Introduction. The purpose of the article is to assess the economic consequences of the transfer in 1947 of the director of the Urals Machine-Building Plant (UZTM) B. G. Muzrukov into the system of the Soviet atomic project for the subsequent development of production at UZTM. B. G. Muzrukov was the main initiator, developer and organizer of the reconversion program carried out at UZTM since 1944. His transfer coincided with the height of its implementation. Materials and Methods. The authors used statistical and clerical materials on the activities of UZTM in 1946–1953. Based on the annual accounting reports of the plant for its main activities, dynamic statistical series of data were compiled on the implementation of the UZTM plan for the shaft and nomenclature of products (method of average percentage). The information obtained was analyzed in the context of the planning targets, personnel changes, and the state of production discipline at the plant. Results and Discussion. It was established that the reassignment of B. G. Muzrukov aggravated the problems associated with the implementation of the production reconversion program at UZTM. They were marked in a number of internal and external factors (drop in reporting rates, conflicts in the workforce, changes in planned buildings, adjustments to the reconversion program by the relevant ministry). Conclusion. The tested/shown method of analysis and evaluation of the results of the UZTM operation can be extended to other industrial enterprises of the USSR in the 1940s–1950s. The subsequent analysis of the data in dynamics and comparison will allow the professional community to expand its own understanding of the specifics of the functioning of the industry in the period of the late Stalinism.

The purpose of the article is to study the management of production potential of machine-building enterprises in the Kharkiv region, 9 enterprises were analyzed and their production indicators were studied. The effectiveness of the production potential is characterized by production, technological, financial and innovative components. It should be noted that since the production potential is a component of the economic potential of the enterprise, the structure presented in Fig. 1 is quite conditional. If we consider the production potential from this point of view, then, for example, its innovative component is inextricably linked with the innovative potential, and the financial component – with the financial potential. Sustainable development and competitiveness of an industrial enterprise depends on the level of production potential, which is the foundation of production activity. The production potential of an industrial enterprise is a complex, dynamic and stochastic system consisting of a number of interconnected components. At the legislative level, an attempt has been made to build a single model of an integrated indicator of the financial condition of large, medium and small enterprises. According to the approved IFI Procedure for assessing the financial condition of a potential beneficiary of an investment project, the level of financial condition of the enterprise is determined depending on the value of the integrated indicator, which allows the classification of enterprises in the industry or region. At the same time, questions about the structure of innovation potential remain controversial in the scientific literature. The development of an integrated module for the assessment of production potential is the first stage of the presented methodological approach. The next step is to improve the information subsystem of monitoring the financial and economic activity of industrial enterprises, which in turn is an integral part of the IT system of enterprise management. At this stage, it is necessary to develop software that provides analysis and comprehensive assessment of production capacity. After integrating the software module with IS monitoring, we have to test the software using the collected database on the financial and economic activity of the enterprise. Comparing the results of the assessment with the assessment from the analytical reports of independent experts will allow to determine the level of adequacy of the presented model and software. Methodology. The analysis was conducted on the basis of financial statements of enterprises of the machine-building industry of Kharkiv region for the period 2018, 2019, 2020. Results of the study show that the enterprises of the machine-building industry have low indicators of production potential, so enterprises need to change the strategy in the market to improve production capacity to increase competitiveness and improve. Practical implications. Given that companies have lost traditional markets in recent years and products are not in high demand in European markets, it is necessary to develop ways to improve the management of the potential of machine-building enterprises, seek new markets and strengthen cooperation with international companies. Value/originality. The study will help the management of enterprises to more effectively manage the enterprise and improve their production capacity.

This paper compares stresses arising in the tool material of combined end-milling cutters and their admissible values with the purpose of preventing cutter destruction. The limit stress values of tool materials for the developed endmilling hard-alloy combined cutters having an interfaced cutting part and tailpiece were investigated. The cutting part was made of a tool-grade hard alloy, and the tailpiece was made of structural steel. To determine stresses, simulation modelling was carried out in the ANSYS and Deform software. The cutting force components were found experimentally. It was assumed that lower cutting force components lead to lower stresses in the tool material. This results in a lower probability of tool material destruction. The process of cutting the hard-to-cut stainless steel 12Kh18N10T was considered at the following parameters: a cutting speed of 70 m/min, a cutting depth of 1 mm, and a feeding of 0.1 mm/tooth. The tool material VK8 with no coating and with various coatings promoting the reduction of cutting force components was studied. It was confirmed that a combined end-milling cutter 16 mm in diameter and 92 mm long can be used to cut parts with the same accuracy as using a solid end-milling hard-alloy cutter. An increase in the length of combined cutters decreases the cutting accuracy; however, for lengths 123 and 180 mm, these cutters can be used to manufacture parts applied in general machine building. Therefore, combined end-milling cutters can compete with solid cutters in terms of the manufacturing accuracy and resilience period, which limits the existing applicability of solid cutters. The cost of combined cutters is 10–60% lower than that of solid cutters.

The article defines the main factors of increasing the competitiveness of the machine-building complex in the integration economic area. The relationship between the factors of comparative competitive advantages of export-oriented engineering production and the structure of commodity exports is presented in the article. A methodology for assessing the competitiveness of the machine-building complex is proposed, which is focused on determining its comparative advantages in prospective segments of export commodity groups. The results of testing the methodology on the basis of statistical data of export segments of the commodity groups of machine-building industry in the CIS countries are presented.

With the ability to quickly create prototypes and being necessary to run Fab Academy, laser cutters are the workhorse in every Fablab. Furthermore, because of their ease of usage, they are often the most used machines and the first to be approached by inexperienced makers. However, laser cutters are currently an expensive purchase for Fablabs, usually being the most expensive machine in their inventory and mainly available as commercial closed source products. In the concept of Fablab 2.0, the machines used in the lab are replicated by the machines present in it, allowing the “transition from buying a Lab to making a Lab” (Neil Gershenfeld, 2022). The making of machines instead of buying, implies several advantages beyond the machine capabilities itself, such as open source inclusiveness, distributed development, the learning of the processes for hardware replication, the understanding of how the machine works, customization and more. To jointly address laser cutting needs of Fablabs and Fablabs 2.0 research, Fabulaser Mini was developed by Daniele Ingrassia in 2021 at InMachines Ingrassia GmbH (Germany). It has been conceptualised as a small format laser cutter, prioritising open source design, replicability, affordability, performance and safety. To fulfil the purpose of the machine replication, Liane Sayuri Honda and Marc Kohlen joined the team to develop the assembly manual of Fabulaser Mini. With a BOM (Bill Of Materials) of about 2000€ at the time of writing, Fabulaser Mini has been replicated in more than 7 machine-building workshops and can be produced using standard Fablab equipment. It is the first open source laser cutter in the Fablab inventory, and has been used by Fab Academy students. Derived from Fabulaser Mini, OSLK Small Laser, is currently part of the Open Lab Starter Kit, an open source set of machines developed within the project Fab City Hamburg, in cooperation with the Helmut Schmidt University (Germany). In this paper, the authors will describe the processes behind the development of Fabulaser Mini. The machine design will be discussed considering fabrication, performance, usability and safety. The production process will be explained, including the required machines, materials and recommendations. Information about the structuring, creation and visualisation of the assembly steps will be given, addressing the making of the assembly manual. Current achievements and facts will be used to evaluate the results.

The paper considers current trends of innovative development as a concept of structural modernization of the machine-building industry of Ukraine. The impact of the pandemic coronavirus on industrial enterprises of the machine-building industry in the world and Ukraine is analyzed. The basic tendencies of development of trade in the investigated sector in the conditions of quarantine and measures of stimulation of business in machine-building branch are revealed. The analysis of the current state, problems and perspectives of innovative development of machine-building branch in Ukraine for the period of 2010–2020 is carried out in the paper. The available types of forms of modernization of machine-building industry in Ukraine are analyzed. It is found out that the state of their development is insufficient, which requires the elaboration of further strategies of activation of activity both at the national and regional level. Determined a set of factors that influence the formation of the ability to implement machine-building enterprises innovations. The main groups of identified factors include infrastructure and accessibility, development of society, as well as the production environment. Structural differentiation by the level of their costs for innovations in the industry was analyzed. It has been established that in Ukraine there is extremely low state financing in the aspect of innovations development. Own funds of the machine-building enterprises, with a share of 96 % is the main source of investment in innovation activity of the industry. It is determined that for this purpose, it is necessary to expand the vision and develop a strategic roadmap that would allow to promote innovation. The priority of expanding the tools of innovation policy is justified. The need to create a fundamentally new concept of innovative development, providing the use of a mixture of policies and encompass vertical and horizontal understanding of these processes has been proved. It has been established that the management of the new innovation policy of machine building industry in Ukraine should provide the use of multi-level, open and network structures.

The scientific principles and methods of effective organization of personnel labor and lean production at the enterprises of the machine-building complex are described. Subject. The paper explores the development of Russia's machine-building industry against the background of preconditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. We examine factors, influencing the development of the industry to formulate strategic decisions and implement policies to encourage further automation and digitalization. Objectives. The aim is to scrutinize the condition of the machine-building industry and its problems, arising in the modern objective reality and in connection with the onset of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Methods. From the perspective of the systems theory of the economy, implemented in the RAS, we analyze the main aspects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the key factors that determine the willingness of countries and enterprises to enter a new objective reality. Results. The paper considers the impact of existing factors on the industry development in the new environment and analyzes individual indicators of growth rate. It investigates the machine-building production and growth rates in Russia, worldwide, and in the European Union over the past seven years, as well as the impact of some deflators, like gross domestic product, industrial production index, fixed investment and inflation on the domestic machine-building industry development, reviews and analyzes leading enterprises. Conclusions. We present the elements of conceptual approach to a technological economic model, which contribute to strengthening the production capacity of non-resource-based industries in the Russian economy.

In May of 2021 Donetsk National Technical University celebrates 100-years anniversary. Facts of its history of foundation, formation and development presented. The role of DonNTU in training of highly qualified professionals not only for Donbass, but for the whole Soviet Union, Russia and for near 100 world countries, as well as in development of science in the region shown. It was noted that at present DonNTU is a center of training of highly qualified professionals not only in traditional for industrial Donbass industries (mining, metallurgy, machine building, chemistry and others), but also in all the directions of informationcomputer technologies, extremely important for formation of digital economics.

This paper analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of the normatives' controlling against the operational and strategic controlling. The general focus in studies and focus of the controlling experts is mostly on the operational controlling. For the analysis of the normatives' controlling in Bavarian SMEs a primary research data set is used. The survey was aimed on Bavarian SME's in the machine building sector. We employ regression models for the assessment of significance of the influencing factors, which are causing the negation of the normatives' controlling. We use monthly hours worked in the normatives' controlling, percentage acceptance of the normatives' controlling, used normatives' controlling instruments and the number of employees working in the controlling department as the influencing factors. The empirical evidence shows significant results affecting Bavarian SME's - Acceptance (monthly capacity of the head of controlling department) was identified as a significant variable on a statistically significant level with the estimated coefficient of 0.217 in relation to the Hours (monthly hours of work capacity) of normatives' controlling departments, and Instruments (number of instruments used) were proved to significantly influence the Employees (number of employees in controlling department) with the coefficient of 2.099. With the growing importance of the ability of an organization to publicly demonstrate its success in reaching objectives and specifically in its societal impacts, the importance of setting normatives and their control will project into higher demands on the work capacity of the controlling departments.

Currently, the methodology of system engineering is being formed, the product of which is, as usual, the creation of real objects information models, supplemented by virtual components, and on the contrary, virtual objects, supplemented by real components. For example, an information model of a technological object is a specification of real equipment, supplemented by a specification of the purchased equipment of a technological process and on the contrary. By analogy with general engineering in the field of technical activity, the metastructures of such information models must meet the V-shaped structure of the validation and verification processes. Therefore, models should be regularly checked during their life cycle to ensure that their structure and parameters correspond to real and virtual objects. At the present, there are conditions for a coordinated decision of technological objects system information modeling, taking into account their internal (physical) structure and of the digital environment the external structure. In general theoretical terms, the construction of system models is based on the problem of formal consistent description (grammatical calculus) of the structure and functional regularities of a set of objects and their connections in the subject area under study. The presented approach of the subject area system modeling under consideration is based on the classical model of a machine-building enterprise (MP) educational and production activities and a university. Aim. To apply the principles of the design approach for the formation of a corporate information system (CIS) engineering company metastructure digital twin, to explore the prospects of its application, to show the key information components in the management of subject-oriented knowledge and data, as well as the ability to scale technology in the formation of a digital environment for architecture and modern MP, improving the efficiency of business processes participants interaction. Materials and methods. The principles of the system engineering methodo¬logy (process approach, life cycle, etc.), an integrated approach and structural analysis of the design process according to the SADT (Structured Analysis and Design Technology) methodology, and the TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) methodology are used. Results. The proposed approach for system modeling the subject area is the development of works of the authors, demonstrates the possibility of scaling on the example of interaction of participants of the REC using part of the University's digital twin KIS enterprises of the real sector of the economy. The requisite of developing a knowledge management model and the increasing role of information search engines are shown. Conclusion. The proposed approach expands the application of the digital twin metastructure, allows correcting the enterprise architecture to improve the efficiency of business processes.

The Russian aviation industry is one of the most important high-tech and science-intensive branches of machine building. The aircraft building enterprises employ about 150 thousand workers, whose conditions do not meet sanitary and hygienic requirements. The purpose of the article is to analyze working conditions and assess occupational health risks for aviation workers on the example of an aircraft plant. The object of research is Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, which is the largest enterprise in the Republic of Buryatia and part of Russian Helicopters JSC. It was found that the risk of occupational diseases is determined by harmful physical (industrial noise) and chemical (harmful substances) factors, as well as severity of the labor process. The largest deviations of the levels of professional risk from the maximum permissible level were revealed for the follwoing professions "screenman", "assembler" and "assembler of hydraulic units". The risks are "high" and "medium". For upholsterer and regulators of electromechanical and radio-technical equipment, the risks are within the permissible working conditions. It is necessary to reduce professional risks by modernizing production and its technological processes: replacing obsolete equipment with modern one, introducing the best available technologies, and automating processes.

The purpose of the article is to analyse the current state of development of Ukraine’s mechanical engineering, looking at export trends of mechanical engineering products across product groups and the main importing countries. The analysis indicates that Ukrainian exports of engineering products have declined significantly in recent years. The low export orientation of machine-building production is mainly due to the low level of innovation investment, as a result of which the technological development of Ukraine’s machine building industry not aligned with the requirements of the global market. The author indicates directions of machine-building production that can make the Ukrainian industry more competitive in the future arguing that thanks to the current production capacity and technological skills, availability of the labour force, research institutions, opportunities for international cooperation, Ukraine is well-positioned to increase the export potential of the mechanical engineering industry.

a spatio-temporal analysis of the main indicators of the water quality of the Hodza River, the change in time of water quality along the river under the conditions of anthropogenic impact is carried out. In general, the waters of the river are characterized as “extremely dirty”. Among the pollutants, iron and ammonium nitrogen compounds absolutely prevail. There is a tendency to some improvement in the quality of river waters downstream. In the upper reaches, the COD is 1.7 and 2.5 times higher than in the middle and upper reaches; BOD – 1.6 and 2.3 times, respectively.

The article shows that effective organization of occupational health and safety (OHS) at industrial enterprises have not only social, but also technical and economic consequences. Analysis of the dependences of the frequency and the severity coefficients of occupational injuries on the cost of OHS measures allowed to draw an important conclusion, that with insufficient funding for injuries protection, the level of injuries remains high enough, and with increasing OHS funds the level of injuries decreases significantly. However, there comes a situation, when further economic stimulation of injuries protection measures does not yield significant results. Definition of technical and economic criteria for assessing the production system from occupational safety indicators is proposed using the apparatus of the probability and queuing theories. An example of calculating the downtime of process equipment due to occupational injuries in the shop of mechanical engineering plant is considered.

The purpose of this article is to improve the mechanism of economic security of enterprise`s strategic interests on example of machine-building enterprises of Ukraine. It is substantiated in article that existing and described in the literature mechanisms for ensuring strategic economic security have omissions. It is related with retrospective analysis of hazards (threats) and focus on resource provision. The article relations nonlinearity between level / state of economic security and results of its provision and management, provoked by influence of business environment factors beyond control of enterprise, is determined. It is proposed, in contrast to the approaches existing in the literature, to define mechanism of economic security of strategic interests as vision of dangers / threats and opportunities in future flow of events, which forms information basis for developing and implementing integrated set of management actions aimed at achieving and maintaining desired level (state) of economic security in long run. Developed mechanism is considered on example of machine-building enterprises of Ukraine. Influence of modern engineering technologies is taken into account. Analytical basis for realization of mechanism of maintenance of economic security of strategic interests of machine-building enterprises of Ukraine is developed. Its practical application will be useful for management personnel in the development and decision-making process to ensure the economic security of enterprises.

The article examines the sequence of actions to eliminate losses in the production process with the help of lean production tools at the Russian engineering plant. At the same time, the tasks are solved: the stages of the process of identification, analysis and problem solving are analyzed, the algorithm of elimination of losses in the production process is shown, an algorithm is proposed to build a map of the flow of the value creation of the current state of the production process of the manufacture of the part, the tools of lean production to eliminate the main losses are presented. With the systematic and concerted development of these tools, with the active advice and support of the management of the engineering company, the management of the production process on the basis of the concept of lean production allows to reduce losses, help to grow and develop the plant.

The article analyzes and evaluates the current financial and economic state of the machine-building industry and the influence of external and internal factors on their functioning. It is determined that the conditions of the national economy require domestic enterprises to react quickly and adapt to changes in market relations, to be financially stable, independent and competitive business entities. To meet these requirements, an enterprise must have sufficient financial resources. In the conditions of limited financial resources, rising cost of borrowed funds, inflationary processes, unstable prices for raw materials and components, the main task of domestic production enterprises is to increase the efficiency of activity by increasing their own financial resources and attracting additional resources from external sources of financing. But continuous and sustainable operation of the enterprise is possible due to the rational management of the available financial resources. On the basis of the conducted research, the mechanism of the process of managing the financial resources of the enterprise is proposed, which takes into account the system of goals, the system of plans and the influence of the external and internal environment of the enterprise.
