The objective of this study was to report the application of Lean in the restructuring of the skin care commission in an oncology institution. Method: This is an experience report that systematically describes the methodological path for the restructuring of a skin care commission, developed in four stages. Results: The composition of the team and training of its members are presented from the perspective of Lean methodology; elaboration of the macro process of the patient's inflow into the institution; identification and prioritization of problems related to cancer patient skin care processes and application of Lean tools. Final considerations: The use of Lean improved communication between patients, families and nurses, in addition to improving care processes, from the identification of opportunities for improvement and application of Lean tools, making the stages of the processes free of waste, with greater added value for the patient. El objetivo de este estudio fue relatar la aplicación de Lean en la reestructuración de la comisión de cuidado de la piel en una institución de oncología. Método: Se trata de un relato de experiencia que describe sistemáticamente el camino metodológico para la reestructuración de una comisión de cuidado de la piel, desarrollado en cuatro etapas. Resultados: Se presenta la composición del equipo y la formación de sus integrantes en la perspectiva de la metodología Lean; elaboración del macro proceso de ingreso del paciente a la institución; identificación y priorización de problemas relacionados con los procesos de cuidado de la piel del paciente oncológico y aplicación de herramientas Lean. Consideraciones finales: El uso de Lean mejoró la comunicación entre pacientes, familiares y enfermeras, además de mejorar los procesos de atención, a partir de la identificación de oportunidades de mejora y aplicación de herramientas Lean, haciendo que las etapas de los procesos estén libres de desperdicios, con mayor valor agregado para el paciente. O objetivo deste estudo foi relatar a aplicação do Lean na reestruturação da comissão de cuidados com a pele em uma instituição oncológica. Método: Trata-se de um relato de experiência que descreve sistematicamente o caminhar metodológico para a reestruturação de uma comissão de cuidados com a pele, desenvolvido em quatro etapas. Resultados e Discussão: Apresenta-se a composição da equipe e capacitação de seus membros na perspectiva da metodologia Lean; elaboração do macroprocesso do fluxo de entrada do paciente na instituição; identificação e priorização dos problemas relacionados aos processos de cuidado com a pele do paciente oncológico e aplicação das ferramentas Lean. Considerações finais: A utilização do Lean melhorou a comunicação entre os pacientes, familiares e enfermeiros, além de aperfeiçoar os processos de cuidados, a partir da identificação das oportunidades de melhoria e aplicação das ferramentas Lean, tornando as etapas dos processos livres de desperdícios, com maior agregação de valor para o paciente.

Resumo Objetivo: analisar as evidências científicas relacionadas aos riscos ocupacionais e às intervenções que promovem segurança no trabalho para a equipe de enfermagem oncológica. Métodos: revisão de literatura realizada nas bases de dados MEDLINE, Web of Science, Scopus, LILACS, IBECS e BDENF. Resultados: a busca identificou 17 estudos primários, publicados em inglês, no período de 2008 a 2017. Dentre os fatores que configuram riscos ocupacionais, destacam-se: o déficit no conhecimento; a pouca disponibilidade de equipamentos de proteção individual para manuseio dos medicamentos antineoplásicos; o estresse; e a ansiedade. Quanto às intervenções que promovem a segurança, evidenciam-se: a manutenção do ambiente laboral favorável ao desempenho da assistência; a disponibilidade de insumos; o bom relacionamento interpessoal; a organização do trabalho; o dimensionamento profissional adequado; o conhecimento, a disponibilidade e o incentivo ao uso dos equipamentos de proteção; e a compreensão dos riscos ocupacionais aos quais os profissionais estão expostos. Conclusão: o estudo possibilitou a identificação de fatores associados à atividade laboral que comprometem a saúde da equipe de enfermagem oncológica, demonstrando a necessidade de intervenções voltadas para a melhoria das relações interprofissionais, a capacitação dos profissionais e o oferecimento de um ambiente de trabalho seguro e condições organizacionais que promovam a saúde dos trabalhadores. Abstract Objective: to analyze scientific evidence on occupational risks and interventions aimed at promoting workplace safety for oncology nurses. Methods: literature review carried out in MEDLINE, Web of Science, Scopus, LILACS, IBECS, and BDENF databases. Results: the search returned 17 primary studies, published in English from 2008 to 2017. The most common factors identified as associated with occupational risks were knowledge deficit, insuficient personal protective equipment (PPE) available for handling anticancer drugs, stress, and anxiety. The interventions identified as promoting occupational safety were: keeping the work environment suitable for care performance; supplies availability; good interpersonal relationship; work organization; suitable professional dimensioning; availability, awareness and encouragement on the use of PPE; and the understanding of the occupational risks to which workers are exposed. Conclusion: the results enable the identification of work-related factors that endanger the oncology nursing teams’ health, evincing the need for interventions aimed at improving interprofessional relationships, qualifying professionals, and offering a safe working environment and organizational conditions that will promote workers’ health.

Objective: to analyze the strategies implemented by nurses to reconfigure palliative oncological care due to the hospital accreditation process in Hospital do Câncer IV (Hospital of Cancer IV). Method: qualitative research of historical-social approach, whose direct sources in use were written documents and four spoken accounts. Results: implemented strategies were: creation of the Nursing Division; nursing staff management; consolidation of Continuing Education sector; creation of Internal Nursing Bylaws through development of norms and routines; meetings; discussion of clinical cases; training and classes; creation of Núcleo de Assistência de Enfermagem (Nursing Assistance Core); creation of a tumoral and ostomy wound-dressing ambulatory; and organization of the 5th Vital Sign Forum. Final considerations: nurses, supported by an alliance with the institution directors, implemented effective strategies and reached significant advancement. As they took part in this endeavor, they became legitimate spokespeople of an authorized discourse in the field of oncological nursing care in Brazil.

Einleitung: Die Zahl der an Krebs neuerkrankten Personen beträgt im Jahr 2016 in Österreich rund 41.000. Die Therapie einer Krebserkrankung setzt sich aus drei wesentlichen Bestandteilen zusammen: die operative Therapie, die medikamentöse Tumortherapie und die Strahlentherapie. Diese werden in den meisten Fällen unterschiedlich miteinander kombiniert und führen zum Auftreten diverser Nebenwirkungen. Da die Therapie auch Einwirkung auf die gesunden Zellen hat, kommt es zu Veränderungen der Mundschleimhaut. Hinsichtlich dessen, bilden onkologische Patientinnen und Patienten eine Risikogruppe. Die Aufgaben des Pflegepersonals sind hier von großer Bedeutung. Es ist wichtig, dass diese über ein umfangreiches Wissen und fachliche Kompetenz hinsichtlich der Mundhygiene verfügen um die Patientinnen und Patienten dahingehend zu sensibilisieren. Methodik: Die Arbeit basiert auf einer systematischen Literaturrecherche, welche in den Datenbanksystemen „CINAHL” und „PubMed” durchgeführt wurde. Anhand der Definition von Ein- und Ausschlusskriterien erfolgte die Selektion der Literatur, welche zum Einschluss von sieben Publikationen führte. Ergebnisse: Als Schwachstelle in der pflegerischen Betreuung bei onkologischen Patientinnen und Patienten geht deutlich der Wissensmangel des Pflegepersonals und die daraus resultierende fehlende Informationsweitergabe an die Patientinnen und Patienten hervor. Als Reaktion darauf sind Maßnahmen zur Ausweitung von Aus- und Weiterbildungsprogrammen notwendig, sowie die Intensivierung interprofessioneller Zusammenarbeit. Diskussion: Zeitliche und personelle Ressourcen werden als nicht schwerwiegend bewertet. Auch die Selbsteinschätzung der befragten Pflegepersonen fällt positiv aus. Eine Spezialisierung in der onkologischen Pflege ist auch im europäischen Raum erforderlich. Introduction: In 2016 the incidence rate for cancer in Austria was roughly 41.000. Cancer treatments consist of three main components: operative therapy, drug-based tumor therapy and radiation therapy. These are usually combined in different ways and lead to the occurrence of various side effects. Since the therapy also affects healthy cells, changes in the oral mucosa may arise. This is why oncological patients are regarded as a risk group. The nursing staff tasks and functions form an essential part of oncological care. Their extensive knowledge and professional competence in regard to oral hygiene is necessary to sensitize and raise patient awareness. Method: This thesis is based on a systematic literature review, which was conducted by the use of the database systems, ”CINAHL” and ”PubMed”. A selection of literature took place by defining inclusion and exclusion criteria, which led to the inclusion of seven publications. Results: The weakness in nursing care for oncological patients is clearly the nursing staffs lack of knowledge and consequently the insufficient information given to the patients. As a response, it is necessary to take measures to extend initial and continuous education and training as well as an intensification of interprofessional collaboration. Discussion: Personnel and time resources are not regarded as significant. The self- evaluation of questioned nursing staff is generally positive. A specialization of oncological nursing is required on a European level.

Kurzfassung: Einleitung: Onkologisch erkrankte Menschen leiden an einer Vielzahl von Symptomen, wie Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Schlafstörungen, Schmerzen, Angstzuständen, Stimmungsschwankungen, dem Fatigue – Syndrom, sowie der Beeinträchtigung von Lebensqualität und Wohlbefinden. Diese Beschwerden können durch die Erkrankung an sich, aber auch aufgrund der multimodalen Therapieverfahren wie Chemo-, Radio-, oder Strahlentherapie auftreten. Therapeutic Touch (TT) ist eine komplementäre Pflegeintervention, die in die pflegerische Arbeit in eigenverantwortlicher Durchführung gesetzt werden kann, um onkologisch erkrankten Menschen eine Linderung der Symptome, sowie eine Verbesserung der Lebensqualität und des Wohlbefindens zu verschaffen. Methodik: Die beiden Forschungsfragen, die dieser Arbeit zugrunde liegen, sollen durch eine systematische Literaturrecherche beantwortet werden. Diese fand über die Universitätsbibliothek Wien usearch, über die Fachhochschule Campus Wien-Bibliothek mit den Datenbanken PubMed, Academic Search Elite, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, Springer Link und ScienceDirect statt. Die „berry picking“ Methode ergänzte die Literaturrecherche, um weitere aussagekräftige Studien in die Literaturarbeit aufnehmen zu können. Ergebnisse: Es konnten signifikante, positive Effekte bei den Parametern Lebensqualität und Wohlbefinden, Schmerzen, Fatigue, Angst, sowie Stimmungsschwankungen durch die Anwendung von TT bei Krebspatient*innen festgestellt werden. Weitere Anwendungsmöglichkeiten, die sich aus den einzelnen Studien eruieren ließen, waren eine Verbesserung in der Dauer und der Frequenz der Übelkeit und des Erbrechens, sowie eine verbesserte Schlafqualität. Diskussion: Therapeutic Touch (TT) scheint im onkologischen Setting eine Vielzahl an positiven Effekten auf die einzelnen Parameter erzielen zu können. Gegenwärtig ist die Anzahl der Studien, die sich auf TT und die Auswirkungen auf onkologisch erkrankte Menschen beziehen, jedoch noch unzureichend, um für diese Effekte eine sehr gute Evidenz nachweisen zu können. Zukünftige Studien sollten in der Ausführung breiter und in ihrer Durchführung einheitlicher angelegt werden, um vergleichbare Ergebnisse zu erhalten. Abstract: Objective: People with oncological diseases suffer from a variety of symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, sleep disorders, pain, anxiety, mood swings, fatigue syndrome and deterioration of the quality of life and well-being. These symptoms can be caused by the disease itself, but also by multimodal therapies such as chemo-, radio-, or radiation therapy. Therapeutic Touch (TT) is a complementary nursing intervention that can be integrated into the nursing work in order to provide a reduction of symptoms and an improvement in the quality of life and well being for people with an oncological disease. Methods: The two research questions of this paper are answered by a systematic literature research. “usearch” from the University Library Vienna and PubMed, Academic Elite, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, Springer Link and ScienceDirect from the University of Applied Sciences Campus Wien-Bibliothek were the databases, that have been used for this study. The “berry picking" method completed the literature research in order to be able to include more studies in the literature work. Results: There are some evidences, that the application of TT has significant, positive effects on the parameters quality of life and well-being, pain, fatigue, anxiety, and mood swings on oncological patients. Other positive effects that could be identified from the individual studies were an improvement in the duration and frequency of nausea and vomiting, and an improved quality of sleep. Discussion: Therapeutic Touch (TT) seems to be able to achieve a multitude of positive effects on the individual parameters in the oncological setting. Right now, the number of studies on TT and its effects for people with an oncological disease is still too low to provide enough evidence for these effects. Future studies should be broader in scope and more uniform in the setting to get comparable results.

OBJECTIVE: To compare the perception of quality of life and the presence of anxious and depressive symptoms of patients undergoing chemotherapy, users of a public hospital and a private hospital in the city of Maceió/AL.METHODS: Observational cross-sectional study, carried out with patients undergoing oncologic treatment with chemotherapy in a public and private hospital in Maceió from November 2015 to July 2016. The QV was evaluated using the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Core Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC) and the presence of anxiety and depressive symptoms were observed by the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD). The collected data were organized in electronic database and analyzed quantitatively through statistical software Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), respecting the distribution nature of the studied variables.RESULTS: The sample consisted of 65 patients, 33 (50.9%) were attended in a hospital that was contracted to the Unified Health System (SUS) and 32 (49.1%) in the private hospital. The mean age was 54.2 years (±11.8 SD), with no difference between groups (p=0.184). Much of the sample was female (67.7%). It was observed that the group of individuals treated through the private covenant had a greater possibility of presenting signs of anxiety compared to the SUS group (n=26, 81.2% versus n=7, 21.2%, respectively) (p

The change of the anesthesia-, intensive-, surgery-, and oncological nursing postgraduate education into clinical-oriented master programs makes it necessary to increase the professional skills of nurse specialist clinical supervisors. A competence program for clinical supervisors (15 credits) was developed by a university in Norway from 2014 to 2015 in order to facilitate capacity building of academic and pedagogical knowledge. To illuminate nurse specialist clinical supervisors' learning components by implementing a competence program in clinical supervision. A qualitative document analysis of 44 written assignments made by 18 nurse specialist clinical supervisors participating in the competence program, which were collected from the University's electronic learning platform. One main theme and two themes emerged: Changes in the professional paradigm, Learning components that influence clinical supervisors' style and Learning components that have an impact on clinical supervisors' professional growth. This study provides valuable insight into the learning components in clinical supervision that have contributed to a change in the nurse specialist clinical supervision paradigm. The supervisors have formal competence to provide clinical supervision to postgraduate students at master level. The program confirms the value of educating nurse specialist clinical supervisors and we recommend that it should be continued and further evaluated.

Objetivo: verificar los aspectos asociados a la prescripcion, preparacion y administracion del metronidazol para control del olor en heridas neoplasicas. Metodologia: estudio transversal, con 80 profesionales de salud de cinco hospitales referencia en oncologia en Recife, PE, entre agosto y octubre de 2017. Se analizaron las variables: caracterizacion profesional, criterios para prescripcion, presentacion, dilucion, aplicacion, frecuencia y cuidados en la aplicacion. Se calcularon el promedio y la desviacion tipica para las variables racionales discretas, y para categoricas dicotomicas, test chi cuadrado con correccion de Yates. Resultados: los enfermeros se caracterizaron por el poco tiempo de experiencia (1-3 anos), menor frecuencia de especializacion en comparacion con los medicos, pero con mas frecuencia de actualizacion en cuidados paliativos. Acerca de la prescripcion y uso del producto, se observaron prescripciones alternativas y empiricas, con maceracion de pastillas 14 (53,8%) o solucion inyectable en cinco (19,3%). Conclusion: resultados evidencian la escasa literatura sobre la tematica y apuntan a la necesidad de construccion de protocolos basados en evidencias cientificas.

Objetivo: analizar la formación de los grupos de síntomas en pacientes oncológicos.Método: estudio longitudinal, que se realizó de enero a junio de 2016, en lo cual se analizaron127 pacientes de un ambulatorio público de quimioterapia en un hospital general del Valedo Paraíba Paulista. La obtención de datos se realizó por medio de entrevista y, para eso, seutilizaron el MD Anderson Symptom Inventory, el Índice de Cualidad del Sueño de Pittsburghy la Escala Visual Análoga de Sueño. Se sometieron los datos al análisis estadístico descriptivoe inferencial.Resultados: se identificaron tres grupos de síntomas a lo largo del tiempo: síntomas orgánicosy funcionales; emocionales y sueño; y gastrointestinales.Conclusión: este estudio, además de subsidiar el conocimiento acerca de los grupos de síntomasen pacientes con cáncer en tratamiento de quimioterapia en ambulatorio, posibilitóconocer como esos síntomas actúan durante las cuatro primeras sesiones de quimioterapia.Así, podrá subsidiar intervenciones preventivas a los síntomas. Objetivo: analisar a formação dos clusters de sintomas em pacientes oncológicos.Método: estudo longitudinal, de janeiro a junho de 2016. Foram recrutados 127 pacientes de um ambulatório público de quimioterapia de um hospital geral do Vale do Paraíba Paulista. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevista e, para isto, foram utilizados o MD Anderson Symptom Inventory, o Índice de Qualidade do Sono de Pittsburgh e a Escala Visual Análoga de Sono. Os dados foram submetidos a análise estatística descritiva e inferencial.Resultados: três clusters de sintomas foram identificados ao longo do tempo: sintomas orgânicos e funcionais; emocionais e sono; e gastrointestinais.Conclusão: Este estudo, além de ter subsidiado o conhecimento quanto aos clusters de sintomas em pacientes com câncer em tratamento quimioterápico ambulatorial, permitiu conhecer como esses sintomas se comportam durante as quatro primeiras sessões de quimioterapia. Dessa forma, subsidiará intervenções preventivas aos sintomas. Objective: to analyze the formation of symptom clusters in cancer patients.Method: Longitudinal study carried out from January to June 2016. Twenty-seven patients were recruited from a public chemotherapy outpatient clinic of a general hospital in Vale do Paraíba Paulista. Data collection was performed through interviews, with the use of the MD Anderson Symptom Inventory, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and the Visual Analog Sleep Scale. Data were submitted to descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Results: Three symptom clusters were identified over time: organic and functional symptoms; emotional symptoms and sleep; and gastrointestinal symptoms. Conclusion: Besides contributing to improve knowledge of symptom clusters in individuals with cancer undergoing outpatient chemotherapy treatment, this study provided insight on how these symptoms behaved during the first four chemotherapy sessions. Therefore, it can be useful in interventions aimed to prevent these symptoms.

Objective: To select outcomes and indicators of the Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC), in order to assess patients with cancer under palliative care with Acute and Chronic Pain Nursing Diagnoses; and to construct the conceptual and operational definitions of the indicators. Method: Expert opinion study and literature review. The sample consisted of 13 experts. The data collection was in own tool applied in face-to-face meeting and by e-mail. In the analysis of the data, it was considered between 75% and 100% of agreement. Results: Eight outcomes and 19 indicators were selected. The results with higher scores were Pain Level, Pain Control and Client Satisfaction: Pain Management. For all indicators selected, conceptual and operational definitions were constructed. Conclusion: The selection of results and priority indicators for the assessment of pain in palliative care, as well as the construction of its definitions, will support clinical practice. RESUMEN Objetivo: Selección de resultados e indicadores de la Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC) para evaluar pacientes oncológicos en cuidados paliativos con los diagnósticos de enfermería de Dolor Agudo y Crónico; construir las definiciones conceptuales y operativas de los indicadores. Método: Estudio de opinión de expertos y de revisión de literatura. La muestra fue compuesta por 13 especialistas. La recolección de datos fue en instrumento propio aplicado en encuentro presencial y por e-mail. En el análisis de los datos, se consideró entre el 75% y el 100% de concordancia. Resultados: Se seleccionaron ocho resultados y 19 indicadores. Los resultados con mayores puntuaciones fueron Nivel del Dolor, Control del Dolor y Satisfacción del Cliente: Control del Dolor. Para todos los indicadores seleccionados, se construyeron definiciones conceptuales y operativas. Conclusión: La selección de los resultados e indicadores prioritarios a la evaluación del dolor en cuidado paliativo, así como la construcción de sus definiciones, subsidiarán la práctica clínica. RESUMO Objetivo: Selecionar resultados e indicadores da Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC) para avaliar pacientes oncológicos em cuidados paliativos com os diagnósticos de enfermagem de Dor Aguda e Crônica; construir as definições conceituais e operacionais dos indicadores. Método: Estudo de opinião de especialistas e de revisão de literatura. A amostra foi composta por 13 especialistas. A coleta de dados foi em instrumento próprio aplicado em encontro presencial e por e-mail. Na análise dos dados, considerou-se entre 75% e 100% de concordância. Resultados: Selecionaram-se oito resultados e 19 indicadores. Os resultados com maiores escores foram Nível da Dor, Controle da Dor e Satisfação do Cliente: Controle da Dor. Para todos os indicadores selecionados, foram construídas definições conceituais e operacionais. Conclusão: A seleção dos resultados e indicadores prioritários à avaliação da dor em cuidado paliativo, bem como a construção de suas definições, subsidiarão a prática clínica.

Objective: to identify the clinical profile of children in the hematopoietic stem cell post-transplant period.Method: quantitative, cross-sectional, retrospective study, performed in a transplantation service of the South of Brazil, with data from the medical records of children less than 12 years of age, who had undergone transplantation. Measures of central tendency, dispersion and frequency were used for the analysis and the chi-squared and Fisher’s tests to associate variables.Results: the mean age was 6.2 years, males, with 92 (66.7%), the diagnosis of Fanconi anemia, with 42 (30.4%), and unrelated allogeneic transplantation, with 71 (51.4%), were predominant. Hospital discharge occurred within 30 days after transplantation for 85 (61.6%) patients and 48 (34.8%) were readmitted. Catheter failures occurred in 11 children (8.0%) and the main outpatient clinical intercurrences were pain, cough, runny nose and fever. Viral infection was associated with the unrelated transplant and graft-versus-host disease.Conclusion: the profile identified corroborates the care planning for this population, contributing to the nursing practice. Objetivo: identificar o perfil clínico de crianças em pós-transplante de células-tronco hematopoiéticas.Método: pesquisa quantitativa, transversal, retrospectiva, em serviço transplantador do Sul/Brasil, com dados de prontuários de crianças com 12 anos incompletos, submetidas a transplante. Para análise utilizaram-se medidas de tendência central, dispersão, frequências e testes do qui-quadrado e Fisher para associar variáveis.Resultados: a média de idade foi de 6,2 anos, predomínio do sexo masculino 92 (66,7%), diagnóstico Anemia de Fanconi 42 (30,4%) e transplante alogênico não aparentado 71 (51,4%). A alta hospitalar aconteceu em até 30 dias pós-transplante para 85 (61,6%) e 48 (34,8%) foram reinternadas. As perdas do cateter acometeram 11 crianças (8%) e as principais intercorrências clínicas ambulatoriais foram dor, tosse, coriza e febre. Infecção viral esteve relacionada ao transplante não aparentado e doença do enxerto contra hospedeiro.Conclusão: o perfil identificado corrobora o planejamento de cuidados a esta população, contribuindo com a prática de enfermagem. Objetivo: identificar el perfil clínico de niños tras realización de trasplante de células madre hematopoyéticas.Método: investigación cuantitativa, trasversal, retrospectiva, en servicio trasplantador de Sur/Brasil, con datos de prontuarios de niños con 12 años sin cumplir, sometidos a trasplante. Para análisis, se utilizaron medidas de tendencia central, dispersión, frecuencias y prueba chi cuadrada y Fisher a fin de asociar variables.Resultados: el promedio de edad fue de 6,2 años, predominio del sexo masculino, 92 (66,7%), diagnóstico Anemia de Fanconi 42 (30,4%) y trasplante alógeno sin parentesco 71 (51,4%). El alta hospitalario ocurrió en hasta 30 días tras el trasplante para 85 (61,6%) y 48 (34,8%) se reingresaron. Las pérdidas del catéter atingieron 11 niños (8%) y las principales complicaciones clínicas ambulatorias fueron dolor, tos, secreción nasal y fiebre. Infección viral fue asociada al trasplante sin parentesco y enfermedad del injerto contra huésped.Conclusión: el perfil identificado corrobora el planeamiento de cuidados a esa población, contribuyendo con la práctica de enfermería.

O objetivo é compreender os sentimentos de enfermeiras no cuidado de pessoas com feridas neoplásicas durante arealização do curativo. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, de natureza qualitativa, realizado com 20 enfermeirasassistenciais de um hospital filantrópico da Paraíba que presta cuidados a pacientes com doença oncológica avançada.Os dados foram coletados no período de abril a junho de 2016, por meio de entrevistas norteadas por um roteirosemiestruturado, após aprovação do Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa do Hospital Universitário Alcides Carneiro sob parecern.º 1.320.367 e analisadas por meio da Técnica de Análise do Conteúdo de Bardin. Os discursos apontaram sentimentospositivos e negativos, percebidos durante a realização dos curativos, onde o sentimento tristeza obteve o maiorpercentual de respostas. Evidenciou-se que as enfermeiras desenvolvem habilidades empáticas diante do sofrimento dopaciente, promovendo ações de solicitude com vistas ao conforto físico e psíquico do mesmo.Palavras-chave: Oncologia; Enfermagem Oncológica; Neoplasias Cutâneas. AbstractThe aim is to understand the nurses’ feelings in the care of people with neoplastic wounds during the dressing. This is anexploratory qualitative study carried out with 20 nursing assistants from a philanthropic hospital in Paraíba that providescare to patients with advanced cancer disease. The data were collected from April to June 2016, through interviewsguided by a semi-structured script, after approval of the Research Ethics Committee of the Alcides Carneiro UniversityHospital under opinion No. 1,320,367 and analyzed by means of the Technique of Bardin Content Analysis. The speechespointed to positive and negative feelings, perceived during the dressings accomplishment, where the sad feeling obtainedthe highest percentage of responses. Resumo Objetivo Identificar os sinais e sintomas apresentados por pacientes com Linfoma de Hodgkin submetidos ao protocolo quimioterápico composto por Doxorrubicina, Bleomicina, Vimblastina e Dacarbazina (ABVD) por meio de aconselhamento telefônico e comparar os escores de gradação dos sinais e sintomas apresentados nos ciclos do protocolo. Métodos Descritivo, prospectivo, quantitativo. Sete pacientes receberam aconselhamento telefônico, em 24 tempos de chamadas programadas e não programadas, correspondentes a 6 ciclos de quimioterapia com protocolo ABVD. Utilizou-se o Inventário de Sintomas do M.D Anderson e o Critério Comum de Terminologia para Eventos Adversos, para a gradação dos sintomas e um protocolo de condutas. Realizou-se análise descritiva e analítica. Resultados Duzentas e oitenta e seis chamadas telefônicas geraram1.870 queixas sintomáticas. Nas chamadas programadas, as queixas com maior prevalência foram fadiga, preocupações, falta de apetite, vômitos e náuseas. Quanto a interferência nas atividades de vida diária, os itens relacionados a atividades em geral, no trabalho e dificuldade para caminhar, além de alterações no humor foram relatados em maior frequência. Nas chamadas não programadas, a falta de apetite e desregulação menstrual foram as queixas mais recorrentes. Na análise da progressão dos sintomas, observou-se aumento de náuseas e vômitos (p=0,02), diminuição da fadiga e falta de ar (p≤0,03), melhora do sono (p=0,02) e diminuição do estresse (p=0,02). Conclusão A fadiga, náusea, vômito e alteração nas atividades de trabalho foram relatados frequentemente. Houve progressão de náuseas e vômitos, mas regressão da fadiga e do estresse. O aconselhamento telefônico permitiu a comunicação e o manejo rápido de um número expressivo de sintomas. Resumen Objetivo Identificar los signos y síntomas presentados por pacientes con linfoma de Hodgkin sometidos al protocolo quimioterápico compuesto por doxorrubicina, bleomicina, vinblastina y dacarbazina (ABVD) mediante consulta telefónica, y comparar los puntajes de graduación de los signos y síntomas presentados en los ciclos del protocolo. Métodos Descriptivo, prospectivo, cuantitativo. Siete pacientes recibieron asesoramiento telefónico en 24 momentos de llamadas programadas y no programadas, correspondientes a 6 ciclos de quimioterapia con protocolo ABVD. Se utilizó el Inventario de Síntomas de M. D. Anderson y el Criterio de Terminología Común para Efectos Adversos, para la puntuación de lis síntomas, y un protocolo de conductas. Se realizó análisis descriptivo y analítico. Resultados Doscientas ochenta y seis llamadas telefónicas determinaron 1.870 quejas sintomáticas. En las llamadas programadas, las quejas más prevalentes fueron: fatiga, preocupaciones, falta de apetito, vómitos y náuseas. Respecto a interferencia en actividades cotidianas, los ítems relacionados con actividad en general, laboral y dificultad para caminar, además de cambios del humor, fueron informados con mayor frecuencia. En llamadas no programadas, la falta de apetito y la irregularidad menstrual resultaron las quejas más habituales. En el análisis de progresión de los síntomas se observó aumento de náuseas y vómitos (p=0,02), disminución de fatiga y falta de aire (p≤0,03), mejora del sueño (p=0,02) y disminución del estrés (p=0,02). Conclusión Hubo informe frecuente de fatiga, náuseas, vómitos y cambios en actividades laborales. Existió progresión de náuseas y vómitos, y regresión de fatiga y estrés. La consulta telefónica permitió comunicación y rápido manejo de una expresiva cantidad de síntomas. Abstract Objective To identify through telephone counselling the signs and symptoms presented by patients with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma undergoing chemotherapy with the protocol composed by doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine and dacarbazine and to compare severity scores of the signs and symptoms presented in the cycles of the protocol. Methods Descriptive, prospective, quantitative study. Seven patients received telephone counselling in 24 scheduled and unscheduled calls, corresponding to 6 ABVD chemotherapy cycle. The MD Anderson Symptom Inventory and the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events were used for scoring the symptoms, along with a conduct protocol. A descriptive and analytical analysis was conducted. Results Two hundred and eighty-six telephone calls generated 1,870 symptomatic complaints. In scheduled calls, the most prevalent complaints were fatigue, distress, lack of appetite, vomiting and nausea. As for the interference in daily life activities, the items related to general activities, work, difficulty walking, and mood changes were reported more frequently. In unscheduled calls, lack of appetite and irregular menstruation were the most recurring complaints. The analysis of the progression of symptoms showed an increase in nausea and vomiting (p=0.02), decrease in fatigue and shortness of breath (p≤0.03), improvement in sleep (p=0.02) and decrease of stress (p=0.02). Conclusion Fatigue, nausea, vomiting and alterations in work activities were frequently reported. There was progression of nausea and vomiting but regression of fatigue and stress. Telephone consultation allowed a rapid communication and management of an expressive number of symptoms.

O extravasamento de quimioterápicos antineoplásicos em via periférica, decorre de ações negligentes ou acidentais durante a administração da quimioterapia. O presente estudo teve por objetivo revisar a produção cientifica voltada a atuação do enfermeiro no manejo e na prevenção do extravasamento de quimioterápicos, por meio de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, nas bases de dados do Scielo e BVS, entre os anos de 2008 a 2020, mediante o emprego da combinação dos seguintes termos: enfermagem e quimioterapia; extravasamento de quimioterápicos; enfermagem oncológica; emergência oncológica. Foram obtidos 778 artigos, dos quais 19 (2,44%) foram selecionadas, estes apontam que os enfermeiros possuem informações limitadas acerca dos riscos que envolvem o manuseio, a administração e o descarte de antineoplásicos, bem como as condutas após o extravasamento. Observamos que os enfermeiros que atuam no âmbito oncológico carecem de aprimoramento cientifico e formação adequada para desempenhar as atividades do setor, afim de minimizar os riscos de extravasamento e aprimorar a assistência fornecida ao paciente.

Objective: To ascertain the incidence of burnout syndrome in Nurses working in Neurological Nursing. Burnout Syndrome (SV) often occurs in Neurological Nursing, where the Nurses are in circumstances associated with suffering and death. Design: For the diagnosis of burnout syndrome we used the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Respondents consisted of Nurses n = 120 working at the Neurological Department, in a hospital and ambulances belonging to those wards in Slovakia. Results: In our study, out of n = 120 Nurses working at the Departments of Oncology 50, 83% showed high levels of burnout in their degree of emotional burnout (EE). We found that the age of Nurses has an impact on the formation of burnout syndrome: where the age range was 31-40 years old, 62.16% showed high degrees of burnout in the degree of depersonalization (DP); 64.86% showed a medium degree in the degree of personal satisfaction (PAT). The relation between seniority in neurological care and burnout syndrome is not confirmed. However the relation between the total length of practice and the degree of burnout is confirmed. Concusions: Based on the findings, the management of Neurological and Oncological Nursing it can be recommended that more focus be placed on programs of preventive measures in the field of burnout among Nurses.
