Objective To explore the effect of intensive care led by specialist nurses on medical adhesive-related skin injury (MARSI) in postoperative orthopedic patients.Methods Patients admitted to the Orthopedic Department of the Medical Center Hospital of Qionglai City from June 2022 to December 2023 for scheduled or elective surgery were recruited and randomly divided into control group and intervention group. To investigate the effects of combining a "six heart" nursing model intervention with comfortable nursing in patients suffering from primary liver cancer receiving radiotherapy. Between March 2017 to March 2022, 70 patients having liver cancer who received radiotherapy at our hospital were chosen and separated into observation and control groups employing the random number table technique, and each group consisted of 35 cases. Patients of the observation group received "six heart" nursing model intervention in addition to comfort nursing based on conventional intervention, while the control group's patients received standard nursing intervention during radiotherapy. After the intervention, the observation groups' scores and total scores of physical and emotional burden and the scores of escaping and yielding were significantly lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Following the intervention, each dimension's scores, total score and of the resilience scale and the scores of general well-being and quality of life of the observation group were significantly greater in comparison to the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The observation group's overall nursing satisfaction rate was 100.00%, which showed a statistically significant difference from the control group's 85.71 (P<0.05). BACKGROUND: Standardised management of day surgery for haemorrhoids and achieving standardised nursing in the painless ward of colorectal surgery are important. OBJECTIVE: To explore the role of segmented nursing pathways in patients undergoing day surgery for anorectal procedures and to provide theoretical and practical guidance for day surgery nursing. METHODS: A total of 146 patients undergoing anorectal surgery in our day surgery ward between April 2023 and July 2023 were selected as the study participants, with 74 patients in the control group receiving routine nursing and 72 patients in the experimental group receiving segmented nursing. The preoperative preparedness, preoperative anxiety, complication rate, discharge preparedness and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. RESULTS: The experimental group had higher rates of admission before 8:30 am (77.78% vs 45.95%), awareness of the day surgery process (63.89% vs 24.32%), completion rate of preoperative preparation (81.94% vs 59.46%), satisfaction with preoperative preparation (94.44% vs 74.32%), discharge preparedness (112.42 ± 3.28 vs 95.82 ± 3.41) and nursing satisfaction (97.22% vs 70.27%) compared with the control group (P < 0.05). After the intervention, the self-rating anxiety scale score (43.14 ± 12.44 vs 52.51 ± 13.21) and the self-rating depression scale score (45.03 ± 11.37 vs 55.37 ± 10.14) were lower in the experimental group than in the control group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Segmented nursing pathways can improve the preoperative preparedness of patients undergoing day surgery for anorectal procedures, alleviate patient anxiety, enhance discharge preparedness, improve the quality of nursing care and increase nursing satisfaction. Objective: To investigate the effects of basic nursing combined with psychological intervention on treatment compliance, self-care ability, clinical efficacy, lung function and nursing satisfaction of patients with Influenza-A(H1N1). Method: This was application research. Eighty patients with influenza-A (H1N1) admitted to The First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University from January 2020 to December 2022 were included as subjects and randomly divided into the observation group(n=40) and the control group(n=40). Patients in the control group were given routine basic nursing intervention, while those in the observation group were treated with combined psychological intervention in addition to basic nursing. The differences in treatment compliance, self-care ability, clinical efficacy, lung function and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results: After the intervention, the treatment compliance score and the total self-care ability score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). After treatment, the clinical efficacy of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, no significant difference was observed between the two groups in terms of various indexes of lung function, which were better in the observation group than in the control group after treatment(P<0.05). Conclusion: Basic nursing combined with psychological intervention results in a variety of benefits in the treatment of patients with Influenza-A(H1N1), such as improved treatment compliance and self-care ability, ameliorated lung function, as well as enhanced treatment outcomes and nursing satisfaction, which needs to be promoted in clinical practice. Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) is one of the most important renal replacement therapies for patients with end-stage renal disease. However, long-term and frequent treatment not only damages the physiological functions of patients but also leads to serious economic burdens and mental stress. This can easily cause a series of psychological disorders in patients, resulting in severe rejection and fear of MHD. To reduce patient resistance and improve the quality of life of MHD, this article built an intelligent nursing system based on big data and then used the constructed intelligent nursing system to research MHD. Through experiments, it has been found that compared to self-efficacy intervention, intelligent nursing systems can control the concurrent rate of MHD patients below 14 %, and self-efficacy intervention methods can control the concurrent rate of MHD patients above 13 %. Moreover, using intelligent nursing systems can improve the ability of MHD patients to self-care. At the same time, before the use of intelligent nursing systems, the nursing satisfaction of MHD patients also varied greatly, with the overall satisfaction rate after use being 70 % higher than before. Using intelligent nursing systems can improve the satisfaction of MHD patients with nursing outcomes.

Objective: This study was conducted to analyze the effectiveness of multidisciplinary cooperative continuous nursing combined with psychological nursing intervention in multiple myeloma (MM) patients undergoing peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC). Methods: The Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), Anxiety Self-Assessment Scale (SAS), Depression Self-Assessment Scale (SDS) and Revised Piper Fatigue Scale (PFS-R), Self-Care Ability Scale (ESCA), Quality of Life Core Questionnaire (QLQ-C30), incidence of unplanned extubation of PICC, total incidence of catheter-related complications and satisfaction with nursing were compared between the two groups of patients in a prospective study. Results: Patients in the observation group had reduced NPRS, SAS, SDS and PFS-R scores, total incidence of unplanned extubation of PICC and the total incidence of catheter-related complications, and a higher nursing satisfaction rate in comparison to those in the control group. Infections caused by multi-drug resistant organisms(MDRO)is one of the most common nosocomial infection worldwide. Scientific nursing interventions are effective to reduce the incidence of MDRO infection in patients and improve patient satisfaction during treatment. It is also crucial to improve the awareness and importance of MDRO infection among nursing staff, in order to take targeted nursing measures to reduce the incidence of MDRO infection and improve patient satisfaction. This article reviewed studies on the integrated Traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing in prevention and treatment of MDRO infection, and provided reference for clinical prevention and control of MDRO infection. ObjectiveTo explore the effects of comprehensive nursing during treatment on incidence of complications and nursing satisfaction in patients with neuromyelitis optica （NMO）. MethodsA total of 96 NMO patients admitted to Beijing Tiantan Hospital from June 2020 to May 2022 were selected and randomly divided into control group （with routine nursing, n=48） and observation group （with comprehensive nursing, n=48）. The functional disability, daily living ability, self-management behavior, incidence of complications and nursing satisfaction were compared between two groups. ResultsAfter nursing, the extended disability status scale （EDSS） score in observation group was significantly lower than that in control group and before nursing （P＜0.05）, and the Barthel index （BI） score and self-management behaviors score were significantly higher than those in control group and before nursing （P＜0.05）. In observation group, the total nursing satisfaction （95.83%vs77.08%, χ2=7.207, P=0.007） significantly increased, and the incidence of complications （6.25%vs 20.83%, χ2=4.359, P=0.037） significantly decreased compared with those in control group. ConclusionComprehensive nursing is more conducive to restoring neurological function and activities of daily living, improving the self-management behaviors and the nursing satisfaction of patients and reducing the occurrence of complications.

The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of clinical nursing pathway on the clinical symptoms, hip function and nursing satisfaction of male patients who undergo artificial hip replacement. A total of 102 male patients who had artificial hip arthroplasty and were admitted to the West China Hospital of Sichuan University were recruited. Participants were randomly divided into the study group (given clinical nursing pathway) and the control group (given routine nursing intervention). The hospitalization time, treatment cost, symptom checklist, nursing satisfaction and hip function score of the two groups were observed and compared. The hospitalization time and treatment cost of the study group were significantly lesser than those of the control group (p < 0.05). Both groups showed significant improvement in the scores of the symptom checklist, but the study group had significantly lower scores than the control group. Similarly, on the day of discharge, there was no significant difference in hip joint function scores between the two groups of patients. However, 30 days after surgery, the hip joint function scores of both groups of patients was remarkably improved (p < 0.05), yet, this improvement is significantly higher in the study group. The nursing satisfaction of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was significant (p < 0.05). The total incidence of complications in the study group was lower than the control group (5.88%, vs. 23.53%, p < 0.05). The clinical nursing pathway could effectively improve the clinical symptoms of male patients undergoing artificial hip arthroplasty, promote the recovery of hip joint function, and significantly improve the clinical nursing satisfaction. Therefore, it is one of the reliable schemes in the clinical practice of patients undergoing artificial hip arthroplasty.

Objective To explore the construction and implementation effect of humanistic care with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing interventions in orthopedic wards. Methods Totally 120 hospitalized patients with orthopedic diseases were randomly divided into the control group and observation group, with 60 cases in each group. All patients receive routine nursing during hospital stay, and those in the observation group were given humanistic care with TCM nursing interventions including TCM techniques, emotional care and dietary guidance. A self-made humanistic care needs questionnaire was used to investigate the patient satisfaction with nursing service. Results Nursing satisfaction rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with a significant difference (P＜0. 05). Conclusion The establishment of TCM humanistic care and nursing model in the orthopedic ward can improve patient satisfaction by identifying the needs of patients for humanistic care, taking advantages of TCM nursing and providing targeted and individualized humanistic care. Aim: The study aimed to explore the perceptions of intensive care unit staff deployed to other clinical areas. It also aimed to identify challenges that the staff face during their redeployment. Design: A mixed method study. Method: 40 participants (nurses and healthcare assistants) completed an anonymous online questionnaire, and five participants (nurses) participated in one-to-one semi-structured interviews. Participants were recruited through purposive sampling from the selected ICU/HDU. Results: Content analysis of the data revealed three major themes: "Negative feelings of redeployment", "Positive feelings of redeployment" and "Visible and Structured leadership interventions". Results indicate that ICU nursing management needs to make some additional efforts and implement the study recommendations to improve the overall perception and experience of ICU/HDU staff redeployment. Public Contribution: This research will create insight into the redeployment of intensive care unit staff to other clinical areas. At a large academic level 1 trauma center, an additional resource was added at night, the Critical Care Resource Intensivist (CCRI), which is a multi-disciplinary group of fellowship trained intensivists. Prior to implementation of this additional resource, concurrent to implementation and one-year post implementation, critical care (CC) nurses that provide care in the surgical, neurologic, medical, and cardiac intensive care units (ICU) were anonymously surveyed to evaluate the CCRI model from a nursing perspective. Survey results were aggregated via an electronic cloud-based survey tool. Our goal was to obtain qualitative data to inform hypothesis generation and quality improvement questions. As such, we collected free-text answers to the questions, "Do you ever have concerns about availability of faculty in the ICU?" and, "Do you have any suggestions or comments after implementation of CCRI?" Answers were categorized into pre- and postCCRI strata. When coding the data, the investigators found a total of 9 themes that connected all the free-text survey. The themes included faculty accessibility, nurse safety, satisfaction, continuum of care and patient safety, to name a few. CCRI was uniformly and unanimously felt to improve patient care and decrease provider stress, because of improved availability and responsiveness of cc-faculty. The need to expand the CCRI model across institutional campuses was also stated clearly within their responses. These surveys demonstrate the strong support for the CCRI model by CC nurse providers. Aim: A discussion of empathy and compassion including patient and nursing perspectives, barriers and enablers, and the potential for development, teachability, and sustainability of empathy and compassion in nursing. Background: Whilst compassion and empathy have long been recognised as prerequisites for the provision of effective nursing care, there are many interpretations of their meanings and the two are often transposed. The presence or absence of compassionate and empathetic nursing care has multiple positive and negative effects on nursing satisfaction and retention and on patients' experiences and health outcomes. Design: Discussion paper. Data Sources: Embase, Emcare, Medline, ProQuest, and PubMed were searched from 1 January 2015 to 16 January 2023 for scholarly journals with full text articles in the English language. Conclusion: Compassion and empathy are sine qua non in the provision of nursing care. Empathy is a core component of compassion. Compassion and empathy may be innate characteristics, but they can also be taught and fostered through education both pre- and post-graduation, which is based on experiential rather than didactic methods of teaching. Organisations have a pivotal role in supporting a compassionate environment through their leadership by developing policies and practices to ensure appropriate staffing levels, having consideration for skill mix and workload which will facilitate the provision of compassionate and empathetic nursing care leading to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction, and also increase nursing job satisfaction and retention. Implications for research, policy, and practice: Pre- and post-graduate nurses in particular, should have access to targeted education and support from peers, senior nurses, and educators, especially positive role modelling. For all nurses to be able to provide compassionate care, it is important that organisations' leadership and management recognises the time required to do so without pressure to complete clinical tasks. Indisputably, the prevailing clinical implication is that reducing staffing shortfalls and excessive workloads is essential to foster a compassionate environment. Objective Using Benson’s relaxation training to reduce the physical tension and anxiety of elderly patients with glioma after surgery, improve the quality of sleep, relieve fatigue, and improve the satisfaction of patients during hospitalization. Methods A total of 100 elderly glioma patients admitted to the hospital from April to October 2022 were studied. They were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing measures, and the observation group was given Benson’s relaxation training on the basis of postoperative routine care. After 4 weeks, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), revised-Piper Fatigue Scale (PFS-R) and patient nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results After 4 weeks of intervention, total score of PSQI and R-PFS in the observation group was lower than that in the control group respectively(P＜0. 01). The score of patient satisfaction in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0. 01). Conclusion Benson’s relaxation training can effectively improve the sleep quality of elderly glioma patients, reduce the degree of fatigue, improve nursing satisfaction. Objective To explore the design and application effect of path-based health education form for inpatients in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology. Methods A health education group in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology was established. By reviewing literature, consulting experts, oriented by patient needs, and combining clinical pathways, a path-based health education form for inpatients was formulated. Homogeneous training and examination were conducted to nurses. Totally 1 047 patients admitted to hospital from September 2021 to February 2022 were selected, and the patients' health knowledge, patient satisfaction and nurses' satisfaction with application of path-based health education form were measured. Results After the path-based health education form was used, the implementation rate of various health education including admission guidance, dietary guidance, activities, medication guidance and discharge guidance reached 100. 00% during the patient's stay in the hospital, and the satisfaction of patients and nurses was significantly improved (P＜0. 01). The mastery rate of diet knowledge, activities, disease and medication knowledge were increased significantly after implementation of path-based health education form (P＜0. 01). Conclusion The application of the path-based health education form in inpatients could improve the effect of health education, enhance the nursing quality, and increase working efficiency. To explore the application value and role of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) management mode in nursing quality and safety management of radiology department. The clinical data of 320 patients were analyzed retrospectively and were divided into control group and study group. For the control group, 160 patients received routine nursing. For the observation group, 160 patients underwent PDCA circulation nursing management. The scores for nursing quality management, the nursing satisfaction, waiting time, and adverse event occurrence for the radiology department were recorded and analyzed between 2 groups. Compared with the control group, the scores for nursing quality management and the nursing satisfaction of the radiology department were significantly increased (all p <.05), while waiting time and adverse event occurrence were obviously decreased (all p <.05). Significantly statistical differences were observed between the 2 groups. Applying PDCA management to the nursing safety management of radiology department can effectively improve the nursing quality and safety management, improve the nursing satisfaction, and reduce waiting time and adverse event occurrence. PDCA management would exert great potential, and application value in the management of radiology department in the future. • It is necessary to constantly strengthen the management of nursing safety in radiology department to reduce injuries caused by medical errors. • The new nursing mode based on PDCA can effectively improve the nursing quality and safety of the radiology department, elevate patient satisfaction, and reduce waiting time and adverse event occurrence. • The new model of PDCA circulation nursing management is worthy of clinical promotion. OBJECTIVE: The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of applying multidisciplinary collaborative nursing process (MCNP) in the emergency care of patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A total of 124 patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage admitted to Qinghai University Affiliated Hospital from January 2020 to January 2021 was divided into control group (treated with regular emergency care, n=64) and study group (treated with MNCP, n=58). The effect of emergency treatment was compared between the two groups. RESULTS: Compared to the control group, initial treatment time, time of opening peripheral veins, first blood drawing time, time of imaging examination, emergency room treatment time, and hospital stay time were lower in MCNP group, the difference was significant (p<0.05). There were significant differences in Functional Independence Assessment (FIM) and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scale scores between the control group and the MCNP group in treatment for 1 week in hospital (p<0.05). The level of total bile acid (TBA) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) in the MCNP group were significantly lower than in the control group (p<0.05). The nursing satisfaction in MCNP was also improved compared to that in the control group (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: MCNP enhances the rational improvement of patients' awareness, improves the comprehensive quality of emergency treatments and optimizes prognosis; therefore, it is worthy of clinical promotion and application. This research was designed to investigate the effects of hydromorphone combined with ropivacaine anesthesia on brachial plexus block of upper limbs in children. This was a randomized prospective study. A total of 120 children with upper limb fractures were included in this study and treated wtih open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF). The children were randomized into control group and research group. All of them were given a brachial plexus block and anesthetics (control group: 0.2% ropivacaine; research group: additional 5 μg/kg hydromorphone. The time of onset and exercise recovery of the research group increased, and the use times of analgesic drugs decreased, which were significantly different from those of the control group (all P <.05). Hydromorphone can enhance the effectiveness of ropivacaine in blocking the brachial plexus and reduce postoperative pain and the demand for analgesics. Objective To explore the effect of application of standardized nursing program in transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Methods A total of 395 patients who underwent TEE examination in our department from September 2019 to February 2020 were enrolled and assigned into the control group and received routine nursing. Another 479 patients receiving TEE examination from March to August 2020 were assigned into the observation group, and standardized nursing was implemented. Patient's satisfaction, success rate and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the 2 groups. Results The satisfaction rate of patients was significantly improved (P < 0.01), and the incidence of adverse reactions was significantly reduced in the observation group (P < 0.01). The success rate of TEE examination was similar, and no serious complications such as esophageal perforation and massive bleeding were observed in the 2 groups. Conclusion Implementation of standardized nursing plan during TEE examination is of great significance to improve patient's satisfaction and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.

Background: To explore the effect of high-quality nursing model based on hope theory in endometrial cancer patients. Methods: The patients (n = 120) with endometrial cancer who underwent surgical treatment in hospital from October 2017 to October 2019 were divided into the study group and control group using the random number table method. The patients received usual care in the control group, and received high-quality nursing based on hope theory in the study group. Then, the degree of pain, fatigue, anxiety and depression were evaluated using visual analogue scale (VAS), chronic pain self-efficacy scale (CPSS), cancer fatigue scale (RPFS), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS). The hope level and coping style were assessed using Herth hope scale (HHI) and summary coping style questionnaire (SCSQ). The quality of life was assessed using Medical Outcomes Study item short from health survey (SF-36). Moreover, nursing satisfaction was compared using homemade questionnaire. Results: The results showed that VAS score, RPFS score, SDS score and passive coping score of SCSQ questionnaire in the study group were lower than those in the control group (p < 0.05). CPSS score, HHI score, positive coping score of SCSQ questionnaire, nursing satisfaction and SF-36 scores in all dimensions in the study group were higher than those in the control group (p < 0.05). Discussion: The high-quality nursing model based on hope theory could ameliorate patients’ pain and fatigue, enhance their self-efficacy, guide patients to face problems positively, improve their life quality and hope level. Conclusion: It has higher nursing satisfaction in endometrial cancer.

Objective To investigate the learning needs of communication training between Intensive Care Unit(ICU) nurses and patients families in Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Methods The Department of Critical Care Medicine of Peking Union Medical College Hospital distributed questionnaires to 143 nurses working in the department, and scored whether nurses had negative experience in communicating with patients'families, confidence in building harmonious relationship and the need for training. Results A total of 138 questionnaires were obtained. 46.4% of nurses in ICU think they sometimes or often encounter negative experiences in their work. Only 30.4% of nurses were very confident or confident in their communication skills. As much as 83.3% of nurses believed that they should be trained in communication with patients family members. Conclusions Communication training is very important for intensive care nurses.

Objective: To explore the effects of whole-course standardized nursing and humanistic care on the sleep condition, psychological status and quality of life of elderly patients undergoing total hysterectomy for cervical cancer. Methods: 104 elderly patients admitted to our hospital from September 2017 to September 2019 were evenly divided into observation and control groups according to the random number table method. The observation group was given standardized whole-course nursing and humanistic care, while the control group was given routine nursing care. The sleep quality, negative emotions, quality of life, incidence of complications and nursing satisfaction of the two groups were observed. Results: Affter intervention, the time used to fall asleep in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group (P<0.05), while the duration of continuous sleep and total sleep were both longer in the observation group (P<0.05). The results for the scores of the scales for evaluating the sleep quality, negative emotions, quality of life, and level of hope also showed that, in the perioperative period, the nursing efffect of the wholecourse standardized nursing and humanistic care was significantly improved. Conclusion: The patients' sleep condition, negative emotions, quality of life and level of hope were significantly improved. In addition, the incidence of postoperative complications was low, and the nursing satisfaction of the patients was high, so this nursing strategy is worthy of clinical application. Objective To study the construction, the prevention and treatment effect of the intensive nursing plan of oral mucositis caused by chemotherapy in acute leukemia. Methods 100 patients newly diagnosed as acute leukemia chemotherapy in the Dept. of Hematology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University were selected from October 2019 to October 2020 to carry out this study. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the observation group and the control group, with 50 cases in each.The control group was given routine preventive care, and the observation group was given intensive care on the basis of the control group. After the nursing intervention, the general data（before the intervention), the incidence of oral inflammation infection, the OMDQ score, the psychological state score and the nursing satisfaction of the two groups were evaluated and compared. Results There was no significant difference between the two groups（P > 0.05). After the nursing intervention，the infection rate of oral mucosa in the observation group was 32.00%（16/50), which was lower than that in the control group 52.00%（26/50). The difference between the two groups was statistically significant（P < 0.05). After the nursing intervention, the scores of OMDQ， SAS and SDS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group（P < 0.05). The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was 90.00%（45/50)，which was higher than that of the control group 74.00%（37/50). There was significant difference between the two groups（P < 0.05). Conclusion Through the construction of cluster nursing intervention program, the effect of nursing intervention on the oral mucositis caused by chemotherapy of acute leukemia is good, which can reduce the incidence of patients with oral inflammation infection, improve the patients' quality of life score, bad psychological state, and improve the patients' nursing satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to verify the factors influencing the happiness index for elderly patients hospitalized in nursing hospitals with a structural model. A survey was conducted on 237 people in 6 nursing hospitals in G city from July 1 to August 15, 2018, and analyzed with SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 programs. As a result of the research, the direct effect on the happiness index is the greatest factor, Next, perceived health status, economic status, and nursing satisfaction are in order, and the explanatory power is 66%. Both direct and indirect economic conditions were found to have a significant effect, and hospitalization period only had indirect effects through helplessness and nursing satisfaction. Bar-code medication administration has been shown to reduce medication errors in inpatient settings with limited studies on its use in emergency departments. In addition, no studies have evaluated nursing satisfaction with implementing bar-code medication administration in an emergency department. This study was designed to determine the impact of implementing bar-code medication administration in an emergency department on medication errors and nursing satisfaction. This is a before-and-after study, with no control group, of a bar-code medication administration intervention conducted in a community hospital emergency department. Direct observation was used to compare medication error rates before and 3 months after implementing bar-code medication administration. The Medication Administration System—Nurses Assessment of Satisfaction survey was used to assess the impact on nursing satisfaction before and 1 month after bar-code medication administration implementation. A total of 676 medication administrations were observed in the period before bar-code medication administration implementation and 656 after. The medication administration error rate preimplementation was 2.96% with "wrong dose" errors being the most common. After bar-code medication administration implementation, the medication administration error rate fell to 0.76%, a relative reduction of 74.2% (Fisher exact P < 0.01). The average (SD) Medication Administration System—Nurses Assessment of Satisfaction score preimplementation was 2.60 (0.75) and improved to 2.29 (0.66) (t = 2.00, P = 0.05) 1 month post implementation. Implementing bar-code medication administration in a community emergency department was associated with a decrease in medication administration errors and an improvement in Medication Administration System—Nurses Assessment of Satisfaction scores. The results of this study suggest a benefit of bar-code medication administration in reducing medication administration errors and improved nursing satisfaction in the emergency department. To explore the clinical value of strengthening early rehabilitation nursing intervention in the surgical treatment of multilevel lumbar degeneration assisted by microscope. Sixty patients with multilevel lumbar degeneration who were treated in our hospital from January 2017 to June 2019 were selected. All patients underwent microscopically assisted multilevel lumbar degeneration surgery. According to the principle of random grouping, the patients were divided into observation group (early rehabilitation nursing intervention) and control group (routine nursing) with 30 persons each. The excellent rate of treatment, improvement of pain symptoms, nursing satisfaction and complications were compared between the two groups. Compared with the control group (76.67%), the total effective rate of treatment in the observation group (90.00%) was higher (P<0.05); before intervention, there was no significant difference in pain scores between the two groups (P>0.05). After intervention, the VAS (4.09±1.37), VRS (24.45 ±1.29) and PPI (2.39±0.22) scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05); At the same time, compared with the control group (73.33%), the nursing satisfaction of the observation group (93.33%) was higher (P<0.05), and the complication rate of the observation group (6.67%) was lower than that of the control group (26.67%) (P<0.05). Summary: Objective: To compare the application effects of venous indwelling needles and intravenous infusion with steel needles in pediatric outpatient care and to observe the complications of the two approaches. Methods: A total of 110 children who received intravenous infusions in our hospital from March 2018 to May 2018 were selected as study subjects. Children were assigned to an observation group (n = 55) or a control group (n = 55) based on a random number table, of which the children in the control group received intravenous infusion with the steel needles while the children in the observation group received intravenous infusion with indwelling needles. Their mental states were rationally evaluated by the state-trait anxiety inventory (STAI) and modified Yale preoperative anxiety score (MYPAS) in the two groups. At the same time, the total number of punctures in 3 days of infusion, complications and the parents' satisfaction with nursing service were compared between the two groups. Results: The difference in STAI and MYPAS scores was statistically significant between the two groups (P < 0.05). The difference in the total number of punctures on the first day was not statistically significant (P > 0.05) between the two groups, but the difference in the total number of punctures on the second day and the third day was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Besides this, the incidence of complications in the observation group was less than that in the control group, and the nursing satisfaction in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The children's psychological impacts are relatively small when comparing the venous indwelling needle with the steel needle. Background: Medication management is a complex process with multiple stages that involves different health care teams. Based on the evidence, an electronic medication management system offers significant benefits, such as reduced medication errors, improved conformity, enhanced time and cost efficiency, and increased patient safety. This study aimed to design and implement an electronic medication management system and measure the nurse’s satisfaction regarding the application of this system. Methods: In this technical action research, the nurses' satisfaction with the use of the designed system was evaluated. The electronic medication system development and data collection were conducted in two phases. The first phase included the design and development of an electronic nursing medication management system to be used in the neonatal intensive care unit. The second phase involved the evaluation of the nurses’ satisfaction with the use of the electronic system by applying a five-point Likert scale questionnaire. Results: The findings were divided into two categories, including results related to the design of the electronic systems and those regarding the evaluation of nurses’ satisfaction with the use of the electronic systems. The design of the electronic system was successful as the nurse's satisfaction evaluation revealed a high level of satisfaction with the use of the system. Conclusion: Electronic medication management system has more practical advantages than other similar systems. This system helps the nurses to identify and prevent many medication errors and save time in drug care documentation. Therefore, this system is a big step towards satisfaction with nursing medication care.

Objective: To study the effect of nursing intervention derived from Snyder's hope theory in individuals with spinal cord injury., Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical data of 80 patients with spinal cord injury who were admitted to General Hospital of Pingxiang Mining Group Co., from August 2021 to October 2023. According to different nursing methods, they were assigned into a control group (n = 40, routine curative care) and an observation group (n = 40, routine curative care plus nursing intervention derived from Snyder's hope theory). The two groups were compared in terms of emotional state, level of hope, living standard, occurrence of complications, and nursing satisfaction. According to the occurrence of complications after nursing, the patients were divided into a good prognosis group and a poor prognosis group, and the influencing factors for prognosis were analyzed by univariate analysis and logistic multivariate analysis., Results: After nursing, the anxiety and depression scores decreased in both groups when compared to their pre-nursing scores, with lower scores in the observation group than in the controls (P<0.05). Also, the observation group exhibited significantly higher score of hope, higher score of quality of life, and lower occurrence of complications when compared to the control group (P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction rate in the observation group was 95.00% (38/40), which was noticeably greater than 65.00% (26/40) in the control group (P<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that nursing methods (P = 0.007, OR = 7.828, 95% CI: 1.766-34.688) and HB after intervention (P = 0.029, OR = 0.965, 95% CI: 0.935-0.996) were the influencing factors of complications after nursing intervention in patients with SCI., Conclusion: The implementation of nursing intervention derived from Snyder's hope theory can decrease the anxiety and depression levels, lower the occurrence of complications, enhance the hope level, increase the satisfaction rate, and improve the overall quality of life in patients with spinal cord injury., Competing Interests: None., (AJTR Copyright © 2024.)

Aim: To assess the effect of refined management in the operating room nursing on surgical efficiency and nursing satisfaction during laparoscopic radical resection of colon cancer., Methods: In this retrospective study, 100 patients with laparoscopic radical resection of colon cancer were enrolled into this study. There were 51 patients who received refined management (the observation group) and 49 patients who received routine nursing intervention (the control group). The effect of refined management in the operating room nursing was evaluated by comparing the surgical efficiency, quality of care ratings, pain scores, and the nursing satisfaction between the two groups., Results: The preoperative preparation time, surgical time, intraoperative bleeding volume, and time to first postoperative defecation in the observation group were all less than those in the control group after nursing intervention (all P<0.05). The observation group had higher scores than the control group in five categories: operating room environment and safety, drug and instrument management, hygiene and sterilization, nursing records, and nursing professionalism (all P<0.05). The numerical rating scale (NRS) pain scores of the patients in the observation group were lower than those of the control group at 12, 24, and 48 hours postoperatively (all P<0.05). The rate of satisfaction in the observation group was 96.1%. This was higher than the 91.8% in the control group (P<0.05). Abstract Background Nurses and other non-physician providers have demonstrated proficiency at obtaining images in the tele-ultrasound system. However, use of this skill requires comfort with the procedure and willingness to incorporate it into practice. Objectives To assess 1) level of comfort of non-physician providers performing tele-ultrasound before and after brief training and 2) feasibility of implementing an educational programme that improves level of comfort. Methods Feasibility study including a brief training session followed by hands-on tele-ultrasound. The pilot cohort performed tele-ultrasound on a healthy volunteer. The clinical cohort performed tele-ultrasound on criticalli ill patients with shock or respiratory failure. Remote intensivists provided real-time guidance via tele-medicine technology. Each participant completed a survey assessing training experience and level of comfort before and after training. Results Sixteen non-physician providers participated. All participants agreed that the training session prepared them for image acquisition and that the training experience was positive. The number of participants comfortable with ultrasound improved significantly (before vs. after training: 5/16 [31%] vs. 16/16 [100%], mean Likert score 2.7 vs. 4.8, p = 0.001). Conclusions After brief training, participants could comfortably perform tele-ultrasound and were more willing to incorporate it into tele-ICU-directed care. Pathology specimen labeling errors occur for a variety of reasons. We investigated the use of barcode technology as a method to improve the accuracy of pathology specimen labeling and patient safety. We also assessed nurses' perceptions of system quality, information quality, service quality, user satisfaction, and net benefits. Sixty‐eight perioperative nurses who work in a teaching hospital in Taiwan completed the survey. Nurses scored net benefits as highly contributing to their satisfaction, whereas system quality contributed most to dissatisfaction. Further, we analyzed pathology specimen records before and after implementing the barcode system and found that specimen management errors significantly decreased. Objective To explore the effectiveness of the team resource management model in shortening DNT in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods Eighty-seven patients with acute ischemic stroke treated in our hospital fromMay 2017 to May 2018 were selected as the control group and 86 patients with acute ischemic stroke in resource management mode were treated as the observation group. DNT time，ability of daily living at the time of discharge and nursing satisfaction in the the two groups were compared. Families of children, adolescents, and young adults with a new oncology diagnosis must absorb knowledge and skills needed to care for their child at home during a period of emergent hospitalizations and intense medical interventions. Effective nurse-led teaching and discharge planning begun at diagnosis can prepare families to safely care for their child following discharge, and be a source of satisfaction. The objective of this performance improvement initiative was to increase family and nurse satisfaction with new diagnosis education and discharge. Using standard performance improvement techniques, family and nursing stakeholder satisfaction with current processes was assessed. Working from established best practice and literature review; The Road to Home was designed and implemented. This novel, comprehensive program includes a visual, interactive display of required education based on the Children’s Oncology Group Family Handbook© and hospital specific discharge materials; standardized teaching, tools and documentation for nursing; and caregiver discharge tool kits. Stakeholder input guided improvement strategies throughout the phases of implementation. Sustained increases in family and nurse satisfaction resulted from each phase. The Road to Home program is established for all families of newly diagnosed oncology patients and is meeting goals of increased family and nurse satisfaction with discharge education. Objective To explore the effect of stratified chain nursing model on the efficacy， symptom improvement and nursing satisfaction in pediatric pneumonia nursing. Methods 58 cases of pediatric pneumonia in our hospital from March 2015 to March 2016 were selected as the control group. 58 cases of pediatric pneumonia in our hospital fromApril to April 2017 were selected as observation group. After 2 weeks of care，the two groups were compared in the curative effect， the symptoms improved and the nursing satisfaction. Results The total effective rate of the two groups was significantly higher than that of the control group （P ＜0.05） . The disappearance time of fever， the time of disappearance of cough， the time of disappearance of lung rales and the time of hospitalization were shorter than those of the control group， the difference was statistically significant （P ＜0.05） . Patient experience is a vital component of quality health care. In our institution we sought to improve both nursing satisfaction and collaboration, in conjunction with improving patient experience, predicting the two are directly proportional. We hypothesized that a more satisfied nursing team would result in an overall improvement in patient experience. To explore this hypothesis, we implemented multiple process changes to create an advanced practitioner-directed floor (APDF) on our 28-bed trauma, medical-surgical unit. These changes included advanced practitioner (AP) 24-hr coverage, implementation of trauma patient information packets, consistent daily rounds with the nurse facilitator and/or bedside registered nurse (RN), and increased floor presence of the AP, to facilitate improved communication between the multidisciplinary team. Nursing satisfaction surveys, postdischarge patient telephone debriefings, and patient Press Ganey scores were analyzed to assess nursing satisfaction, as well as patient satisfaction pre- and postimplemented changes. Our findings demonstrated that, following APDF implementation, RNs felt more respected, stated that the trauma team was more collaborative, and, in addition, overall patient and nursing satisfaction improved. Aim The objective of this study was to identify the satisfaction levels of nurses with positive environment initiatives and positive management strategies. Method In total, 235 and 259 nurses participated in the study before and after the application of the initiatives and strategies, respectively. Strategies adopted from the magnet model to create positive work environments and management styles were executed according to the forces of magnetism. Data related to satisfaction were collected twice, once before and once after the strategies to create positive working environments were implemented. Results The rates of working environment satisfaction in the nurses' department were 57.07% in 2011 and 69.01% in 2013. The rate of satisfaction with governance differed significantly between 2011 and 2013, especially in terms of the merit system, equity and equality, information flow between the administration and the employees, and the influence of the nursing managers on institutional decision making. Conclusion This study showed that 24 months after the implementation of these strategies, nurse satisfaction with their work environment and management style increased significantly. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide basic research material necessary for the establishment of comprehensive nursing service units, through a comparative analysis of inpatient satisfaction with nursing between comprehensive nursing service and general units and the work stress of nurses. Methods: The survey participants were inpatients and nurses from 3 general hospitals in Busan, including 6 units, 123 nurses and 220 patients. Date collection was done through March and April 2016. Collected data were analyzed using test and independent t-test with SPSS 23 Win program. Results: Inpatients on comprehensive nursing service units had higher scores for satisfaction than inpatients on general units. There was no statistically significant difference in nurses' work stress between the two types of units. Conclusion: The findings indicate that although inpatient satisfaction with comprehensive nursing service units is higher than for general units, work stress for nurses is comparatively high for both types of units. While it is necessary to expand the implementation of comprehensive nursing service units, an institutional strategy for reducing nurses' work stress is required if the expansion is to be successful.. Aim: This is a research report examining the influence of organizational politics perceptions on nurses' work outcomes (job satisfaction, work stress, job burnout and turnover intention). Background: Organizational politics is a phenomenon common in almost all institutions and is linked with undesirable consequences in employees. Introduction: Despite the plethora of research around the world on this topic, studies describing organizational politics in nursing remain underexplored. Methods: A cross‐sectional research design was utilized in this study. One hundred sixty‐six (166) nurses participated. Five standardized tools were used: the Job Satisfaction Index, the Job Stress Scale, the Burnout Measure Scale, the Turnover Intention Inventory Scale and the Perception of Organizational Politics Scale. Results: Nurses employed both in private and government‐owned hospitals perceived moderate levels of organizational politics. Positive correlations were identified between perceived organizational politics and job stress, turnover intention and job burnout. Negative correlations were found between perceived organizational politics and job satisfaction. Discussion: Perceptions of workplace politics in Filipino nurses were lower when compared to findings in other international studies. A strong link was found between organizational politics perceptions and the four job outcomes (stress and burnout levels, turnover intention and job satisfaction). Limitations: Use of a self‐reporting questionnaire and exclusion of nurses from other provinces. Conclusion: Perceived organizational politics predicted nurses’ stress and burnout levels, turnover intention and job satisfaction. Implications for nursing and/or health policy: The findings of this study may provide a valuable perspective of this organizational issue and could assist policymakers and nurse administrators in formulating interventions that could minimize the effect of workplace politics. Objective To investigate the effect of establishment of the clinical service center on discharged patients' satisfaction with nursing service in a certain grass-roots hospital, and to provide reference for quality improvement of nursing practice. Methods A clinical service center was established to improve the discharged patients' satisfaction with nursing service in a certain grass-roots hospital. A questionnaire survey of patients' satisfaction was conducted in March, April, May and July 2018, respectively. Results The total score for satisfaction survey in July 2018 was higher than that in March, April and May 2018, respectively (P <0.05). Conclusion The establishment of clinical service center is helpful to improve the discharged patients' satisfaction with nursing service. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
