The person-centered approach has provided numerous evidence for three clinically relevant personality types: a Resilient, an Undercontrolled, and an Overcontrolled type (RUO). The present study investigated whether (1) the RUO types could be identified within a large, diverse clinical population based upon transdiagnostical temperament factors, including Behavioral Approach and Inhibition Systems (BIS/BAS) and Effortful Control (EC), and (2) these types differed in terms of psychopathology. Self-report questionnaires, including the BIS/BAS scales, EC scale, Symptom-Checklist-90-Revised, and The Assessment of DSM-IV Personality Disorder, were administered to 2693 psychiatric inpatients. Based on a two-step cluster analysis we corroborated a Resilient (n = 959), an Undercontrolled/Dysregulated (n = 859), and an Overcontrolled/Inhibited (n = 875) type. The latter exhibited more internalizing psychopathology, whereas the undercontrolled/dysregulated type revealed more externalizing psychopathology. The resilient type showed the lowest levels of psychopathology. The present findings strengthen evidence that RUO typologies can be generalized across different psychopathologies and transdiagnostically shed light on the clinical importance of distinguishing subtypes to inform therapeutic interventions, which might possibly improve outcome and reduce relapse. Typology of women in Beyhaqi's history emphasizes on nine classificationsn of the Enneagram. Beyhaghi history is an indication of a part of the court atmosphere in the fifth century. The eleven-yearlong rulling period of Masoud's is the full extent of this text, and consequently, other heroes have also entered the arena of Beyhaqi's history in order to show the aspect of creating space, characterizing and expressing Beyhaqi's theory of government and literary tendency. The women of this text often reveal their types in connection with the court and courtiers. The purpose of this descriptive-analytical essay, assuming the realism of Beyhaqi's writing and narration, is the typology of women in Beyhaqi's history, with emphasis on the nine classification of the Enneagram. The findings of this study have indicated that Beyhaghi, having noticed the limitations of the subject and writing for the government, refused to fully address the identity and personality of women and only included five romantic categories of the sad, the boss, the perfectionist, the helper, and the observer. Precisely, these were associated with the historical events or court affairs. To be locanic, he has introduced that they correspond to Enneagram personality types. This is due to the fact that women in the Ghaznavid period have a limited, faint, and transitory presence in social arenas. Only women who were connected with the court and were present in the upbringing of elders, or those who were wise, influenced on history, entertainment and political conspiracies were introduced. Beyhaqi's rejection and acceptance should be understood from these passing references. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The commercial real estate market offers two facets: on the one hand, consumers face difficulties in making investment decisions, and on the other, developers are driven by the need to create investment products. The article presents a psychographic consumer segmentation methodology and tests it in conditions of the commercial real estate market. The theoretical framework of the study is classical marketing theory. The Enneagram method is applied to reveal consumers’ subconscious motives behind their behavioural characteristics and investment decision-making, in particular. Additionally, the LOV method is used to clarify investors’ values and motives. The empirical evidence of the research is the survey data from 10 experts in the field of marketing for construction obtained using the Delphi method and Thomas Saaty’s Analytic Hierarchy Process, as well as data from 53 actual and potential investors in commercial real estate. The author’s own consumer segmentation method is proposed, which is designed according to the specificities of the commercial real estate market. As part of the methodology testing, we have identified the types of investors and formulated a marketing programme for one of the priority types that provides for increasing the loyalty to, and recognition of, the organization among investors. The in-depth study of consumers’ personality types and values has substantially contributed to the development of an investment product and its successful promotion among potential investors.

Job satisfaction is a highly relevant topic across all sectors of the national economy worldwide. A contented employee significantly enhances a company's performance compared to a dissatisfied one. Simultaneously, a contented employee increases the human capital value of the company, which has a substantial impact on its overall value. However, employee satisfaction is not a static state; it can be influenced by various factors, one of which is perceived workload resulting from the nature of the job. The aim of this article is to investigate whether there is a demonstrable impact of perceived workload on employee satisfaction. This relationship is examined within the context of subway train drivers in the Czech Republic. In exploring this relationship, we also delve into the psychological factor of whether there is a connection between perceived workload and the satisfaction of subway train drivers based on their personality types according to the MBTI test. These dependencies are assessed through correlation analysis using a comprehensive dataset obtained. In the course of the research, data were collected from the entire basic sample of respondents, namely from 654 subway train drivers. The results confirmed the existing influence of perceived workload on employee satisfaction and, concurrently, the influence of perceived workload on employee satisfaction based on the personality typology determined by the MBTI test. These findings are undoubtedly beneficial for the management of transportation companies, particularly those involved in passenger transportation, specifically in the provision of subway services. Purpose. To study the relationship between a person’s self-concept and their interests and fulfillment in the four spheres of life: communication, resources, cognition and power. Work method/methodology. For this purpose, we used an originally authored methodology for the identification of personality types as per the A. Afanasyev's typology and a questionnaire that the authors designed to identify person's interests, preferences and desires, and calculated the point-biserial correlation coefficient. Findings. The research ascertained a statistically significant correlation between person's perceptions of their potency and their interest in fulfilling in the four spheres of life: communication, resources, cognition and power. We found that there is a positive correlation between a person's self-esteem concerning the four spheres and a corresponding level of their ambition, as well as between the number of intrapersonal conflicts in a sphere and a strategy of these conflicts' resolution. Application of the findings. The suggested psychoanalysis-based typology will benefit recruiters and other helping profession specialists, who will be able to quickly evaluate person's childhood experiences and their prospects for fulfillment in a given capacity.

Abstract Background Using a personality typing approach, we investigated the relationship between personality profiles and the prediction of longterm illness severity in patients with bipolar disorder (BD). While previous research suggests associations between BD and traits from the NEO-FFI profiles, the current study firstly aimed to identify latent classes of NEO-FFI profiles, and, secondly, to examine their impact on the longterm prognosis of BD. Methods Based on the NEO-FFI profiles of 134 euthymic patients diagnosed with BD (64.2% female, mean age = 44.3 years), successive latent profile analyses were conducted. Subsequently, a subsample (n = 80) was examined prospectively by performing multiple regression analysis of the latent classes to evaluate the longitudinal course of the disease (mean: 54.7 weeks) measured using a modified Morbidity Index. Results The latent profile analyses suggested a 3-class model typifying in a resilient (n = 68, 51%), vulnerable (n = 55, 41%) and highly vulnerable (n = 11, 8%) class. In the regression analysis, higher vulnerability predicted a higher longterm Morbidity Index (R 2 = 0.28). Conclusions Subgroups of patients with BD share a number of discrete personality features and their illness is characterized by a similar clinical course. This knowledge is valuable in a variety of clinical contexts including early detection, intervention planning and treatment process.

The fulfillment of the role of a nurse is highly demanding on the personality of this professional and the quality of professional training. The aim of the research was to specify students’ personal prerequisites for fulfilling the role of general nurse. The researched group consisted of students of General Nurse program in the period 2013–2018. The test tools included the MBTI® (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) test and Belbin’s team role test. The basic findings showed that in the group of 53% of respondents the so-called temperament of the Guardian was identified (SJ), which is suitable for the work of general nurses. The second large group consisted of Idealists, for whom the temperament of Diplomat – NF – 35.8% is common, whose characteristics also strongly correspond to the requirements of nursing practice. The Implementer and Team Worker represented the team role with the highest affinity in 54% of respondents. It is thus possible to assume that the chosen work will be satisfactory for those individuals and there is a presumption to be successful in their future work.

We present the results of the study of the actors’ personality development psychological characteristics. It was hypothesized that the analysis of the similarities between individual profiles of student-actors can reveal personal typological features at the stage of selection and training in theatrical college. Sample: students of the theatre college, 129 students at the beginning and 117 — at the end of the 1st year, 64 — second year, 54 — third year, and 41 — fourth year students. Methods: R. Cattell’s 16 Personality Factors Test. Results: we identified personal characteristics that manifested themselves at the stage of admission to college and inhibited successful professional development: rejection of authorities, desire to dominate, refusal to cooperate and work together. Cluster analysis revealed four personal types of student-actors related to theatrical roles. The following strategies of pedagogical influence manifested in the process of work with college students: individualization of training, transfer of professional knowledge through senior students. Conclusions: the study proved the efficiency and feasibility of using the method of cluster analysis and typological approach in the study of acting talent.

The analysis included the reception of René Le Senne's theory of personality by psychology and pedagogy of the second half of the 20th century. The work reveals the extraordinary topicality of the typology in modern times, with still the observed lack of cooperation between psychologists and educators dealing with pedagogical axiology, the theory of upbringing and education. The typology survived thanks to the treatises of an outstanding scientist - Professor Janusz Tarnowski, whose dissertations in the field of personal-existential pedagogy of dialogue are reconstructed in this work and supplemented with philosophical interpretation by Tadeusz Gadacz in order to understand why the Le Senne's typology is absent from social sciences and humanities as the basis for modern upbringing and self-education. Various psychological typologies are widely used to improve the effectiveness of personnel management around the world. The most widespread are typologies built on the basis of the typology of C. G. Jung, which have bipolar grounds for highlighting psychotypes. The article deals with neurophysiological typology. The neurophysiological features of the human body are used as the basis for distinguishing types: four interconnected pairs of nervous systems that ensure the functioning of a person (somatic and autonomic nervous system; sensory and motor subsystems; sympathetic and parasympathetic subsystems; first and second signaling systems).,

Sel põhjusel on viimase kahe aastakümne jooksul tehtud palju uuringuid mõistmaks kuidas need digitaalsed kommunikatsioonitehnoloogiad mõjutavad kasutajate vaimset tervist. Kokkuvõttes näitab käesolev doktoritöö, et digitaalsete kommunikatsioonitehnoloogiate mõju vaimsele tervisele on keeruline ja sõltub digitaalsete kommunikatsioonitehnoloogiate kasutusviiside ja kasutajate omaduste vastastikusest interaktsioonist., The rise of smartphones and social networking sites (SNS) has been accompanied by concerns inside and outside academia that these digital communication technologies negatively influence mental health. For this reason, much work has been done in the past two decades to understand how these digital communication technologies impact mental health. Past research predominantly focused on the amount of time people spend using smartphones and SNS. This yielded mixed findings and meta-analyses revealed that, on average, the effect of smartphone and SNS usage on mental health is negative but small. However, focusing on overall usage time does not take into account (1) usage types, (2) user characteristics, and (3) the distinction between non-problematic and problematic usage of digital communication techno¬logies, and how the interplay between these three aspects impacts mental health. The present dissertation addresses these three key limitations and enhances our understanding of this pressing matter. First, this dissertation shows that different usage types of SNS (e.g., active versus passive) and smartphones (e.g., social versus non-social) are differentially related to mental health. Second, it demonstrates that these relationships differ systematically across users and identifies vulner¬ability factors in these relationships (e.g., neuroticism). Third, this dissertation also clarifies the complex direct and indirect relationships between these vulnerability factors, problematic usage of digital communication technologies, and mental health outcomes. Overall, this dissertation demonstrates that the impact of digital communication technologies on mental health is complex and depends on an interaction between usage types and user characteristics., https://www.ester.ee/record=b5543436

This study briefly reviewed and summarized published studies related to the Sasang typology in order to investigate the common psychological characteristics in each type and suggest conceptual and methodological implications for future research. A total of 44 articles written in Korean between 1990 and 2014, and that used objective measures of personality, were selected from two Korean database for this study. The number of publications, type of scale used, and distribution of each Sasang type were reviewed and summarized. From these works, it was found that there was significant common ground between the classification of Sasang types, which is rooted in Eastern concepts, and the psychological features and types revealed by objective personality measures used in Western psychology. On the basis of these findings, the degree of overlap between Eastern and Western personality typologies was highlighted, and further considerations for developing a more valid and objective classification method, and the limitations of the existing searching method and scope were discussed.

Personality preference is a key determinant of productive, effective healthcare teams. It is important that educators understand the impact of personality typology and incorporate strategies to enhance a student's leadership capacity. This non-experimental survey was designed to examine pretest/posttest findings about personality typology and participant feedback. The 18 health profession undergraduate students participated in a leadership program from September 2013 through May 2014. Their learning objectives focused on the relationship of personality typology to teamoriented processes. The students completed the Myers Briggs Type Indicator before and after the leadership program. Findings indicated that the most common personality profile among these students was ENFP for the pretest (n = 4,22%) and ESTPfor the posttest (n = 4, 22%). Insights gained from students' leadership experiences helped them better understand their individual personality and the personalities of others which they found were critical to successfully optimize interpersonal, group, and team processes. This article touches upon issues related to the possibility of maintaining the unity of self-consciousness in the temporal continuity, the difference between self-identification and self-consciousness, as well as the role of the subject in the process of self-constructing. Modernity provides a large number of technologies for self-identification. They create a simplified image of self-consciousness: self-awareness is understood as a thing endowed with certain qualities. Their disadvantage is not only that they offer a simplified, schematic view of an individual, a pattern into which much, if not all, can fit. These self-identification technologies are often misunderstood, identified with the process of self-consciousness. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish the procedures of self-identification and the process of self-consciousness, ― it does not lend itself to patterns. Self-identification is a technological process. Self-consciousness is an intuitive-interpretive activity, not a discursive one. The article presents the desubstantivist concept of “Self”, demonstrates the need for introduction of temporality into the concept of “Self”, how self-conscious activity unfolds in time, what is its specificity, and how it differs from the procedure for self-identification.

We explored the clinical relevance of resilient, overcontrolled and undercontrolled personality types based upon DSM-5 maladaptive personality traits. We examined if these prototypes could be differentiated in terms of personality functioning, and internalizing and externalizing pathology. Self-report questionnaires and structured interviews were administered to 192 adult patients referred to a mental health care center specialized in assessment and treatment of personality disorders. Through cluster analysis we identified a resilient type with no elevation on maladaptive trait domains and showing better personality functioning and less pathology than the overcontrolled and undercontrolled types. Furthermore, the overcontrolled type had elevated Negative Affectivity and a higher prevalence of mood disorders, whereas the undercontrolled type had elevations on all maladaptive traits, with the exception of Disinhibition, and higher rates of narcissistic and borderline personality disorders. Given the differences in psychopathology between the types, identifying these types may inform treatment focus. Also, in line with a stepped care model, compared to overcontrollers, resilient types may need less intensive treatment and undercontrollers may need more intensive treatment., personality typology, maladaptive DSM-5 personality traits, resilient, undercontrolled, overcontrolled, personality functioning, psychopathology

Abstract: This study aims to explore the utility of resilient, overcontrolled and undercontrolled personality prototypes in discriminating 735 elderly Italian adults with regards to their well-being, quality of interpersonal relationships, and leisure activities. Prototype membership, corresponding to the three types, was identified through cluster analysis of Big Five self-ratings. The three prototypes clearly differed in terms of their life and health satisfaction, positive affectivity, interpersonal trust, civic and social engagement and leisure activities. Resilients showed the most positive profile; undercontrollers mistrusted their family members, whereas overcontrollers reported particularly low satisfaction and a scarce involvement in social and recreation activities. Personality type has a significant relationship with a number of personality traits and behaviours that have a direct impact on success in practice, including the field of recreation and leisure (recreology). Hitherto, the possibility of research that monitors the preferred personality types according to the MBTI typology in these students has not been used. Therefore, we conducted a questionnaire survey (n = 180) and also asked a number of respondents to create a pictorial representation of the study field of recreology (n = 53). The results show that we can perceive certain differences from the general population, thus characterizing the specific features of students in the field of recreology. The most represented types among the respondents were ENFP (14.8%) and ENFJ (14.5%) out of a total of 16 possibilities. With regard to possible cognitive types, almost half of the sample belongs to the NF type, which is called "heuristic". In comparison with other research studies, it is evident that the "systematic" ST type, which, on the contrary, is characteristic of professions such as engineers or accounting, is relatively less represented among students heading into the field of recreation and leisure services. In the first part, this thesis is examining the psychology of C. G. Jung, especially those parts, which are somehow connected to interpersonal relationships. That means foremostly the psychological projections and mechanisms, which are causing those projections. By those mechanisms, I mean the dynamics of consciousness - unconsciousness, the shadow and the cognitive functions. Besides those concepts and mechanisms, the thesis aims to explore the way which Jung ascribes to deal with those shadow projections - in favor of improving the interpersonal relationships. This deed lays mainly in the so-called individuation, with main focus on the shadow integration. The aim of the second part of this thesis is to reflect upon the C. G. Jung's psychology from the theological ethics point of view. The thesis is defining the criteria of goodness of the interpersonal relationship from the theological ethics standpoint. Then further uses those criteria to clarify the conditions under which could be maintained the dialogue and cooperation between theology and psychology and thus, under which conditions is theologically acceptable to utilize C. G. Jung's findings.

Enneagrams used in personality typological studies are only one of numerous types of diagrams that model actual and potential interrelationships based on 9 factors, para-meters, or variables (=FPVs). However, the psychological-sociological discipline--like any field of investigation (whether non-scientific or scientific)--has to deal with so many FPVs that the over-simplistic enneagrams and similar conceptual figures do not reveal all possible interconnections. When all known FPVs are integrated, many hundreds of additional complexities become obvious. Several linkage or concatenation diagrams useful in handling more than just 9 (=ennea-), or multiple of 9, FPVs are offered here; psychosocial “systems” are as complex as any of the earth science-based complexes, like the world-wide ecological systems (e.g., Gaia-type) which are controlled by “innumerable” FPVs. Investigations should go far beyond the simplistic enneagrams. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A three tier evaluation procedure for chronic Post-traumatic Stress Disorder victims from Vietnam was presented. This evaluation attempts to disaggregate clinical data on a chronic population for purposes of treatment. One hundred veterans with PTSD took personality inventories (MCMI and MMPI), were included in a life style analysis procedure (including early recollections and irrational beliefs), and were evaluated on symptoms. Tier 1 consisted of a life style analysis. This procedure was described and selected data on early recollections and irrational beliefs were presented. Results reflected negative or trauma themes and an excessive amount of irrational beliefs. Tier 2 involved the use of the MCMI. A typology was developed based on a traumatic personality (Passive Aggressive and Avoidant) and three variants. Tier 3 involved symptoms, psychosocial and trauma. Results showed multiple psychosocial symptoms and emphasized the need to contextualize these within the personality (and life style). Also, traumatic memories were collected and four questions were developed to ‘address’ these in therapy. A case history was presented on the use of this evaluation method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The results of this research in the observed class evaluate higher level of cooperative and communication skills of individual pupils than those, who previously did not deal with cooperation. Teaching pupils how to cooperate gradually developed their relationship not only to younger classmates, but to the willingness to help each other, to respect the opinions of others and it also strengthened the relationships in the observed classroom. The enneagram typology describes nine personality types and their mutual relations. It is a theoretical construct whose psychological validity is still being scientifically verified. The focus of this work is to develop a reliable and valid psychometric tool for recognizing the enneagram type and thereby verify the validity of this typology. The theoretical section describes the enneagram system on the basis of available literature and reviews research that set it in the psychological context. The empirical section deals with the development of the test to determine the ennea-type, with verification of its psychometric characteristics and criterion validity, and at the same time it examines the construct validity of enneagram typology. The criterion to review the validity is The Essential Enneagram Test by David Daniels, type identification by interview and self-identification. A quantitative data analysis was conducted on the sample of 300 persons of both, men and women of all ages using various kinds of statistical methods. The findings indicate that the tool developed to identify the ennea-type is reliable, of good psychometric quality and satisfactory criterion validity. Furthermore, the research supported the existence of nine enneagram types as per the theoretical construct, yet did not...

The ultimate objective of the present PhD thesis is to propose effective instructional methods to be employed in teaching macroeconomics as an academic subject, their selection being determined by the personality type recognition of the students of economics-based academic programmes. First, a current state of academic education and an increase in the number of university/college students, schools and faculties are analysed. Within the sector of higher education institutions (HEI) providing academic training in economic sciences, the focus is on the rationale of the inclusion of macroeconomics in their syllabi. Having conducted the quantitative research, the MBTI questionnaire being employed to measure personality types, the composition of academic study groups in the chosen economics-based schools was examined from the viewpoint of the given typology. An analysis of currently applied forms and methods of instruction in macroeconomics at the Private University College of Economic Studies (PUCES) is accompanied by the interpretation of their impact on the academic achievements of particular personality types. Based on the research findings, appropriate teaching methods are matched with respective personality types and subsequently with the entire study group comprising different types of personalities. The present dissertation thesis consists of an introduction, seven chapters and a conclusion. The introduction presents the aim of the thesis, an overview of the current state of relevant research on the topic as well as research hypotheses and methodology. Chapter 1 explores the current state of HEI programmes affected by soaring numbers of students, HEIs and their faculties. Chapter 2 focuses on macroeconomics as a scientific discipline and an academic subject incorporated in the syllabuses of the selected HEIs. Chapter 3 concentrates on academic teaching, outlining the philosophies, modes and methods of academic instruction. In chapter 4, personality typologies are exposed, focusing selectively on their development, emphasising those with significant social influence. The MBTI personality typology is given special attention, corresponding basic personality dimensions, dispositions and study successfulness being considered. Chapter 5 describes the results of the research of the student groups' structure according to MBTI typology in five chosen HEIs, summarizing the outcomes from the schools being tested. In chapter 6, macroeconomics examination results achieved by PUCES students are displayed, being related to respective personality categories in compliance with the above typology. In the last chapter, optimal methods and instructional approaches are suggested for teaching particular personality types of students, the heterogeneous composition of the study groups being taken into consideration.
