Introduction: Pyogenic granuloma presents clinically as a rapidly growing, friable, red papule of skin or mucosa, commonly measuring less than 10 mm with frequent bleeding due to ulceration. Angioproliferative diseases including pyogenic granuloma and cherry angioma have been reported during COVID-19 infection or following COVID-19 vaccination. Case Presentation: Here, we report a 52-year-old female patient who developed diffuse skin eruptions 3 weeks after the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination. Conclusion: As per our knowledge, this is the first case of eruptive PG following COVID-19 vaccination. Oral propranolol and PDL laser therapy were administered after obtaining inconvenient results from electro-cautery, and there was a good response within 6 weeks of starting therapy, defined by the cessation of new lesion formation and a decrease in the size of large lesions.

Cutaneous pyogenic granulomas (PGs) are common, benign vascular tumors of uncertain pathogenesis; however, a growing body of literature suggests that the formation of PGs may be secondary to genetic alterations in both the Ras/Raf/MAPK and PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathways. We present three cases of spontaneous multifocal PGs that first presented in infancy, were not associated with other vascular anomalies or discernable etiology, harbored somatic genetic variants in the Ras/Raf/MAPK pathway (NRAS n = 2, FGFR1 n = 1), were refractory to treatment with beta‐blockers and mTOR inhibitors, and responded best to pulsed dye laser. Lobular capillary hemangioma is a benign lesion commonly affecting the head and neck region. However, in children, it is commonly seen in the buccal mucosa, gingiva, and the tongue, but its presence in the nasal cavity is less frequent. The most common symptoms of nasal hemangiomas are epistaxis and nasal obstruction. However, we present a case of a thirteen-year-old male having intranasal lobular capillary hemangioma with a 2-day history of left-sided epistaxis. The diagnosis is confirmed by histological examination, and the treatment is done by endonasal endoscopic excision of the hemangioma with cauterization of the feeding vessel has performed to remove the lesion completely. Moreover, the diagnosis of lobular capillary hemangioma must always be kept in mind when discussing the differential diagnosis of a bleeding mass within the nasal cavity, even though it is a rare condition and surgical excision is still the preferred first-line treatment. Aim: Pyogenic granuloma (PG), also known as lobular capillary hemangioma, is a benign, reactive vascular tumor. We aimed to evaluate the demographic and clinical characteristics, treatments received, and outcomes of patients followed up at our clinic with PG. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively evaluated all patients followed up at our clinic with PG in the last 4 years. Results: A total of 144 patients were included in our study. 73 (51%) of the patients were female and 71 (49%) were male. The mean age of the patients was 31.3±8.3 years. When we examined the PG locations in our patients, we observed that it was most commonly found in the arm/hand area (40%), on the face (29%), foot/leg area (19%), and on the trunk (8.3%). The highest numbers of lesions were respectively in the hand, foot nail edge, and lip locations. Out of the patients where the lesion side was specified, 63 had the lesion on the left while 20 had it on the right (p=0.001). 51% of our patients underwent excisional surgery. Other treatments applied to our patients, in order, were cryotherapy (15.3%), electrocauterization (8.3%), and cauterization with silver nitrate, cryotherapy + electrocauterization, topical antibiotic and cryotherapy + timolol drop. When evaluating the outcomes of the patients, we learned from the notes dropped into the system at later controls that 73% had recovered. The remaining patients were lost to follow-up. When comparing the features of patients who were treated with non-excisional methods to those who underwent excision, we observed that there was a higher rate of patients younger than 12 years (p=0.023), a higher incidence of foot nail edge (p=0.016) and lip location (p=0.048), and a higher frequency of pregnancy in this group. Conclusion: PG is a vascular tumor of importance due to its potential for bleeding and ulceration and its chronic course if left untreated. Since there are malignant lesions in its differential diagnosis, we believe that surgical excision is a more appropriate treatment option in our clinical practice when feasible. Objectives Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) rarely involves the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. This study describes clinicopathologic features of LCH in a cohort of GI cases. Methods We defined lobular capillary hemangioma as "a proliferation of capillary-sized blood vessels arranged at least focally in a lobular configuration," searched departmental archives for cases, and recorded clinicopathologic findings. Results We identified 34 GI tract LCHs from 16 men and 10 women; 4 patients had multiple lesions. Mean age was 64 years. Cases arose in the esophagus (n = 7), stomach (n = 3), small bowel (n = 7), and colorectum (n = 17). Twelve patients had anemia or rectal bleeding. No patients had a known genetic syndrome. The lesions manifested as mucosal polyps, with median size of 1.3 cm. Microscopically, 20 lesions were ulcerated, and most involved the mucosa, with 9 extending into the submucosa. Vessel dilation was present in 27 patients, endothelial hobnailing in 13, hemorrhage in 13, and focal reactive stromal atypia in 2. Follow-up information was available for 10 patients, none of whom developed same-site recurrence. Six of the 26 cases (23%) were extradepartmental consultations, including 2 of the multifocal cases. Conclusions Gastrointestinal tract LCHs often arise as colorectal polyps. They are typically small but can reach a few centimeters in size and can be multifocal. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Lobular capillary hemangioma, a benign vascular tumor of the skin or mucous membranes characterized by rapid growth and a friable surface, is widely but inappropriately termed pyogenic granuloma (now considered a misnomer by some theories) due to lack of evidence for infectious etiopathogenesis. Some studies promote the theory of a hyperplastic, neovascular response to an angiogenic stimulus with imbalance of promoters and inhibitors. Here we present a series of 4 cases of patients who visited the Oral Medicine OPD with a complaint of similar painless malformations showing granulomatous and/or fibrous tissue proliferation andwhich, after thorough history taking, clinical examination and excisional biopsy, were revealed to be lobular capillary hemangioma under histopathologic diagnosis. The following discussion revolves around the fact that, even though such exophytic lesions may present with variable features, a proper, accurate and logical diagnostic entity may be used to help in better coordination among the oral physician, oral pathologist and oral surgeon in framing the desired treatment plan.

Background: Endoscopic endonasal approach for the management of sinonasal inflammatory pathologies and tumours has been a widely accepted procedure and used for many years. The aim of the study is to assess effectiveness and safety of endonasal endoscopic resection in removal of sinonasal vascular tumours and to evaluate outcomes and clinical behaviour of different subtypes with review of the literature. Material and Methods: A retrospective review of the patients treated for sinonasal and orbital apex vascular tumour was performed. Patient’s demographics, surgical approaches, complications, histopathological results, and long-term outcomes were evaluated. Results: Twenty-two patient included in this study. The mean tumour size ranged from 6 to 100 mm (30.45 ± 22.7 mm). Histopathological examination revealed 8 (36%) capillary hemangioma, 6 (33.3%) cavernous hemangioma, 2 (12%) mixed hemangioma, and 2(12%) vascular leiomyomas. Three (13.6%) patients were diagnosed as glomangiopericytoma and remaining 1 (4.4%) was angiosarcoma. Only in 1 patient with recurrent glomangiopericytoma preoperative embolization were needed. Five patients had preoperative biopsy in office settings. The mean follow-up was 72.9 (± 53.71) months. The recurrence was observed in 3 (13.6%) patients. Conclusion: Endonasal endoscopic approach for sinonasal vascular tumours is a safe and reliable method for resection. Our study suggested location of the tumour is more important than the size to achieve complete resection. Long-term follow-ups are important to detect recurrences early even after macroscopically complete resections.

Abstract Introduction Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) is a benign vascular tumor that rarely affects the nasal cavity. Pregnancy and previous nasal trauma or surgery might be implicated in the pathogenesis of this tumor. However, in the majority of the cases, there is no identified cause. The objective of this study was to characterize the numerous demographic and clinical aspects of intranasal LCH and to find whether there is a link between its likely causation and other parameters. We retrospectively reviewed the medical records (from 2012 to 2021) of subjects with proven cases of intranasal LCH on histopathological evaluation at four main hospitals in Baghdad, Ramadi, Tikrit, and Samawah cities, Iraq. The detailed information concerning the age, gender, duration, clinical features, side, location, type of anesthesia, follow-up period, and recurrence was registered for each participant. Results Of the 82 patients, there were 73.2% females. The majority of the cases (79.3%) were from the age group of 18–40 years. The majority of the patients (74.4%) were seen within 1–2 months. Most of the cases originated from the left side (59.8%) and the nasal septum (81.7%). Epistaxis was the most common presenting symptom (91.5%). No cause was identified in 42.7% of the cases, followed by pregnancy (31.7%) and trauma (25.6%). There was a significant difference between the possible cause and the age and gender (P-value = 0.000). The recurrence rate was 3.66%. Conclusion Intranasal LCH shows a female predominance and mostly affects the age group of 18–40 years. Most of the cases involved the left side and nasal septum. Epistaxis was the chief complaint in the majority of cases. Age and gender can determine the possible cause of the lesion.

Lobular capillary hemangioma is a benign rapidly growing lesion, rare to present as mass filling nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. They are usually vascular malformation that can occur over face. The involvement of nose and paranasal sinus is rare. It has a property to grow rapidly in a short time and recurrence is also seen. Here we discuss a large lobular capillary hemangioma of the left lateral wall of nasal cavity presenting with recurrent epistaxis.

Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH), previously known as pyogenic granuloma, is a benign vascular lesion commonly found within the oral and nasal cavities. However, it is rarely encountered within the trachea, especially in pediatric patients, where it manifests as hemoptysis, cough, and wheeze, and is frequently misdiagnosed as bronchitis or asthma. There is limited literature on the presentation, behavior, and management of tracheal LCH. Herein, we describe a rare case of tracheal LCH in an 11-year-old boy with a history of hemoptysis, which was successfully managed with arterial embolization followed by electrocautery loop snaring via flexible bronchoscopy. No complications occurred during and after the procedure. A review of the relevant literature is also provided. Our case is unique, given the therapeutic strategy utilized for pediatric tracheal LCH, and reminds physicians to be aware of tracheal LCH in the differential diagnosis for hemoptysis.

A 35-year-old Congolese woman presented with urinary incontinence associated with a vaginal “tearing” sensation during micturition. A suburethral vascular bud and vesico-vaginal fistula were observed on examination. Over 2 weeks, the fistula enlarged to involve the trigone and bladder neck, resulting in a semi-circumferential urethro-vesico-vaginal fistula. Histology revealed a lobular capillary hemangioma. Lobular capillary hemangioma mostly occurs in the anterior portion of the nasal cavity, rarely occurring in the posterior end of the inferior turbinate, as in this case. We report a case of lobular capillary hemangioma originating from the posterior end of the right inferior turbinate, which was successfully removed via an endoscopic endonasal approach. Sinonasal lobular capillary hemangiomas (LCH) are rare benign vascular lesions commonly arising from the nasal septum. Nasopharyngeal, nasal mid-turbinate, and anterior nasal swabbing is the preferred method of screening for coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19). Herein, we present a case of a sinonasal LCH in a child after continuous self-tests for COVID-19, with an anterior nasal swab. The child presented with a well-defined red mass in the anterior part of the nasal septum, which was removed endoscopically. Histopathology revealed a LCH. This is the first report of a complication other than epistaxis with the use of an anterior nasal swab. Our literature review identified 32 studies reporting complications of COVID-19 screening. Cerebrospinal fluid leaks and foreign body retention are the most common ones. A proper specimen collection technique and a quick patient history with an emphasis on risk factors are the best practices to prevent complications from COVID-19 screening. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Pyogenic granulomas (PGs) are benign lesions that are very common in the upper aerodigestive tract. These lesions occur due to hormonal imbalance or due to a predisposing traumatic factor. They are relatively rare in the lower respiratory tract. There are few published papers of Pyogenic granulomas (PG) involving the lower airway in the past 30 years. Aim: A case of pyogenic granuloma of larynx mimicking malignancy has been presented along with the systematic review on methods of diagnosis, successful management, and prevention of pyogenic granuloma recurrence in the lower respiratory tract. Materials and Methods: This systematic review of literature included reports from 1981 till date, where complete details of the records were available. These reports were collected from the search engines "PubMed" and "Google Scholar" using the MeSH terms "pyogenic granuloma" OR "lobular capillary hemangioma" AND "lower respiratory tract". The results were reviewed by three different authors independently with a main focus on methods of diagnosis and successful management and prevention of recurrence. Results: A 59-year-old male patient presented to ENT Department with hoarseness of voice for the past six months. On examination with video laryngoscope, a pale pinkish polypoidal mass originating from the anterior commissure and extending into the subglottic wedge with normal vocal cord mobility was noted. Neck examination showed splaying of thyroid cartilage with tenderness and there were no palpable lymph nodes. CT examination suggested a neoplastic etiology of thyroid cartilage erosion. The patient was managed by microlaryngeal excision of the mass and histopathological analysis revealed pyogenic granuloma with no evidence of malignancy. From the 25 papers reviewed, a predisposing trauma like a history of intubation/lower airway procedures like bronchoscopy or laryngoscopy is not a prerequisite for the occurrence of pyogenic granuloma of the lower airway. The lesions can be excised via microlaryngoscopy or using the bronchoscope depending on the site of lesion. The various surgical modalities used for excision are cold steel dissection, laser excision and cryotherapy. conclusion: Meticulous dissection and removal of the lesion with post operative measures to prevent additional trauma like antireflux measures and appropriate antibiotic therapy seems to be helpful in preventing recurrence. Role of steroids in the management of pyogenic granuloma has not been supported by adequate literature. Further studies are required to comment on the adequacy of duration of follow-up. Background: Oral pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a clinicopathological entity that could develop due to the reaction to a variety of stimuli, such as low-grade local irritation, traumatic damage, and hormonal stimulation. There are two histopathological types of pyogenic granuloma; lobular type -capillary hemangioma (LCH) and non-lobular type; with PG,LCH has highly vascular, diffuse capillary growth while non- lobular variant mimicking granulation tissue with heavily inflammated stroma. The study aims were to review the clinical and histopathological spectrum of an oral pyogenic granuloma from different intraoral sites in order to avoid diagnostic pitfalls associated with similar morphological lesions and to determine whether lobular and non-lobular histopathological subtypes being distinct entities. Materials and Methods: A retrospective review of eighty formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue blocks (40 cases each of males and females) were retrieved from the archives of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of Baghdad, from 1979 to 2017. According to Mills et al., criteria for lobular capillary hemangioma description, the diagnosis of each case was confirmed by the examination of Hematoxylin and Eosin stained sections by an expert pathologists. Results:The present result revealed that patients with oral pyogenic granuloma were with age range from 12 to 59 years, with a mean of 30.57 years. Fourty nine cases (61.25%) out of eighty were of lobular pattern and 31 cases (38.7%) of non-lobular pattern type PG. The most common site of LCH was in the buccal mucosa, 12 cases (75%), while higher case numbers were observed in the 21-30 year age group. There were non-significant differences between lobular and non-lobular pattern prevalence regarding age groups and between other studied variables. Conclusio: It has been proposed that LCH and non-LCH subtypes reflect distinct phases in the development of a single lesion, which exhibits variable degrees of proliferative, angiogenic, and inflammatory activities.

Background. Pyogenic granuloma (PG) or lobular capillary hemangioma, ICD10 code: L98.0. appears as a single bright red or violet papule up to 20 mm in size, on the face, fingers, skull surface, arms, and intergluteal fold, as well as on the oral mucous membranes. Surgical removal of facial PG is not always possible due to insufficient thickness of the dermis. Treatment of PG with a pulsed dye laser (PDL) or neodymium laser (Nd:YAG) can achieve a noticeable elimination of the lesion but is reported to be accompanied by such side effects as purpura or scarring. It determines the feasibility of introducing into clinical practice the methods of laser treatment of PG using the radiation of a copper vapor laser (CVL) with a wavelength of 578 nm, which effectively absorbed by the blood. Aim. The assessment of the clinical efficacy and safety of the CVL treating PG. Methods. 26 adult patients with PG in various parts of the face, including the lips, limbs, and trunk, were included in this study. PG treatment was carried out in one session with CVL (Yakhroma-Med, FIAN) at an average power of 0.71.0 W, at a wavelength of 578 nm, exposure time 0.20.3 s. The diameter of the light spot is 1 mm. Results. Immediately after the single laser treatment, the PG involved area became grey. In 710 days, the irradiated area was utterly similar to the adjacent intact skin. No postoperative bleeding or infection was noted. Side effects included mild skin atrophy. During the follow-up observation for five years, no side effects were found. Conclusion. The high efficiency of PG elimination using CVL in the absence of pronounced side effects allows suggesting this method for introducing into dermatologists and cosmetologists' clinical practice as a highly effective and inexpensive method of treatment.

Laryngeal hemangioma is a rare benign tumor of the larynx with predilection for a supraglottal subsite. Common presentations include hoarseness, dyspnea, and dysphagia, with a typical appearance of a reddish-purplish mass. A capillary form of the tumor, lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) is extremely rare in adults and is predominantly unilateral. Diagnosis is made histologically by the distinct lobular growth pattern of capillary proliferation. Here, we report a 50-year-old male chronic smoker who presented with 3-month history of progressive hoarseness, dry cough, and intermittent dyspnea. Flexible endoscopy of the larynx showed irregular pinkish-white masses on the middle third of the bilateral vocal folds. The provisional diagnosis of glottic carcinoma was ruled out by histopathology, and the final diagnosis was bilateral glottic LCH, making it the first recorded case of this condition in literature. Abstract Disseminated pyogenic granuloma is a rare entity. Patients need reassurance for this benign condition and are advised about the risk of recurrence and the risk of scarring with a total surgical excision. Red‐flag diagnoses should be ruled out.

Laryngeal hemangioma is a rare benign tumor of the larynx with predilection for a supraglottal subsite. Common presentations include hoarseness, dyspnea, and dysphagia, with a typical appearance of a reddish-purplish mass. A capillary form of the tumor, lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) is extremely rare in adults and is predominantly unilateral. Diagnosis is made histologically by the distinct lobular growth pattern of capillary proliferation. Here, we report a 50-year-old male chronic smoker who presented with 3-month history of progressive hoarseness, dry cough, and intermittent dyspnea. Flexible endoscopy of the larynx showed irregular pinkish-white masses on the middle third of the bilateral vocal folds. The provisional diagnosis of glottic carcinoma was ruled out by histopathology, and the final diagnosis was bilateral glottic LCH, making it the first recorded case of this condition in literature. Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a benign nonneoplastic mucocutaneous lesion. It occurs as a result of chronic irritation or due to hormonal changes. The most favorable site for this fairly common lesion is gingiva, but rarely, it can occur outside the oral cavity, later often difficult to diagnose, as a diverse group of the pathologic process can produce such lesions outside the oral cavity. The diagnosis is also challenging as the lesions appear as smooth or lobulated red nodules with easy bleeding, occasionally ulcerated mimicking malignancies. The purpose of this article is to report a rare case of extragingival PG of the lower lip simulating as a vascular lesion in young male of 30 years old diagnosed by ultrasound followed by histopathological examination. BACKGROUND: Lobular capillary hemangioma is a benign vascular lesion that can occur on both skin and mucosa anywhere in the human body. It often affects pregnant women and, if located in the nasal cavity, can cause nasal respiratory failure and recurrent epistaxis, although this location is not common. CLINICAL CASE: A 35-year-old female patient in her last three months of pregnancy began to suffer from a rapid growth of a vascular nature in her right nostril that covered the entire nasal vestibule. The injury caused nasal respiratory failure and recurrent epistaxis. Total excision was performed one month after childbirth, with histopathology result of lobular capillary hemangioma. CONCLUSIONS: Nasal lobular capillary hemangioma is an injury that may origin recurrent epistaxis in pregnant women. Once childbirth has taken place, the best treatment is resection. Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH), a histological variant of pyogenic granuloma (PG) is an inflammatory hyperplasia commonly seen on oral mucosa as a reaction to local irritants, trauma or hormonal influences. The term “PG” is a misnomer as it is neither pus filled nor representative of a granuloma histologically. It is an inflammatory lesion composed of proliferating vascular, fibrous, and inflammatory tissue. The benign tumor has varied clinical and histopathological presentations and occurs frequently on the gingiva in the oral cavity. The article presents a case report where 2-week propranolol therapy was used to manage oral LCH (with a rare site of presentation) in a 2-year-old preschooler with a 9-month follow-up showing no recurrence followed by review of literature.

Abstract We report a case of lobular capillary hemangioma of the conjunctiva in a 32‐year‐old man, who had no history of eye surgery or trauma, and did not respond to topical corticosteroid therapy. He was treated successfully by surgical excision. Excisional biopsy confirms the diagnosis and rules out any malignant lesion in medically uncontrolled cases.

Hemangiomas are benign vascular tumours of the head and neck. Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) is a common, acquired proliferative reaction in vascular tissue. It has female predilection, and peak incidence occurs in adolescents and young adults. Histopathologically, it is characterised by nodular proliferation of capillary-sized vessels lined by endothelial cells with plump nuclei. The capillary lumen shows the presence of numerous erythrocytes. To distinguish this lesion from other vascular lesions, a precise diagnosis is required. The majority of oral hemangiomas will regress without any treatment. If these tumours continue into adulthood, it may lead to difficulty in speech and swallowing. Pyogenic granuloma (PG) represents a polypoid and lobular, capillary lesion, resembling granulation tissue, usually occurring on skin or mucosal surfaces. The occurrence of metaplastic ossification is extremely rare in PG. We present three cases of PG with metaplastic ossification. All three patients were men, aged 18‐66 years. In all cases, the lesions occurred on the digits, particularly in or around the nail bed. Histopathologically, these superficial dermal‐based tumors were characterized by classic features of PG, namely circumscribed, exophytic to polypoid proliferations of capillary‐sized blood vessels in a lobular arrangement. The characteristic vascular component also was intimately associated with spicules and trabeculae of metaplastic bone formation rimmed by osteoblasts and osteoclasts. This osseous component was diffusely distributed in two cases and more localized in another. We speculate that ossification in PGs possibly represents a reactive process in response to chronic injury. We believe that ossifying PG is likely under‐recognized and often mistaken for other entities also arising in the extremities and characterized by osseous metaplasia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction:The aim of the present study was to determine the demographic characteristics of patients undergoing surgery for pyogenic granuloma (PG) in our clinic and to discuss them with the literature data.Methods:The patients who were reported as PG after pathology results were analyzed in terms of age, gender, tumor localization, tumor size, etiologic factors, time of occurrence and recurrence.Results:The ages of 11 patients diagnosed with PG ranged from 14 to 62 years with a mean age of 42.36 years. Eight patients were between 30-60 years old. Five patients were female (45.45%) and six were male (54.55%). Oral cavity localization (tongue in three patients, hard palate in one patient, and both tongue and buccal mucosa in one patient) was observed in five patients. Nose localization (septum in two patients, inferior concha in one patient, and middle concha in one patient) was observed in four patients and two patients had skin localization (scalp in one patient and back of auricle in one patient). Onset of symptoms varied between 2 and 21 weeks (mean: 10.36 weeks). Tumor size varied between 5 and 25 mm (mean: 11.33 mm). There were seven pedunculated lesions and four nodular lesions among all specimens.Conclusion:PG is a diagnosis that should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of rapidly growing, hemorrhagic oral cavity and unilateral nasal masses. Total excision of the lesion with intact mucosal margins is required to prevent recurrence.

This case report focuses on the clinical development of a 32-year-old female patient's lobular capillary hemangioma and provides valuable insights into the atypical nature of this tumor. Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) that follows diode laser intervention can be regarded as a novel and evidence-based approach to therapeutic management. The application of a diode laser causes the vascular elements that comprise the bulk of the lesion to coagulate, which in turn causes the lesion's size to decrease. The biological processes that lead to quick tissue regeneration are also activated by LLLT. The suggested therapeutic approach ensures that the patient will heal in the best possible way while also optimizing their comfort and safety. It extends beyond the mere removal of wounds. The case report demonstrates how well dual laser therapy works to lessen common postoperative issues that are commonly seen in traditional surgical therapies for lobular capillary hemangioma such as excessive bleeding and infection. The precise application of the diode laser minimizes damage to surrounding tissues, thereby enhancing the healing process. Additionally, following surgery, LLLT helps reduce pain and inflammation, which improves patient outcomes. The potential of diode laser and LLLT therapies for treating vascular lesions, including lobular capillary hemangioma, is evidenced by their therapeutic advantages. This encourages wider clinical applications and field research. A lobular capillary hemangioma, previously known as a pyogenic granuloma, is a benign vascular lesion of the skin or mucous membrane. We report a case of capillary hemangioma of lobular subtype in the calvarium of a 28-year-old pregnant woman which presented as a sore and rapidly growing bulge over the left fronto-parietal region. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain and skull showed an expansive tumor with brain displacement, skull erosion, and scalp infiltration. The tumor was surgically removed, and histopathological examination showed a capillary hemangioma of lobular subtype. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of a lobular capillary hemangioma in the calvarium, and it represents a rarity to be considered among the many other differential diagnoses for neurosurgical lesions involving the skull, especially in pregnant women. Background: Lobular capillary hemangiomas (LCH) are acquired benign vascular lesions of the skin and mucous membranes mostly affecting the head and neck region. Involvement of the nasal cavity is extremely rare and can manifest as epistaxis and nasal obstruction. Case series: In this case series, we present five cases of intranasal LCH. Three cases are of pregnant women that presented with epistaxis and nasal obstruction. The first was surgically treated during her pregnancy with preoperative embolization of the tumor for vascular control, while the other two patients were treated after delivery. The two other cases are of a post trauma pediatric patient, and an elderly lady with multiple co-morbidities, both presenting with recurrent nose bleeds and nasal obstruction. Surgical excision was performed with no complications observed post-operatively. Discussion: The etiology of LCH is unknown, but certain predisposing factors have been associated with the development of LCH and include pregnancy and trauma. The anterior portion of the nasal septal mucosa and the tip of the inferior turbinate are commonly involved sites. Computed tomography scans and histopathology are used to diagnose LCH. Treatment is surgical excision with or without pre-operative embolization. Conclusion: LCH are rare tumors of the nasal cavity. Treatment of these lesions is surgical with or without preoperative vascular control.

Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) is a benign proliferation of capillary blood vessels adopting a lobular configuration. A laryngeal origin of LCH is exceedingly rare. Here, we describe a case of an 11-year-old boy presenting with a subglottic lesion, leading to a subglottic stenosis. Histopathologic findings of the lesion implicated an LCH, which was removed successfully by a coblator. This is the first report of a subglottic LCH. Physicians should be aware of this unique lesion and laryngeal LCH should be considered in diagnosing the cause of a subglottic stenosis. Additionally, coblation should be an effective treatment for laryngeal LCH.

Intramuscular lipoma are benign mesenchymal soft tissue neoplasm of mature adipocytes that arises within the muscle. Oral intramuscular lipoma are more commonly seen on tongue. Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) on the other hand are common benign vascular neoplasms which are often confused with pyogenic granuloma. In this paper we present a rare case of co-existence of oral intramuscular lipoma with LCH. A 65 year old male complains of swelling on the left chin region from past 4–5 years. On complete intraoral examination another mass was noted on ventral surface of tongue. After performing USG and FNAC of the swelling in the chin region, an excisional biopsy was done and was sent for histopathological examination which showed thin connective tissue septa separating lobules of mature adipocytes. Histopathological examination of tongue mass revealed a benign tumor composed of blood vessels comprising of small capillary sized vascular channels. After a follow-up of 1 year patient showed no signs of recurrence. According to the literature recurrences are seen in case of intramuscular lipoma due to difficulty in total excision of the lesion. Immunohistochemistry plays a crucial role in distinguishing LCH from pyogenic granuloma. Intraoral LCH should be properly excised after understanding the vascularity of the lesion. In literature, the co-existence of intraoral lipoma with other lesions have been encountered hence for a surgeon a complete examination of oral cavity plays a crucial role to rule out such co-existence. Since initially described, the terms "pyogenic granuloma" (PG) and "lobular capillary hemangioma" (LCH) have undergone a significant change in meaning, which leads to a confusion in the literature. In this study, we attempted to investigate if there are any clinical and pathological differences between the pyogenic granuloma and lobular capillary hemangioma through a scoping review of the available literature. A Medline search has identified 342 articles from 2001 to 2018, from which English papers, case series, retrospective studies, and cross-sectional studies were selected. Data from the articles was charted using appropriate subheadings for the clinical question (e.g., number of patients, clinical features, histology, pathogenesis, differential diagnosis, treatment). Compared to LCH, PG seems to occur more in the middle-aged range, has a clearer predilection for (pregnant) females, and has more frequently a known triggering factor in the history. Histologically, PGs appear as radially organized capillaries (while LCHs have a lobular pattern), have a mixed inflammatory infiltrate (compared to the occasional lymphocytic infiltrate in LCHs), and can undergo fibrosing transformation when chronic, which is not seen in LCHs. Finally, besides basic excision, several other treatment options have been described for both lesions. Since the pyogenic granuloma and lobular capillary hemangioma show clinical and pathological differences, we propose them to be considered as distinct lesions, which makes interpreting the literature much easier. Renal transplant recipients have an increased risk of malignancy, especially skin cancers. Therefore, skin lesions in transplant patients should not be ignored. Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a benign hyperplastic lesion of the connective tissue that manifests ulcerous and hemorrhagic masses and is therefore confused with malignancies. Repeated minor traumas, vascular wall infections, and poor oral hygiene play a role in the development of these lesions. In the literature, only three case reports of patients who have had a kidney transplant and a PG have been reported. In this article, we present two cases of renal transplant in which the patients developed a PG, because they are rarely seen and can be confused with skin malignancies in patients who have had a kidney transplant. Context: Focal fibrous hyperplasia, peripheral ossifying fibroma, pyogenic granuloma, peripheral giant cell granuloma, giant cell fibroma and focal reactive overgrowth (FROGs) are one of the foremost numerous benign soft-tissue growths in the oral cavity. Chronic irritation or trauma is with identified as the causative aspect. It may develop up to few centimeters in diameter, pedunculated or sessile and may arise on the gingiva or buccal mucosa. Treatment involves surgical excision, and recurrences are infrequent. Aims: The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of FROGs of oral mucosa in an institutional setup. Subjects and Methods: All the histopathologically diagnosed cases of FROGs within a period of 10 years (January 2008–December 2017) were retrieved from the archives of the Department of Oral Pathology. The information such as age, sex, site, anatomical side and its prevalence were recorded on customized case history performa. Statistical Analysis Used: The significance of difference was assessed using the Chi-square test and Fisher's exact test. Results: A total of 2849 cases were identified, of which 449 (15%) were FROGs. The most prevalent lesion amid them were focal fibrous hyperplasia (277, 62%), followed by pyogenic granuloma (92, 20%), whereas the least common was giant cell fibroma with 2 (0.5%) cases. All the FROGs were distributed among 21–40 years of age showing female predominance. The commonly affected site was the right buccal mucosa. Conclusions: Nevertheless, information of the frequency and distribution of these lesions is favorable when establishing a diagnosis and treatment plan in clinical practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
