Data on the history of mineralogical research and knowledge in Ukraine from ancient times to the 90s of the XX century are concentrates in the thorough final work and the prehistory, origin, formation and comprehensive development («golden age») of mineralogy in Ukraine are characterized in varying detail. It is shown that mineralogical researches acquire systemicity from the 50s of the XX century, thanks mainly to the activities of the Lviv Geological and Ukrainian Mineralogical Societie, Lviv University and M. P. Semenenko Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Ore Formation оf the NAS of Ukraine. The analysis shows that Ukrainian scientists in difficult conditions without their statehood, as part of various metropolises, developed the basic principles of mineralogical science, and therefore it, as soon as geopolitically it became possible, reached its apogee in the «golden age» of mineralogy. It was marked by significant fundamental achievements, which in the complex contributed to the compilation of various geological maps as a basis for the creation of the Geological Survey of Ukraine schemes for the distribution of fields of metallic and non-metallic minerals. The problem of discovering new minerals and publishing a modern monographic compilation of Ukraine,such as the multivolume «Mineralogical Encyclopedia of Ukraine», remains acute. The new modern edition on the history of mineralogy in Ukraine is timely and extremely necessary for specialists in the field of Earth sciences and other fields of science, so it can be used by scientists, teachers, geologists, historians, graduate students and students, as well as the general public community., У ґрунтовній підсумковій праці сконцентровано відомості з історії розвитку мінералогічних досліджень і знань в Україні від найдавніших часів до 90-х років ХХ ст. та схарактеризовано з різною детальністю передісторію,зародження, становлення і всебічний розвиток («золотий вік») мінералогії в Україні. Показано, що системності мінералогічні дослідження набувають з 50-х років ХХ ст. завдяки головно діяльності Львівського геологічного та Українського мінералогічного товариств, Львівського університету імені Івана Франка та Інституту геохімії, мінералогії та рудоутворення імені М.П. Семененка НАН України. Аналіз засвідчує, що українські учені у складних умовах без своєї державності, у складі різноманітних метрополій, розвивали основні засади мінералогічної науки, і тому вона, як тільки геополітично це стало за можливе, досягла апогею у «золотий вік» мінералогії. Він ознаменувався вагомими фундаментальними здобутками, що у комплексі сприяло складанню різнотипних геологічних карт як підгрунтя для створення Геологічною службою України схем поширення родовищ металевих і неметалевих корисних копалин. Гострою залишається проблема відкриття нових мінералів і видання сучасного монографічного зведення України на кшталт багатотомної «Мінералогічної енциклопедії України». Нове сучасне видання з історії мінералогії в Україні своєчасне і вкрай потрібне для фахівців у галузі наук про Землю та інших галузях науки. Його з користю можуть використовувати як науковці, викладачі, геологи-практики, історики науки, аспіранти й студенти, так і широка спільнота.

Ojo de la Reina is the first and the smallest cave intersected at the -290 level in the Naica Mine (Mexico), therefore it was the first cavity in which the lowering of temperature induced by mine ventilation caused condensation over crystals’ surface since 2005. The consequent dissolution of the gypsum crystals and subsequent condensed water evaporation lead to the deposition of several new minerals, among which some highly soluble Mg/Na compounds (bloedite, epsomite, halite, hexahydrite, kieserite, starkeyite). The single available source of Mg and Na ions in this minerogenetic environment is represented by the huge fluid inclusions widespread within the crystals. The condensation occurs mainly along the widened principal exfoliation (010) planes, and allows to an easy and fast opening of the fluid inclusions that consequently drip Mg-rich fluids stored inside them. Finally the evaporation of the relatively small volumes of involved water allows to the development of the high soluble Mg and Na compounds.

Ряд формаційних ознак, мінералогенез, метасоматичні зміни порід, встановлені закономірності міграційно-еміграційних процесів з фракціонуванням нафти в горизонті “бориславського пісковику” в південно-східній частині Бориславо-Покутської зони дають підстави стверджувати про ймовірність залягання покладів нафти в пластах пологого, крутоспадаючого і перекиненого залягань на незначних глибинах у випадках наявності тектонічних, стратиграфічних, (а інколи і гідродинамічних) екранів., A number of formational features, mineralogenesis, metasomatic transformations of rocks, and determined patterns of migration and immigration processes with oil fractionation in the horizon “Borislav sandstone” in the south-eastern part of the Boryslav-Pokuttia zone suggest that the probability of finding oil deposits in low-dipping, steep, and overturned formations at shallow depths in the case of tectonic, stratigraphic, and hydrodynamic screens.

En este trabajo se describe la naturaleza y características de los minerales que precipitan en biofilms desarrollados en una surgencia de un acuífero carbonatado en Almería y se analizan las posibles interacciones biominerálogicas de estas estructuras. Se considera que estas estructuras organominerales representan buenos análogos de texturas similares en depósitos tipo travertínico asociados a surgencias, en base a su comparación con un complejo travertínico que aflora en sus proximidades (García-del-Cura et al. 2008). Un estudio preliminar de estos depósitos (García del Cura et al., 2009) indica que se componen de calcita de bajo contenido en Mg, y, en menor cantidad, de dolomita, yeso y barita.
