PUBLIC health officers , *PUBLIC health , *MEDICAL personnel , *GROUP identity , *TASK forces - Abstract
The Mexican health system restructuring process that began in 2018 moves forward in two lanes: individual-based healthcare provision and public health services. The latter has two main goals: strengthening the state's public health governing role in a federative nation and providing the country's Ministry of Health with a highly skilled professional task force to accomplish this role. Mexico's Ministry of Health created the National Public Health Service (NPHS), a corporation of public health officers with the single mission to protect people's health by purposefully enforcing and overseeing the Essential Public Health Functions within the Mexican health system. Correspondingly, the NPHS will pursue three key strategies. First, to reshape public health action by organizing the Ministry's work using operational-based criteria (governance, logistics, operations, and intelligence) instead of program-specific vertical structures. Second, to functionally integrate and provide a group identity and a set of standard operational practices to all federal-level public health practitioners. Third, to refocus the Ministry of Health's nature to a more ground-level work, closer to the people and the needs of the state-level health departments instead of a more normative nature. CARTOGRAPHY , *MAPS , *INFORMATION design , *LANDSCAPES - Abstract
This article illustrates how to research complex infrastructure networks using critical cartography. Maps, infographics, and datascapes are employed to study how contemporary flows of goods, people, and money are redefining a specific location. This topic has been widely investigated in science and technology studies; however, it has seldom been addressed by applying visual methods. Cartography, in particular, is generally regarded as a subject of analysis, rather than an investigative tool. Conversely, this contribution discusses the theory and explores critical cartography as a speculative and artistic practice for problematizing the spatialization of policies, financial interests, and trade flows. It adds another level of understanding to the field of inquiry, and can help in developing counternarratives. This method is adopted to investigate the Port of Trieste, Italy, where radical transformations have been driven by international investment and infrastructural programs. Critical cartography can help to unravel this tangle by unveiling the cross-scalar dimension of contemporary global trade and the complex landscape of infrastructural networks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MARITIME shipping , *SUSTAINABLE transportation , *BUSINESS logistics , *GREENHOUSE gas mitigation , *GRAPH theory - Abstract
The green shipping faces ongoing challenges in meeting the demands of international trade with an environmental focus, driven by international regulations and negative impacts of the shipping industry on the environment. The purpose of this review is to examine research and strategies related to green shipping through a scientific mapping approach. Bibliometric tools such as R-Studio, Bibliometrix, ToS, and Gephi in graph theory were employed to represent the field's structure and trends. A total of 238 publications were selected from the Scopus database, covering the period between 2004 and 2023. The results highlight highly relevant themes, including optimizing maritime routes, adopting clean fuels, sustainable navigation policies, and modernizing the fleet of vessels. The strategic pillars to be implemented also emphasize the importance of business logistics, emission reduction, and increased productivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The integrated management of solid waste at the household level involves adequate collection logistics for recovery by waste collectors. The objective of this study was to optimize the route for access to waste at strategic points in the city of Manizales (Colombia), in addition to analyzing the qualitative characteristics related to a process of sensitization of the executing personnel. The integration of the numerical inputs and study variables was carried out through the application of the Shortest Route optimization algorithm, while the SWOT matrix was implemented to analyze the operational satisfaction conditions. The results generated a reduction in routes in 62.5% of the cases, obtaining savings of up to 28.61% of kilometers traveled daily by the reclaimers. It was also identified that factors such as topography and climate have a direct impact on collection activities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SMALL business , *SUPPLY chains , *DISTRIBUTION management , *ECONOMIC activity , *SUSTAINABILITY - Abstract
Achieving competitive supply chains currently represents a requirement to ensure the sustainability of companies, even more so in those that are considered emerging, either due to having little experience in their economic activities or due to their limited ability to cover the market due to their size. These characteristics are regularly met by startups and small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). The objective of this research is to obtain a status of the supply chains of emerging companies in the city of Bogotá as a basis for identifying opportunities for improvement that aim to strengthen their competitiveness. Two well-known reference models developed by logistics experts were used as measurement components. Some statistical calculations and the formulation of surveys were the methods used to collect, analyze and evaluate the information. Among the main results, it is evident that the processes that make up the emerging supply chains in the city have a result that varies between regular and good, and present multiple opportunities for improvement, such as agility and compliance in the supply phase, internal transportation technologies at the time of manufacturing or production, and poor risk management in the distribution and sales process.

Dentre as ações propostas, as primordiais são as voltadas para o time comercial, objetivando maior engajamento do time.

The objective of this article is to analyze strategies aimed at green logistics that some colombian companies such as Organización Corona, Grupo Éxito and Celsia are developing. They are part of different sectors (production, marketing and services), three study variables cited in the environmental issue of ISO26000 (pollution prevention, sustainable use of resources, mitigation of climate change and adaptation to climate change) were used in order to determine if green logistics practices in each logistics processes (purchasing, storage, packing and packaging, transport and reverse logistics) in these companies has contributed or not to the sustainable development, and therefore, to be environmentally responsible. At the end of the investigation, it is determined that the implementation of green logistics points to a reduction in costs in logistics processes due to the efficiency it generates, and to business recognition in the country as they are perceived as benchmarks of sustainability and social responsibility, this generates an intrinsic value in organizations that endures over time. The rise of e-hailing services such as Grab and MyCar has overshadowed public transportation in Malaysia. E-hailing is a transport service that allows passengers to book a trip in real-time using virtual devices such as mobile phones. E-hailing platforms are predicted to grow tremendously as consumers continue to demand them for their convenience, speed, and cost-saving benefits. Beginning in October 2019, Malaysian e-hailing operators have been subject to control-oriented laws similar to those imposed on taxi drivers. This article attempts to highlight the regulatory framework that governs e-hailing services in Malaysia, as well as the legal issues and risks that e-hailing services face. It employs qualitative legal research, emphasising the study of law and the use of web, print, scholarly, and government statistics. The data were structured using theme analysis to generate a discussion narrative regarding e-hailing services in Malaysia, taking into consideration multiple viewpoints on the regulatory framework, legal concerns, and risks of this industry. It is found that despite the existence of essential laws that legalise e-hailing services, it has been discovered that legal concerns concerning legal status, safety, privacy, and liability persist in Malaysia's e-hailing services. On the one hand, there is a genuine urgency to ensure users' safety, which must not be suffocated by harsh and overbearing laws. As a result, understanding legal reactions to e-hailing services and exploring innovative approaches to handle growing legal difficulties is critical. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID-19 pandemic imposed many market changes, driven partially by new consumer needs. In the electronic commerce field, changes occurred in parallel to an upsurge in demand, directly impacting logistics service quality. Within that context, this paper seeks a way of assessing the quality of e-commerce logistics, based on end-customer perceptions at the close of the purchasing cycle. The objective is thus to develop a mathematical model based on the artificial intelligence precepts that can interpret qualitative expressions captured through a questionnaire. Such values form partial indexes and the E-Commerce Logistics Quality Index (IQLE). After processing 180 records, it was noted that three of the seven analyzed attributes scored below 5.0, denoting some concern, but also opening up opportunities for improvement and the development of marketing solutions.
