An optical wireless communication technology subset includes visible light communication (VLC) that enhances resource usage by enabling high-speed data transmission with visible light while illuminating. Cooperative communication uses the system's users as relay stations to enhance the lower energy usage, transmission quality and boost network performance. In this paper, the decode-and-forward relaying technique for L pulse position modulated (L-PPM) modulated cooperative VLC (C-VLC) systems is presented. The signals received from cooperative broadcasts are combined at the receiving node using the maximum ratio combining (MRC) technique. The suggested system is thoroughly studied for a multi-user scenario, followed by scenarios with two and three users. In this paper, the bit error probability (BEP) of L-PPM modulated C-VLC system is calculated for both perfect and imperfect channel state information (CSI). To validate the generated analytical BEP results, simulation results are shown and contrasted with direct transmission and on–off keying (OOK) modulated C-VLC systems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
