Cabinet shuffles in multiparty democracies do not equally affect all posts as they are caused by changes in the composition of government coalitions and by shifting political conditions. With data from the 340 individual cabinet appointments in Chile's presidential system in seven presidential terms (1990–2022), we find that the type of cabinet position and prior experience as cabinet ministers impact the length of service, but party members do not last longer than independents and neither do ministers with technocratic credentials. Ministers in low‐prestige positions are less likely to being sacked. As cabinet stability is associated with the delivery of public policies, studying the determinants of longer cabinet positions helps identify factors that contribute to governability and good governance. MULTIPLE regression analysis , *PERSONALITY , *COLLEGE students , *RESEARCH personnel , *INTERPERSONAL relations - Abstract
This study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between personal traits and decision-making styles on a sample selected by a stratified random method, where the sample size was (233) male and female students from three Yemeni universities. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was used that included (34) items for two scales: the personality traits scale, consisting of (10) items, and the decision-making styles scale, consisting of (24) items. This study also relied on the correlative descriptive analytical approach. The multiple linear regression analysis showed a statistically significant relationship between personality traits and decision-making styles. The study also indicated that female students depend more on intuitive, dependent, and spontaneous decision- making styles. They have more agreeable and neurotic traits than males. In light of the study's results, the researcher recommended paying attention to the personal traits of university students because they are important in understanding decision-making styles that can contribute to the quality of students' decisions. This paper addresses the influence of personal traits on the leadership outcomes of change by principals in primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary levels in Vietnamese schools. The research employed a survey questionnaire method to collect data, which was processed using SPSS software version 22. The design of the practical study was carried out based on the literature review and theoretical research. The paper did not use the original research ideas of previous authors but made certain adjustments to align with the research objectives and context. Linear regression analysis was utilized, with six categories of personal traits as independent variables consisting of thirteen specific traits, and two dependent variables representing leadership outcomes, including teacher leadership outcomes and general leadership outcomes. The analysis results revealed that teacher leadership outcomes are negatively influenced by arrogance, dominance, authoritarian thinking, emotionality, and balanced thinking, and they are positively influenced by proactivity, adaptability and discipline, perfectionism, curiosity, and eagerness to learn. The initial study results provide a foundation for applying the role of school leaders' personal traits in management, leadership, evaluation policies, and personnel appointments in schools today. The purpose of this paper is to study the factors influencing university students' entrepreneurial intentions. By organizing the concept of entrepreneurial intentions and reviewing the literature, it is found that the factors influencing university students' entrepreneurial intentions can be divided into external and internal factors. External factors include the economic environment, institutional environment, and social perception. Economic environment factors comprise the success rate of entrepreneurship, economic conditions, employment stability, etc. Institutional environment factors include entrepreneurial support systems provided by the government or public agencies, and social welfare systems. Additionally, social perception factors refer to the societal support for entrepreneurship. Personal traits factors encompass concerns about entrepreneurial failure, entrepreneurial spirit, autonomy, self-efficacy, need for achievement, and social networks. This paper explores the impact of these factors on university students' entrepreneurial intentions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: If nurses have acceptable mental health in the workplace, they will be better able to provide specialized services to patients. This study aimed to provide a model of the relationship between personality traits and feelings of loneliness and the mediating role of nurses' preoccupation with body image. Methods: According to the data collection method used, the present study was part of a correlation descriptive study performed with path analysis. The statistical population consisted of all nurses at Ibn Sina Hospital (235 nurses), Omid Hospital (280 nurses), and Erfan Hospital (320 nurses) in Tehran, Iran, in 2022. Using convenience sampling, 300 d' nurses were selected as the study participants. The data collection tools were the UCLA Loneliness Scale (ULS), NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI), and Body Image Concern Inventory (BICI). Data analysis was performed using SPSS software and Smart PLS. Results: The results confirmed that all variables (neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness, and conscientiousness), with the mediation role of body image concern, were associated with loneliness except openness (P < 0.05). The study found no evidence to support the idea that body image problems have a mediating role in the association of extraversion, openness to experience, and agreeableness with loneliness (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Knowing the health-related components of nurses can help researchers and managers in mental health to design and apply accurate and effective psychosocial interventions.

Background. The present article addresses the criteria for choosing a profession and work among modern adolescents and young adults in the changing and transient world. It sets the ideals of professions that illusorily seem to be accessible, easy, well-paid, and interesting at the same time. Objective. The present study aims at identifying subjective criteria of the preference for occupation and work in senior adolescents and young adults and their relationship with personality traits, values, user activity, and subjective well-being. Study Participants. 172 subjects, 54 students of 8–11 grades at the age from 13 to 16 and 118 students of Moscow universities at the age from 17 to 23, including 103 males (59.9%) and 69 females (40.1%). Methods. The respondents fill in the scale of subjective criteria for job preference, the Ten Item Personality Measure, the Portrait Values Questionnaire and techniques for assessing subjective well-being and user activity. The answer the questions about the possibility and intention to combine several criteria of career and job choice. Results. The scale of the subjective criteria for job preference is a reliable, factor- and content-valid screening instrument assessing the importance of payment, interest, convenience, prospect, usefulness to others, ease, difficulty, and image in the work. In choosing a profession and job, both high school and college students focus on a wide range of criteria. Conscientiousness is associated with the preference for a well-paid, promising, and challenging work; openness to new experience is associated with the preference for interesting work. Orientation to the values of conformity and tradition is associated with the readiness to choose between different criteria, while the orientation to the values of achievement and power is associated with a wider range of subjective criteria, which the future job should correspond to. A higher level of positive emotions is associated with the preference for many criteria of job selection at the same time. A greater user activity is connected to the desire for easy work. Conclusions. In contemporary adolescents and young adults, a greater subjective well-being and the values of achievement and power are paradoxically associated with an unrealistically wide range of criteria of choosing a profession and job that are simultaneously important to them. This may further lead to some difficulties in searching for the job and disappointments in it.

The prevalence of smartphones and social networking sites (SNSs) has given rise to the popularity of selfie posting, presenting one's own photograph on SNSs. While previous studies have mainly investigated the effects of personal characteristics (e.g. demographics, personality traits and motivational needs) on selfie posting, the impacts exerted by individuals' social networks have been largely neglected. Drawing on the Actor-Network Theory, this study explores besides personal traits (i.e. personalities and demographics), how relational characteristics of one's ego networks (i.e. gender heterogeneity, age homophily, average tie strength, and network density) and SNSs affordances (i.e. connectivity and interactivity) affect selfie posting behavior. Based on a survey sample in which the respondents' ego network data were collected, individuals' ego-network metrics were calculated and analyzed. Our analyses show that those whose ego network having a higher proportion of opposite sex (measured by gender heterogeneity) or/and having alters more connected with one another (measured by network density) are more likely to post selfie on SNSs, while those embedded in a strong-tie network (measured by average tie strength) are less likely to post selfie on SNSs. The findings suggest that characteristics of one's ego network exert important influences on selfie posting on SNSs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this research is to analyze how personality traits and psychological profiles influence the detection of entrepreneurial opportunities by, and the intentions of, university-going women in the northwest region of Mexico. It also examines how business opportunities are decisive when it comes to awakening entrepreneurial intention. The moderating and mediating effects of the detection of business opportunities and the psychological profile are also examined with respect to the direct relationship between personal traits and entrepreneurial intentions. For this study, information was collected from 1197 students attending the Autonomous University of Baja California and the Technological Institute of Sonora through a digital survey (Google Forms) distributed via email during the second half of 2022. The PLS-SEM statistical technique was used to test the hypotheses of the proposed theoretical model. The results revealed that personality traits have positive and significant effects on the psychological profile and on business opportunities. However, it was clearly observed that one's personal traits and psychological profile have little or no influence on entrepreneurial intentions. We also found that the psychological profile is the construct that most influences business opportunities. In addition, it was also highlighted that business opportunities contribute to awakening the entrepreneurial intentions of university-going women. On the other hand, it was revealed that business opportunities have a negative moderating effect on the relationship between the psychological profile and entrepreneurial intentions. Likewise, this study has shown that the detection of business opportunities and the psychological profile have indirect effects on the relationship between the personal traits and the entrepreneurial intentions of university-going women. This research contributes to the development and strengthening of trait theory, the theory of reasoned action, and the theory of planned behavior. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For common psychological problems among college students, the current mental health assessment methods are analyzed, and the least squares method of curve fitting is chosen for this paper. Based on the interrelationship between personality traits and mental health and the correlation between perceived campus climate and mental health inequalities, factors affecting the mental health status of college students were identified. The OLS and 2SLS algorithms, as well as the stepwise addition of control variables, were used for empirical testing, and a binary regression analysis model was established for individual UPI score values and mean UPI score values, and the results showed a peer effect coefficient of 0.654, which verified the existence of a significant positive peer effect of campus environment on college student’s mental health level.

Teachers' personal traits and emotional skills impact the quality of the teaching they deliver. Therefore, this study analyzes the relationship between pre-service teachers' general mental ability, personal traits, and perceived emotional intelligence, so as to present a structural model of general mental ability. It uses a sample of 196 final-year teaching students at a university in Spain (80.1% women, M years = 22.96). The results of the structural equation model analysis reveal that personal traits and intelligence variables contribute the most to explaining the pre-service teachers' level of training. Regarding the pre-service teachers' academic achievement, conscientiousness and intelligence are direct predictors; negative neuroticism and conscientiousness are indirect predictors. The findings highlight the importance of working on these variables in the study of teacher training because they relate to relevant aspects of teachers' work and can help to achieve a quality educational environment. 19. Who Benefits More from Physical Exercise? On the Relations between Personality, Physical Exercise, and Well-Being.

- Abstract
Although employers believe that encouraging and supporting physical exercise activities by purchasing fitness equipment and building sports venues can improve employees' well-being, the utilization rate is rather low. Since most of the evidence of the well-being promotion in the workplace concentrated on the perspectives of organizational factors and psychosocial factors and focused on the reduction of the negative affect of well-being, it is still an open question whether physical exercise has benefits on both negative and positive affect of well-being and who benefits more from physical exercise. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of physical exercise on occupational well-being (job burnout and work engagement) and examine whether effectiveness depends on personality traits. Online questionnaires were distributed. The sample included 671 participants from different enterprises in China. Results showed that the effectiveness of physical exercise was also applicable to well-being in the workplace. Physical exercise was negatively correlated with job burnout and positively correlated with work engagement. The effectiveness was different among employees with different personality traits. Contrary to our expectation, individuals with neuroticism were more likely to improve their work engagement through physical exercise. Extroversion and conscientiousness weakened the benefits of physical exercise. Therefore, differences of effectiveness among different personality traits emphasize the need for a more personalized strategy in physical exercise interventions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

21. The Mediating Role of Irrational Beliefs in the Relationship between Anger and Sociotropic Personality Traits in Nursing Students.

- Abstract
Studies have shown that irrational beliefs are important psychological structures that directly relate with anger and personality traits. However, the joint effect of irrational beliefs on the two variables is not clear. This study aimed to investigate the effect of anger and personality traits on irrational beliefs in nursing students. The research was carried out with 321 nursing students studying at two different universities in Turkiye. The nursing students completed the Trait Anger and Anger Expression Style Scale (TAAESS), Sociotropy/Autonomy Scale (SAS), and the Rational Emotional Self-Determination Scale (RESDS). Data were analyzed by structural equation modeling using the AMOS 20.0 software. As a result of the structural equation model, we found that the sociotropic personality trait affects irrational thought and irrational thought affects anger, but the sociotropic personality trait did not affect anger. The direct effect of the sociotropic personality trait on anger was 0.05, while its indirect effect was 0.26. The findings suggest that sociotropic personality traits such as seeking approval from others and valuing interpersonal relationships can lead to the formation of irrational beliefs. Preventing irrational beliefs in university nursing students is essential for ensuring anger control in young people and developing interpersonal relationships. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study delves into the impact of personal traits on rural female entrepreneurship within family-owned enterprises. We investigate how rural female entrepreneurs strategically navigate their businesses, taking into account market conditions, technical aspects, financial considerations, operational challenges, organizational dynamics, and innovation factors. Employing a mixed-method approach, we collected quantitative data from 183 formal and informal rural female entrepreneurs using a semi-structured questionnaire available in both English and Arabic, utilizing snowball sampling. Through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), we identified strategic objectives, and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) assessed the alignment of the proposed approach with the data sample. Additionally, we present six brief case studies based on interviews with female entrepreneurs to gain insights into how personal traits influence strategic entrepreneurial behaviour. Our findings highlight the significant influence of age and education on the strategic goals, motivation, and decision-making of rural female entrepreneurs. This research has broader implications for policymakers and stakeholders, offering insights into encouraging inclusive and sustainable female entrepreneurship in diverse rural contexts. By recognizing the relationship of personal attributes and institutional forces, this study contributes to our understanding of entrepreneurship in a dynamic and culturally rich environment, ultimately contributing to socioeconomic development in Oman and beyond. This article aims to identify the factors that influence the academic performance of undergraduate students, focusing on digital literacy, digital knowledge and skills, as well as personal characteristics in the digital economy. To identify these relationships, surveys were conducted among students using appropriate online questionnaires, and the Big Five Personality Traits (BFPT) testing methodology was chosen to assess the personal qualities of undergraduate students. The findings of the study are consistent with the research in the field indicating a correlation between digital skills and student academic success and simultaneously the inverse impact of social media on academic performance. In addition, the study showed that there is also a positive relationship between some personal traits as conscientiousness, agreeableness and academic performance outcomes. Research illustrates the significant role of gender in academic achievement, explaining how differences in male and female personality traits can influence academic performance and adaptability. The results confirm that academic success and, thus, the ability to adapt to the changing conditions can be explained by personal traits and digital technologies used while the other possible factors can include gender, professional and cultural background.

Automated personality trait detection from text data has emerged and gained a great deal of attention in the subject area of affective computing and sentiment analysis. Most previous work has focused on features engineering such as linguistic styles and psycholinguistic databases which have correlations with personality. Recently, natural language processing has been affected significantly with transfer learning based on feature extraction and fine-tuning pre-trained language models. We propose a new deep learning-based model for personality prediction and classification using both data and classifier level fusion. The model gets benefit from, transfer learning in natural language processing through leading pre-trained language models namely Elmo, ULMFiT, and BERT. The proposed model demonstrates the powerfulness of the introduced method to be a promising personality prediction model. When evaluating the proposed method, results show a competitive and significant accuracy enhancement of about 1.25% and 3.12% in comparison to the most recent results for the two gold standard Essays and myPersonality datasets for personality detection.

Interindividual variation in the composition of the human gut microbiome was examined in relation to demographic and anthropometric traits, and to changes in dietary saturated fat intake and protein source. One hundred nine healthy men and women aged 21 to 65, with BMIs of 18 to 36, were randomized, after a two-week baseline diet, to high (15% total energy [E])- or low (7%E)-saturated-fat groups and randomly received three diets (four weeks each) in which the protein source (25%E) was mainly red meat (beef, pork) (12%E), white meat (chicken, turkey) (12%E), and nonmeat sources (nuts, beans, soy) (16%E). Taxonomic characterization using 16S ribosomal DNA was performed on fecal samples collected at each diet completion. Interindividual differences in age, body fat (%), height, ethnicity, sex, and alpha diversity (Shannon) were all significant factors, and most samples clustered by participant in the PCoA ordination. The dietary interventions did not significantly alter the overall microbiome community in ordination space, but there was an effect on taxon abundance levels. Saturated fat had a greater effect than protein source on taxon differential abundance, but protein source had a significant effect once the fat influence was removed. Higher alpha diversity predicted lower beta diversity between the experimental and baseline diets, indicating greater resistance to change in people with higher microbiome diversity. Our results suggest that interindividual differences outweighed the influence of these specific dietary changes on the microbiome and that moderate changes in saturated fat level and protein source correspond to modest changes in the microbiome.IMPORTANCE The microbiome has proven to influence health and disease, but how combinations of external factors affect the microbiome is relatively unknown. Diet can cause changes, but this is usually achieved by altering macronutrient ratios and has not focused on dietary protein source or saturated fat intake levels. In addition, each individual's unique microbiome profile can be an important factor during studies, and it has even been shown to affect therapeutic outcomes. We show here that the effects of individual differences outweighed the effect of experimental diets and that protein source is less influential than saturated fat level. This suggests that fat and protein composition, separate from macronutrient ratio and carbohydrate composition, is an important consideration in dietary studies.

An increasing number of companies select strategic customers, who are then treated differently from standard customers. Thus, the customer-facing function has been divided into two separate functions: traditional selling and strategic account management. This article seeks to provide a comprehensive overview that compares the competencies of salespeople with the competencies of strategic account managers. The article's objective is to highlight a competency path that can lead salespeople to transition successfully into strategic account managers. Leveraging the two distinct competency classifications, we identify the key skills that traditional salespeople must be trained in or "unlearn" to successfully transition. From a theoretical perspective, this article bridges the gap between the literature on sales and the literature on strategic account management and pinpoints the major differences between those two customer-facing dimensions. From a managerial perspective, the article helps practitioners draw a competency grid to assess both salespeople's ability to succeed in their role transition and the training required to support this transition. Technological advancements have created a plethora of opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop and extend their business operations. Hence, internet has promoted to the emergence of digital entrepreneurship as a growing form of entrepreneurship among many entrepreneurs, especially digital natives. This research examines to what extent personal traits of digital natives' impact on their digital entrepreneurship intention. The research examined the direct impact of the big five personal traits, i.e., openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism, on digital entrepreneurship intention and the indirect impact through personal attitude. For this purpose, a pre-examined questionnaire was directed to senior students in computer sciences and information technology colleges at public universities in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The results of structural equation modeling using SmartPLS (version 4) confirmed a direct positive and significant impact of the big five personal traits on personal attitude. However, the results revealed that the impact of the big five personal traits (except agreeableness) on digital entrepreneurship intention were positive but insignificant. Additionally, a mediating effect was confirmed for personal attitude in the link between personal traits and digital entrepreneurship intention among senior students in KSA higher education. The results contributed to the research gap in relation to personal traits and its impact on personal attitude and ultimatly on digital entrepreneurship intention, especially among digital natives. Several impactions were merged and discussed for scholars, policy makers and educators in higher education institutions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The most important line of the research is the relationship of implicit and explicit attitudes towards domestic and foreign food brands with personality traits. Although researchers confirm the relevance of these studies, there are relatively few empirical findings on the relationship of "Big Five" personality traits with consumer attitudes. Research aim: to study the relationship of implicit and explicit attitudes towards brands of domestic and foreign food products with the personality traits of consumers. Participants N = 131, aged 17-57 (Mdn = 31). Measurements: developed by the authors affective and cognitive Implicit Association Tests (IATs), Self-Concept IAT, affective and cognitive explicit procedures; and "Big Five" Inventory -- 2 (BFI-2); demographic questionnaires. With the help of factor analysis, independent overall implicit and "overall" explicit attitudes towards food brands were built, the main components of which are both their affective and cognitive foundations, and attitudes measured using the Self-Concept IAT. Relationships between "overall" attitudes, their components with BFI-2 scales and their facets have been revealed. Personality traits and their combinations with facets have been revealed that influence implicit, explicit preferences for domestic, foreign food brands and "uncertain" (ambivalent or unexpressed) preferences. Differences in the role of personality traits in the choice of cognitive and affective bases of both implicit and explicit attitudes have been found, which sometimes lead to opposite results. India is taking huge leaps towards digitalisation. The banking industry is at the forefront of this race. Many products like Unified Payments Interface (UPI) have been introduced to give impetus to digital payments. The aim of the study is to explore the actual usage of UPI payments in the Indian market, based on differences in personal traits of the consumers. The data was collected using a web-based questionnaire, from 253 respondents. Personal traits like age, gender, current place of residence, and occupation have been used as the input variables to study the actual usage of UPI payments. The results show that as the age of the respondents increased, there was a decrease in the actual usage of UPI. UPI payments are popular among students, but are less used by government employees, retired people, and housewives. UPI downtime and transaction security negatively impact usage of UPI payments. - Abstract
This study's objective is to examine the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and internal locus of control on the entrepreneurial intention of small Saudi entrepreneurs during adverse times, with entrepreneurial resilience as a moderator. The study, which targeted a sample of 207 small entrepreneurs working in various sectors in Saudi Arabia, gathered data through an online questionnaire sent to respondents and analysed the results using PLS-SEM. The study revealed intriguing findings, such as the existence of a positive significant relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy, internal locus of control and entrepreneurial intention amongst small Saudi entrepreneurs. It also demonstrated that in times of adversity, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic and other environmental challenges, entrepreneurial resilience can act as a moderator between entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Entrepreneurial resilience, in particular, has the potential to strengthen the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. Accordingly, the government, along with other sectors and stakeholders in Saudi Arabia, should continue to support the psychological characteristics of small Saudi entrepreneurs, notably their internal locus of control, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial resilience to ensure greater sustainability and the continuity of their small businesses. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first sociolinguistic matched-guise experiment that examined Chinese students’ attitudes toward African American English in both its standard and vernacular variants. This pilot study explored Chinese students’ implicit bias —if any— toward African American English compared to white American English. For this purpose, seventy-two undergraduate Chinese students pursuing their studies in the US rated standard and vernacular English recordings of a White American female speaker and an African American female speaker. To optimize the validity of this experiment, two non-guises were included as distractors. The findings suggest that the participants held a more positive attitude toward White American English. Interestingly, female respondents rated the African American guise slightly higher than their male counterparts. Finally, when the African American speaker’s teaching-related traits were rated, participants favored the standard over the vernacular recording. In sum: the findings suggest that respondents might have an existing/emerging implicit bias toward the African American speaker.
