Aims: To evaluate a collaborative participation-based therapy approach for two preschool students with multiple disabilities from the experience of Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams, highlighting the perspective of the physical therapist. Methods: The phases of collaborative participation-based therapy were implemented: (a) collaborative relationships were developed and supported within the IEP teams, (b) collaborative meaningful physical recreation goals were developed for participation at school, (c) strengths and needs assessments using the "Collaborative Process for Action Plans to Achieve Participation Goals" were conducted with IEP teams, (d) participation-based interventions were provided, and (e) goal achievement and processes were evaluated. The use of technology for collaboration was encouraged. The physical therapist kept intervention logs and wrote reflective journal entries. Interventions adhered to COVID-19 regulations. Goal achievement was measured using Goal Attainment Scaling. IEP team members completed questionnaires on their experiences. Results: One student met their goal expectation, and one student exceeded their goal expectation. The students were engaged, and IEP team members' experiences were positive. Conclusions: The use of participation-based therapy is meaningful, feasible, and acceptable to IEP teams. Team collaboration and flexibility were instrumental to successful implementation. Strategies to promote effective communication and the use of technology would support a participation-based therapy approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The historical connections between swimming and the art of war are unquestionable. The ability to swim is still valuable not only in the navy, which is quite obvious. Overcoming water obstacles requires the same from a soldier of the land forces, and special forces additionally teach efficient diving. During the Japanese Middle Ages, a samurai should, for a full education in martial skills (in Japanese: bugei), learn the rules of swimming in armour and with weapons (in Japanese: suei-jutsu) and acquire appropriate practical skills. Nowadays, in the practice of martial arts and combat sports, swimming is recommended as an excellent complementary sport. Are there other connections between the history, philosophy and cultural heritage of martial arts and swimming? In further analyses, concepts from the tradition of Japanese martial arts and references to several varieties of martial arts of Japanese origin will be used. The author presents here his own concepts resulting from his own experience, observations and conducted analyses.

Relevance of the study is due to the spread of sports and recreational activities among young people and due to the necessity to assess the effectiveness of the independent use of physical education and sports by the youth in their free time. The purpose of the study is to conduct a comparative analysis of physical condition indicators and behavioral factors that determine the physical activity of young men and women studying at a university, who are involved in sports and recreational activities (carried out independently or under the supervision of specialists in a fitness center), of their peers doing sports in sports schools, as well as of those students who use physical education and sports only within the framework of the discipline “Elective courses in physical education and sports”. Hypothesis: we assume that students involved in sports and recreational activities have more optimal indicators of their physical condition, than those peers who do not use sports in their free time. We believe that students independently engaged in physical activity during leisure time have experience in organized sports under the guidance of a coach and are potential participants of sports public events organized during extracurricular time at the university. The study involved 230 students of the 1st–4th years (97 females and 133 males) of Nizhnevartovsk State University. The authors used such research methods as the study of heart rate variability, questionnaires, and methods of mathematical statistics. The study revealed an increase in the number of young people involved in sports and recreational activities. It is established that the physical condition of students who independently use means of physical education and sports during extracurricular time is characterized by a more intense functioning of the regulatory systems of the body, compared with their peers who study at leisure under the supervision of specialists. The majority of people independently engaged in physical activity in their free time have no experience of organized sports in the past. It was found out that physical education and sports preferences for extracurricular activities among Russian young men and women do not differ from the choice of types of physical activity of foreign peers and correlate with indicators of their unwillingness to take part in mass competitions. The obtained results point to the importance of pedagogical support of sports and recreational activities of students doing sports independently.

The purpose of this research is to develop a methodology for physical recreation of disabled students at university. The methodology for organizing recreation is based on the results of studying students’ psychophysiological characteristics. The psychophysiological status of 19 university students was determined using psychomotor tests of the psychophysiological testing device "Psychophysiologist". The authors compared data obtained with the indicators of the control group of students without pathology. They found out that 80% of students with disabilities had a weak type of nervous system, which indicated a rapid level of fatigue due to mental or physical stress. 93.3% of students with disabilities did not have a leading hemisphere and a leading analyzer. The majority of students in the experimental group (66.7%) showed an increased and high level of personal anxiety. The data obtained significantly differed from the corresponding indicators of students without disabilities. On the basis of the data obtained, the authors have worked out recommendations for the organization of physical recreation. It is proposed to build physical recreation classes on the principle of blocks, starting with the elements of remedial gymnastics. After gymnastics classes there is a warm-up. In the second block, the main part of the lesson should be in water, using aquatics. The third block includes using outdoor games. The article formulates recommendations for the organization of recreation, taking into account the psychophysiological status. The presented data may be used by teachers of physical culture and specialists in adaptive physical culture.

Introduction: The aim of the study was to analyze mood regulation in people practicing hatha yoga in the background of people who do not practice this sport activity. Materials and Methods: 96 Respondents from the Slaskie and Kujawsko-Pomorskie province took part in the research The subjects were divided into two groups: practicing hatha yoga (N = 46) and control (N = 49). The analysis was carried out by means of a diagnostic survey using the standardized tool: Mood Control Scales. During the tests, the age and sex of the respondents were taken into account. Results: The average results of males and females exercising and not exercising hatha yoga in the Elevated Mood Scale are very similar to each other and range from 3.91 to 3.97 in women and from 3.87 to 3.91 in men. The results of men in the Depressed Mood Scale, as in the Elevated Mood Scale, differ slightly. However, a large difference, up to 0%, can be noticed by observing the results of women, 2.22 for exercising women and 2.79 for non-exercising women. Conclusions: Practicing hatha yoga has a beneficial effect on the level of mood regulation, contributing to the improvement of the mental state, the implementation of vital tasks and life goals and, consequently, reducing the negative mood and proper social functioning. Decreasing the level of low mood positively affects the quality of life. People with the ability to regulate the mood are less subject to mechanisms exacerbating the negative mood and, consequently, do not undertake the procedures leading to this mood. It can therefore be assumed that a bad mood is not treated in the category of failure, life catastrophe or a state without a way out.The conducted research allowed to show a greater tendency to reduce the level of low mood in women practicing hatha yoga. In the analysis, there were dependencies between the tendencies of mood regulation and gender. These dependencies were seen in women, whereas with men this did not play a significant role research did not play a significant role. However, there was no negative effect of the hatha yoga exercise on the level of mood.

PHYSICAL activity ,FAMILY recreation ,CHILDREN with visual disabilities ,SPORTS camps - Abstract
Background: Nationwide research indicates that children with visual impairment have limited participation in recreational and sport activities than their peers. This is due in part to the lack of recreational opportunities and facilities, as well as a lack of awareness by parents of how and where their children can participate. The purpose of the current study was to explore the experiences of Latino families of children with visual impairments living in Guatemala regarding physical recreation. Participants were Latino parents (N = 13) who have children with visual impairments recruited from a sport camp. Methods: Qualitative data were gathered through one-on-one interviews that were transcribed and analyzed through a constant comparative analysis. Results: Participating Latino families who resided in Guatemala City participated at least once a month in low budget recreational activities with their children with visual impairments. Activities were mostly done in local surroundings and led mainly by their mother. Benefits identified by the participants related to relaxation, socialization, and sense of independence, with minimal mention of health related benefits. Conclusions: There is a need to disseminate information to the Latino community with children with visual impairments regarding the multiple benefits that arise from being involved in recreational physical activities. 16. THE IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL RECREATION IN THE EDUCATIONAL SPACE OF MODERN YOUTH.

- Abstract
This article reveals the essence of the importance of involving modern youth in recreational activities, aspects of the formation of physical recreation in Ukraine, the concepts, forms, means and methods of physical recreation are characterized; features of use of motor activity within the limits of physical recreation are specified. Socio- economic changes in Ukraine have affected the health of the population. In addition to positive changes, there are negative phenomena in people's lives, in particular a decrease in life expectancy. Every year the number of students enrolled in special medical groups increases. Factors that negatively affect health should include the deterioration of socio-economic indicators, sanitary- epidemiological and environmental situation in our country, psycho-emotional overload, etc. Probably one of the main reasons for the deterioration of the health situation is the lack of financial and material support from the state to the recreational and health sphere, which leads to a certain physical inactivity. Most young people have a low level of physical activity and low interest in participating in recreational activities and fitness programs. The main reasons that prevent young people from engaging in physical activity are: lack of time, lack of interesting forms, financial problems, no friends for joint exercise, no knowledge for independent training, lack of desire, no sportswear, lack of reasoning for exercise. Most young people have severe hypokinesia, despite daily physical activity. Thus, it can be argued that in Ukraine, recreational and health activities have not become widespread and popular. Intensification of work in the direction of recreational and health activities of young people is extremely important, because the health of Ukrainians is getting worse, and the number of people involved in regular exercise and physical activity is getting smaller and smaller every year. Today, successful mastering of education is possible only with a sufficiently high level of health, and therefore taking into account the peculiarities of lifestyle, namely physical activity and a positive attitude to physical activity, is an important element of physical education for young people. Purpose: to highlight the peculiarities of the use in terms of socio-historical practice of the terms and, accordingly, the concepts of "physical fitness", "wellness", "physical recreation", and to establish their connection with the general (consensus) definition of the concept of "physical culture". Material & Methods: are the analysis of special literature, which covers various aspects of the development of basic forms of social manifestation of physical culture, as well as a systematic and historiographical approach to the analysis of this problem. In the process of research, Google's online search service (Google Books Ngram Viewer) was used. Results: the materials obtained with the use of the Google Books Ngram Viewer search engine indicate that the active use of the terms "physical recreation" and "physical fitness" began at the turn of the 20th century almost synchronously, however, the growth rate of the use of the term "physical fitness "were significantly higher. The term "physical recreation" in english-language publications in the relevant segments of the historical period studied is relatively rare in comparison with the frequency of use of the terms "physical fitness", "wellness" and "physical culture". The materials obtained from the use of this system also showed that in the german-language printed publications, the phrase "physical recreation" does not occur while the words "physical" and "recreation", as separate language classes, are widely used. Similar features also appear in the publications printed in French, Spanish and Italian. Conclusions: a comparative analysis of the obtained materials suggests that physical recreation is considered in English practice as an important factor in the physical health of a person and his active longevity, as well as a significant factor in solving the problems of youth. This term began to be used in English-language practice for the name of one of the areas of leisure activities of the working and middle classes, as well as of students as a special social-demographic group. The analysis shows that by this time a holistic notion about the subject and subject area of physical recreation has not yet been formed, that the concept of "physical recreation" is rather vague, vague and contradictory.

The available literature analysed the recommendations and optimal conditions for conducting aqua fitness classes. It was decided to check whether these guidelines are related to the practical use of facilities for conducting this type of recreational activities. The research problem was undertaken to assess the use of local swimming pools for recreational aqua fitness classes and changes in their use in 2012 and 2019. Methods. The study covered all functioning swimming pools within the city of Szczecin, in 2 012 (n = 17) and 2 019 (n = 16). In order to collect the necessary data, the document analysis technique (load lists of individual facilities and lists of places where aqua fitness classes were conducted by individual entities) and the interview technique (with persons working in the aforementioned facilities, possessing the necessary information, and with the managers of individual businesses that offered aqua fitness classes in Szczecin's swimming pools) were used. Results. Both in 2012 and 2019, the use of Szczecin's swimming pools for recreational aqua fitness was considered satisfactory. Changes in the use of Szczecin's swimming pools for the purposes of recreational aqua fitness took place over the course of several years with two swimming pools being discontinued (due to facility characteristics and conditions - temperature and water depth) and one new, private facility being opened. The number of businesses offering recreational aqua fitness services has not changed. Recreational aqua fitness classes were conducted both at typically recreational, intimate facilities located at hotels, as well as at medium and large facilities, typically sports ones. Conclusions. The conditions, modernity of the facility and location were conducive to increased participation and utilisation of the Szczecin swimming pool base for the purposes of aqua fitness classes. Between the 1890s and the 1960s, sport had a distinctive and varied impact on the social, cultural, political and economic life of the British Jewish community. During this period, Anglo-Jewry developed a clear sporting tradition, in both a direct and indirect sense, and their participation in the world of British sport had a significant impact on processes and discourses surrounding integration, ethnicity and anti-Semitism. Through a broad analysis of archival materials, newspaper sources and oral history, this thesis seeks to examine the influence that sport exerted on the Jewish community – paying particular attention to the ways in which physical recreation affected the internal dynamics of the community and influenced Jewish relations and interactions with the wider non-Jewish population. As will be shown, whilst sport is a useful lens through which to view socio-cultural development within Anglo-Jewish history, evidence suggests that physical recreation also had a notable and noticeable direct impact on Jewish life within Britain. Although Jewish sport history is an expanding field in an international context, it has been largely ignored within British academic research. Within the historiography of Anglo-Jewry, little attention has been paid to the socio-cultural impact of sporting participation. Similarly, within research concerning British sport history, race and immigration are themes that have been generally overlooked. As well as redressing important historiographical gaps, this thesis will also help expand our knowledge of the process behind minority integration and will further demonstrate the wider social importance, and the extensive and varied applications, of the historical study of sport. This thesis demonstrates that sport has been a key area for the creation, maintenance and erosion of Anglo-Jewish identity and has been an arena for the development, reinforcement and undermining of Jewish stereotypes. Sport, effectively, assumed a central role in Jewish life throughout this time period and was a pivotal factor in many social, cultural and political changes affecting the Jewish community of Britain.

- Abstract
Contemporary Polish service enterprises operate in a dynamically changing market environment. Also, the leisure services industry, including sports and recreation services, is developing rapidly, new facilities are being created, new services are offered, and physical activity is promoted, pointing to the health-promoting values of this type of behaviour. Sport and physical activity have nowadays been treated as the basis for social competences, maintaining full strength and health, lifestyle and even a mega leisure trend. Unfortunately, according to research, many Poles still remain passive and do not engage in any physical activity. One of the important aspects of public health is the physical activity of young people. The aim of the work was to determine current trends and to analyze the attitudes of academic youth in the field of sport and physical activity. The role of physical activity and building long-term habits of caring for health is undoubted. In search of factors determining physical activity, it was observed that young people do not undertake physical activity due to lack of time, lack of financial resources or because of their family situation. The study assumes that there is a large relationship between the family situation of students and their physical activity. The results of the study showed that there are other reasons for the lack of physical activity of young people than the family situation. The presented research results may form the basis for creating a program to promote the physical activity of young people and be a starting point in the development of sales activation activities in fitness clubs and other facilities providing sports and recreation services. It can therefore be assumed that a bad mood is not treated in the category of failure, life catastrophe or a state without a way out. The conducted research allowed to show a greater tendency to reduce the level of low mood in women practicing hatha yoga. In the analysis, there were dependencies between the tendencies of mood regulation and gender. These dependencies were seen in women, whereas with men this did not play a significant role research did not play a significant role. However, there was no negative effect of the hatha yoga exercise on the level of mood. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: to reveal the cultural and historical origins of modern sports. Material & Methods: research methods consist of the analysis of the specialized literature that highlights various aspects of the development of the field of people's activities related to the use of physical exercises, as well as the application of a systematic and historiographical approach to the analysis of this problem. To solve the tasks set, an analysis was carried out of the print publications available in the Google Books library, which cover the period from the late 16th century to the present and in which the term "sport". Results: materials obtained using the search engine "Google Books Ngram Viewer" indicate that, since the end of the 16th century in English-language prints, and therefore in social practice, for the generalized name of entertainment activities, people have been used, to some extent, as synonyms, the terms "sport" and "disport" (from the old French "disporter"). And in the process of historical development of society the frequency of using the term "sport", with respect to the frequency of using the term "disport", has constantly grown. Analysis of materials available in the library "Google Books" also indicates that in the process of socio-cultural evolution, the content of the concept of "sport" in English-speaking practice changed. Conclusion: analysis of the literature showed that the problem of the "beginning" of modern sports is one of the top priorities in the development of the general theory. The results of the study indicate that at the beginning of the 19th century the term "sport" was used in English-speaking practice for a more expressive definition of the subjective sense of people's pleasure from completely different activities, that is, to emphasize that such activity was for them a kind of hobby , entertainment, fun.

This article reveals the essence of the importance of involving modern youth in recreational activities, aspects of the formation of physical recreation in Ukraine, the concepts, forms, means and methods of physical recreation are characterized; features of use of motor activity within the limits of physical recreation are specified. Socio-economic changes in Ukraine have affected the health of the population. In addition to positive changes, there are negative phenomena in people's lives, in particular a decrease in life expectancy. Every year the number of students enrolled in special medical groups increases. Factors that negatively affect health should include the deterioration of socio-economic indicators, sanitary-epidemiological and environmental situation in our country, psycho-emotional overload, etc. Today, successful mastering of education is possible only with a sufficiently high level of health, and therefore taking into account the peculiarities of lifestyle, namely physical activity and a positive attitude to physical activity, is an important element of physical education for young people.,

Methods: The study covered all functioning swimming pools within the city of Szczecin, in 2012 (n = 17) and 2019 (n = 16). Results: Both in 2012 and 2019, the use of Szczecin's swimming pools for recreational aqua fitness was considered satisfactory. Conclusions: The conditions, modernity of the facility and location were conducive to increased participation and utilisation of the Szczecin swimming pool base for the purposes of aqua fitness classes.
