P <.05). All the ICCs were greater than.75, and the intratester ICCs were greater than or equal to the corresponding intertester ICCs. The ICCs at 3 cm below the umbilicus were the smallest in the supine and crunch positions and the largest in the standing position due to the increased frequency of IRD values of 0. The ICCs for the crunch position were greatest according to the intraimage test but smallest according to the interimage test. The interimage ICCs between the two testers in the supine position at the superior margin, 3 cm above, 5 cm above, and 3 cm below the umbilicus were.972,.974,.975, and.956, respectively. Conclusions: Ultrasound imaging (USI) is a reliable method for measuring the IRD in women in the early postpartum period. Traditional X-ray pulsar ranging and velocity measurement methods only estimate the radial position and velocity information of the pulsar. For non-linear orbits, errors in the transverse position and velocity of the pulsar lead to errors in the radial velocity of the pulsar, leading to distortion of the X-ray pulsar profile. Based on this, we propose using the distortion of the pulsar profile to infer the transverse position and velocity information of the pulsar. First, a model of the distortion of the pulsar profile due to errors in the transverse position and velocity is established, and the observable directions of the transverse position and velocity are given separately. Then, considering that the distortions in the pulsar profile caused by errors in the transverse position and velocity are indistinguishable, we establish a reactive motion state measure related to the observable directions for the transverse position and velocity errors as a new observable measure in X-ray pulsar navigation. The experimental results show that the precision of the reactive motion state measure reaches 0.57, equivalent to a position error of 284.50 m or a velocity error of 0.57 m/s. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: To determine any differences in clinical outcomes between patients in the supine vs the lateral position during anterior-based muscle sparing (ABMS) total hip arthroplasty (THA). Methods: A retrospective review was performed of 368 patients undergoing THA via the ABMS approach (201 lateral vs 167 supine position) at our institution (2015-2019) with a minimum follow-up of 12 months. Inclusion criteria were all patients undergoing primary THA. Exclusion criteria were any revision surgeries and patients who did not undergo the ABMS THA. Outcomes assessed were postoperative complication rates, ambulation distance, length of stay, and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index pain, stiffness, and physical function scores at 3 time periods (preoperative, 3 months postoperative, and 1 year postoperative). Results: The supine group had significantly greater postoperative day 0 ambulation distance (150 vs 60 meters; P < .001), while no difference was observed on postoperative day 1 (210 meters in supine vs 200 in lateral; P = .921). Median length of stay was significantly shorter in the supine group (1; interquartile range 0-1) with respect to the lateral group (1; interquartile range 0-2; P < .001). The in-hospital complication rates (2.4% in supine vs 1.5% in lateral; P = .780), return to operating room rates (2.4% in supine vs 1.5% in lateral; P = .780), and readmission rates (5.4% in supine vs 5.0% in lateral; P = .631) were not significantly different between the groups. No significant differences were observed across any Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index scores. Conclusions: Both supine and lateral patient positioning provide acceptable early surgical outcomes, suggesting that satisfactory results can be obtained via both positions in THAs.

Knowing the specific physical demands of basketball players can provide useful information for clinical decision making when rehabilitating athletes following injury. The purpose of this observational study was to describe the physical demands of basketball play at the Division I collegiate level using video-based time-motion analysis and introduce a time-efficient alternative method of quantifying demands. Eleven NCAA Division I basketball players (6M, 5F; 4 guards, 4 centers, 3 forwards) participated in the study. Video footage was collected from four practices (2 men's, 2 women's) and used to quantify the types and frequencies of player movements based on definitions from seminal work. The aim of the author in conducting a study in this research is to find out the Public Prosecutor's Indictment regarding the criminal act of embezzlement in office and to find out the Legal Considerations by the Panel of Judges in Imposing Sentences as in one of the criminal cases of embezzlement in office which is in the Decision. The problem approach in this research uses a normative juridical approach. The normative juridical approach is an approach through library research by reading, quoting and analyzing legal theories and statutory regulations related to the problems in the research. The judge's decision in case No. 58/Pid.B/2022/PN Kaltara has fulfilled the elements of the crime of embezzlement in office as regulated in Article 374 of the Criminal Code. The perpetrator, who was an employee of PT Manasseh Abadi Sentosa, was proven to have embezzled company funds for personal gain, which caused financial losses for the company. (2). This article is a systematic review and meta-analysis that examines the use of routine ultrasound in improving instrument placement during operative vaginal delivery. The study found that while ultrasound improved the accuracy of diagnosing fetal head position, it did not significantly affect instrument placement or other procedural outcomes.
