В статье рассматриваются исторические условия, в которых велся метрический учет крещений, браков и отпеваний у старообрядцев-беглопоповцев (позднее часовенного и белокриницкого согласий) на Урале на протяжении XIX в. Статья касается изменений законодательства о регистрации семейного состояния, рождений и отпеваний у староверов, начиная с царствования Александра I до конца имперского периода в истории России. Определены ограничения, которые имеются у каждого из источников, возникавших в результате Высочайших распоряжений. В дополнение к широко известному источнику, появившемуся после провозглашения веротерпимости и издания Указа о старообрядческих общинах 17 октября 1906 г., собраны сведения об учете событий жизненного цикла в предшествующее время. В XIX в. обстоятельства для их ведения были по большей части неблагоприятные. Подобных документов обнаружено к настоящему времени совсем немного, и они связаны с Рогожским центром и территорией Уральского казачьего войска. Это, однако, не означает полную бесперспективность поисков, поскольку до конца 1830-х гг. ведение таких книг у старообрядцев правительством было возложено на беглых священников и вполне возможно, что в составе архивных фондов они есть. Позднее существовавшую на горнозаводском Урале практику учета крещений, венчаний и отпеваний местные старообрядцы пытались передать наставникам-мирянам. Однако записи наставников не признавались властями в качестве имеющих законную силу и, более того, с конца 1830-х гг. превратились в улику, свидетельствующую о противоправных действиях по «распространению раскола». В статье приводятся сведения об инициативах самих старообрядцев по учету событий жизненного цикла до 1906 г. В основе актовые источники различного происхождения (Высочайшие указы, материалы старообрядческих соборов), делопроизводственная документация, переписка, метрические книги и другие документы учета населения. Для сравнения с Московским поповским центром на Рогожском кладбище, где практика метрикации продолжалась во второй половине XIX в., привлечены публикации и сообщения генеалогов и краеведов., The article discusses historic conditions for making metric records (baptisms, marriages and funerals) in the church books of Old Believers beglopopovtsy in the Urals during the 19th century (later than the “Belokrinitsky Agreement” and “Chasovennoye Soglasie” were held). The Old Believers who had the priesthood or did not deny it are at the center of attention. It is referred to the so-called ‘chapel’ (chasovennye) branch and the Belokrinitskaya hierarchy in the Urals of the 19th century. The article deals with changes in legislation on the registration of marital status, births and funerals for the Old Believers beginning from the reign of Alexander I to the end of the imperial period of Russia. Documents registering the life cycle events were created on the basis of these imperial orders, so the author considers the limitations that each of these sources has. In addition to the well-known metric books of the early 20th century, which appeared after the proclamation of toleration and the Decree of Nicholas II on Old Believers’ Communities on October 17, 1906, the question is raised with regard to availability and possibility of such records in the previous times. Circumstances for the independent Old Believer church records were not always favorable in the 19th century. Very few documents of this kind have been found: they all are associated with the Moscow Rogozhskoye cemetery and the territory of the Ural Cossack army. This, however, does not mean the complete futility of searches. Perhaps somewhere in the archival collections one can still find the Old Believers’ church books of the early 19th century, as the government allowed the run-away priests of Old Believers to keep such records until the end of 1830’s. Later, Old Believers of the Middle Urals tried to continue this practice, transferring this tradition to the lay mentors, but it was prosecuted. Records of such mentors were not recognized by the authorities and from the end of 1830’s they even turned to be an evidence of illegal actions of “spreading the split”. The author informs about the initiatives of the Old Believers to account for life cycle events up to 1906. The article is based on the sources of various origins (emperor’s decrees, materials of Old Believers’ councils), administrative records, correspondence, church books and police records. Various publications and reports of genealogists and people interested in local history have been involved to compare with the data of Moscow center at Rogozhskoye cemetery, where the practice of keeping metrics continued through the second half of the 19th century.
