Background: The global population's aging has led to an increasing demand for long-term care (LTC), especially in developing countries like China. Comprehensive assessment of LTC service demands by including the time and cost analysis is crucial to inform the planning and financing of LTC resources, yet such research is lacking in China. Our research team has developed a quantitative index system of the medical and nursing services needs of older adults (QISMNSNE) based on the framework of Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC), providing a valuable tool for measuring LTC service needs. This study aimed to assess the LTC service needs of older adults in China and the factors associated with such needs. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Changsha City, Hunan Province, China, from June 2021 to December 2022. A stratified multistage cluster sampling method was used to recruit 1,270 older adults from five nursing homes and three communities/streets in three regions of Changsha City. The LTC service needs were assessed by calculating the service time required from caregivers, nurses, and doctors and the total service time (min/d) using the QISMNSNE. Participants' disability, activities of daily living (ADLs), mental status and social involvement (MSSI), and sensory and communication (SC) were assessed using standard scales. Generalized linear regression models were used to analyze factors associated with LTC service needs. Results: The participants had an average age of 76.41 ± 8.38 years, with 43.7% being female. The median service time required from caregivers, nurses, and doctors was 53.34 min/d, 3.66 min/d, and 0.33 min/d, respectively, and the total service time was 83.31 min/d. The generalized linear regression model identified the following factors that were associated with higher total service time: aged 75–84 years, living in nursing homes, income over 5000 per month, ADLs, MSSI (9 ~ 40), SC, and having 3 ~ 4 kinds of geriatric comorbidity (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Older adults have a high need for LTC services, especially those provided by caregivers, indicating an urgent need to expand and improve LTC systems. The LTC service time needed is associated with multilevel factors encompassing socio-demographic, functional, and psychological aspects. This study offers preliminary insights into the needs, demands, and costs of LTC services for older adults and provides essential guidance for future planning and financing of LTC resources. This study was undertaken at a Mongolian community language school which aims to support Mongolian heritage children to learn their home language and culture. The learners were aged 4–15 years with diverse abilities in the Mongolian language. Informed by both purpose-developed Needs and Interest Analyses, a task-based language teaching (TBLT) program was developed and implemented over a six-month period. To evaluate the usefulness of this, two methods were utilised. Firstly, learners’ task-based interactions were recorded regularly, transcribed and qualitatively analysed. Secondly, stakeholder feedback was elicited via interviews. The findings showed that the learners interacted in ways facilitative of second language acquisition (i.e., they received abundant input, used a variety of interactive strategies, provided peer scaffolding, and modified their output according to the feedback). Music vocational is a programme that provides students with work, networking and learning activities outside of school through music performance or other musical activities that encourage students to gain some experience in a music industry job setting. However, music vocational education is still developing and is currently trying to reach students with special needs through special schools. The standardised skills that are commonly used and developed in society need to be understood and practised by children with special needs, especially the visually impaired students. However, its programme some case not being executed by the relevant teachers background. This study aims to examine the need for relevant music teachers for the implementation of music vocational training programmes in special education settings. Literature study on this study to explain the standard specifications of music vocational education and training teachers and how to implement vocational or specialised music learning for visually impaired students. The qualitative data show that vocational music education requires teachers with at least two years' experience and knowledge of music and the music industry, as well as several strategies for teaching visually impaired students in vocational music programmes that are directed towards self-determination in preparation for possible future careers. Supporting a transition in Macao's senior secondary schools from individualized, informal music curricula to a government-led music curriculum, this qualitative and exploratory needs-analysis study reports the voices of three stakeholders – the government, teachers and their students. The findings a provide an understanding of Macao's music education context, from which emerges five contributions to the current Literature: 1) Wiggins and McTighe Understanding by Design supports differing approaches to curriculum development, 2) a "needs-analysis" approach mediates education change, 3) curriculum cohesion can retain music teachers' individual autonomy, 4) students' music learning and assessment expectations exceed those of their teachers' and 5) diversity in teacher training both empowers and dis-empowers these music-teachers' autonomy. In light of globalization and international travel, English plays a predominant role in the tourism and hospitality industries. Hence, effective communication in English becomes a requisite skill for Food and Beverage (F&B) employees, especially in luxury resorts. Nonetheless, there has been limited research into the linguistic needs of these employees. This preliminary study explored the English language needs and problems encountered by F&B staff at a 5-star resort in Vietnam in a post-pandemic context. Data included two sets of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews of full-time F&B employees and related stakeholders. In addition, an analysis of Tripadvisor reviews was utilized to understand customers' opinions about the employees' English abilities. The findings showed that the F&B employees perform various tasks requiring four English skills in their daily work. Regarding problems, these employees considered listening and writing to be the most difficult skills. Also, the F&B employees expected an ESP course prioritizing speaking and listening skills to mitigate the lack of exposure to English due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its concomitant travel restrictions. Based on the findings, practical course syllabi and pedagogical implications for related ESP courses were developed. • English training for F&B employees is a must in the post-pandemic context. • Formal and elegant English expressions are required in luxury resort. • Training contents must be customized to each restaurant's service sequence. • Training in menu explanations, telephoning, and travel advice is needed. • ESP instructors should maximize practice opportunities in authentic work situations. Thesis writing (used here as an umbrella term to cover both master's and doctoral postgraduate-level writing) is a high-stakes genre for postgraduate students. This important student genre has been well-researched from a corpus-based perspective. Corpora of theses and also research articles have been used for data-driven learning (DDL) of this key genre. The purpose of this article is to critically examine key DDL initiatives, some of which take a 'research into practice' orientation. Importantly, the discussion is framed around the notion of 'specificity' in the context of needs analysis, and whether the initiatives take a wide-angle, narrow-angle or move from a wide-angle to a narrow angle approach. Accounts which focus on DIY (do-it-yourself) mini-corpus compilation and use by students are also reviewed. The final section of the article presents a critique of current pedagogic applications, taking a closer look at the issue of 'specificity' within the wider context of needs analysis and mapping out areas for future consideration. It is suggested that an ethnographic perspective may be particularly useful for conceptualising specificity relating to students' present situation needs. Reading instruction plays a fundamental role in shaping students' academic success, particularly in culturally diverse contexts. In Islamic educational institutions, there is a critical need for materials that resonate with students' cultural and religious backgrounds. This study aimed to develop a culturally responsive reading instructional module tailored to the specific needs of first-grade students at an Islamic Junior High School in Mataram, Indonesia. Grounded in constructivist learning theory, which emphasizes the importance of contextual relevance in education, the study integrates Islamic cultural and religious themes to foster student engagement and improve reading comprehension. A mixed-methods approach was utilized, involving surveys, interviews, and pre- and post-assessments. The study included 60 first-grade students and their teachers. The results demonstrated significant improvements in students’ reading comprehension and engagement. The mean test scores increased notably, and students expressed higher levels of enjoyment with the culturally aligned materials. These findings underscore the importance of integrating cultural and religious content into instructional materials, creating more inclusive and effective educational experiences. The study offers practical insights for educators in similar settings, highlighting the potential of culturally responsive pedagogy to bridge the gap between students' home and school environments, while also fostering a deeper appreciation of their cultural heritage. This contribution provides valuable guidance for the future development of culturally tailored educational strategies in Islamic contexts.

English for Civil and Mechanical Engineering is a rather understudied and less explored facet of English for Specific/Academic Purposes, yet one that is still in emergence. When it comes to English for Specific Purposes, one of the most crucial skills is the ability to read professionally-oriented materials. This paper attempts to provide an overview of why reading, among all the skills, is so important when teaching ESP. Forasmuch as reading is unanimously considered a cognitive process focusing on language acquisition, communication, and exchanging information and ideas, ESP teachers now have a distinctive viewpoint on the importance of reading in the language classroom and the types of texts that can be used in instruction. Since language education and ESP, in particular, adopt a communicative approach, we think that our recommendations could be useful, flexible enough to fit into, or even modified for different purposes. A case study focusing on the observation and evaluation of student's academic performance was part of the research method. Students were questioned concerning their educational backgrounds, reading comprehension skills, and reading motivation. To create a well-designed curriculum, we started by assessing our students’ needs, wants, and lacks through a questionnaire and by attempting to manage the intricacy of civil and mechanical engineering sciences to gather data that might aid in the creation of a powerful, meaningful ESP course.

Abstract Teachers need to be more competent in understanding and implementing the value of energy-saving ethics, which affects the process of instilling its value in students. In fact, there are many subjects in Indonesia's national and religious education curriculum that contain the value of energy-saving ethics. The purpose of this research is to design a training and competency development program for Islamic school (madrasah) teachers integrated with the boarding school system (pesantren). The design stages included needs analysis, textbook analysis for Islamic Religious Education, Science, and Language in grades VII-IX, competency analysis, and curriculum and syllabus design. At each stage, we conducted interviews with Islamic Religious Education teachers, energy conservation instructor, curriculum development experts, and linguists. We also carry out benchmarking based on the curriculum and syllabus documents developed by training institutions. The research results led us to design a training program that emphasizes the ability to internalize religious ethical value messages related to energy-saving learning. The implementation uses a place-based education approach and a blended learning format that is highly flexible in terms of resource availability for teachers and schools. We discuss the implications of the research results, emphasize the use of local green energy issues and resources as learning resources, and establish partnerships with universities and human resource development institutions, as well as local teacher learning communities in the energy field. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah desain program pelatihan dan pengembangan kompetensi guru sekolah Islam atau madrasah yang terintegrasi dengan sistem pondok pesantren. Tahapan desain meliputi analisis kebutuhan, analisis buku teks pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam, sains, dan bahasa kelas VII-IX, analisis kompetensi, serta desain kurikulum dan silabus. This article reports an English language needs analysis of Colombian Social Science master’s students. Information from faculty interviews, course syllabi, and student surveys shows that students need English to access and update their disciplinary knowledge through research articles and book chapters to successfully participate in class activities in Spanish, for which low English proficiency and lack of graduate reading skills can be an obstacle. These findings inspired the creation of Reading Research Articles in the Social Sciences course and confirmed the importance of source variety, triangulation, and addressing needs when identified. Methodological and practical contributions are discussed, emphasizing syllabi as key information sources not considered in other needs analyses.

AbstractThe study assessed sexuality health education management for secondary school students with intellectual disabilities in Thai specialized schools. It utilized a mixed-methods approach including a quantitative study via questionnaires and a qualitative analysis through in-depth interviews with teachers and experts. From use of the Priority Needs Index Modified (PNIModified) identification of the highest priority requirements showed that media characteristics understanding, media usage readiness, and content substance were most essential. Effective learning management requires easy-to-use media with stimulating visuals and understandable content. Teachers need expertise in media, teaching techniques, and technology. Aims: To develop a structured process for a transparent, efficient, high-level review of a low-resource biosecurity system (limited by physical infrastructure, financial, and human resources), in order to identify and prioritise key areas for future focus which could then lead to interventions, tailored by country, to improve the system. A key requirement was that the approach developed was culturally sensitive and respectful to Pasifika people within the country. Methods: Animal health and biosecurity systems need to be urgently strengthened by Pacific Island countries and territories (PICTs) if they are to respond to current and future threats. Understanding where additional resources should be allocated to maximise benefit and ensuring buy-in from PICT stakeholders are critical for uptake of any recommendations made. However, there is little available literature on reviewing biosecurity systems, particularly where there is a need for efficiency, simplicity, and cultural sensitivity. A framework was developed through initial in-person consultation between four New Zealand experts who had experience working in international animal health development and support programmes. This was followed by input from informal discussions with selected heads of agriculture in PICTs and included their experiences with previous system reviews, as well as general advice from experts in Pasifika culture. Foundational objectives included simplicity, local inclusivity, and a structured approach, which could be undertaken over a relatively short period of time. A rapid evidence assessment methodology was used to search the available literature (published and grey, search terms biosecurity, system, Pacific, animal, framework, and review used in AND/OR combinations), to establish an evidence base for other methods of biosecurity system review. The developed framework for review of biosecurity systems in low-resource PICTs was based on elements from expert elicitation frameworks, the SurF surveillance evaluation framework and the Performance of Veterinary Services tool from The World Organisation for Animal Health. Results: The developed framework involved bringing stakeholders together in a workshop environment and comprised up to 10 steps including mapping the PICT biosecurity system and exploring attributes of component activities. Understanding the system at a high level enables stakeholders to make informed recommendations on improvements to address future needs. Using the Delphi method, recommendations were then prioritised by stakeholders. Conclusions and clinical relevance: A distinctive difference flowing from the use of the needs analysis described in this process was the empowerment of PICT stakeholders to determine their own needs and priorities, rather than have these developed by external parties. This paper presents findings from a needs analysis survey to determine the extent to which the current English for Specific Purposes (ESP) course for healthcare students meets the needs of this population. A structured questionnaire was shared with the students (N=180) from different healthcare departments to examine the preferability of different aspects. Many participants gave great value to ESP courses whose importance was mainly to learn medical or pharmaceutical terminology and communicative skills. Yet, the participants preferred the conversational content over the grammatical one. Most participants perceived the four English skills as important. The overall conclusion shows that the main objective of an ESP course is language fluency to be able to communicate and achieve any requirement in their career. Moreover, the study shows that the conventional methods of assessment are less preferred and that students prefer assessments where teamwork is involved. They also preferred to receive the learning materials via online or technological methods, and they preferred class activities and audio/video aids. Yet, a great number did not prefer using an English Language Laboratory. Creativity is a crucial skill for future engineers. Hence, it is becoming increasingly important for higher education (HE) engineering educators to foster and enhance engineering students' creative abilities. Simultaneously, online learning has found a place in engineering education. Nevertheless, we find that HE engineering educators in all domains continue to express a sense of inadequacy when it comes to fostering creativity in hybrid and online learning environments. This sentiment persists despite the existence of scholarly work that suggests strategies for addressing these challenges. In this paper, we assume that the rationale behind this is that the proposed pedagogical approaches are primarily established through conceptual reflections, whereas the perspective of the HE engineering educators on the perceived barriers has thus far been largely neglected. Therefore, we present a study that uses data from experience interviews and focus group techniques involving 71 HE engineering educators from Ireland, Germany, Denmark and Turkey to identify the common challenges that HE engineering educators perceive when facilitating creativity in online and hybrid classroom environments. These are used to extend theory by developing a four‐field conceptual model organizing the eight overarching challenges encountered. This model can be used as a basis for defining measures to support HE engineering educators in facilitating creativity online and serves as a guide for future research studies. This study investigated the reading skills of second-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration students majoring in Human Resource Management at Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences, and Technology. The research focused on assessing the importance of reading skills for academic tasks, understanding technical terms, and identifying challenges faced by students. The study utilized TSA, PSA, and LSA to evaluate students' reading proficiency. Data were collected to assess the perceived competence in reading skills and to identify specific areas of difficulty, particularly in understanding central ideas and technical vocabulary. The findings indicated that while many students considered their reading skills competent, they struggled with comprehending central ideas and technical vocabulary. These challenges highlighted the need for tailored reading instruction to meet the academic and professional demands specific to the BSBA major in Human Resource Management. The study concluded that targeted interventions are necessary to address students' difficulties in reading comprehension. The insights gained contributed to the development of curriculum and instructional strategies aimed at enhancing students' English reading skills, thereby better preparing them for future academic and professional endeavors. The study investigated the need for reading skills among undergraduate students in Public Administration at Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences, and Technology. Specifically, it aimed to assess the importance of acquiring reading skills within their specialization and identify the academic difficulties learners encountered. A survey questionnaire was employed in the data acquisition phase tool. The subject of the study was one hundred fifty (150) undergraduate students enrolled in the A.Y. 2024-2025 first semester. The study applied TSA (Target Situation Analysis), PSA (Present Situation Analysis), and LSA (Language Situation Analysis) to gather data through a survey questionnaire. According to the findings, most of the program's participants had trouble grasping the main concepts of English-written subjects and having trouble quickly scanning such texts for the essential information. It is suggested that the findings could be used to design an English language course titled "English for Public Administration" crafted to tackle the specific reading needs of these students and enhance their proficiency in English for their field of specialization. This study investigates the reading skills of undergraduate students from the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural students at Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences, and Technology. The study used Present Situation Analysis and Learning Situation Analysis to assess students' current reading proficiency, the importance of reading skills for various academic tasks, the significance in acquiring specialize technical terminology, and corresponding challenges that students faced. Therefore, findings revealed that, while many students thought their reading skills were sufficient, they struggled to understand central themes and technical jargon. This study aims to explore the need for reading skills among undergraduate students in office administration at Kapalong College of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, Maniki, Kapalong, Davao del Norte. This research seeks to evaluate how well these students comprehend and interact with English texts, which is critical for their course requirements and professional readiness. The subjects for this study were one-hundred-fifty students of office administration discipline in the final semester at the institution. Survey Questionnaires were administered to the population to gather quantitative data on their reading proficiency, preferences, and challenges encountered while engaging with English texts. The findings of the research indicate significant gaps in the reading skills required by office administration students. Many participants reported challenges in understanding technical vocabulary and complex sentence structures found in academic materials and industry-related documents. These findings suggest that there is a need for targeted reading instruction within the curriculum for office administration programs. It is suggested that the findings of the study may be utilized for designing an English language course, namely "English for Office Administration" that suits the target needs of undergraduate students to develop their reading skills in the English language for this specialized discipline in the local college. Integrating local wisdom values in learning aims to improve students' cultural literacy skills. Learning resources are an essential means of implementing learning to achieve these goals, so there is a need for an analysis of the need for learning resources. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative type. The data sources in this research were obtained through pre-test analysis of cultural literacy skills, questionnaire distribution, and interviews to students then the teachers. This research aims to analyze the need for learning resources that can be used to improve Minangkabau cultural literacy skills. The subjects in this research were 20 class IV students at SDN 58, 20 class IV students at SDN 29 Payakumbuh, and 2 class teachers. After tri-angulation processing of the data, it was found that the sourcebook used did not contain various examples of Minangkabau local wisdom, which is part of their immediate environment. Besides that, schools also have adequate potential to meet learning needs. The results of the pre-test show that there is still a lack of cultural literacy skills among 40 students. Out of 40 students that used as samples, the percentage of student learning success is 20%, and the remaining 80% have not met the learning completion requirements. The results of this research reflect that teachers and students need learning resources that are digital and integrated with local Minangkabau wisdom values. This research study reports on the in-service English as a Foreign Language teachers' perceptions of and needs and expectations regarding EIL and EIL-informed pedagogy in Northern Cyprus, which is a multilingual and multicultural teaching-learning context. A mixed method research design was utilized by collecting data through a questionnaire and interviews. A total of 152 in-service EFL teachers responded to the questionnaire, and 23 of them participated in the interviews. The findings of the study indicated that although the teachers welcomed the inclusion of EIL-aware pedagogy, they were hesitant to implement it in their classrooms due to lack of EIL-bound materials and existence of native speaker bound tests. The analysis also showed that teachers are aware of the EIL and EIL-aware pedagogy to some extent, however they lack the practical experience and expertise in order to implement such an approach to their daily practices. The findings of the study are believed to help raise EFL teachers' awareness on how to integrate an EIL-informed approach in not only the local context but also in other multilingual and multicultural teaching-learning contexts worldwide. In addition, their needs and expectations in relation to an in-service course on the topic were identified. Despite the acknowledged importance of integrating creativity into school curricula, students with learning disabilities often lack the skill of creativity, due to its absence in classroom instruction. To address these gaps, the authors developed a needs analysis questionnaire assessing the necessity of a creativity module for primary school students with learning disabilities, focusing on Torrance's four creativity elements: (a) Originality, (b) Fluency, (c) Flexibility, and (d) Elaboration. This study, emphasizing content validity and reliability testing, comprised rigorous validation by a panel of nine special education experts, resulting in high content validity scores. In Part II, all items were accepted, yielding an overall S‐CVI score of 0.97, indicating a 'very suitable' construct. In Part III two items were rejected; the overall S‐CVI score remained at 0.80, signifying 'very suitable'. A pilot test with 30 special education teachers demonstrated Cronbach's Alpha values 0.87, indicating high reliability for all questionnaire parts. The study emphasizes the questionnaire's efficacy in assessing teachers' understanding of creativity skills and their perspectives on the importance of a customized creativity module. This tool holds substantial potential for educators and curriculum developers, providing insights to address specific student needs, foster creativity in classrooms and enhance overall educational experiences. In the academic year 2022/2023, the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University opened Polish studies for foreigners, which enables learning the Polish language as part of university education. Due to the growing number of students from Ukraine, the goals, effects and content of teaching in this field should be transformed to meet the specific linguistic needs of students from beyond the eastern border. The aim of the article is to present the teaching goals and priorities of students from Ukraine. This study aimed to investigate the views of final year students of Department Languages ​​and Translation at Taibah University regarding the skills required for professional success through the needs analysis approach. This study investigated the perspectives of 100 final year translation and interpretation students at Taibah University in Saudi Arabia regarding the professional competencies needed for career success. A 21-item Likert-scale needs analysis questionnaire captured students' views. The results showed that students showed high agreement on the skill importance (M=4.55). The results showed that students at high level considered the sufficiently of current translation approach (M=3.72). Students also highly agreed on the existed substantial barriers with 3.78. Finally, students reported with very high rate (4.2) about the necessity of making changing in the curriculum practices. The study recommends aligning efforts with competency priorities reported by students promises continuously optimized outcomes. Recurring assessment input as stakeholders informs responsive planning per evolving needs amidst global demands. This methodology elevates student perspectives to guide curriculum improvements towards employer-relevant skill-building.

The aim of this study is to determine the needs of the curriculum for beginner level Turkish music solo clarinet education. For this purpose, a survey modeled approach, one of the qualitative research methods, was adopted. The research data were obtained through a semi-structured interview form. Four academicians were asked eight questions on the subject and the audio recordings of the interviews were analyzed and evaluated by content analysis technique. The study group of the research represents the entire population. As a result of the research; in Turkish music solo clarinet education at the beginner level; educators apply the curricula they have created themselves, and accordingly, they adopt a more flexible and practical approach in the curricula they apply due to the effort to take into account the individual differences of the students. While preparing the curricula of Turkish music clarinet educators; it was understood that they attach importance to posture, grip, breathing and tonal music-oriented practices in order for students to produce quality sounds, improve their intonation and gain mastery of their instruments.

The use of dictionaries in beginner-level BIPA learning is important, considering the limited vocabulary students master. Things like this apply to formal students in class and Handai Indonesia who are in Indonesia. Handai Indonesia refers to foreign citizens who can speak Indonesian. Apart from being required to adapt to learning in the classroom, Handai Indonesia, who immediately learned Indonesian in Indonesia, was also necessary to survive in his new living environment. Therefore, there needs to be supported vocabulary materials packaged based on their needs. Supported by this vocabulary material, it can be made into a special thematic survival dictionary that is easy to use. This research analyzes Handai Indonesia's need for a survival thematic dictionary. The method used in this research is descriptive. The needs analysis results show that public transportation is the place or situation that Handai Indonesia most needs in terms of survivability in Indonesia. Many Handai Indonesians experience vocabulary problems when using public transportation services, so they need a transportation-themed survival dictionary, and the type of dictionary they need is a digital dictionary. Images contain explanations and examples of sentences, conversations, and audio. Selain dituntut untuk dapat beradaptasi dengan pembelajaran di kelas, Handai Indonesia yang langsung belajar bahasa Indonesia di Indonesia juga dituntut untuk dapat bertahan hidup di lingkungan tempat tinggalnya yang baru. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya sokongan materi kosakata yang dikemas berdasarkan kebutuhan mereka. Sokongan materi kosakata tersebut dapat dibuat menjadi sebuah kamus khusus kesintasan yang bersifat tematik sehingga mudah digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan Handai Indonesia terhadap kamus tematik kesintasan. Metode yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Hasil analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa transportasi umum menjadi tempat atau situasi yang paling banyak dibutuhkan handai Indonesia dalam hal kesintasan di Indonesia. Para handai Indonesia banyak mengalami kendala kosakata pada saat menggunakan layanan transportasi umum sehingga membutuhkan kamus kesintasan bertema transportasi dan jenis kamus yang mereka butuhkan adalah jenis kamus digital, rancangan awal kamus dilakukan berdasarkan hasil analisis kebutuhan dengan pengembangan lema kesintasan tema transportasi berbantuan aplikasi digital Android dengan fitur gambar dilengkapi dengan penjelasan dan contoh kalimat, percakapan, dan suara. Supplemental Digital Content is Available in the Text. Basketball is a multidirectional sport that holds unique and multifaceted physiologic demands. Strength and conditioning professionals should consider addressing sports performance and injury mitigation in basketball using a thorough needs analysis. However, one must acknowledge that not all basketball athletes are the same. Specifically, school-aged female basketball players sustain injuries at a significantly higher rate than their male counterparts, particularly at the knee and ankle. Adolescent females also have unique maturational characteristics and concerns. Consequently, it is reasonable to surmise that female adolescent basketball players have unique strength and conditioning needs to be considered when designing training programs to improve performance and mitigate injury. Currently, there is limited peer-reviewed literature to aid strength and conditioning practitioners working with this population. The purpose of this paper is to review the unique attributes and needs of adolescent female basketball players while offering practical guidance in testing and assessment, strength training, conditioning, and injury mitigation for their sport. Bad habits among students of higher education institutions is an important and growing issue in modern society. Bad habits may not seem so critical at first, but over time, they will develop into serious issues that cannot be ignored. If left unchecked, this habit in modern society can pose a major threat to individual well-being, public health, and economic stability. The importance of smartphone and Internet use has contributed to the increase in behavioral addictions, such as gaming, social media, and Internet use disorders, as well as facilitating substance abuse, including alcohol. In addition, modern lifestyles often lead to bad habits such as excessive consumption of fast food and lack of physical activity, which contribute to chronic health problems and mental stress. Concerns about the negative effects that may arise from these bad habits are increasing, including the impact on individual well-being that affects learning performance. This study aims to examine the needs and difficulties of students in controlling their bad habits, that are useful for developing a mobile application that uses persuasive techniques to empower students in overcoming those bad habits. This study applies the Waterfall Model as an application development methodology. The needs analysis phase examines the problems of bad habits faced by students, including smartphone addiction, internet use disorders, and lack of physical activity. The design of the Indomitable Application will emphasize functions that are important in supporting users to control bad habits, including progress trackers, reminders, and motivational elements. Testing and integration will ensure the effectiveness and usability of this application in real use situations. This study emphasizes the importance of overcoming bad habits among students of higher education institutions and offers innovative solutions through the Indomitable Application that uses persuasive techniques. The contribution of this study provides the necessary support and empower students in achieving better well-being. It is hoped that this application can provide the necessary reinforcement to students in facing the challenges of their bad habits, as well as empowering them to achieve better health and well-being in university life and after graduation. The global blossoming of doctoral education calls for a better understanding of doctoral candidates’ needs concerning thesis writing. Although scholars proclaim the particular difficulty of writing a thesis discussion, empirical studies on doctoral students’ needs for the discussion chapter are insufficient. To fill the gap, using individual interviews, we investigated seven candidates’ views on challenges and helpful resources, noting L1/L2 students’ differences regarding writing the discussion. We found that students perceived challenges differently: challenges (or absence of challenge) are connected with individual situations. We also found that students relied mainly on supervisors to help them with thesis discussion writing and yet supervisors sometimes were not able to provide sufficient guidance. Lastly, we found L1 candidates had ideologically related reasons for writing choices whereas L2 candidates’ reasons were to fit in. Another L1/L2 difference is that L2 students reported using more resources for language difficulty than L1 students did. We draw on sociocultural theory to make sense of these findings to offer insights into pedagogy. Introduction: In recent decades, electronic medical records (EMR) have been widely used in healthcare, replacing traditional paper records. EMRs are mainly found in large hospitals or specific clinical departments, but notably, the Diet Clinic of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) still relies on paper-based records for patient data. Therefore, there is a compelling need to introduce EMR into the clinic's operation. As such, this study aims to identify the characteristics and needs of the users for the development of a comprehensive nutritional care database management system, namely DietCARE. Methods: A needs analysis was conducted through a combination of methods, including observations, clinical staff interviews, discussions with Informative Technology (IT) experts, patients' records reviews, and literature reviews. Results: Results show that a total of 186 patients visited the clinic from 2018 to 2022, with the majority of patients requiring nutrition counselling on weight management (80.6%), while the remaining patients had diet-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The weaknesses and limitations of paper-based records at the clinic include unorganized and incomplete data, difficulty keeping track of appointment schedules, concern for the security of the data, and duplicate files. In the development of this system, DietCARE will be designed as a web application, using a specialized approach to ensure alignment with the standards of practice for nutrition and dietetics. Conclusion: Based on this analysis, there is a clear need to develop a comprehensive nutritional care database management system, along with its constituent elements and parameters. English for Civil and Mechanical Engineering is a rather understudied and less explored facet of English for Specific/Academic Purposes, yet one that is still in emergence. When it comes to English for Specific Purposes, one of the most crucial skills is the ability to read professionally-oriented materials. This paper attempts to provide an overview of why reading, among all the skills, is so important when teaching ESP. Forasmuch as reading is unanimously considered a cognitive process focusing on language acquisition, communication, and exchanging information and ideas, ESP teachers now have a distinctive viewpoint on the importance of reading in the language classroom and the types of texts that can be used in instruction. Since language education and ESP, in particular, adopt a communicative approach, we think that our recommendations could be useful, flexible enough to fit into, or even modified for different purposes. A case study focusing on the observation and evaluation of student's academic performance was part of the research method. Students were questioned concerning their educational backgrounds, reading comprehension skills, and reading motivation. To create a well-designed curriculum, we started by assessing our students' needs, wants, and lacks through a questionnaire and by attempting to manage the intricacy of civil and mechanical engineering sciences to gather data that might aid in the creation of a powerful, meaningful ESP course. English for Specific Purposes (ESP) syllabuses based on students' needs are assumed to be interesting and motivating to students as they maximise language learning. This is because they contribute to preparing students for specific targets in their prospective profession or academic study. This study aimed at revealing Saudi tour guides target needs for English language, determining whether an existing ESP syllabus taught to tourism students in a public Saudi university meets these needs, and proposing an English for Tour Guides (ETG) to address those needs. The study adopted the qualitative approach by using an interview with four tourism companies' managers and document analysis. It draws on the results of the needs analysis (NA) reported by Aldosari et al. (2023) who investigated the target needs of about 50 Saudi tour guides for English. Results showed that the tour guides need speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. Introducing oneself and others, greeting, giving directions/instructions, and informing are the most recurrent language functions. In addition, we found that the syllabus that is taught to tour guides in a Saudi university does not meet their needs for English language.
