BACKGROUND: HIV partner notification services can help people living with HIV (PLHIV) to identify, locate, and inform their sexual and injecting partners who are exposed to HIV and refer them for proper and timely counseling and testing. To what extent these services were used by PLHIV and what are the related barriers and facilitators in southeast Iran are not known. So, this study aimed to explore HIV notification and its barriers and facilitators among PLHIV in Iran. METHODS: In this qualitative study, the number of 23 participants were recruited from November 2022 to February 2023 including PLHIV (N = 12), sexual partners of PLHIV (N = 5), and staff members (N = 6) of a Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) center in Kerman located in the southeast of Iran. Our data collection included purposive sampling to increase variation. The content analysis was conducted using the Graneheim and Lundman approach. The analysis yielded 221 (out of 322) related codes related to HIV notification, its barriers, and its facilitators. These codes were further categorized into one main category with three categories and nine sub-categories. RESULTS: The main category was HIV notification approaches, HIV notification barriers, and facilitators. HIV notification approaches were notification through clear, and direct conversation, notification through gradual preparation and reassurance, notification due to being with PLHIV, notification through suspicious talking of the physician, and notification due to the behavior of others. Also, the barriers were classified into individual, social, and environmental, and healthcare system barriers and the facilitators were at PLHIV, healthcare staff, and community levels. Stigma was a barrier mentioned by most participants. Also, the main facilitator of HIV notification was social support, especially from the family side. CONCLUSIONS: The findings highlighted the multidimensionality of HIV notification emphasizing the importance of tailored support and education to enhance the notification process for PLHIV and their networks. Also, our results show that despite all the efforts to reduce stigma and discrimination in recent years, stigma still exists as a main obstacle to disclosing HIV status and other barriers are the product of stigma. It seems that all programs should be directed towards destigmatization.

A confirmed case was a suspected case in which Vibrio cholerae was isolated in the stool by culture or PCR. We actively searched for cases and collected data on person characteristics, symptoms, and outbreak timeliness. We used semi-structured interviews to elicit insights from district health officials on the enabling factors and bottlenecks during the response. We used the 7–1–7 metric to assess detection, notification, and response capacities of the point of entry. Results: Thirteen members of a refugee family from South Sudan were diagnosed with cholera within 6 h of arrival at the Elegu border, with 4 (31%) confirmed cases. No death occurred. The authorities detected, notified, and responded to the outbreak within the 7–1–7 timelines, with no major bottlenecks identified. The outbreak was detected and notified within one day and by the fifth day, a full response was mounted. The prompt response was attributed to the availability of a functional emergency operations center and the presence of trained surveillance frontline health workers. Conclusion: Response to an imported cholera outbreak at Elegu border point demonstrated Uganda's preparedness in managing cross-border disease outbreaks. Achieving the 7–1–7 targets highlighted the country's-built capacity to detect, notify, and respond to such events. Continued investment in local-level disease detection, communication, and national-level resource mobilization will be crucial to sustaining future effective cross-border outbreak prevention and control strategies. ABSTRACT: Context/Background: The COVID-19 pandemic affected the health care services worldwide, with the target of END TB 2025; it was important to make sure that the TB notification and linkage services were not hampered. The current study aims to document the overall impact of COVID-19 on TB notification and treatment services. Aims/Objectives: To document the impact of COVID-19 on notification and comparison of their outcome between pre-COVID-19 and COVID-19 era. Methodology: Programmatic data of 9893 notified TB cases reported from Surat rural between 2019 and 2021 were collected from Nikshay portal through DTO Surat. Detailed comparison of pre- and COVID-19 era was performed using stratified analysis. Results: There was a significant (P = 0.02) 29% decline in cases reported in 2020 as compared to the cases reported in the previous year. The impact of COVID-19 was also seen on mortality of the reported cases (18% increase). The overall proportion of treatment failure was increased (28%), whereas difference of 20% was seen in cases where treatment regimen was required to be changed. Conclusions: Despite the overall impact of COVID-19 on TB services (2020), the health department has proactively countered and bounce back in 2021 with an overall increase in notification and treatment services. Background: According to the Chinese Society of Anesthesiology, it is recommended that patients with difficult airways be documented and notified, which will provide healthcare professionals with a direct reference when managing airways. However, compliance with this initiative remains unclear. This study was conducted to investigate the current status and need for difficult airway notification at Plastic Surgery Hospital and to explore the factors contributing to noncompliance. Methods: Anesthesiologists, surgeons, and patients in Plastic Surgery Hospital were administered separate questionnaires regarding notification of difficult airway management. Participants were surveyed regarding their attitudes and current practices regarding difficult airway notification. In addition, questions were asked regarding the barriers that contribute to noncompliance. Results: A total of 632 valid responses were obtained and analyzed, giving a response rate of 99.21%. 399 patients (89.46%) felt it was very important for anesthesiologists to inform them about their difficult airway, and 91.03% felt it was very important for them to receive a letter of their airway assessment. However, twenty-two anesthesiologists (64.7%) reported verbally informing less than 50% of patients about their difficult airway after surgery, and only four anesthesiologists informed all patients they encountered. Most surgeons (91.22%) and anesthesiologists (91.18%) believe that it is vital to inform patients verbally, while 114 surgeons (77.03%) and 31 anesthesiologists (91.18%) believe that it is essential to complete a difficult airway notification alert. Among the factors causing noncompliance, 17 (34.69%) believed that absence of mandatory rules, 9 (18.37%) believed that increased workload, and 8 (16.33%) believed that notification methods were lacking. Conclusions: The compliance to difficult airway notification remains low in Plastic Surgery Hospital despite the high incidence of difficult airways. Although anesthesiologists, surgeons, and patients are strongly in favor of it. Among the barriers to compliance were the absence of a well-developed notification system and a means of notification such as an alert form for difficult airways. The study is aimed at analysing the legal acts establishing the procedure for publishing notices of suspicion on the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office and in the newspaper “Uryadovyi Kurier” and notices of suspicion already published in these sources, determining the requirements for them and developing an algorithm for publication for prosecutors and investigators. The author uses the methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, comparative legal, formal and logical, systemic and structural, graphical and other methods of scientific research. The article establishes that the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine defines the obligation of an investigator or prosecutor to serve a notice of suspicion by publishing it on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General and in the mass media of national distribution. This method of delivery is possible for both general and special pre-trial investigation regimes. It is emphasised that the notice of suspicion to be published on the website and in the mass media of the national sphere of distribution have differences in content, format, data that may be made public, and place of publication. In order to prevent possible violations, the requirements for suspicion notifications are detailed and visualised in the form of a table. It is found that the procedure for publishing notices of suspicion for investigators and prosecutors is different. The author identifies the stages required for publishing notices of suspicion for investigators and prosecutors and develops appropriate algorithms. The findings of the study can be used in lawmaking activities in the development and improvement of regulations on this topic, in practical activities by investigators of pre-trial investigation bodies, prosecutors when serving a person with a notice of suspicion, in scientific activities to continue research in this area, in educational activities to prepare materials for teaching students, cadets, trainees in legal specialties and for advanced training of investigators and prosecutors.

As it is observed these days, the roads are crowded with different kinds of vehicles, and as a result, accidents have become more dangerous every day. In this paper, a vehicle accident detection and notification system is designed by using road surveillance camera data and machine learning techniques to use the recorded footage from the surveillance cameras to detect the accident status, activate an alerting sound, and send the notification message as a Google email (Gmail) to the specialist. The system model was made by combining two algorithms, convolutional neural networks (CNN) and support vector machines (SVM), to make a CNN-SVM hybrid model, which was then trained using two datasets. The first dataset contains 4814 images with sizes (28, 28) and extensions (jpg), and the second dataset contains 990 images with sizes (32, 32) and extensions (jpg). The outcomes scores of the evaluation matrices are: accuracy for the first dataset is 99.74% and loss is 1.14%, and for the second dataset, accuracy is 98.88% and loss is 3.39%. When testing it with real-world data, it achieved its objectives in 30 seconds, with accuracy reaching 100%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: to understand how adverse events are reported from the point of view of nursing professionals. Methods: a qualitative study was carried out with 38 nursing professionals. Data was collected using an electronic form of personal and professional characterization and guiding questions. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the characterization data and thematic content analysis was used for the qualitative data. Results: 21 nurses and 17 nursing technicians participated, most young women from hospitals in four Brazilian states. Two categories emerged: Notification of adverse events, one more task to be carried out in daily work, and Notification and institutional treatment of adverse events, from a personal approach to a procedural one, with subcategories. Conclusion: notifications focus on filling in the institutional instrument, and there is a lack of clarity about what adverse events are. A punitive culture persists, but there seems to be a movement towards a procedural approach. Contribution to practice: we hope to help raise awareness of the issue and help institutions develop more effective reporting strategies to monitor patient safety and drive improvements.

This paper discusses the intricacies of diplomatic privileges and immunities as outlined in the Vienna Convention. It highlights the distinction between privileges granted to representatives of states versus those of international organizations. The classification of diplomatic staff into four categories is explained, emphasizing the inviolability and immunity of diplomatic agents. Changes in definitions and practices since 1958 are explored, along with the importance of proper notification and certification of diplomatic status. The roles of heads of missions, particularly the doyen of the diplomatic corps, are outlined, as well as the significance of acceptance or rejection of diplomatic representatives by receiving states. The article concludes with insights into the termination of diplomatic missions and the authority of states to impose conditions on diplomatic privileges and immunities.

Introduction/Frame: Some migrant women living in Portugal who have undergone female genital mutilation pass on this legacy to their daughters for cultural reasons. In this context, it is imperative that nurses specialising in maternal health and obstetric nursing (henceforth referred to as obstetric nurses) contribute to eradicating this harmful traditional practice and protecting the girls of future generations; Research Question/Objectives: The guiding research question is “What experiences do obstetric nurses have when caring for women with female genital mutilation?” and the objective is “To understand the experiences of obstetric nurses when faced with the challenges of caring for women with female genital mutilation”; Methodology: This is a hermeneutic phenomenological qualitative study, based on the assumptions of Max van Manen, who defends the importance of understanding and interpreting human experiences for nursing practice. A phenomenological interview script was used to collect the data, and 12 participants were interviewed who met the following inclusion criteria: being an obstetric nurse who provides, or has provided, preventive care and has notified or referred cases of FGM; Results: Two categories stand out: “Constraints experienced by obstetric nurses when caring for women who have undergone genital mutilation” and “Proposals to be implemented by obstetric nurses to prevent, notify and intervene to eradicate female genital mutilation”; Final considerations: The conclusions show that preventive, notification and intervention practices still fall short of what would be desirable. There is an urgent need to invest in and intensify the training of health professionals in female genital mutilation, making them more aware and knowledgeable about this practice. Introduction: pharmacovigilance programs monitor the Adverse Drug Events (ADEs). Although Colombian legislation mandates healthcare service providers to have an institutional pharmacovigilance program, not all institutions comply with this regulation. Objective: Determine the level of implementation of the pharmacovigilance program and its associated factors in health institutions in Valle del Cauca. Methodology: A survey was designed based on the HENRI PFv scale of the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (INVIMA). The survey was sent to health institutions. Information was consulted in the special registry of health providers and information on the EAM report in VigiFlow. The association between the implementation of the program and each of the factors was evaluated, using Stata version 14 software. Results: 80 institutions participated, of which 81% were classified as being implemented and 19% as not being implemented. The item with the lowest compliance was having pharmacovigilance programs and strategies (40%) and having a quality management system (45%), and the item with the highest compliance was the review of alerts and health measures (88%). The bivariate analysis allowed establishing the association between program implementation and variables such as the presence of pharmaceutical personnel, the institution's location in a large municipality, the program's operational duration of more than one year, and the perception that INVIMA does not send reports to stakeholders. Conclusion: The implementation was determined for each institution. The factors associated with implementation constitute aspects to consider to improve the functioning of pharmacovigilance programs. Containers are a mainstream virtualization technique for running stateful workloads over persistent storage. In highly utilized multitenant hosts, resource contention at the system kernel leads to inefficient container input/output (I/O) handling. Although there are interesting techniques to address this issue, they incur high implementation complexity and execution overhead. As a cost-effective alternative, we introduce the Diciclo architecture with our assumptions, goals, and principles. For each tenant, Diciclo isolates the control and data I/O path at user level and runs dedicated storage systems. Diciclo includes the libservice unified user-level abstraction of system services and the node structure design pattern for the application and server side. We prototyped a toolkit of user-level components that comprise the library to invoke the standard I/O calls, the I/O communication mechanism, and the I/O services. Based on Diciclo, we built Danaus, a filesystem client that integrates a union filesystem with a Ceph distributed filesystem client and configurable shared cache. Across different host configurations, workloads, and systems, Danaus achieves improved performance stability, because it handles I/O with reserved per-tenant resources and avoids intensive kernel locking. Based on having built and evaluated Danaus, we share valuable lessons about resource contention, file management, service separation, and performance stability in multitenant systems. This study explores how patient’s laboratory result are accessed in pediatric emergency departments. The rapid turnaround of laboratory results and their timely access by the medical team are crucial for effective patient management and care decision-making. This study revealed a systematic access prioritization to the Electronic Health Record, led by physicians, followed by nurses, and then other healthcare staff Despite efforts to streamline access through computerized laboratory results, optimized laboratory turnaround time and integration of final results into the electronic health record remain key challenges. Delays in accessing analysis results issued by the central hospital laboratory are consistently experienced across various laboratory types, indicating broader systemic workflow issues rather than inefficiencies specific to individual laboratories. Notifications are an essential part of the user experience on smart mobile devices. While some apps have to notify users immediately after an event occurs, others can schedule notifications strategically to notify them only on opportune moments. This tailoring allows apps to shorten the users' interaction delay. In this paper, we present the results of a comprehensive study that identified the factors that influence users' interaction delay to their smartphone notifications. We analyzed almost 10 million notifications collected in-the-wild from 922 users and computed their response times with regard to their demographics, their Big Five personality trait scores and the device's charging state. Depending on the app category, the following tendencies can be identified over the course of the day: Most notifications were logged in late morning and late afternoon. This number decreases in the evening, between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., and at the same time exhibits the lowest average interaction delays at daytime. We also found that the user's sex and age is significantly associated with the response time. Based on the results of our study, we encourage developers to incorporate more information on the user and the executing device in their notification strategy to notify users more effectively. ABSTRACT Objectives: Identify the frequency of recurrent violence in cases reported in Espírito Santo and the associated factors. Methods: Cross-sectional study. Which included data on violence in Espírito Santo from 2011 to 2018, from the Notifiable Diseases Information System, and, Statistical analyzes were performed using the chi-square test and Poisson regression. Results: 54.2% (N:14.966) of reported cases of violence are repeated, and higher prevalences were associated with female sex (PR:1.54), child (PR: 1.29) or elderly victims (PR: 1.25), the presence of disabilities/disorders (PR:1.42) and occurrence in urban/peri-urban areas (PR: 1.10). Furthermore, there is a greater frequency of injuries caused by a single aggressor (PR: 1.20), man (PR: 1.28), aged 25 or over (PR: 1.09), known to the victim (PR: 2.81) and at home (PR: 1.69). Conclusion: The reported cases of violence showed a high frequency of recurrence, and were associated with the studied characteristics of the victim, the aggressor and the event.

Praise be to Allah, and may prayers and peace be upon the faithful Prophet. Prayer holds a high position in Islam, and the Sharia clarifies its rulings, as well as what validates or invalidates them. Due to human nature being prone to forgetfulness and distraction, worshippers often find themselves in situations where they need to correct their actions during prayer and alert others to possible mistakes. Many times, an Imam may be uncertain about the correct course of action, or congregants may inadvertently disrupt his prayer with conversations. In such cases, it becomes necessary to address the issue and continue with the prayer. This research aims to benefit worshippers, including Imams and congregants, by providing guidance on correcting prayers and avoiding accidental omissions, as well as offering strategies for alerting others when necessary. The research discusses various examples of Quranic verses that can be remembered and utilized during prayer to alert the Imam, the congregation, or others. The title of this research is: "The Ruling on Alerting with Quranic Verses During Prayer". Its primary objectives include mentioning examples of Quranic verses suitable for alerting. The research is structured into an introduction, four main sections, and a conclusion. The first section covers the warning of praise and similar actions, the second focuses on alerting with Quranic verses, the third explores the positions of early scholars regarding Quranic verse alerting, and the fourth provides examples of Quranic verses suitable for alerting during prayer. One of the duties of the Supreme Council of Religious Affairs, which is the highest decision-making and advisory body of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, is to examine current religious formations. One of the religious movements that make their presence felt most among current religious formations is the groups that manifest themselves under the name of "Salafism". However, the definition of "Salafî" or the conceptual framework of the "Salafî Movement" is not established on a clear basis. Taking this problem into consideration, the Supreme Council of Religious Affairs organized a scientific consultation meeting titled "Salafism and Its Historical Background" in order to determine the conceptual framework, classification, theology of Salafism and determinations and proposals on how this phenomenon should be approached. At the meeting held on 7-8 December 2023, the issue of "Salafism" was discussed in detail by academics specialized in this field. In order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), it is imperative to ensure the safety of drinking water. The characteristics of each drinkable water, encompassing taste, aroma, and appearance, are unique. Inadequate water infrastructure and treatment can affect these features and may also threaten public health. This study utilizes the Internet of Things (IoT) in developing a monitoring system, particularly for water quality, to reduce the risk of contracting diseases. Water quality components data, such as water temperature, alkalinity or acidity, and contaminants, were obtained through a series of linked sensors. An Arduino microcontroller board acquired all the data and the Narrow Band-IoT (NB-IoT) transmitted them to the web server. Due to limited human resources to observe the water quality physically, the monitoring was complemented by real-time notifications alerts via a telephone text messaging application. The water quality data were monitored using Grafana in web mode, and the binary classifiers of machine learning techniques were applied to predict whether the water was drinkable or not based on the data collected, which were stored in a database. The non-decision tree, as well as the decision tree, were evaluated based on the improvements of the artificial intelligence framework. With a ratio of 60% for data training: at 20% for data validation, and 10% for data testing, the performance of the decision tree (DT) model was more prominent in comparison with the Gradient Boosting (GB), Random Forest (RF), Neural Network (NN), and Support Vector Machine (SVM) modeling approaches. This study aims to develop web-based hospital management software. Several previous studies discovered some lack, such as manual queue calling, limited patient registration, difficult access to medical records, and the absence of reminders. In this study, we developed queue, reservation, medical record, reminder, and medical action modules. We expected that facilities could improve the operational efficiency of hospital services. The research stage starts with problem formulation, literature study, design determination, system development with five main modules, system testing, and the creation of research articles. This study extensively analyzed campylobacteriosis surveillance in Portugal from 2009 to 2021, aiming to investigate demographic shifts, seasonal variations, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) within Campylobacter isolates. Surveillance network and sentinel laboratory-based system data revealed a substantial under-notification of campylobacteriosis cases, suggesting an underestimated disease burden. Notification rates exhibited a paradigm shift, with a notable prevalence among the pediatric population, particularly in children aged 1–4 years, diverging from European reports. Additionally, an emerging trend of Campylobacter infections in younger adults (15–44 years) was observed. The study unveiled a unique seasonal distribution of cases, defying typical summer peaks seen elsewhere. AMR analysis revealed high resistance to ciprofloxacin and tetracycline, in both C. jejuni (93.7% and 79.2%, respectively) and C. coli (96.5% and 93.2%, respectively), stable throughout the studied period (2013–2021). C. coli exhibited significantly higher resistance to erythromycin, gentamicin, ampicillin and ertapenem compared to C. jejuni (p < 0.001). Multilocus Sequence Typing (MLST) data demonstrated the distribution of resistance markers across diverse sequence types, challenging the notion of a clonal origin for multidrug-resistant isolates. In conclusion, the study highlights the need for enhanced surveillance and raises concerns about alarming AMR levels, recommending the implementation of whole-genome sequencing (WGS)-based surveillance for a deeper comprehension of disease patterns and an evolving AMR landscape. Background: Safety is a crucial aspect of healthcare provision. Incidents or adverse events in healthcare can often be prevented and must be reported when they occur. Objective: To assess nurses' opinions about the process of reporting adverse events in their institution, the barriers to the process, and the strategies to promote it. Methodology: A simple descriptive study was conducted with 62 nurses working at the operating room of a central hospital in the center of Portugal. A questionnaire was administered in February 2022. Results: The main barriers identified were the lack of a reporting culture, work overload, lack of feedback, forgetfulness, and insufficient knowledge about the system and what to report. The strategies identified to promote the reporting process were training, feedback, and debriefings. The study examined the legal system of electronic telegrams in the system of using electronic means in civil proceedings The Jordanian legislator was created to keep abreast of recent electronic developments and to use them to facilitate litigation proceedings against the parties to the proceedings and to address the obstacles and problems encountered in conventional reporting and researchers used the descriptive and analytical approach by describing the concept of electronic reporting, Analyzing the texts of the Civil Trial Code and Code of Procedure and amendments. This study has reached several conclusions. The ease of use, as well as several suggestions, is important for the legislator to organize texts setting out the system's electronic reporting procedures because of the inadequacy of the texts contained in the Code of Civil Procedure, and the Provision of more modern technical equipment and development, numbers and qualification of Ministry of Justice staff to use means. Objective: to analyze adverse events reported internally in different hospitals and the possible reasons for underreporting to official reporting systems. Methods: a mixed study was carried out in three hospitals, using secondary data from internal records and notifications from official systems. Interviews were conducted with 27 professionals. We used content analysis and statistical analysis of the text corpus using the software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires. Results: of the 1,154 adverse events recorded internally, medication/intravenous fluid errors and clinical processes/procedures stand out. However, in the official systems, failure to identify falls appears as the most reported event. The prevalence of underreporting in the official systems was 34.4%, the main reasons being: difficulty of access, lack of knowledge, complexity of the systems, turnover, work overload, internal underreporting, and non-exclusive human resources at the center. Conclusion: The main internal notifications were of medication/intravenous fluid errors and clinical processes/procedures, but there was under-reporting to official systems due to human resources, infrastructure, and management issues. Contributions to practice: the role of managers, professionals, and the regulatory body in implementing actions to facilitate, train, and support those responsible for records stand out.

Abstract Objective: To analyze the temporal trend of completeness and consistency of data on notifications of violence against indigenous women in the health macro-region of Dourados, state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, between 2009 and 2020. Methods: An ecological time series study was conducted using data from the Notifiable Health Conditions Information System; Prais-Winsten regression was used to analyze the trend of data completeness and consistency, as well as the proportion of completed and coherent fields. Results: A total of 2,630 cases were reported; completeness was found to be very poor in the variable “occupation” (48.9%) and poor in the variables “schooling” (68.3%) and “time of occurrence” (67.9%); in the analysis of temporal trends, only the variable “occupation” showed a decreasing trend (p = 0.045). Conclusion: The data analyzed demonstrated the need for improvement in the completeness of the variables “schooling”, “occupation” and “time of occurrence” of the violent act.

Background: High breast density is an independent risk factor for breast cancer and decreases the sensitivity of mammography. This systematic review synthesizes the evidence on the impact of breast density (BD) information and/or notification on women's psychosocial outcomes among women from racial and ethnic minority groups. Methods: A systematic search was performed in March 2023, and the articles were identified using CINHAL, Embase, Medline, and PsychInfo databases. The search strategy combined the terms “breast”, “density”, “notification” and synonyms. The authors specifically kept the search terms broad and did not include terms related to race and ethnicity. Full-text articles were reviewed for analysis by race, ethnicity and primary language of participants. Two authors evaluated the eligibility of studies with verification from the study team, extracted and crosschecked data, and assessed the risk of bias. Results: Of 1784 articles, 32 articles published from 2003 to 2023 were included. Thirty-one studies were conducted in the United States and one in Australia, with 28 quantitative and four qualitative methodologies. The overall results in terms of breast density awareness, knowledge, communication with healthcare professionals, screening intentions and supplemental screening practice were heterogenous across studies. Barriers to understanding BD notifications and intentions/access to supplemental screening among racial and ethnic minorities included socioeconomic factors, language, health literacy and medical mistrust. Conclusions: A one-size approach to inform women about their BD may further disadvantage racial and ethnic minority women. BD notification and accompanying information should be tailored and translated to ensure readability and understandability by all women.

According to the governing principles of medical law, the doctor's intervention in the patient's treatment requires the informed consent of the patient. This consent is achieved when the patient has expressed her/his consent by having sufficient information about the treatment process and its risks. In this study, the question related to the issue that what risks the doctor should inform the patient is answered by a descriptive-analytical method and a comparative approach in American and French law. Despite the different approaches, the two main criteria of "importance of risk" and "probability of risk" are the most fundamental influencing factors in determining the scope of the doctor's commitment in informing about the risks of treatment. In French law, based on the types of risk, "serious" and "common" risks are recognized as the subject of the doctor's obligation to inform, but in American law, based on the approach founded on the patient's perspective and with objective criterion, the doctor is obliged to inform about the risks that are typically important and basic from the patient's point of view, according to the "severity of the risk" and the "percentage of its occurrence". The new approach of English law is also an integrated approach based on "active interaction between doctor and patient" which, due to attention to the specific characteristics and conditions of the patient under treatment, brings maximum efficiency to realize informed consent. The same approach is also suggested in Iran law, which means that before treatment, the doctor, by examining the patient's condition, mood and views, in an active interaction, recognize important risks from the patient's point of view, and in cases where access to the patient's point of view, it was not possible to use the criterion of the reasonable patient.

Productivity is a key factor in the success of a company, and real-time monitoring systems are necessary to achieve this goal. Manual data collection is time-consuming and exhausting. Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technology has been rapidly advancing in monitoring and optimizing industrial processes. Production processes can be disrupted due to machine problems; hence, the need to analyze machine efficiency using the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) method. This study implements a system that uses Industrial Internet of Things technology based on mobile application to monitor production processes, report production results, assess machine performance using the OEE method and provide maintenance notifications based on time-based maintenance. Research findings indicate that the production monitoring system implemented on a prototype press machine based on an interactive mobile application interface is capable of monitoring production processes and reporting production results. The system can also assess machine performance using the OEE method, with a calculation accuracy of 99.95% and maintenance notifications with a delay time of 1.04 seconds.

In parliamentary regimes, principally parliament has the authority to remove political officials from office due to violation of laws or failure in execution of governmental duties. Mechanisms of political supervision of ministers include notification, questioning, and impeachment. This article employs a descriptive-analytical method, by using library sources, to examine the subject of formality for the political supervision of ministers under the legal system of Islamic Republic of Iran and the Mashrooteh (Constitutional) era. Comparative analysis and historical evolution of this topic pose the question of which system, either the Mashrooteh (Constitutional) or Islamic Republic, has had a more dignified approach to the formality of political supervision of ministers by taking into account the legal, cultural, and historical background of Iran? The outcome of this research demonstrates that in the mechanisms of notification and questioning, the current political system, contrary to the Mashrooteh (Constitutional) one, has systematically and rationally provided rules governing the application of these parliamentary competencies. On the other hand, in impeachment mechanism, limiting the Members of Parliament to propose it in specific cases, and the effective and accurate examination by Commission had turned the impeachment process into a reasonable and efficient formality during the Mashrooteh (Constitutional) Era, while, in the Islamic Republic system, the quorum for proposing impeachment, the ease of the application of impeachment process, and the broad scope of impeachable subjects have posed notable challenges.

The burden of tuberculosis (TB) in Jordan is largely unknown due to the paucity of high-quality data, under-reporting, and a lack of good quality vital registration system. This study aimed to assess the characteristics of TB patients in Jordan, determine the TB notification rate and assess the trend of TB notification in Jordan between 2016 and 2020. Methods: This study analyzed the TB Surveillance data in Jordan for the period 2016–2020. The obtained data included information on age, gender, nationality, marital status, date of symptoms onset and date of diagnosis, and site of TB. Results: During the period 2016–2020, a total of 1711 patients (989 women and 722 men) were diagnosed with and treated for tuberculosis. The mean (SD) age of patients was 30.1 (17.2) years. Almost half of them (48.4%) were Jordanians. The majority of non-Jordanian patients were from Syria, Philippines, and Bangladesh. Two thirds of patients (66.0%) had pulmonary TB and 34.0% had extra-pulmonary TB. Almost half (50.7%) of the patients were diagnosed within one month of the symptoms’ onset. The average annual TB notification rate during 2016–2020 was 3.32 per 100,000 pop (4.08 per 100,000 women and 2.64 per 100,000 men). The average annual standardized notification rate was 4.13 per 100,000 pop (4.52 per 100,000 women and 3.52 per 100,000 men). The overall age-standardized notification rate increased from 3.88 per 100,000 pop in 2016 to 4.58 per 100,000 pop in 2019 and declined to 2.46 per 100,000 pop in 2020. The trend in TB notification differed significantly according to gender. While the notification increased in the last three years among women, it decreased significantly among men. Conclusions: While TB notification increased in the last three years among women, it decreased significantly among men. There is a need to ensure that the national TB plans set clear targets for reducing the burden of TB.

Abstract This study identified characteristics in the notifications related to sexual violence (SV) against girls and boys registered in the Violence and Accidents Monitoring System (VIVA; SINAN/NET) of the city of João Pessoa, between 2017 and 2020. This was a documental, descriptive and cross-sectional study. A total of 255 notifications were analyzed. The data showed that the majority of the notified cases were related to pre-adolescents, of mixed race and female. Most of the notifications reported only one incident. The overall case shows that the abuse took place in the home, with a male abuser, being the victim’s boyfriend. The time that elapsed between the incident and disclosing was longer in the cases of adolescents [t(253)=-2,75, p=.001]; and rapes were more observed against girls (χ2=12.305/df=4, p=.015).
