This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach to examine modern Islamic boarding school management through Amin Abdullah's Interconnected Entities Theory, aiming to address management problems with scientifically-based solutions to achieve comprehensive targets. The theory addresses issues stemming from reliance solely on leadership experience, such as educator competence imbalances, lack of vision, split personality, and neglected values, which are fundamental to shaping the school's vision, mission, goals, and activities. The study explores whether this theory can be a viable solution for the Al-Amanah Al-Gontory Islamic boarding school in South Tangerang and other similar institutions. The research concludes that Amin Abdullah's Interconnected Entities Theory is an effective framework for developing eligible management by targeting monotheism through good parenting (Hadharah an-nashi), enhancing teacher competence through quality education (Hadharah al-ilmi), and fostering social ethics through a balanced social and economic approach (Hadharah falsafiyah). This study aims to analyze halal perceived values and religious beliefs in influencing the intention to purchase pesantren products which are mediated by consumer attitudes. This study uses 100 respondents from consumers who live on the island of Java and have purchased pesantren products. Then the data were analyzed using a quantitative approach, with the partial least squares (PLS) analysis technique using Smart PLS 4 software. This study shows that halal perceived values and religious beliefs predicts consumer intentions to purchase pesantren products. This study also confirms that consumer attitudes influence the halal perceived values and religious beliefs on consumer intentions to purchase pesantren products. This research provides important insights about the concept of consumer halal beliefs that influence their decision to purchase pesantren products. In addition, Pesantren Business Unit actors must consider the new lifestyle adopted by consumers, where currently consumers tend to have an awareness of the halalness of goods or services in considering and evaluating a particular item before making a purchase. The learning process in education today tends to be focused on developing a memory of the content of information. Few educational institutions still apply learning methods that can train students' thinking skills to find solutions to solving a problem or making a decision. This research aims to identify learning in building the thinking skills of students at Pondok Pesantren (PP) Darussalam Kunir Subang. This pesantren applies the Kuliyyatul Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah (KMI) which combines a system of educational methodology and pesantren teaching (salaf/traditional) with modern education. The approach used in this research is qualitative with descriptive methods to identify, describe, and analyze information needs regarding learning in the pesantren. The subjects in this research were four administrators, four teachers, and thirty students at PP Darussalam Kunir Subang. Data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that learning at PP Darussalam Kunir Subang in the form of turats deliberation activities could train students' thinking skills. This research concludes that efforts to build students' thinking skills in pesantren require a contextual learning process, increase literacy, and involve students actively in learning. Karakter adalah nilai dasar yang membangun pribadi seseorang, terbentuk baik karena pengaruh hereditas maupun pengaruh lingkungan, yang membedakannya dengan orang lain, serta diwujudkan dalam sikap dan perilakunya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Karakter ini bisa juga di wujudkan dengan kegaiatan muhadharah. Menurut Kamus Bahasa Arab, muhadharah berasal dari kata hadhara yang berarti berbicara atau berucap. Maka, muhadharah dapat diartikan sebagai suatu pembicaraan atau ucapan. Namun, dalam konteks keagamaan Islam, muhadharah memiliki makna yang lebih khusus.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengembangan karakter dalam kegiatan Mukona (Muhadharah Qabla Naum) di Pondok Pesantren Khairul Ummah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dan kualitatif dengan menggunakan data yang diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sangat penting untuk mengembangkan sifat-sifat karakter seperti kedisiplinan, rasa percaya diri, kreativitas, dan rasa tanggung jawab dalam kegiatan muqona siswa. Melalui kegiatan Muhadharah Qabla Naum diharapkan para mahasiswa mempunyai rasa percaya diri dan keberanian untuk naik podium. Memberikan nasehat kepada banyak orang dan menumbuhkan sikap disiplin, kreatif dan bertanggung jawab terhadap beban yang dipercayakan kepada kita. Leadership is the ability to influence others through communication, with the goal of encouraging them to be willing to follow the leader's direction with understanding, awareness, and voluntarily. Indicators of Islamic leadership character in students include aspects of religion, discipline, implementation of pesantren programs and Islamic environment, as well as leadership spirit in student council. One way of teaching that can be used by teachers in the learning process is through the assignment method. The application of this method can help prove the leadership abilities possessed by students. Pondok Pesantren Ta'mirul Islam Surakarta, as an Islamic educational institution, faces a series of problems in developing student leadership character through assignment strategies. The respondents who will be the focus of this study are 5 students and 1 administrator. Data collection techniques in qualitative research at Ta'mirul Islam Islamic Boarding School Surakarta use interviews, observations, and documentation. In this study, researchers used interactive analysis of the Miles and Huberman model. The implementation of the assignment strategy at Ta'mirul Islam Islamic Boarding School Surakarta has created an environment that supports the development of strong character and leadership among students. Researchers obtained the results of two important aspects, regarding leadership assignments in Ponpes can contribute in helping students develop an understanding of Islamic values and leadership character development occurs in the context of assignment strategies at Ta'mirul Islam Islamic Boarding School Surakarta. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the PAI learning assignment strategy has a significant impact in strengthening the leadership character of students at the Ta'mirul Islam Islamic Boarding School Surakarta.

This study aims to elucidate Persis's pivotal role in fostering the growth of Islamic boarding school institutions in Indonesia between 1923 and 1962. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research utilizes library research methods and content analysis. Primary sources include the Sipatahoenan Newspaper and Bendera Islam. The findings reveal that Persis's emphasis on primary and secondary education has culminated in the establishment of 230 Islamic Unity Islamic Boarding Schools nationwide. Moreover, Persis has notably founded the Islamic Education University as a tertiary-level institution. The organization also facilitates courses and discussion forums addressing religious matters and disseminates literature to advance the discourse on Islamic propagation and education renewal. Regarding the educational curriculum, Persis integrates Islamic studies, Quranic teachings, and Hadith studies with conventional education. However, challenges persist in the operational aspects of Islamic educational institutions, necessitating enhancements in management practices, augmenting educational facilities, and bolstering the quality of human resources.

After the reformation era in 1998, Islamic education, either Pesantren or Madrasah, has witnessed significant growth. Unlike during the Dutch, Soekarno, and Soeharto eras, when Islamic education remained marginalized, Indonesia recently houses the biggest Islamic education system where thousands of Pesantren become homes to Muslim children. Nonetheless, the fall of the later regime in 1998 has hitherto marked the prominence of Pesantren education nationwide along with the rise of Salafi-based Pesantren. This article aimed to discover three novel ultra-conservative variants of Salafi-based Pesantren and their contestation against other Islamic organizations promoting social tension and prejudice. Therefore, using a qualitative research method, the study's main aim is to identify how Islamic school institutions develop influenced by the movement of Islamic groups in Indonesia, specifically Islamic boarding schools. In doing so, this study interviewed 190 informants from 39 of 8 provinces. This study unveiled three Salafi-based Pesantren variants: Salafi jihadis, Salafi Wahabi, and Salafi Haraki. The traditional pen and paper-based administrative processes in Pondok Pesantren have been time-consuming and error-prone. To address these challenges, the E-Santren app system was developed to modernize and streamline administrative tasks. This research paper examines the acceptance and impact of the E-Santren app system as an alternative to the traditional approach. The study aimed to assess educators' perceptions and experiences regarding the implementation of the app system. Gorunded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), a mixed-methods approach was employed, including a questionnaire survey and a focused group discussion. The results showed a positive acceptance of the E-Santren app system, with participants recognizing its benefits in terms of efficiency, accuracy, monitoring capabilities, and student compliance. This highlights a willingness among educators to adopt the new method, shifting away from traditional practices. - Abstract
Scabies is an infectious skin disease that is often found in densely populated residential areas such as Islamic boarding schools. The role of managers as role models, infrastructure providers and policy makers is very important for controlling scabies in Islamic boarding schools. The aim of this research is to see the level of knowledge and self-efficacy of managers before and after providing education. This research is a quasi-experimental study to compare the effect of education in the intervention group. This research was conducted at two Islamic boarding schools in Bangka Belitung. Islamic boarding school A as a place for education and Islamic boarding school B as a control group. 30 managers each from the intervention group and the control group consisting of leaders, secretaries, ustaz, administrators and student administrators participated in this research. Data was collected through validated questionnaires given before and after education. As a comparison, a pretest and posttest were also carried out in the control group. Data were processed with SPSS version 25 and tested with the marginal homogeneity test. The data shows that education is effective in increasing managers' knowledge about scabies (p<0.01) but education is not effective in increasing managers' self-efficacy (p;0.219) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Kecenderungan inferioritas generasi muda semakin meningkat, ditandai dengan kekurangpercayaan diri terhadap budayanya sendiri. Pergaulan dan life style juga mengarah pada sikap individualis, materialis, hedonis, menggejolaknya politik identitas dan tidak jarang menujukkan pada perilaku yang amoral lainnya. Selain itu juga muncul pada konteks kebangsaan Indonesia yang mengakomodir pluralitas tersebut, tidak jarang memicu konflik dan perpecahan ditandai dengan muncul kelompok-kelompok kontra-Pancasila dengan dalih tidak sesuai dengan paham keagamaan yang dianut. Pesantren menjadi lembaga pendidikan Islam yang dinilai mampu membentuk santri dilandasi dengan nilai moralitas. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan dan penguatan nilai-nilai ideologi kebangsaan (Pancasila) kepada santri di Pesantren Mahasiswa An Najah Purwokerto melalui program Sekolah Pancasila. Metode pelaksanaa PkM ini meliputi tahap persiapan yaitu workshop kerja dan studi literatur, tahap pelakansaanya meliputi studi dokumen, workshop, studi meja, FGD dan Sekolah Pancasila dan terakhir adalah tahap pelaporan. Adapun program pengabdian ini adalah untuk menguatkan nilai-nilai ideologi kebangsaan pada santri di Pesantren Mahasiswa An Najah Purwokerto, sehingga memberikan penguatan santri dalam memahami dan menghayati nilai-nilai Pancasila sehingga dapat menjadi dasar dalam pola pikir dan berperilaku di dalam realitas kehidupan masyarakat yang beragam.

This study aims to evaluate the financial management of API Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Secang Islamic Boarding School through the implementation of the Financial Management Information System (SIMKEU) application. The background of this research is that the challenges in financial recording that are still done manually, prone to errors, and take a long time. The research method used uses a case study approach with a qualitative approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with pesantren leaders and administrative staff, direct observation of the financial management process, and analysis of documents related to pesantren finance. The research was carried out at API Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Secang Islamic Boarding School over a certain period. The results showed that the implementation of SIMKEU succeeded in increasing efficiency in recording and financial management by reducing the time required for the transaction recording process and improving the accuracy of financial statements. However, the study also identified several challenges, such as issues with information and communication technology infrastructure that need to be improvement, and the initial adaptation phase requiring extra time and effort from pesantren staff. Based on the study’s results, it is recommended to enhance information and communication technology infrastructure, and increase training for pesantren staff to maximize the benefits of SIMKEU implementation in the future. In conclusion, the implementation of SIMKEU at API Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Secang Islamic Boarding School has made a significant contribution in improving the efficiency and transparency of Islamic boarding school financial management. This study provides practical guidance for other pesantren that want to adopt similar technologies in an effort to improve financial management effectively and efficiently.

This research aims to investigate the role of the hidden curriculum in fostering a moderate character among students at Al-Ilahiyyah Islamic Boarding School in Ngoro, Jombang. Utilizing a qualitative case study design, the research involves Kiai, Ustadz, and students as participants. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that: (1) there are five critical components of the hidden curriculum at the boarding school that contribute to developing students' moderate character, namely congregational prayers, religious book study sessions, public speaking, discussions, student life, and daily social interactions; (2) these components embody core values of moderation such as balance, openness, tolerance, non-imposition of opinions, and harmonious coexistence in diversity; (3) through the processes of habituation and internalization of these values, students' characters increasingly reflect moderate qualities. Consequently, the hidden curriculum significantly contributes to enhancing the moderate character of students at the studied location, as demonstrated by the diversity that allows the boarding school community to coexist peacefully.

Food is one of many global challenges that require significant attention. Indonesia, with the majority Muslim population and the largest number of pesantren in the world, has become the second biggest food contributor in the world. It is inconsistent with the principles of Islam. This research is concerned with the implementation of an integrative approach to food management in pesantren through the integration of agriculture and entrepreneurship education. Pesantren, as a self-sustaining community, provides an ideal medium to explore sustainable practices. This research is a qualitative case using the triangulation method with both observation and documentation techniques. This research involves the implementation of a structured education program within the Pesantren that combines agricultural practices and entrepreneurial skills. The results highlighted that by integrating agriculture and entrepreneurship education, pesantren communities significantly contributed to reducing the number of food. The results of this research demonstrate the effectiveness of integrating agriculture and entrepreneurship education in reduction, honing skills, and fostering a sense of responsibility and sustainable practices among residents. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating education and entrepreneurship for holistic food management in Pesantren. The discussion delved into the social, economic, and environmental implications, highlighting the potential for scalability and adaptation in other similar settings. This integrative approach does more than solve the food problem; instead, it also contributes to developing people skills and sustaining the community in Pesantren.

Pesantren Darussalam Gontor is one of the oldest and most prominent pesantren in Indonesia, known for its excellent education system and teaching quality. To ensure the sustainability of its development, Gontor implements the Panca Jangka concept as a long-term development plan. This paper employs literature review and content analysis to examine the Panca Jangka concept implemented in Pesantren Gontor and its impacts on the advancement of the boarding school. Relevant data regarding Pesantren Gontor were gathered from various literature. Panca Jangka consists of five key aspects; education and teaching, cadre training, facilities establishment, self-financing, and the welfare of the pesantren community. Its implementation has brought significant positive impacts, such as improvement in educational quality, the establishment of a nationally accredited university, and economic empowerment of the surrounding community. Comprehensively, Panca Jangka plays a vital role in advancing Pesantren Gontor and contributing to the development of pesantren in Indonesia. Gontor becomes a prime example of modern pesantren management that adapts effectively to the changing times.

The Qur’an, as a guide for every Muslim, is understood as a sentiment that is able to manifest the cultural behavior of society. In one study, understanding and meaning between the Al-Qur’an and life is called “living Qur’an”. This living Qur’an research discusses the use of Surah Al-Qadr as a talisman in farming in the rokat sabe tradition of the Dawuhan community, Probolinggo, which aims to describe how society emulates the function of the Al-Qur’an in everyday life. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive-analytical inductive patterns. The research results show that this tradition is a tradition left by previous ancestors. In this tradition, people believe that Surah Al-Qadr is a reading that can bring glory and prosperity and can fertilize plants, based on Surah Al-Qadr, which means “glory”. This is consistent with Quraish Sihab’s argument in Tafsir Al-Misbah, which explains that the Al-Qur’an is noble; it was revealed to a nobleman (the prophet Muhammad), and its glory increased by being revealed on a noble night, too. Apart from that, local people are also famous for the term “santri nderek Kiai” because they have a santri spirit and are very obedient to kiai, who are considered religious figures and local regional leaders. This is proven by the existence of several religious rituals in the Rokat Sabe tradition, namely making the Surah Al-Qadr as a talisman for farming.

We will explore how education in pesantren provides a strong foundation for the values of harmony, how Santri engages in interfaith activities, and how their contributions help maintain peace in the country. The results of this research show that first, in the context of religious harmony in Indonesia, santri in pesantren has a significant role in maintaining and strengthening inter-religious harmony. Second, they have a central role in internalizing the values of harmony, tolerance, and anti-radicalism.

Entrepreneurship greatly contributes to increasing competitiveness, creating jobs, gaining career opportunities, and accelerating economic growth. There have been many studies related to entrepreneurship, but unfortunately, none of them has reviewed the competency framework of entrepreneurship as a life skill, especially in pesantren (Islamic boarding schools). The purpose of this research is to provide an overview of the state of entrepreneurial literacy and skills based on its competency framework. This study describes how to obtain ideas and opportunities, map the resources owned, and take actions to map the entrepreneurial culture built by pesantren. This research is conducted at Pesantren Sirojul Huda. The method used is a qualitative descriptive research method with data collection techniques through interviews and observation. As a result, three thematic areas: (1) ideas and opportunities, (2) resources, and (3) into action, it was found that the mapping of Islamic boarding school entrepreneurial culture was going well, and synergy between the parties in the Islamic boarding school was created thanks to the interpersonal communication carried out. Interpersonal communication has a big role in making this happen.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the moral preservation efforts of Pondok Pesantren Syaichona Moh. Cholil Bangkalan in educating students through the teachings of Tarekat Syadziliyah. Pondok Pesantren Syaichona Moh. Cholil Bangkalan has a uniqueness in its method; namely, all students who are still teenagers actively follow the amaliyah of Tarekat Syadziliyah. The research method used is a qualitative approach with the type of case study, which describes how the internalisation of Tarekat Syadziliyah values affects the moral formation of santri. Research data were obtained through interviews, observations, and collection of documentation data related to the research subject. Data validity test was conducted using the triangulation technique. The results of this study explain two main aspects—first, the morals of students developed at the Syaichona Moh. Cholil Bangkalan Islamic Boarding School include morals towards God, the Prophet Muhammad, personal morals, morals in the family, and state morals. Second, the internalisation of Tarekat Syadziliyah values in shaping the morals of santri is carried out through faith, amaliyah, scientific, moral, and social education. Through this approach, Syaichona Moh. Cholil Bangkalan Islamic Boarding School has succeeded in forming good santri morals and contributing to the formation of their character as individuals with noble morals.

Indonesia rates fourth out of the top 15 countries in the global Islamic economic indicator nomination for the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2022. As the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia has the potential to develop its halal industry. Islamic financial instruments, such as waqf, are vital to the halal industry. Many countries, including Indonesia, have demonstrated the effectiveness of employing productive waqf in Pesantren to provide financial support for education. With 37,614 Pesantren in Indonesia, these institutions can stimulate local economies through productive waqf and business ventures that correlate with local geographies and emerging potential, such as using waqf for capital business or Pesantren business units. Therefore, the economic growth in Pesantren positively affects the halal industry. However, several obstacles impede the development of a productive waqf in Pesantren, resulting in suboptimal performance. This study examines strategies to optimize productive waqf implementation in Pesantren to support the halal industry and strengthen the economy. This library-based study employs a descriptive methodology to collect data on literacy, which is then subjected to content analysis or other forms of scientific analysis. This study identified strategies to overcome obstacles in waqf management to establish a productive waqf in Pesantren and positively influence the development of the halal industry in Indonesia. Psycholinguistics in the curriculum provides the basics for teachers in formulating objectives for teaching. The method in this research uses a quantitative type of research to determine the relationship between psycholinguistics and language learning methods. The existence of pesantren today, apart from being an educational institution in the religious field, is also expected to be able to provide an example towards creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship to students. The purpose of this service activity is to empower the application of probio_Fm technology in laying duck cultivation, transfer knowledge of laying duck cultivation, and build an entrepreneurial spirit for students and the community around the boarding school. The service method uses an active participatory approach, starting with preparation and socialization activities, training, mentoring in duck cultivation, harvesting, and data collection. Data analysis was carried out by qualitative descriptive analysis. The results show that the pesantren community has been empowered to apply probio_FM technology for duck cultivation, both through drinking water and feed. The application of probio_FM technology in the cultivation of laying ducks makes the cultivation method easy, does not cause odors around the pesantren environment, and egg productivity reaches 87.5%. Purpose – The purpose of this study is to explain the types of leadership implemented at the Al-Munawwir Islamic Boarding School, Gipa al-Qasim Complex, Sewon Bantul, and how this leadership motivates students to memorize the Qur’an. Method – This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection methods including interviews, documentation, and observation, as well as data analysis involving data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. Data validity is tested using source and technique triangulation. Findings – The study reveals that the paternalistic and charismatic leadership of the Kyai significantly enhances the motivation of santri kalong in memorizing the Qur'an. The reciprocal relationship between the Kyai and the santri fosters respect and a desire for blessings, with the Kyai's advice and exemplary behavior positively influencing the santri's motivation and Islamic character. The use of the sorogan method for evaluating memorization improves both the quantity and fluency of recitation, encouraging continuous review. These findings highlight the crucial role of leadership style in motivating santri. The study also emphasizes the need to improve communication between santri kalong and the Kyai and addresses challenges like the imbalance in study time and lack of commitment among non-resident santri. Despite these challenges, the Kyai's leadership proves vital in motivating santri kalong, significantly impacting their progress in Qur'an memorization. Research Implications – The implications of this research include educational learning, leadership development, educational policy. The study highlights the importance of the Kyai’s role in shaping the character and motivation of santri in Islamic boarding schools.

Prior to the 1961 Vienna Statute, only state actors were allowed to engage in diplomatic activities; however, non-state actors, including private citizens, are now included as well. This is, of course, based on several factors, starting from the flow of globalization to the role of the state, which is still unable to resolve certain issues, especially in the realm of peace advocacy. Of the many non-state actors involved in the practice of modern diplomacy, one of them is the individual actor, namely santri. Santri, in this case, has great potential and opportunities to become an actor in the world of diplomacy, especially in spreading peace advocacy. This condition can be seen through the historical record of santri, which has produced many peace-oriented movements. The dissemination of advocacy values also does not forget to highlight the characteristics of the Islam Nusantara identity, which is tolerant, friendly, and inclusive. In this regard, this research aims to explain the role of santri as diplomatic actor, especially in multi-track diplomacy to promote the Islamic values of Nusantara. The results of this research also prove that the role of santri in the realm of diplomacy is very broad and can be carried out through various multi-track diplomatic activities, ranging from inter-religious dialogue and santri exchange programs to the use of media platforms for da'wah media, which have become part of the form of novel diplomacy. In addition, to support this research, the author utilizes a qualitative research framework through the use of descriptive analysis methods and historical methods to obtain secondary data, based on internet-based research technique.

Learning in pesantren that lasts twenty-four hours indicates that every activity is education for students. Various characteristics such as religiosity, entrepreneurship, and leadership can be formed through existing activities, especially sorogan. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of hidden curriculum pesantren in instilling leadership values in Roudlotul Fatihah Traditional Islamic Boarding School through learning activities in the form of sorogan. This is because research on leadership through hidden curriculum is rarely revealed, in contrast to research on religiosity and entrepreneurship in the pesantren environment. In addition, this research can contribute to the current leadership crisis phenomenon. The author uses qualitative methods in processing data from field research using a phenomenological approach. The process of concluding the previous steps is data condensation and data presentation. The findings of applying hidden curriculum in the Raoudlotul Fatihah Traditional Islamic Boarding School in sorogan activities include the Quran, tools in the form of nahwu and shorof, and books of worship. Activities in pesantren have instilled leadership values in delegation, responsibility, truthfulness, accuracy, and initiation. The end of the study concluded that the hidden curriculum of pesantren has formed students to have leader values without realizing it with all the activities that have been carried out.

Abstract This study aims to see political patronage in the concept of citizenship in the Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah Medan pesantren. Pesantren Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah is one of the modern pesantren that has kiai as an important figure. However, the relationship between kiai and santri tends to be emotional, cultural, and forms patronage. Kiai is a patron who has power and influence. While santri is a client group that has a sami'na wa atho'na attitude. This patronage is not only in religious matters but also in political matters. Referring to the concept of citizenship, the patronage established between Kiai and Santri is considered contrary to democratic principles. This is because the political behaviour of students is still influenced by kiai figures. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Primary data is deep interviews. While secondary data is sourced from books and journals. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and FGDs. While the data validation technique uses the triangulation method. The results of the study found that political patronage in the Ponpes Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah took the form of half-hearted political patronage. The obedience of santri to kiai is limited to religious matters only, not in political matters. ------------------- Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat patronase politik dalam konsep kewarganegaraan di pesantren Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah Medan. Pesantren Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah merupakan salah satu pesantren modern yang memiliki kiai sebagai figur penting. Akan tetapi hubungan yang terjalin antara kiai dan santri cenderung bersifat emosional kultural dan membentuk patronase. Kiai merupakan patron yang memiliki power dan pengaruh. Sedangkan santri adalah kelompok client yang memiliki sikap sami’na wa atho’na. Patronase ini tidak hanya dalam urusan agama saja, melainkan juga dalam persoalan politik. Merujuk pada konsep kewarganegaraan, patronase yang terjalin antara kiai dan santri dianggap berlawanan dengan prinsip demokrasi. Hal ini dikarenakan perilaku politik santri masih dipengaruhi oleh figure kiai. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Data primer berupa deep interview. Sedangkan data sekunder bersumber dari buku dan jurnal. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan FGD. Sedangkan teknik validasi data menggunakan metode triangulasi. Adapun hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa patronase politik di ponpes Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah berbentuk patronase politik setengah hati. The goal of this study is to ascertain how religious moderation is being strengthened at the Pesantren Bany Syafii (PBS), which is situated in the center of a residential neighborhood in the city of Cilegon. Data for this qualitative study were gathered through observation, documentation, and interviews. The findings demonstrated that PBS had implemented religious moderation for students through the teaching of the kitab kuning supported by regular rituals like group prayer, recitation of the book, discussions, jam'iyah, and mutual assistance as well as the involvement of the students in extracurricular activities. Aside from that, santri are trained to respect everyone surrounding the boarding school, regardless of their differing religious beliefs. So, This learning on religious tolerance is complementary.

The aim of this research is to determine the form of integration of Islamic boarding school efforts with local wisdom and Islamic values authentically in strengthening Islamic identity in a global context. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data was collected from observation, interviews, and documentation. Key informants in this research included one of the caregivers, the head of the Islamic boarding school, and the Tarbiyatul Islamiyah Foundation Islamic Boarding School Education Bureau. Data is analyzed through data condensation, data presentation, and concluding. Source triangulation techniques were used to obtain valid and relevant data. One form of integration of Tarbiyatul Islamiyah Foundation Islamic boarding school education with local wisdom and authentic Islamic values , which are still strong today as an act of strengthening Islamic identity in globalization is (1) Integration of the bandongan method and (2) sorogan method into book literacy culture. Yellow as well as Qur'an literacy culture. Islamic boarding school activities are an acculturation activity of the teachings of Islamic civilization and the local culture of the Indonesian people.

The research focuses on investigating the strategies and management applied in the Hifdzul Al-Qur'an program at two Islamic educational institutions, namely the Nurul Jadid Paiton Islamic Boarding School and the Nurul Qodim Kalikajar Islamic Boarding School. The primary aim of the research is to comprehensively understand how these boarding schools plan their Quranic memorization strategies. The research methodology employed a qualitative case study approach. The researcher utilized purposive sampling to engage various stakeholders such as regional heads, tahfidz administrators, students, guardians, and the local community in in-depth interviews. The findings revealed that both boarding schools have structured planning focusing on Quranic memorization techniques and comprehensive learning activities. The implications drawn from this research on the management of Hifdzul Al-Qur'an in Islamic boarding schools hold substantial significance for educational practices and institutional development.
