TEACHER attitudes ,COVID-19 pandemic ,TEACHERS ,TEACHING methods ,COMMUNICATIVE competence - Abstract
The changes in the training process of teachers is a disputed subject for a very long time but along with the COVID pandemic changes were encountered in the teacher's attitude and availability for learning. The digitalization of the educational process meant for many teachers the need to adapt and learn new teaching techniques, gain new TIC competencies and last but not least communication abilities. Thus, in this paper, some teaching training elements were presented along with a part of case study elements that had just to counties Giurgiu and Ialomiþa. The results revealed that digitalization eliminated some of the disadvantages highlighted by teachers, but there is still an area that needs some more work. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Modern global trends in socio-economic processes, manifested in the progress of the "economy of knowledge, technology and information", have put on the agenda the issues of professional and personal growth and the need for investment in "human capital". Globalization and internationalization of education mean the gradual transformation of national educational systems into a global one while maintaining differences due to tradition and culture. This article analyzes the fundamental objectives of the state policy of reforming higher education in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the scope of global tendencies in education. The object of the study is the system of higher education of Kazakhstan. The authors set the task to define the quality of conformance of higher hducation of Kazakhstan with such global trends in the field of university education as internationalization, digitalization and "education through life". To this end, official documents of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, analytical reports, statistical materials, as well as foreign and domestic studies on the problem were studied. Comparative and system-functional research methods have revealed the efficiency of the implementation of the core global trends in education in the state policy of reforming university education. ADULT learning ,MODERN society ,AUTHOR-reader relationships ,LEARNING ,HOMINIDS - Abstract
This article considers adult learning from a 'long-life' perspective. Stepping out of contemporary frames that position adult learning as 'life-long' or even 'life-wide' enables a discussion of adult learning as an evolutionary informed, ecologically meaningful activity. In taking this approach, the paper shows how adult learning has evolved and been maintained by trouble, indeed how the human condition is under continual existential threat. The paper will draw on writings that discuss the evolutionary origins of adult learning, particularly the paradox that humans are both part of, and separate from, the 'more-than-human' world (Abram, 1997). The focus of this paper will be on the experience, conscious or unconscious, of living under the continual threat of annihilation and how this may have provided the motive for adult learning behaviours in both our hominid ancestors and contemporary society. The paper begins with a discussion to highlight the nature of human life as one that is always under threat by drawing on religious symbolism, poetry and (in the UK at least) an ever-expanding genre of 'nature writing'. Having explored what it may feel like to live a life where survival is uncertain, the paper then draws on ecological and evolutionary principles to provide a theoretical 'long-life' understanding of adult learning. It is admitted at the outset that the route set out here may appear contradictory, even confusing, but the author asks the reader to first enter into an uncomfortable and troubling world, before the author, finally - despite what might sound like a bleak prospect for humanity - provides resources of hope grounded in the paradoxical potential provided by adult learning. Computer technologies are widely used to facilitate teaching of creative problem solving and to help engineers in their day-to-day work. To ensure effective utilisation in engineering practice, it is imperative to better understand the problem solving process itself. This research used an exploratory approach (Grounded Theory) to understand the complexities of engineering problem solving. Interview data from 22 engineers ranging from novice to experts, including 15 male and 7 female engineers were discussed. The participants believed that problem identification is the most crucial stage in good problem solving. 'Options' were identified as deterrents to long-term development of problem solving ability. It was established that it is necessary to boost self-efficacy of young engineers and make them willing to face challenges despite 'options'. Participants also suggested that conscious understanding and awareness of their own problem solving strategy is vital to the development of their problem solving skills. Findings from this paper provide new insights on how engineers develop their problem solving skills and can be used to improve existing theories on problem solving. These findings have implications on general educational strategy, as well as the development and implementation of computer technology for engineering problem solving. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

International audience; This paper proposes a new architecture of incremen-tal fuzzy inference system (also called Evolving Fuzzy System-EFS). In the context of classifying data stream in non stationary environment, concept drifts problems must be addressed. Several studies have shown that EFS can deal with such environment thanks to their high structural flexibility. These EFS perform well with smooth drift (or incremental drift). The new architecture we propose is focused on improving the processing of brutal changes in the data distribution (often called brutal concept drift). More precisely, a generalized EFS is paired with a module of anticipation to improve the adaptation of new rules after a brutal drift. The proposed architecture is evaluated on three datasets from UCI repository where artificial brutal drifts have been applied. A fit model is also proposed to get a "reactivity time" needed to converge to the steady-state and the score at end. Both characteristics are compared between the same system with and without anticipation and with a similar EFS from state-of-the-art. The experiments demonstrates improvements in both cases.

Most important conceptualizations of quality of life have in their definitions three basic pillars: psychical dimension, psychological dimension and social dimension (OMS, 1948, Schalock and Verdugo, 2003; Walker, 2010). In this communication we focus our attention on the last dimension, in detail how the long life learning could improve seniors’ quality of life. The purpose of this study is to analyze social networks of the seniors’ students in the UniversitatOberta per a Majors (UOM), -an educational program intended to adults over 50 years- from 2006-2007 to 2011-2012 academic years. Method: Application of social support questionnaire. A total of 261 questionnaires were used for the analysis by SPSS program. Dimensions evaluated were: lost relationships (and sources) versus new relationships (and sources), feeling of loneliness, perception of changes on their social network from to 5 years before and for next 5 years and influence of the educative program in these changes. Findings and results: Most of the sample affirm that lost relationships of working environment, but in general they have increased their social network; rarely they have loneliness feelings and they think that their social network will be stable during next 5 years. They considered that UOM program have a strongly positive effect in their social networks. Conclusions and recommendation: positive effects of long life learning are demonstrate in this study, specifically improving social networks’ senior students

Programming a robot to deal with open-ended tasks remains a challenge, in particular if the robot has to manipulate objects. Launching, grasping, pushing or any other object interaction can be simulated but the corresponding models are not reversible and the robot behavior thus cannot be directly deduced. These behaviors are hard to learn without a demonstration as the search space is large and the reward sparse. We propose a method to autonomously generate a diverse repertoire of simple object interaction behaviors in simulation. Our goal is to bootstrap a robot learning and development process with limited information about what the robot has to achieve and how. This repertoire can be exploited to solve different tasks in reality thanks to a proposed adaptation method or could be used as a training set for data-hungry algorithms. The proposed approach relies on the definition of a goal space and generates a repertoire of trajectories to reach attainable goals, thus allowing the robot to control this goal space. The repertoire is built with an off-the-shelf simulation thanks to a quality–diversity algorithm. The result is a set of solutions tested in simulation only. It may result in two different problems: (1) as the repertoire is discrete and finite, it may not contain the trajectory to deal with a given situation or (2) some trajectories may lead to a behavior in reality that differs from simulation because of a reality gap. We propose an approach to deal with both issues by using a local linearization of the mapping between the motion parameters and the observed effects. Furthermore, we present an approach to update the existing solutions repertoire with the tests done on the real robot. The approach has been validated on two different experiments on the Baxter robot: a ball launching and a joystick manipulation tasks. • Divergent evolutionary algorithms can be used to learn object manipulation skills. • Rich, diverse actions repertoires can simply be learnt in simulation. • Learnt repertoires can be used to accurately estimate the local Jacobian matrix. • This can be used to generalize to new actions or cross the reality gap. • Most learning is done in simulation, with few real robot experiments. Urban gardens are spreading in many cities across Europe, with community gardening being a fundamental form of urban agriculture. While the literature reveals the essential role that community gardens can play in terms of learning and education, no studies have investigated the training needs for participants in community gardens to ensure their successful development. The goal of this article is to evaluate the training requirements of urban community gardens to ensure their successful implementation and their contribution to sustainability in European cities. Two questionnaires of users&rsquo, needs analysis were designed and implemented in Berlin, Bologna, Budapest, and Cartagena. The results unveiled the need to re-enforce the training in the formation and community building phases of community gardens towards ensuring the creation of an engaged gardening community to maintain activity, particularly for top-down activities (e.g., research-related gardens). Users claimed their need for being trained on crop management skills (e.g., maintenance, bed preparation, organic practices) and on communication skills to further disseminate their activity, thereby increasing the potential for citizen engagement. Such requirements could be overcome with the creation of urban gardens networks, where experiences and knowledge are shared among practitioners. Policy recommendations are provided based on the outputs of this study.

This thesis introduces issues of globalization in the context of work (not only employment) and education. Further, it follows up the impacts of globalization processes on forms of work and on (working) individuals. The topic of globalization is examined in more detail in the first part of the thesis with emphasis on different concepts and approaches to globalization. At the same time this part defines the contemporary globalization. Work as such is introduced by historical excursion and by a list of changes of work in modern society. There are also presented some of the experts' solutions or recommendations for the labour markets including solutions through long-life education and learning. In most cases the "pros and cons" of changes of work and the submitted solutions are confronted. Main findings of this study are: globalization brings contradictory conclusions which provide advantages and disadvantages to various people and groups; there is a link between globalized economy and working individuals; and at the same time that the link between globalization processes and education is in such a sense that changes in education are often derived from the ideas of economics.

This paper introduces a proposal for a smart environment capable of deploying enhanced services by using a synergic approach based on Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Fuzzy Markup Language (FML). In detail, this approach realizes a long-life learning strategy able to generate context-aware services and actualize them through abstraction techniques in order to maximize the users' comfort and hardware interoperability level. As will be shown in experimental results, where a usability study has been performed, the proposed approach is capable of anticipating user's requirements by automatically generating the most suitable collection of interoperable services for improving users' comfort. © 2012 IEEE.

In Ambient Intelligence (AmI) vision, people should be able to seamlessly and unobtrusively use and configure the intelligent devices and systems in their ubiquitous computing environments without being cognitively and physically overloaded. In other words, the user should not have to program each device or connect them together to achieve the required functionality. However, although it is possible for a human operator to specify an active space configuration explicitly, the size, sophistication, and dynamic requirements of modern living environment demand that they have autonomous intelligence satisfying the needs of inhabitants without human intervention. This work presents a proposal for AmI fuzzy computing that exploits multiagent systems and fuzzy theory to realize a long-life learning strategy able to generate context-aware-based fuzzy services and actualize them through abstraction techniques in order to maximize the users' comfort and hardware interoperability level. Experimental results show that proposed approach is capable of anticipating user's requirements by automatically generating the most suitable collection of interoperable fuzzy services.

The term Electronic Learning or e-Learning is being used in Russia rather rarely. It integrates a number of terminological notions in the sphere of application of modern information and communication technologies in education such as multimedia, education on the base of web-technologies, etc. Teachers and learners must realize that new opportunities are offered by modern on-line communication. A person with basic Internet and Web skills is open to a new world of knowledge, from free Web surfing and self-organized education – through on-line resources and familiarization with Internet culture, its places, sites, search engines etc. – up to a more structured approach.

- Abstract
The impact and significance of a training process may not be easily noticeable in the short term, and is difficult to track in the long term. This is more common when training targets are acquiring positive attitudes and competences (i.e. environmental awareness) rather than specific technical procedures. Thus, such training requires specific evaluation tools for quantifying the degree of achievement the objectives. Microteaching is a training methodology characterized by brevity and flexibility, which focuses in promoting active learning and evaluating its long-term impact (including performance indicators). The methodology was developed during two European projects (Leonardo da Vinci Programme (Overschie,2006; Pérez-Moya, 2008, www.microtrainingsupport. eu/). This methodology was applied in two case studies for validating the assessment procedure developed. In both cases, the focus was improving performance of their Environmental Management System (EMS): Company A - Private company. Industrial electronics sector. - Objective: improving the communication between departments, detecting elements subject to the continuous improvement statement associated to the EMS application. - Initial status: ISO 14000 certification. - Proposed working group: Department managers and management team (including the general manager). Organization B - Public organization. Higher Education sector. - Objective: improving the communication between staff and wake up interest in EMS. - Initial status: lack of environmental management certification - Proposed working group: technical staff (department head was not attending the sessions). The application of the training and assessment methodologies is described for both cases. Finally, the actions resulting from the training and the corresponding outcomes are presented and both experiences are discussed regarding these results.
