Gebel Moya, officially known as Site 100, is a large agricultural-pastoral site located below the Nile’s Sixth Cataract in Sudan. It lies between the Blue Nile and White Nile in what is now a semi-desert environment. It was first excavated by Henry Wellcome in the early twentieth century and was known as a cemetery until 2017, when fieldwork was renewed by a joint international mission. Current excavations show that, in addition to being a major cemetery, the site bears traces of Mesolithic habitation. Over a period of 5,000 years the area witnessed rapid climate change, and ongoing work is focused on reconstructing the ancient flora and fauna. It is now clear that Site 100, long considered insignificant by scholars, was home to dynamic communities across the millennia.

Misogynoir Transformed is a pioneering work by Moya Bailey that offers a groundbreaking analysis of misogynoir and the transformative strategies for social change in contemporary digital society. Through careful analysis of media representations, web series, and social media platforms, Bailey reveals how Black women and Black nonbinary, agender, and gender-variant folks encounter and resist damaging narratives. Bailey also introduces the conceptual framework of digital alchemy to conceptualize the praxis that Black women employ to transform harmful everyday media into valuable social justice media, which functions to reduce the negative effects of misogynoir and create their own safe and inclusive community. This transformative activity highlights the dual effects of visibility—it is empowering but also precarious. Bailey’s work is evidence of how digital platforms have the positive power to reduce misogynoir and reshape the discourse on gender diversity and social justice.

Purpose: The incidence and risk factors associated with radiation-induced Moya-Moya Syndrome (RIMMS) in pediatric brain tumor patients treated with proton radiotherapy (PRT) remain poorly understood. The objective of this study was to determine the incidence of RIMMS in the setting of CNS proton radiotherapy (PRT) in a pediatric cohort and assess its relationship with dose to the Circle of Willis (COW) or optic chiasm (OC)., Methods & Materials: We performed a retrospective review of pediatric brain tumor patient treated with intracranial PRT (1995-2021). The exposure of interest was mean dose to the optic chiasm due to close proximity to the COW vasculature. Wilcoxon rank-sum test was used to determine the association between OC dose and RIMMS. Univariable logistic regression modeling was used to determine the odds of developing RIMMS based on a cutpoint of 52Gy., Results: Of 676 patients, 14 developed RIMMS, with a median onset of 1.9 years. The cumulative incidence of RIMMS at 8 years was 2.4%. Patients with RIMMS had higher mean OC dose than those without (51.5 Gy vs 23.7 Gy, p<0.0001). Univariable logistic regression showed patients with an OC dose > 52 Gy had increased RIMMS risk compared to those with dose < 52 Gy (OR = 9.9, p<0.001)., Conclusions: The incidence of RIMMS remains low in our primarily proton-treated pediatric cohort with a cumulative incidence of 2.4% over 8 years and is similar to photon-treated cohorts. This paper reports on a study that integrated two instant messaging applications (Moya Messenger App and WhatsApp) and a myUnisa's online discussion forum (ODF), and utilised them as tools to support student learning at an open and distance e-learning university in South Africa. The participants in this study were 41 undergraduate education students enrolled for an undergraduate English Studies module. Employing a case study research design, the study utilised voluntary sampling to select its participants, and set out to answer three research questions. Data were collected through the three afore-mentioned tools. To this effect, the study made the following observations. First, both the instructor and students were able to engage in asynchronous and synchronous scaffolding using Moya Messenger App. This included engaging in features of scaffolding such as orientation, coaching, conceptual scaffolding and meta-cognitive scaffolding, largely by the instructor. Second, the instructor used Moya Messener App to engage in presence teaching, while students utilised it to engage in presence learning. Third, students utilised WhatsApp to produce short synchronous formal essays based on a compare and contrast essay writing activity. Fourth and last, students used myUnisa's ODF to produce meta-content reflective writing about the module.

Key Clinical Message Coincidences in medicine are not so common. We are presenting a case of a patient diagnosed with Moya‐Moya disease and antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) who presented with clinical and laboratory characteristics of catastrophic APS versus TTP. The diagnosis was a challenge because characteristics were overlapping. Nevertheless, a decision to treat the patient for TTP was made with afterward improvement. MMD has been associated with multiple immune disorders; however, only one case of acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura has been documented in association with this disease. None has been associated with catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome. We are presenting a challenging case where all these three medical conditions were present at the same time.

Baile con serpientes (1996) by Salvadoran writer Horacio Castellanos Moya narrates a symptomatic violence due to the emerging economic order of neoliberalism during the official transition to peace. The present study attends to the novel's sonic register to show how silence, noise, and music reinscribe the memory of the civil war in a tumultuous present. Fueled by neoliberal rationality, the main character attunes to a hyper-masculine voice as a means of participating in Central America's emerging consumerist, post-conflict society. The following draws on Sayak Valencia's concept of the endriago subject--a masculine subjectivity rooted in the exercise of violence as necroempowerment--to signal the violent transformation of the main character into a celebrity due to media attention. Sound--whether unpleasant noise or melodious music--becomes a fulcrum upon which protagonist Eduardo Sosa's neoliberal subjectivity alternately emerges and is repressed by a reactionary state. The following will demonstrate how the sonorously gory scenes described in the novel resonate with the unresolved social corruption which facilitates the persistence of violence in the neoliberal present. The textual representation of silence, noise, and music recasts Sosa's violent disruption to incorporate himself into a masculine and violent postwar era. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Joaquín de Yrizar Moya (1793-1878) es un representante peculiar de la Contrailustración. Nacido en una familia guipuzcoana de élite, durante su larga vida experimentó una profunda evolución ideológica: liberal exaltado en su primera juventud, se distanciaría de los principios ilustrados mientras adoptaba tesis cada vez más conservadoras hasta abrazar el carlismo. Militar y matemático de formación, escribió varias obras sobre el origen de las lenguas, las naciones o los mitos, y publicó opúsculos contra las que él consideraba ser derivas materialistas de la modernidad. Sus textos revelan la nostalgia por una sociedad confesional y jerárquica, pero, al mismo tiempo, sostienen que el conocimiento del pasado puede contribuir al progreso, entendido este como una realización de los planes de la Providencia. Esta visión del progreso aúna elementos aparentemente contradictorios, mostrando las diversas lecturas que este concepto pudo adquirir en la primera sociedad liberal.

The article describes a clinical case of neurorehabilitation with a multimodal approach of a young patient with repeated ischemic strokes against the background of a rare chronic progressive cerebrovascular disease moya-moya disease. The multimodal approach consisted in the use of high-tech complexes with biofeedback, such as a stabilometric platform for visual and support reactions, cognitive training using computer technologies, as well as mirror therapy, physiotherapy procedures and physical therapy, including physiotherapy exercises and individual targeted training with paretic limbs. In accordance with the clinical scales used, convincing data were obtained on the effectiveness of the selected complex of rehabilitation measures.
