Ornithofauna research in the area of the Danube–Sava canal between the villages of Beravci and Gundinci was conducted from March 2020 to June 2021. Ornithofauna was explored along the canal and on the canal, and in the surrounding agricultural areas and forest fragments covering approximately 6 km2. A total of 134 bird species were recorded in the vicinity of the Danube–Sava canal, out of which 29 are included in the Red List of Birds of Croatia. 66 bird species bred on the research area. 15 species did not breed there, but used the area as a foraging area in the breeding season. 45 species were recorded as migratory birds, whilst 70 species were recorded as wintering birds. Given that this is the first study of the ornithofauna of this area, and that great diversity of the recorded species is present there, it is necessary to maintain the continuity of research in the future, with the aim of spreading knowledge and obtaining new data on the species of this area., Ornitofauna na području kanala Dunav – Sava u Beravcima istraživana je u razdoblju od ožujka 2020. do kraja lipnja 2021. godine, ukupno 15 mjeseci, čime su obuhvaćena razdoblja selidbe, gniježđenja i zimovanja ptica. Istraživanje je provedeno na području kanala i uz kanal te okolnim poljoprivrednim i šumskim fragmentima približne površine oko 6 km2. Tijekom svakog obilaska provedeno je apsolutno prebrojavanje ptica na temelju vizualnih i zvučnih opažanja. Za svaku vrstu određen je IUCN status prema Crvenom popisu ptica Hrvatske, prisutnost na istraživanom području za svaki mjesec istraživanja te status populacije (gnijezdarica, preletnica, zimovalica). Istraživanjem je utvrđeno ukupno 134 vrste ptica od kojih se 29 vrsta nalazi na Crvenom popisu ptica Hrvatske. Za 66 vrste ptica određen je status gnjezdarica kanala, 15 vrsta se ne gnijezdi na kanalu ali ga koristi kao mjesto hranjenja u gnijezdećoj sezoni. 45 vrsta određene su kao preletnice, a 70 vrsta ptica kao zimovalice. Postojanost više tipova fragmentiranog staništa na relativno malom prostoru, poput vodene površine obrasle trskom, strmih zemljanih obala i nasipa uz kanal, mozaičkih šumskih i poljoprivrednih površina, znatno utječe na izvor hrane i izbor staništa za gniježđenje a samim time i na veliku raznolikost zabilježenih vrsta ptica. S obzirom da je ovo prvo istraživanje ornitofaune ovog područja i veliku raznolikost zabilježenih vrsta potrebno je provoditi ciljana istraživanja i monitoringe ptica kako bi se dobili bolji i precizniji podatci o njihovoj brojnosti i gustoći populacija te po potrebi uspostavile određene mjere zaštite.

Wetlands are an important and endangered habitat in Europe, making fishponds valuable areas for biodiversity, especially for birds. Crna Mlaka fishponds are protected as an ornithological reserve and Ramsar site, but there are also two other carp-producing fishponds in the same Special Protection Area Pokupski bazen (Draganić and Pisarovina), which are not as recognized. As part of a national monitoring project, these three fishponds were monitored almost every month during a one-year period. This research aims to show the yearly dynamic of birds at these sites (wintering, breeding, and migrating populations) but also to define through comparison which features of habitats, management practices or recorded threats and pressures impact species diversity and population sizes. We recorded 92 species in total, with over 13000 individuals in one month. While all fishponds showed high biodiversity and many interesting records, Draganić stands out as having the highest number of individual birds per month in most months. Reasons for this may relate to differences in water level management, causing high quality habitat types such as bare mud to be available during key periods. We can conclude that Draganić is as relevant for birds as the more protected Crna Mlaka and should be considered for further protection. This research also consolidates that fishponds are essential for many bird species year-round and the co-existence of birds and humans should be nurtured in these areas.

Bu araştırmanın amacı Koçköprü Barajı’nda görülen kuş türlerinin varlığını ortaya koymaktır. 2018 Mart ve 2019 Haziran ayları arasında yapılan saha çalışmaları neticesinde 18 takımdan 43 familya içerisinde yer alan 141 kuş türü belirlenmiştir. IUCN ölçütlerine göre bölgede yaşadığı tespit edilen kuş türlerinin statüleri; 1 tür tehlike altında (Endangered), 3 tür yakında nesli tehlikeye girebilecek (Near Threatened), 2 tür hassas (Vulnerable), 133 tür düşük riskli (Least Concern) ve 2 tür ise kapsama dahil edilmemiştir. BERN sözleşmesine göre 95 tür Ek liste II içinde, 38 tür Ek liste III içinde ve 8 tür ise kapsam dışıdır. Biyolojik materyallerin uluslararası ticaret kurallarını belirleyen CITES’e göre belirlenen türlerin 16’sı Ek liste II içinde yer alırken, geriye kalan 125 tür listede yer almamaktadır. Koçköprü Barajı’nda görülen kuş türlerinin alan kullanım durumlarına bakıldığında ise: 7 türün Kış Ziyaretçisi, 28 türün Transit göçer, 42 türün Yerli ve 64 türün ise Yaz Ziyaretçisi olduğu görüldü. Yerli ve Yaz Ziyaretçi türlerinden 94’ü Koçköprü Barajı ve etrafında üreyebilmektedir. Bunlar incelenen türlerin %66’sını kapsamaktadır. Bu sonuç Koçköprü Baraj Gölü ve çevresinin kuş türlerinin üremesi bakımından önemini ortaya koymaktadır., The aim of this investigation was to research existance of bird species in the Koçköprü Dam. A total of 141 species of birds, belonging to 43 families and 18 orders, were identified between March 2018 and June 2019. According to the IUCN standards, the following was the conservation status of the identified bird species: Only one Endangered, three Near Threatened, two Vulnerable, 133 Least Concern and two species are not included in the scope. According to the BERN contract, 95 species were classified in Appendix II and 38 in Appendix III, while eight species were excluded. According to CITES, which governs the laws regulating the trade in biological materials, 16 of the identified species were included in Appendix II, while the rest 125 were not listed. Considering the field usege cases, there were 7 species of Winter Visitors, 28 species of Passage Migrants, 42 species of Resident, and 64 species of Migrants. 94 of resident and migrant species are reproduce in and around the Koçköprü Dam. These account for 66% of identified species. This result demonstrates the importance of the Koçköprü Dam and the surrounding area for bird species reproduction.

На основании орнитологических учетов сделана попытка оценки видового состава и плотности орнитофауны, не отнесенной к объектам охоты, в основных лесных биотопах Республики Марий Эл, распределения видового состава в зависимости от структуры лесного биотопа, формирующего кормовые, защитные и гнездопригодные условия. Определены видовой состав и плотность населения птиц в таких биотопах, как чистые хвойные, смешанные хвойно-лиственные насаждения разного возраста, околоводные и полевые биотопы. В процентном отношении наибольшую долю от общего числа учтенных видов занимают представители семейства Славковые (Sylvidae), далее идут представители семейства Дроздовые (Turdinae) и Трясогузковые (Motacillidae). Установлено, что видовой состав орнитофауны лесных, околоводных биотопов и прилегающих к ним территорий весьма различен и в основном сосредоточен в опушечной части лесных биотопов, сложных по своей структуре, чаще смешанного состава с наличием подлеска, высокой или средней вертикальной и горизонтальной сомкнутостью и чередующихся с участками открытых пространств (полянами). Одним из определяющих факторов является густота подлеска. В таких условиях отмечены наибольшее видовое разнообразие и высокая плотность орнитофауны. Сравнение индексов биоразнообразия в различных биотопах не показывает четко выраженных тенденций изменения видового разнообразия орнитофауны, однако в пределах более или менее однородных лесных биотопов показатели относительно сравнимы между собой. С увеличением числа видов в биотопах максимальные значения индексов Шеннона и Симпсона увеличиваются. Учтенные виды орнитофауны при установленной их плотности можно уверенно отнести к наиболее типичным и многочисленным для условий лесных районов республики. Единичные представители отдельных семейств, установленные в ходе натурных исследований, целесообразно отнести к редким и малочисленным, следовательно, необходимо определить меры по их сохранению, включая охрану среды их обитания., The paper assesses the species composition and density of nongame ornithological fauna in basic forest biotopes of Mari El Republic. The research is based on ornithological survey data, and analyses the species distribution depending on the structure of forest biotope providing food, protection and nesting. The author determines the species composition and population density of birds in pure coniferous, mixed coniferous-deciduous plantations of different age, wetland and field biotopes. The largest percentage share of the total number of recorded species is represented by the Sylviidae family, followed by representatives of the Turdinae and Motacillidae families. It has been established that the species composition of ornithological fauna in forest and wetland biotopes and adjacent territories is quite diverse and primarily centers at the edge of forest biotopes, characterized by complex structure, mixed composition with coppice, alternating high or medium vertical and horizontal canopy density and open spaces (forest glades). Canopy density is one of the determining factors in this respect. In such conditions the species diversity and ornithological fauna has 64 been recorded with the highest values. The comparison of biodiversity indices in different biotopes does not reveal clear trends of the changes in ornithofauna species diversity, but within more or less homogeneous forest biotopes, the indicators are relatively comparable. With the increase in the number of species in biotopes, the maximum values of Shannon and Simpson indices also demonstrate growth. The registered species of ornithofauna can be confidently attributed to the most typical and numerous species found in the forest areas of the Republic provided their density is known. It is recommended that individual representatives of individual families, encountered in field studies should be referred to as rare and insignificant in number. Therefore, it is necessary to indicate actions for their conservation and protection of their habitat.

In spite of its small area, Palestine (27,000 km2) is home to more than 500 species of ornithofauna, inhabiting all types of terrestrial and aquatic habitats. The Gaza Strip (365 km2), which represents 1.5% of Palestine, has a considerable number of ornithofaunistic species as well. Al-Mawasi ecosystem (14 m2), which lies in the far south-west of the Gaza Strip, has never been orinthologically studied. Thus, the current study comes to survey the ornithofauna prevailing at Al-Mawasi ecosystem as a natural to semi-natural environment. Ornithofauna were monitored using direct observations and binoculars for the lasted ten years (2009-2018). A total number of 135 ornithofaunistic species, belonging to 45 families and 17 orders were encountered at Al-Mawasi ecosystem. Passeriformes was the largest order and comprised 57 (42.2%) of the recorded species, while the non-passerines constituted the remaining 78 species (57.8%). Muscicapidae was the largest among the recorded families; represented by 13 species (9.6%), and followed by 10 species of Scolopacidae, (7.4%), 8 species of Ardeidae and Fringillidae (5.9%) for each and 7 species of Accipitridae (5.0%). Aquatic ornithofaunistic species represented 44 (32.6%) of the total species recorded, while the terrestrial ones represented 91 (67.4%). The Palestine Sunbird (Nectarinia osea) is a common endemic Palestinian species in Al-Mawasi ecosystem. The Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) has become an actual source of financial income for its catchers, and as a result, it is extensively hunted in vast areas of the Gaza Strip. Finally, the study recommends carrying out more research on ornithofauna inhabiting the natural, agricultural and urban environments of the Gaza Strip. The establishment of a specialized center dealing with bird surveys and conservation is very essential in the Gaza Strip, which is an actual hot spot experiencing an escalating environmental degradation. Unidad de excelencia María de Maeztu MdM-2015-0552 The vegetation within the urban system provides sheltering and food provisions to birds, influencing their nesting options. This study analyses for the first time in the Mediterranean area how different socio-ecological factors related with public urban green management can influence the nesting of the passerine bird order. It uses a case study in the city of Valls (Catalonia, Spain). First, the public urban green was quantitatively and qualitatively characterised; then the nests from the passerine birds were collected and identified, and finally, potential associations between nests and urban green-related socio-ecological factors such as vegetation type (tree, shrub, herb, liana), plant species, neighbourhood type, pruning type, fruit and seed production, and presence of insect plague were analysed. A total of 300 nests were identified and belonged, mostly, to the family of Fringillidae and Sylviidae, all from Mediterranean agroforestry areas. Passerine birds show preference for the historic centre, being this area the one with highest biodiversity of vegetation in the city, in detriment of surrounding neighbourhoods, which in turn are less biodiverse. Passerine birds do not consider four tree species (Celtis australis, Laurus nobilis, Robinia pseudoacacia and Pinus pinea) suitable for nesting whereas showing preference for two tree species of medium height and size (Hibiscus syriacus and Melia azederach). Also, passerine birds seem to preferably nest in trees that have been pruned intensively. These results suggest that, to strengthen the passerine bird diversity in cities, urban green management should promote certain species of trees of medium size and intensive pruning while supporting the overall biodiversity of the urban green. All these results contribute to inform effective urban planning and management strategies for passerine birds conservation that aim to reconcile urban development and urban biodiversity protection.

В исследовании приводится список 8 редких для Самарской области видов водноболотных птиц, анализируются экологические условия их современных местообитаний и формулируется прогностический аспект динамики их численности., The study provides a list of 8 rare species of wetland birds for the Samara Oblast, analyzes the environmental conditions of their modern habitats and formulates the prognostic aspect of the dynamics of their population size.

This paper analyses the Bulgarian avifauna. It tracks the development of the idea and creation of the concept for important bird areas (IBAs) as well as their role as a resource for development of Bulgarian ecotourism. A special emphasis is laid upon the fact that Bulgarian territory accounts for only 1.06% of the European continent. At the very same time, 382 bird species have been reported within its boundaries, or 74 % of the bird species, recorded on the continent. In absolute numbers, the total number of birds in Europe comes to 514 species and another 12, not included in the European list. Having in mid that 5.1 % of the world’s bird species can be found on the Old continent, their share in Bulgaria is 3.8 %, which makes Bulgaria, extremely important for bird protection in Europe and on the planet. The conducted analyses reveal that 142 bird species (36%) of the Bulgarian ornithofauna have unfavourable conservation status and 21 of them are world-endangered species. The most important regions featuring highest bird concentration are indicated in this analysis. Attention is paid to the fact that two major migratory routes pass along the country – Via Pontica and Via Aristotelis. Under observation are the Bulgarian important bird areas, representing one of the most significant places for bird protection. The main purpose of these areas represents the establishment of a network at bio geographical scale, critical for the long-term survival of bird populations, regularly met in the country. The final part of the paper examines some of the specific features of ecotourism as well as the opportunity for integration of IBAs as a resource for development of this tourism form.

Damming the middle part of Gruza River, in order to supply drinking and technical water for Kragujevac District caused appearance of Gruzanska accumulation. This lake fills the depression of Knicko Polje between the Gledicke Mts and Kotlenik. As the ornithofauna of accumulation lakes, both in this country and abroad, is poorly studied, this paper presents the data on the state of ornithofauna of Gruzansko Lake. The lake has an important role in migration of both native and foreign bird populations, but also as a wintering area for certain species of ducks and geese, as it is situated on the assumed Morava -Vardar migration route. During the research, 78 bird species were recorded and for 25 species it was proven that they breed in the area. Most species were recorded in the zone of strong anthropogenic influence, which is understandable as before the building of the dam and the artificial lake the Knicko Polje was dominated by agricultural land, mowed meadows and orchards.

In the article the short historical analysis of a level of investigations of the natural reserved fund objects within Kharkiv city and Kharkiv region is carried out. The distribution of bird species in some regional conservation territories of Kharkiv was studied during nesting, migration and wintering periods. The stating of main ecological systems within city objects of the natural reserved fund is discovered: the ecological system of deciduous forest was considered as the most representative in it’s total area. The most species diversity and number of threatened species were found in the Hydrological regional reserve Krukovski. The further improvement of the network of natural reserved fund objects in Kharkiv and detailed working at the regularly monitoring of city ornithocomplexes are proposed., Проведен короткий исторический анализ изучения природно-заповедного фонда (ПЗФ) г. Харькова и Харьковской области. Во время гнездования, миграции и зимовок обследован видовой состав орнитофауны ряда объектов ПЗФ города. Выявлено насколько представлены основные городские природно-территориальные комплексы (ПТК) на охраняемых территориях: наиболее репрезентативным по общей площади является ПТК лиственных лесов. Наибольшее видовое разнообразие, а также кол-во видов птиц, нуждающихся в охране, имеет Гидрологический заказник местного значения «Крюковский». Предлагается дальнейшее усовершенствование сети ПЗФ и осуществление постоянного мониторинга орнитокомплексов., Проведений короткий історичний аналіз вивчення природно-заповідного фонду (ПЗФ) м. Харкова та Харківської області. Під час гніздування, міграції та взимку був обстежений видовий склад ряду об'єктів ПЗФ міста. Виявлено наскільки представлені основні міські природно-територіальні комплекси (ПТК) на охоронюваних територіях: найбільш репрезентативним за загальною площею є ПТК листяних лісів. Найбільша видова різноманітність, а також кількість видів птахів, що потребують охорони, має Гідрологічний заказник місцевого значення «Крюківський». Пропонується подальше удосконалення мережі ПЗФ та здійснення постійного моніторингу орнітокомплексів.

Витебске установлено обитание 132 видов птиц, представленных 16 отрядами, 41 семейством, 102 родами, что составляет 54,3% от числа видов орнитофауны Белорусского Поозерья. Видовое разнообразие птиц городских поселений – одно из самых высоких среди видового богатства для ландшафтов Белорусского Поозерья. При относительной стабильности состояния орнитофауны городские поселения Витебска являются надежными резерватами видового разнообразия птиц для всего региона, включая 15 видов Красной книги Республики Беларусь и 10 видов птиц, имеющих в последние десятилетия отрицательные тренды численности в Европе. =Habitation of 132 species of birds, represented by 16 orders, 41 families, 102 genuses, is established in Vitebsk, it is 54,3% of the number of ornitofauna species of Belarusian Lake District. The species variety of urban birds is one of the highest among the species abundance for the region landscapes. The ornithofauna being relatively stable, Vitebsk urban dwellings are reliable reservants of bird species diversity for the whole region, including 15 Belarusian Red Book species, as well as 10 bird species which have had negative number trends in the last decade in Europe.

Işıklı Gölü, Gökgöl ve yakın çevresinde (Afyonkarahisar-Denizli) gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada, bölgede yaşayan, üreyen ve bölgeyi göç esnasında kullanan kuş türlerinin tespit edilmesi, türlerin mevsimsel populasyon büyüklüklerinin ve alana ilişkin sorunların belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, Ocak 2010- Mayıs 2011 tarihleri arasında göller ve çevresinde belirlenen 12 istasyonda transekt, nokta sayımı ve rastgele gözlem metotları kullanılarak sayımlar ve tür tespitleri yapılmıştır. Tür tespitlerinin belirlenmesinde ölü bireyler ve peletlerden (kusmuk) de yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma alanında, 16 takımdan 52 familyaya ait 217 tür tespit edilmiştir. Bunlardan en az 76 tanesinin bölgede doğal olarak ürediği belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bölge IUCN (Dünya Doğa ve Doğal Kaynakları Koruma Birliği) kriterlerine göre 3 hassas (Vulnerable), 4 tehlikeye yakın (Near Threatened), 1 tehlikede (Endangered) tür barındırmaktadır. Bunlardan Pelecanus crispus, Falco naumanni ve Aquila clanga hassas, Aythya nyroca, Aegypius monachus, Falco vespertinus ve Coracias garrulus tehlikeye yakın, Neophron percnopterus ise tehlikededir. Bölgenin yaz ve kış göçmenleri tarafından yoğun olarak kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Buna ilaveten, araştırma bölgesinde aşırı avlanma ve habitat tahriplerinden dolayı türlerin yaşam alanları giderek daralmakta hatta yok olmakta, bu nedenle biyoçeşitliliğin önemi ve korunması hakkında yöre halkına bilgilendirme çalışmalarının yapılmasının gerekliliği vurgulanmıştır. In the study which is held in Lake Isikli, Lake Gokgol and Their Vicinity (Afyonkarahisar-Denizli), breeding, occupying and passage birds using the area have been tried to be identified. Their seasonal population size and ploblems of the area have been tried to be determined. By this aim, through January 2010- May 2011, with the methods of random monitoring, point counting and transect counting throughout defined 12 stations, species number and individual number have been tried to be identifyed. For the species? evaluations dead individuals, bird sounds and pellets were also benefited. In the research area, 217 species from 52 families and 16 orders have been determined. At least 76 of them are determined to breed in the area. In addition, due to IUCN criterias 3 vulnerable, 5 near threathened and a threathened species have been revealed to be using the area. Pelecanus crispus, Falco naumanni and Aquila clanga are vulnerable, Aythya nyroca, Aegypius monachus, Falco vespertinus and Coracias garrulus are near threatened, Neophron percnopterus is endangered. Summer and winter visitors are using the area densely. Moreover, because of overhunting and habitat degradations, species range in the area are getting narrower and unfortunately disappearing. In the study, seasonal ranges and abundances of species are also discussed. Besides, the necesstiy of informing local people about the importance of biodiversity is emphasised. 296

This paper presents 26 species and two subspecies, which are new in relation to the existing list of birds for the Šolta island published two decades ago, and which add up to the knowledge of ornithofauna of this island to the overall number of 132 species. New data were gathered from various sources: 7 species based upon own field research, 3 species upon ringed birds data, 12 species on the basis of private collections of J. Purtić and the Vlak family, 2 species from the catalogue of the ornithological collection of the Natural History Museum in Split, 1 species from the catalogue of the Collection of birds of the Croatian Natural History Museum, and 1 species from the older ornithological literature. Of the total of 26 species, 4 are nesting birds, and 22 are spring-autumn migrants or the wintering birds of the Šolta island.

New data were gathered from various sources: 7 species were recorded during the authors’ own field research on the island, 3 species concern the recovery of ringed birds, 12 species were found in the private collections of J. Purtić and the Vlak family, 2 new species in the catalogue of the ornithological collection of the Natural History Museum in Split, 1 new species from the catalogue of the Bird Collection of the Croatian Natural History Museum in Zagreb and 1 in the older ornithological literature. Purtića i obitelji Vlak, 2 vrste iz kataloga Ornitološke zbirke Prirodoslovnog muzeja u Splitu, 1 vrsta iz kataloga Zbirke ptica Hrvatskog prirodoslovnog muzeja te 1 vrsta iz starije ornitološke literature. Od ukupno 26 vrsta 3 su gnjezdarice, a 23 su proljetno-jesenske selice ili zimovalice otoka Šolte.

06.03.2018 tarihli ve 30352 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayımlanan “Yükseköğretim Kanunu İle Bazı Kanun Ve Kanun Hükmünde Kararnamelerde Değişiklik Yapılması Hakkında Kanun” ile 18.06.2018 tarihli “Lisansüstü Tezlerin Elektronik Ortamda Toplanması, Düzenlenmesi ve Erişime Açılmasına İlişkin Yönerge” gereğince tam metin erişime açılmıştır. Bu çalışmada Bursa ili sınırları içerisinde yer alan İznik Gölü'nün kuş faunası araştırılmıştır. Arazi çalışmaları Mart 2008- Mart 2009 tarihleri arasında, İznik Gölü çevresinde belirlenen 6 istasyonda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Arazi çalışmaları sonucunda İznik Gölü'nde 11 ordodan, 29 familyaya dahil toplam 58 kuş türü tespit edilmiştir. Bunlardan 11'i yerli, 26 kış göçmeni, 11'i yaz göçmeni, 10'u transit geçer türdür. İstasyonda görülen türlerin tamamı, koruma statüleri bakımından ?Nesli Tehlike Altında Olmayan (Least Concern)? grubuna girmektedir [29]. In this study, bird fauna of İznik Lake within the borders of the province of Bursa are investigated. Cross-country studies were held between the dates in March 2008 - March 2009, in the vicinity of İznik Lake at 6 stations that has been determined. As a result of cross-country studies at İznik Lake, total 58 bird species was determined, 11 of them from Ordo including 29 Families. These species are 11 local, 26 winter migrants, 11 summer immigrants and 10 transit immigrants. All of the species at the station, in terms of protection status enter to the group ?non extinct (Least Concern)" [29].

The aim of this study is to provide information on the species list and seasonal diversity of ornithofauna in Yörükki{dotless}rka Lake, Eskişehir. As observation methods, point count and line transect were used. In the study area 96 bird species of which 49 are resident (R), 39 are summer migrant (S), 4 are winter visitor (WV), 4 are passage migrant (PM) were recorded. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the diversity indices of the spring and winter seasons (p=0.005). The most abundant bird species was Fulica atra (Eurasian coot) (81-100%). Overhunting and use of chemicals are the threatening factors on the bird populations in Yörükki{dotless}rka Lake.

Tijekom 2007. godine provedeno je istraživanje ornitofaune u četiri zagrebačka parka. Cilj je bio utvrditi sastav i raznolikost ornitofaune istraživanih parkova te dobivene podatke dovesti u vezu s obilježjima parkova. Time bi se ustanovio značaj ovih površina u očuvanju i unapređivanju populacija ptica grada Zagreba te dale smjernice za daljnje upravljanje parkovima. Svaki je park posjećen dva puta mjesečno u razdoblju sezone gniježđenja te jedanput mjesečno u ostatku godine. Prilikom bilježenja ptica i utvrđivanja teritorija korištena je metoda kartiranja. Varijable o obilježjima parkova izračunate su na osnovu podataka dobivenih od podružnice Zrinjevac Zagrebačkog holdinga. Tijekom istraživanja zabilježeno je ukupno 45 vrsta ptica od čega su 24 vrste gnjezdarice koje gnijezdo imaju u parku. Broj vrsta gnjezdarica koje barem dio teritorija imaju u parku iznosio je 27. Na zimovanju su zabilježene 24 vrste. Omnivorne vrste i vrste koje se hrane na tlu pokazale su se dominantnima i za gniježđenja i za zimovanja. Među gnjezdaricama s gnijezdom u parku dominantne su bile one koje gnijezde u krošnjama. Među gnjezdaricama koje barem dio teritorija imaju u parku dominantne su bile one koje gnijezde na antropogenim objektima. 13 varijabli okoliša pokazalo je povezanost s barem jednom varijablom ornitofaune a 57 varijabli ornitofaune pokazalo se korelirani s barem jednom od varijabli okoliša. Grupa omnivora pokazala je pozitivnu korelaciju s posjećenosti i pokrovnosti zgradama što za zimovanja, što za sezone gniježđenja. Ove dvije varijable okoliša su pak pokazale negativan utjecaj na ostale grupe ptica. Varijable okoliša povezane s vegetacijom pokazale su pak pozitivan utjecaj na raznolikost i bogatstvo svih grupa ptica osim omnivora. Bird communities were investigated in four urban parks in Zagreb during 2007. The study intends to asses the composition and diversity of bird communities in the parks and to establish the relationship between characteristics of ornithofauna and park characteristics. The results should help asses the importance of these areas in the conservation and promotion of bird populations in Zagreb and to address guidelines for park management. Each park was visited two times monthly during the breeding season and once monthly during the rest of the year. The mapping method was used for bird recording and for assessing territories. The park variables were calculated using the data from Zrinjevac d.o.o. A total of 45 bird species were observed. The number of breeding bird species that had a nest in a park was 24 and the number of species that had at least a part of the territory in a park was 27. A total of 24 wintering bird species was recorded. Omnivorous species were dominant during the breeding season as well as during the winter. Among the breeding species that had a nest in a park the canopy nesting species were dominant. Species nesting on artificial structures were dominant among the breeding birds with at least one part of the territory within a park. 13 park variables were correlated with leastwise one ornithofauna variable. The 57 variables of ornithofauna were related to at least one park variable. Omnivorous birds correlated positively with the proportion of the built up areas and human disturbance. These two park variables were negatively correlated with other bird groups. Vegetation variables correlated positively with the species richness and diversity of all bird groups except omnivorous.

Dicle Üniversitesi (Diyarbakır) kampusu içinde 2002-2004 yılları arasında yapılan yıl boyunca yapılan ornitolojik gözlemler, 2003 yılı sonbahar dönemi ile 2004 yılı ilkbahar dönemindeki kuş halkalama çalışmaları ve literatür kayıtlarının değerlendirilmesi sonucunda 47 aileden 189 kuş türünün alanda görüldüğü belirlenmiştir. Bazı türlerdeki ekolojik ya da davranışsal gözlemler ayrıntılarıyla açıklanmıştır. Çizgili ishakkuşu (Otus brucei), İzmir Yalıçapkını {Halcyon smyrnensis), Doğu Söğütbülbülü (Phylloscopus orientalis), Orman Söğütbülbülü (Phylloscopus sibilatrix) ve Küçük Çinte (Emberiza pusilla) alanda ilk kez belirlenmiş türlerdir. Araştırma alanı kuşlar açısından önemli habitat çeşitliliğine sahiptir. Ancak, son yıllarda çeşitli etkilerle daralan bu habitatların bozulması, mevcut kuş çeşitliliğini olduğu gibi kampustaki doğal yaşamı tehdit eden en önemli etkendir. In Dicle University campus, taking in to account the ornithological observations made between 2002 - 2004, bird ringing studies carried out between 2003 autumn and 2004 spring season and also literature records, 189 bird species from 47 families has been defined. For some species detailed explanations about the ecological and behavioral observations were given. Striated Scops Owl (Otus brucei), White-breasted Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis), Eastern BonellPs Warbler (Phylloscopus orientalis), Wood Warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix) and Little Bunting (Emberiza pusilla) recorded for the first time in the research area. The research area has big importance for birds in terms of its habitat diversity. But the fragmentation of those habitats due to different reasons in the recent years acts as a big threat on the bird diversity and also the natural life in the university campus. 77

A new bird species was recorded for the Croatian ornithofauna. The semipalmated Sandpiper Calidris pusilla was caught and marked at Donji Miholjac ponds on April 16th 2000. Its biometric data and description are given., U hrvatskoj ornitofauni zabilježena je nova vrsta ptice. Radi se o vrsti Calidris pusilla, čiji je primjerak uhvaćen i prstenovan 16.4.2000. na ribnjacima u Donjem Miholjcu. U radu se daju biometrijski podaci i opis prstenovanog primjerka.

This study was carried to determine the ornithofauna of Doganci Pond and vicinity, which is located in the Alpu District of Eskişehir province. The study area, which is situated on one of the migration routes for birds, has a natural and wetlands occurring around the pond during spring and fall. In the study period from August 1996 to August 1997, 86 species and 1 subspecies belonging to 36 families from 13 orders were identified in the area.

We investigated avian use of the Pantan habitats, a Mediterranean wetland on the Croatian coast of the Adriatic sea by comparing census from two periods. The Pantan was surveyed for breeding, resident, wintering and passage birds in the periods from 1968-72 and 1986-91. Species richness declined from 67 to 54. Wintering/passage bird species was the most important group of birds but hey also decline from 55 in the period 1968-72 to 42 in the period 1986-91. The value of Pantan coastal area to birds was determined by 25 threatened species and 15 "Species of European Special Consern " (SPEC; Tucker & Heath, 1994). The Pantan wetland ecosystem has a floristical, ornithological and aesthetic value at both the regional and international levels. The wetland ecosystem has been destroyed in part by the construction of artificial fishponds and by the regulation of the water course, and it is threatened by the dumping of garbage and rubble, the sedimentation of lead and nitrogen compounds, and the planned construction of housing and a slaughterhouse. There are impacts of fishing and hunting on waterbirds. The degradation of wetlands is reflected in the reduction of the frequency and/or abundance of 87 % of the bird species. We discuss the socioeconomic context for conservation management and sustainable development of coastal wetlands in Croatia. Management measures for conservation of the wetland as a whole are suggested.

Regular observations of birds in Osijek and surroundings areas have been made at the end of the last and the begining of this century. Similar observations in the same territory were carried out from 1982 till now to establish change in the ornithofauna of this area due to modified ecological conditions. Some less sensitive species are still found in this area, but more sensitive ones no longer exist. From 1896-1901 Rösler, 1898 noted 131 species of birds in Osijek and surrounding areas. From 1982-1987 92 species of birds were observed and noted. Seventy species are common in elaborated periods. Sixtyone species are not found in this district, and 22 species are new species. Species which are no longer present here are thowe living in the water habitat. This is in direct correlation with decrease of swampy soil near Osijek.

The vegetation within the urban system provides sheltering and food provisions to birds, influencing their nesting options. This study analyses for the first time in the Mediterranean area how different socio-ecological factors related with public urban green management can influence the nesting of the passerine bird order. It uses a case study in the city of Valls (Catalonia, Spain). First, the public urban green was quantitatively and qualitatively characterised; then the nests from the passerine birds were collected and identified, and finally, potential associations between nests and urban green-related socio-ecological factors such as vegetation type (tree, shrub, herb, liana), plant species, neighbourhood type, pruning type, fruit and seed production, and presence of insect plague were analysed. A total of 300 nests were identified and belonged, mostly, to the family of Fringillidae and Sylviidae, all from Mediterranean agroforestry areas. Passerine birds show preference for the historic centre, being this area the one with highest biodiversity of vegetation in the city, in detriment of surrounding neighbourhoods, which in turn are less biodiverse. Passerine birds do not consider four tree species (Celtis australis, Laurus nobilis, Robinia pseudoacacia and Pinus pinea) suitable for nesting whereas showing preference for two tree species of medium height and size (Hibiscus syriacus and Melia azederach). Also, passerine birds seem to preferably nest in trees that have been pruned intensively. These results suggest that, to strengthen the passerine bird diversity in cities, urban green management should promote certain species of trees of medium size and intensive pruning while supporting the overall biodiversity of the urban green. All these results contribute to inform effective urban planning and management strategies for passerine birds conservation that aim to reconcile urban development and urban biodiversity protection.
