Quality management (QM) is not a new concept, nor is it a collection of processes or practices. Nonetheless, with rapid global changes across industries and markets, effective QM practices are more important than ever. Implementing QM practices in any company or company cannot happen separately from the organizational culture of the company or company. The competitive values framework (CVF), the Denison model, the organizational culture inventory (OCI), and the organizational culture profile are the most popular models and frameworks for addressing organizational culture (OCP). Many researchers find it difficult to decide which model/framework to apply when studying organizational culture. This paper provides a comprehensive literature review on each of these models/frameworks based on Boolean search results. This allows research to compare and contrast each, resulting in a set of recommendations and future directions for researchers in this field

This paper aims to analyze the patterns of leadership regeneration found in the Church today, using a descriptive qualitative method approach by collecting data through biblical literature, books, various journals, and interviews. Leadership within the Church today uses an allegedly less effective pattern for the long-term continuity of church life because regeneration is not a priority, so the younger generation feels that it is not counted as part of the Church's development plan day and in the future. Thus they do not feel at home but judge themselves as strangers within the Church. As a result, the pattern of leadership regeneration within the Church today is one of the triggers for the gap between generations that actually gives birth to a form of indirect division within the community of believers as the Body of Christ.

Surgical procedures have a history of dental pain, apprehension and fear reported by patients. Because of these reasons, they trigger a series of modifications that lead to changes in blood pressure and stress occurrences. Objective: This study aimed to monitor changes in blood pressure pre-, trans-, and postoperatively and assess whether the differences would be significant. Material and methods: One hundred and ninety-four patients, both genders, aged between 14 and 65 who were undergoing surgery for tooth extraction were selected. They had their systolic and diastolic blood pressures measured at four different times: preoperative (M1), post-anesthesia (M2), post-extraction (M3) and at the end, after the suture (M4), with the aid of a digital tensiometer. Results:There were statistically significant differences between systolic blood pressure changes among all times, except between M1 and M4. Concerning the diastolic blood pressure measurement, there were statistical differences among all times except between M1xM4 and M2xM3. Conclusion: There were changes in blood pressure between different moments of extractions.

Introdução e objetivo: A periodontite agressiva intriga clínicos e pesquisadores por sua rápida progressão e suas evidências de caráter genético. Diversas teorias tentam explicar as diferenças de susceptibilidade à doença entre os indivíduos, campo no qual ensaios genéticos e imunológicos assumiram grande importância. O objetivo deste trabalho foi revisar a literatura para compreender os aspectos imunológicos e genéticos envolvidos na periodontite agressiva. Revisão da literatura: Foram examinados artigos que tratavam de informações genéticas e/ou imunológicas dos indivíduos, relacionando-as com a susceptibilidade à doença. Conclusão: Na presença do biofilme dental, a susceptibilidade do hospedeiro à periodontite agressiva varia entre regiões, países e etnias. Os processos imunoinflamatórios que parecem estar alterados em pacientes com periodontite agressiva podem ser transmitidos verticalmente, explicando a agregação familiar associada à doença.

Improved microvascular perfusion using the TIMI myocardial perfusion grade (TMPG) has been related to reduced in hospital, 30-day and 2-year mortality following thrombolytic administration. We sought to validate this measure using the more quantitative technique of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and to correlate TMPG with ST segment resolution. DSA was used to analyze films from the LIMIT AMI acute myocardial infarction trial of front loaded r-tPA and rhuMAb CD18. Dye kinetics were also characterized using DSA in 88 arteries from patients without acute coronary syndromes in the absence of an obstructive lesion. Compared to normal patients, microvascular perfusion was reduced in acute myocardial infarction patients on DSA as demonstrated by a reduction in peak Gray (brightness) (p < 0.0001), the rate of rise in Gray/sec (p < 0.0001), the blush circumference (p < 0.0001), and the rate of growth in circumference (cm/sec) (p < 0.0001). However, while DSA perfusion was impaired overall in the setting of acute myocardial infarction, TMPG grade 3 in the setting of acute myocardial infarction did not differ from that in normal patients when studied quantitatively as shown by similar rates of growth in brightness and circumference (p = NS). ST resolution and the TMPG were significantly associated (p = 0.04). Compared to normal patients, acute myocardial infarction reduces the peak brightness of the myocardium, the rate of rise in brightness, the circumference of blush and the rate of growth in circumference as assessed using digital subtraction angiography. However, acute myocardial infarction patients with TMPG 3 had rates of growth in brightness and circumference that were nearly identical to normal patients. Thus, DSA validates that TMPG 3 is associated with normal kinetics of myocardial perfusion, and this likely accounts for the low (0.7%) 30 day mortality observed among those patients with TFG 3 and TMPG 3.

Amongst samples of the sweet potato chlorotic stunt crinivirus (SPCSV) obtained from crops of sweet potato in Uganda, two serotypes (SEA1 and SEA2) were distinguished using a panel of monoclonal antibodies (Mabs) to a Kenyan isolate of SPCSV. SEA1 serologically resembled the Kenyan isolate of SPCSV whereas SEA2 has not previously been reported. SEA1 was predominant in eastern Uganda whereas SEA2 was predominant in southern and western Uganda. SEA2 tended to occur in more severely diseased sweet potato plants than SEA1. RNA was extracted from eight plants and replicate clones representing the heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) homologue and coat protein (CP) genes were generated by reverse transcription and PCR. Sequence analyses revealed substitutions at two nucleotide positions in the HSP70 homologue gene, although neither affected deduced amino-acid sequences. Nucleotide substitutions in the CP gene region, which led to 11 amino-acid substitutions, revealed two major groupings plus other minor variants. The EMBL accession numbers of the sequences reported in this paper are AJ010754 through to AJ01769 (coat protein sequences) and AJ010914 through to AJ010929 (partial HSP70 homologue gene sequences).

A study compared the spread of sweet potato virus disease (SPVD) into crops of two moderately resistant and initially SPVD-free sweet potato cultivars in northern and southern Mpigi, Uganda. Whiteflies, the vector of sweet potato chlorotic stunt crini virus (SPCSV), a component cause of SPVD, were similarly abundant in farmers' sweet potato fields around Namulonge in northern Mpigi, and Kanoni in southern Mpigi. However, mean incidence of SPVD in farmers' crops neighbouring the trials was higher at Kanoni (13.3%) than at Namulonge (2.8%). Furthermore, spread of SPVD into initially SPVD-free sweet potato plots of two only moderately resistant cultivars was greater in plots at Kanoni than in plots at Namulonge. The SPVD-resistant New Kawogo was the most common cultivar grown in farmers' fields at Namulonge and had few diseased plants, whereas susceptible cultivars with relatively high incidences of disease predominated at Kanoni. Final SPVD incidence in each trial was positively correlated with a measure combining the proximity and level of inoculum in surrounding fields. The study demonstrates the importance of local SPVD inoculum in determining the rate of spread of the disease into fields and implies that the widespread cultivation of a resistant variety limits infection of susceptible cultivars grown nearby.

A gene encoding ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) activase (rca) was found downstream from the rbcLrbcS operon in the heterocystous cyanobacterium Anabaena sp. strain CA. Two unknown open reading frames were shown to be located between rbcS and rca in strain CA and all the genes, rbcLrbcS, ORF1, ORF2, and rca were in the same transcriptional orientation. The deduced amino acid sequence of the Anabaena Rubisco activase showed both similarities and differences to the plant enzyme with considerable differences at the carboxy and amino termini. Proposed ATP-binding sites were conserved in the cyanobacterial protein. Recombinant cyanobacterial Rubisco activase, however, reacted with antisera to spinach Rubisco activase. Hybridization studies, using the Anabaena sp. strain CA rca gene as a heterologous probe, detected homologous sequences in heterocystous Anabaena/Nostoc strains but not in unicellular or nonheterocystous filamentous cyanobacteria, suggestive of a close evolutionary relationship of chloroplasts and heterocystous cyanobacteria.

Intra-strain variation in the expression of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) by two clinical isolates of Helicobacter pylori was examined. Lipopolysaccharide was prepared from successive cultures of individual colonies from each strain, separated by SDS-PAGE, and detected by silver staining and by immunoblotting. The genetic ‘relatedness’ of the colonies was investigated using PCR-RFLP analysis of the urease and vacuolating cytotoxin genes. Although individual colonies of each of the two strains examined appeared to have the same genetic origins, variation in the expression of their long-chain LPS was observed. The same LPS profiles were maintained by individual colonies over four subcultures on solid media containing 10% (v/v) defibrinated horse blood.
