In Mexico, there are six scientific collections of polychaetous annelids. The "Colección Poliquetológica" from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León houses one of the three most important collections of annelids in the country, based on a number of lots and number of type materials deposited, as well as geographical coverage.A catalogue of type materials of polychaete annelids housed at the “Colección Poliquetológica” from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (México) is presented for the first time. The Collection contains 37 holotypes, 174 paratypes and one syntype. These type materials are grouped in 15 families, 35 genera and 54 species of marine worms. Types were described mostly from the Mexican waters, with a low number of types from Ecuador, El Salvador, Argentina, USA, Philippines, New Caledonia and Japan.

Corydalis austroshaanxiensis, a new species of Corydalis sect. Incisae Fedde (Papaveraceae) from Shaanxi, China, is described. It is most similar to C. pseudoincisa C.Y. Wu, Z.Y. Su & Lidén, but differs in the outer petals being retuse to emarginate, with dorsal crest (versus acuminate, rounded to shortly mucronate, without crest), lowermost pedicels that are conspicuously elongating and basally recurved in fruit (versus slightly elongating, straight, erect‐spreading), sepals that are 3–4 × ca 3 mm (versus 1.5–2.0 × ca 1.5 mm), lower petals that usually have a linear reddish tint at base (versus without reddish tint), capsules that are narrowly to broadly elliptic to obovoid (versus linear to narrowly oblong), and by the racemes corymbose, forming a very dense cluster of upper fruits (versus racemes not corymbose‐like, flower dense in anthesis, lax in fruit). The original materials of C. pseudoincisa is shown to be mosaic, and the original descriptions and illustrations annotated as C. pseudoincisa only fit in part C. pseudoincisa. A revised circumscription for C. pseudoincisa is thus provided. We suggest the need for caution when identifying additional specimens as paratypes that differ from the holotype in distinct characters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Becker, V.L. Beschovski, E.P. Nartshuk, A.L. Ozerov, A.I. Shatalkin, and Á. Soós, deposited in the collection of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg, is presented. The lectotype of Calobata nigrolamellata Becker, 1907 is designated. Background In a recent paper, we described a new sponge species named Hemimycale mediterranea Uriz, Garate & Agell, 2017. However, we failed to designate a holotype and a type locality, as required by the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN). Although the validity of the previous conclusions remains unchanged, the species name cannot be considered available according to ICZN regulations until a holotype is designated. Results The present work fulfills the requirements of the ICZN by designating a holotype, three paratypes and the type locality for the new species Hemimycale mediterranea and has been registered in ZooBank.

During preparation of ‘Capbryinae & Entomobryini’ (Jordana 2012) for the series Synopses on Palaearctic Collembola (Volume 7, Part 1), many specimens were studied from museums within and outside the study area. Even so some important collections could either not be found or borrowed at the time. One was the Baijal’s collection, which was rediscovered in the Zoological Survey of India. In the present paper we present the results of our examination of paratypes of the four species of Entomobryadescribed by this author from the Indian Himalayan region. The original descriptions of these species were limited but adequate for that time, and the age of the specimens did not allow observation of all the details necessary for a complete description as currently required, including macrochaetotaxy. Here descriptions of these species are given in more detail , especially regarding the distribution of the macrochaetotaxy, currently considered necessary for the identification of species. The species studied are: Entomobrya kultinalensis Baijal, 1958, Entomobrya longisticta Baijal, 1958, Entomobrya nigrita Baijal, 1958 and Entomobrya rohtangensis Baijal, 1958.

The present report presents the paratype specimens encountered during the preliminary inventory of "Dr. Igor Ceianu" Diptera Scientific Collection. Fourteen paratypes, belonging to the families Drosophilidae and Tephritidae were registered in the "Grigore Antipa" National Museum of Natural History scientific collection and inventory numbers were assigned. Five Drosophilidae specimens were not encountered in any scientific publication excepting the original description; these have been registered within this collection with the inventory numbers 181564-181568. The Museum of Geology of the University of Oviedo houses a relavant collection of fossils, most of them coming from rocks of different ages exposed in the Cantabrian Mountains. This paper deals with the type material (holotype and paratypes) of 55 species of carboniferous brachiopods deposited in this Museum. Seven of these species are the type species of seven different genera, and, in turn, one of these genera is the type genus of a subfamily, Riosanetinae. The status, age, synonymy, geographical localities and stratigraphical age of this material are given, and the holotype of each species is figured. Finally, in some cases short remarks about the taxa are added.
