Leafy vegetables were conducted in the Rangpur city corporation of Bangladesh from October 2019 to December 2021. There were 44 species identified, divided into 33 genera and 20 families. Out of the recorded species, 69.44% were herbs followed by climbers (18.18%), shrubs (11.11%) and trees (2.27%) respectively. In the research area, wild species made up 34.09% of the total, while cultivated species made up 65.91%. The current investigation revealed that traditional knowledge about the use of wild vegetables is in urgent need of documentation as part of intangible cultural heritage. To meet the dietary demands of Rangpur city corporation residents, the use and cultivation of these leafy vegetables should be encouraged. The study can provide baseline data that can be used to prioritize conservation efforts through resource management that is both sustainable and environmentally friendly. In Rangpur City Corporation, major medicinal leafy vegetables were carried out. Thirty seven (37) therapeutic plants have been identified, with their usefulness for the treatment of over 40 ailments were recorded. The current study found that medicinal plants continue to play a significant role in rural communities. The information acquired from local traditional healers will be beneficial for further ethnobotany, taxonomy, and drug development studies using natural resources.

The present article focused on aquatic vascular plants diversity and their conservation status in natural and manmade wetlands habitats of Sadullapur Gaibandha. The study was conducted in between May 2019 to June 2020. A total of 52 aquatic plant species was recorded from Sadullapur Gaibandha in the present study. These are assigned to 35 genera under 30 families. For each species scientific name, local name, family, division, habit, habitat, use and status are provided. Ecological habitats analysis of aquatics shows variations. Among them, 37% species prefers to grow near the edge of water, 13% submerged, 11% as emergent, 11% as free floating and 28% as rooted floating in the aquatic habitat. In case of submerged species, they produce flowers on surface of the water. After pollination fruits remain under water up to maturation. Among them, 49% species used as fodder, 22% as medicinal, 4% as aquarium purpose, 9% as vegetable, 6% as edible, 10% as fish food in the study area. The population number of different aquatic plant species in habitats is not uniform. Overall analysis showed that 46% aquatic plant species in the study area found to be rare, 44% species found common and 10% species found as abundant. This status of aquatic plant species is very preliminary. Based on field observations and discussion with local people we are able to identify a good number of rare aquatic plants and also pointed some conservation measures for them in future. The investigation recorded a number of rare aquatic plant species from the study area. These areTrapa bispinosa(Singara),Nelumbo nucifera(Paddo),Nymphaea pubescens(Sada shapla),Oenanthe javanica(Panidhone),Nymphaea rubra(Lal shapla),Ottelia alismoides(Panikola),Enhydra fluctuans(Titidata) andCentrostachys aquatica(Thuash). Populations of such species in the wild are very rare because of local demand for the use. These species need to be cared for conservation.

The TP53 R337H mutation is associated with increased incidence of pediatric adrenocortical tumor (ACT). The different environmental conditions where R337H carriers live have not been systematically analyzed. Here, the R337H frequencies, ACT incidences, and R337H penetrance for ACT were calculated using the 2006 cohort with 4165 R337H carriers living in Paran&aacute, state (PR) subregions. The effectiveness of a second surveillance for R337H probands selected from 42,438 tested newborns in PR (2016 cohort) was tested to detect early stage I tumor among educated families without periodical exams. Estimation of R337H frequencies and ACT incidence in Santa Catarina state (SC) used data from 50,115 tested newborns without surveillance, ACT cases from a SC hospital, and a public cancer registry. R337H carrier frequencies in the population were 0.245% (SC) and 0.306% (PR), and 87% and 95% in ACTs, respectively. The ACT incidence was calculated as ~6.4/million children younger than 10 years per year in PR (95% CI: 5.28, 7.65) and 4.15/million in SC (CI 95%: 2.95, 5.67). The ACT penetrance in PR for probands followed from birth to 12 years was 3.9%. R337H carriers living in an agricultural subregion (C1) had a lower risk of developing pediatric ACT than those living in industrial and large urban subregion (relative risk = 2.4). One small ACT (21g) without recurrence (1/112) was detected by the parents in the 2016 cohort. ACT incidence follows R337H frequency in each population, but remarkably environmental factors modify these rates.

Dasatinib (DAS) is a well tolerated oral dual SRC inhibitor with remarkable activity against all phases of imatinib-resistant chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). This paper focuses on the activity of DAS in intractable CML, and reviews outcomes of patients enrolled on DAS clinical trials. Safety and tolerability as well as practical tips for management of side-effects, and drug interactions are included.

O uso indiscriminado de Himatanthus drasticus (Janaúba) por pequenos caprinocultores no controle de verminose em pequenos ruminantes foi o que motivou a realização do estudo fitoquímico do mesmo. Cascas da janaúba foram coletadas na mesorregião Leste do Maranhão e conduzidas aos laboratórios de Nutrição da Universidade Estadual do Maranhão e de Produtos Naturais da Universidade Federal do Maranhão para a identificação botânica e fitoquímica pela metodologia da Prospecção Preliminar e CCD, realizando testes para as diversas classes de metabólitos secundários. A partir das cascas do vegetal moído e desidratado foi realizado o preparo do extrato bruto (EB). O material foi colocado em uma mistura hidroalcoólica de EtOH: H2O (7:3 v:v), e submetido a agitação mecânica esporádica. Os Subextratos foram obtidos a partir do EBHA pelo processo de partição líquido-líquido, ETOH: H2O (2:1, v:v). As misturas foram preparadas com os seguintes solventes orgânicos de polaridades crescentes: hexano, acetato de etila e butanol. As análises cromatográficas evidenciaram a presença de grupos de metabólitos secundários no extrato e nos subextratos. As classes de metabólitos secundários que apresentaram maior expressividade na análise de prospecção foram os alcaloides e taninos, enquanto que na analise por CCD foram os flavonoides e terpenos, indicando o potencial da ação farmacológica das cascas de H. drasticus. The indiscriminate use of the plant Himatanthus drasticus (Janaúba) by small goat farmers to control nematode parasites in small ruminants was the aim of this phytochemical study of the plant. Barks were collected in the eastern mesoregion of the state of Maranhão, Brazil, and sent to the laboratory for botanical and phytochemical identification by the methodology of Preliminary Prospecting and TLC, testing for the various classes of secondary metabolites. From the ground, dehydrated bark, we conducted the preparation of the crude extract (CE). The material was placed in a water-alcohol mixture of EtOH:H2O (7:3 v:v) and subjected to sporadic mechanical agitation. The subextracts were obtained using the HACE process by liquid-liquid partition, ETOH:H2O (2:1, v:v). The mixtures were prepared with organic solvents of increasing polarity, such as hexane, ethyl acetate and butanol. The GC analysis showed the presence of groups of secondary metabolites in the extract and subextractes. The classes of secondary metabolites that showed greater expressiveness are the alkaloids and tannins, when analyzed by prospecting, and flavonoids and terpenes, when analyzed by TLC, and H. drasticus presents elements indicative of pharmacological action.

All patients underwent GCC (7 × 7 mm macular grid, consisting of RNFL, ganglion cell and inner plexiform layers) and pRNFL thickness measurement (3.45 mm circular scan) by SD-OCT. One eye was randomly selected for analysis. Initially, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were generated for different GCC and pRNFL parameters. The effect of disc area on the diagnostic accuracy of these parameters was evaluated using a logistic ROC regression model. Subsequently, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 mm2 disc sizes were arbitrarily chosen (based on data distribution) and the predicted areas under the ROC curves (AUCs) and sensitivities were compared at fixed specificities for each.Results: Average mean deviation index for glaucomatous eyes was -5.3 ± 5.2 dB. Similar AUCs were found for the best pRNFL (average thickness = 0.872) and GCC parameters (average thickness = 0.824; P = 0.19).The coefficient representing disc area in the ROC regression model was not statistically significant for average pRNFL thickness (-0.176) or average GCC thickness (0.088; P ≥ 0.56). AUCs for fixed disc areas (1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 mm2) were 0.904, 0.891, and 0.875 for average pRNFL thickness and 0.834, 0.842, and 0.851 for average GCC thickness, respectively. The highest sensitivities – at 80% specificity for average pRNFL (84.5%) and GCC thicknesses (74.5%) – were found with disc sizes fixed at 1.5 mm2 and 2.5 mm2.Conclusion: Diagnostic accuracy was similar between pRNFL and GCC thickness parameters. Although not statistically significant, there was a trend for a better diagnostic accuracy of pRNFL thickness measurement in cases of smaller discs.
